Clinton goes 'green' in St. Patrick's Day parade

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (CNN) – There was no red or blue politics Saturday, only green as Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton marched in this city's annual St. Patrick's Day parade.

It was the first of two holiday parades for the New York senator. She travels to Scranton in eastern Pennsylvania to take part in that city's St. Patrick's Day festivities later in the day.

Pennsylvania is the next big battleground in the race for the White House. There are 158 delegates at stake when the state holds its primary on April 22.

Clinton marched about two miles on the parade route through downtown Pittsburgh. Thousands of people lined the streets, cheering and screaming, some holding green signs that said "Clinton Country" with others that said O'Bama. At times there were mini-sign wars, all in good Irish fun.

However, some boos could be heard as Clinton passed a multi-tiered parking garage, and one man held a handwritten sign that said "Hillary you are a SHAM and have the personality of a ROCK."

Clinton wore a green American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees scarf. Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato, who have all endorsed the senator, marched alongside her.

At the end of the parade Clinton addressed a crowd, saying, "May the luck of the Irish be with us all." An announcer called the Clintons "great friends of the Pittsburgh Irish."

Clinton has Pennsylvania to herself Saturday. Rival candidate Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois is campaigning in Indiana, which holds its primary two weeks after Pennsylvania's. And Sen. John McCain of Arizona, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, is on his way to Europe and the Middle East for a week long congressional trip. McCain campaigned in Pennsylvania on Friday.

Interesting that CNN would report the sign that said "Hillary you are a SHAM and have the personality of a ROCK." I guess no one every says anything unkind about Obama or..... CNN just never reports it.
either Obama supporters are much ruder than Clinton supporters, or CNN is kinder to Obama.

Clinton is doing what she worked for all her life. She is a down to earth person and participates with people of all religious, economic and ethnic backgrounds. I applaud her for her participation. Even in the Louisiana Black forum, she was there, sharing and participating with the black community(Unlike Obama, who chose not to participate). Believe me, it is hard to wake up every morning to share and give your time to all peoples of all walks of life. This is the commitment that Hillary has. Believe me, this is commitment. God will reward her. She will win the nomination and go on for the presidency.

Go Hillary! I hope the voters of Pennsylvania look at your record and vote you a landslide. Now that Obama is really coming under scrutiny, some of his backers should wake up. Really O, you cannot go to a church for twenty years and not know of the teachings and political beliefs of its pastor, who is your "like an uncle." So, Michelle? Are you proud to be an American now? When questions of race, natioanl pride, and national security arise, all Americans need to study and reflect. Go Hillary - she is not ashamed of the red-white-and blue!

It seems like Hillary will get the opportunity to shake every Pennsylvania Voter's hand between now and their primary day in April. Looks like she's planning on doing just that.

Will this woman stop at nothing ? I bet she was shocked when she heard the boos in her beloved Pennsylvania. It's to bad people there can't see through her lies and desperation. What a joke this woman is. Of course her best buddy Rendell was with her. Do the people there know how much he is behind some of her corruption ? Look up Mr. Paul, it will tell a lot.

While McCain is leaving to meet with leaders of France, Briton and Israel, Hillary goes green in Pitts.

It's just a totally different level of qualifications we are talking about between Hillary and McCain. I love Irish everything, but I would expect much more in our future president.

Parading in public requires a lot more secret service and local police to protect the former first lady. Senior Cpl. Victor Lozada-Tirado died of a motorcycle crash in Dallas, TX last February, while protecting Hillary. Is this parade necessary even if it weren't on taxpayers' money?

Hillary took credit for starting St. Patricks day. She visited Ireland more than once, so her claim does make sense.

It just shows that Obama supporters are as hateful as his Paster...

Voting for Obama shows how much you hate America, its a simple as that, his paster his wife hates "whites" and the country that gave them freedom.

I wish people would start booing BO for his hateful fans!
