Girl in Clinton ad supports Obama

CNN

Watch Casey Knowles on American Morning Monday.

(CNN) - Casey Knowles has graced the airwaves this month as the unwitting star of a headline-grabbing campaign ad for Hillary Clinton. But the 17-year-old is hoping to grace the small screen this campaign year for another presidential hopefully: Clinton’s Democratic rival, Barack Obama.

Stock footage of an 8-year-old Knowles sleeping – shot when she worked as an extra in TV commercials - was used in Clinton’s “red phone” ad, which asked “Who do you want answering the phone at 3 a.m.?” in the case of a foreign policy crisis.

But the high-school senior – who will be eligible to vote in the general election – is actually a passionate supporter of Barack Obama’s, and has been volunteering for the Illinois senator’s campaign.

“I think it would be wonderful if Barack Obama and I could get together and do a counter-ad,” she told CNN Saturday.

Appearing on CNN's American Morning Monday, Knowles said she was shocked to discover she was in the commercial, and said it made her feel disloyal to Obama.

"It makes me feel a little disloyal and kind of," she said. "It hurts that footage of me would contribute to a candidate that I'm not necessarily supporting. Hopefully Mr. Obama would forgive me. "

Knowles, who lives in Washington State, also said she plans on helping Obama in Oregon ahead of that state's primary in May.

"They want to get me down there and hopefully get me to help support and get campaigning going on down there," she said.

In Wyoming on Friday, Obama told voters at a campaign event that people shouldn’t worry about what he’d do if an emergency 3 a.m. call came into the White House when he was president.

“What do people think I’m going to do? I’m going to answer the phone,” he said.

Greg-Pennsylvania, Obama was never a Muslim, was not even Muslim raised... and even if he was, so what? He has attended the same Christian Church for 20 years. Anyhow, this is America, a nation founded on "reedom of Religion". Please keep that in mind.

Watching the ad, the presumption is that Hillary might know the people in it, or perhaps in some capacity, be involved in choosing them. How cold a glimpse into the workings of Hillary's campaign, that Casey Knowles was just a nameless "off the shelf" piece of stock footage, a soul-less business purchase, to slime an opponent by preying on people's fears. In regard to drumming up support via fear, apparently Hillary and George Bush have something in common. In any event, Thank you Casey for focusing on the positive.

This young lady's voice is important as is all of ours. Don't discount her for her age, by the way, she will be eligible to vote for the GE. She is showing much more maturity then some of the posters today, who by the way do not have facts, just their prejudice and ignorance.

What a shock? A teenager supports Obama. A teenager who has no sense of reality or what it takes to get work done in DC. This only helps Clinton, the ad was really effective and this news guarantees that the ad will be played over and over again on news channels for the next week. Way to help your candidate!

Give him a pleated skirt and some pom-poms......so far his rhetoric and resume qualifies him to be the country's head cheerleader.

    To answer your question.

The Florida and Michigan delegates -and all their juicy Super delegates that Clinton doesnt get either – have already been subtracted to make the count 4049.

    winner needs 2025.

If they count either michigan or florida or both, the winning total will need to go up.

As an Obama supporter...I have to say, this really is a non-story.

However; I would like to pose a question for the Clinton supporters....since the TX and OH primaries, Billary has been making a lot of innuendos about both candidates being on the Democratic ticket...Hillary as President and Barack as Vice President....but isn't the GREATEST RESPONSIBILITY of the VP the ability to step in and be President in a moments notice. So, doesn't it seem as though she is contradicting herself when she says he isn't READY to be President????

Obama '08...even she knows, he is READY!!!

Anyone with ANY sense is voting for Obama. Is it just me or does anyone out there get disgusted when Hillary thinks she has made a point on her poorly attended campaigns and then she starts shaking her head and opening her eyes wide. She'd not just make a bad president but also a lousy actor.

[Please, will someone answer this question for me?
If the delegate votes from Florida and Michigan do not count acording to the Democrat national commitee, shouldn't the total number of delegate votes necessary to nominate be the amount originally set minus the non
existing votes of Florida and Michigan?]

What are you thinking. America Obama Version is minus Florida and Michigan?

Go Hillary! Obama, sit down son and learn a thing or two before you decide that having that "thing" between your legs qualifies you for leadership.

I was so upset with Senator Clinton tactics that at first I was thinking of not voting if the nomination is taken away from Senator Obama and given to Clinton. So many people loss their lives to give me the right to vote and I have never miss an opportunity to exercise that right. After calming down I said I would do just what you said. I will vote for Ralph Nader the same way I voted as an uncommitted voter in Michigan.

Oh boy, some of the comments from Clinton supports are so mean spirited, just like their candidate!

The results from Texas? It was a very close contest! And the fear-ad did not help Hillary who is acting more like a Republican-fear-monger than a forward thinking Democrat.

I saw the young woman in the ad, this morning on the Today Show, she is bright and articulate.

Its no wonder that Sen. Obama is ahead in MOST states won and most delegates. He is the candidate of CHANGE!

get a job, it was a picture of a child/ it did not give your name and who cares what you think. You got paid didn't you, or did your contract run out and you're ticked that you didn't get paid. People who jump on the tv shows just show what idiots they are and money grubbers. I guess anything for a minute of fame. Hope her high school friends are smarter than her.

This piece of fluff is just to show that the 'little girl' is a real person and not just a propaganda tool.
If this is her big break into showbiz after the stock footage sat for 10 years then more power to her, milk it.
Otherwise this tidbit is only worth 15 minutes of fame and time to move on to the next big political talking point.
