WASHINGTON (CNN) – Barack Obama’s campaign lawyer Bob Bauer crashed a conference call convened by Hillary Clinton’s campaign Tuesday evening, sparring with Clinton communications director Howard Wolfson in an exchange that lasted several minutes.

Bauer dialed into the call that was intended to update the media on alleged irregularities in Texas caucus voting and identified himself to Wolfson’s surprise.

“Nice of you to call. How are you?” said a startled Wolfson when Bauer introduced himself.

The two men then proceeded to battle over the Clinton campaign’s complaints over caucus voting in Nevada and in Texas, with Bauer directly asking the Clinton campaign to “Stop attacking the caucus process.”

Wolfson responded by challenging Bauer to work closely with the Clinton campaign to ensure there were no irregularities in the Texas caucuses.

“I would ask you to join with us this evening in ensuring that the serious problems that are ongoing as we speak in Texas are addressed,” Wolfson said, adding that they did not hold Bauer "personally responsible.”

Bauer returned to his original charge, saying that the Clinton campaign had attempted to interfere with the process in both Iowa and Nevada, adding: “How is this (complaint) any different than the series of complaints registered against every caucus that you lose?"

After several minutes, Wolfson ended the conversation, telling Bauer he looked forward to "asking our own questions on subsequent calls of yours."

I am so tired of Obama set himself up as some sort of Savior. We are finally seeing he is just a typical Chicago politician.

De Dem   March 4th, 2008 11:48 pm ET

Annon in Texas - all the African American I know (over 100) are supporting Sen. Clinton, so please don't speak for us/them. BTW: The Clintons didn't alienate African Americans, the media and stupid black folks did.

ann   March 4th, 2008 11:47 pm ET

The clintons are doing what they do best…they will and are doing anything and everything to win…Obama will have to get trashy & dirty along with those 2 snakes in order to compete. As much as he is trying to run a clean campaign that is not going work. I am a democrate and i voted for bill and always have been a clinton supporter..but after the past week of negative things they are saying and doing i wil never vote for him or her for anything…i will vote for mccain before hillary…

anyone who attacks the clinton campaign over stuff like this is absolutely ridiculous. this is not about her or him it's about people feeling that they can trust the system and be given fair treatment when it comes to voting. the obama campaign should not be making this into a fight, they should take the lead and make this an opportunity. come on give me a break. if you can't stand up for the american people then why run for president. not everyone that is complaining is voting for hillary clinton.

I am from Iowa and I saw how the Obama campaign cheated to win here. I am still upset over them bringing school buses of students in from Ill to caucus. They also told the Richardson people that they should join their caucus group because deals had been made, which was not true. They are not squeeky clean as they try to want us believe. They also came to the Edwards caucus goers and tried to take them to their group, just could not stand not to have everyone for Obama. Makes me so upset that they want it all. I am praying for Hillary to win Texas.

earlrural   March 4th, 2008 11:43 pm ET

Desperate? Clinton finally wins after a month of getting her butt kicked across the country by going negative every chance she gets.
I wouldn't call Obama supporters morons if I was for Clinton suppoter. Nader could get a lot of votes from Obama supporters if Clinton gets the nod, which is still a long ways away. Hell, when it comes down to it, even McCain could get a lot of Obama supporters.

melissa   March 4th, 2008 11:42 pm ET

This is typical of Obama supporters to cry if anyone says anything against him. If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen

The Clintons are so dirty.
Please vote Obama or McCain.
Lets run this crooked royal family out of Washington forever.

alli2   March 4th, 2008 11:40 pm ET

Obviously, the Texas primary/caucus process need to be looked at. My sister said hundreds of people showed up at her caucus and they have no ballots. I guess with all the focus on the importance of Texas everyone is learning a big civics lesson on the voting process. Want to bet the next election is handled a little differently?

M. S. Indiana   March 4th, 2008 11:40 pm ET

Looks like Ohio is all about cry like a baby when it gets rough, lie like a bush, cheat and steal like an Guerrero.
Go Clinton's go, let the republicans win 2008.
Then you can be vice president for McCain

Theresa   March 4th, 2008 11:39 pm ET

The media should take responsibility for creating this environment for a negative campaign. Obama has tried to run a decent campaign however, as I watched CNN it has been clear to me that Clinton has many fans. Obama has surprised many Americans with his winnings and now of course he has to be attacked for showing that you can run a campaign without slinging MUD! I am an independent and came to the Democratic Party because Obama for me represents change. But maybe he should consider running as an Independent. It has not been just Democratic votes responsible for him winning so far. Maybe it is time to upset this two- party political machine that has been the real problem with our political process. Many Americans have clearly spoken with their feet but the media and status quo refuses to hear them. Let's take this situation we now have to another level. Change is clearly what we want. Obama please run as an Independent ! You have the support and the backing.

eviljoker   March 4th, 2008 11:39 pm ET

you people are sheep, blindly following your preferred sheppard. here is the achilles heel of the democratic party in all its glory. the fight over hillary and obama will harvest so much resentment come november that it will severely cripple the most important issue… that being to remove the gop from the white house. open your eyes people, fundamentally speaking, both hillary and obama stand for the same thing, and the winner of the primary will need the FULL support of the party in he genreal election…

Ron S.   March 4th, 2008 11:39 pm ET

Ohio, I'm so sorry for you. You insist on holding on to your blue-collar work ethic (admirable) while supporting political leaders (the Clintons)who sell you out by the pound.

Congratulations to tonight's winner of the Ohio primary - NAFTA! YES SHE WILL (reaffirm NAFTA). Poor, (or about to be be poor) Ohioans, get your ignorant butts back to school, you're going to need to retrain yet again. BEND OVER, THE CLINTONS ARE COMING AGAIN!

Josh   March 4th, 2008 11:38 pm ET

Geez Obama…HOW LOW ARE YOU GONNA GO???!!! Now that you are actually starting to lose you go a cry wolf to lawyers and the press! I also wonder why CNN took that article down about you calling John McCain, telling him that you look forward to running against him in the fall…COULD IT BE BECAUSE YOU ARE LOSING???

My fellow Democrats, wake up and smell the coffee! Barack supporters, please switch over to Hillary's side as it is our only chance of winning! Quit being four year olds and vote with your brain, not with who Joe or Sally is voting for.

All evilness aside, HILLARY, CONGRATULATIONS ON WINNING OHIO!!! WE ALL HOPE AND PLAN ON YOU WINNING TEXAS AS WELL!!! AFTER THIS, LET'S ALL GO ON TO PENNSYLVANIA AND CONTINUE WINNING!!! AMERICA IS COMPLETELY BEHIND YOU 100%!

Richard   March 4th, 2008 11:37 pm ET

I am not a democrat, but I would support Obama before I would support Hillary. She does a lot of double talk - NAFTA is good, now bad, vote for Iraq, now was a mistake based on the information she had at the time. She seems to say whatever you want to hear. I don't care about experience if it's a lot of wrong decisions. Answer the phone at 3 a.m. and make the wrong decision - I hope she isn't answering it. The Canadian government also stated that they got their information from an Obama representative, not Obama himself.

Mary   March 4th, 2008 11:37 pm ET

I give up! I can't stand the Clintons and they have fooled the country again. Looks like the Catholic vote is putting them over the top, just as they did with George W. Bush. I may just change my religion to Hindu.

I just donated $50 to HILLARY CLINTON's campaign!!!
I am a poor college student and have donated to her campaign once before after NH but I did so AGAIN because after Ohio's DECISIVE victory (by more than 15 points!!!!), I have COMPLETE confidence that Hillary will win this.
All you other Hillary supports, go donate NOW!!
This is Hillary momentum NOW.

MANDY   March 4th, 2008 11:36 pm ET

Does anyone remember when the CLinton's were in the White House? Hillary is directly linked to Vince Foster (and the disappareance of his papers), Travel-Gate, among other corrupt issues invlving her husband. And she refuses to release her taxes and no one is allowed access to her schedule or phone lists!

Canada contacted Austan, not the other way around. And there were rumors of discussions by Clinton's camp with Canada re: NAFTA.

The media is getting Hillary her pillows and seeing that she is comfortable instead of asking her to explain herself. What…is everything prior to her becoming a senator off limits to the media now? She says that the media was being hard on her…I don't see how that could be if they aren't asking her about her skeletons!

Obama is too much of a gentleman to ask! He has already been a canidate of change! He has stayed on message and focused only on her record.

She has gone ugly and trashy.

But then she can't win any other way!

De Dem   March 4th, 2008 11:36 pm ET

Grow up you crazy obama supporters. The most important thing is that no one gets disencfranchised no matter who you support.

RhondaCoca   March 4th, 2008 11:36 pm ET

Nobody is desperate. The Clinton campaign have been telling their people how to pretty much cheat in caucuses. I saw the handbook because my roommate works in the campaign. There has been issues with them closing the door early, changing tally numbers, taking ballots home etc… The Obama campaign due to incidents in the past and the leak of info confirming that the Clinton campaign has been doing underhanded things, has finally stepped up.

Even in New York, my state, Mayor Bloomberg has suspected fraud!!!

Lee Buik Denizot - VT   March 4th, 2008 11:35 pm ET

Hillary, THE ANSWER IS BLOWIN' IN THE WIND..our voice, unless you need super delegates? Every voice is heard, but not listened to? As you say anything is possible; I did not believe Bush could hijack the presidency, and I never ever believed it might happen again…but Ohio is demonstrating it can!
The answer MY FRIEND is blowin', TWISTED, in the wind.

Chris   March 4th, 2008 11:35 pm ET

I suspect many of the silly comments here are actually by Republicans trying to instill discontent. Remember, both our Democratic candidates are terrific.

Still, I hope you guys realize that this was one of the regular conference calls with the media, the kind that Clinton uses to guide/manipulate them. In my opinion, Clinton has been playing rather dirty for weeks now and nobody in the media seems willing to call her on it. Of course, this practice is very consistent with what the Clinton White House did. Trying to manipulate, stonewall, and manage the media as much as possible. If there's nobody in the media who factchecks Clinton anymore, who else remains to do the job but the Obama campaign?

A large part of the media, especially the part based in NYC, has been very pro-Hillary all along. I also remember several newscasts actually had their coverage of the recent debate edited so it would stop right after HRC's zinger, but without the ensuing booing or Barack's quick response.

The Clinton campaign's constant whining about bias simply gave that part of the media an excuse to become even more biased _against_ Obama. Plausible deniability has been par for the course throughout the Bush and Clinton eras. She is committed to the cause, but she has huge flaws that the media completely ignores.

The fact is Hillary is financed by Big Business, especially the health care industry. Barack is funded by regular people. Who's more likely to help regular people? The fact is Hillary just didn't get the monumental margins today she needed to have a realistic chance of the nomination within the proportional system. All it did is give her ample opportunity to drag it out and make it ugly.

The fact is that's exactly what the Republicans wanted. Her unreasonable attacks and extracurricular activities simply serve to hurt Democrats.

JOHN   March 4th, 2008 11:34 pm ET

AFTER OBAMA WINS 12 IN A ROW THE CLINTONS WIN ONE AND THE CLINTON SUPPORTS THINK SHE HAS THE MO. O.M.G. DON'T YOU THINK IT'S ABOUT TIME SHE ONE SOMETHING, HILLARY HAD A GOOD NIGHT, BUT SHE WILL NEVER CATCH OBAMA IN THE OVERALL VOTE COUNT AND DELEGATES. ALL THAT WILL CHANGE BY THE WEEKEND WHEN OBAMA WINS THE NEXT TWO STATES.

Tatyana   March 4th, 2008 11:34 pm ET

If not to talk about them but just to read these posters - how nasty and rood are Hillary's supporters!!! Now I don't like her even more!
If she is the one from Dems, she'll NEVER pick up Obama's voter's and we'll be under McCain next 4 years.
But she doesn't care. Her ego is more imporatnt, as usual…
Let's pray for Obama. If Hil wins this nomination I will NOT vote for her. Period.

I would like to sound a note of warning to the DNC Chairman, STOP THE CLINTONS FROM USING THESE NEGATIVE STRATEGIES AGAINST A FELLOW DEMOCRAT!!!! These strategies will tear the party apart and turn off young voters.
The truth is that most Democrats who voted in these primaries, will vote for the Republican nominee if Hillary Clinton becomes the Democratic nominee. She will definitely not win in November. She portrays herself as someone who is so selfish and desparate. I keep wondering if she forgot something in the White House that she needs so badly. Well, I will personally note vote for, not for gender or race reason, but because she is so selfish.

Hillary is not good for America, she is to divisive and no Republican will ever support her to make any change in this country………America will suffer greatly with Hillary in office…What we need is someone that can unify the country….Go Obama or McCain
Much love for USA…..May God stop Hillary

Night Writer   March 4th, 2008 11:31 pm ET

Hillary attacked Obama just two weeks ago about tactics. It is unfortunate that she has resorted to the lowest of tactics and her integrity should be questioned. Her temperament is deplorable, and she has brought ugliness into the party.

Although the republicans have been fighting for a nominee, they have remained supportive and cohesive as a party.

It is time for Barak to take the gloves off and stop showing the level of respect to Hillary that she so clearly is not reciprocating.

JAyz   March 4th, 2008 11:31 pm ET

Why shouldn't Obama's lawyer tell his side of the story? Remember, THIS STARTED AS A CONFERENCE CALL WITH CLINTON'S PEOPLE WHINING TO THE MEDIA. There's nothing wrong about him asking Clinton to “Stop attacking the caucus process”

Stay calm, Obama folks. We'll be okay. Let the dirty ones be dirty. They threw mud and it worked. Our is the high road, the same road as Lincoln, TR, FDR, and a few others. Let the false proclaim for the false. As the Hillary supporters croak about a victory that at its best will give the Right-Wingers a big advantage, and at worst give them a victory, remember who we are. These people are either duped, which is very sad, or they are believers in division, which is even more sad. But they are not our friends, they are not progressives, and they have no interest in healing this nation. Let them alone. And let's get back to business.

Obama needs to take control of his staffers. They're starting to borrow plays from the Clinton playbook, but that won't work for him. Everyone holds Obama to a different standard. He can't play dirty or return those illegal punches. He needs to stick to the high road and sweat it out or he'll be open game against the Republicans. The Clintons will take the entire party done with them if you give them the chance.

When will Latinos learn that their votes are being used??? What has Clinton done for you??? Do you even know? It is such a shame that the Latinos think that there is this fight for votes between African-Americans and them. When in fact WE ARE NOT THINKING ABOUT YOU! Many Latinos are going to Colleges that were historically black colleges…becaue the need for these colleges for Black people are not as necessary as they once were. Many of the civil rights that Latinos enjoy are because of Black people who laid down, got beaten and even died so that everyone not just Blacks could be treated equally. So why do Latinos always think that there is this competition?? I really don't get it. Especially since many Latinos are BLACK themselves. It's mind boggling.

I've been reading these blogs for months now and I hate to break it to you but the Clinton supporters are actually as bad if not worse in the name calling department then Obama's supporters are. I am disgusted with this whole process. Obama is definitely not without fault (and has gotten worse over the past weeks) but HRC's campaign has been absolutely sickening. I have lost amost all respect for the whole process. HRC will probably with the primary battle with the tactic she has used, but I think she may very well lose the war in November. If McCain wins in November, it will not surprise me in the least.

FED UP WITH POLITICIANS!

Smart Alex   March 4th, 2008 11:24 pm ET

I can't believe I'm following some of this IGNORANT CRAAAAAAAP!

You people are drones! Think for yourselves please!!!

Primary elections are supped to be a vetting process; a job interview.
1) Do we know ANYTHING about Obama besides his bumper sticker slogans and pep rally speeches? No.
2) Is Hillary paying the double tax of carrying Bill's baggage in her campaign? Yes.
3) Is either Hillary or Obama better than another Republican ruining America and the world? You bet.

My concern is that it is early March and both sides have already "chosen" their candidate and yet their positions on issues will change so much between now and election day. Sad state for democracy in America! Can we export anything besides bad TV, over-priced movies, and celebrity gossip?

Seward Horner   March 4th, 2008 11:24 pm ET

Hillary should keep fighting. It isn't over until someone recieves the number of delegates needed. Florida and Michigan should hold new primaries. I don't believe in Obama's "change we can believe in". It is all talk . His actions are often at odds with his speachs. Decrying NAFTA while winking at the Canadains and then trying to deny it. and then refusing to answer questions about it. Challenging the republicans to only run on public funds and now trying to get out of it. The list can go on. I am voting for Hillary or McCain. t

Liz   March 4th, 2008 11:23 pm ET

How come Barack Obama always wants to wait until Hillary talks. Always a follower, right? Look even at the time when she's giving her speech for winning Ohio and Rhode Island … Barack is still wanting to talk after her. Yeah right, and he's SO ready to lead. (rest my case!)

Jeanne Walls   March 4th, 2008 11:19 pm ET

We are beginning to see the real Obama. Before this past two weeks I would have voted for either of the two Democratic candidates. As of today, I will not vote for Obama under any circumstances.

Connie   March 4th, 2008 11:19 pm ET

Simple.
To see if something is going on there, just compare caucus and primary. After all, it's the same people voting for same candidates.
And remember, it's primary only in November

xemmy   March 4th, 2008 11:18 pm ET

Some just don't get it; If Hillary wins the primary I think those who voted for Obama will not vote e for Clinton leaving the field for McCain. If Clinton was such a superstar Obama would not have won the votes and states he did. Hillary enjoy the glamour now but when McCain wins the Presidency remember it will be difficult to win over the supporters of Obama. Just because you may be the Democratic winner you have a lot to do to win our Democratic support than the negative platform you run on

Elizabeth   March 4th, 2008 11:18 pm ET

People the democratic primary is really about the true colors of the American culture..funny how the south has turned out more supportive of Obama than the North. Obama tried to run his campaign as a man who so happened to be african american. Hilary has BLOATED on being a female. Talk about pulling a minority card!

What I find pathetic about the whole mess is the North's position during the Civil War vs. the South…and now the Mason Dixon line is reversed…

By the way…BOOO to Saturday Night Live and the media for the unbalanced reviews on the candidites! And if Hilary Clinton wins the primary, and IF she wins the election, Ohio better not complain if she doesnt address the consequences of NAFTA to bring back their blue collar workforce stability!

Yes..I am a Obama supporter and proud of it…

C. Griffin   March 4th, 2008 11:17 pm ET

As a person who has recently began to involve myself into politics Hilary Clinton and her camps tactics reminds me why people like myself don't get involved….and with the backing of Ann Culter and that Cunningham guy…I mean really people wake do we really want to go back to a Clinton Whitehouse…the definition of insanity is doing the samething and expecting different results.

For President Obama   March 4th, 2008 11:17 pm ET

I'm delighted to see that Senator Obama is letting his attorney respond. With 35 years in politics and time in TX especially, one would think Senator Clinton would know the TX electoral rules by now. Furthermore, these are rules that were set up by some who are now among her campaign aides! Senator Obama, continue to take the high road. We are intelligent enough not to be sidetracked by attack ads or rule changing mid-stream.

I loved the Clintons until I saw the low-life tacics to which they would stoop earlier in this campaign. Formerly low-rent, now high-rent grifters, that's what they are. Why do you think Rush Limbaugh and a whole host of neo-con pundits are hoping that the Clintons win the nomination?

Hillary and Bill Clinton are the only ones in this country who don't know that Hillary Clinton has no chance of winning the presidency! If Hillary gets the nod from the dems we can count on President McCain - a retread of the King George administration. Once again, we'll get not the government that we need, but the government we deserve.

God Bless America, 'cause we're going to need it more than ever.

Betty   March 4th, 2008 11:16 pm ET

If any of you folks had been at my precinct caucus tonight, you would have understood Hillary's concerns (or ANY of the candidates' concerns for that matter). For 95% of the people there, it was confusing and easily misunderstood. It amazes me that supposedly well educated people show up at these caucuses totally ignorant of what the process is about, how it works, what you need to do, etc. For crying out loud, spend 30 minutes online or on a phone call to the county party office and find out how the caucus works before jumping into the mix. I've never seen so many "deer in the headlights" looks in one room in all my life.
FYI– our caucus ended up split evenly between Hillary & Obama. Actually Hillary was ahead by a small margin, but since you have to round delegate numbers up, it turned out an even split.

Rhonda Gray   March 4th, 2008 11:16 pm ET

Clinton is a fighter and a survivor. She knows how to fight and beat McCain in the general election. She is out in the open and does not have a problem with the truth; Obama has no idea what it will take to beat a seasoned republican senator. It is gonna take experience to beat the republicans and has everyone forgot what a toil it took on the citizens of the United States to have 12 years of republicans (Reagan and Bush). Bill Clinton had what it took to bring America back together; then another Bush for 8 years! Come on America and get your heads out of your rears and look at the problems that are a result of 8 years of republicans. I am a Clinton fan, she can move this country into a new world.

No matter what, which ever Democrat takes the primary, Democrats need to back Democrats and fight the Republican candidate. Democrats need to take back over.

Very surprising to hear people with short memory calling OBAMA a liar. the clinton invented this word and practice it all their lives..
My god! what a cynical couple!
Obama is the candidate and will win the primaries.
Go Obama! we are proud of you and you are the best!

LETS GET DOWN TO THE ISSUES NOT THESE KINDERGARDEN RECESS CRAP!!!. AS USUAL, THE OBAMA PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING NOW THAT CLINTON IS PULLING AHEAD. TYPICAL, CNN ANALYSTS SAID EARLY THIS EVENING THAT CLINTON WOULD NEED TO WIN WITH DOUBLE DIGITS AND HERE WE ARE 4 HOURS LATER. CLINTON IS AHEAD WITH DOUBLE DIGITS. GO HILLARY!

Vig   March 4th, 2008 11:15 pm ET

Something is beginning to rear it's ugly head in the Obama organization - extremist tactics. First we have the strong arming of superdelegates and now they are crashing calls. I was wondering how the Obama camp would react if the tide turned, as it seems to be doing. We can probably expect more militant, repressive actions. Yuk!

Sara   March 4th, 2008 11:14 pm ET

THE FIX IS IN. CLINTON WILL WIN TONIGHT. I feel so sick. These people are so corrupt. What are people thinking? The thought of a Clinton back in the White House is nauseating.

Major Kit   March 4th, 2008 11:13 pm ET

Hey kids same product in different packages. The Canadian dollar is stonger than the US dollar, do you think that might have something to do with the "leak"…The Clintons have been for NAFTA since the outset do you think that had somethign to do with the leak? Wake up it is the New World Order. Fox is getting their news from YouTube fer crying out loud. You are getting your news from the same people that are causing the banking collapse , the housing collapse. What are your sources CNN/ FOX? the networks. The NY Times??? I see the Hillary campaign is pretty active in these here parts of the internet.

As an Obama supporter I do have to agree with the people saying that it was wrong for the lawyer to drop in on the conference call. However, for the Hillary supporters to portray the Obama campaign as a bunch of lowlifes is the epitome of the pot calling the kettle black.

Several of them on this comment list also need to learn some basic grammar and spelling.

Zachary Berridge   March 4th, 2008 11:12 pm ET

Lets be fair if you have not voted dont talk: If you have than it could not be.Its a lie!!! What happen to Ron Brown?

Jeff   March 4th, 2008 11:12 pm ET

It would be interesting to see whether the Republican tactic of urging their people to vote for Clinton worked, or whether Hillary's campaign suddenly took a turn for the better itself.

These Hillary supporters who say the Republicans want to run against Obama are insane. All indications are that Hilalry would be crushed by McCain.

KEN   March 4th, 2008 11:12 pm ET

If you really want to know the truth about Hillary, Google:Hillary scandals; if you can live with what you read and still vote for her then try:Dead men don't talk and see if you can stomach that!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why do you think the republicans are pushing so hard for Hillary to win? Answer: So they can bring up the dirt

How does being married to a charismatic guy qualify you to be president (or senator)? That is not experience. If the phone rang at 3am, it wasnt for her. BTW, he cheated on her and she let it go because she wanted to be president. You know its true.

Kimberly   March 4th, 2008 11:10 pm ET

So Mrs. Clinton won Ohio and Rhode Island while Mr. Obama won Vermont. Now they have Texas pretty much split. At this point, after all of this money and all of these votes, either candidate dropping out would be a betrayal of the support they have been given. The media plays up that one or the other should quit for party unity. That is what the convention is for this summer. There will be unity and a single nominee at that point. GO HILLARY!!

MARIA PERU   March 4th, 2008 11:10 pm ET

GO HILLARY !!! STILL HISPANICS VOTES TO COME

Yale   March 4th, 2008 11:08 pm ET

Bauer is right (even if his method was a little questionable) I'd be upset too if i were in his place. Clinton has done and will continue to do anything it takes to get the nomination and complaining about the states she loses is the least of our worries. She has tried to get Michigan and Florida reconsidered after her agreement with the DNC decision, and Obama's decision to take his name out of those races left her as the only one on the ballot, she tried with all her might to get Obama supporters in Nevada to LOSE THEIR RIGHT TO VOTE. I wouldn't be surprised if this did end up in court when she inevitably loses. At this point if she wins the primary I am likely to vote for McCain. Republicans may be wolves but at least we know what to expect from them; Clinton hides behind her wool jacket.

Sabrina, Las Vegas, NV   March 4th, 2008 11:08 pm ET

Negative ads, negative campaigning, Divide the Party because I have to win at all cost. The Clinton Motto

Charles Curtis   March 4th, 2008 11:07 pm ET

I'm a bit surprised about Ohio, but then again it's only 50% counted. There's still time, depending on if the urban centers in Cleveland and Cincinnati have been counted yet.

Same here in Texas. If Clinton is ahead based on South Texas, look out because DFW and Houston are coming, and it won't be pretty.

Yes, Hillary took RI and OH, but all Obama needs to do in TX is keep it split and he's got the nomination.

kim   March 4th, 2008 11:07 pm ET

Okay Hillary just won Ohio….oh well….Obama folks we need to get to the accuarcy of Hillary. What was her schedule as first lady of Arkansas, why doesn't Bill release Hillary's schedule when she was first lady? How is that any different than holding a meeting that she is sounding off for Barack for not doing. It would appear that her schedule does not reflect the claims of experience that she states she has. Secondly, why are they refusing to disclose their tax returns….what are they not wanting to disclose?

What is the love relationship with Obama? He is in the wrong time and time again. The media dreaming of the future ratings he will bring tries to make him a dream when in fact if you listen to him he is a nightmare. A reality that civilizations all over the world throughout time have eventually faced. He speaks dreams or is he speaking against democracy? Open your eyes America before it is too late.

Dumb Americans   March 4th, 2008 11:05 pm ET

dumb americans dumb americans…haha. It's actually funny how messed up your country is. I use to think it was government, but no it's the people as well. You actually think its a shock that your country is on the tight rope and is no longer the world power. no one admires America..no one even wants to live there. Perhaps you should take a look at yourselves…..and think….your standard of living is a joke. your division between rich and poor is a joke. Your media built up Hillary then brought her down…while bringing Barack Obama up…then bring back down Barack and now Hillary is the darling in the media again. They are playing you for fools….idiots.

Sabrina, Las Vegas, NV   March 4th, 2008 11:04 pm ET

I hope the Clinton campaign spins until they knock themselves out.
I also hope the voters in Ohio get their just deserts. NAFTA will continue in full speed! Jobs will continue to leave and the Clinton will continue to enrich themselves and their washington friends.

btw…..Hillary release your tax returns and your White House papers

k. raford   March 4th, 2008 11:04 pm ET

wow! i started out as a clinton supporter. i was converted to the obama campaign when i realized he will not play dirty to win an election. clinton is no different than the republicans with that vague answer on 60 minutes about whether she believes obama is a muslim (not that that is a bad thing… ). she played on the racist fears of most. omg! a muslim. you cant trust a muslim. LOL! forget about the fact that he is a christian born in hawaii. people allowed her to do exactly what Bush's people did to kerry. so clinton supporters do not cry when john mccain becomes the president on 1/20/09, she can't beat him in the general election. that's why every republican is praying for a clinton/mccain match up. i will just sit back and know that my conscious is clear. i voted for the candidate that can win… barack obama. ohio citizens, keep crying about the loss of jobs. you allowed bush to swindle your state in 2004. wait until john mccain gets a hold of ya.

edra   March 4th, 2008 11:04 pm ET

As pointed earlier, the Clintons will do anything to get their way regardless of what the voting public wants.

Now that McCain has won the Republican nomination, Clinton's attempt to "win at all costs" will drag nout to the convention and will create increasing disdain for the Clintons and the Democrats.

If she doesn't cut the stuff, the she will hand the election to McCain on a silver platter

Well, we had a caucus here in Washington State. The weensy town where I live did all right as far as I can tell, but nearer to the Seattle/Tacoma area the Obama people were loud, raucus and rude. Some Clinton people showed up, then left in disgust. Others were on their way, but turned around and went home.

As someone who as experienced caucuses directly and lived in Illinois where we could see the Iowans "caucusing", we learned early that caucuses are anything but democratic.

Heard someone the other day say how I feel: Clinton campaigns like she is having a job interview; Obama campaigns like he is on a date.

Personally, I am past the dating phase of life. It scares that Obama may win the primaries, but lose to the R slime machine. He and his people whined about the way Bill Clinton treated him in S.C. Wait to see how he handles the R sliming. If he does manage to win the election, then what?

An unhappy Texas Democrat

Michael Moore said it "If there is a way to screw it up, the Democrats will find it" Obama has more states, more delagates, and probably will until the end , no matter how slim, any way you look at it, he's ahead. Now the Clinton campaign is saying they should continue because they won big states? Let's keep this going until June and let McCain get ahead!!

bcford   March 4th, 2008 11:03 pm ET

Has anyone noticed that Barama is winning in the affluent urban counties and Hillary is winnning in the rural areas where the "plainfolks are. Barrack said "he wasn't born rich" now i think he is beginning Don't waste Hillary she is trained for the job. Ian Walter   March 4th, 2008 11:01 pm ET

Fascinating. It's truly amazing how gullible the electorate continues to be. Many of you so-called progressives are embracing the Clintonesque-politics of division, only this time you are letting them tear apart your own party along racial lines, religious lines, and any other demographics where wedges can fit.

They throw enough mud and things start to look muddy, but only if they can count on you being naive. You have always cried about the scorched earth politics of Karl Rove and his ilk, but you can't see it in your own house.

I am an Obama Republican. My party doesn't deserve me and if you guys can't get your house in order, your party doesn't deserve Obama.

Yvette   March 4th, 2008 11:01 pm ET

Hilary can no longer ignore her republican roots. How much lower can she go, lying in bed with rep. John McCain to sink her fellow democratic candidate. Canadians are much smarter than us Americans. The Prime Minister will not be re-elected. Watch and see. How is is possible that just before the final eve of a primary the Clintons are able to project some derivisive, nasty attach on Obama and get away with it? Is the press blind.

It is clear that John McCain is afraid of Obama since he has joined forces with the Clintons to destroy him. Shame on us Americans.

This interruption of the Clinton Campaign conference call doesn't make sense. Just a coincident? So, why didn't the Obama guy just apologize and hang up?

This is rude and studpid! What's the idea? Or is there one?

M. J. T.   March 4th, 2008 11:01 pm ET

Getting OH to extend the voting time was due to a mysterious shortage of ballots in at least two counties…beginning to sound like FL, anyone?

McCain must be dancing a jig about all this Clinton/Obama debacle bringing grief to the Democratic party. You want McCain? Keep it up, then, y'all. McCain is, according to all the polls, most likely to beat Clinton. Guess that's why he's hitting on Obama so hard, and leaving Clinton pretty much alone. Makes him almost seem like he's campaigning for her…in case you were wondering why.

I just wonder how the Clinton camp got hold of the fact that the meeting with the Canadians took place. Did they set the meeting up, or is the economic adviser connected with anybody from the Clinton camp? I dont think that issue ends here, it was just too convenient considering where the respective Democratic candidates were at that point.

CNN want to do a bit of investigative journalism?

Stop Lying!   March 4th, 2008 10:59 pm ET

Canada denounce any such treatment from the Obama camp. They said the same thing that Obama said which is HE NEVER NEGOTIATED ANYTHING CONTRARY TO WHAT HE SAID ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL. So no he never said that NAFTA was okay…that is what Hillary did…and SHE SUPPORTED NAFTA until she notice that is wasn't working just like she SUPPORTED the war until she discovered it wasn't working either…

Some experience…I could have done that.

Will Obama sue or persecute everyone who did not vote for him? Kind of like dictator manners? God, save us, what we have to go through with this immature, narcissistic candidate? How far they are willing to go?

I just left the caucus for my precinct in Texas. It was the most inefficient unorganied process i have ever witnessed. The people who were in charge of obtaining signatures for Senator Clinton were lying and representing themselves as being those collecting votes for Senator Obama. There were about 100 people caucusing for Clinton and about 800 caucusing for Obama. Though I live in an area which is overwhelmingly white, about 80 percent of the caucus attendees were black.. Not reflective at all of what i'm seeing on CNN's poll results.

Ben   March 4th, 2008 10:55 pm ET

You people are ridiculous. Splitting the Democratic party!!!! The people in Pennsylvania have a right to have their voice heard, and the superdelegates have a right given to them. If Obama was in the same position he would flip his views too. Hillary stays in! Get over it. She is standing her ground, and whomever wins the nomination, at least we will know that all of the states got to express their opinions.

Your nonsense about dropping out for the unity of the democratic party is undemocratic. Go join the republican machine and vote for McCain!

This coverage is very biased, in particular the discussion of who independents are favoring: Either Schneider or Anderson interpreted a 48 clinton 52% obama edge among both Republicans and Independents as "the independents are all voting for Obama"

Au contraire, it appears to me that Clinton is getting a remarkable number of Independents and disappointed Republicans considering the evil total partisan that she is being portrayed as in ALL of the coverage. SO she CAN get independents and republicans, AND obviously the black vote will go to the ticket. AND I fully expect that whoever loses the nomination will be out there campaigning for the ticket also!

Hey Glen you're an idiot   March 4th, 2008 10:54 pm ET

His economic advisor talked to the Canadian Government, only to reiterate the point that he will redraft the NAFTA that PRESIDENT CLINTON put into action.

I'm glad you know exactly what they talked about and that you were there to hear it all.

Typical Clinton supporters, bashing and going negative with false attacks and lies.

Obama '08, End this Era of Politics

P.S. I was willing to vote for Clinton in a General Election, but the more negative her campaign and supporters show, the more I just refuse to vote for her. Just keep in mind that polls continue to show she has a 48% disapproval rate throughout the country. It's hard to win an election with that.

CLINTON WINS OHIO!!!!! WAY TO GO, HILLARY!!!
Bye bye, Obama!!

Sarah   March 4th, 2008 10:54 pm ET

Amy in Iowa,
Hillary is ahead by a few thousand in Texas.

Jen   March 4th, 2008 10:54 pm ET

Why did CNN take down the blog post about Obama calling McCain to congratulate him?? HEmmmm. Is it possible Obama wanted it taken down because it showed him for the evil, pompous fool he is.

Vasilios Birlidis   March 4th, 2008 10:53 pm ET

Wow! Could it be that the Obama campaign is starting to crack under pressure? Does anyone not have a problem with one campaign crashing another campaign's conference call?

Looks like Obama may need to rethink who is running his campaign.

Berkeley   March 4th, 2008 10:53 pm ET

Some of you Obama people are such big loosers that the only thing you can think of is to insult Hillary. I don't see our people doing the same to Obama. We may say that it is too soon for him to apply for the job, or that he should cool it with his demagogy. But we don't say he is low life, a lier, or the so many other names you like to call Hillary.
Just accept it, you are loosing.
You can't be be taken seriously as a candidate, if you don't want the big States. And you haven't won any!

JL   March 4th, 2008 10:53 pm ET

Hillary 08!!!!!!!!!!!

Dolores   March 4th, 2008 10:53 pm ET

Obama had to call lawyers ,how very differen,t for a candidate of change. Hey listen when the going gets rough the rough…..well, we know.

If Obama camp thinks this is tough well, just wait til the general election.

Mrs./Sen. Clinton has withstood every sling of mudd thrown at her, Obama not so much.

If you can't stand the heat………

At POTUS needs thick skin!

Actually, Clinton is the crybaby…the candidate who has blamed her losses on everyone and everything possible except herself. It goes along with the Clinton history, though, all the way back to Arkansas.

Clinton's long-touted "experience" is a total of 15 years (see Time article on presidential experience), with 8 of those being president's wife. That, my friends, is not political experience.

HRC has proven herself, again & again over the last 15 years, to be an egotistical, hateful, personally-nasty woman who is determined to have whatever she wants…at any cost and by any means.

Obama may prove to be no better, but I'd rather take that chance and give him the benefit of the doubt, than go with the proven history behind Clinton.

sad   March 4th, 2008 10:52 pm ET

let's get them on the same ticket and get on with it. Democrats love them both.

Laughing   March 4th, 2008 10:52 pm ET

I love how Clinton supporters think Obama is the negative one. That's so hypocritical and hilarious.

Jennifer   March 4th, 2008 10:52 pm ET

Caucusing was horrible. My sister (Clinton) was left along w/ other standing in the cold w/ no communication from those conducting the process. I (Obama) voted in Tarrant County and although I voted w/ no problem, my caucus vote will likely not be counted because I magically no longer appeared on the list. It is a stupid process that has angered many people I know.

mike   March 4th, 2008 10:52 pm ET

obama sucks you people dont even know why you like him.

vl   March 4th, 2008 10:51 pm ET

Oh, by the way, just heard from some friends in TX….. Obama's strong-armers and screamers have been at it again scareing people and making them leave caucus sites.

Sick!

Sean   March 4th, 2008 10:49 pm ET

Amazing… The Clinton campaign goes directly to the media to make accusations against Obama. And the Obama campaign gets chastized for defending itself against yet-to-be-proved allegations? They are trying to "try this case" in the media. Where are the facts? Where are the FEC workers? There are proper ways to deal with complaints, and in the media is NOT even in the top ten.

truth_be_told33   March 4th, 2008 10:49 pm ET

People in this forum and everywhere else deserves the actual facts.
I AM FROM TEXAS AND I KNOW THAT OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN CLEARLY VIOLATED THE CAUCUS RULES BY GIVING AWAY THE FORMS TO THEIR SUPPORTERS WAY BEFORE EVEN THE POLLS CLOSE.

Obama's campaign is acting clearly like a 4 year old…..

They were whinning in SC, and now bullying in TX…..

Whats next???

nht   March 4th, 2008 10:49 pm ET

Obama camp is so whiny, they ar getting des
