(CNN) - Clinton campaign manager Maggie Williams issued the following statement:
"We congratulate Senator Obama for his win in Mississippi and thank our supporters and volunteers there for their support, hard work, and long hours. Now we look forward to campaigning in Pennsylvania and around the country as this campaign continues."
So I guess Hillary was too busy to pick up the phone!!!!HAHAHA I'm Loving it! What a hypocrite!
obama has now won 30 contests to her 14. he also leads in delegates and popular vote.
isn't it time for clinton to bow out before she takes down the democratic party?
In response to Gerri Ferraro. She knows exactly what she's doing and they definitely released all this at this time to attract the white voters who hate a black man is leading this campaign.
Pennsylvania has a large white blue collar "southern" type mentality and may identify with now Ferraro playing the "victim"
HIllary is shrewd and brilliant and it may work. After all isn't this what Hitler did to the whites against the Jews. Hillary is very, very dangerous!
She's tapping into what's ugly and shameful in all of us instead of trying to bring out the good and help us take back our government for the people
The Clinton camp congratulating Obama? The end times are near...
As an African American WOMAN she does not speak 4 me!!!!!! Racism trumps sexism ………. I still make less than WHITE women… I need a Masters 2 UR Bachelors ….. If Hillary was a BLACK woman she would not be in her position!!!!!
CNN post my comment!!!!! DON'T be biased
It's all up to Pennsylvania now. Hopefully Obama can win there and finally put an end to this contest once and for all.
This might be the first time the Clinton campaign acknowledged an Obama win; can someone verify?
Concerning Ms. Ferrero's comments, You are not being attacked because you are an old white woman, you are being attacked because you are a stupid old white woman. (AKA: Hillary supporter)
Ron Paul is still the best possible choice.
Nice try Clinton campaign. No need to start congratulating now that your "McCain is better" tactic blew up in your face. Back out now while you still have your dignity. I'm sure the Bill in Client #1 and has the Emperor's VIP Club on speed dial. It's 3am, Hillary. Where is your husband?
Clinton couldn't speak on her own loss?
Affirmative Action for "Billary",.....I love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What she needs to do is concede and exit the race gracefully, if she had any concern for the democratic party that's what she would have done...Senator Obama is leading in popular votes, states won and pledge delegates; there's no way Hillary is gonna catch up to him so why prolong this? brused ego perhaps?
iT'S ABOUT TIME THEY CONGRATULATE HIM!
I'M DISTRESSED BY CNN TURNING HIS WIN INTO A RACE ISSUE. YES, WE HAVE A HORRID HISTORY OF RACISM IN THIS COUNTRY, AND OF COURSE VERY MUCH SO IN MISSISSIPPI, BUT TO SAY THIS ELECTION IS BECOMING MORE ABOUT RACE IGNORES THE FACT THAT OBAMA JUST WON WYOMING, A VERY WHITE STATE INDEED.
PLEASE STOP WITH THE RACE BAITING.
It is nice that Clinton's campaign manager thanks the Clinton supporters, but I am waiting to see if Clinton herself thanks them for their support and their votes. I have not heard that directly from Hillary in the past states that she has lost. In fact, in some cases she seemed to ignore the actual voters. If I were a Clinton voter in one of those states I would have felt very disrespected.
This election is going to tear the Democratic party apart. This has now clearly become an election based on race. Blacks in a large majority supporting Obama and Whites now more and more in a large majority are supporting Hillary. And I think will Penn. will continue this trend. Obama has played the race card like a fiddle and it's the democractic party that will suffer because of it. And it's hard to say thank you for that.
Why Maggie? Where's Hillary herself?
Why does Hillary refuse to ever congratulate Obama herself?
She still hasn't done it once.
She is never going to admit defeat.
Superdelegates: the sooner, the better.
End this thing now.
Obama '08!
How can CNN call a race, such as the Mississippi one when only 14% of the vote has been counted and one canidate is only a few percentage points behind the other? Doesn't this sway uncommitted voters and isn't it irresponsible news reporting?
Way to go Hillary. I am very hopeful that you do well in Mississippi. Your judgment is sound and you represent your constituents well.
New York appreciates your support , The Gulf States appreciate your support and Hard Working Families all across this nation appreciate your support. You are doing what so many others only talk about.
This IS about credentials. This IS about hope.
Uh...Shouldn't Hilary congratulate Obama personnaly.
Shut-up Michelle, Hilary is running for President not you!
Wow! Hillary FINALLY congratulates Barak on a win. He has given her plenty of opportunity to do so up to this point. She's just awful...
A famous person once said "A house divided against its self cannot stand".That would be a most fitting motto for Dem. to follow during this election cycle.
Why is the press making everything into white and black? Anyways what happens to all these young College voters in the Caucuses States come November? In Michigan we have to vote in our precinct that goes by our permanent address. I can't picture these college students giving up their permanent addresses just to vote for Obama. I think states that have caucuses paint an untrue picture of November voting.
Why didn't Clinton acknowledge it herself? Obama has made public congratulations himself to Hillary and has even called her to congratulate. I hope Hillary will be gracious when he is the nominee and supports Obama. We will need to stand together as democrats to win this Presidential election.
