Obama raises $55 million in February

Obama raised $55 million in February.
Obama raised $55 million in February.

(CNN) – Barack Obama’s campaign said Thursday that it had set a new campaign fundraising record, raising $55 million in February – roughly $20 million more than rival Hillary Clinton during the same time period. Nearly all of the money came in the form of contributions that can be used during the primary process.

The campaign said that 727,972 donors contributed to the campaign last month, including 385,101 first-time contributors. More than one million individuals have donated to Obama’s presidential campaign since it began last year.

More than $45 million of the February haul came in the form of online contributions, according to the campaign. More than 90 percent of those donations were $100 or less; half were $25 or less. Three-quarters of online donors in February were first-time contributors, and more than a third of those individuals went on to engage in volunteer activity coordinated through the campaign’s Web site.

$55 MILLION is impressive that is just too bad you obamabots have wasted your money. after outspending Hillary in TX and OH 3-1 obama still couldn't buy votes. Now Hillary on the other hand raised 35 million dollars after obamas 10 wins and now is raising 3.6 million a day...and she WON TX AND OH!

That is too bad CNN didn't show Hillary's press conference with the Generals and Admirals today, but surely this will shut the media up from parroting obamas garbage questioning Hillary's experience and now they should focus on obamas experience. It looks as though the media is reverting again.

hey why don't you all ask yourselves who has the most pledged delegates, most popular votes, and the most states won?

why don't you also ask how many federal lobbystis/PACS donated to the campaign?

    yea, i thought so.

hillary is the same old politics. her top-down approach will not work. not now. not ever.

Apparently there are more than a few people out there who are either so incredibly blinded by heavenly choirs that even their wallets open up to Obama or they actually see something in him that Clinton is trying to convince us isn't there. Personally, I am going to give the American public more credit than she does and err on the side of the "there's something there" crowd.

Obama didn't "lose" Texas, folks! Wait till the caucus results come in, they're part of the Texas contest! All Hillary did is win Ohio. Her "big victories" on Tuesday are an illusion.

    GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He has the most pledged delegates, too.

And by the way folks, he got endorsements from 3 more superdelegates so far today – one in Vermont, one in New Mexico, and one forthcoming from West Virginia. Add that to the 2 from yesterday.

Republicans gave Hillary Texas and Ohio because they know she's easier to beat in the general election.

you do realize that clinton's net delegate gain was around 9, right?

that's less than the net obama won in iowa alone.

Glad to have contributed to this! I love to read all the Hillary suppoters posts! You say we are sore losers, but at least we acknowledge the fact that we lost and don't discount it. I think everyone needs to look at the margins and remember Obama was down by 20 points 2 weeks ago. We are on the way to the White House! Yes We Can!!!! (and will)

America loves Obama. That's why the polls showing winning the popular vote over both Clinton and McCain. This is not about a black or white, male or female thing. Americans all over just love this intelligent man with the vision to fix this country.

Who should be his running mate? I'd like Lou Dobbs. We'd have the best of all worlds, including someone who advocate sending the Clinton loving illegal aliens back where they belong.
