Former Clinton press secretary sizes up March 4 contests

(CNN) - Former Bill Clinton Press Secretary Dee Dee Myers is the latest to join the chorus of those claiming that Texas and Ohio are must-win states for Hillary Clinton.

Echoing the former president's sentiment, Myers told CNN on Thursday that Super Tuesday was initially must-win for Clinton, but “looking at Texas and Ohio, it’s a do-or-die test.”

She also added that not only does Clinton have to win those states, but she also has to win by large enough margins to chip away at Barack Obama's lead in the delegate count.

According the latest CNN estimates, Clinton trails Obama by 102 delegates with 1,267 to his 1,369 . However, Clinton leads in the superdelegate race with 236 to Obama's 185 .

Myers, who has not formally endorsed a presidential candidate, said Clinton holds overwhelming support among voters who view experience as “the most important credential.”

New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez, a Clinton supporter, said he believes the New York senator will win in Texas because of her ability to speak on the issues.

“I think it’s Hillary’s message that is going to achieve victory on that day, ” Menendez told CNN on Thursday. “In Texas, she’s been talking about the foreclosure crisis. [She is] the only candidate that has a plan to deal with it.”

There are 439 delegates up for grabs in the March 4 contests - which are being called the "Second Super Tuesday" - in Texas, Ohio, Vermont and Rhode Island.

Ron, I guess you haven't heard – both the Canadian Gov't AND the Obama campaign have already stated that these conversations never took place, that the article stating as such was bogus.

This really wasn't very valuable news. Hillary is in a fight for the nomination because she failed to plan. She took her eye off of all her other opponents thinking that she would just waltz into the nomination and now she has mud on her face.

It doesnt matter. If Hillary somehow snakes the nomination there will be such a defection from the Democratic party that there will be absolutely no way she can win in the general. A Hillary presidency is not possible. It's still between Obama and McCain..if Dems dont nominate Obama McCain wins..if we do nominate Obama...Obama wins. Those are our choices.

WHAT I AM AFTER IS WHO WILL BEAT MCCAIN. IF DEMOCRATS RIG THE VOTE IN FAVOR OF HILLARY, THEY ARE GOING TO LOOSE SIMPLE BECAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE DON'T WANT HILLARY, NOT BECAUSE SHE IS NOT EDUCATED NOR INTELIGENT, ACCORDING TO MY OWN SAMPLING BECAUSE OF HOW SHE BEHAVED HER SELF LAST WEEK. TO MY PERSONAL FINDING, IF YOU OPPOSE HILLARY'S IDEA SHE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE IT AND THAT WILL BE ANOTHER GEOGE W BUSH ON THE SEAT, I BELIEVE A WOMAN IS GOING TO BE IN WHITE HOUSE IN THE NEAR FUTURE BUT I DONT THINK IT WILL BE THIS ONE.

After 22ys in the Military, I understand that you should never stop figthing until you lose 30% of your combat force. Once you reach that %, get help, change mission or get the hell out of the way. You will harm your troops and hurt the greater force (Mission)! AND LOSE EVERYTHING!
Hillary has loss 30%, she change her mission for the 4th time since NH. The only thing left is to the hell out of the way.
I do honor your cause to keep figthing, but at what cost is the question?

Hillary's only experience is at hiding things, and lying. The White House is saying that she will not hand over important documents that she should have already handed over to them a long ago, AND on top of that Hillary still will not release her income tax information.
Throughout her campaign Hillary has released false information about Obama, saying he was a Muslim, She had to apologize for doing it, and fire a staff member who was told to release the false information. But yet again, went and did the same thing a few months later. Releasing the photos of Obama wearing an outift he was given as a gift during a diplomatic visit, and under that photo, she LIED, and saying once again that he was a muslim, and she continue to lie that she did not release the picture with the false information under it, even thought a staff member has admitted that Hillary did do it. Not only did she lie, she also wanted to stir up racial, tensions, and hatred, and she has succeeded.
Hillary did all this just to win, to become president. She did all this in front of the American people, she seems not to care that they know she is a liar. NOTHING about this terrible behaviour will change when Hillary is president, it will only get worst. If Hillary is elected, we will be sending Hillary the message that we don't care if she hides things, and lies to our faces. Nothing will change in Washington, it will only get worst.
We cannot put an admitted liar in the White house. We will only be getting what we vote for, and that is lies, lies, and more lies, from Hillary Clinton
You cannot reward bad behaviour like Hillary, it's like giving a reward to a child who has done EVEYTHING WRONG.

Since we know all blacks are voting for Obama, Clinton needs others to vote for her or she will lose. I have never seen anyone polarize this country like Obama. What a shame.

Billary would spin a 2% victory in Texas and a 5% victory into a giant landslide ...truth is that the Obama movement is not a regular campaign. The Obama supporters are determined and Billary made publicly fun of them – not a good idea if you think you will win the nomination.

I, for one, would never vote for the Billaries – just look at the multiple personalities they are displaying in hopes to get elected. They do and say whatever it takes. They lie – we all know that, the world has learned about that.

The amazing thing here in Missouri is that I meet so many individuals who say it's Obama first and McCain second. That's not scientific obviously, I have never experienced such a rejection of one candidate (Clinton) though.

If she wins Texas and Ohio and Rhode Island, she is still in the game. In a Texas poll released TODAY, shows Senator Hillary Clinton with a commanding 41 point lead over Senator Barack Obama.

A new Latino Decisions Texas Poll found that Hillary leads her opponent among registered Latino voters in Texas 62% to 21%, with 15% undecided.

She still has a chance to win this. If she looses these States on Tues, then rejoice all you want but she still has a fighting chance and even though its not covered in media, Clinton has received A LOT of endorsements this week which inclused actor Sean Astin, General Wesley Clark, Lt. General Joe Ballard, Major General Antonio M. Taguba, Rear Admiral David Stone, Brigadier General John M. Watkins, Jr., former Secretary of the Army Togo West and 27 Flag officers (certified heroes not including Sean Astin). She has also been recently endorsed by a dozen Cleveland area officials and community leaders. Not to mention that The Akron Beacon Journal, The Laredo Morning Times and The Daily Texan. All within a week and it's a shame this is not reported but every single endorsement Obama gets makes national headlines.

I wonder if this will get posted

TEXAS – OHIO – and all of the remaining states –

Senator Clinton can get the job done to help with jobs, housing, mortgages (has a plan – Senator Obama does not), overall economy, foreign affairs! Name it – she can take care of it.

I am asking that you make a choice to have someone as President who CAN and WILL get the job done. Someone who does not support nuclear weapons, someone who takes care of her job in Washington (even while campaigning), someone who knows the HOW to get things done. Someone who will not knowingly disenfranchise millions of voters (Michigan & Florida), someone who will not leave anyone behind with healthcare, someone who after being around Washington KNOWS HOW TO GET THE JOB DONE. IT IS THIS EXPERIENCE THAT IS REQUIRED TO GET THINGS ACCOMPLISHED.

No pie in the sky – no telepromters – nothing but ACTION!

Senator Clinton will work for you, me and all the people of the United States. A vote for Senator Clinton is a vote for progress! It is a vote for significant improvements! It is a vote that will take the Democratic Party to the White House in November!!!!!!!!

Go Texas, Go Ohio, GO GO GO Hillary Rodham Clinton for President!

STOP BEGGING!!!!!! LOL!LOL!LOL! TOO LITTLE TOO LATE!!!!
YOU DO UNDERSTAND THIS IS A RACE FOR DELEGATES DON'T YOU????? THERE'S NO WAY SHE CAN CATCH UP!!!!!! I DON'T KNOW WHY THAT IS SO HARD FOR HILLARY SUPPORTERS TO UNDERSTAND THIS.
A MERE WIN WON'T HELP HER!!!!! SHE HAS TO WIN BIG! THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!!!!
HILLARY NEEDS TO BE WORKING ON HER CONCESSION SPEACH!!!!

I loved the Clintons when they were in office however, her claim that Obama doesn't have the experience, the main point is nobody thats ever took oval office has had the experience of being the President . The American people put the worse President in oval office in american history. He not just the worse President he is the worse head of any administration in any political setting american history just look at the numbers.

  21. Be smart!

I read some of these notations and I just have to laugh......

Talk issues folks.....not personalities. Learn about the issues – who cares about names. Issues are what the problems are and what need to be fixed! Who can do what for America?

After watching the debate, it would not have been appropriate for Senator Clinton to have said – well, when I go first Senator Obama parrots my answers.......but it is what happens. Has it occurred to anyone that the 'green' job proposal was first presented by Clinton 6-8-10 months ago? Long before Senator Obama caught up the the lingo. Has it occurred to anyone that Clinton is still doing her job in the Senate and Obama is NOT? Did anyone know that Obama camp sent info to Canada that he does not really intend to renegotiate NAFTA? Check it out......... Did anyone know that Senator Obama has a couple of lawsuits that are either filed or pending regarding plagerism (Yes we can) and cocaine use while in the Senate? Who wants a past drug user for a President? We have a past drinker now and look what we got!

Go with a winner and someone who will stand up for everyone! Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton! She is proud of her name, country and will fight for all of us.

Latest polls show Clinton down to a 6.8% aggregate lead in Ohio and trailing Obama by an aggregate of 2.6%, this is hardly the 20%+ clear win Clinton needs in both States to continue being considered a 'likely' nominee!

Over the past month or so polls in Texas and Ohio has showed an almost constant dwindling of her lead over Obama, and of course the reversal of the lead in Texas so that she is now in second place. Allied with this of course is the constant gaining of Super Delegates by Obama, Clinton in the meantime has started losing her 'confirmed' Super Delegates.

This is now the time that Clinton must be wondering if it would be possible to run again in 4 years.

One problem that arises from this continued growing support for Obama for Democratic Super Delegates, and especially Senator John Edwards is when do they announce support for Obama? Do they announce before March 4th or not?

My guess is that should the gap narrow even further in Ohio and/or grow wider in Obama's favour in Texas that the constant trickle of super delegates declaring for Obama will suddenly breach the political rock face and become a waterfall pouring into the Obama camp.

As for Clinton it is over, but she is a fighter and will stay in the race until March 5th when either of her own volition or otherwise she will bow out of the race.

So now is it the Obama supporters' turn to start crying foul that the media and CNN is only catering to Hillary Clinton? Turnabout is fair play! 🙂

Maybe Obama should hold a scripted Q&A where he breaks down in tears and then offers himself some water. Seems to work for HRC when she needs a boost!

TEXAS, OHIO, VERMONT, and RHODE ISLAND voters

Please vote for someone who can unite the party. America needs to be one again. History has taught us that working together, we can achieve greatness.

Look at how many people show up to Obama's rallies. The reason is simple, people like the idea that he may be able to achieve something that his opponents say is fantasy. Not long ago, some would have said a woman and a black man would never come close to the presidency. It's time America realize that we need to stop pointing fingers and saying we can not. That is the easy way out.

Can we achieve greatness in America?
Personally, I say "YES WE CAN"
