Clinton goes after Obama's chairmanship in new ad

Clinton is launching new ads in Texas and Ohio Monday.
Clinton is launching new ads in Texas and Ohio Monday.

(CNN) Hillary Clinton hit Texas and Ohio airwaves Monday with two new television spots, including one that goes after Barack Obama for not holding any oversight hearings since becoming chairman of a Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee.

"Barack Obama says he has the judgment to be president, but as chairman of an oversight committee charged with the force of fighting al Qaeda in Afghanistan, he was too busy running for president to hold even one hearing," an announcer says in a 30-second Texas ad called "True."

"Hillary Clinton will never be too busy to defend our national security, bringing our troops home from Iraq and pursuing Al Qaeda in Afghanistan," the announcer also says.

Clinton first criticized Obama over his chairmanship of a subcommittee on Europe at last week's MSNBC debate.

'"It has jurisdiction over NATO. NATO is critical to our mission in Afghanistan," she said then. "He's held not one substantive hearing to do oversight, to figure out what we can do to actually have a stronger presence with NATO in Afghanistan."

Obama responded that he became chairman of that committee in January 2007, just as his presidential campaign was launching.

Clinton also went up with a new 30-second ad in Ohio on Monday called "Partner," in which she highlights the state's economic downturn and says she will fight for working families.

"The wealthy and the well-connected have had a president. It's time the middle class had a president who will stand up for you," Clinton says in that ad.

Enough already! We're all losing sight of what's really important here. This is becoming way more vicious and uglier than what is necessary. Clinton is down 11 consecutive primaries and caucuses. Very likely Obama will win Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont tomorrow as well. Are you all on opiates? The hand writing is on the wall. It's time for all of us Democrats to stop all this petty, frivolous bickering about the candidates and rally behing the inevitable likely winner, Obama in this case, for the betterment of the country. If we don't we're looking at another 4-yrs of what's just about destroyed us with McCain and Bush. While we're wasting energy on Clinton's pit bull political tactics and Obama's so called inexperience the republicans & conservatives are rallying behind McCain. If the Democrats don't come to their senses we'll all be looking at McCain as the 44th President of the United States of America. God help us all.

Now where was Senator Clinton while Bill was adding to the already messed up NAFTA? As said before, you can't pick & choose when you support something & when you don't.

The more she attacks Obama, the more Obama gains. Perhaps, if HIllary stopped attacking and stop doing negative ads, maybe more and more people will start voting for her I used to support her, but because of her attitude and her negative ads that sicken me, my vote is now for Obama.

What is wrong with this blog?!!! Everytime I submit, it disappears into oblivion. Doesn't even say waiting for moderation anymore!!! Wow, you are getting really good at deleting Pro Clinton, anti Obama rational arguments. How proud you will be when you get another unsuitable candidate placed in the White House! Stay the Course HIllary – you are still the best.

  12. Lets Get Ready for Change!

Listen up Hillary Supporters.... It appears as though she is reaching. All of this should have been brought up before now and she possibly wouldn't have lost 10 or 11 straight elections. If this was such an issue, when he kept slamming her on her IRAQ vote why didn't she mention this. Did she just find this information out? I DON'T THINK SO!
And ladies (I am a lady) do just vote for her to see a woman in the White House. This is a very shallow way to think. Think about changing the White House and changing from the status quo unless you like the status quo which many people don't!

Hillary, please be reasonable! You cant win this "legally" so please drop out now. If you "steal" the nomination the democratic party will suffer and millions of voters will never forgive you, do the right thing. You had a good run, it just didn't work out!

Hillary nor Obama has an experience for being the president. Hillary and her backyard deals will keep this country in a mess. Change is what everyone is looking for and that includes a new president with a new last name.

For the last twenty years we have dealt with either Bush or Clintons. We want change! Real change!

Just because she is a woman and was married to Bill doesn't mean she is the right choice and has all the experience. The bottom line is we want change. The republicans would love to have Hillary has the nominee so they can chew her up..Her entire background would be their focus of attack. Obama is real about change and the problem is America is so used to junk and politics as usual we can't even see someone like Obama is really running to make a difference in our country and how we are perceived.

To see that this race has become divisive, one only needs to look as far as the comments written on articles like these.

I hope for the good of the country that the matter is settled one way or the other after tomorrow. Seeing each candidate's supporters tear into each other threatens the hope each might bring.

Obama is too busy running for president is that what you said hillary....

yet your are running for the job too what is your excuse.

3 doomsday is near hillary start packing your bags i think you are done in the politcal world. which is a big plus for everbody involved.
it might have been different if old bedroom eyes were not out compaigning for you.

4 once a thief always a thief how much property did you take from the whitehouse when you and the womanizer moved out

5 you say barack obama has been giver special treatment.....i.ll
disagree with you on this..... since when do ex presidents get to take anything they want out of the whitehouse when they leave and are even asked by the police to bring the property back that was taken
IF YOU WILL NOTICE NOT ONE NEWS REPORTER HAS EVEN TOUCHED THIS ITEM ABOUT YOUR TRUSTWORTHYNESS OR OTHER THINGS THAT WENT ON WHILE YOU WERE IN THE WHITEHOUSE.

6 we must vote for honesty and integrity on March 4. the experience
will come ...you sure don,t have any of this but obama will have the best in this business around him to help.

MRS. CLINTON IS INDEED DESPERATE. SHE WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO GET THE VOTES SHE NEEDS. AMERICANS SHOULD BE WISE AND NOT GIVE IN TO CHEAP POLITICS THAT WILL NOT TAKE THEM ANY WHERE. AMERICA NEEDS A NEW IMAGE OF ITSELFAND THAT REQUIRES NEW PEOPLE AND NOT THOSE WHO ARE ALREADY IN THE MUD.

Hillary's first objective is furthering her own political advantage, never doing what is best for the American people. Nor is she capable of telling the truth. This lifelong Democrat will vote for McCain if her despicable tactics win.

If She is not that busy why she is not giving her tax return details?

May be voters will find out how much money she took from the lobbyist.

If She is not that busy why she is not giving her list of visits when she was first lady?

May be voters will find out how much experience she actually have.

Everybody knows she is getting desparate day by day.
