Obama camp responds to Clinton ad with one of their own

Obama's campaign has issued its own 3 a.m. ad.
Obama's campaign has issued its own 3 a.m. ad.

(CNN) - In a direct response to a Hillary Clinton television ad, Barack Obama's campaign Friday released its own 30 second spot raising the prospect of an early morning foreign policy crisis.

"It’s 3 a.m. and your children are safe and asleep," the ad's narrator states in an obvious take off of the Clinton ad released earlier in the day. "But there’s a phone ringing in the White House. Something’s happening in the world. (Related: Clinton raises the stakes in new ad)

"When that call gets answered, shouldn’t the president be the one – the only one – who had judgment and courage to oppose the Iraq war from the start… Who understood the real threat to America was al-Qaeda, in Afghanistan, not Iraq," the narrator continues. "Who led the effort to secure loose nuclear weapons around the globe… In a dangerous world, it’s judgment that matters."

How can this woman ever become "commander-in-chief?" With all the emotional break downs in recent months, I remain shocked at the "judgment" of those who would like someone who cannot even run an effective campaign to be a "commander-in-chief" for this great nation. How will be holdup from onslaughts from the Iranian verbal attacks let alone the Russians!!!

American has made many mistakes in the past, this will be the last that will bring the nation crumbling. All powerful nations have tumbled at the expense of "dumb" decision makers.

I just keep wondering who bought cracks for Obama, or he bought it by himself. Did he ever go to rehab?

I don't understand why folks can't see right through Hilary at this point. I was looking at them both in the beginning. She has as many personalities as "Sybil." She will do "whatever" to get herself elected the nominee. Have you asked yourselves why? Do you realize there is going to be a hearing involving the Clintons starting tomorrow in California? She is SOOOOO desperate that she's grasping at this point. And I really hope the people of Ohio is not falling for any of it and remember NAFTA. She really needs to bow out. She still has some sort of career in politics if she keeps going she's going to ruin it for herself. She and her game playing have really ticked me off. If she somehow manages to steal the nomination, I will vote for McCain, for spite. Neither of them is the answer but just so it blows up in her face.

    OBAMA
You didn't "support" the war in Iraq..and you did not "vote" for it...Of course you didn't and neither did I for the exact same reason. WE WEREN'T MEMBERS OF THE SENATE!!! "If" you win the nomination (doubtful) then I can honestly say I DID NOT VOTE FOR BARAK OBAMA.

Now that is an honest answer and not hiding behind rhetoric.

People of Texas, Ohio, RI and VT.... Senator Hillary Clinton is tried and true leader. She will be there to correct the mess left by the Bush Administration and can fight what is left of the GOP attack machine. There should not even be a consideration for who will beat McCain, his campaign is broke and can't fight the "Will of the People". Vote Senator Hillary Clinton for President of the United States of America.

If Hillary wins... she will need Obama to run with her. He proved that he can move people to vote willingly. If Obama wins... he doesn't need Hillary to be the VP, there are other well qualified candidate who can do the job and will not whine if they did not get what they want. Even the chef from the white house doesn't like her, she whines whenever she doesn't get what she wants and throws things at the people working in the whitehouse. My cousin who is an admin in the white house got yelled at for no reason when her so called health care plan did not get approved. How can she lead when no one wants to follow her?

It makes sense that he quasi-copied her ad...it points out how trivial the argument really is. I found Hillary's ad to be a little weak, considering the fact she's really in a tight spot now: Win, or go home. Obama never strikes the first blow, but he is quick to defend himself. Show's he's more noble than Hillary, who has been stooping pretty low lately. All you Obama haters need to shut up already. But same to the Hillary haters. This isn't what it's about. Polls show Obama has the best chance to beat McCain. So your choice should be clear. The two are very similar on policy, but Hillary just can't win the election. So lets not continue this divisive war!! Lets unite around a candidate who isn't going to bring on the 100 years war!!!

What, Hillary? No mushroom cloud in your ad? Wouldn't that be even scarier? What a joke her campaign is .....

Hillary the HOPE of 08 :)

    We will overcome!

Same old line Barack. :( Your one-liners and copy-cat responses wouldn't get you far in the White House.

If you had any judgement at all you would not have run for president prematurely. You are responsible for splitting your party and for creating a backlash that will haunt America for a very long time.

  12. FRUSTRATED!

I find it hilarious to see so many people saying that Obama can unite the country, when he can't even unite the democratic party. As proven on these blogs, he has been more divisive than any other candidate I've seen, and I've been voting since 1976.His "new ad" shows he can't even make a commercial on his own, he needs Hillary to do it first! Final note, how can you Obama supporters follow a man who doesn't keep his word? In 2004 he promised he wouldn't run for president in 2008 because "he needed more experience". His words, not mine. This is only 1 thing out of an ever growing list of reasons why he should NOT be president.

Steveo you are wrong. Obama was not in the US senate in 2002. He was in Illinois, voting Present (instead of Yes or No) all the time!

BUT THE PROBLEM IS HE IS NOT A MESSIAH, HE DOES NOT HAVE THE EXPERIENCE, HE HAS BEEN GIVEN ALL HIS LISTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN ILLINOIS, ALL THESE ACCOMPLISHMENTS WAS GIVEN TO HOM IN THE LAST YEAR HE WAS THERE. LOOK IT UP ITS A FACT. HE HAS DONE NOTHING IN THE US SENATE, BUT PREPARE TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT. HE HAS THE BACKING SUPPORT OF AMERICAN RADICAL ISLAM GROUPS, AS WELL AS HIS PASTOR, WHO PRAISES AND AWARDS LEADERS OF THESE MUSLIM GROUPS. AMERICA NEEDS TO WAKE UP AND SEE HE IS NOT THE ONE TO CHANGE WASHINGTON. HE WILL MAKE IT WORSE.

Could somebody at CNN please find out, then report the information, as to how many times Presidents have been called on in the middle of the night to make a critical, split decision without consulting the people who advise him, such as a general, or his other advisors.
If that is happening in the White House, then maybe we'd better find out why and what were the circumstances. I for one would really like to know.

Hillary is really grasping at straws in her recent ad, isn't she?

For those of you who seem to think that Mrs. Clinton isn't reinventing the wheel have clearly stopped using your brains.

Doesn't it bother you that in a country such as ours, that 2 families (Clinton + Bush) have ruled for over 20 years. If Mrs. Clinton wins the nomination that could/would make it 24/28 years. Dynasties are not what America is about.

For the women who are voting for Mrs. Clinton ONLY because she is a woman - you are like the folks that voted for George Bush solely because he was pro-life. The fact that he lied to our country and sent our soldier to die wasn't very PRO-life.

For the minorities out their...AND I mean ALL minorities (Spanish/Latin Americans, Greek Americans, Asian Americans, etc) ... A Obama nomination/election makes the way that much easier for someone from your group to get to the presidency. Is presidency would be a significant shift in the true inclusiveness of this country.

And yes, I was a big Bill Clinton supporter. He was a very good president BUT he did have his screw ups. The GENOCIDE in Rhwanda happened on his watch. His inaction as a human being and as Leader of the most powerful country in the world at the time, was unforgiveable AND will remain a stain on his legacy.

Mrs. Clinton chose to be spoon fed by the Bush administration on going to war with Iraq. The fact that she was First Lady privied her to information that should have raised her caution flags. Saying that that's all the information she was provided is utterly ridiculous. Her YEARS of experience should've raised her caution flags.
As a female New Yorker, I was a supporter of Mrs. Clinton BUT she fell out of favor with me when she became LAWYERLY about admitting that her vote was a mistake. She finally was cornered into answering that question at the end of the last debate. And she FINALLY said yes. It only took her a number of years.

A strong leader should be able to say – "you know what, I messed up, LETS FIX IT AND MOVE ON." You can't move on until you admit your mistakes. Our soldiers have died and are dying AND THAT IS NOTHING TO BE LAWYERLY ABOUT.
