Girl in Clinton ad supports Obama

CNN

Watch Casey Knowles on American Morning Monday.

(CNN) - Casey Knowles has graced the airwaves this month as the unwitting star of a headline-grabbing campaign ad for Hillary Clinton. But the 17-year-old is hoping to grace the small screen this campaign year for another presidential hopefully: Clinton’s Democratic rival, Barack Obama.

Stock footage of an 8-year-old Knowles sleeping – shot when she worked as an extra in TV commercials - was used in Clinton’s “red phone” ad, which asked “Who do you want answering the phone at 3 a.m.?” in the case of a foreign policy crisis.

But the high-school senior – who will be eligible to vote in the general election – is actually a passionate supporter of Barack Obama’s, and has been volunteering for the Illinois senator’s campaign.

“I think it would be wonderful if Barack Obama and I could get together and do a counter-ad,” she told CNN Saturday.

Appearing on CNN's American Morning Monday, Knowles said she was shocked to discover she was in the commercial, and said it made her feel disloyal to Obama.

"It makes me feel a little disloyal and kind of," she said. "It hurts that footage of me would contribute to a candidate that I'm not necessarily supporting. Hopefully Mr. Obama would forgive me. "

Knowles, who lives in Washington State, also said she plans on helping Obama in Oregon ahead of that state's primary in May.

"They want to get me down there and hopefully get me to help support and get campaigning going on down there," she said.

In Wyoming on Friday, Obama told voters at a campaign event that people shouldn’t worry about what he’d do if an emergency 3 a.m. call came into the White House when he was president.

“What do people think I’m going to do? I’m going to answer the phone,” he said.

Let's not start the week off on a bad foot, people. Tearing down a 17 (nearly 18) year old girl isn't going to help Hillary win. Let it go and move on.

This exact ad is a copy used by other canidates in other elections. Clinton has to use archived ads, that's just great.

Also, isn't it funny that the Ohio Govenor who was a staunch Clinton supporter and helped her win won his position by harping on his canidate about releasing his tax returns.

    What come around goes around.

Don't make "Greg in Pennsylvania" a scapegoat- he's simply doing what millions of Republicans and Hillary Clinton supporters are doing- acting like bratty little 12-year olds...

Hillary Clinton, herself, gave a shamelessly vague response when asked if she thought Obama was a Muslim.

Grow up, y'all- I think you're only helping Obama because you'all sound desperate and dumb.

I find it very interesting that the Clintons are touting Obama for VP, while at the same time saying he's unfit to be President on Day 1 (lack of experience). I guess they'll spin the message to suggest he won't be ready until Day 2.

The media is ridiculously. As soon as Hillary cried foul they stepped into line just as quick as they did when Bush told us we needed to invade Iraq.

In the end though it's not the media that is responsible and to blame, it's the large majority of voters that remain ignorant because it's easier & more 'comfortable' for them.

It seems like the Obama supporters is always helping Hillary.

Remember, the Lady in New Hampshire who asked Hillary a question in a diner that caused Hillary to choke up was a Obama supporter. Her question help Hillary win New Hampshire.

It's the OBama supporters who is allowing Hillary to make several comebacks. This is so funny.

By the way, the 3 am SNL skit makes Obama look so foolish. SNL skit is so funny.

what kind of news service are you? Your bias are terrible! Who cares about this? Why aren't you reporting on something of far greater interest to the US taxpayer (I'm not one, thank God) like, oh I don,t know, the ongoing Rizko trial and relation$hip between Mr. Obama and a Mr. Auchi through Mr. Rizko... Don't you think the republicans are going to skewer him on this if he gets the nomination? why aren't you reporting on this? you're not doing your job!

This is a ridiculous NON story. It's the separation of someone's profession and what someone really thinks. Are we NOT mature enough to deal with this? Why this girl felt the need to expose this is beyond my comprehension. No one, and I mean NO ONE cares what actors think about politicians. This is the media's way of twisting a non-story into a story. Grow up. The whole world IS NOT for Obama. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Hillary and Bill Clinton should be ashamed of themselves, here we have a two-time former president and a first lady ganging up and deploying dirty politics against a junior senator.

If Obama should loose the nomination to Hillary through dirty politics or DNC irregularities I strongly urge Obama's supporters to vote for McCain in the general election in order to vote Hillary out. That woman is too ambitious and power obsessed and will do anything to get her away and she must be stopped.

Wow! There are a lot of Obama haters on this post. How odd?
I'm sure if this young lady came out praising Clinton...enough couldn't be said about her support.

    Clintonites...get a grip. Let go of the hate..take a deep breathe...find a hobby!

Hillary should go work for Saturday Night Live. They need another clown to work for there show and they've been begging her to come over.

This ad is a copy that has been used in multiple other campaigns. What a joke!

If it wasn't for Hillary, this girl would still be unknown to the world. Now, thanks to Hillary she has had her 15 minutes of fame. Actually, CNN has givin her more than two hours worth of fame...Hmm. Just before the Mississippi primary...Ahh, clever CNN very clever. I see where your going with this.

Obama came from a corrupted Illinois state.

    AP:
Q: Did Obama know Rezko could be an ethical land mine for him?

A: He should have. When Obama was buying the house, there were plenty of news stories about a federal investigation of the governor and Rezko's role in the administration, including the fact that Rezko had been subpoenaed. Obama has acknowledged that "things had surfaced" by that time.

I don't think Obama has a good judgement.

Dani: this is a struggle for power between two generations. The older generation will lose this fight. They must lose this fight. All that "experience" has saddled a young generation with war and recession. How are we supposed to "pull ourselves up by our bootstraps" and live out the "American Dream" when we have been stripped of our boots altogether and seen the dream fade into the pockets of the wealthy?
