Way to go, Jane H. It's good to read some literate comments from an
educated person on these blogs – occasionally. I will support the Democrat nominee. However, the news media (and I was one for 27 years) has never given Hillary a fair chance against Obama. Frankly, I don't think he is that eloquent or inspirational. I was flicking through channels and heard Sean Hannity (whom I despise) interviewing people on the street, asking them to name one thing Obama has accomplished. They couldn't come up with one example, other than he was a street organizer in Chicago and was elected senator. Despite the fact of his immaturity and inexperience, he still might make a decent president, but Hillary has been tested and vetted both in the political, personal and administrative fields. She will hang tough and get the job done!

However, I was utterly repelled by her behavior, along with that of her husband's in South Carolina and later states. Between Bill's comparisons of Obama's candidacy to that of Jesse Jackson's and Hillary's dismissal of the votes of the "very strong and very proud black electorate", I could no longer support a candidate who repeatedly brings up race as a means to divide the country. I have yet to hear Mr. Obama dismiss any of his losses to Ms. Clinton as a result of the strong female electorate or strong white electorate. If you ask many Hillary supporters, they say they will vote for Mccain if Obama gets the nomination because 1. They can't support Obama because of his lack of experience 2. Fact, Hillary was a First Lady who was seen and heard and did for us when Bill was in the White House.
Fact, Hillary has done lots for NY and won the NY primaries to back that as well as her home town.
Fact, she has her platform clearly stated on her website, (what is Obama's?)
Fact, Obama's campaign funds are poorly mismanaged and not clearly accounted for.

It is well known that a lot of Hispanics consider themselves to be white so it should not be a shock to White America that more of the Hispanics vote for Hillary Clinton. What I find to be so disgusting is how shallow so called highly educated news commentators and other high profile political officials choose not to see what the Clinton campaign is doing by introducing the same negative questions about Barack Obama that were raised during his run for the U. S. Senate position that he has. Hillary does some of the same under handed things that President Bush does. If the country is fed up with him why would they vote for a female version of him? Hillary has put on more fake smiles during this campaign than she has shown during the last 35 yrs. she is always talking about. Hillary plays up to the group that has the most potential voters and says just what they want to hear. She is always talking about her vast accomplishments but the only thing she speaks of is getting a small fraction of the young children getting healthcare.

To make a generalization like you did is unfounded and lacking in basic common sense. I am a black man and I reside in Virginia. I did not vote for Mr. Obama or Mrs. Clinton in our primary. I voted for John McCain. As Hilary so famously states, "We need someone who can be President on day one". We need experience. Well...neither one of the democratic candidates has as much experience as John McCain. However, I will never vote for Hilary because I served in the military under her husband and he treated us like crap and I hate him for it. I lost a lot friends that you nor the rest of America ever heard about because of his unsound foreign policies If it came down to it and I had to pick one or the other democratic candidates, I would choose Mr. Obama. At least voting for the dream of change is better than voting for someone who has found a way to put positive spin on status quo.

I read these comments and I'm stunned how many people use simplistic slurs like "liar" or "cheat" for these two candidates. I will be happy with either Obama or Clinton -- but again, I think Clinton is the stronger option. That being said, can't we respect these people for having the nerve to run? It's because of the nasty slurs and CR*P in general that so many really good people refuse to go into politics. The candidates have to clean up their act? I think the PUBLIC has to start being a little more respectful of these people. You want really brilliant minds and truely talented people to govern? Then you better be willing to accept human beings -- you know, people with flaws. Look at our icons -- every great president we've ever had was a flawed person. Yes, there was mud-slinging "back in the day" -- but now it's instantaneous and unrelenting. Would they have survived the mud-slinging and nastiness that we hurl non-stop at candidates today? Would they even have wanted to? WHEN ARE WE GOING TO LEARN? It's this trashiness that makes it so hard to attract really great leaders. Thank GOD we have ANYONE willing to run. My hat is off to all the candidates -- not just Clinton and Obama -- but McCain as well.

Alba, according to the information I've read Barack is ahead of the popular vote by over 1 million votes.............. I think all Obama supporters need to be ready to move the fight to Wyoming and Mississippi and then to PA. I think Barack will do well tonight winning at least 2 maybe 3 states......... the delegate count won't change, but HRC will find a way to substantiate staying in the race and further dividing the party. Obama has closed a 20 point gap in both states despite all the negative ads, and pandering and pleading to the media by the other campaign. There is no way if Barack were behind by this many pledged delegates at this point that he would still be getting the coverage she's getting. Things look good in Texas, he's getting more of the Hispanic vote than she's getting of the African-American votes by a wide margin. Take that along with the way the delegates are divided based on voter turnout in the last election and it should be a great night in Texas. Ohio's weather may have an effect on the less than fidelis, which wouldn't apply to most Obama supporters, and may supply a surprise win. The polls only call registered voters............. they don't take into account the new voters Obama is bringing to the party. That's how he's able to outperform the polls like in Wisconsin.
