OLD FORGE, Pennsylvania (CNN) — Sen. Hillary Clinton said she had no comment on New York Governor Eliot Spitzer's possible involvement in a prostitution ring.

"I obviously am sending my best wishes and thoughts to the governor and to his family," she told reporters after visiting with reporters in a local pizza parlor.

When asked whether Gov. Spitzer could survive politically she said "let's wait and see what comes out of the next few days. Right now I don't have any comment. I think it's appropriate to wish his family well and see how things develop."

Maybe his wife can run for the office and make her own career…after all she also gained experience from her husband's time in office.

Candace   March 10th, 2008 5:34 pm ET

Hillary knows all about this kind of thing. She knows what it's like to have a no good, cheating husband.

Shame on you Governor Eliot Spitzer!

Rohit   March 10th, 2008 5:35 pm ET

Maybe she can run for the office now. After all, she also gained "experience" while her husband was in office.

CNN: How about giving a chance to your readers for engaging in dialogue with each other by providing some kind of chatting interface with each story? Would be agreat crowd puller.

Hillary's real thought is, darn, now where does Bill get his playmates from.

Celia   March 10th, 2008 5:36 pm ET

Everyone in the Democratic Party should get any discressions out in the open NOW!!!

Laurinda   March 10th, 2008 5:37 pm ET

Honestly it just goes to show you that you can not trust a polltician. They always think that they can get away with everything, but they do get caught sooner or later. Spitzer's wife doesn't look to happy and neither are his fellow Democrats.

Client Number 8   March 10th, 2008 5:38 pm ET

i hope she doesn't say anything else. this whole thing is just a mess and surprising. there's probably more names that will come out.

Kay   March 10th, 2008 5:39 pm ET

I feel sorry for this but he is human. We all make mistakes but we all have to value what he has given to the public and weigh in with what he as done. This is human. We all need a second chance and he should have his own.

Asian's from Obama to Hillary   March 10th, 2008 5:39 pm ET

This is why men can not run for the office. They are more corruptive than women in politics.

Dan   March 10th, 2008 5:41 pm ET

You know this is a personal matter, the oldest practice in the world and it makes you wonder how many men have done it , it's really a none story, as long as he does his work and doesn't use public funds who cares?

Nick, Rochester, NY   March 10th, 2008 5:41 pm ET

Guess why Spitzer did not resign yet! if Paterson comes in he will throw the uncommitted NY superdelegates Obama's way. That's why the powers to be are hanging on to Elliot John#9 Spitzer for now.

Andrew   March 10th, 2008 5:41 pm ET

People are saying this guy should resign. If every politician who visited a prostitute was forced to resign, the only politicians we'd have left would be….females. If the allegations that taxpayers funds were used clearly this is a more serious issues. If this guy is forced to resign, you can bet there will be MANY names named of other politicians - Republicans and Democrats alike. Party conventions, esp. Republican, are notorious for being booms for prostitutes in the cities where these conventions are held. This stuff is old news.

It's amazing how serious people are about resignations with behavior like this: soliciting prostitutes, adultery, "lewd" behavior in the bathroom. Meanwhile, you have people like Bush and Cheney who are basically war criminals, and people with clearly anti-gay and racist votes who seem to be unscathed. Is this shallow or what?!!

Matt NC   March 10th, 2008 5:42 pm ET

If that is a subtle attack against Senator Hillary Clinton, then it was a waste of your time. Sen. Clinton has far more experience than you haters are given her credit for. She will be our next President of the United States of America with or without the support of those non-believers.

Casey, Atlanta   March 10th, 2008 5:42 pm ET

She can definetly empathize with the govenor's wife, unfortunately.

Concerned Citizen, IN   March 10th, 2008 5:43 pm ET

I suspect she should reject and denounce his public support for her campaign at this point. Wonder if he was going to find himself as the AG nominee under her presidency.

George - Dallas Texas   March 10th, 2008 5:43 pm ET

I wonder if Hillary will reject/denounce his endorsement of her!!!

Too Funny!!!!

John   March 10th, 2008 5:43 pm ET

Hillary is right, she has committed far more crimes and hasn't resigned. Good he has her in his corner. The Democrats are showing their tru colors in increasing regularity.

Barb   March 10th, 2008 5:43 pm ET

Had Spitzer officially endorsed Clinton for presendential nominee? If you could cover that in reports it would be helpful.

Ted Carson   March 10th, 2008 5:44 pm ET

Her best wishes!!!!!

Is morally bankrupt. Well maybe after all these years with Bill.

Dan, NJ   March 10th, 2008 5:44 pm ET

She had to say something because he is a supporter and the governor of her "home" state but, as an Obama supporter, no one should vote against Hillary for this. There are plenty of other reasons for that.

RD   March 10th, 2008 5:45 pm ET

C'mon!!! This one's way too easy.

Michael   March 10th, 2008 5:45 pm ET

Well so what's the big deal! Did he spend state money? If not, forget it as long as he was decent to all parties involved.

Franky   March 10th, 2008 5:46 pm ET

Well, what else can Hillary say. We have to wait and see what else happens…

Marc   March 10th, 2008 5:46 pm ET

WELL…WELL….WELL…. Since Gov. Spitzer endorsed Hillary will she now DENOUNCE and REJECT him for betraying his wife and being involved in a prostitution ring?

Clinton is a fraud   March 10th, 2008 5:46 pm ET

CNN is really baised against Obama. If Spitzer were an Obama supporter, we would have seen the headlines read "Obama Backer Linked To Prostitution"
Now, we demand that we see the headline "Clinton's Endorser and Financier Sleeps With Prostitute".

Polly   March 10th, 2008 5:47 pm ET

Rohit , yes you are right on it……………she and Clinton.

Chuck in Oregon   March 10th, 2008 5:48 pm ET

This is for Rohit. That is a cold comment. This is something that Spitzer and his family need to work out. I wish them the best. Adultry is a very ugly thing and something that is far from easy to over look. This is a complete violation of trust and a slap in the face for the person on the receiving end. I feel sorry for the children as I know they are going through a lot of emotional turmoil at this moment. MY heart goes out to Mrs Spitzer and her children. As for Him, he made his bed and he will have to sleep in it as well as live with the consequesnses of his actions. Should he resign, in my mind yes. But that is not for me to decide.

Carlos   March 10th, 2008 5:49 pm ET

"let's wait and see what comes out of the next few days. Right now I don't have any comment. I think it's appropriate to wish his family well and see how things develop."

Translation: Lets wait and see how I can spin this to my benefit.

Hillary should denounce and reject his actions.

Kirk   March 10th, 2008 5:49 pm ET

I wish him well too. I wish he would find some integrity somewhere and act on it! Of course, for most politicians the pursuit of power comes in far ahead of intergrity. By the way, I found it very interesting that CNN did not list his party affiliation until the next to last sentence. You can't tell me that would not be the first or second line if it was a Republican such as Larry Craig.

Thomas   March 10th, 2008 5:49 pm ET

HRC should be well suited to talk to Gov Spitzer's wife…she has 35 years of experience dealing with Bill's affairs.

Alice   March 10th, 2008 5:49 pm ET

Hillary, your only thought is "OMG, is Bubba's name on that list?"

Former Clinton Supporter   March 10th, 2008 5:49 pm ET

I think he did a lot of great things for NY and for consumers during his time as attorney general.

That said…. do we want another 4 years of scandals and deceit in NY or in the White House?? People that say one thing and do another?

The Clintons have more "experience" with that than anyone.

Mike in Houston   March 10th, 2008 5:50 pm ET

Seems like Hillary has a great deal in common with Mrs. Spitzer.

Steve herrick   March 10th, 2008 5:51 pm ET

Let me guess was he not a supporter of Billery take off another super delegate

jfs Memhis, Tn   March 10th, 2008 5:51 pm ET

How thoughtful of you Sen. Clinton. Does this mean one more lost superdelegate?? He has alot of the same ethics as you ..and ..he's ready from day because of his experience. Maybe this would be a VP that would be alittle more akin to you and Bill's overall PLAN FOR CHANGE for Washington DC???

Inday   March 10th, 2008 5:51 pm ET

Pat M Canada   March 10th, 2008 5:52 pm ET

MEOW to the above commenter.

I am with Hillary. It is way too early to be asking the Govenor to resign.
Lets first wait until we know for absolutely sure he is guilty of a crime.

It seems to me this is a leap without any direction at the present time.

joseph   March 10th, 2008 5:52 pm ET

He has to resign or be impeached just like Bill clinton.Hillary has to be investigated well also cos she's a senator from new york maybe she has some ties with him.

Bill   March 10th, 2008 5:52 pm ET

She needs her superdelegate too badly to criticize him before she knows what the popular opinion is. Were we not prepped before this question came up?

Jorge   March 10th, 2008 5:52 pm ET

Or maybe he can run with the HOPE slogan and say that everithing is going to be ok, you won't need any experienced with that one.

Jay in Kansas   March 10th, 2008 5:53 pm ET

Rohit that comment is just Sexist!

Hillary Diane Clinton was the first First Lady to actually have an OFFICE in the West Wing. She was First Lady but also was a INTEGRAL part of the Clinton administration. She was in Briefings, Meetings and consulted with the Bill from back when she was First Lady of Arkansas.

DO SOME RESEARCH!

Clinton '08. REAL experience. REAL change.

You need help!

Corey, Maryland   March 10th, 2008 5:54 pm ET

Susan   March 10th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

I would have thought that Hillary would at least make some comment about being disappointed in his lack of moral judgment for what he has done to his wife, family, and to his marriage. But then again, look at Hillary & Bill's marriage. Another reason why I approve of Obama. I truly believe he & his wife have a good marriage and actually love each other. I can't say the same for Hillary & Bill's. It seems to be a business and political arrangement. It would be refreshing to see a happily married couple in the White House. I'm getting tired of hearing about all these se scandals with politicians. If they have so much free time on their hands, maybe they could get around to actually doing their job and doing something for this country.

blake andrew   March 10th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

i agreed with rohit the clinton's and the spitzer do have some similarities such as cheating.

Where are the men and women of character?

Neal   March 10th, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Wait! I'm confused, Hillary endorsed Spitzer. Then Spitzer endorsed Hillary. All of this given Mr. Clinton's track record with women! Why is it with the average Joe they end up in divorce court, loose all of their belongings along with 60% plus of their income and not to mention child support. Don't get me wrong. In no way am I condoning not being faithful to your spouse. Just pointing out AGAIN that people of wealth and power treat things differently than the rest of the normal world! As well as how they get treated differently by the mistakes they make by our Courts and their peers. Didn't we build this country on the backs blue collar people. And God forbid the blue collar guy has an issue. He calls and gets a service center in India and talks to Tracy Smith. By the way Tracy Smith can't even pronounce her own name!

Kerry   March 10th, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Rick in Florida   March 10th, 2008 5:59 pm ET

How can Hillary suggest Spitzer resign (which he should) when she
looked the other way during decades of Bill's infidelities? Of course she knows how Mrs Spitzer feels!!

Decided   March 10th, 2008 6:00 pm ET

You guys should take a second before picking Hillary apart on this… what does she have to do with this man's behavior. Seriously, people will do anything to take her down.

Andrew   March 10th, 2008 6:00 pm ET

Mrs. Spitzer should take over his office. After all, according to Billary, experience as first lady is good enough to fill the office. I am sure Hillary and Bill had some ties to this ring.

Armando   March 10th, 2008 6:00 pm ET

Hilary seeks support from Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaralgosa then it turns out he's cheating on his wife.

Hilary seeks support from the New York Governor now it turns out he's cheating on his wife.

Hilary just has some weird luck.

I'm voting for Obama, sorry HRC.

Black Republican in New York   March 10th, 2008 6:06 pm ET

It wouldn't have hurt this much if Spitzer wasn't such a high-rolling moral crusader against other men doing wrong. True, his sin was not of the business corruption type that he raile against, but since each man has some sort of weakness - known or unknown - it makes sense to conduct yourself wisely if you know in your heart that you are no paradigm of virtue or pristine.

He was caught ontape making an appointment, but not in the act. Does this mean prosecution? Or does he just have to step down (like Alan Hevesi; the guy who won NY State Controller race but was convicted of a crime and had to step down to in exchange for avoiding jail time)?

Time to take off the blinders, sheep. CNN just posts this non-story in hopes of denigrating Clinton when all she said was "no comment".

Julia, Hayden, Idaho   March 10th, 2008 6:11 pm ET

Hey! Is Spitzer from Wallace, Idaho? If not he should move there since prostitution has been acceptable there(and still is) for over 100 years. But some of the cops got busted about 10 years ago, I think they were corrupt.

Larry from LA   March 10th, 2008 6:13 pm ET

Here is my comment. The are ready to hang Governor Spitzer for getting caught for his involvement with a prostitute. Wow big deal. But it is okay for Bill Clinton to have all types of affairs that have been made public and the people what him and Hillary back in the White House. I must be missing something here.

Trev   March 10th, 2008 6:14 pm ET

Wow, what a bunch of Obama scavengers. Then… To compareSpitzer to Farakan. Spitzer did a terrible thing that is between him and his family. Farakan hates people who are not like him. I hope Obama raises the same point, because it is not a very good one.

Hillary 08

@americans   March 10th, 2008 6:14 pm ET

I'm not surprised that Governor Eliot Spitzer supports the Billary Clinton's…they are all a lowly character team of cheating spouses and women whose "experience" in being president can only be gained in surviving politically from a cheating spouse!

Hillary brags about 35 years of experience = experience from a cheating spouse like Governor Eliot Spitzer!

"Will Senator Clinton REJECT and DENOUNCE Governor Sptizer's endorsement?

Walk to talk Sentor Clinton!"

There is a big difference between Louis Farrakan who openly states his positions, and the story of Spitzer as it is currently known.

When the 'facts' are out on the table, then perhaps there will be another action that Hillary Clinton should make. However, with the details not known, her actions were appropriate.

WhosehadEnough   March 10th, 2008 6:22 pm ET

The corporate media has become overly sensationalistic. Instead of doing their job, questioning the Bush administration's facts used in the runup of the war in Iraq, they now have become sharks to get a story "first" whether it has to do with Britney Spears going to the hospital or Eliot Spitzer. This is a personal matter between the Spitzer family.

So, if Spitzer is to be let off the hook for this transgression, I take it that the governor will promptly expunge the records of all the people he had rounded up in high profile prostitution stings that he supervised during his public career? I mean, if he doesn't free those men, wouldn't that make him quite the hypocrite? Or do we apply the Clinton "laws don't apply to the powerful" standard?

cthec   March 10th, 2008 6:26 pm ET

Its not Hillary's fault. Stop with the non-sense vitriol.

David   March 10th, 2008 6:28 pm ET

Indiscretions! Is there any journalistic investigatiing occuring relative to the sex and drug claims leveled against Obama by Sinclair of Illinois? In all fairness, shouldn't a credible news source either confirm or dispel such stories particularly when a related lawsuit has been filed? The media jumped all over rumors of McCain's possible relationship with a lobbyist.

Rohit   March 10th, 2008 6:30 pm ET

Hey People, I am not being insensitive to his wife. I am being insensitive to Clinton. I think Chris Matthews got it right…her career is based on her husband's scandals. Back then, we had sympathies for her. I liked her 4 years ago when she was working for Kerry. Even at the beginning of the campaign she was acceptable to me. I felt bad for her after Iowa but boy look how that turned out. Undermining her party for her own benefit. She will do anything to get elected.

Somebody called me sexist…well, I think Hillary is more sexist than I am. What is up with all the crying and mood swings? Reminding everyone that "I am your girl" and "I will be the first woman president." Hillary thinks women in this country are not smart enough to know that a woman candidate doesn't mean a good president.

D R   March 10th, 2008 6:30 pm ET

Was Bill involved with this? Or was his special treatment just for the oval office? Do you Hillary freaks remember when we almost impeached these clowns? Or are you under the same spell as the rest of the Clinton fanatics? CNN will not let the words impeachment and Clinton through! I'll keep trying!

Felly   March 10th, 2008 6:30 pm ET

If Hillary wants to be the Commander in Chief from day one, she should denounce and reject Spitzer or forever shut up her mouth. How about Hillary running for Governor of New York when she loses to Barack? This is why Spitzer is buying time to resign. Hillary is a bipolar and deluded.

voice   March 10th, 2008 6:31 pm ET

Why are there so many people including MSNBC Hate the Clintons so much. It's hard to understand why such bias against her. I see it on every single major news broadcast on TV and hear it on Talk Radio.

My support for her is growing stronger by the day.

I am just afraid that if Obama wins, it's very unlikely that he'll be able to keep his promises and the big loser will be the Demacratic Party in the near future.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!

For those that are not convinced of Clinton's corruption, there is a report on a Chinese web site "sina.com." Bill Clinton bought stocks from a Chinese government sponsored company and sold stocks shortly for more than $700,000. It happened last year, seven months before Hillary started her campaign. This Chinese company was found fraud later in New York and claimed bankruptcy. Stay tune for upcoming new scandles.

Gobama   March 10th, 2008 6:33 pm ET

"Clinton: My thoughts are with Spitzer"

There goes Hilary again seemingly excusing another man who publicly humiliated his wife with childish, reckless and DANGEROUS indiscretions.

Imagine, a so-called highly 'intelligent' individual exhibiting so much recklessness, and displaying so little common sense and self-control.

How do these guys engage in so much recklessness endangering of the family, considering that sexually transmitted diseases are so prevalent these days?

Makes one shake the head in disbelief.
And then Hilary's thoughts are with such a reckless individual?
Makes one wonder again about Hilary's judgment.

Public   March 10th, 2008 6:33 pm ET

Why is the media all of a sudden bring up Bill Clinton and his past? This has nothing to do with him or Hillary for that matter. Media people, leave them alone. Hillary is the only choice for president.

Charlotte   March 10th, 2008 6:34 pm ET

I feel for his family. People who do things like this, don't think of the impact on their familys.

maya   March 10th, 2008 6:34 pm ET

Unbelievable- I just knew that this would somehow be tied to Hillary- how predictable. How about the fact that there seems to be more of these kind of scandals among MEN and Spitzer was a young promising politician who promised change and ethics reform and was self righteous and no one could have guessed it from this upstanding man and….hmmmm….you never can tell….Good thing we know just about everything with Hillary!

Annamica, OH   March 10th, 2008 6:34 pm ET

How dare any of you make innuendos regarding Hillary in this. The woman has been through a lot, and it's unfair of you. This is about the Governor of NY, not Sen. Clinton and her husband's indiscretions. It's not her fault her husband cheated, nor has she used it for political gain.

Carrie Pa   March 10th, 2008 6:35 pm ET

The scary thing is that Spitzer is a superdelegate.

B. Smart   March 10th, 2008 6:35 pm ET

. . .Now maybe Hillary will go and steal, oops I mean run for govenor of
New York.

mary   March 10th, 2008 6:36 pm ET

I can't believe the amount of hatred that so many people have against each other, is this what the world has come to? No, I am not an overly religious person but the hatred that some people write about is beyond me. I wonder how many of you could take the ridicule that you, yourself, put on others? This doesn't pretain to just this article but to all the articles. I like reading the comments from the majority but the others turn my stomach whether its about Hillary, Bill, Obama, McCain, Bush, etc. I am tired of the who said or didn't say about the Iraq war, at the time I think the majority of Americans were for the Iraq war and now that we know we shouldn't have gone we are all about blaming someone else. Whenever anything goes bad all of us have a tenacy to put the blame on someone else. Let's face reality……. I think most of the senators that are on both sides (Hillary and Obama) were for the Iraq war.

Roger   March 10th, 2008 6:36 pm ET

"Where are the men and women of character?"

You mean the people with the support of the religious right who's priests are molesting young boys? Beats me.

dem08   March 10th, 2008 6:36 pm ET

I"m sure we are all feeling sorry for the sake of his wife and family. We should remember the situation with Hillary and how we all felt sorry for her. These spouses should not be held responsible for the bad personal judgment that their husbands have made in the past. These are two good, honest, decent, women like millions others that have to deal with such a broken heart and humiliation. I hope and pray that they don't treat her like Hillary is being treated in such a disrespectful way. Hillary has come out strong in her personal situation and as we all know has decided to forgive her husband. I hope that whatever Gov. Spitzer's wife decide to do with her marriage, that her family, friends, public, and the media respect her decision. This is a very personal situation and it should remain that way. I think it was also a personal situation for Hillary, but unfortunately the media has always tried to be so cruel, mean, to her up to this date.

Willis   March 10th, 2008 6:36 pm ET

Hillary, has no comments because she is wondering WHERE IS BILL? I CAN'T TAKE ANOTHER SEX SCANDAL!

_______________

WHAT IS HILLARY'S INVOLVEMENT? DID SHE TAKE CAMPAIGN MONEY?

SHOULD SHE RENOUNCE AND RETURN ANY MONIES RECEIVED?

Elle in Manhattan   March 10th, 2008 6:37 pm ET

To: Nick in Rochester, NY - Patterson has endorsed Cinton. In his words, "How can I not support her, with all she's done for NY and the citizens I represent?" Now there's a man with his priorities in the right place.

To George in Dallas, TX - You mean Hillary should reject Spitzer's endorsement the same way Obama has rejected John Kerry's endorsement because if his "yes" war vote?

Deb IL   March 10th, 2008 6:38 pm ET

For those of you saying scandal is usually a Republican trait, and trying to link it with the Clinton's, I have just one word for you…..
Kennedy! Seems like Teddy Kennedy has a little brush with a few scandals in his pre-party elder/Obama endorsing days. How soon we forget, quit casting stones. This man obviously messed up, give his wife and family a break.

Ron Larson   March 10th, 2008 6:39 pm ET

Breaking NEWS…this just in…

Ad Ryan   March 10th, 2008 6:39 pm ET

It is all about family. So seems to be the recent presidential situation.
After the great experience with an ex-president's son, we clearly need another family business, like an ex-presidents wife. Hope at last we'll have Hillary's version of "Don't cry for me Argentina"

Dave   March 10th, 2008 6:40 pm ET

Barb, OF COURSE he has endorsed Hillary Clinton, where do you think he got his cues from? None other than Bill himself.

Slap Stick, FLORIDA   March 10th, 2008 6:41 pm ET

Have anyone except Hilliary Supporters noticed how sentimental she is when it comes to the Republicans (McCain and now Spitzer) but hammers Obama in one sec but then agrees to him being VP on her ticket. Hmmm MENOPAUSE MENOPAUSE. I have a mother who went through that and trust me we do not want her in the WHITE HOUSE under these conditions. LOL. MAD WOMAN ON THE LOOSE!! The New York Times will Read

dream team   March 10th, 2008 6:41 pm ET

What a dream-team!
So much experience they share!

Elle in Manhattan   March 10th, 2008 6:41 pm ET

To: Realistic - Remember Obama's 17-year friendship and land purchase deal with Rezco who's now facing federal corruption charges of all sorts? What kind of company does HE keep?

Dave W   March 10th, 2008 6:42 pm ET

Maybe Hillary could run for Lieutenant Governor with Spitzer. She could gain some valuable experience while Spitzer revitalizes his campaign to clean up all the immorality and corruption in high places.

Tamara   March 10th, 2008 6:42 pm ET

Maybe Obama's good friend and financial supporter Tony Rezko the indicted Chicago slum lord could replace Spitzer !

Patrick   March 10th, 2008 6:42 pm ET

Clinton is yet to get her share from Spitzer.

Rebecca , Canada   March 10th, 2008 6:43 pm ET

America 's salacious appetite for people's private lives.

man I have never seen so many hateful people against Clinton….they will really make sure all the Clinton suppoters vote for McCain and not Obama and if that may be a good thing

Paul   March 10th, 2008 6:45 pm ET

The real question what number is Bill in this investigation. My guess is #1.

Mary   March 10th, 2008 6:46 pm ET

See the kind of people Mrs. Clinton hangs out with.Maybe she could also make him vice president so that she can retaliate on Bill.
Afterall clinton can do everything to get elected

Fish   March 10th, 2008 6:46 pm ET

No comment in this case was totally appropriate. Would anyone want to comment on a co-worker's or a neighbor's marital woes publicly? To do so, would be rude and disgraceful to Spitzer's wife, children and family. If he did something wrong….go after him. Leave his wife and any other wife with a similar past experience out of it.

hillarious!   March 10th, 2008 6:47 pm ET

Ahh, this is GREAT!!!

Hillary offering sympathy to another politicians wife for being cheated on. LOL!!

Tell her Hill, "stay with him, who knows, you may need him to campaign for you one day!!!!!!!!!"

I just LOVE politics :)

Teresa   March 10th, 2008 6:48 pm ET

Like Hillary has said Tested… Proven… and been there and that is a very hard thing to overcome.. She is strong, and wise.. Go Hillary show them what your'e made of.. Trust experience and strength

glacierdawg   March 10th, 2008 6:49 pm ET

who cares if gov spitzer can't keep it in his pants when bush vetos a touture bill. everbody should be outraged by bush's actions, but no, what we get in the news is another polition sleeping around… and you wonder why the rest of the planet is pissed off at us…

OBAMA 08   March 10th, 2008 6:49 pm ET

How touching. The stand by your man thing. Then stand by the woman who stands by Her man. If Spitzer broke the law, as it appears he did, we need to remove him from office, disbar and put his rear end with rest of him behind bars. His arrogance; he is going to report back to us. We got the report already and it didn't come from him. His next report should be that he resigns and in hours rather than days. We should have done that to Bill. Politicians should get the same treatment the rest of us do.

Scandalous = Clintons   March 10th, 2008 6:49 pm ET

Rohit, you are so right on!
Cheers to you :-)

Ernie   March 10th, 2008 6:50 pm ET

"Had Spitzer officially endorsed Clinton for presendential nominee? If you could cover that in reports it would be helpful."

Are you kidding? Why should Political Ticker report anything that would reflect unkindly on Clinton? Of course, Spitzer has endorsed Clinton, and so has Andrew Cuomo, the Attorney General.

HillaBaby   March 10th, 2008 6:51 pm ET

Yeah, HillaBaby feels for Spitzer and his family. It's the same way she felt when Bill cheated on her the 1st of 100s of times. Now she's just numb and doesn't feel anything. That is a qualification for President by the way.

Rich in Seattle   March 10th, 2008 6:52 pm ET

I find it hard to believe for a man who have fought and dedicated his life and time in fighting these kinds of acts , fall vitim to the sme thing…wow

If h was single well, we can understand his needs, but come on guy, a wife and kids…Its a hard thing to ponder, because its easy to say stuff when not standing in someone's else shoes.
I think the best thing he can do is step down and move on.Save the people of New York the shame and amends to your family Govenor.

Sally   March 10th, 2008 6:52 pm ET

I don't understand why every woman in America does'nt stand behind Hillary Clinton for President.
From the beginning of time we women have fought for equal rights, now that we have what I consider to be the biggest opportunity since the beginning to voice our rights loudly, strongly and with pride, it seems that most women are falling for hype from famous people about Barock. Ladies get behind Hillary and give volume to our voices.

Jackie   March 10th, 2008 6:52 pm ET

we are so THROUGH with you and your type HIllary Clinton!!!! OBAMA is am much better commander in chief FROM DAY ONE!!! And again - how are you going to run a country and you can't even keep up with your husband's overly active sex life???
Obama 2008 - a president we can respect and trust

James RR, PA, Independent   March 10th, 2008 6:53 pm ET

Get on with real issues! Why is CNN even bother to start a blog on Gov. Spitzer? There are alot of important issues out there that needed attention. Why did CNN drop the "Monster" and "Rezko" issues about involving Obama? Is CNN showing bias again or what? CNN has been influenced by Obama - You know tell the American people only what they want to hear!

from Boston   March 10th, 2008 6:53 pm ET

Marc - you are absolutely right. CNN didn't like the Obamabots complaining because in fact they are whiners. This is a non-story on the national level. There are plenty of people, democrats and republicans who have done something they are not proud of.

Becky in In.   March 10th, 2008 6:54 pm ET

Why don't the blowhards leave this Family alone, let them work things out . Some of you probably kick your dog when it's down.

OH! BY THE WAY LEAVE HILLARY OUT OF IT AS FAR AS I KNOW SHE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!

To CaliMale4Bill   March 10th, 2008 6:56 pm ET

Too bad Obama has no closet issues, just politcal rhetoric and speculation spread by Clinton and her supporters. If there was anything concrete on Obama the Clintons would have hammered it home months ago. They can't find anything so they try to make stuff up hoping people like you will spread the rumors for them. Do your research before you mouth off!

Patricia A   March 10th, 2008 6:56 pm ET

WHAT? NO DENOUNCE? NO REJECT?

Is she planning to support Silda Spitzer in a future political career based on her experience as first lady?

Monique   March 10th, 2008 6:56 pm ET

This shouldn't be turned into a witch hunt - come on, a man did something very wrong and has hurt his family very bad. I can not even begin to imagine what that family is going through - and I can't even imagine what Hillary & Chelsea went through back in the 90's. Oh yes, or what any other family has gone through when they had a spouse cheat on them! Give everyone a break people and stop pretending you are the virgins of all virgins and never committed a sin. Let this family get through this their way and STOP RETRASHING OLD TRASH!

This is why men can not run for the office. They are more corruptive than women in politics.

Tell that to Imelda Marcos, or Winnie Mandela. For that matter, tell that to Hillary Clinton.

Women and men are just as easily corruptible. The only reason we see more corrupt men is that there are more men in politics. Your statement has no basis in fact.

Justin from West Haven, CT   March 10th, 2008 7:23 pm ET

Ilse   March 10th, 2008 7:29 pm ET

Good grief. I can't believe these Hillay haters. What is wrong with you. And the sky will open and celestrial quires will sing and all is right with the world. Well , at least if you believe in what obama preaches.

She should distance herself from the Governor who is a Superdelegate. This stresses even more how superdelegates should not try to decide things in place of the voters in the USA.

Reminds me of the man who lied to the American people when he said, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky." Check out that video on youtube.

Jose   March 10th, 2008 7:30 pm ET

It would be important that CNN investigates how many pimps are supporting Obama.

MJG Colorado   March 10th, 2008 7:50 pm ET

@ Jay in Kansas

You better do more research yourself.

Hillary Clinton's middle name is not "Diane".

You support a candidate, whose name you do not even know.

This is really worrisome and explains why a majority of the less -educated lean more toward Clinton.

Carla J   March 10th, 2008 7:53 pm ET

Based on the level of the allegations, my guess is that Hillary will only denounce, but not reject his support (since there is a supposed difference).

James   March 10th, 2008 7:54 pm ET

Yeah, your thoughts are really for Spitzer. In less than an hour, Hillary Clinton's Campaign removed all references to Spitzer and his endorsement of her from her website. The guy has not even resigned and/or been indicted and she throws him under the bus so quickly.

Tom Swift   March 10th, 2008 7:54 pm ET

Oh course Hillary's thoughts are with her old pal Spitzer! He is one of her endorsers and is a "Super Delegate" pledged to her. She owns him.

Just a thought here… since the Spitzers & Clintons are so chummy… what are the chances that Bill has been getting a little on the side courtesy of his buddy Eliot?

MJG Colorado   March 10th, 2008 7:54 pm ET

HRC must overtly "denounce and reject" Elliot Spitzer's vote as a superdelegate :-)

Cecil Thompson   March 10th, 2008 7:57 pm ET

James Carville (Clinton lackey) said that Gov.Spitzer should not resign…unbelievable!!!! Spitzer is a Hilary Superdelegate…..Carville (Clinton) should be thinking about the people of NY instead of losing one of their Superdelegates.

carliss   March 10th, 2008 7:59 pm ET

it doesnt surprise me that hillary doesnt denounce spitzer she didnt really denounce the crazy hispanic women either and remember the peter paul case she took his money and then said she didnt and then came back and asked for more typical of a clinton selfish and disloyal

Slick Willy   March 10th, 2008 8:10 pm ET

Hillary should DENOUNCE and REJECT this guys support and his superdelegate vote (especially since it will be stripped from him once he resigns).

Jeff - Michigan   March 10th, 2008 8:11 pm ET
