The National Archives will release Hillary Clinton's schedules while first lady.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Over 11,000 pages of Hillary Clinton's schedule as first lady are set to be released to the public on Wednesday, the National Archives announced.

The documents are among those the Obama campaign has long said need to be made public in order to fully evaluate the New York senator's experience and tenure while First Lady.

In a statement Tuesday, the Archives said the documents are from the files of Patti Solis Doyle, the director of Clinton's scheduling while she was first lady, and later the manager of her presidential campaign. Doyle stepped down from managing the campaign earlier this year after a string of poor showings in primary contests.

“Arranged chronologically, these records document in detail the activities of the First Lady, including meetings, trips, speaking engagements and social activities for the eight years of the Clinton Administration,” the statement said.

The documents are among those that were the center of a legal battle between the Archives and Judicial Watch, a conservative public interest group that has long urged a speedier release of files from the Clinton White House years.

In a court motion earlier this month, the Archives promised to release the schedules by the end of the month, but said it will need "one to two years" to process remaining documents, including over 20,000 pages of call logs — an indication those documents won't be released by the November 4 presidential election.

According to the Archives statement, 4,746 of the schedules have redactions, information removed before being released, that largely relate to privacy concerns and include "social security numbers, telephone numbers, and home addresses."

The documents will be available for view on the Clinton Library's Web site.

The Obama bloggers who keep insisting that the Clintons release their tax returns are just hypocrits. Senator Obama has only released the last year of his tax returns. What about all those years he was receiving all those financial contributions from Rezco. Oh I forgot Obama is a saint.

Gillis   March 18th, 2008 4:35 pm ET

Yea. After Hillary's team have taken time to doctor everything. I already don't trust the truthity of the documnets.

"Redactions" another word for forgery.

you people are pathetic… they are releasing the papers… get over it… I'm Sure Obama didn't release home addresses, phone numbers or social security numbers… some people on this ticker are either truly ignorant or just bigots! and what is worse some claim to embrace Obama… hypocrates…

This country, in the sad state that is in today, does not deserve Sen Obama as your President. The majority of the country, according to these blogs are not ready, and you guys deserve what ever it is you get in the Presidential election.

Now they can start working on her tax records. No way in hell they will take the time to edit the jucy parts.

Get ready all haters as nothing The Clintons say or do will ever please you. The people who say they want "unity" are the exact same ones who have projected the most hate in this Democratic Party contest.

Clinton-Obama in 2008
Obama- in 2012 or beyond!

Despite all the hate out there…. If Obama wins and doesn't select Clinton as his running mate, he and the Democratic Party will come up the losers during this election cycle.

I have come to the observed conclusion that the average HIllary supporters and poster on here are:

-female feminist extremists who think they are another sex

-ignorant and border line racist bipolars

-Borderline Republican

-Far Right Republicans posing as Dems

-don'l like the truth and would rather be lied to

-was mistreated as a child and hold deep seated emotional issues

The BOTTOM LINE come Nov the Democratic party needs to be united and The GOP expelled from the White house if you've been here the last 8 years there is no question as to why either.

What’s intolerable for me is that Obama expects us to withhold judgment on Wright’s character because “a few sound bites” do not makeup a man’s character. Wright intentionally made his choice of words. He was even so proud of them that, according to the media, his church sells DVDs of the sermons currently under controversy.

I recall many public white figures resigning, going on unpaid suspension from their job, being fired, and generally being publicly crucified for saying racially inflammatory remarks.

This happens regardless of whether the remarks were intentionally bigoted, poorly worded to allow several interpretations, or are a far stretch to be considered racial at all. No regard is given to the character of these individuals based on their lifetime achievements. Our society casts them out completely without a second thought, and rightfully so.

Why now, in the rare public case of a black man making clearly intentional, heavily bigoted remarks, do we alter our definition of a bigot to exclude Wright based on the color of his skin? We owe him the respect of completely rejecting him from our society to signal that we don’t tolerate anyone like him. He owes every American an apology and should remove himself from public influence.

"What took her so long????
This should have been done a long time ago."

"What is she hiding? Why was information removed?"

What is it with people and their apparent inability to R-E-A-D… The National Archives controls the documents and when / how they can be released — it is up to them to release it, not the President / First Lady. Information was "redacted" (blacked out) for privacy reasons… phone numbers, addresses, social security numbers, etc.. Not a big deal.

As for her tax returns… yes, she should release them, but enough of the harping. 20 years' worth of Clinton tax returns are already available to the public; Obama released *one* year of his tax returns, for 2006. Let me try an Obama nutjob's approach to this when I ask, "What is he hiding by not releasing ALL of his tax returns?!????!???"

Chill out people…. Rabid pitbulls are more pleasant to be around than Obama supporters….

Come on people, get realistic! These are official government papers with each having to be scrutinized to protect other people's privacy… other government officials from the US and around the World included. Eight years worth of schedules would take considerable time to wade through. You can't just release paperwork to the public that has social security numbers, addresses, phone numbers etc on them. How would you like your information released in documents to the public. That's exactly what they said was removed from the documents. The Clinton's have several years of tax documents released already, their campaign person has already stated the others will be released around April 15th, which is when they usually release them.

Okay, all you ObamaBots, you are obviously not reading the ENTIRE article. It's not hillary that is releasing the documents, it's the National Archives.

It is the National Archives that are saying that it will take one to two years to process the remainder of the documents for proper release!
You are all so quick to judge, but you don't want to give proper procedure a chance to take place.

It's no wonder Obama generally looks squeeky clean (until recently). He's got a horde of mindless automotons whom most can't even name one single accomplishment of Obama, doing the dirty work for him.

there are certain things which cannot be publicized. If you would read the full article, you would – maybe – notice that social security numbers will not be disclosed ( do you want to know them?) , phone numbers, and others -these are none of public business. You must agree with this.
Also personal things, or national security issues cannot be disclosed. It is up to government to decide, not you.

People who bash the candidate they don't like and think it helps the candidate they do like have learned nothing from the divisiveness and negativity already weakening the Democrats' campaign.

People who accuse one candidate of playing the gender card won't win me over with a candidate accused of playing the race card, who says "it isn't about race" but, judging from many of the fearmongering comments on this blog (and his pastor's), it is, still, in 2008, about race after all.

In the same token, people who accuse one candidate of not having enough experience can't win me over without showing me the "35 years of" experience the other candidate claims (but only now is beginning to release to the public, and will not be fully disclosed before the election is over).

In spite of all the media snippets being thrown our way today, no one seems willing or able to discuss the real issues: Senator Obama STILL leads in pledged delegates and short of a blow out in the remaining primaries will continue to lead at the convention. Florida isn't going to have a re-vote, and it looks very unlikely that the original Florida votes will be permitted to stand. The real questions for today are: how much will the Michigan re-vote affect the total count, were the superdelegates watching today's news events, and how are they going to respond? The superdelegates are most likely going to be the "decider" of the Democrat nomination, but only in the sense of providing enough votes to reach the 2,025 needed. People worry about the superdelegates taking the vote away from the American people, but Pelosi, the convention chair, has already hinted this won't happen by telling the media it would be bad for the superdelegates to go against the vote of the people.

Pelosi's statement that Senators Clinton and Obama will not appear on the same ballot also appears to be not only a response to Clinton's "dream ticket" idea, but also a warning that dealmaking would not be permitted — the delegate count will most likely be how the superdelegates make their final decision.

This seems to suggest most of the superdelegates will end up voting for whoever comes to the convention with the most delegates, which at this point appears to be Senator Obama, but, again, admittedly could change, although it is unlikely this will occur.

But where's the blog thread on that?

What Experience   March 18th, 2008 4:08 pm ET

It will only be another 2 or 3 years to "process" the information. Don't you mean to filter that information?

He gives ANOTHER speech and what do his supporters say……."Now let's get over it and on to the issues." ???? Once again, if the race card works for him his supporters run with it. The speech touched a lot of heart. YES that is what he wants. I AM THE VICTIM HERE. I don't buy Obama's speeches cos they are just words. He lied just few days ago and today the truth, he must be sleeping on friday when he went all out infull force denying ever been in the church or ever heard of those preachings from his mentor. He set the standard so high for himself and now he wants Americans to pity him. What has he got to say about the way President Bill Clinton was treated when this race issue came up in South Carolina. Today he wants to discuss race fully. SEN OBAMA IS A HYPOCRITE.

I wonder...   March 18th, 2008 4:04 pm ET

The double standard is in play again. The Obama people have to conjure something out of thin air–oooh, she MUST be hiding something. Where are the details of his every moment in the last 12 years–like his meetings with Rezko and his so-called foreign policy experience.?How about just a voting record that doesn't include the word 'present' for every tough vote. Where are his tax returns? He doesn't even know how much Rezko contributed to his campaign–maybe he should pay more attention to his finances.

dana is correct Barack had nothing to do with what his preacher said yet the preacher is of great influence to him and to his church as he was also a spiritual advisor for his campaign. I do believe though church ought to be separate from state the words spoken in church do influence folks and their lives. The laundry is slowing being shown. Let see Obama experience records. Let's see everyone's taxes for that matter…that means us.

I am not voting for Obama – he is did not do what he has promised. He is "going" to give us CHANGE!!! After the pastor's speech what we got is just lip-service. He is just like all them politicans … he needs the black vote, therefore he cannot abandon the pastor.
To answer Dana Point – Separation of Church & Politics is only on paper. The early settlers came to American because they were prosecuted for their religion. Also these people were "criminals" – they "killed" and took most of the Indians who had helped them. So get over it … there is no separation of Church & Politics.
I did not see Obama separate himself completely from the pastor … so wake up!!!

NEW LAWSUIT LAYS OUT ILLEGAL SCHEME BY CLINTONS TO HELP HILLARY CLINTON’S SENATE CAMPAIGN

$2 Million in Unreported Campaign Contributions for Hollywood Gala Fundraiser

Judicial Watch Client Alleges Pardongate Role by Former DNC Chair Ed Rendell And Names Major Hollywood Stars Such As Brad Pitt and Barbra Streisand As Witnesses

(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest law firm that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, filed a lawsuit yesterday in California state court against Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Hillary Clinton’s Senate campaign committees (among others) on behalf of a major Clinton and DNC donor, Peter Paul. Mr. Paul, an international businessman who has had a distinguished career in philanthropy and in production and marketing, gave approximately $2 million in direct, in-kind contributions last year for Hillary Clinton’s Senate campaign. Mr. Paul gave the money in support of the “Hollywood Tribute to Bill Clinton” held on August 12, 2000. The lawsuit seeks damages from the Clintons and others over the fraud scheme. Among the lawsuit’s allegations:

* Mr. Paul paid the $2 million to the Clinton campaign as part of a $17 million offer to Bill Clinton to work with Mr. Paul’s companies after he left the Oval Office. This contribution was never reported to the Federal Election Commission, and Mrs. Clinton and her campaign lied to the media about the contributions and Mr. Paul’s funding of the gala tribute.

* Mr. Paul discussed a potential presidential pardon for prior felony convictions in return for his political contributions with then DNC Chairman Ed Rendell.

* The Clinton campaign knowingly allowed a foreign national to attend the “Hollywood Tribute” in exchange for a $27,000 contribution. This foreign national later attended the India State Dinner.

* After telling The Washington Post that they did not and would not accept any contributions from Mr. Paul, Mrs. Clinton’s campaign finance director, David Rosen, demanded Mr. Paul make another (never reported) $55,000 contribution for a separate fundraiser for Mrs. Clinton to a third party – a pro-abortion group in Illinois.

* Mr. and Mrs. Clinton made repeated calls to Mr. Paul to thank him for his financing of the Hollywood Tribute. Mr. Paul also had extensive discussions with Chelsea Clinton, Al Gore, and many aides and others to the Clintons regarding his funding of the Hollywood Tribute and his plans to work with Mr. Clinton after he left office.

* Hollywood stars, such as Brad Pitt, Barbra Streisand, John Travolta, and Cher, are named as witnesses in the complaint.

Mr. Paul has documentary evidence of his close relationship with the Clintons, including checks, thank you notes from the Clintons themselves, and candid video and photographs. Mr. Paul, who faces indictment on alleged securities violations, is eager to cooperate with the U.S. Justice Department, so that all involved are brought to justice.

If you can't release papers from the white house years when Bill was in office, then you absolutely can't be trusted and there will be NO vote. How true to form, HRC statement today on Barack Obamas comments . . . ."I haven't read it. . . ."just like the little "inconsequential" incident of sending the US into an illegal war. . .she didn't "bother" to read that either !! No way, if you can't be bothered by reading the paperwork, then you're not entitled to sit in the office !

Say the N word and it is committing a sin, but throw around the B or C words anytime you want in this country, where there are currently 17,000 slaves today – yes, that's right! But they aren't blacks – they are 'just' women being held as sex slaves, so I guess that is OK…..

And blacks treat their women even worse …take a listen to some 'urban' music sometime…. How about an honest discussion of gender in this country??? A fine speaker like Obama should be up to that task, but he says nothing.

Gordon   March 18th, 2008 3:47 pm ET

Let's see Obama Tax Papers, his schedules, his experience blotter. All you Obama suporters are blind…we can't get past the slavery issue which is 175 plus yrs ago, how can we change in the next 4 yrs…Get real people..Clinton 08

Liam   March 18th, 2008 3:47 pm ET

Having watched Senator Obama's speech, I was struck with the perception that it was much more of a speech directed toward the future, rather than the narrow confines of this year's presidential contest.

Senator Obama seemed to be in a more wistful and reconciled mood than I have ever seen him before. I thought that his remarks about how how struck he has been by how much the young people of America have moved past racial divisions, was actually an acceptance that so many others have not, that he perceives that he will not get enough support to be elected President, but that those who are not capable of every voting for someone of his race will soon fade from the scene

It struck me as a speech that was looking toward the future of America, and not what can be achieved now, not very dissimilar from Dr. King's "I have a dream" speech, except Senator Obama has witnessed that young people are ready now, but the majority of the older voters are still stuck in the past, and are unlikely to change.

Kasha   March 18th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

no surprise that this release came on the day that Obama gave his historic speech on race.

Trying to make sure you get equal press time, Hillary?

I suspect this is not a coincidental timing. Now how about the rest of what you "promised"

Terry1   March 18th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

Everyone like to say how calm Obama was during his stump speech on CNN regarding Racism.

It looked more to me like CONTROLLED RAGE.
Obama is not his own person, he has to many people controlling him, he grew up trying to please everyone and he is still doing that… Those traits are not good for a president of the most powerful country. Not good at all!

cathy   March 18th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

Let's see Obama's schedules/documents for the years he served as an elected official.

troy   March 18th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

Hillary just got the call that these documents have been "prepared" for viewing! If you are seriously considering her for President PLEASE SLEEP ON THAT DECISION………. until Christmas!

jp/michigan   March 18th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

I am still waiting for Obama to release tax returns from 2002, when he first started taking donation money from another good friend, Tony Rezko.

Emma Becker   March 18th, 2008 3:45 pm ET

So much of ourselves and the way we need to see things are expressed through our comments. The opinions that most of us share are not facts based on evidence, but what we seem to need to believe.

I would like to see Obama as our next president.

Ticket of HOPE:Obama Al-Gore   March 18th, 2008 3:45 pm ET

Once her archive is released everyone will see that most of her experience was nothing but setting in the white house and making facial and nail appointment. Obama was right: Experience… what Experience??

stephanie   March 18th, 2008 3:45 pm ET

I think this country is ready for a WOMAN PRESIDENT and HIllary will get the job done !

Helen   March 18th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

OK Obama, now that Hillary has released her documents that you wanted how how about you releasing yours. How about all your tax returns and how about the papers on the purchase of your home from the crook in Illinois. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. You people make me sick when you harp on Hillary's papers. We know nothing about Obama and he has the gall to ask for her papers. He won't answer the tough questions but then he really isn't ask too many by the news media. They have given him a free ride from day one. Vote for Hillary!!

Mike   March 18th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

There are still many things that havent uncovered about Obama he hopes does not hit before the other primaries.

Jacqueline Samms   March 18th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

How convenient…Right after Obama's speech. Think she's scared? I think so.

bella   March 18th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

What about obama's documents.
Does he have any or no he hasn't done anything or anything corrupt?

Ratgurl   March 18th, 2008 3:43 pm ET

So they need 1-2 YEARS to go through the documents to what…? Sanitize them? Ever heard of "control+F"? On a computer, you can look for SS #'s, phrases, names, etc. Give ME the documents. I'll have them ready in 2 weeks!

Now about those taxes……

JOANN   March 18th, 2008 3:43 pm ET

Kenneth   March 18th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

To Josh: (commets above)- You ignorant fool. You say all races had to endure slavery and just not blacks. Please reference a time in history that white americans had to eundure slavery like blacks. Also, I can not believe that you are actually trying to blame slavery on Africans. I know that Africans had tribal wars, but the only reason why Africans were able to sell some of their captives to whites was that whites went to Africa. It is not like Africans invited them over there you idiot. Also, most whites that went to Africa did not buy slaves from other Africans, they just captured them and took them. Bottom line is, as far as slavery goes, if whites would have stayed out of Africa, it would not have happened you idiot.

Now that Hillary is giving up her personal records I think we should see what Obama is hiding I would like to see how much $$$ he gave to his racist minister how about that!!! Obama should bow out of the race before divides this country any more than he already has!!!! With the re-election of GW it showed how stupid most americans really are but it's time to WAKE UP AND SUPPORT SOMEONE WHO CAN CLEAN UP THIS MESS WITH THE COUNTRY!!!! Anytime there is a problem in the family who is the one to fix it that's right a WOMAN USUALLY MOM!! So mom's it's time to vote for Hillary she will clean up the MESS!!! Stop blaming her for Bill cheating on her I think it takes a strong woman to put that aside for the sake of her family. And cheating although it's wrong aleast he hasn't been a RACIST for the past 20 years…..

Michael   March 18th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

Hillary has solutions. Obama has speeches.

During the current economic crisis, Obama is talking about race while Hillary is talking about solutions!

Mike in Houston   March 18th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

11,000 pages of fluff to be spun into "meaningful experience". Hillary's quixotic campaign will leave two lasting results:

1) The Clinton's will completely fade from public relevance, and;

2) The creation of a new political party through the split of the current democratic party.

Great job Hillary.

Obamabot08   March 18th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

STOP WORRYING ABOUT THE CLINTONS, America needs to put OBAMA UNDER THE SCOPE. STOP LISTENING TO THE RA RA and really start listening. OBAMA is full of hype and NO substance.

Danielle   March 18th, 2008 3:40 pm ET

And how exactly are all these public records going to fix the economy, rebuild our schools, bring our troops home from Iraq . . . ? No one really cares – this story is just more distraction from the real problems in America.

not enough Obama   March 18th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

It was "not" enough words in his speech to say he is not one of the persons that sits for 20 years and is shaped by the Pastor's ideas and his words. Comparing what his white grandmother said and what Pastor Wright said are two "completely different things. You can not compare the two. It is true Pastor Wright is part of Obama because they believe in the same things.

How can we have this type of ideas and values in the White House.
We should have an "American" who loves his country and "all" people. The way it should be in all churches. Jesus Loves All His Children. Obama- Listen- You are going to the wrong church.

Mildred   March 18th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

I have read some of the racist blog on this CNN. You see that is what Rev Wright was talking about, it is still going on today. Obama can not be blamed for what his Pastor say. That is wrong. He is only a member in that Church. And as for him leaving that church, that is where God sent him and I do not blame him for not leaving, because where is Rev Wright, He has retired from preaching. That video is about 9 years old and who ever went and dug up that video to hurt Obama did not stop anything. I see a lot of you have never been in a Black church so you would not understand anything about a Black church.

Sweep around your own front door, before you try and sweep around someone else.

Changing to Independent   March 18th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

I agree with Dana, Not sure who I am voting for however. We can not be held accountable for what our spiritual leaders say. I don not always agree with everything my Bishop says. St. Peter was known as the cussing disciple, however, he favored in the eyes of Jesus. Many devout catholics continue to attend their churches even though their legacy is plagued with some serious molestation allegations. Many conservatives attend churches whre Pastors make extremely radical statements in regard to anyone that is not white Evangelical. However, there is soo much more to all of these churches that keep their parishoners returning. So often we believe and hear what we want to hear. I listenede very carefully to Sen. Obama because I have not made up my mind. He simply stated that he has been in church when Rev. Wright has made what some would call inflamatory remarks, however, he never stated he was there when the comments in question where made, which makes sense since as a politician, I'm sure he doesn't attend church as often as the avergae person. Even if you don't like him, try not to what the ignorant do, and hear what we want to hear.
I have 2 questions, doesn't seem like Sen Clinton or McCain, have any real christian ties, and if that doesn't matter to you, it should concern you what church Sen. Obama attends.
And last but not least, can we now rule out that he is muslim!

Samantha Klein   March 18th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

Do we really know when Hillary went to the Ladies' Room? Or is the "Women's Room" in the White House.

I'm sure she had lots of meetings. Maybe she played Bridge. I know she went to Church. She must have gone shopping to buy pants suits and some nicer outfits for evening wear for White House functions. I hope she and Bill went out to restaurants sometimes – probably McDonald's, Bill's favorite. She must have gone to visit her family, especially on holidays – we all do that. And she went to visit so and so countries with Bill, first ladies do that, even places like Russia.

So why do we need to know this stuff? Personally, I don't care. Maybe where she went as a Senator from New York would be more interesting.

Edgar   March 18th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

People today speach can't be history in the making for someone who said one thing over the weekend and another! Stop being lie to and come to reality.

Obama can't be President because he is not for all Americans! How can he unite if for 20-years he was Rev. Wright church member. Please see the truth.

TK   March 18th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

What a country! It makes me sick to learn that a black (even half black) person have to prove a lot more just to get our approval; and that a white citizen feels proud for votting black! way to go America with the bigotry. I thought we are at a time where a person is weighed for who he is.

Alien   March 18th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

the very fact that she has 11000 pages of archive shows her experience …
how much does obama have .. a 100 ?

None of Your Business   March 18th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

White people are not ready to REALLY talk about racism as it presently exist in America! This is the real issue, they would rather skirt around or practice surface talk rather than face the issue that racism is prevalent in many forms. I say more power to OBAMA for facing it and defeating any preconceived notions of ineligibilty in presidential campaign. YES WE CAN!

Kathy   March 18th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

The focus shouldn't be on Sen. Clinton, she's been under the scope for years and has dealt with the scrutiny. The one we need to put under the scope is Sen. Obama. There's a lot of hype, but no substance. The country needs to step back for a minute and really think about who Sen Obama is, what he stands for & his lack of experience. Maybe in time he will be ready to be president, but America needs to get to know him better. We are in a CRISIS in this country & Americans just want to sit back and ignore. We need our most experienced candidates in there now & Sen. Obama is not the one. He talks a lot, but lacks substance, clarity & plan. I'm not convinced by all the hoopla for Sen. Obama.

Why Obamanian don't talk about crazy pastor   March 18th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

Obama supporters,

Now you and your candidate does not have anything to point fingers at Clinton. Now what !!!! talk about crazy anti-american maniac pastar, Obama is think we are stupid enough to believe that he never heard those angry-hatred sppech when he was in church. Talk about new politics, spreading hatredness behind the close door, talk about unity in crowd. SUCH OLD WASHINGTON POLITICS, Obama criticised Clinton so much about transparancy, Obama never talk about his crazy pastor talk about transparancy. Before running for president, he is in such favor of pastor to get BLACK VOTE, now he want to distant himself, talk ABOUT JUDGEMENT AND TRANSPARANCY,NOT SO OLD POLITICS. What happened to his judgement,!!!

The media gods are really angry. What will they put on tv, if they can't play Obama's pastor's soundbites. I know let's feed them Sean Hannity–he's expendable.

Disclaimer: The media gods can not cough Sean back up, if the taste is bitter, and rancid.

James, Pittsburgh PA   March 18th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

Quit blaming her for smearing him – he smeared himself, and it was the media who outed him not HRC's campaign.

Alicia   March 18th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

A quick note on the Obama-Preacher Scandel. The media is fowl and have now blemished the record of a man who has nothing to do with the political process. At one time or another, EVERYONE has said something that was not the views of others. It is called an opinion. Everyone has them but that does not mean everyone agrees with you or that what you say is right.
Now, about Clinton only releasing her schedule as first lady. Looks like a way to get people to shut up about her releasing her tax returns, earmarks, etc. Her schedule will prove nothing of her experience except that she has travel over seas which also doesnt prove she has more experience. I've been to the Bahamas and Mexico. Does that mean I have enough foreign experience to be president? When she shows me the money she has taken in to do favors for the big wigs and owns up to it, then maybe I will have more respect for her.

Anna, SW Missouri   March 18th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

I am a white 57 year old female that grew up and still belong to the Methodist church. Methodist ministers, as well as all ministers talk politics in church. Many times I do not agree with what my minister says. Am I supposed to leave my church? If you really think about it, how many of your own parents, if not yourselves have racist views and feelings, even if you do not state them in "mixed company" I was raised by racist parents. My father was a Southern Baptist. Believe me, they are just as racist as any other. We do need to have a conversation about race in this country. Just because we white folks finally changed the laws, that does not forgive us of our own sins against other races. Comments on this blog show that racism is alive and well in the United States of America. But to say that Barack Obama is racist is rediculous. Please tell me, who is he racist against? His white mother and grandparents or his black father and grandparents?

Joyce in Florida   March 18th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

Obama should release all his tax returns, etc. and everything he is asking from Hillary Clinton as well. I am sure he is hiding something. What, we only see his 2006 tax return? What a joke. Would like to know where all his money is coming from. It is only fair. Of course, he says he "NO" to releasing anything else. Kind of makes you wonder what HE IS HIDING.

Hillary Clinton, all of us here in Florida are routing for you. You have been the most gracious first lady during the Clinton Administration and you still are. I would welcome another Clinton Administration in a heartbeat. You have the smarts and I believe you can win!!

Wake up Obama supporters you were duped to believe Obama was in the like of MLK, who by the way was a uniter and loved this country no matter what.

You want another African American who never bad mouth this country and loved it Megar Evers! Remember him an Icon!

Join the Movement – the future of American politics.

Brad   March 18th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Barack's minister is absolutely no different than the big-monied white televangelists such as Jerry Fallwell and others who have spoken their brand of hatred as well, and they all do it with tax exempt status.

Hillary, Bill, and Barack as well are destroying the festering remnants of the democratic party; and speaking as a democrat turned independent, I am at this point hoping for a full party split because neither party speaks to me. I truly believe that I would vote for a communist or Ralph Nader before I would vote to include pieces of another dynasty in the White House.

By the time Bush's term FINALLY ends, we will have had 20 years of our nation in the hands of 2 families, with the possibility of making it 24 or 28 years. And still the Clinton's egos are more important that the United States of America.

People don't want to hear about ending the war or who voted against the war from the beginning or whether the "surge" is working – those are meaningless questions at this point. We want to hear about how our government will finally place the United States of America first, about how our government will consider Americans more important to the future of America than Iraqis, about how our government is determined to invest in America's future, not Iraq's.

If ONE candidate addressed the real problems, Americans just may move beyond the race, sex, experience and age topics that seem to always be at the top of the list – Americans just may listen.

Jyh1920   March 18th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

I agree. Josh is an Idoit.

Michael, PA   March 18th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

Okay, all you ObamaBots, you are obviously not reading the ENTIRE article. It's not hillary that is releasing the documents, it's the National Archives.

It is the National Archives that are saying that it will take one to two years to process the remainder of the documents for proper release!
You are all so quick to judge, but you don't want to give proper procedure a chance to take place.

It's no wonder Obama generally looks squeeky clean (until recently). He's got a horde of mindless automotons whom most can't even name one single accomplishment of Obama, doing the dirty work for him.

You're all acting like a buch of cattle being herded by Obama, but little do you know your being lead to the salughter…

Jermaine   March 18th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Dana, you are correct, however OBAMA preacher isn't the only Pastor in these United States talking about politics. Isn't the Republican Establishment built the church and the church all about politics? The Democrats are the same. What Hillary supporters have done is to post the Pastor speach on U-Tube to make OBAMA more racially defined. This has hurt not OBAMA but the democratic party, what I am scared of is that Hillary has ensure that OBAMA will loose the some white votes to Mccain. What I do know is that OBAMA will win the Presidency. I do believe that Hillary will win PA and WVbut loose NC, IN, MT, OR, SD, MI and PR. The notion that she is staying in the race to ensure that she can be the savior of the party should something about OBAMA comes up later proves she is hungry for Power. Hillary Clinton has so damaged that people will either vote for Mccain or stay home. The bad thing is that most of her supporters are supporting here because she is a female over all else, and that is something very naive. Fererro said something she didn't meant to be said in that light, then the Clintons release the U-Tube posting of OBAMA's preacher. Hilliary and Bill better be ware because they cannot set foot in another Black church with credibility after using the media to tear down a black pastor and community. The racial issue will always be apart of American fabric, the problem is in this campaign it seems to be more apealing for blacks to move to the Republican Party. If OBAMA was such a viable candidate in the party of Lincoln he would no doubt be the nomninee. The problem with the "OLD DEMOCRATIC" Party is that it is as bigoted as Hillary supporters who cannot support OBAMA because he is black or for any other reason. They use his lack of experience, his youth, his pastor, his religion, and everything else to include his race, he wasn't black enough for black voters to vote for him, but when blacks voted for him he was too black. Wow, I am so over it! HILLARY should give up now, I hope OBAMA choose AL GORE as his VP, he will most certainly beat John Mccain in a landslide. Gore has the judgement and the leadership to back up OBAMA on any 0300 AM calls. Hillary has dig herself a hole she will never get out of, Oh how she has fallen. The fact that some many super-delegates are on the fence inlcuding Edwards and Richardson proved that they will in the end support OBAMA. What they should do is to end this campaign after PA. Hillary cannot win, and the media need to report good journalism and stop insiteing racial hatred etc. The MEDIA is focusing the campaign in niche groups like a marketing campaign and that in essence is how Hillary focus her campaign thus far and so what I am saying is the media is BIAS towards OBAMA in favor of Hillary, and BIAS towards ending the campaign. The more time Mccain has to run around the world and make waves with Iran, "Bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran" and today saying Iran is inlfuencing Iran, get over it so too is America in Iraq, it would be foolish for the Iranians if they didn't try to get some influence in the region. Should any country Russia and China etc allow the US to meddle in their back yard? Come on people don't be fooled by the political elites like Hillary and Mccain, they have been in Washington for far too long that they are really out of touch with American and the World.
A John Mccain Presidency is another WAR with IRAN. If OBAMA is not elected President then I am sure the US will be on the downward spiral and I might as well move to CHINA!

Emmanuel   March 18th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

As an Obama supporter, I am willing to take on Rush Limbaurgh, racial hate mongers and Bill and Hilary Clinton loyalyst who want to fan the ambers of racal devide and hatrad in America.

Rush is a drug addict, he is minimising the importance of civil responsibilities by asking Republicans to vote in Democratic primaries in order to prolong the dog fight between Hillary and my main Man Obama.

Rush has no credibility, he is a megaphone mouth peice. He says he wants to play Rev. Jeremiah's tape in the fall?. But every time he does that, there should be a response, of the tapes of the KKK burning and killing black people.

Obama says lets move on. Lets move on. AMerica, all.

deb   March 18th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Just so you know, the delay is due to lawyers looking through these documents to redact sensitive and personal information. Under the Freedom of Information Act, you are allowed to request information, but they "black out" information that is sensitive to security or contain personal information. For instance, you don't have a right to see people's social security numbers. If this is related to her scheduled, there is probably a lot personal information that needs to be blacked out.

As for the tax records, Senator Obama only released his 2006 taxes. The Clintons have 20 years of tax returns available to the public, just not the most recent ones. Why doesn't Senator Obama release ALL of his tax returns from his time in public office?

This tax returns stuff is just a red herring from Senator Obama's office to deflect from his own problems.

Rachelraye   March 18th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Can we get on with the subjects at hand and elect a Democrat for President. We all know she's hiding something and frankly, I don't care. I don't care about Obama sitting in church listening to Rev. Wright's sermon. I don't agree with everything my pastor says also but doesn't mean he's not a good teacher. These things are not going to lower gas prices, food prices, college tuition, utilities bills, etc.
Let's focus what's at stake here. Can anybody spell recession.

Matt NC   March 18th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Does anyone ever tell the whole truth? Most people prefer, as Senator Clinton does, to keep some details about the private life just that-Private. I listened to Obama's speech today with a very understanding ear. However, it is stricking that one thing that has not been picked up about that speech is the contradiction. He stated several times last week that he had not heard any anti American comments from his pastor and had not been present in Church when his pastor has made some of the very comments that have plastered the media recently. But for those who like to overlook the smaller details, did he or did he not admit to being present during his speech today. Contradiction!!!! So, the question in my mind now is Why the lie? The man is a political snake. He once again is playing on the ignorance of the American People and is hoping that he will fool us all or at least enough to win the nomination and the Presidency.

Another very important thing to note: Please pay attention: He parralled his speech today with with two distinct speeches that were given years ago by one of America's greatest political figures, Barbara Jordan. Please research and listen to Barbara Jordan's Key Note Address of 1976 and also the statements that were made by her at the Nixon hearings involving the Watergate Scandal. His speech once again was nothing original, just like his politics.

Maybe we all need to understand that this man is not the answer to America's Problems.

where is Obama's record? tax returns?

JJ in NY   March 18th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

OF COURSE, THE MOST IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS WON'T BE REVEALED, OR WILL BE MISSING…. LIKE THE BILLING RECORDS FROM THE ROSE LAW FIRM DURING THE WHITEWATER INVESTIGATION, THAT MYSTICALLY APPEARED IN THE DINING ROOM OF THE WHITE HOUSE SEVERAL YEARS LATER. I WONDER IF THESE NEWER DOCUMENTS INCLUDE ANY OF THE SENSITIVE DOCUMENTS THAT THE CLINTON'S NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR, SANDY BERGER, PILFERED FROM THE ARCHIVES AND STUFFED IN HIS SHORTS AND SOCKS .

Debbie   March 18th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

What's your nationality? Jewish race who will never forget the Holocaust, the Irish, Latin Americans, African born people who are still being slaughtered, Italians and all other nationalities will never forget injustice made to them. You are just stupid yourself. You sound like a racist yourself. What your ancestors did don't speak for you.

rachel   March 18th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

So it takes her almost 8 years since you have been out of the White House to release your first lady documents. Hillary, you now people want to scrutinize you, so why give them the chance unless u really had something to hind. I think you don't, but it raises doubt when you are so reluctant to release documents from your White House days.

Kis   March 18th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Josh, your comments are not appropriate for this topic. stay on the issue and get your facts right. Obama did not say that, go and listen to what he said and if you don't understand it, let someone with better understading explain to you.

In addition, erase your bitterness for the betterment of this country including others too.

Good — one less thing for anti-Clinton people to obsess about. As for the redactions (not "retractions," as some have mischaracterized the article), that is standard practice to protect the privacy interests of those who may be referenced in the documents. As set forth in the article, the redactions are of social security numbers, phone numbers, and addresses — no "smoking guns" as many seem to imply — simply private, and irrelevant, information!

Edgar   March 18th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

Obama is no MLK, JFK or even RFK. He lied people we need to now see who his wife really is! Obama supporters have a double standard when it come to their candidate!

HRC will make a comeback.

KipKun   March 18th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

God finally something so the Obama supporters could stop whining. boo hoo Hillary isn't releasing her tax returns. How about Obama and Rezko "little dirty secret?" Hmm? It had been so quiet about that. Let's talk about it some more please.

Now they both have something we don't know too much about. Just because Hillary has a history that doesn't mean Obama would not start one.

Whoever is writing most of Obama speeches, quit with the empathy speeches, only suckers fall for emotional and "false-hope" speeches.

America will be America. The only way we can ever unite is in the time of wars in our own soil. Look at 9-11, I'm pretty sure we all shared something there. Food. Hope. Love. Care. Kindness. Obama cannot do a thing unless he was to start a civil war or threaten humanity.

Barack is going to LOSE! He knows that he has played the race card far too many times to win the general election. His true colors have been exposed…thus the reason for his big phoney speech today. I guess all you supporters will blame Hillary for Obama's Reverend's speech too. It's all her fault…right? You just have a very poor candidate who happens to like to speak. He and Oprah are both racists hiding behind the guise of being "new thinkers". But wait a minute…a black person couldn't be racist could they? LOL! Anyone but Obama!

The only one that sounds uneducated is you. You are following a person or the idea of a person that he is going to give this country automatic change. You are more like a teenager voting on American Idol for your favorite singer. Obama was asked to release his previous tax reports from the start of his Senate career and the Obama camp said NO. The Clintons tax returns and some White House documents have been released for several years now. The one in question was this years. You being a woman should have more pride that Women have come such a long way. Us as women always critisize each other harsly and do not come together to see what good we could accomplish. You are the one with the lack of true hope and equality.

Obama supporters will never be happy with how many, or what form of documents are released from the Clintons.

I have a lot of pride to be standing by Hillary not just because I am a woman but because I have seen and read her life's work and she truly is a champion on champions.

HIllary – American Loves you!!!

CNN PLEASE POST THIS!

CNN why aren't you reporting on all the Clinton scandals. The new ones Peter Paul vs. Hillary Clinton…and the old ones: Travelgate, Filegate, Pardongate, White Water, who killed Ron Brown, Arkansas trooper deaths, what about Vince Foster, Cattle Futures sold for 150 times what they were worth, Paula Jones, Gennifer Flowers, Monica, the list goes on and on! Why is CNN covering these up?

IAMWMD   March 18th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

Hillary's amazing declaration: Surprisingly, she doesn't recall anything. Because of Paul's extensive home videos and testimony in the David Rosen criminal trial, "I don't recall" is not going to fly this time.

Barack Obama is playing innocent, he should be transparent too, he needs to release all the help he got from Rezco and he should release the source of his campaign funds & his spendings!

I really cannot believe what these Obama supporters, they are mean & would really destroy the party! Obama is not qualified to lead! Not electable! Easily to be defeated by McCain, he also has dubious past that we have never uncovered (J. Wright fiasco).

HILLARY is more credible and she can present a real solution to our problems now. We cannot keep of digging the past, let's move on….

What is Clinton hiding?   March 18th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

I find it very interesting that sections of this were taken out. I also find it interesting why she decided to release this now, when in reality these could have been released a long time ago. How come she hasn't released the most important documents such as her tax returns, earmarks, and donor library…. What is Hillary Clinton hiding?

On an interesting sidenote, we hear about Obama and Rezko all the time yet no one can really get any dirt on Obama about his dealings. Obama has even met with the press multiple times to answer all questions involving Tony Rezko. Yet, we never hear anything about Hillary Clinton's scandals such as her ongoing trial with Peter Paul over possibly the largest campaign donation fraud in the history of the United States. She makes the Obama and Rezko dealings seem like nothing and no big deal compared to all the dirty laundry she has…

WHAT IS CLINTON HIDING?

I guarantee that in a couple of weeks she will release her 2007 tax returns and expect us to forget about the prior several years when she and her husband made most of their money. CNN report and inform!

By the way, are you asking John McCain the same question? Has he released his?

Lastly, there's nothing that requires presidential candidates to release their tax returns.

Enough, already "ladies" with your so-called intelligent comments regarding Hillary's alleged experience. Mz. Clinton is simply trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. Non-Obama supporters are hypocrites. Here's why: these people run off at the mouth about how they would never vote for Obama because of relations with Pastor Rev.Wright; yet, most of these same people are supporting Hillary, even though she is married to a man that lied in the White House for his affairs.

These same people act like they were Obama supporters from the start. None of you were his original supporter's; otherwise, you wouldn't let this foolishness change your mind. Stop trying to make it seem like you suddenly switched your support. You people are fake, and hateful.

Eqality and Liberty for All   March 18th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Barack Obama is a clever politician. He stayed close to Rev. Wright all these years and found his faith because of him. Now that we have all the filth that this pastor has been talking about for years out in the open, Obama now denounces the speeches. Are the American people that stupid? If you are talking about judgement – a man is judged by the friends he keeps. Obama is polished, politically savy person who is not to be trusted. For all you Obama supporters – why has Obama waited to condemn Rev. Wright's filthy rhetoric until it was out in the open? Do you really trust the judgement of a man who is deeply embedded with a racist relegious organization? Can America afford to roll the dice on Obama esspecially after knowing all about his ties to Rev. Wright? Obama – Wrong for America.

dajack   March 18th, 2008 3:09 pm ET

As a white America-loving male, I don't see a single thing wrong with anything Rev. Wright said. Those sentiments are the product of a racial identity that is very real in this country. People on the outside may not understand, and we always fear that which we don't understand – but when you take away someone's dignity and try to replace it with a minimum wage job and subsidized slum housing, the result will be anger and resentment. To suppose anything else is just plain foolish.

Putting forth that anger and resentment to the exclusion of all else in the context of a Presidential election is indeed divisive and inflammatory, and that's why it's appropriate for Obama to officially distance himself from Rev. Wright's comments.

And OH MY GOD – look at all of SONA's "woman power" posts! Have you seen EVEN ONE "black power" post for Obama? Dear God, there'd be rioting in the streets!

I dare you to post this, CNN.

Being First Lady is not an elected position. It is not a valid resume item. It certainly doesn't make her qualified to be president. The fact Hillary Clinton is a socialist is all the reason I need to know she is not the right choice.

Why as a country are we embracing political ideals (socialism) that our Founding Fathers ran from when this great country was founded?

Will they include meetings on her "schedule" that she sat in on when she shouldn't have been present? Or the times she made tea for her guests? C'mon…Hillary has NO experience!

End Game1   March 18th, 2008 3:09 pm ET

Obamas wife put the frosting on the cake when she made the statement that she did not like this country until now, referring to the fact that the majority of white voters had made it possible for him to win the Wisconsin primaries. Evidently she agreed with Rev. Wrights hate whites message in their church. Obama must surely agrees with his wife and his minister are he would have found another church that taught love of country and all fellow men. THE TRUTH SEEMS TO POP OUT and people should be careful of who they vote for.

I guess there is no pleasing you Obamatons, you won't be happy no matter what happens. God forbid you make a decision based upon something besides paranoia, hearsay, or unsubstantiated republican slander. Isn't there an Oliver Stone movie or something you conspiracy theorists should be at or something. Support Obama if you choose, but please at least pay Hillary the respect of hating her for something she has actually done instead of just mindlessly repeating rumors and half-truths that have no relevance to actual fact. There is far more regarding Hillary freely available in the public domain, than there is about Obama and yet she is the one hiding something? That argument, like most of what the Obamabots express here, makes absolutely no sense and is denied by all practical experience. Speaking of practical experience, why don’t you choose a candidate that actually has some, and vote for Hillary.

Anyone with any knowledge of archival science knows that it's not just a matter of "opening the files," and that it takes years to make records available. Records must be appraised, reviewed for preservation, digitized, filed, and a finding aid created, and that's before any national security issues are considered. This work takes years for any kind of institution, much less a presidential library. It's simply unreasonable to expect that all of Clinton's records can be available by now. But, none of this will matter to people who have a political point to score.

Personally, and as a resident of Michigan, I feel that the Democrats have screwed up this election beyond repair. As an independent, I'm just glad that McCain provides me with a reasonable option from the Republicans.

I believe that someday we will have a woman in office, I don't think that woman is Hillary. She can not be trusted because scandal has been historically intertwined throughout the Clinton's political frame. I am open to change for the better not the Clinton machine that drove our foreign policy to 911. They had an oportunity to get Osama and didn't take it. We had terrorists in the US before G.W.Bush during Clinton's watch and the American public was not warned properly and that'swhy 911 came to being.
No to Clinton.

Ex Obama Supporter   March 18th, 2008 3:04 pm ET

Hillary Clinton has released more tax returns – 20 years of them, than Obama. Obama has released one year of tax returns. We should be asking Obama to release HIS returns, particularly those years with his questionable relationship with Rezko. What is HE hiding?
All you Obama supporters really need to think that through before you start point fingers. Transparency? Not with Obama!

Maybe Obama supporters really are delirious, seeing that they gobble up anything that is spoon-fed to them by him, without giving it much thought.

Eagle Eye   March 18th, 2008 3:04 pm ET

These documents seem not to include anything related to the issue
of the Presidents last moment padons issues to MARK RICH, Hillaries brothers and others, as they should be in be in Bill ralated files.
???????????????

Paul   March 18th, 2008 3:04 pm ET

It’s about time Hillary is releasing something even though it is just a little part of it, and of all that she has been asked to release. How can you even think to vote for someone that hides such information? Politics as usual!! You don't get experience through osmosis hanging around your husband. By the way why don’t we ever see Bill and Hillary as a family together on the same stage, marriage of convenience, that’s not the family values we need leading our Country.

No wonder why the EDUCATED people of this great Nation are voting for Obama. Pennsylvania, I hope your educated enough to make the right choice.
OH, and show us your TAXES or are you trying to cover up something else. Did I say Cover Up!!

richard, Coweta Ok   March 18th, 2008 3:03 pm ET

I'm sorry but Hillary has taken enough time to do this, that any information given now could have been altered. She should have released them when first asked. I'm sorry, but I trust no politician.

Trev   March 18th, 2008 3:02 pm ET

For the tax return Clinton Haters out there. The only returns Obama has released are the 2006 returns. Otherwise, he is just as secretive. The politics of talking out of both sides of one's mouth.

Hillary 08

m michelle brian   March 18th, 2008 3:01 pm ET

I can’t help laughing out loud whenever I saw Obama supporters barking out “Tax returns, Tax returns, where is her Tax returns?”

They just didn’t get it. Hillary is preparing this campaign for more than 10 years; you guys would think she is stupid enough to have some financial scandals for the year of presidential election?? Get a grip!!!

I can’t wait to see Obama’s disappointment on April 15th.

Marie   March 18th, 2008 3:01 pm ET

Thank goodness these records will be released. The media is obsessed with finding anything negative on Hillary. It is getting old.
Why hasn't Obama released ALL of his tax returns yet? He has claimed to have done so. Just another lie?

Rachel, MA   March 18th, 2008 3:01 pm ET

Good. Now all the Obama supporters can shut up and moved beyond these petty politics.

What do you all expect to find? That she was sitting around all day having tea parties for eight years?

I don't think the Obama supporters who were pressing for the documents to be released know exactly what they're looking for. Same with the tax returns.

Hillary still gets attacked regardless of how much requested information she releases…It seems some people still want more to try to find something to attack her with…It's getting alittle one sided.
Obama talks about his transparency but it seems he will only be transparent when he get found out about something…It seem is first reaction is to lie..not remember etc..Then he admits to it…More to come on that front on his dealings with Rezko, and some of his legistature he sponsered in Chicago…

Yeah lets just get all that information out there so when some FBI person who is her body guard in 1996 gets killed we can blame Hillary.

WHAT I'M WORRIED ABOUT IS OBAMA: he has only handed out ONE year of Tax records and NO information about the people he has talked to the last 3 years he has held a political position (I bet McCane will ask for these though and when they find out that his paster is with him several times a week Obama will lose the General Election by even more then he will now)

Documents "removed before being released, that largely relate to privacy concerns" ????

Paul   March 18th, 2008 2:59 pm ET

This is just the start of what the Democrats are set for if Hillary cheats her way to the nomination. The Republicans will be unearthing documents left, right and center on Hillary and her corrupt cronies in the Clinton White House.

How can people write capitalised chants on this website for a woman who has reinvigorated her campaign with lies (about NAFTA), race-baiting (about Rev. Wright & Obama) and the considerable help of Rush Limbaugh? I making it a policy to stay on the opposite side of any debate to Rush Limbaugh, and any Democrat who does his bidding isn't worthy of the name.

The American Voter is not Dumb   March 18th, 2008 2:59 pm ET

There should be a separation of church and state. Our forefathers were right. That is why they found a new world, and why everyone has a right to practice his or her own religion without interference from the government.

Barack's preacher should not have been talking about politics, but God.

Having said that, I am still voting for Barack, because he had nothing to do with what his preacher said. If you want to chastise everyone for listening to a preacher with racist views, we are all guilty because we have all heard the televangelist on tv.

Changing to Independent   March 18th, 2008 2:57 pm ET

I must say that there isn't anything new about full disclosure from the Clintons. I believe that lately we are so pressed to poke a finger at their background when it has been shady in many areas, white water, Sen. Clintons ties to lies at her old law firm, but we knew these things and celebrated the Clintons in the 90's. It is now unfair to now hold them to a different standard.

People are nervous about Sen. Obama, they don't want any surprises come Nov, sad thing is, that could happen with either candidate.

With all of the ignorant racist remarks on this blog, idiots talking about get over slavery and such, it seems to me that if Rev. Wright is racist, so are most of the CNN newstaff, as well as most of the uneducated folks who post to these blogs.

After Obama's speech today. If he isn't on the ticket somewhere….Hillary will not win in Nov. because african americans will not come out to vote if he is excluded from the process.

Sad but true….she cannot beat McCain with our vote. She is barely in this race without us now….A lot of McCain voters are voting for her now, but in Nov. she can't count on the 'white' vote.

As I said before….she can't win without us……

So all the Hillary lovers and Obama haters really need to think about that……

The speech has really touched a lot of hearts – like it or not.

jj   March 18th, 2008 2:55 pm ET

Did no one read the article?? It has nothing to do with her releasing them. They are being archived. It takes time for them to go thru them all. Clinton doesn't say yes this, no that. You only read and see & HEAR what you want to. Read it all. I thought all of the Obama people were suppose to be SOOOOOOOOOOOO smart. Only the supposedly educated ones vote for him, only because they can't or won't see and hear the truth. He's a racist, with a pity party.

AntiBrenda   March 18th, 2008 2:54 pm ET

Including any conversations she might have had with Monicah?
What about the so much awaited tax records? Give me a break! I think she should be forced to give out the records or get out of the race. This is the non-transparency we have been talking about all through. Hope i dont hear her mention the word "transparency" throughout her campaign because it will make her a big hypocrate (which i think she already is anyway).

After reading posts on blog the past few months I've came to this conclusion…

When you type in ALL CAPS it make ya'll look like your a teenager.
When you yell WOMAN POWER, GO GIRL, She's our Gal, etc… it turns a lot of us women off!
When you post posts that make you look like the only reason you are voting for Hillary is because she is a woman – it make ya'll look uneducated.

I am a woman and I hope to vote for a woman for president in my lifetime BUT Clinton is NOT that woman.

Relax Joe   March 18th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

Gisele: you know nothing of the Illuminati.
Tax Returns: she listed the end of April. She's got to file this years shortly.
Bill's papers: aren't in question.
Paul's failed lawsuits are nearing double digits.

Obama:
His premise early last week was that he has never heard the Reverend make such remarks and today admitted that he has heard him say such separatist, bigotted remarks.

In short, he lied and is now confessing he lied and that we should move on because in comparison to his white grandmother who also made desparaging remarks didn't mean he wasn't going to love her.

Reverend Wright isn't his Grandmother. He's the individual who was in charge of his religious support in his campaign. He is his mentor in Christianity.

I'll give him credit–he's smooth to try to compare childhood, off-the-cuff remarks to the Reverend and that they aren't any different.

They are different and as one matures and moves up the ladder you have that talk with your relatives [more than once] that you don't accept nor ignore such divisive language from them.

Change doesn't just come from you it has to be extended to your family members.

Politically, you aren't running to convince your family they must change and you yourself have transcended the divisive language of hate.

Coming full circle, Obama sought out this church to get in with the local community and to get their support to run for State Senate.

He consciously took the best with the worst of the rhetoric and attitudes he saw and sees within the church community.

His one goal has been quite simple: To be the President of the United States of America.

Anyone who sets out to be this has always had an agenda. Whether you want to see it as noble or arrogant it still exists.

Nothing in this speech resolved the simple fact that he weighed the pros and cons of having this relationship; and that from his viewpoint with all the man's faults he's still worthyof his friendship.

I'm sorry, but knowingly ignoring the worst of this man's bigotry isn't a quality commendable and worthy of being the President of the United States of America.

It's irritating that comments on the Pastor Wright issue show up here, but since comments are closed on the other one, I have to respond in this article.

Obama DID NOT LIE when he said he wasn't in the pews listening to Rev. Wright. He said he wasn't in the pews during the two sound clips ("GD America" and "Chickens coming home to roost") in question.

In his speech today he said he has been in the pews when Wright has said things that could be considered inappropriate. There is no contradiction or lie there.

Bonbon   March 18th, 2008 2:44 pm ET

now Obama can shut up.

it seems he has a lot more to hide than Hillary, that is why he keeps turning the focus on Hillary

I hope someone wakes up soon, and investigates Obama, the way Ken Starr went after the Clintons all those years.

this man cannot be trusted.

I heard his speech today, all it was was words. very carefully scripted words.

I read once that Adolf Hitler was supposed to have made very eloquent speeches, that he held thousands and thousands of people spellbound while he gave a speech. AND THAT AFTERWARDS WHEN THESE PEOPLE WERE ASKED WHAT HITLER SPOKE ABOUT, NO ONE COULD REMEMBER, WORDS JUST WORDS and look what kind of a leader he turned out to be. NOW I AM NOT TRYING TO COMPARE ANYONE TO HITLER, JUST TO MAKE AN EXAMPLE THAT WORDS ARE NOT ENOUGH.

OBAMA HAS ALREADY SHOWN THIS NATION WITH HIS OWN ACTIONS, HE IS NOT TRYING TO DISTANCE HIMSELF FROM REV. WRIGHT BECAUSE HE DOES NOT BELIEVE IN WHAT REV. WRIGHT BELIEVES AND PREACHES, BUT ONLY TO MAKE HIMSELF LOOK GOOD, AND FOR NO OTHER REASON, HE EVEN STATED IN HIS SPEECH TODAY HE WOULD ALWAYS REGARD REV. WRIGHT AS A CLOSE FRIEND.

OBAMA ONLY WANTS TO MAKE IT SEEM HE IS NOT RACIST, BECAUSE HE NEEDS THE VOTES OF EVERY NON BLACK VOTER HE CAN,

BOTH OBAMA AND HIS WIFE HAVE STATED ON SERARATE OCCASIONS THEY DID NOT LIKE THIS GREAT NATION, AND ONLY WHEN THEY NEED IT NOW TO SERVICE THEIR OWN PERSONAL NEEDS DO THEY SUDDENLY LIKE IT, I JUST DO NOT BUY IT.

SO REMEMBER ALL YOU NON BLACK VOTERS, OBAMA STATED IN SEVERAL DEBATES THAT HIS POLICY'S ARE ALMOST LIKE HILLARYS, SO APPARENTLY EVEN HE SEE'S SHE IS THE BETTER CANDIDATE, HE HAS WILLINGLY ATTENDED A CHURCH THAT OPENLY PRACTICES RACISM, AND THAT IS RACISM AGAINST ALL NON BLACK VOTERS, AND HE HAS NEVER REALLY CARED FOR THIS GREAT NATION

SO WHY WOULD YOU VOTE FOR HIM

The release of this information can only help Hillary with respect to addressing the question of her experience and re-enforcing her claim that she has superior exrperience when you combine her experience as a Senator with that of her time while she was 1st Lady.

Also, after listening to Barack Obama's speech today I am convinced that he is an extremely gifted politician. I can appreciate his explanations, as they relate to comments made by his Pastor.

However, the speech still leaves me with many questions that I believe are unanswered. I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt but I still find it very difficult to believe that Obama, as a Professional man that is so articulate, educated, intelligent did not know all along about Rev Jerimiah Wright's radical opinion of America and racial opinions of white Americans.

Barack Obama is an exceptional person who I thought, would have exercised better judgement in selecting a person like Wright to be his Pastor/Mentor, as well as, being a spritual teacher for his children.

This is the problem that I as well as many Americans will have in trying to come to terms with this issue.

Here is a man that has presented himself as one that had insite and better judgement than the majority of Senators relating to voting history on the Iraq War and then you have the Jerimiah Wright debacle.

Dan   March 18th, 2008 2:42 pm ET

Frankly this is just another "legal, Washington, buisness as usual" ploy. It ties up the time & resources of a campaign that isn't exactly rolling in money, people & time. What is the hope here? What terrible dirt can you wish to find in a First Lady's schedule? This is just more negative bone digging that Mr. Obama has the luxury of promoting.

Charles Hardeman   March 18th, 2008 2:41 pm ET

Why did Obama stay at that church for 20 years? I live in Chicago and can tell you that there are hundreds of churches on the south side. Why this church and why this pastor?

There's something not right about Barak and Michelle Obama. I'm sure they're good people, but Senator Obama should not be elected President of the United States.

Basanti   March 18th, 2008 2:41 pm ET

barak is playing on the white man's guilt to win the nomination! gosh! its a sad attempt.

Joe   March 18th, 2008 2:41 pm ET

What good does this do us if all the important stuff is REDACTED, which is likely the case.

Melissa, Houseton, TX   March 18th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

OBAMA IN 2008!!!!!!!!

PS what about your tax returns Hil? :-)

PA voter   March 18th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

RELAX…she's releasing her tax returns on April 15th..you people need to chill out

She will make the best president PERIOD

Jon, Lantana   March 18th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

How old are you guys really? I mean it takes a long time to look at 11,000 records. They HAVE to go through them for NATIONAL SECURITY purposes to release these documents. It is also practice to remove SOC SEC Number, phone numbers and etc from these records. Stop harking on her for something that she is not DOING. Grow up. These are records pertaining to Hillary Clintons schedule as first lady so it does not include Bill Clintons schedules etc. (which are all already in the public domain) Obama has released his tax return for 2006 already, but where are his from 2007, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001 what is HE hiding. One year of tax return submission does not mean he has done it all along, he HASNT. What about all the missing earmarks he has forgot to submit in his so called submission of his earmarks (for only one year) I want all 8 years of records of earmarks while he was in the Illinois Senate. Just to prove a point you all are blind to what is really going on and being spoon fed laughable talking points in which you spew out as fact.

Basanti   March 18th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

Go HILLARAY! i find it interesting that barak camp accused Ferraro of racism and yet Barak himself- in his speech- delivered his message of suffering and thats why we should vote for him? out of guilt? reparation? for god's sake this is the presidency of the most powerful democracy in the world and no, affirmative action shouldnt apply to job of a president. Hillary 08!

Lily   March 18th, 2008 2:39 pm ET

I LOVE HILLARY!

I WILL SUPPORT YOU ALL THE WAY!!!!!

Robin   March 18th, 2008 2:39 pm ET

Regardless of what is the issue, you can read anger and harshness among some of the comments posted on this page. Some of Mrs. Clinton supporters and some of Mr. Obama supporters write their comments based on their hate toward the other candidate not based on their support for Mrs. Clinton or Mr. Obama. That is sad. Why not showing respects for the others, while making the points? Why acting like Extreme Right Wing activists? Then what would be the difference who is up and who is done, if we cannot tolerate each other?

Dan   March 18th, 2008 2:39 pm ET

She has released more than Obama has by a lot. Now she's releasing even more. Let's see if these type of personal attacks from Obama, that distract us from the real issues, will end.

Vince   March 18th, 2008 2:38 pm ET

Now I wonder if Obama will release some of the goodies he`s been hiding??

Natacha   March 18th, 2008 2:38 pm ET

Well well welll, how can we trust what's going to be in those documents with all the redactions and editing, cut and paste, embellishing of stories, events and all.
Next are going to be the tax returns… without editing if possible.

Gisele   March 18th, 2008 2:37 pm ET

Maybe they will also tell us about their ILLUMINATI practices!!!!

mary   March 18th, 2008 2:36 pm ET

Colie Brice, Asbury Park, NJ   March 18th, 2008 2:36 pm ET

And the tax records?

Alex   March 18th, 2008 2:31 pm ET

Now Obama should release his schedule of attending and listening to racist and America hating speeches over the last 20 years.

Fed up   March 18th, 2008 2:29 pm ET

This message is for Josh. No one knew how ignorant you were until you revealed it.

Why not OK the release of all the documents Hillary??

CR   March 18th, 2008 2:29 pm ET

Her phone logs won't be released so we won't know who called her to confirm VInce Foster's death or that Maggie Williams was successful in removing all the Clinton files from his office.

I still waiting for Obama's tax return the year he bought his and land deal with Rezko. Exactly what charities did he donate the money from Rezko to?

karen from VA   March 18th, 2008 2:27 pm ET

I am encouraged that Judicial Watch was able to successfully sue for release of her records. Now, I wish that someone would sue for release of the earmarks, particulary as they relate to possible incentive for endorsements of her presidential campaign. Voters need to know if taxpayer dollars were spent to get key endorsements.

Most of you people that are for Obama are total IDIOTS!!!

CR   March 18th, 2008 2:25 pm ET

Obama supporters saying he wasn't in the church when Rev. Wright spoke those words is the equivalent of the Hillary supporters who believe her bull that she didn't know about Monica Lewinsky, Paula Jones, Jennifer Florers, etc.

God Bless Hillary !!! Obama you LIED on TV about your church !!! lol A lot more to come !!!! HILLARY 08 ..

Bright   March 18th, 2008 2:21 pm ET

Now people can make a clear judgement of her claimed experience. I bet they must be worried sick. But I should point out the fact that a bulk of the records won't be released goes to show that something fishy is going on. Why won't they release the docs as they are bar personal SIN

Cheryl   March 18th, 2008 2:21 pm ET

Where are the tax returns??
OBAMA 08

Anonymous   March 18th, 2008 2:21 pm ET

It's about time. It's still interesting and convenient that all the papers will not be released prior to Nov 4th. What they don't want revealed will be among those not being released.

She has a lot more to hand over to the American people, such as tax returns, and Bill's library donor list. Retrieving these papers from Hillary's closet could take forever, or at least until Chelsea runs for the presidency.

This article is about Mrs. Clinton's experience as First Lady and whether or not it qualifies her to be president.

So don't vote for Obama and stop spilling your bile out in public!

Mr. C.   March 18th, 2008 2:14 pm ET

I'm sorry but we need to see everything. Why erase about 5000 schedules? What Americans should be asking is " What are really in these 4000+ schedules that had been retracted. Scams of course. Why would anyone even vote for this woman.

BG - Texas   March 18th, 2008 2:14 pm ET

Probably much to do about nothing!

Next thing you'll want is Obama's attendance records and tithes to the churh and a transcript of every sermon that he heard during the last 20 years.

Let's get on with the real issues – Economy – Iraq – Education – Health!!!

eva   March 18th, 2008 2:13 pm ET

WHERE ARE THE OBAMA'S TAX RETURNS BEFORE 2006, SO FAR HE ONLY RELEASED HIS 2006 TAX RETURN!!!

Leah DiMarco, TX   March 18th, 2008 2:13 pm ET

The tax returns, ear-marks and Clinton library records will be the most important records.

I think she released the White House records first because they will be the least inflammatory and it will side-track everyone for a bit.

It is NOW time to RELEASE those tax returns, ear-marks and library donors!

Rohit   March 18th, 2008 2:13 pm ET

Good. How about those tax returns and earmarks requests?

Charlotte   March 18th, 2008 2:12 pm ET

I'm surprised you Obama-bots don't want to see her pap smear results. You have enough problems with your own candidate and his racial stance. I guess it is hard on all of you to admit he is not Jesus. To admit he stayed in that church for 20 years and said he did not know about Rev.Wrights feelings. Today he admits he was aware…HUMMMMM

WhyNow   March 18th, 2008 2:12 pm ET

–Don't forget the Earmarks: and I bet not releasing her taxes and earmarks will show a connection.–

Yep! she is hiding something…

Jacob   March 18th, 2008 2:12 pm ET

Good step, now release your tax returns as your promised in the last debate.

Angel   March 18th, 2008 2:12 pm ET

Thank you for releasing for public view…let the firestorm of political commentary/"witch hunt" begin. Maybe this and the Rev-i-rev "news stories" will satisfy the cable news appetite until April 22…NOT!

Kiki   March 18th, 2008 2:12 pm ET

And now Obama should relese ALL his schedule documents, in particular those relating to meetings with reverend Wright and the Rezko family members for the last eight years at least. Be fair.

Jane   March 18th, 2008 2:11 pm ET

Expect those documents to look like the FBI and CIA reviewed them with black markers, scissors and scratch outs.

Hillary where the hell are your 2006 tax returns?

kelly in Utah   March 18th, 2008 2:11 pm ET

The republicans spent millions trying to get dirt on the clintons and they FAILED… Neither of them are in jail.. If you want dirt on Obama forget about records or spending millions of dollars just go to youtube.com

LB   March 18th, 2008 2:09 pm ET

I am sure that these records have been purged to be nothing but flattering to Senator Clinton. I am more interested in the tax returns, dnoors lists, earmarks, etc.

OBAMA/EDWARDS '08

NONONONO OBAMA   March 18th, 2008 2:09 pm ET

Could CNN report about relationship between Obama and Rezko?

What a liar!

NO OBAMA NO OBAMA!

Amondo   March 18th, 2008 2:08 pm ET

What is wrong with this country? Since when did a persons schedule determine anything? Hey Barack, release your schedule from when you were a community organizer.

Clinton for America!

Maria   March 18th, 2008 2:08 pm ET

Obama has inspired a level of transparency during this election cycle rarely seen. Kudos on the disclosure, let's keep it coming. It is also time for Clinton to cough up all her tax returns and give interviews about the numerous scandels during her husband's presidency. Inquiring minds want to know…

Susan   March 18th, 2008 2:08 pm ET

What took her so long????
This should have been done a long time ago.

No wonder the American people don't trust her.

JERRY   March 18th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

ALL THESE DOCUMENTS SHOULD BE WELL COOKED NOW!!!
I WAS A HILLARY SUPPORTER BUT HER REFUSAL TO GET HER TAX RETURNS OUT HAS MADE ME MORE THAN SUSPICIOUS!!!

kd   March 18th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

Of course, the Obama supporters will criticize this as well. Dear Lord, please put down the kool-aid. Support him, but Clinton is doing exactly what you demanded and yet, still rude dispisition. Can't we all just get along?

Bob   March 18th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

Its going to show that she has SO much more experience then Obama ever will. His camp is going to try and jump on ANYTHING to get the focus off him and his lies about him not being at Chruch when JUST WORDS were spoken.

Ken, Austin TX   March 18th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

I have a feeling that Clinton supporters are not going to be as impressed as they think with the release of these documents. But I'm also sure that Clinton will embellish every little sticky note, phone call, email, and gossip that went on and turn it into "experience."

S. Williams   March 18th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

i wonder how many of those calls are from Bill to Monica… :d

Alexandra   March 18th, 2008 2:04 pm ET

Where is the tax returns?
Hillary release every document not some.
Also why the redactions?
What are you hiding Hillary?
God bless Obama

bdc   March 18th, 2008 2:04 pm ET

kids don't get to "edit" their transcripts when they apply for college/jobs

Why can't they just RELEASE EVERYTHING… she DIDN'T HAVE SECURITY CLEARANCE, so how sensitive can her schedule from a decade ago be?

OBAMA 08   March 18th, 2008 2:04 pm ET

THE CLINTONS WILL NOT TELL THE -WHOLE TRUTH- ABOUT ANYTHING.

Scott C   March 18th, 2008 2:04 pm ET

Enough with the Wright stuff.

Let us find one recording of you saying something bad and then say that your entire character is defined by that statement.

It isn't like he talked like this every sermon… the three clips that are circulating are likely the only three that are as bad as that, or else there would be more in the public.

You are using this news as a weapon against a candidate you already hated.

Hillary's goose is cooked. As far as Mccain, once the american public find out that mccain gave up top secret info when he was in captivity his candidacy wont be worth the paper his betrayal was printed on.

An Agnostic Democrat   March 18th, 2008 2:02 pm ET

As usual, there will be something missing – as in the truth – as there always is when it comes to the Clintons. Why is it we never see the name Clinton and truth in the same sentence? Try googling it and nothin' comes up. Try scandal or lie and the Clinton name and the list is endless.

Scott C   March 18th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

It is really about time.

The people need to see what she was doing while living in the White House.

We need to make sure she gets credit for what she did, but doesn't get credit for what she didn't do.

This will make it so she can't take credit for her husbands entire presidency.

Can't wait for this to get out tomorrow.

Next should come her Tax returns.

manny james marietta ga   March 18th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Way to go Hillary.!!!!!! Hill 08

vanchava   March 18th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

Yes. I want to see this so call "experience".

All that's left now is her tax return, funders to the Clinton library, and her earmark records.

Corey, Maryland   March 18th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

good now where are the tax returns!

josh   March 18th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

I am highly offended that Barack Obama would think that the American people are THAT STUPID that they would believe he sat in this man's church for 20 years and never heard this man's hatred spewed from the pulpit! My ancestors NEVER owned slaves and did not engage in the trade or sale of slaves! They fought on the Union side in the Civil War to help FREE the slaves because they believed that ALL MEN are created equal!

I don't understand why they have to hang on to the slavery issue like it is a yoke around their necks. EVERY SINGLE RACE (white, black, oriental, etc., etc.) has had to suffer slavery at one time or another in their history. Slavery, for the blacks, began when their own people sold them to the Dutch spice traders. Rival tribes in Africa would fight and the victors would take prisoners as slaves for their tribe. When they discovered they could get goods from the "white man" if they gave their "slaves" to them, they began the whole mess.

La Petite Sorciere   March 18th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

OMG, some of the archives, what about all of them?
where are her tax returns………….she is hiding something, she is hiding something…………… NO MORE CLINTONS
