Clinton goes 'green' in St. Patrick's Day parade

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (CNN) – There was no red or blue politics Saturday, only green as Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton marched in this city's annual St. Patrick's Day parade.

It was the first of two holiday parades for the New York senator. She travels to Scranton in eastern Pennsylvania to take part in that city's St. Patrick's Day festivities later in the day.

Pennsylvania is the next big battleground in the race for the White House. There are 158 delegates at stake when the state holds its primary on April 22.

Clinton marched about two miles on the parade route through downtown Pittsburgh. Thousands of people lined the streets, cheering and screaming, some holding green signs that said "Clinton Country" with others that said O'Bama. At times there were mini-sign wars, all in good Irish fun.

However, some boos could be heard as Clinton passed a multi-tiered parking garage, and one man held a handwritten sign that said "Hillary you are a SHAM and have the personality of a ROCK."

Clinton wore a green American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees scarf. Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato, who have all endorsed the senator, marched alongside her.

At the end of the parade Clinton addressed a crowd, saying, "May the luck of the Irish be with us all." An announcer called the Clintons "great friends of the Pittsburgh Irish."

Clinton has Pennsylvania to herself Saturday. Rival candidate Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois is campaigning in Indiana, which holds its primary two weeks after Pennsylvania's. And Sen. John McCain of Arizona, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, is on his way to Europe and the Middle East for a week long congressional trip. McCain campaigned in Pennsylvania on Friday.

Apparently, BO has conceded Penn to Hillary. He's keeping a low profile in Indiana given the bad news lately about his Pastor and Rezko.

Yep – that's the mark of a true leader. Walking in a parade while people all over get drunk on green beer.

Hey Hill – I have a better idea. Why not join the growing cast of luminaries on Sirius Radio's new Client 9 channel. I'm sure you could add your own unique perspectives, wallow in more sleaze, and maybe get more low-IQ Americans to vote for you.

Not surprising. Hillary is showing she is a camilian and can be whatever color she needs to be at the moment. I don't believe anything she says.

Rendell has his political machine cranked up doesn't he? Wonder what position he's been promised?

That Craig guy is a loon. Multiple people with first hand access to the North Ireland peace talks have come out on Hillary behalf. Hillary did play a major role in those peace talks.

Those Obama supporters who showed their support with signs. That is great. Those Obama supporters who felt the need to (boo) and create hateful signs. You're no better than Obama's Pastor of 20 years. There is no room in this political race for ignorant supporters on either side of the campaign.

I actually marched in the Pittsburgh St. Patty's parade two years back. It is a great experience and one that is really geared towards kids. The parade goers hand out candy to all the kids that came down to watch. I'm slightly annoyed that Mrs. Clinton chose to push herself into the parade this year and make it into something that it is not. The parade is not meant to be an election tool or a tool for partisan politics. It is meant as a means of celebrating the Irish heritage of the Three Rivers area.

Additionally, as a Pittsburgh resident, I'm surprised to actually see Governor Rendell. In all my time in Pittsburgh, the governor has been a no show. The city is in bankruptcy and the governor does nothing. It is sad to see that when the city is going into the toilet, Governor Rendell does little to nothing. When the governor needs votes for Mrs. Clinton, he all of a sudden shows up to the area. Just sad.

"Clinton country",- sounds like Pennsylvania is striving to become independant. ... In the meantime Hillary looks like she just won the elections. Hope the people of Pennsylvania can change their mind and believe in change.

This now a mere attempt to destroy OBAMA. OBAMA has consistently maintained that he does not share some views of Minister Wright and Hilary Clinton Campaign with the aid of the media wants the issue to remain in the public domain. People now see OBAMA as a victim and voters will rally around OBAMA. OBAMA is honest, transparent, and trustworthy; he has the character to be president and the Clinton Machine, the media, and the Right Wingers want to stop him. OBAMA will prevail since he is anointed by GOD.

The media continues to be timid in asking and demanding that Sen. Clinton release her tax returns, White House Records, List of Contributors to the Clinton Presidential Library, and her earmark requests since she became a senator.

The Clintons may be breaking the spirit of the constitution by the wife trying to bring the husband back or vice versa. The constitution does not allow anyone to serve more than two terms. This in spirit I believe will apply to man and wife as "the two shall be one". They must consult together about issues all the time.
    An explanation will be welcome.

It's a darn good thing Hillary is not running to be on American Idol. Who cares if she has the personality of a rock? This just show how stupid people are.

"I don't see how any democrat can win the nomination without winning:

    Texas and Ohio" says Hillary.

Well, both of these states have come and gone.

    Now,
"I don't see how any democrat can win the nomination without winning
    PA," says Hillary.

This is like the "battered-spouse syndrome: "I don't see how you can ever live without me," after each abusive incident!

If anyone has a normal brain or ability to analyze, he/she will firmly find that Hillary is the best for the next president of the United States. Look at Obama, how many bags he has, can you really count? His Mislum background, his Kenya roots, his middle name Hussein, his mother slepted with many Muslim men and he basically never saw or know his father. His minister has been a long time anti-Aemrica and he has grown up under his minister's anti-America spirit and mind, and his wife felt the first time to be proud of America, indicating she had never been proud of America all of her life. Each of these bags hurts, hurts himself and hurts his supporters.

Anything to win. I guess Sen. Clinton is hoping on the luck of the Irish for a Democratic nominee win. Well, I have some news for you Sen. Clinton, the luck of a four leaf clover couldn't give you enough delegates in the pot of gold, that your campaign will need, at the end of the rainbow for the nomination.
