Obama radio ad targets Clinton’s Mississippi comments

(CNN) – Barack Obama’s campaign has debuted a new radio ad in Mississippi called "Respect," highlighting what they call “derogatory” remarks Hillary Clinton made about the state late last year.

The ad also argues that Obama will “practice his Christian faith by respecting us” - an apparent push-back against the false Muslim rumors that have dogged him throughout the campaign.

In the 30-second spot, former Mississippi Governor Ray Mabus, an Obama supporter, derides Clinton for comments she made last fall singling out the state’s record of electing female politicians.

"I was shocked when I learned Iowa and Mississippi have never elected a woman governor, senator or member of Congress," Clinton told the Des Moines Register in October. "There has got to be something at work here. How can Iowa be ranked with Mississippi? That's not the quality. That's not the communitarianism, that's not the openness I see in Iowa.'"

Mabus accuses the Clinton campaign of calling Mississippi voters “second class.”

“Now I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of people putting us down,” Mabus says in the ad. “Tired of politicians trying to divide our nation instead of lifting it up.”

Mississippi voters head to the polls next Tuesday, March 11, with 33 Democratic delegates at stake.

Hey, I'd rather see Obama win, but Hillary would make a great President too. Believe me, the rest of the world is desperate to see an intelligent, articulate, informed President in the White House again. Either will do.

Why is Change so comical? Reguardless of your party some people are not ready for change. Change is coming whether it under China rule or India. Two of the countries we have sold our future and place in the world to. How many of you are sitting in a job that you can not be outsourced?.. Do you want a President that don't make excuses for making the wrong decision? Do you want a president when his or Her back is against the wall come out fighting with untrue and racism....What if Obama was a Muslim? This country was invaded, so that immigrants had the freedom of religion. I guess she will remind us, when everything else fail that he is Black....and would that be the whole truth!..NO!.

The republicnas will make sure she wont be President. And Obama doesnt want her on the ticket with him so she's screwed.

It is sad that Obama has to do this kind of thing, but clearly the people of Texas and Ohio bought into it. It should not be very hard for Obama though. The Clintons are immoral, and underhand. I'd start with the tax returns that she is "too busy" to deal with. Pity she can't afford an accountant, must have used up all her money lending it to her disgusting campaign.

In case anyone missed it, this is from "Mad in Texas" (a Clinton supporter). It's hard to imagine a better argument FOR Obama:

"If he should be so lucky as to gain the White House how is he a shoeshine boy going to change it with all the other politicians up there. He can't even handle one woman. BUT WHAT A WOMAN> Whip his little butt. Go back to Kenya Obama and leave us alone. HILLARY 08"

Thank you Chris. I have been reading a lot of blogs lately and wonder where everyone picks up their facts. I think if anyone wants to make accusations you should cite your source so I can check the facts. I don't believe most of what you people write on both sides. Very few people raise the gender issue but I think it's out there. Too many 'good ol boy' networks have been offended by Clinton. In 1870 the 15th amendment gave black men the right to vote. Women of any color were unable to vote for 50 more years when in 1920 the 19th amendment was ratified. I fear that winning the Presidency may take that much longer also.

Do not forget that in 2000 Al Gore could have been the president by losing Florida and winning his state of Tennessee. When will the state of Florida ever learn? They were disenfranchised by the Republicans in 2000 and voted for Bush, again (!), in 2004. Democrats, please, teach them a lesson. So goes Florida...only Republicans benefit.

More hateful Obama supporters. And, clueless. Of course, they were in diapers when the Clintons were dragged through the mud. There's nothing else to vett. On the other hand, Obama hasn't seen nothin yet. He's a crooked politician, and the truth shall set him free...from any longer being able to run for President.

OBAMA 08 and thats all i have to say

And for all my hillary supporters yall know she has been running a horrible campaign........i mean look at how her campaign is fallen apart even though she won 3 states!!! Duh and you think she can run a country or unite a country!!! This is not about obama going negative everything that is coming out or about to come out are the plain facts!!! if hillary cant get major delegates from states she doesnt bother with the states. Just like in the potomac primaries she didnt bother with us, she didnt bother with the smaller states or southern states like we dont exist!! And thats why i am not going to bother to elect her for the white house!!!!

For the sake of information, Bill Clinton was in Toronto giving a speech at
    a fund raising event.
Also in attendance were John Travolta, Tom Cruise and many other high flyers. So he couldn't possibly have been in Texas. Why is it now that H.C. wants to change the rules in Florida and Michigan? They were sanctioned by the party and the sanctions were agreed to by the candidates. So now, the party is wrong. I think the Clinton campaign is desperate.

so that Clinton with you Clinton throw a bunch of stink in Obama is Ok,and Obama do that is not?
by the way let me show you a simple math
Cinton win texas primary with 3 point but now in caucues obama lead with more than 11 point and The ratio is P 2/3 ,C 1/3
    so we have 3*1/3=2
and 11*1/3=3.66 so the win Of TEXAS is Obama

Interesting how so many of you will criticize someone for being positive, uplifting, and for providing solutions for all people, and then cherish their opponent despite their being negative. If that isn't hypocrisy, I don't know what is.

Good for the Great State of Mississippi! Remember, Obama cares for all Americans, not just the corporate elite. Ohio didn't get it. Mississippi sure does.

The Obama campaign is SAD and PATHETIC without a BACKBONE!
The american people need to hear solutions, not speeches. Perhaps Barack should sell vacuums and give speeches!

Obama is sure to lose. Not worth spending anymore time listening to his farse speeches.

    If not Hillary, then McCain!

Clintons are old politicians, and they are doing what ever probaganda they can undermine Senetor Obama. however, is that work for them? i don't think so. Obama should't go after Helary becouse that is victory for NEO-CANS. folks remember that in Texas, republicans voted for her becouse they know they can beet her 2 to 1 in the general election.

Obama started all the negative's ,slamming Hillary at every campaign about Iraq, Nafta etc. She fires back now he cant take it.She just brings the truth about leadership.I dont think Obama wants to get to dirty.Hillary will tear him apart. He is involved in alot of corruptions that he isnt letting anyone know about. The Clintons have been picked and tore open through the years. They have nothing to hide that hasnt been surfaced already. Obama has met his match with Hillary. She is a little pitbull when she is cornered.I think he better think twice ,before she opens the closet to his corrupt deals. He can sell the American voters ,but he dont sell me. Go Hillary

Kevin your comment is the most irrational point, I have ever had the misfortune to have read. Perhaps, you are intellectually bankrupt.

From every analyses of the primaries so far, the most educated USA citizens are voting Obama.

Do you really mean that the very intellectual minds in USA are "NAIVE"? Or your head is not attached to your neck?
