Limbaugh wants the Democratic race to continue.
Limbaugh wants the Democratic race to continue.

(CNN) – As Hillary Clinton battles to keep her presidential bid alive, she may be getting help from an unlikely source: conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh.

Limbaugh has been actively urging his Texas listeners to cross over and vote for Clinton in that state's open primary Tuesday, arguing it helps the Republicans if the Democratic race remains unsettled for weeks to come.

"I want Hillary to stay in this…this is too good a soap opera," Limbaugh told fellow conservative talk-show host Laura Ingraham on Fox News Friday. He reiterated the comments on his Monday show and replayed the exchange with Ingram.

He also said Clinton is more willing than the Republican National Committee and John McCain's campaign to criticize Barack Obama.

"We need Barack Obama bloodied up politically. It's obvious that the Republicans are not going to do it, they don't have the stomach for it," Limbaugh continued. "As you probably know we're getting all kinds of memos from the RNC saying we're not going to be critical. Mark McKinnon of McCain's campaign said he'll quit if they get critical over Obama. This is the presidency of the United States we're talking about. I want our party to win I want the Democrats to lose.”

In January, liberal Daily Kos blogger Markos Moulitsas urged readers in Michigan to vote for Mitt Romney in the GOP primary for similar reasons. Romney went on to win Michigan, though exit polling showed Democrats who voted in that primary favored McCain.

On his Monday show, several listeners appeared dismayed that Limbaugh was urging them to support the New York senator.

"Wouldn't you love to cream Hillary though…why are you so afraid of her? Look at how ineptly she has campaigned against Obama," Limbaugh responded to one listener who said she wanted to see Clinton out of the race immediately.

"I'm asking people to cross over, and if they can stomach it and I know it's a difficult thing to do, vote for Clinton," he also told Ingraham Friday. "But it will sustain this soap opera, and it's something I think we need and it'll be fun, too."

Several recent polls suggest Clinton is statically tied with Obama in Texas, and the New York senator's campaign has characterized Tuesday's vote as a crucial test of strength.

most people today (..the older generation) would like life to stay just as it is….but america is seeing a change …..a change of going in a new direction making new choices and the american people having a say in the matter….PACK UP THE OLD POLITICS AND THE OLD DUSTY WAY OF DOING THINGS and go home…THERE'S A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN……AND HIS NAME IS OBAMA

Hillary Supporter   March 3rd, 2008 7:36 pm ET

I have been a republican all my life and finally this year I voted for Hillary Clinton. I decided to go with the most experience, a leader that can bring our soldiers home from the war, one that can help our economy and provide health care for all. She has a big task and everyday she shows courage when the media fails to be fair in this race.

Obama is in serious trouble, when he can only be present 101 times and not vote a yes or no. Our economy will suffer with this type of attitude, he Obama seems to only talk with action. Do you really want a President that can only lead rock concerts? He said no to the war, what about 911, do you remember when we were under attack? What did he do then. Watch as the twin towers came down and closed his eyes to the thousands that lost their life that day, because he did not want to go after them it might cost to my money.

Mihkel   March 3rd, 2008 7:34 pm ET

Ed: "can you name a human being more pathetic than Rush Limbaugh?"

Answer: Hillary Clinton.

Mimi, CA   March 3rd, 2008 7:34 pm ET

Yep, Hillary is also a UNITER!

silverspring   March 3rd, 2008 7:34 pm ET

I am upset that fellow demoncrats do not make up their minds. Hillary may be a good president but she is not going to win in November. That is why the Republicans want her to go against McCain. Against Obama, McCain will not a chance in hell.

Ron   March 3rd, 2008 7:10 pm ET

Yes Victory will be mine and you will see a new reborn Hillary; And it needs to spread across the land Oh Happy day Oh Happy day

Tom Zwolinski   March 3rd, 2008 7:09 pm ET

I have news for Rush Limbaugh. No matter who wins the Democratic nomination, they will win in November because the old Republican Conservative guard is doomed. George Bush sealed their fate with his misdeads. The American people are starting to realize that many of the professed conservatives are nothing more than puppets for big money and big corporations. They use religion, race, fear, and whatever tactic they can to divide the American people when their real agenda is the division of wealth.

Rosemarie   March 3rd, 2008 6:46 pm ET

It is not four more years of Bush with Clinton, are you stupid.
You never had it so good when Bill Clinton was President

souza   March 3rd, 2008 6:45 pm ET

anyone heard of reverse psychology? Clinton won the Republican Senator position in N.Y.
Why is there so many haters of the Clinton's? How short every one's memory of the economy when Bill was in office. Please lets dust those brain cells off and start thinking and not follow the Pied Piper Obama…

linda   March 3rd, 2008 6:45 pm ET

MADAME PRESIDENT

Wayne   March 3rd, 2008 6:45 pm ET

As crazy as Rush is he has a very valid point. Hillary will be easier to beat in the general election than Obama. The war is a non issue since she voted for it. If she goes in talking about pulling out of Iraq McCain will say she changes her vote with the political wind. if its popular to be for the war she votes for it..unpopular she votes against it. She cant be trusted and everyone, including Repubs know this. If all she brings is experience..McCain beats her in experience, partisanship and political courage. I honestly cant see how she beats McCain.

yemiray   March 3rd, 2008 6:44 pm ET

I pray the Dem primaries end tomorrow. Hilary negative ads/attacks is already hurting the Demorcatic party. I heard that MCcain of all people now lead both candidates in the general polls..
She has proven again how divisive figure she has been in American politics

Leslie Somerville, Seattle, Washington   March 3rd, 2008 6:44 pm ET

It did work for Romney. Sounds good to me if you really sit down and think about it. It is kind of like that show where you put people on an island and you have to pick one to toss off every week. Sacrafice people, that is what it takes to get McCain in the White House.
Hold your head high, don't vomit and vote for Hillary.

Vince from Texas   March 3rd, 2008 6:44 pm ET

CNN and you people are giving this guy too much relevance. He is a loser, a draft-dodger and a drug addict. Rush really just wants Hillary to be president so he and all you Clinton-haters can keep whining for 4 to 8 more years. He knows that his party is made up of a bunch of bigots who will never vote for Obama. Any of the field of Democrats would have made a better president than what the Republicans have served up.
Hillary 08!

Logan, Huntington, West Virginia   March 3rd, 2008 6:43 pm ET

America is over Limbaugh and those like him. Voter turnout on the Democratic side is breaking records and I don't think the few that listen to him would make a difference anyway.

garvin   March 3rd, 2008 6:43 pm ET

So Rush is urging his boys and girls to run over and help Clinton out against Obama….

Hey Rush if you're Scared, just say you're scared.

Cause I think you're scared of the big bad Obama man.

Peter   March 3rd, 2008 6:43 pm ET

RUSH and ANN This isn't a GAME. This "Soap Opera" is not meant to entertain you. This process is what separates our country from the rest and you are basically mocking it. I am sickened by the foolish attitude that is being conved by these two. This is the race for the presidency , probably the most important job in this country and these two are say basically " vote for the worst" . Just STOP IT and vote for the people who will do the best for this country and stop listening to these two. America VOTE FOR THE PERSON YOU THINK WILL DO THE BEST FOR THIS COUNTRY. and don't listen to these puppet heads.

Vig   March 3rd, 2008 6:43 pm ET

Wouldn't it be justice if Rush helped Clinton win the White House!

Steve   March 3rd, 2008 6:43 pm ET

Rush must be high again.

Ken   March 3rd, 2008 6:42 pm ET

I understand what Rush is saying. I to wish John McCain clear sailing to the convention. John McCain is another George Bush and no one wants that. It's a sure foot in for us Democrats if we're up against loser McCain. Kudos to Rush we do appreciate the thumbs up.

faye   March 3rd, 2008 6:42 pm ET

God help us all!

Ramona   March 3rd, 2008 6:42 pm ET

I would like to add a comment about what I think about Rush Limbaugh, but it will get edited out I am sure. So I would like to say, thank you for those who like to see a clean and respectful campaign. Trash talk does not need to be a part of this process. I would hope that it would be utterly beneath my next president of the United States, AND those who support "him".

Brooke   March 3rd, 2008 6:42 pm ET

He just knows that if it ends up Obama vs McCain, Obama would win.

Zach   March 3rd, 2008 6:42 pm ET

["This is ridiculous. How did we get to the point that we're so divided as a country?"]

I think it started back with the Federalists and Anti-Federalists.

Jack from WV   March 3rd, 2008 6:37 pm ET

for one retired military vet can not understand why those flag officers have endorsed Hillary. They must have forgotten what Bill did to the military during his 8 years in office? I for one remember very well how he used the downsizing to reduce our military bases and personnel. I also recall that during his later years if any man was accused by a female of sexual misconduct they were immediately outsted with out due process. Both Hillary and Bill really do not like what the military stands for.
Rush is another outspoken people individual who at times should not say anything at all! He is just watching and laughing at the democrats all the way to the bank. If Hillary leaves now what is the media going to write and talk about, the real issues like affordable health care, or bringing jobs back to America or securing our boarders all boring topics for the media. The confrontations between Hillary and Obama are just fluffy media works they don’t have to formulate any questions, all they have to do is talk and write about their differences and leave it at that. Not what I call real reporting. Hopefully Hillary will be done and the republicans will start the attack on the democrats. Either one is not experienced enough to run this country. Obama has less than one year and that year he hasn’t done much in voting. Hillary has what almost 6 or 7 years this is not enough experience and if she is talking about those years Bill was President she didn’t make the calls and she was not responsible for anything except wearing those suites that remind me of a grandmother. She also has a lot of skeletons in her closet and that includes Bill. McCain and the Republicans are waiting patiently to turn up the heat and I for one can’t wait to see the democrats eating crow!

newton solomon   March 3rd, 2008 6:36 pm ET

Hillary Clinton is not thinking about the Democratic party. She is blind and power hungry. This woman will tarnish the image of the party in her bid for the nomination which if she somehow gets will be the end of the democratic party.I hope good sense prevail on her part and she drops out with the little dignity she have left…

Michelle   March 3rd, 2008 6:35 pm ET

I don't agree 100% with her, but I'm voting for Hillary, Why? because when in life do we really agree with someone 100% sometimes we just have to have faith that the person you trust will do what's best! I believe in her, I believe she will help my daughters with a better future! Who cares how she gets the job done if she has to pull out someones background, or a "smear" campaign??? This should show she wants to win and help like she says!1 Why would she fight so hard…..if she didn't believe she can help…and if it;s not truly in her heart? She's for my ,main views on health care, and income , and working people like my family!!! VOTE FOR HER SO OUR CHILDREN? GRANDCHILDREN WILL HAVE A FUTURE!! with OB immigrants will be taking over my children and grandchildrens jobs!!!

aware   March 3rd, 2008 6:35 pm ET

Hillary the HOPE of 08. She is the smart choice! :)

We are just beginning to know Barack, and he is just a politician who uses one set of words in public for political positioning and another in private get-togethers to schmooz. potential super voters upset with his public rhetoric :(

Hillary can get the job done!

Alicia   March 3rd, 2008 6:35 pm ET

Realize people, he is not saying vote for Hillary because he thinks the Republicans can win the presidency against her. Its because all this bickering and whining going on between the Clinton Camp and the Obama Camp , trying to make one another look bad, is eventually going to turn Democrats off the campaign all together. Republicans love the fact that Democrats are seperated on this issue. Voting for McCain because the Democratic Candidate you voted for did not get the nomination is rediculous and it is exactly what the Republicans are hoping for. I voted for Obama. If he does not get the nomination, I will vote for Hillary in November. Democrats need to take back the White House. Dont let the Republican Owned Media tell you otherwise.

Gerry   March 3rd, 2008 6:34 pm ET

Interesting ploy by the republicans. Vote Hillary-because she's easier for the GOP to defeat.

Rick FL   March 3rd, 2008 6:33 pm ET

Whether the nominee is Clinton or Obama, Americans need to unite against Rush's brand of divisive politics. This election is imperative for our country to move beyond the nonsense created by these demagogues. It only helped enable the failed policies of the current administration, which McCain seems all too willing now to continue. What happened to the centrist I used to admire? Enough is enough.

BG - Texas   March 3rd, 2008 6:20 pm ET

Democrats – Hillary or Obama!
You haven't seen anything yet – wait til the Great Karl Rove gets back in the action. They'll make John McCain look like Saint Ronald Reagan!

Carol   March 3rd, 2008 6:15 pm ET

For any of my Republican friends in Texas who want to cross the line for Hillary……………….

I will be glad to do the same in November if Obama is the nominee.

NO BAMA

Hillary or McCain 08. The security of our nation comes before partisianship.

Dan   March 3rd, 2008 6:14 pm ET

Games….. Seems to me this all the republican party is capable of.

SH   March 3rd, 2008 6:14 pm ET

I have seen Republican voters on TV saying they crossed over to vote for Obama in the primary but would not vote for him in the general election. It appears that the whole world is crazy and that there are people that will do anything to distort the people's will. There are two good Democratic candidates running, either will be able to win the Presidency.

Mike   March 3rd, 2008 6:14 pm ET

Obama supporters keep talking about "change". Other than having a new person as president, what "changes" need to be made at this time? How come I haven't heard any other "changes" mentioned in the media?

Brett   March 3rd, 2008 6:14 pm ET

He is smart!! I'm one of the many swing voters out there and I can tell you there is a stong aversion to HRC. What many democrats don't realize is that much of the swing vote will go for McCain in a McCain vs Hillary election. I'd like to democratic this november, but I won't vote for Hillary.

LJ   March 3rd, 2008 6:14 pm ET

I think its sad that Rush is cheering on a democrat for to leave a fellow democrat "bloodied" for the nominee. Way to go Hillary. Give the republicans ammo if Obama wins and then leave us trying to figure out how to re-spin your "experience" campaign against someone you can't match…Where is the DNC in this? We are handing this back to the Republicans in the fall if this keeps up.

Connor, Kansas   March 3rd, 2008 6:13 pm ET

Well Barack tried to stay above the fray, and run a clean campaign. But there are so many people making money to muddy up the waters.

Whats the matter Rush, not enough attention for your hate-filled radio program?

Oh, well America, it was nice while it lasted.

Barack 08

Alex H   March 3rd, 2008 6:13 pm ET

What is CNN's obsession with Rush Limbaugh? These almost daily updates are completely unnecessary and ARE NOT NEWS.

Anyone who cares what this dj has to say will listen to his radio show.

THIS IS NOT NEWS.

Willie   March 3rd, 2008 6:12 pm ET

First of all, Rush is soooo stupid. There should only be Republican supporters commenting in this blog!! Hillary supporters and Obama supporters should not even stoop to the level of Rush. Comment on a blog that is worth commenting on.

Second, if anybody is polorizing, its both candidates. Obama supporters are running away from Hillary and Hillary supporters are running away from Obama. It is not one candidates fault so we need to stop the polorizing crap.

Lastly, the only way that we can win this election and keep the white house for the next 16 years is to have a Clinton/Obama ticket and then a Obama/? ticket. That is the only way.

MJ   March 3rd, 2008 6:12 pm ET

Stop and Think….Your math looks impressive, but I "believe" you are over estimating the the Obama math. There are, like it or not, Democrats who will NOT vote for Obama. Just as there are Democrats who will NOT vote for Clinton. It is sure to be interesting.

Carol   March 3rd, 2008 6:12 pm ET

I love to listen to Rush on a daily basis. It gives me a good laugh for the day. I surprised he isnt blaming Bill Clinton for Obama doing so well, he has blamed him for everything else that has happened. I don't care for your politics Rush, but I love listening to you anyway. Hillary 2008

Make sense   March 3rd, 2008 6:12 pm ET

Why I think we should vote for Obama:

1: Hillary needs to win by 15-20% tomorrow to make a significant cut of Obama's lead, which is very unlikely;

2: If Hillary stays in the race even she wins tomorrow by small margions , it will not help her to win the nomination and would hurt the democratic party and the country;

3: America should have enough talents so we don't have to go to same family again and again for president.

Alex from IL   March 3rd, 2008 6:11 pm ET

The republicans know how to fight a Clinton. They've been preparing for this for years. Against obama though, they're SoL.

Trev   March 3rd, 2008 6:11 pm ET

So Obama supporters want undecided voters to vote for Obama because Rush said to vote for Clinton. Sounds like a campaign that got caught talking out of both sides of its mouth on NAFTA trying to change the subject.

Hillary 08

Sam Rose   March 3rd, 2008 6:11 pm ET

Limbaugh is just stirring the pot—

Republicans voting for Clinton?
what a joke—-they are the primary force behind Bills impeachment–of course people seemed to have forgot about that—

Obama '08

Wayne   March 3rd, 2008 6:11 pm ET

Hillary supporters arent that bright. They are playing right into Republicans hands. Didnt someone say that Dems are skiled at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I didnt believe it but now that I see how vicious Bill and Hillary are at slandering this young, hopeful, talented and politician in Barack Obama I know understand. The Clintons are in it for themselves. America or the Democratic party do not matter to them. Inspite of their 8 years in the White House they feel entitled to 8 more. It is a strange thing to see. It is amazing that Hill supporters dont understnad that she doesnt have any chance of winning the general. Blacks will stay home, Youth will stay home and millions of Republicans will come out to vote against her. If Hillary sweeps tomorrow get ready for 4 years of President McCain.

Sue Butterfield   March 3rd, 2008 6:10 pm ET

great thinking Rush . Keep up the great work . I lkie the way you put ideas together.

Anonymous   March 3rd, 2008 6:10 pm ET

Limbaugh is a tool. Vote for the person you believe is best qualified for this most critical job.

connie   March 3rd, 2008 6:10 pm ET

Hey, are you trying to get people to vote for Hillary hoping that they will vote for Obama so that then if Obama wins and IF McCain wins voters will then by default choose to vote Republican?

Tom in MA   March 3rd, 2008 6:09 pm ET

I have to laugh. The Obama people thought it was great that the press was ganging up on Hillary. Now that their cadidate is getting just a taste of it they are going bonkers!

If Rush Limbaugh says for Repubs to vote for Hillary, he probably wants just the opposite. He knows Obama will be a pushover for the Repubs.. He just wants Hillary to soften him up so they can deliver the coup de grace.

Ann   March 3rd, 2008 6:09 pm ET

I knew this was coming. She is letting her ego ruin the party. By the time this is done, The Republicans will have a landslide. She would sell her soul ( if she had one) to the devil to get this.
You have young people finally interested in what is going on and we are going to ruin it. Play dirty Hillary , you are showing what it is really like to these kids and we will lose them.

Hillary and Hillary Only   March 3rd, 2008 6:09 pm ET

This must be from the Obama camp. His polls are now dropping this week and he has to do anything to win the nomination. This is sad. And whoever does this is insane and low. CNN doesn't need to post this as news. REJECT IT 100%

Sean Chong   March 3rd, 2008 6:09 pm ET

Talking about the ability to win over bi-partisan votes…. Obama used to say that he could win over Republicans and Independents…

Brian   March 3rd, 2008 6:08 pm ET

Good. This will help Obama. Limbaugh is proving that Obama is the likely nominee, while giving Democratic voters a fresh reason to NOT vote for her. Limbaugh and Coulter for Clinton = everyone else for Obama.

Jama OHIO   March 3rd, 2008 6:06 pm ET

I will vote for Hillary to get the unknown OBama out of the race. Republicans follow tomorow. Great strategy Rush.

Celina   March 3rd, 2008 6:06 pm ET

There is one thing we need to get straight: Obama did not DENY that his FINANCIAL ADVISER met with the Canadian Govt. READ THE ARTICLE MORE CAREFULLY! He stated that he WAS NOT AWARE THAT THEY EVEN MET. THE FACT THAT THIS INFORMATION IS NEWS TO THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT, GOOLSBEE, AND OBAMA SHOULD SPEAK VOLUMES AGAINST THE PERSONAL INTERPRETATION OF AN UNAMED "DIPLOMAT" AS CONVEYED IN A MEMO. Do we even know who this person is or what their interest is in this matter? And why do they care so much about the U.S. presidential election that they would go out of their way to inform the media? There are so many holes in this story, it's crazy!

Marilyn (Independent)   March 3rd, 2008 6:06 pm ET

For all you non-critical thinking Clinton supporters, wake up! The ONLY reason this guy is calling for all republicans to vote for Clinton tomorrow is that they want her to win so that they can take her down. The repubs have more dirt on Clinton than they do on Obama and it would be easier for them to throw the dirt as they already have a laundry list of mud to fling her way. This is not a good thing.

It's sad that some "conservatives" have so little confidence in their own candidates that they resort to these kind of tactics. Perhaps a conservative with integrity (Limbaugh would have no understanding of this) would win based on issues and honesty.

Steph   March 3rd, 2008 6:04 pm ET

Mike Mitchell   March 3rd, 2008 6:03 pm ET

McCain was right. Rush is a clown.

Rose - Baltimore, MD   March 3rd, 2008 6:03 pm ET

Well you will not have Clinton, Obama is the man you will face in November and he will beat you fair and square. He will have the democrates, independent and even republicans vote for him. Thanks for the eye opener Rush! I hope Dems are paying attention to this. We've been silly tearing each other apart, we now need to unite and Hillary needs to go home!

Roland   March 3rd, 2008 6:03 pm ET

I thought the rules in Texas primary stipulated that if you vote in a party primary, you're obligated to vote for that party nominee in the general election?

Charlotte   March 3rd, 2008 6:03 pm ET

A vote for Obama is a vote for America. Otherwise, we will have to put up with the Dittoheads of the world.

This is all a game for multi-millionaire Rush. What does he care who wins. His ratings will go up whether there is a Republican or a Democrat in office. I've even heard him brag about buying an expensive flat screen television, so that he could try it out for the rest of us, until the price of the flat screens went down. What a piece of work.

It's time for folks to get serious and decide what kind of America they want. One filled with hatred and distain, or a united voice that will say "Enough of the politics of self-interest".

It's your choice, America.

John   March 3rd, 2008 6:01 pm ET

Wow! on the eve of Texas and Ohio primaries, some of the believers think Rush is serious! Republicans don't vote Democrats, especially for Presidency as it chuggs along on the Dems.side.Independents can do that, but that is another topic to analyze when the campaign is over! So Hillary, soldiers, keep on your support and in the end we shall be victorious.Go HiLary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go!!!Go

Tim   March 3rd, 2008 6:01 pm ET

Are you kidding me? Is this Survivor or some other lame reality TV show? What kind of backwards strategy is this? Vote for someone you dont like because it helps beat the other person you dont like even more? This is silly. Vote for the candidate you want to represent you. No more of these mind games and twisted "strategery". I can't stand Rush.

Ayyub, Richmond, Va   March 3rd, 2008 6:01 pm ET

This is an endorsement I'm happy for Hillary to take. He knows the GOP can beat her.

Greg   March 3rd, 2008 6:00 pm ET

Limbaugh is clearly an idiot, and his logic is absolutely NOT valid nor logical. Hillary will win Texas, Ohio, and Rhode Island without the ignorant republican vote Rush is suggesting.

Despite Obama raising more money than Hillary, Hillary will be the nominee and the next President because she isn't afraid to show the flaws of her opponents like McCain. Limbaugh even says Republicans don't have the stomach for it, CLEARLY Hillary is the toughest candidate left. Doesn't that speak loud enough when she is a women and the strongest one left?

Genia (KY)   March 3rd, 2008 6:00 pm ET

Of course the Republicans want Hillary to win because, if she does, they have a better chance of McClain winning in November… DAA!! They know that Obama will beat McClain hands down! SInce Hillary is just more of the same old Washington group, she will just give us more of the same, and will only work for what will help HER! She talks about experience…. HA…. She has had experience tagging along on her husband's coat… her experience did not begin until she became Senator. Obama has served in both his State Legislature plus as Congressional Senator, plus he has had a LOT of experience working one-on-one with people in his home state!

JEFF   March 3rd, 2008 6:00 pm ET

Obama needs to be fried alive on the campaign trail; he doesn't deserve to be the next president of the United States. Every time the Clinton camp attacks him his camp always answer with the same style and negative campaign. He said he will bridge GOP and Democrat, but on their debates with Hillary, he always murmured every time Hillary talks – a rude way on countering his rival. And his campaign message is hollow: he's promising of nothing for the future. Hope? Hope is hope; it is not a reality. Change? Change is constant. Anybody can make a change. Believe? Believe you can hope for that he isarticulating his words to hook voters in his fantasy.

angel   March 3rd, 2008 5:59 pm ET

It is sad that in the oldest democratic country in the world we have individuals like rush…Innocent as may sound we Americans still believe in the possibility of a fair play…it was that same trick that we end up with a president without winning….(technicality—-remember?), the same trick that make us go to war ( false reasons)….Let me remind you mr.rush..people like you are able to create another Vietnam,,just because your abilities of venting your poison….please….Rush give a chance to decency and take a break..

max   March 3rd, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Other than Obama is right for the job, this is a huge reason to vote for Obama 08′!!!! Stick it to that fat windbag and beat the tar out of the bush-bot repukes …

8 years of hosting white house dinners, kicking off the white house easter egg hunt and washing black cocktail dresses does NOT constitute experience … NO MORE BUSH-BOTS OR BILLARYS !!!

Josh, FL   March 3rd, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Rush just wants something to talk about because he clearly lacks anything worth listening to. Gotta love how Republicans view liberals as evil. Just goes to show the extent of their megalomania since they all think they're gods. Keep popping those hillbilly herion pills, Rush. Once you pop, you can't stop.

RFI Santa Rosa CA   March 3rd, 2008 5:59 pm ET

It seems that CNN agrees. The Situation Room is highlighting negative stories about Obama, which have already have been addressed before: the statement that someone aledgedly made to Canadian officials and the real estate deal in Chicago.

SOOO SAD...   March 3rd, 2008 5:59 pm ET

THIS WHOLE PRIMARY SEASON 9 SINCE OBAMA STARTED WINNING AND BECAME A SERIOUS CONTENDER) REMINDS ME OF ANOTHER PWRIOD WHEN AMERICA WAS SO POLARIZED…THE O.J. SIMPSON TRIALS.

WHY ARE CLINTON SUPPORTERS SUCH OBAMA HATERS?????????

IT'S SOOOOOOO SAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Truly   March 3rd, 2008 5:59 pm ET

We know that Obama won for the Red states because there is a bias that Republicans have told their members to vote for Obama, and this happen now in Texas and Ohio.

Republican love Obama vs McCain, because a lot of craps they can throw in general election to Obama like: Obama's ties to indicted developer Tony Rezko and former Weather Underground radical William Ayersfor .

So all of you Democrats don't get fool by polls say Obama will win vs Mc.Cain. Obama could NEVER beat McCain in the national election, that's for sure! GO HILLARY!

Barbara   March 3rd, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Why give this blowhard any airtime at all? Cover the important endorsements, CNN.

Cyril, London   March 3rd, 2008 5:58 pm ET

I agree with "Stop and Think"

If Clinton somehow wins the nomination thanks to her appalling negative tactics, many of the young and new voters inspired by Obama will melt away and not turn out for Clinton in November.

Her behaviour has been a disgrace – again today she deliberately tried to add fuel to the false rumours that Obama is a Muslim. I was a big fan of Bill Clinton, but the behaviour of his wife will destroy the party. McCain must be delighted with what the Democratic party establishment is doing to its brightest star since JFK.

Dave   March 3rd, 2008 5:58 pm ET

God there are some stupid people here. Hillary has been a villian of the republicans since 1992. Nothing would rally them more to vote for McCain than for Hillary to get the democratic nomination for president! If she can't beat Obama, who is a gentleman, she'll never beat McCain, who is a true fighter and will stop at nothing to win the presidency and lead this country down the drain forever…

Bill   March 3rd, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Anonymous is right, but I do not believe Clinton supporters hate Obama supporters. We are just tired of the constant Clinton bashing that has no basis in fact.NONE. Its been downright nasty. This is a women who has dedicated her life to public service and the lack of respect on these blogs is amazing, since I can bet many of these writers do very little in their own communities. I actually have friends who support Obama, but do not resort to the vile that is spewed by on-line bloggers..

Hillary 08

Kip Omaha, NE   March 3rd, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Jack, apparently you haven't seen that Obama fairs much better in polls against McCain that Hillary. The fact is that in a general election Hillary has many more skeletons in the closet to bring out than Barack. Democrats need to see that the longer we divide ourselves, the more likely it is that we will have another Republican president. It is clear that we are ready for change as a country, and any continued support of Hillary just damages this party. At this point she is a long shot at best. If you want a Democratic president vote for Barack, as he can win where Hillary can't. Don’t play into Rush Limbaugh and the Republican Party’s attempts to divide a nation in need of new leadership.

Obama 08

Mr. B.   March 3rd, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Of course he wants the Democrats to vote for Hilliary.

It is a fact that McCain has a better chance against Hilliary….hello !

I hope that the inteligent people understand this one .

Audrey   March 3rd, 2008 5:58 pm ET

go away Limbaugh. You are a joke. Who is going to listen to you. Hillary and her supporters can handle the primary. Recent polls show she is up in both Ohio and Texas. Just don't listen to him.

Richard, St. Paul, MN   March 3rd, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Dingbat Limbaugh is exemplifying everything that's wrong with the Republican party: dissent, argumentative, and heads up their rectums. They don't want to fix any of the issues that have gone wrong under idiot Bush, they just want to keep the chaos going, let the economy sink, waste even more trillions of our tax dollars in Iraq and generally work as obstructionists and terrorists against America.

Limbaugh   March 3rd, 2008 5:57 pm ET

Hey – Hillary will take your votes – If Obama is the nominee I will vote for McCain and if Hillary gets to be the nominee she will be the next President. Thank you Rush (even though I know its sooo hard for you to ask). Oh please!!

s.m, harrisonburg virginia   March 3rd, 2008 5:56 pm ET

There is no critical nature to any election. Only intestinal steam escaping orally. Anonymous is right. The degree of polarity exhibited as a country is downright foolhardy and shows just how immature we are. It is a shame that tragedy is the only thing that unifies us as a country,,,,and that it only lasts about 3 weeks at a time. Oh,,,,,,i almost forgot! Go Obama.
And rush limbaugh is a sad little man with even sadder people that believe what he says. Rush, take a week off and go do something nice for someone else. It probably won't keep you from groveling at the gates of heaven but it certainly couldn't hurt. And you may learn the most important lesson this life has to offer.

Rand   March 3rd, 2008 5:56 pm ET

If I'm not mistaken, this proposed cross-over just to affect the outcome of an election sounds like election tampering and is illegal. The justice department should pounce on Limbaugh for even suggesting it.
Home of the free and brave Rush??? Scared Rush? Can't win by playing an honest game so you resort to whatever underhanded ploy that seeps out. What a piece of work!

Real_Democrat   March 3rd, 2008 5:56 pm ET

While I despise Limbaugh and think he certainly does not deserve our attention, I don't think we can _afford_ to ignore him, or we will, (once again) go broke overestimating the intelligence of the American people. Limbaugh is contemptible and stupid, but that doesn't change the fact that his followers are a factor. We ought to have learned by now that we _cannot_ afford to ignore the contemptible and stupid.

Limbaugh's followers obey him blindly and the Republicans already have their candidate, which means a whole lot of Republicans could potentially cross over. This is a _serious_ problem, not only because Hillary is the weaker of the Democratic candidates, but also because Republicans are interfering with our primary.

Whether or not you support Hillary, you have to be concerned about the fact that this fanatic is BLATANTLY tampering with the Democratic primary.

Clinton raised such a fuss about Farrakhan's saying he supports Obama, so I'd like to know what she plans to do about this.

Ethan   March 3rd, 2008 5:55 pm ET

So, since the Republican primary is more or less wrapped up, Republican voters are free to vote in the Dem primaries to:

A) Vote for the candidate that they believe will most likely lose to McCain, or

B) Vote for the candidate that will cause the Dem primaries to continue to advantage the Republicans. (which it seems is Clinton in either case)

Is this true democracy or voter fraud? And Rush thinks this will be "fun"? Despicable.

Skip   March 3rd, 2008 5:55 pm ET

Not surprised at all by Rush!!! He wants the theater to continue – it's great fodder for his ratings. He's an entertainer.

Karen   March 3rd, 2008 5:55 pm ET

OBAMA 08′

John Martin   March 3rd, 2008 5:55 pm ET

This should be proof for any Republican Conservative who believes in the Democratic system of government that this man will use your vote as a game, to have fun and make money. . Every person should vote for the candidate that they beleive will best serve America AND the world. This is the most dishonest man on the radio. Anyone who supports him, does a disservice to this great country.Boycott this pundit and send a message to America that you're vote is precious and will only be used for the candidate that you believe should be President as only an honest America would

Concerned Canadian   March 3rd, 2008 5:54 pm ET

I'm not surprised by these turns of events in the media. If CNN, Newsweek, Meet The Press, NBC, ABC, CBS, Washington Post,
Chicago Tribune , all the radio stations, etc., did their news coverage responsibly and ethically we wouldn't have this twisted unseemingly ongoing political primary battle.

Thank you very much media. You guys get an atta boy !!

Gabriel   March 3rd, 2008 5:54 pm ET

You have to admit that Rush Limbaugh and the Republicans are better at this than Democrats.

The Republicans know that a long Democratic primary will split the party and keep 1/2 of them home in November, or make 1/2 of them cross over in disgust over the result.

And have you seen the latest reports out of the Clinton camp? She has no intention of conceding regardless of the resutls. She only cares about herself, and not her party. If she were a Republican, they would've buried her after Tuesday.

It's brilliant.

Harry   March 3rd, 2008 5:54 pm ET

Oh and McCain won't even come close… This general election will be a landslide….

JP   March 3rd, 2008 5:54 pm ET

Thank you, Rush. Just another reason Democrats will turn out strongly for Obama.

Yes we can. This is a campaign of hope and change, not hate and divisiveness and yesterday. Let's turn the page and be proud of our candidate and Country.

EFabian   March 3rd, 2008 5:54 pm ET

Also 2 more admirals endorsed Hillary today taking her military endoresments phenomenal. She has about 30 flag officers, generals, admirals all stating she is the BEST possible candidate.

I take their words over Rush Limbaugh's any day of the week.

GO Hill

Jerry Arvada, Co   March 3rd, 2008 5:54 pm ET

People have got to vote FOR someone or thing, not AGAINST it! Remember it was Rummy, Dummy and Dick who got us into the mess we are in today not Hil and BO.

Melissa   March 3rd, 2008 5:53 pm ET

unfortunatelly, I agree with Rush, that it will be very difficult to criticize Obama because they are afraid of being called racists. wich is unfair, if a person is running for President, then all should be free to challenge the candidate.

JP   March 3rd, 2008 5:53 pm ET

Thank you, ush. Just another reason Democrats will turn out strongly for Obama.

Yes we can. This is a campaign of hope and change, not hate and divisiveness and yesterday. Let's turn the page and be proud of our candidate and Country.

Bill   March 3rd, 2008 5:53 pm ET

I can not believe Lisa above who says she was going to vote for Hillary, but will not now because of this stupid story. Do you really think Clinton wants Rush's support. Please people. I doubt Lisa was a Clinton supporter to begin with.

People should vote for Hillary because she is the best qualified to clean up the mess this country is in. Two wars, healthcare in turmoil, and a sinking economy. Texas,Vermont,Rhode Island, and Ohio voters, just look at the gas of price on your way to vote tommorow. When Bush came into office, gas was 1.05 a gallon. Its now hovering between 3.50 and 4.00 a gallon. Jim Cramer of Mad Money on CNN says Hillary is the best person to fix the economy…hands down.

Hillary is the best choice not only for these states, but for all of America.

Hillary 08

juan Dominguez from Texas   March 3rd, 2008 5:53 pm ET

Tomorrow we'll show that probably the biggest mistake of Hillary's campaign is taken the latino vote as granted. We vote for ideas and Barack Obama will change this country for better.

GO BARACK OBAMA

VIVA BARACK OBAMA!!! Mi voto es tuyo!!!

Charlotte   March 3rd, 2008 5:53 pm ET

By the way, ever think this might be reverse psychology. They can't beat Hillary and they know it. I'll take the votes of Republicians. Obama doesn't have a problem with them, aren't they what he calls Obamacains

chris   March 3rd, 2008 5:53 pm ET

Steph, nobody "deserves" the presidency, and that's what disgusts me about Clinton. It's public office, to serve US. It's not about validating somebody's belief that they deserve this office based on what they've done so far. Nobody deserves it. Nobody.

a Sokol   March 3rd, 2008 5:53 pm ET

keep hillary in this as long as possible. it will help unravel obama. she will not quit even with losses in texas and ohio. but i hope she wins just to make it take longer.

Gabe   March 3rd, 2008 5:53 pm ET

I hope that Limbaugh's comments force more Dems to show up and vote for Obama. Rush is a racist idiot.

Catrina R., CA.   March 3rd, 2008 5:53 pm ET

Dishonest and unethical. Rush is not a good representation of the Republican party.

me   March 3rd, 2008 5:52 pm ET

Personally I don't think that the Republicans can beat Obama or Clinton because the turnout numbers are so much higher in the Democratic side.
So let's just forget about this loser (shame on you CNN for even posting this garbage).
Here is to Tuesday and whatever it brings!

Bryant Lister   March 3rd, 2008 5:52 pm ET

Limbaugh doesn't care who wins in the end. His interest is solely in getting more people listening to his radio show. If he was to bark like a dog to get attention he will do it, if he has to mock a person with Parkinson's he will do it, if he has to tell people to vote for someone he previously insulted he will do it. The point is that giving any attention to what Limbaugh is giving him what he wants. The best thing to do is ignore the blowhard until he goes away.

Bob   March 3rd, 2008 5:52 pm ET

How in the WORLD do you let Fla and Mich count? They agreed that they wouldn't count…. The KNEW they wouldn't count…. The Florida Presidential Election fiasco of 2000 cost the Democrats the White house…. NOW the latest example of this states ineptitude will likely split the party and cause millions (YES MILLIONS) of Democratic Party members to leave…. What a pathetic turn of events…. Changing the rules after the game has been played or is still in progress sounds like a Republican trick… To have the Dems resort to such is disgusting… Maybe all of us will just get over to the GOP and bring a more liberal agenda that will dominate the scene over the next several decades and virtually eliminate the Democratic Party. The theft of the nomination by The clintons will result in a HUGE defection from the party… Insure John McCains victory in November AND prove
what a horribly divisive and unprincipaled candidate the Junior senator from NY is…..

deb in az   March 3rd, 2008 5:52 pm ET

this man can say what he likes, but it doesnt mean you have to listen. some of you with your remarks act as if you have never heard this nonsense before… yes we can what?????????? not take a stand on issues that we vote on ask bho about it

EFabian   March 3rd, 2008 5:52 pm ET

Limbaugh is ridiculous and his comment doesn't change the fact that I am voting for Hillary for several reasons.

GO GO GO HILLARY

NO NO NOBAMA.

Adam Orlando Florida   March 3rd, 2008 5:51 pm ET

Hillary has my Vote! Lets go Hillary! You are making positive changes to your campaign staff, and it is showing! Lets get to the White house!

Terry, Butte, Montana   March 3rd, 2008 5:51 pm ET

I would hope Hillary would denounce and reject this psuedo-endorsement.

Reguardless of who wins the Democratic nomination the republicans lose. The only reason coulter and Limbaugh are turning their attention to Clinton is because they have no candidate this year that supports their wacked out, nut job agenda. Thank god!!!!

Micke   March 3rd, 2008 5:50 pm ET

Republicans – Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and Bill Cunningham endorses Hillary!

Um, I'd rather have the support of Farrakhan or Darth Vader…

Ben Caughran   March 3rd, 2008 5:50 pm ET

This should be enough to tip the scales in Obama's favour.

Darth Vadik, CA   March 3rd, 2008 5:50 pm ET

Keep America Safe?

What a stupid slogan this is…

Here's a news falsh for some of you in the south with guns:

The people from overseas who flew palnes into buildings would attack New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles etc etc etc.

People that will attack you little town in the middle of the bible belt is your right wing crazy neighbor who will shoot up a mall.

SO PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THE GODS AND ALL RELIGIONS, STAY OUT OF THE WAY OF THE SANE PEOPLE, PLEASE. GO BACK TO YOUR CAN SHOOTING OR WHATEVER YOU DO.

glenda   March 3rd, 2008 5:50 pm ET

i think limbaugh is a jerk, if hillary doesnt win texas and ohio i think she should give it up and rally around her party. the reason the republicans wont huckabee to stay in the race is they no macain is not a win able canidate. people dont wont another bush and thats what macain is ,wait until the real campain starts bush is going to be shocked on how bad the republican john macain looses then maybe bush will see how much he is disliked. Glenda .

brad   March 3rd, 2008 5:50 pm ET

He is a sick man playing games with this. If this doesn't get it to you Rush followers I don't know what will.

Darrel McGuire   March 3rd, 2008 5:49 pm ET

Having been a life long Democrat I am sad to say that I will never vote for another Clinton as long as I live. Does Hillary believe that America wants a President who can pull more dirty tricks than the other candidate? It's sad that her campaign is desperate and even more sad to see the media follow all of her tricks. Hillary says she's just getting warmed up. Well guess what, America does not care. We have heard enough, we want our voices heard.

Darrel McGuire

Shut your fat trap Rush. Get a life! Moron!

Rush Limbargh have you ever listen to this mans show?
he donot like demacrates and truly donot like black folk
so we know he think we are fools yet he is ignorent . the better
choice , before you go out to vote tomorrow be sure to think
honesty open your mind let your heart and mind guide you
not me or no one else exspecially not this fool

sharon adkins   March 3rd, 2008 5:49 pm ET

hillary clinton is way ahead of the game when it comes to knowing what can and cannot be changed after becoming the president. She has been there, common sense should tell the public that the issues she talks about changing can happen. She's not giving the public false hope she is so real.

Obama08   March 3rd, 2008 5:46 pm ET

This Obama supporter thanks you, Rush, for pointing out what I have known for months… let's hope Hillary gets wind of this and does the honorable thing.

Anonymous   March 3rd, 2008 5:44 pm ET

This is ridiculous. How did we get to the point that we're so divided as a country? We are of course talking about trying to elect the best person to lead the country not arguing over who we want to win the superbowl. To be this polarized as a country cannot lead anywhere positive. Republicans despise Democrats and vice versa. Clinton supporters despise Obama supporters and vice versa. I think we all just need to mature a bit as a country.

Jack   March 3rd, 2008 5:44 pm ET

Obama could NEVER beat McCain in the national election, that's for sure! GO HILLARY!

David, Boca Raton, FL   March 3rd, 2008 5:44 pm ET

This is an acceptable point if Obama was close to the evil that Hillary is. Though I disagree with many of his ideals and I believe that he is incredibly green, the fact of the matter is he isn't as intellectually inept and emotionally challenged as Hillary Clinton. I think this would be a mistake, granted Clinton would be the easier opponent to defeat it surely would not be a romp and I would rather have her with no chance at winning than the slightest.

Delia   March 3rd, 2008 5:44 pm ET

THE FACT IS I'M NOT VOTING FOR OBAMA, OTHER THAN THAT I'M UNDECIDED. I WANT AMERICA KEPT SAFE. MCCAIN HAS THE EXPERIENCE, SO DOES HILLARY RODEM CLINTON. SHE HAS THE MILITARY BACKING OUR TROOPS NEED. HUCKABEE IS NOT OUT, AS FOR NADER HIS RUNNING MATE SHOT ANY CHANCE HE HAD, NOT THAT HE HAD ONE. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN BEFORE NOVEMBER NO MATTER WHO THE NOMINEE. SO I MUST MAKE A DECISION NOT ON A PRIMARY BUT WHAT HAPPENS IF AND THAT MEANS I MUST CONSIDER WHO THEIR RUNNING MATE WILL BE. WE WON'T KNOW THAT UNTIL THE NOMINEE IS CHOSEN. BASED ON THAT I MUST CONSIDER WHO THE CANDIDATE IS SUPPORTED BY, WHAT THEIR STAND IS NOW, WHO IS SUPPORTING THEM ON INTELLIGENCE NOT EMOTION. I CAN'T SUPPORT OBAMA BECAUSE OF WHO HAS ENDORSED HIM……KENNEDY, ROCKEFELLER, FARRAKAHN ETC. HIS RISK IS TOO HIGH RIGHT NOW DUE TO THE CRITICAL NATURE OF THIS ELECTION. HE CAN PROVE HIMSELF IN THE FUTURE AND BE GIVEN ANOTHER CHANCE, FOR NOW, HE'S SIMPLY NOT TESTED ENOUGH AND PROVEN HE CAN BE TRUSTED.

THAT IS HOW I JUDGE HIM, NOT OUT FOREVER, BUT OUT FOR THIS ELECTION.

gerry   March 3rd, 2008 5:44 pm ET

is that what the level we have lowered ourselves to? supposedly intelligent human beings trying to fix a presidential election. no wonder there are so many apathetic people around. i am ashamed of my countries political process.

Stop and Think   March 3rd, 2008 5:44 pm ET

Right now Democrats need to shut up think about who can beat John McCain. Hillary is simply too polarizing to bring Independents over to her side. In November, she'll get:

- About 3/4 of Democrats (the other 1/4 are Obama supporters for McCain)
- About 1/8 of Independents
- About ZERO percent of Republicans.

Barack Obama will get

- Well over 90% of Democrats
- 3/4 of Independents
- Maybe 1/6 of Republicans

Barack Obama can beat McCain! Clinton can't! If you want for more years of Republican rule, vote for Clinton.

joseph   March 3rd, 2008 5:44 pm ET

Thomas March 3rd, 2008 5:09 pm ET

I cannot wait for the day that I do not have to see the smug, fat face of this drug abusing hypocrit, and his ignorant colleagues like Ann Coulter, Hannity, Glenn Beck. Whats funny is that they think they are these great right-wing saviours who know what is best for America, but they are actually contributing to the decline of America by spewing their distorted and non-factual hate.

Hey this is America you Already dont have to see their smug, fat faces, just change the channel. Im sure you can handle that, and you dont need Hope and Change to do it.

Steph   March 3rd, 2008 5:44 pm ET

The sad thing is that Hillary really does deserve the Democratic nomination and Limb. is trying to make a mockery of her. As a woman, I take offense to this.

Charlotte   March 3rd, 2008 5:43 pm ET

Thanks Rush, I hope you have some pull, we need Hillary to win by as many votes as possible. We believe as you do, it's Hillary or McCain for us. Obama-bots are running scared now, with the NAFTA flub of Obamas finally getting the attention it deserves. Go Hillary!

linda   March 3rd, 2008 5:43 pm ET

Can someone tell me about Hillary 'records. I hear about Sen. Obama all time. What has she done.

Hal   March 3rd, 2008 5:43 pm ET

This is just one more indicator that Hillary is closer to the policies of George Bush and the Right Wing than either Obama or McCain. If you support someone because of their gender you are no better than those who would vote against her because she is a woman.

Poor judgement, poor leadership, poor fiscal management, prone to tantrums and the ultimate panderer. Hillary is the DNC's version of George dubya.

newz4i   March 3rd, 2008 5:43 pm ET

Limbaughtimzed minds ….

Danielle   March 3rd, 2008 5:43 pm ET

CNN, of course you would print this non-news item. It's another attempt to smear Hillary because you are so blatantly pro-Obama. We get it.
But no self-respecting journalist would honestly run a story on what Rush Limbaugh says because he is irrelevant.

CarmeninCali   March 3rd, 2008 5:43 pm ET

Ohio, it's time for you to exercise your civic duty. Here are a few words of encouragement:
1. Just becasue you're at the pivot table in the campaign doesn't mean you owe anyone your vote.
2.Only YOU own your vote.
3.Trust your gut instincts.
4.The politicians are at your service, it's not the other way around.
5.Get your act together, finish the votes EARLY. We all know what Buckeye time is. Do it as quickly and as efficiently so that Texas can take the heat this year.

Belinda   March 3rd, 2008 5:43 pm ET

Hey Josh

Republicans aren't stupid. That's why Obama gets our REAL VOTE because he doesn't demonize us or try to do identity politics like you Hillary supporters.

Jed in Texas   March 3rd, 2008 5:42 pm ET

Someone please tell Rush that mental illness can be treated, but not with what ever he is taking .

WeAreForObama   March 3rd, 2008 5:42 pm ET

Rush: In addition to other air-polluters; you are another one. Even good Dogs do not bark as much as you do. All you do is shout in the air and pollute the air! Stop polluting air! You are an idiot! Get off the Air! Stop maddling into Demoractic Process!

Conservative Girl   March 3rd, 2008 5:42 pm ET

Limbaugh is a conservative fraud. No conservative in their right mind would set aside their beliefs and principals to vote for someone completely opposite of their views. Why give the Democrats the satisfaction of STEALING your precious vote? If you want a Republican with conservative values that can stand up to the Democrats in November, vote for Mike Huckabee. He can still win by taking this to a brokered convention. Limbaugh should be charged for conservative treason for recommending people play chess games with their vote. He has lost all credibility.

Ry W   March 3rd, 2008 5:42 pm ET

The Republican talking heads know that McCain would have a much easier time against Clinton than Obama.

They want Clinton to get the nomination because she's a polarizing figure that would whip up enough hate in the Republican "base" to get them to come out and vote for McCain.

Hillary or McCain = "More of the Same"

I'll vote for someone that hasn't been part of the Washington Money machine for over 20 years thank you.

Nacy   March 3rd, 2008 5:42 pm ET

He is racist, greedy, ignorant, extremist talk show radio host, who have been trying to brainwash people with their illogical cries for "family values" claiming they support hard work while jobs fly over sees we are almost 3 trillion dollars in debt, 47 millions americans don't have health care as they continue to defend this broken republican government for the past decades, their just rewards.

I urge all americans to bycott these fundamental extremists.

Vote for BARACK OBAMA.
A man with a million qualities.
World has not seen anything like before.
It will send a strong signal for the whole world leaders to engage in
right kind of democracy.

Vote for BARACK OBAMA.
God bless him.

Belle   March 3rd, 2008 5:42 pm ET

Excuse me…wasn't it the Republican Talk Show Hosts that asked their listeners to VOTE HILLARY vs. McCain…???

That Clinton was MORE Conservative than McCain?

The race IS TOO CLOSE TO CALL…those that are asking Hillary to drop out because she is Behind 102 Delegates…SHAME ON YOU!

No one was asking OBAMA to drop out when he was behind 100+ delegates….the race is NOT OVER UNTIL THE FINISH LINE…

Sorry McCain, you are not as good as Clinton, but certainly you could easily BEAT OBAMA….especially with his Rezko dealings…and his Flatly DENYING a NAFTA meeting ever happened….until he got caught…that is.

Kristina   March 3rd, 2008 5:42 pm ET

So…. is Hillary going to "DENOUNCE and REJECT" a Limbaugh endorsement?

Mark   March 3rd, 2008 5:41 pm ET

People still listen to Rush?

This is typical of Rush as his "Republicans must win at all costs" platform continues down its road to hell.

Partisanship at its bloody worst. Rush is definitely part of the problem and not part of the solution.

Christopher   March 3rd, 2008 5:41 pm ET

Limbaugh is not fooling anybody.
Republicans will be afraid regardless of who the Democratic nominee turns out to be.
Just look at what Bush has done to this country. It will take at least two 4-year terms to cean up the mess.

McCAIN IS MORE AFRAID OF SENATOR CLINTON THAN OBAMA!

A REPORTER THAT SPENT A DAY WITH ALL THREE CANDIDATES, SAID THAT TODAY ON THE VIEW!

THE REPUBLICANS WANT IT TO BE OBAMA!

SO THEY CAN TEAR HIM DOWN, AND GET IN THE OFFICE AGAIN!!!!

GOD HELP US!!!!!!

GO SENATOR CLINTON! YOU HAVE MY VOTE!!!!!!!!!

Ken in Dallas   March 3rd, 2008 5:41 pm ET

Republicans are voting for Obama in the open-primary states. They want Obama in the general election, because they're gonna kneecap him in September if they get the chance.

Peps   March 3rd, 2008 5:41 pm ET

Hillary should denounce and reject Rush Limbaugh's "support". Obama for president!

J.K.   March 3rd, 2008 5:41 pm ET

A: Coulter and Limbaugh see her as a viable alternative to McCain
B: They believe McCain will do better against her than Obama

Either way this should be an easy call for sincere Democrats.

Mary   March 3rd, 2008 5:41 pm ET

Did Rush say this with or without painkillers?

Chris from SANEville, USA   March 3rd, 2008 5:41 pm ET

"I want our party to win I want the Democrats to lose." Uh wouldn't you want the best candidate OVERALL to win? What a fat piece of…well you know I'm talking about.

Typical republican BS they can't play the games unless they cheat and lie.

Betawny   March 3rd, 2008 5:39 pm ET

it's not gonna work. the GOP has already put McCain in the WH by wisely voting for Obama in the open primaries, thereby ensuring that moderate Dems such as me vote vote GOP in the fall. No way I'd vote for "more liberal than Kennedy" Obama.

Ginger M.   March 3rd, 2008 5:35 pm ET

Even if Hillary manages to beat Obama in a close tie race, Obama will still beat Hillary – He's too far ahead and Hillary is losing superdelegates. Her only hope is to play this game like a Republican – Cheat, Lie, Steal, and tie up the courts with lawsuits that scream "whiner/sore loser".

james martin california   March 3rd, 2008 5:34 pm ET

How foolish some are. 60 min. had to tell a voter Obama was not a muslim. One of the writer wants to say that Rezko is a fund raiser. Clintons want Obama to be conspiring with the Canadians. As Billy boy said give me a break. Clintons have thrown the kitchen sink now they are in the outhouse up to their elbows. Good-by Hillary go back and party with your husbands partners, playmates and bedfellows in the middle east business culture.

OBAMA 2008

Eileen Kusler   March 3rd, 2008 5:34 pm ET

Rush Limbaugh urges a perversion of what an election should be. He wants to wage a psychological form of warfare to watch both Obama and Clinton squirm. He wants to bring out the worst in Hillary by giving her false hope. And he wants Obama tortured in his hopes for presidency.

Of course, why should a black man think he could be president! Rush wants it to be so ugly no black man in the future will want to run. And he wants a woman to do his dirty work for him.

This is disgusting.

Santiago   March 3rd, 2008 5:34 pm ET

Rush Limbaugh is an ignoramus, he knows that the republicans could easily beat Hillary in the general election, and they know that Obama will win the general election, the people are ready for change and tired of the same old politics in Washington. Come on people its time to turn the page.

Yes we can

Trina   March 3rd, 2008 5:33 pm ET

She's more beatable than Barack. Don't fall for it! Rush has been saying this since last week. CNN is late. He doesn't like McCain. However, he does NOT want a Democrat in the White House. Don't believe his hype!

Obama 08!

dennie   March 3rd, 2008 5:33 pm ET

This is politics at its lowest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is becoming a sad race. Hillary is willing to do anything to win. All this will do is divide the Democrats and let McCain be a shoo in. She just doesn't care how divisive she is. I had a great deal of respect for her until this.

The whole deal is making me sick.

Rushbo the Demagogue   March 3rd, 2008 5:32 pm ET

We have reached a sad state in our democratic process when a popular radio show Republican demagogue uses his influence to try to blatantly influence the primary election in the opposing party. Yes, the open primary system in states like Texas allow cross-over voting, but doing what Rush Limbaugh is promoting, is just plain abusive of our democratic election system. The real solution is to hold closed primaries. Texas Republican Rush-listeners should be appalled by his statements and actions concerning this.

Jill   March 3rd, 2008 5:32 pm ET

Limbaugh is preposterous. What about voting ones' convictions and let the chips fall where they may?

I voted for Mike Huckabee and so will millions of others, and I don't give a cent what Mr. Limbaugh thinks.

PS in VA   March 3rd, 2008 5:32 pm ET

It would be Fun to continue the "soap opera". How can anyone who takes America and their futures seriously listen to this guy. He's not wierd- Rush Limbuagh is destructive and dangerous.

Robin   March 3rd, 2008 5:31 pm ET

Carl Rove attacks Obama. George Bush attacks Obama. John McCain attacks Obama.

Rush Limbaugh supports Hillary. Ann Coulter says she will campaign for Hillary. Bill Cunningham endorses Hillary.

Ginger M.   March 3rd, 2008 5:31 pm ET

Does McCain have a chance in November?

Have you seen stadiums full of people chanting McCain's name?
Have you seen videos praising him?
Have you seen the GOP fawning over him?
Have you seen Independents cheering him on?

I suggest you simply get a grip on reality – The GOP is dead and buried. You are looking at ghosts trying to revive their rotting corpses.

Chris in Midland, TX   March 3rd, 2008 5:31 pm ET

And I'm formally urging people to write in to the various radio stations that broadcast to this self-glorifying blowhard, and ask that he be removed from the airwaves for the good of all humanity.

On a related note, why is CNN giving this idiot yet more attention? Doesn't CNN already give too much time and money to their own in-house right-wing idiot Glenn Beck?

Vig   March 3rd, 2008 5:30 pm ET

Limbaugh, unwittingly, will be doing the country a favor by urging Republics to vote Hillary in Texas. Why? Because that gives the anti-Clinton media a chance to make amends to Clinton and start putting Obama under a microscope. There are enough issues to look at as CNN is FINALLY addressing.

Mischelle from Illinois   March 3rd, 2008 5:30 pm ET

Oh, I have heard it all now. Rush is a closet DEMOCRAT!! I can't believe I would ever utter these words, but THANK YOU RUSH for at least not being "in the tank" for OBAMA like the rest of the media world. So just keep getting out the word, Republicans FOR HILLARY!

Larry Dickman - IA   March 3rd, 2008 5:30 pm ET

joli   March 3rd, 2008 5:30 pm ET

Aw I think Rush is feeling a bit Jan Brady-ish… The RNC knows they dont have to throw low blows at Obama… as there is so much to attack in the way of OBama's legislative history not to mention corruption.

McCain can win this clean against Obama. Moderate conservative are taking back the party from the radicals. Thats the difference between McCain and Bush… get used to it Rush… you are so Circa 2000 & 2004

peter   March 3rd, 2008 5:30 pm ET

Rush says "vote for Clinton….let us continue the soap opera….this will be fun".

Fun.

The king of the talkshow hacks shows why most commercial-radio talk radio hosts are to politics what the WWF is to real sports.

It is all, 100% based on getting the most attention to themselves and their shows for ratings and press.

This is the presidency, for God's sake. And Rush, Hannity, Mark Levin and all the other boorish radio hacks are just interested in the best scenario for their radio programs, not what's best for the country.

These rodeo clowns are disgraceful.

joseph   March 3rd, 2008 5:30 pm ET

Americans are too big for this kind of stupid tricks. The republicans knows that it's only OBAMA that can take back the white house from them and they're scared about that so that is why they're urging people to vote for Hillary cos they know she's no match to them.Sorry,OBAMA is the man. GOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OBAMA.

Steph   March 3rd, 2008 5:29 pm ET

Please stop mocking our political system and grow up.

Learn a higher form of communication or are you trying to be some freaky form of shock jock.

People decide to be Republican bc they are conservative (in more ways than just voting). Please be respectful of that and don't claim to represent us. I think it's good you don't affiliate yourself with John McCain.

Dawn   March 3rd, 2008 5:29 pm ET

Attention folks from Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont. This is exactly the problem……..if you want Hillary to win, but like Obama too, please make the only intelligent choice. Hillary will get beat by McCain. All experts agree that Obama is the democratic candidate that can beat McCain, so wouldn't it make sense to throw our support behind Obama. Let's not allow another republican become president. This is far too dangerous. Please, vote Obama!

Jeremy   March 3rd, 2008 5:29 pm ET

Will Clinton "reject or denounce" the support of Mr. Ditto-head himself?

Vince, Jupiter, Florida   March 3rd, 2008 5:28 pm ET

Limbaugh wants a Republican in 08 because he knows that his supply of narcotics coming out of Afghanistan will not be interrupted. It's a strange day in America when a junkie is calling the plays for the conservative republicans. They all want Hillary because they know they can't beat Obama…

B. Smart   March 3rd, 2008 5:28 pm ET

This is why OBAMA will win. HE is master at deflecting people like Rush Limbaugh, and being done with it. Hillary will only feed the animal, and
keep confusion going. She even has the democrats fighting among themselves. They know that they are no match for Senator Obama.

Obama 08.

sean   March 3rd, 2008 5:28 pm ET

There's no "soap opera"- and this isn't about making the republicans look good while the democrats continue in-fighting. This is about one thing and one thing only: Rush wants Hillary to win the nomination because he knows McCain has a much, much better chance of beating her in the general election- a conclusion that every poll and educted mind seems to agree on.

Juan   March 3rd, 2008 5:28 pm ET

RUSH would divide America if it would up his ratings. I hope people are smart enough to make their own informed choice rather than listen to this idiot. Vote for who YOU think will be the best leader and represent America's interests not the interest of the wealthy (greedy)few.

RKE, Suisun City, CA   March 3rd, 2008 5:28 pm ET

And on top of this, republican Governor Crist of Florida favors a new Democratic primary in his state. The Republicans are hoping for a brokered convention. The Democratic party has failed to get behind either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton. I'm a Democratic. And as much as I want to see a democratic president in the White House, I'm afraid that we will get another four years of Bush-league policies from John McCain. The Democratic party is being very indecisive, and fails yet again to see the big picture. When will we ever learn.

Mike   March 3rd, 2008 5:28 pm ET

Note that this is the FIRST time Republicans have been urged to vote for Clinton. Prior to this, they were being strongly urged to vote for Obama in early voting for March 4.

CA boomer for CHANGE   March 3rd, 2008 5:28 pm ET

I am sorry, but I find it hard to believe that the numbers of these ditto-heads actually willing to play this sort of game, are significant enough to affect the outcome of the Dem primary. Honestly, it is more likely that these radio shock jocks are struggling to remain relevent …

Poor guy   March 3rd, 2008 5:27 pm ET

Its funny that rush is speaking up. You have three moderates running. One way or the other Bush is going to leave office. One way or the other we will have a president who wants both parties to work together to actually accomplish something. It has to eat him up. No one is really going that negative. The "mudslinging" is based on who would make a good president. Not raw personal attacks. I'm supporting Obama but honestly I'm fine with any of them. Its atleast a step up from having a conservative in office.

Bubba   March 3rd, 2008 5:27 pm ET

obama is no dirtier than any other national politician…choose !

Chris   March 3rd, 2008 5:27 pm ET

Ugh. I'm a Republican crossing over in Ohio for the primary, but for Obama — if he wins I can be pretty satisfied with either party's candidate for a change.

Republicans who only care about winning know that Obama is much more electable and tough to beat than Clinton. I think conservatives were counting on the "I hate Hillary" — 49% of the country — to help win the election.

If you want a Democrat in the White House, vote Obama.

reba   March 3rd, 2008 5:27 pm ET

Rush just wants the glitter and glow to wear off of Obama before the

Republicans take him on head to head. Face it, expecting Kerry,

Kennedy and Durbin to defend Obama against the GOP is a poor

defense. How about changing those Obama senators out of their

long held senate seats? Oops, end of change

david   March 3rd, 2008 5:27 pm ET

Rush………your a joke. Not to be mean. I'm gona laugh when Hillary wins in Texas, Ohio, and Rhode Island and she goes on to get the nomination. And then beats McCain in Novemeber! Then we can all send Rush a tape of him urging republicans to vote for Hillary.
Hillary Clinton '08!

Go Hillary!

Martin   March 3rd, 2008 5:26 pm ET

If Hillary were to become the nominee of her party, 47% of the country would vote against her, even if the Republicans nominate a monkey.
If they nominate a monkey which can speak, 49% will vote against her …

Bottom line, Hillary has no chance in getting elected, but she has a very high chance of ruining the Dems chances of taking the presidency by bruising Obama.

Hillary, it is time to bow out gracefully.

Thanks,

America

s callahan   March 3rd, 2008 5:26 pm ET

This is distrubing and unsettling that a media outlet is trying to influence the race.
One, it says there is no confidence in Sen. John McCain,
Two, it is encouraging hostility toward Sen. Obama.
Both of then are outstanding candidates that need to win on their own iniative without the media so blantanly interjecting through radio talk shows. It's one thing to allow the listener to speak, it's another to have a mad man's warped view of the world interjected. Shame on you!
This even about Hillary anymore..it's about insanity in the election. shame.

HG   March 3rd, 2008 5:26 pm ET

Why is this even on the ticker this was last weeks news.

Ron   March 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

Just anothereason to vote for Obama.

Juan   March 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

Rush fans are war-mongering, terrorists. They would prefer to have Americans die to enrich thier pockets than to sit down and work towards peaceful relations with those that differ from us. If they really wanted to fight terrorism they would be asking why we haven't put our full forces toward capturing Bin Ladin (maybe because Bin was in Bed with our Republican Presisdents). We need CHANGE. GO OBAMA.

Ann, MO   March 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

Sorry Rush, but I am a Republican that voted for Obama because I am sick of the way Republicans have run this country into the ground. I will not vote for Hillary or McCain in the general election. I think that there are a lot more of us then you can imagine that feel this very same way. A vote for Hillary or McCain is the same vote. They are two of a kind that will follow Bush's politics of the past.

Debbie   March 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

Always knew Rush liked Hillary and the Clintons.

Won't it be funny if Limbaugh helps Hillary get elected.

Craig H, Mpls, MN   March 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

Great strategy of Rush's to undermine democracy and keep the best people out of office. And he has the nerve to call others unpatriotic.

mep   March 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

Do some people actually do what this man says/suggests?…Does he really have such a 'sheep mentality' following?…What a dangerous country this has become.

Ann Kuminns   March 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

It's great that Limbaugh is now rooting for Hillary. The republicans know that she will be an easy target for them in November. Since when have you seen the republicans begging you to vote for a democrat?? It won't be so funny to democratic supporters in TX, OH and the rest of the country when Hillary wins the nomination only to be soundly defeated by McCain.

Maryann - Orlando, FL   March 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

Gee who would have thought Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter would be the ones to reach across party lines and unite America!

Ha!

Kevin   March 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

It sickens me to read this article and see a prominent spokesperson for the Republican party refer to aspects of the Presidential election as a soap opera. It is borderline unconscionable to think that this is what our political discourse has devolved to in contemporary society. Admittedly, I am no fan of the Republican party or conservatism, but I have respect for thinkers like George Will who actually have something informed to say. Others, like Limbaugh and Ann Coulter are merely reflections of the decay of the Republican party in light of the ideological shambles that the Bush administration left it in.

KIKI   March 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

Linbaugh,: yes, vote for Clinton because she is the best. We do not want in Obama another fool like we have had for the last few years. Obama would be a Bush of the far left. The country does not need such a guy.
Go Hillary

jo   March 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

This country is full of fools. This whole political process has become a game. The Clintons have gotten so dirty is ashane. I would not doubt if she called Rush and asked him to please plead with the people of Texas to give her a shot. We look so bad in the eyes of other countries..here we are in the middle of this political process and we have people asking others to vote and extend the process just for fun. But then we want other countries to have voting rights for the people because they deserve it., meanwhile, we have made it a joke.

tj   March 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

Rush is an idiot. Who cares what he thinks about anything?

Lily   March 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

It is so sad to know that when the democrats are on the verge of winning the White house and move the country forward, the Clinton's ego is going to finally be the thing that is going to bring all that down.

My humble message to reads as follows,:

"Mr. and Mrs. Clinton the need to bring about a change in America is much much more important than your ego. Consider this, if you keep at destroying this move forward of the country, next year at this time we will be talking about how the Clintons' ego blew off the big win for ordinary American people. "

Sad, Sad, Sad, …even when Limbaugh sees it as is and they fail to see it.

Manuel TX   March 3rd, 2008 5:23 pm ET

The DNC for allowing Republicans and Independents to vote in the Democratic primary. Only registered Democrats should vote in the Democratic primary.

Julia   March 3rd, 2008 5:23 pm ET

Not sure why some of you folks believe that when Senator Clinton wins the nomination, she wouldn't win against McCain. She's better known and she has a better base. Democrats are better seated to win this election and they would come out and vote for her. That said, the ones who wouldn't come out and vote who are here whining about Clinton not conceding and letting this man have his way, it is those who would attempt to lose the race for Democrats as they would follow Obama's lead and stay home on election day. He's a sore loser and he doesn't like competition. Well, he has it, and it looks as though Senator Clinton is going to wait for his smoke screen to clear. Good for her.

EGR   March 3rd, 2008 5:22 pm ET

The really, really good part is that if you cross over and vote for Hilllary in the Texas Democratic primary, then you can't vote at all in the Republican primary. And, according to the Repulicans, that's where the local elections really take place!

only the truth   March 3rd, 2008 5:22 pm ET

exactly what i've been saying in these blogs a while back!! the 'publicans want to bloody up obama to stretch this democratic campaign and let hillary win. hillary is such an easy opponent for them, with her baggage and all!!!

rf   March 3rd, 2008 5:22 pm ET

Karl and Rush, talk about four-letter words. It's amazing how these people wrap themselves up in the American flag then try to make a mockery of the American election process. This is exactly why Republicans will lose this election.

D R   March 3rd, 2008 5:22 pm ET

That seals the deal, a right wing end the world drug user, siding up with a Clinton. That my friends just ended Hillary's bid for the white house!

Charlotte   March 3rd, 2008 5:22 pm ET

Thanks Rush, I hope you have some pull, we need Hillary to win by as many votes as possible. We believe as you do, it's Hillary or McCain for us. Obama-bots are running scared now, with the NAFTA flub of Obamas finally getting the attention it deserves. Go Hillary!

WML   March 3rd, 2008 5:22 pm ET

I think the states where Repubs and Independents are allowed to vote in the Democratic primary need to reexamine their thinking. I live in Texas and that's what is happening here. My die-hard, straight ballot Republican brother-in-law is voting for Hillary. Not to carry out the drama but because he sees Obama for what he is–a dreamer without much to stand on. Hey, I was against the Iraq war but, like Obama, my vote or thoughts didn't count.

I hope Republicans and Independents do vote for Hillary. Not to keep the drama, because of the two Democrats, she truly is the better candidate. I'm a Democrat and if Obama gets the nomination, I will either write in Hillary or vote for McCain. It goes both ways. Obama is winning mostly because of the crossover Repubs and Indies can do, NOT from the Democratic base. Thanks to the media and other sources.

Shame on the Repubs for not going after Obama–he deserves it since there are many skeletons in his closet. It won't be racial, simply the rules of the game. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton haven't come to his side with the "negative" comments made by Hillary. Stop being afraid. The man needs to be looked at seriously and not superficially for the feel-good Oprah-style guy that he is.

robbie   March 3rd, 2008 5:22 pm ET

Republicans wish for Clinton to be the democrat candidate in November against McCain: easy to beat!

Sarah L, Fayetteville, AR   March 3rd, 2008 5:21 pm ET

Unfortunately, I agree with Rush about how much this primary fight will hurt the Democrats if it keeps going. Please keep that in mind.

Jason in Fairbanks, AK   March 3rd, 2008 5:21 pm ET

What's surprising about this? The rhetoric from the Clinton campaign and right wing talk radio has been indistinguishable for the past couple weeks. It's all-smearing-Obama, all-the-time.

Our country is in a very sad state when people can't even be trusted to vote for the person they believe would do the best job as President anymore.

As opposed to playing games with politics and voting to "keep someone else out of office", or the crap Limbaugh wants to pull.

People, vote for who you believe would be the best President of the United States, not necessarily who you think has the best chance of winning or who has the best chance of keeping "that other guy" out of office.

I wonder if Hillary is going to "REJECT" this endorsement?

Jes   March 3rd, 2008 5:17 pm ET

finally someone who makes sense. Vote Hillary, against Obama, the republicans are sure to lose against Obama, and with Hillary as the democratic candidate, Republicans regain the presidency.

Obama Supporter   March 3rd, 2008 5:17 pm ET

This is extremely sad. As much as Mr. Limbaugh speaks negatively about Hillary Clinton, it is now evident that he wants her to win the nomination because it is easier for McCain to win against her in November then for McCain to beat Obama…..that's a fact.

Wow……Obama has the Conservatives running scared. This is funny.

Obama supporters, please don't be fouled by what historians call, "The Operation of Power".

Obama '08

Lindsay   March 3rd, 2008 5:17 pm ET

This is so far beyond disturbing… I am disgusted. Let's screw with the democratic process so it becomes distored beyond recognition. It's not a game. It's not a joke. All this drama we're swimming through is supposed to bring about the eventual presidential nominees. Instead we're playing childish games?

I'm twenty-four years old. This is the first presidential election I've really taken part in and for the first time in my life I've found a politician (I loathe that word) that I can believe in. (I'm not going to name names because I don't want to start another Obama vs. Hillary vs. McCain feud in these comments…) Spiteful tactics like this are the reason I've never wanted to participate before and will make me consider abstaining in the future.

Mr. Limbaugh, your little game is not cute or clever. It only serves one purpose: messing up the election process in a country that may be beyond saving. Open your eyes.

Peter Canada Obama 08   March 3rd, 2008 5:17 pm ET

Oh.. I just want to comment on the first sticker on Hillary's new ad.
Eventhough Hillary ad portray Obama in a negative ways of he not chairing NATO subcommitee, the respondant are against her ad. 60% of the respondance rejected her tactice and called her too desperate.

What can she do at this moment to get back her reputation.? She has lost her credibility since she went negative on her rival our next President of the United State Of America Barack Obama.

I think she should step aside before tomorrow election and declare her support for Obama. That will clear the negativity people see on her.
Remember, close to call is not enough for her to continue her campaign. She has to win big or dropped out of the race with respect.

drew   March 3rd, 2008 5:16 pm ET

In 2000, I voted a lonely vote for John McCain, with the primaries all but decided for George W. Bush. I had even switched my registration to do so. I thought either Gore or Bradley would make a good President, but McCain could push through campaign finance reform.

I would never put party ahead of country by working to nominate a weaker candidate. Our country can't afford the worst of either party, which is what we got in 2000.

This year, I voted proudly for Barack Obama, because he is the only one who talks about winning the war in Afghanistan, and he is the only one who is refusing PAC and lobbyist donations. He is also the one who sponsored ethics legislation for the first time in a generation.

Vote for the best, not the worst. Your country needs it.

Go Hillary, your the one that will make a honest change for the people.
Your the one that will know how to get us out of the mess America is in today. Although I may not agree with some of your choices I trust you more then the other dem that has to pressure and make threats to get votes. He just not honest with the people.

raheem haskins   March 3rd, 2008 5:16 pm ET

this just goes to show you that Obama is the best man for the presidency of the United States

Bill   March 3rd, 2008 5:16 pm ET

How can anyone blame Clinton for this man's comments. Plesae. Looks like you need to pay attention to what Obama has been up to than attacking Clinton.

Hillary, the real candidate.

Steve in Albuquerque, NM   March 3rd, 2008 5:16 pm ET

First, Rush Limbaugh is an idiot.

Second, I want all Clinton supporters to retract their statements that Republicans are voting for Obama because they see him as a weaker opponent.

Now we know that any "crossover" support for Clinton from Republicans will not be real support.

John from Cincinatti   March 3rd, 2008 5:16 pm ET

and who was Rush saying this to? His large democratic base?

J. in PA   March 3rd, 2008 5:15 pm ET

Put this little feather in your cap, Hillary voters. Anyone who actually believes she has a chance to get the independent vote in November to win is dreaming. The only way she can win the Dem Primary is to blow up the party by using uncontested votes and superdelegates. Republicans know who is the Democrat to fear, and it's not Hillary Clinton.

JA Cook   March 3rd, 2008 5:15 pm ET

What a shame that our great democracy gets pulled down by ploys like this. This isn't the way we show the world how great a country we are – or could be.

Don't the conservatives care about a fair and proper election or is it simply win at any cost?

Where is Limbaugh's patriotism?

How does this put us on any higher level than the elections in Russia?

Mark   March 3rd, 2008 5:15 pm ET

Wow, if that's not enough reason to vote for Obama, I don't know what is………..

Trish   March 3rd, 2008 5:15 pm ET

That has got to be the most disgusting thing I have read on CNN. I am appalled by Rush and the Republican party in general.

Why is he still on the air? Besides being comical he is the biggest waste of airspace. Does anyone buy into the crap that comes out of Rush's mouth?

Jay   March 3rd, 2008 5:15 pm ET

I have mentioned this several times in the last week, Rush Limbaugh has been advocating this position for 2 weeks now. The longer this thing drags on the better it is for the republican party. The realization is that Hillary Clinton will pursue the type of attacks against Obama that no republican including Karl Rove would dare try.

mariposa for life   March 3rd, 2008 5:15 pm ET

It's nice to FINALLY see were Hillary is truly getting her support from…people who want the Democrats to lose in November!

Don't be fooled people..democracy is not a game to be played with!

Jayson   March 3rd, 2008 5:15 pm ET

It only makes sense for any Republican in a state that allows voters to vote either side since McCain will be the Republican nominee. What better way to possibly damage or destroy the Democratic party then to have a knock down drag out fight at the Democratic Convention since civility will go right out the window if there is no clear winner that meets the standards. The chaos will only be heightened by the fact that Bill has hinted that the idea that Obama would lose because of his skin color and also because of other idiotic comments in regards to Bill.

Democrats can flame away and scream what an idiot Limbaugh is but there is no way to deny the fact that any chance to cause more chaos in the Democratic party is a good idea. It is also not against the rules so no need to whine about how un-ethical and under handed the idea is either.

I attended Southeast Missouri State College back in the 60's when Rushie boy did. He is as big a loser today as he was back then. He wasn't relevant then, he isn't relevant now. Just an angry loser who happens to have a lot of losers that listen to him. If it weren't for the FUD principle (Fear Uncertainty and Doubt) he would have nothing to talk about.

Sylvester   March 3rd, 2008 5:14 pm ET

Rush Limbaugh is a always a joke…pretty much a comedian people listen to/watch and laugh but never taken seriously. Texans are smart. They will vote for the best candidate. That candidate is clearly Senator Obama. Nobody likes dynasties. We had Bush, Clinton, Bush but it is now about time to break the cycle. Texans know it so they will deliver for Sen. Obama.

pete ft worth tx   March 3rd, 2008 5:14 pm ET

While I get his point, the fact is NONE of the candidates, or Limbaugh for that matter, are addressing the real issues. We are losing our entire economic lives to foreign countries. We're literally pumping billions into the sands of the Middle East for their oil. We were pouring billions into Mexico by way of cash transfers from the illegals working here, and finally we're increasing our national debt beyond belief and owing it to the Saudis and Chinese. When will this come home to roost? At the speed things are going, the next president will NOT have a fun time. Nor will any of us citizens if we have to depend on the three goofs running now. WAKE UP AMERICA.

Keith Hunter   March 3rd, 2008 5:14 pm ET

I used to tend to believe the Clintons when the Republicans were attacking them during Bill Clinton's Presidency when they claimed they were being targeted by dirty politics. Other than the dubious play on words Clinton did about the definition of "sex" I thought he was a good President.

However, after the way the Clinton campaign has conducted itselt against Obama I find it impossible to believe that the animosity directed towards them by the Republicans was merely politically motivated. The constant mindset of an impending "fight" that Hillary intends to wage is so counter productive to creating an atomosphere where resolutions to issues can be accomplished by bi-partisan problem solving is troubling.

Also troubling is that she is being so divisive and damaging to others within even her own party indicates to me that the Clintons diviseness in the 90's did not occur in a vacuum as they once would have had people believe.

Rush may be right — as much as I hate to admit it.

You know what the bible says "REAP WHAT YOU SOW" the republicans have been pushing to vote for Obama since McCain had the nomination, but now they are reaping. They tried to cheat the system but it has come back to bite them.

The Dems and Obama supporters will never forgive her. This will be the Clinton legacy. Disgrace. All elections are about getting the middle of road independent voters and Clinton will never get them.

Rush Limbuagh is the lowest of all life forms. I think Hillary should stay in the race as long as she deems necessary, she has every right to present her case to voter. I look forward to either her or Obama smashing Mccain and giving these antiquated, greedy, ignorant, extremist talk show radio host, who have been trying to brainwash people with their illogical cries for "family values" claiming they support hard work while jobs fly over sees we are almost 3 trillion dollars in debt, 47 millions americans don't have health care as they continue to defend this broken republican government for the past decades, their just rewards. Vote Hillary or Obama. And p.s. I am an independent in general, and support some local republicans, but the republican party is broken. American will leave the Republican party because they have been leaving too many Americans out for too long!

Crusty the CLown   March 3rd, 2008 5:11 pm ET

This guys is a coward and hides behind the "soap opera" drama. He doesn't want Obama. Gas bag. Even Repubs don't like this guys anymore. He's not fiscal nor social conservative. He peddles rage porn.

John P   March 3rd, 2008 5:11 pm ET

So Limbaugh wants Republicans to cross over and vote for Hillary because it will be fun and to continue the soap opera. Is this the criteria for voting in a primary. In my opinion Limbaugh just gets weirder & weirder. He isn't backing Huckabee or McCain but Hillary. Has Limbaugh become a Democrat? Limbaugh has admitted to using oxycotin in the past, is it possible he has relapsed.

While I disagree with McCain on many issues, at lease he is a man of honour like Obama. Vote Obama if you are a Democrat, McCain if you are a Republican and let's have an election between people of honour, values & morals!

Sammy Ahrabi   March 3rd, 2008 5:11 pm ET

Limbaugh is a true conservative. Say anything and do anything just to have your party win. The fate of our country doesn't matter to him; the pride of corrupt politics does. That's a sad thing to admit about him, but it seems many conservative radio and talk-show hosts are failing to recognize the dire consequences their political views will have on our country in the coming years.

Robert   March 3rd, 2008 5:11 pm ET

For anyone who doesn't believe that the Republicans want to face Hillary rather than Barack….here's further proof. Why would we want to run a candidate, no matter how "experienced", knowing that she's going to lose the general election?

As Lou Dobbs would say, "What in the world are we Democrats thinking?!!" Limbaugh's appeal for Republicans to cross-over and vote for Hillary decides it for me—-> GO Obama '08!!!

Gmoney   March 3rd, 2008 5:11 pm ET

REALLY ask yourself: Why would Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh support Hillary in the primary?

If your answer is anything other than "to weaken the Democratic party," you need to ask yourself the question again.

EL NNINO   March 3rd, 2008 5:11 pm ET

No one energises the Republican base, whether willfully or not, like Senator Clinton. Unfortunately for her, she would never be able to beat John McCain in a general election.

Rush is just so very, very important.

ok, not really.

Jerome   March 3rd, 2008 5:10 pm ET

It's painfully obvious that Hillary would lose in a general election. She was the only candidate who had a chance to lose from the start of the primaries…

She's more a polarizing figure that GW Bush. Half of the country can't stand the mention of her name.

Why else would this fat blow hard want her to win??

God I hope Obama takes all four tomorrow and I can finally sleep peacefully. This is a battle, good vs. evil, and the fate of the entire world rests upon it.

As a democrat, I was planning on voting for Hillary tomorrow in Texas. But after hearing these Republicans urging everyone to vote for her, their message is clear: they are SCARED of Obama because they know they can't beat him. I'm going to vote for the person that can beat the Republicans in November tomorrow.

Mark   March 3rd, 2008 5:09 pm ET

This, to me, is what is so horribly wrong with our country's partizan political system… "This is the presidency of the United States we're talking about. I want our party to win I want the Democrats to lose.”
Shouldn't this election be about the American people winning- as a whole? Limbaugh certainly has the right to say whatever he wants, but I hate that so many people view elections as popularity contests rather than a chance to strengthen and unify our country.

Obamacan   March 3rd, 2008 5:09 pm ET

If Rush's influence with primary voting Republicans is so strong, How come Mitt Romney is only watching this process like most of the rest of us. Like the GOP has needed help with it's dirty work? He needs to stick to making us laugh with his "God given" talent of stretching the so-called truth and blaming non-conservatives for 'destroying America'.

It would be a much nicer world if Limbaugh and his kind would go away. He can take Bin Laden, Chavez, Putin, and the rest of the dangerous nut cases who now exist with him. Extremism in any form is detrimental to the human race.

JMV, New York   March 3rd, 2008 5:08 pm ET

This is the same thing that's been happening since the campaign started. There was a conservative blogger in Wisconsin who held a poll to decide which candidate all of his conservative readers should vote for. They voted overwhelmingly to support Hillary Clinton with the belief, true or not, that she'll be the candidate they need to unite the republican parties in ways that McCain can't.

Pete Murnane   March 3rd, 2008 5:08 pm ET

Good old wrong-way Rush! I wouldn't vote for someone who isn't a veteran, who hasn't put his or her life on the line for the USA. McCain's the only one in this bunch of hopefuls that meets my minimum criteria. And by the way Rush, in what branch of the service did you serve, or are you just another wannabe?

Mike   March 3rd, 2008 5:08 pm ET

It is very obvious that Rush is a very, very ,very ignorant, scared Republican. He thinks that if Hilary wins then it will make it easier for McCain. Yeah right!!! Hey dude, I don't know what planet you are living on but no matter which one of the Democratic canidates that get the nomination, I can almost garuntee that there will not be another Republican president in office for, if not the next 8 years, for ever. Sorry but Mr. George (I have down syndrome) Bush messed it up for you guys

Sean, Santa Barbara, CA   March 3rd, 2008 5:07 pm ET

Law Student   March 3rd, 2008 5:06 pm ET

This is the type of unethical behavior one would expect from Rush Limbaugh. Sabotaging the vote of the American people goes against everything this country stands for, and he should be ashamed of himself. By making such outrageous suggestions, Limbaugh is as "un-American" as he claims so many others to be.

Where was Rush to repeat the call for transparency by the Clintons to release their tax records, White House papers, and come clean with the American people.

Shame on you.

The Truth   March 3rd, 2008 5:04 pm ET

Hillary is willing to destroy the Democratic party and split the entire nation in her pursuit of power. If she really cared about this nation, she would withdraw from this race.

Phil, KC, MO   March 3rd, 2008 5:04 pm ET

It would seem that Hillary is the Democrat the Republicans most want to run against. Is it because they don't know how to go after Obama or because they feel they have more ammunition against Clinton (including a higher unfavorable rating)?
It also points out how concerned the Republicans are about their chances in November. If they need the Democrats to beat up each other, it means they don't think they can win in November.

March Surprise   March 3rd, 2008 5:03 pm ET

allan tanny   March 3rd, 2008 5:03 pm ET

I would expect nothing less from a man who excoriated drug addicts while he was one himself. Quick to make accusations but quicker to forgive himself. His version of morality and democracy make me sick.

Mike Allen   March 3rd, 2008 5:03 pm ET

Rush is right for once. I know many Republicans who are ready to cross party lines and vote Obama if he gets the nomination. No Republican would vote Hillary in the general election. Hillary is the Republicans best hope for a Republican victory.

Diamond   March 3rd, 2008 5:03 pm ET

Obama was leading by a margin of 3 to 1 among Republicans voting in the Democratic primary in Texas. In just one day, Hillary is leading by 46 to 45 among Republicans.

This is just proof that the longer this race continues, the more it will be jeopardized by Republicans who will be idle since they already have a nominee.

Apart from the fact that Republicans want Clinton, Democrats will just rip each other apart and destroy every chance of theirs in November. Clinton will undoubtedly continue her attacks and Obama will be forced to respond. If Clinton wins tomorrow, Obama will also throw her the chicken sink in Pennsylvania … and that's it. Democrats are done!

smart grrl in ls mo   March 3rd, 2008 5:03 pm ET

hey all you Obama supporters… get ready for tomorrow… when Hillary wins, you can blame it all on Rush

Ron   March 3rd, 2008 5:03 pm ET

Rush is EXTREMELY shrewed and will always try to take advantage of a perceived weakness. He will NEVER admit it, but he is just chomping at the bit for Hillary to win. He sees her as a much easier target for the General Election. Lets face it in the 20 year history there is a ton of negative crap.

Jay fox   March 3rd, 2008 5:02 pm ET

Like we're going to listen to Rush Limbaugh? Now that's funny!

Larry Buchas, New Britain, CT   March 3rd, 2008 5:02 pm ET

That's the perfect reason to vote for Barack.

Limbaugh is counting on the Clintons to represent the Democratic Party. He sees it as the only possible way Republicans can reclaim the White House.

Let's reject these rats, once and for all!

Evin   March 3rd, 2008 5:02 pm ET

Hopefully the kind of people who still pay heed to Limbaugh are those who are wheelchair-bound or unable to locate a voting station.

Larry, GA   March 3rd, 2008 5:02 pm ET

Okay, now…I'm really concerned! Although, Sen. Clinton is holding up the process for a Sen. Obama nommination, I wonder what is the true agenda for Rush. Could he want Obama to get the Democratic nommination? And why?

andrew jones   March 3rd, 2008 5:02 pm ET

Rush Limbaugh can official cross-over to the Billary Clinton campaign; they both represent the politics of the OLD: SMEAR TACTICS AND KITCHEN SINK POLITICS!

A vote for Billary is a vote for Rush Limbaugh and dirty politics!

VOTE FOR CHANGE!

VOTE OBAMA!!!

EveryoneForObama   March 3rd, 2008 5:02 pm ET

Hahaha, this is interesting.

And it is for the same reason why ALL democrats should vote for Barack Obama. People, please do not let the democratic party fail AGAIN. I hear democrats that say "if Hillary is not the nominee, I will vote Mccain". It just doesn't make sense to me. Looks like it more for the person than for the party and the party's values and ideas.

We need a lot of growing up to do. My vote, any day, is for Senator Obama.

Mike   March 3rd, 2008 5:02 pm ET

CHICAGO – Jury selection began Monday in the federal fraud trial of businessman Antoin "Tony" Rezko, a former fundraiser for Sen. Barack Obama who is charged with buying power and influence by bombarding Illinois political leaders with campaign money.

The case is the biggest political corruption trial in Illinois since former Gov. George Ryan was convicted of racketeering in 2006 and sent to prison.

Politicians around the country are watching the trial because Rezko, a 52-year-old Chicago real estate developer, poured cash into Obama's campaigns when Obama was getting his political start.

Here is a story in the Chicago Tribune… All of you need to start looking at Obama and his past relationships before it is too late!!! This man has given some money to charity but has not given all of the money that he has received from other companies that Rezko is involved in??? Honesty??? Character???

you need to hold him accountable for his actions!!!

Dee from Texas   March 3rd, 2008 5:02 pm ET

I think that it is so disrespectful of CNN to print this DEMEANING OF OUR POLITICAL CULTURE. Something like this should not be printed. It is not JUSTICE FOR ALL. I am so outdone with CNN. They seem to be slipping even with Hilliary on CHARACTER AND INTEGRITY.

Stacy Clarks, Texas   March 3rd, 2008 5:01 pm ET

While I am an Obama supporter, it is absolutely ridiculous these suggestions that this OUT OF TOUCH, nonsensical old conservative (who would love this country to return to pre-civilization days where slavery was "in-vogue") are making.

DEMOCATS, are we going to allow this old man to ridicule us like this?!?!

OBAMA AND HILLARY SUPPORTERS ALIKE NEED TO STAND UP AGAINST THIS!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!

Corey   March 3rd, 2008 5:00 pm ET

This is EXACTLY why America needs to WAKE UP!!! It is time for the Democrats to UNITE!! It's NOW or NEVER!! The longer we drag this thing out and the more divisive the demeocratic primary is (Hillary), the more of an edge we are essentially GIVING to the Republicans! The time is NOW for BARACK OBAMA!!! Come together!

Raum   March 3rd, 2008 5:00 pm ET

I hope Hillary is satisfied…

She will be the downfall of Democrats this year. President McCain 08! get used to it.

Dylan in CA   March 3rd, 2008 5:00 pm ET

Not surprising. A thug endorsing another thug.

Cami   March 3rd, 2008 5:00 pm ET

What a blowhard. Yet another reason I'm glad I already voted for Obama.

terry   March 3rd, 2008 5:00 pm ET

Sad to say, but Hillary would be the best chance fo the Rebublicans because SO MANY people don't like her.

Victoria   March 3rd, 2008 5:00 pm ET

Sounds like Rush is back on the meds again.

Corey   March 3rd, 2008 5:00 pm ET

Wow, figures. Hillary winning Dem nomination = 4 more years of Bush aka McCain

Elly   March 3rd, 2008 4:59 pm ET

Washington!!!
Obama is for change!!!
Obama 08 .you go guy

Mireille, Charlotte   March 3rd, 2008 4:58 pm ET

THIS IS NOT GOOD DEMOCRATS OR REPUBLICANS. APPARENTLY THERE IS AN AGENDA THAT NEEDS TO BE MOVED FORWARD AND I GUESS HILLAR'S THE BEST PERSON FOR THE CONTINUATION OF THE PLAN

tom   March 3rd, 2008 4:58 pm ET

i agree…keep this race going — its to funny

MNDem   March 3rd, 2008 4:58 pm ET

The Clintons are dispicable. It is interesting that many of her supporters call us Obama supporters blind followers (even though I have been involved with politics for many years), yet they live off every word she says and absolutely love the negative tone that Hillary has taken.

It is absolutely true that most of Hillary's hard core supporters would rather see McCain win the general election over Obama and it is disgusting.

Ben from D.C.   March 3rd, 2008 4:57 pm ET

"Look at me! I want attention!"

James McIver   March 3rd, 2008 4:57 pm ET

I'm a hillary supporter and I'll take what I can get.

Jim Bethlehem, pa   March 3rd, 2008 4:57 pm ET

The man has finally gone completely bonkers. Maybe Limbaugh and Colterguist can form a committee..Right wing nut jobs for Hillary!!

Darth Vadik, CA   March 3rd, 2008 4:56 pm ET

There you go Clintonites,

Now you know who the right wing wants to run against.

Say no to Rush and Say no to clinton.

Corinna   March 3rd, 2008 4:56 pm ET

Of course he would. I believe he is hoping for a train wreck in the Democratic Party.

Will   March 3rd, 2008 4:56 pm ET

Yea! Clinton is helping conservatives!!!

Go Hillary!!

Deb IL   March 3rd, 2008 4:55 pm ET

I am a solid HIllary supporter, but this guy is just wierd!

Tony   March 3rd, 2008 4:55 pm ET

Go GOP !!!
Senator McCain or Gov. Huckabee would to way better than both of the democrat clowns

I Like the way Limbaugh thinks, Socialist Hillary would be way easier to beat than Rookie-Lying Obama…

Patrick   March 3rd, 2008 4:55 pm ET

Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter both support Hillary Clinton…what does this tell us about the woman?

If this campaign season does nothing else, I hope it forces the DNC to amend the rules for the primary season to prevent this kind of manipulation.

Melissa   March 3rd, 2008 4:55 pm ET

Hey is saying that because the republicans know they can beat her in NOVEMBER!

OBAMA 08 YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!

Alonzo Demetrius, FL, USA   March 3rd, 2008 4:54 pm ET

Are you kidding? With the potential of supporting Mandatory Universal Health Care?

Josh   March 3rd, 2008 4:54 pm ET

Sorry Rush…democrats aren't as ignorant as republicans. If you think saying that is gonna cause us democrats to go "Oh, he's a republican, he wantss us to vote for Hillary…let's vote for Obama and show him!!" you are SADLY mistaken. Yes, we will vote for Hillary…and she will "cream" McCain.

Adam in Indy   March 3rd, 2008 4:54 pm ET

Not sure if that's a good thing or not….

PDC   March 3rd, 2008 4:53 pm ET

The funny part is if Clinton is the nominee vs. McCain it's win/win for Rush heads. Those two are six in one hand half-dozen in the other.
