Wow-these comments make me ashamed to be an Obama fan. If his campaign made an issue of this, I have to wonder if he, himself, thought of ot in a bad light. I would think he would see it and be proud-he was showing respect and honor; And I like to think that he is not so small minded to think the way most of his supporters are thinking. He says he is Hillary's friend, and I think he believes her to be a very decent person, and a an excellent person who represents the Democratic party. I bet he is angry that "his camp" put this negative light on such an innocent thing. Hillary and Obama both know a lot happens that is not a part of them, or representative of them personally. I am proud that these two people are Democrats and I refuse to lower myself the way so many here have. Go Democrats!!

This is just deplorable. This is a new greasy, dirty low – even for a politician. How could anyone defend this type of behavior in a campaign? This is the kind of thing you see in movies. The kind of the thing the bad guy does to the good guy and yet, there are still those of you who are rooting for the bad guy to win? Do you see now, Clinton supporters? Do you see what accepting these types of attacks ultimately says about you? Are you that full of contempt and hatred that you would go to any lengths to damage the character of the people's candidate? By painting him as a killer?

I am an Obama fan and it's clear to me that the Clinton's are doing exactly what Obama's camp suggests -- playing the politics of fear. Having said that, I think the better response from Obama would have been "So what? Why does it matter that I wear traditional clothing of Somalia in a good gesture toward them?" Similarly, I thought the better response on the false accusations that he was a Muslim would have been: "I am not a Muslim, but why would it matter if I was? This is a nation of religious freedom and we shouldn't persecute anyone because of their religious beliefs." Then again, I'll admit that most people in this country are dolts and wouldn't take as well to my approach.

We are not arguing that this is a smear because it is false,

It is a smear because, if her campaign put it out, their intention was to incite racism-fear in the minds of white voters who are afraid of muslims. It is her INTENTION that is disgusting, not the factual implication.

Let's see if they come out and deny that they sent out the photo – because if they don't, I think that is proof enough...

Obama is doing charity work in this photo. Bringing food to the poor in Somalia, a country where there is hardly any electricity, clean water, etc... Those of you who talk about how the "truth hurts, doesn't it Obama" [I had to grammatically correct that sentiment since it was written unintelligibly] or who talk about how Barack is playing dirty politics should consider the deep implications of using a photo showing a man being culturally sensitive and doing charity work in order to produce a feeling of incensed bigotry. I feel that America will do poorly in the next century if we cannot use our great wealth in a manner that produces understanding, instead of breeding contempt. Even the Rand Corporation has stated that building schools in the middle east is a less costly alternative to ending radical Islam than is dropping bombs.

If he didn't want people to see it, he shouldn't have donned the apparel in the first place.
