Limbaugh: So-called 'Dream Ticket' doesn't have a prayer

Limbaugh said a ticket with Obama and Clinton doesn't have a prayer.

Limbaugh said a ticket with Obama and Clinton doesn't have a prayer.

(CNN) - Many Democrats have called the prospect of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama teaming up for the general election a "dream ticket."

But conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday a presidential ticket that included a "woman and a black" doesn't "have a prayer."

"Let's say it is Obama and Hillary...Let's put Hillary at the top - That's a position she's familiar with," Limbaugh said on his radio show Thursday. "Therefore, you've got a woman and a black for the first time ever on the Democrat ticket. Ahem. They don't have a prayer."

Donna Brazile, Al Gores former presidential campaign manager, called the comments "un-American."

"I'm an American. And I'm proud to be an American," Brazile said on CNN's The Situation Room Wednesday. "But I think that comment is, as far as I can tell, a very un-American conversation, because African-Americans and women fight for this country. We have died for this country."

“To suggest, somehow or another, that we are not capable of serving this country in the capacity of Commander-in-Chief is just, in my mind, mind-boggling," she continued. "So, with all due respect to Mr. Limbaugh, just wait. Let the people decide. And I guarantee you, the people will make a better decision than Rush Limbaugh."

Limbaugh's comments came hours after Hillary Clinton said the Democratic presidential race could result in a joint ticket.

“That may be where this is headed,” she told CBS Wednesday morning. “But of course we have to decide who is on the top of ticket. I think the people of Ohio very clearly said that it should be me."

Obama later called any speculation of teaming up with Clinton "premature."

JB and others who feel the same –
Open your eyes, Race has been playing an important part in this election.
It has been proven that the majority of African Americans are voting for Obama, period. And many say they will not vote in the general election if Hillary is the candidate. Look at the statistics. Its sickening. I personally know people voting for him based on his race, and even a crush. It's cult-like behavior and that's scary.

In addition, Obama has gone negative before. What a hypocrite. He acts like his negative flyers against Hillary didn't exist. Just like his handling of NAFTA. Say one thing, but mean another...
Obama is the person that will do anything to win.

I vote on who I think will best run the country and my vote is for Clinton or McCain.

Thank goodness Rush Limbaugh gives voice to what everyone knows. That racism and sexism are alive and well in certain quarters of our land. Well done, Sir, well done. Now get back on your approved meds before trashing young black drug addicts. After all, do as you say, not as you do. You The Man, Sir. You The Man.

Why does CNN and other news agencies continue to give Limbaugh a voice? Haven't we all learned that this guy has a screw loose and needs to be locked up somewhere?

Stop reporting on what this guy says. It makes CNN look like sensationalists and not a hard news agency.

I must admit I once listen to Rush a lot. Now I would not ever listen if that was the only show on the radio . He would put down anything that Dems. would say. I think someone has told him that he is begining considered as a VP possibility on the Rep. ticket. What a true joke that would be a true american hero and a drugged up radio talk show guy.

Rush did not mean it as a racial or sexist slur. Read between the lines people...and get the rest of the statement. People are scared of scared in fact that they would rather vote for McCain than her. Her far-left, socialist ideas are anything but American. Then you have Obama, with no major accomplishments, no patriotism, a wife who has been "ashamed" of America her entire adult life, and a pastor who praises radicals – calling 9/11 the "colored man's" revenge against America – and who is also very separatist. Obama also served on the board of an anti-Israel organization in, a group with ties to Islamic radicals. Not to mention, he's also pro-infanticide(killing an already born baby if he/she has severe defects) Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama....not the American ticket at all.

    Rush is Right.

And to answer the question posed earlier... millions and millions tune into Rush everyday...I'm one of them.
I would like to hear the daily listeners of "Air America". I'm sure all 20 listeners love it.

Why did Donna Brazile say that Rush suggests that women and blacks can’t serve as the C-in-C? All He suggests is that an Obama/Clinton ticket would not get elected.

The person that reads such a generalization from a targeted comment is the one that suffers from racism/sexism.

Limbaugh has made millions of dollars with his dumb
ideas and his lies. Now, who keeps him popular?
The Rupublicans. For all "the people" know, he may
be consorting with the Republican parties as to what
line he'll use for the day, to upset the Nation. He should
have been banned from Radio many years ago, but
then again he makes money for the Republicans. His
popularity is based on money. Anything for money.
Ditto for the above for ANN COULTER. Did Rush gain weight?
Or is that just his fat head.

Why should Obama team up with Clinton they are very different one is connected with the old guard of the Democrat Machine the other Senator Obama is not.People want Obama and Texas and Ohio wins for Hillary are a fluke.
Obama's support is very high around the Country and CNN needs to realize this.
The next 12 Primaries will be strong for Obama.
Its good people are looking more closely at Obama and in so doing will like what they hear and see.
Again noway that their will be an Obama/Clinton team.
I don't like Rush at all but this is true .
Their is to much of a split between progressive Democrats and the Moderate and Conservative wing which supports Senator Clinton it will never happen.

Who CARES what Limbaugh thinks. He KNOWS that a combination of Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton would knock McCain out of the race.

Rush is a disgusting excuse for a human being.

In between his insulting sexual innuendo about Clinton and his borderline racist additude about Obama, I'm shocked his listeners haven't worn off their knuckles from dragging them on the floor for so long.

If the fate of this country depends on the "noise" of Rush Limbaugh, then we all need to jump onto ships and head back to the land of our ancestors! On second thought, why don't we put Limbaugh on a boat and send him away! There are more shark infested waters in the Pacific Ocean so let's send him in that direction!

Who is Rush Limbaugh anyway that such importance is placed on all that he comments. That CNN places his comments as important and as MAJOR news is beyond comprehension. You only fuel the man more and allow him to make even more negative and unAmerican comments. Conservative Radio Talk Show Host???? There is nothing CONSERVATIVE about this man. What he needs are manners. And shame on those people who agree with him.

I think his mother never washed out his mouth with soap.

"UnAmerican..."? UnAmerican because neither Obama or Clinton (probably not McCain, either) are qualified in any aspect to be President? Nothing like throwing race and gender into the blender, Donna. Keep up the good work.

Why in the world does the press keep quoting idiot Rush Limbaugh? His only claim to fame is his hero status for angry white men. What he says, does, or thinks is no matter because the American people are sick of his type of rhetoric and stupidity. Hillary and Obama scares all of those right-wing idiots to death. I hope and pray that Hillary and Obama to deam up and bring America back from its doldrums that the Republicans got us into.
