I hear all the time that the democrats are making each other look bad but I think the republican party looks worse of all. There is not way John MCCain can beat Hillary. I look at John McCain and I don't know if the republican party can see it for just don't care, but John McCain is in bad shape. This man has started to look and act his age. The pressure is on and he doesn't look like he will be able to take this kind of pressure at his age and health. IT IS NOT WAY HILLARY WILL NOT BEAT JOHN MCCAIN. I wonder if McCain's mental status is taking the toll like his physical health has. I like John McCain, and five, ten years ago he would have been competition for any candidate. But now, he just needs to get somewhere and sit down. He is like when Bob Doyle tried to run at seventy yrs old and lost. No body wants someone who is seventy years old as president. Let's face it, at seventy years old, your mind is not as fresh and quick as it was when you are younger and we are talking the most important job in the USA, the COMMANDER AND CHIEF. With lots of love to John McCain, please withdraw. It comes a time in all of our lives when we know we need to retire. It looks like it is his time now. I know the truth hurts, and I am sorry. The republican party should have let Hucklebee have the nomination. HE would have been competition. We all liked Hucklebee and he had the ability and qualities to run. But John McCain is no competition for Hillary.

Vote Obama???

your comment is beyond words... everything you noted goes right back to the fact that Obama has little experience... I live in IL and it is sad that he is saying that his "present" vote is strategy... and he thinks that he has good judgement because he was not in the Senate during 911... to say he would vote against the war??? At that time I believe over 70% of the population wanted to go to war especially any Senator from New York...

I sure would have loved to been in a room with you right after the towers fell... I am pretty sure at that moment Obama and his supporters were thinking that I knew it was going to happen sooner or later... Oh Well!!!

Obama is getting more desparate evey day.His campaign is falling apart so he is making charges that are way out in left field.
If I were he,I would not bring up issues of national security or defense becuase he cannot come close to matching Hillarys experience or knowledge.

Its ironic that we accuse the Clinton campaign of flip flopping but yet no one knows what the Obama campaign has been up to. He preaches transparency but yet no outline the the " change" he intends. He has not had a good voting record, he was against the war but yet he voted to fund it. Obama needs to do more work than talk. When Bill Clinton took office, the economy was at its peak in this country, then what happened? We made the wrong choice. Do we want to make that mistake again? Should we listen to one who talks a lot or the one who has more knowledge and experience in the senate seat. One last thing, the obama campaign accused Hilary Clinton of bad judgement, how about his judgement ? We dont know his judgement. I feel that he does not have the proper judgement to be Commander in chief. We the people of the United States of America must be wise and cautious with the choice that we make. Everyone should vote.

I hate to tell you Obama-bots this, but the Superdelegates will most likely determine the outcome of this election. With that in mind, they must look at which candidate won what states. They have no choice but to look at the states that are most likely to vote for a democrat and the ones that most likely go to the Republicans in November. Since Obama has not won a large democratic state, they will have no choice but to consider this in their decision. There are RED and BLUE states and that's a fact. JFK lost the popular vote but won the election, because he carried the BIG BLUE states. Hope you guys are at least prepared for the possibility

Once again Hillary wants it both ways,. Can she ever take a stand and stick with it,, She mocks Obama being an inspirational leader because she can't inspire anyone. And when is Hillary going to release her tax returns and foundation documents and other archives from the White House. Is it "soon" yet? She is a secretive candidate, was a secretive First Lady and don't kid yourself supporters that she won't be a secretive president,. we have one of those now and she apparently agrees with him on torture.

Why is it ok to change your mind about torture? You are either for it, or against it. And saying you are "for some of it" and then changing to against it when running for President is NOT acceptable.

Isn't Obama Pro Death penalty? Is he aware how many Innocent people are prosecuted in this process and according statistics most African American?
What about his mission to United THe World If his party is falling apart in this process.
And his refusal for the possibility to work together I don't read that as person how is capable to united people.

M. S. Indiana: The only torture going on is Obama torturing Hillary by sending his senior advisor to other countries and calling poor Hillary a Monster! Then Obama blames Hillary for negative ads costing him votes. When the truth is the Obama campaign lost voters due to his own campaign; like when top advisor went to Canada and said Obama wasn't really against Nafta after they said he was.... and after Obama' Sr. advisor told the paper that she doubt if Obama would withdraw the troops like he had promised... and called Hillary a monster. The only negative going around is from the Obama campaign. Just like this supporter M.S. INdiana is taking about the Clintons torturing ppl. What the world is that? What levels the Obama campaign and supporters won't go to win is amazing. Obama is always talking about Hillary. Because he is scared to talk issues because everytime he does, like the Nafta and bringing the troops home, he is caught in a lie. So he is trying to brainwash the ppl into voting for him by trying to ruin Hillary's character. Talk issues Obama! Stop talking about what happened to you, or about Hillary and talk Issues. Hillary talks issues. There is a reason why Obama is not talking issues. Because the issues were discussed in Chicage before he ran for President by a few ppl. But he is not running for President of Chicago, or Africa, or wherever, he is running for President for all the ppl in the United states. So talk issues. The more Obama talks issues the more he gets caught in lies. Hillary is for all Americans. She is the answer to our economic trouble and ending the war in Iraq. Vote for Hillary!

Obama you need to focus on real issues... You lost my vote last week when you started acting like every other politician... I can not believe you question NY Senator Clinton about her vote to go to war... It is obvious that you have no military background... I guess it depends on what you consider torture...

All I know is that its "torture" reading this story and all of these blogs!!!

How can America preach to the rest of the world on human rights when the President does not believe in them.

Shame on America, the end does not justify the means, ever fullstop.
The world needs you Obama, America needs you Obama.

HILARY
Has a lot of experience, 35 yrs, which she can bring to the wtihe house..
OBAMA
Has a speech

Americans..Lets think about this....

In the 2002 'speech'..Obama predicted that the war would lead America where it is now, Economically, socially, internationally.
therefore opposed it.

Hilary, in her experience, 2002, making it ...35-6 yrs.....which is still a lot of experience, used her experience and judgmenrt, knowledge and wits...to come to the decision to vote for the war???/

just a speech?

Sometimes there is only one way to get information from someone. Are you going to let some guy who has extensive knowledge of a potential attack just sit in a cell while the US is trying to figure out what to do? If someone is part of a terrorist organization, they deserve whatever treatment they get. If terrorist groups can kill hundreds or thousands of people, what's just one person getting tortured? I don't care, the safety of millions of people could depend upon it.

This pretains to the College students who participated in state caucauses. Won't these same students have to vote in the precient/state that is their permanent address? I can't picture a college student giving up their permanent residence just to vote in the state where they attend college. So caucauses don't seem to show the actual votes per state.

When I read these comments it makes me very sad to be an American...

It sounds to me like all of you have forgotten 911 and the burning of the towers... it sounds like almost all of you do not support our troops and the dangers they encounter daily... I can not believe that Obama is winning votes because Clinton voted for the war... She is only a Senator from New York or "ground zero"... I guess I should have expected Obama supporters to try and take the high road and let people walk all over them... never stand up for what they believe in... and turn the ringer off at 3am...

I guess I wish I lived in the same dream world all of you live in... I know in the real world there are people out there that hate you for no reason... there are people out there that do not care if they kill thousands of innocent mothers, fathers, or children... right now two girls going to college were killed in random acts of violence...

I know reading all of these blogs is "torture"!!!

If people really going to listen to Obama talks but not the walk,my guess is you are such a naive.Theres an article about Obama on the internet, people said he risk his career by standing against the war and rally in Chicago and told the anti war rallies that it is still not to late to stop the wwar.By then US already invaded IRAQ.So where is this promises?
2ndly he's talking about immigration and how bad is Mccain for legalizing the illegal in Immigration. But he did co-sponsor "Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act' introduced by John Mccain. And he did added three admendments for the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act; which then failed the Senate of house representative.he really doesnt teach what he reach about illegal immigration.
3rdly in August 2007 he said this "it was a terrible mistake to fail to act" against a 2005 meeting of al-Qaeda leaders that U.S. intelligence had confirmed to be taking place in Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas. He said that as president he would not miss a similar opportunity, even without the support of the Pakistani government.[114]
For an anti war person who preach that Iraq war is wrong. What does he meant by above captions.Isnt invading a country of your ally and thus recreated misunderstand between the US and Parkistan.Isnt this creating war?
4thly,he's talking about diplomacy between iran, syria and middle eastern countries but he did vote for Iran santion enabling Act.And he did says this as well.At a meeting with Palestinian students two weeks before Hamas won the legislative election, Obama warned that "the U.S. will never recognize winning Hamas candidates unless the group renounces its fundamental mission to eliminate Israel.didn't he said that when he deal with Iran and hamas he will be diplomacy. So is he being lip flop again

OhioVoter, are you insane? You're making your judgment calls based on the tv-drama, "24." ?!?!?

Wow, what a sad sad country we're living in if the vast majority can no longer comprehend real world scenarios, where all of our "knowledge" comes not from peer-reviewed journals, but from Hollywood. No wonder Ohio went to Clinton and the "un-educated." Smarten up, America.

It is amazing to me everywhere you look you see Obama's face. He may be ahead in the delegates, but Hillary is ahead in the superdelegates. And although Obama won Wyoming of just 4,000, Hillary got 3,400 so not many ppl vote at these caucus. I have heard a lot of ppl say they have switched from Obama to Clinton which is good. I think ppl have seen Obama's real side. The side where he said he was against NaFTA and then sent his advisor to Canada and said not really. Then there was the senior advisor who told the scotish paper Hillary is a monster, and that Obama would not really start to withdraw the troops as he has promised the American ppl. So ppl all around this Country are starting to stop and say, if Obama can't LEAD his own campaign HOW CAN OBAMA LEAD OUR NATION that is already in trouble economically and in war. So I am glad to hear so many are now switching from obama to Hillary. Our country is in a great need an experienced leader, and Hillary has the experience and the backbone needed to stand up for the American ppl and make changes that will bring this Nation back up on TOP again. Vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton, for President!!

Did anyone else notice that OhioVoter justified the position of a Presidential candidate on this issue based on a fictional TV show (“I've seen ‘24.’ As Jack Bauer has shown, sometimes a little torture goes a long way…”)? There are so many interesting books and articles regarding the military efficacy of torture, as well as the moral dilemma posed by its use. Yet, OhioVoter absurdly references the experiences of an imaginary TV character to make his point. What a moron!

Why was Hillary Clinton wavering regarding torture - it sounds like her public comments didn't match what she was writing to the President? Was this more back room dealing that Clinton likes to indulge in? Was she watching the polls that day?

Also, why did MSNBC pull the story that a Canadian newspaper ran stating that Bill Clinton had contacted Canadian government regarding NAFTA not Barack Obama? I saved the first read article. Why is the media not addressing the dirt on the Clintons? Such as a law suit against Bill Clinton for business fraud that will be heard by the Supreme Court of California. What was Hillary's involvement with Ron Paul?

CNN - PLEASE POST 1 OUT OF 100 OF MY COMMENTS...

I would urge people to read the entire ticker ONE MORE TIME. Senator Obama said Mrs. Clinton FLIP-FLOPPED. And the response from her is that she is against it (NOW?). Did she address the FLIP-FLOPPING part?
Someone should teach you people (that says Clinton is awesome) HOW TO READ.

I am pleased that Obama takes the moral high. Torture is wrong. If we don't come out against it, we have NO room to talk when OUR troops are tortured.

I do wish he would defend himself against more of Hillary's smears, but it is clear he is trying to keep the contest positive. The old saying stands true, wrestle with pigs and you'll only get muddy, and the pigs will love it!

Hillary, stop the negativity. You are only hurting the party and cheapening us as a nation in the eyes of the world.

What is Hillary Clinton's definition of torture?? is it: t o r t u r e ???
or is it: e r u t r o t???? She certainly has learned the real meaning from the Clinton machine!!! Talk from both sides of your mouth!! Flip-flop on your answers!! Project ugliness onto your opponent!! Gather the "general's army" together at the round table to make yourself look "like your ready on day one when the phone rings at 3:00 in the morning" when in fact the call goes to the Pentegon and you only served as First Lady in the White House!! (now that is REAL experience)!! Get BillyBoy, the Bull Dog out there to make his "mark" on the American voters and promote a "dream team"!! That will surely garner some votes. After all - Americans will get THREE PRESIDENTS FOR THE VOTE OF ONE!!

What is Hillary Clinton's definition of winning this election? GET THE NOMINATION!! GET THE NOMINATION!! GET IT ANY WAY YOU CAN!! AND BE SURE TO TEAR YOUR DEMOCRATIC PARTY APART WHILE YOU ARE DOING IT!! AND WHEN YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED THIS HISTORY-MAKING ENDEAVOR -- HAVE AN INTERVIEW WITH THE MEDIA AND CRY CROCODILE TEARS!! SIMPLY EXPLAIN TO THEM: IT WASN'T ME -- IT WASN'T ME -- IT WAS A LEFT-WING CONSPIRACY!! YOU BETCHA!! THEY WILL BELIEVE YOU TOO!!

Not surprised Obama got tired of the Iraq vote, so he moves on.

He doesn't have a voting record (the ones he does have is the same as Clinton) so he can voice "I didn't vote for/against a policy".

Try something new Obama, like informing all of us how you plan on changing things; give concrete directions. Oh, wait a minute, he won't because then he will be accused of flip-flopping and anyway, he doesn't have any plans.

Obamalites are leading us down a dangerous path. Thank G** that a lot of Clinton backers will switch to McCain should Obama become the Democratic nominee. He does not have a chance to become more than he is; a motivating speaker.

Regarding Clinton wavering (and general untrustworthiness):

You can fool some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time, but the rest of the time you can let them make fools of themselves.

Don't be fooled by the Clinton lies.

Senator Obama is a man of the rarest integrity, and while he is not as seasoned as Clinton in slinging the mud, which this political sport requires on occasion, at least he got it right here:
"We need a Commander in Chief who has never wavered on whether or not it is acceptable for America to torture, because it is never acceptable,” PERIOD

Being a retired Veteran and understanding a bit about interrogations using proven techniques is a must to gain the information required. There are several techniques used by the military and others. In a perfect world torture would not happen, however we don’t live in a perfect world and our adversaries use whatever techniques they have at their disposal to get their information short of death and sometime even death. It isn’t pretty but the end results out weigh no information.
Obama is showing his immaturity by saying he will outlaw torture techniques if he is elected President. First of all our adversaries use whatever they want to, there’s no Geneva Convention in the terrorists hand book to follow. So if we have a high level terrorist close to Osama Bin Ladin who was captured of coarse he will not talk. I would expect our government agencies to use whatever is required to get the information ie: Osama Bin Ladin.
I don’t agree with Hillary on anything but on this subject she is right on and Obama is looking at this in a perfect world which we don’t live in, he should know this better than most! Freshman Senator shows his limits once again.

Here it is folks:

Clinton backs off support for torture

"As a matter of policy it cannot be American policy, period," Clinton responded, seconding the clear positions of Senators Barack Obama (Ill.)and Joe Biden (Del.).

But in a pair of interviews with the New York Daily News last October, Clinton outlined the same narrow exception that Russert described, and which had also been floated by former President Bill Clinton in an interview last year with National Public Radio.

"If we're going to be preparing for the kind of improbable but possible eventuality, then it has to be done within the rule of law," Clinton said at the time, in a telephone interview with this reporter, expanding on comments to the Daily News Editorial Board that there should be "lawful authority" for torture in some cases.

She said then that the "ticking time bomb" scenario would be a narrow exception to her opposition to torture.

Senator Obama is a man of the rarest integrity, which is why so many fanatical Clinton supporters can't seem to understand him. His exact perspective on the issue of torture is that a man of solid moral judgement will never allow the debate to begin with. This is what his statement says in clear detail: "We need a Commander in Chief who has never wavered on whether or not it is acceptable for America to torture, because it is never acceptable” PERIOD

Regarding the Clintons' wavering: "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but most of the time you can let them make fools of themselves..."

Clinton is a chameleon.

The Clintons were in the White House already for 8 years with a number of scandals.
They did and will do anything for their OWN survival and fame.

The election is NOT a question of candidates’ gender.
It is a question of their personalities, qualities, integrity and capabilities.

First of all, the power-hungry nasty Hillary does not represent WOMEN.
She insults all good, honest and intelligent women.

We should NOT allow the Clintons to go back to the White House to play dirty tricks again. Remember we had enough of them.

You think with all the experience she has had torture would have been outlawed before Bush became president...... Oh yeah the kind of experience that lead to genocides in Bosnia, Rwanda and Kosovo.... That's the kind of experience to be proud of.
