Rules are Rules   March 19th, 2008 10:41 am ET

Obama and Hillary supporters WE need to stop Hating on each other, about the likes and dislikes. If we want our party to win we need to stop. Unless you want McCain in the whitehouse.

This race is about putting our party in the whitehouse. WE need to come together, start thinking and stop hating.

Hong   March 19th, 2008 10:43 am ET

Good. Hope those documents make this election more transparent.

La Petite Sorciere   March 19th, 2008 10:43 am ET

about time, and let me guess is this her foreign experience resume on which she claims she saved the world and brought peace to Ireland?
she will do whatever it takes to steal the election from anyone and from the people………shame on Billary

Rick in Florida   March 19th, 2008 10:43 am ET

What about her TAXES to show where she and Bill get their money? And the list of DONORS to the Clinton Library and her campaign to show who's giving money/getting influece? They both continue to STONEWALL about these disclosures, which are far more important than the tea parties she attended in Ireland!! STOP HIDING, HILL.

Randy - Denver   March 19th, 2008 10:44 am ET

Well i guess we now know how to get information from the Clinton Campaign, file a lawsuit… reminds me of the bush whitehouse

Eric   March 19th, 2008 10:45 am ET

Happy now Obama? I can just see your campaign sifting through every document to try to find something that will hurt Hillary or your will take something and spin it as usual. I bet Jack Cafferty is there helping. lol.

g4hillary   March 19th, 2008 10:47 am ET

now obama can stop crying about it.

Stan   March 19th, 2008 10:47 am ET

It's gonna get good very very soon now. Hillary, who has based her campaign entirely on experience that we can't examine!!

So for over a year now, we had been forced to eat her rhetoric without actually seeing any proof other than the testimony of her surrogates. Finally we have documents that can be seen for what they are.

Do anyone know the website to go to?

Obama supporter   March 19th, 2008 10:47 am ET

Obama is correct you need to not only be ready on day one but also right on day one. Unfortunately he is neither; he wasn’t right on day one when buying his home. He hasn’t been right on day one for over 20 years picking Rev. Wright.

What a hypocrite! I am black and I am switching to vote for Clinton–she deserves it.

Michael, Torrance, CA   March 19th, 2008 10:48 am ET

Big deal!

PA   March 19th, 2008 10:48 am ET

Now release the eight years of tax returns and the records of the $500 million dollars donated to the Clinton Library. As a PA voter, this should be released BEFORE the PA primaries!!!!!!

Fair and Balanced   March 19th, 2008 10:48 am ET

I used to believe the Republican myth of "the media" agenda was just that - a myth. Watching this election, I have come to realize that individuals in the media do selectively seize on information and do thereby become participants in the phenomenon instead of just observers. Their motives can be as simple as advancing a storyline that is drawing interest, or as nefarious as a personal agenda. A plea - when you review these, be neither pro-Clinton nor pro-Obama. If there are things that are questionable, don't bury it.

SR   March 19th, 2008 10:49 am ET

Sen. Clinton: 7 yrs as a senator, serves on the U.S. Senate Committee for Armed Services, also 8 years First Lady=knowledge if not experience; Sen. Obama: 3 yrs as a senator, can't be bothered to chair his Subcommittee of European Affairs, 20 years in Rev. Wright's church. You do the math.

Her Highness   March 19th, 2008 10:49 am ET

It's about time, I guess we will have more "nothingness" from Her Highness.

Please check that all expenses paid tour around the world for "critical foreign" experience.

Jim   March 19th, 2008 10:49 am ET

Oh no…… it's the billing records version 2

Grif   March 19th, 2008 10:50 am ET

Cant stand the truth… Then why ask for comments…

Pity,,,

vicki $$$$$$$$   March 19th, 2008 10:51 am ET

She released the papers that would show her in a favrable light . So the media will cover this story instead of the fact that she refuses to release

HER TAX DOCUMENTS AND CLINTON LIBRARYDOCUMENTS

Stan   March 19th, 2008 10:51 am ET

Hillary: "I am probably the most transparent person in America"

You know that's a lie Billary! Where are your phone records for the WH years?

Where's your tax returns?

Where's the donor list that made up over $500 million in contributions?

"the most transparent"? What a joke!

Bob   March 19th, 2008 10:52 am ET

OK, are you happy Obama and his cult?

Lets just wait for the Cult to try and spin this anyway they can to get the spotlight off Obama and all the lies he has been telling.

TRUTH   March 19th, 2008 10:52 am ET

Here comes the truth of her leadership. I bet her job was to keep up with Bill Clinton affairs.

Tea And Cookies, Anyone?   March 19th, 2008 10:52 am ET

Maybe she will reveal her high powered talks to dignitaries, or maybe she stopped a serious world conflict–NOT.

This woman would have us to believe anything. News Flash–she was First Lady. Nothing more, nothing less.

Obama 08

Keeping It Real   March 19th, 2008 10:52 am ET

Ok. Lets see if anything is there????????

Shame on you America   March 19th, 2008 10:54 am ET

If anyone thinks they'll be anything incriminating in these documents, you're kidding yourselves…. Hillary is waaaaaaaaay too good at hiding documents. She still has some old White Water documents burried in her backyard.

Peg   March 19th, 2008 10:54 am ET

hmmm…im not sure what these schedules are suppose to be proving. What are you hiding Hillary? We demand to know!!

Tim   March 19th, 2008 10:56 am ET

Good. Now tax forms and earmarks please.

Concerned Voter   March 19th, 2008 10:56 am ET

Now that Hillary is catching up to Obama in the polls, it is lcear to me the her plan to take over the world is working. MMMOOOOOHHHHAAAAHHHAAAAAHHHHAAAA!

sue, NJ   March 19th, 2008 10:57 am ET

oh boy!!

here we go!!!

hold on to your seat belts!!

we are not going to be in for a BUMMPY RIDE!!!!!!!!!!

Pat M Canada   March 19th, 2008 10:58 am ET

To all the commenters/bashers on the other Clinton Thread regarding her Released Schedules - I have only one thing to say -
I guess it won't take as long to release Obama's schedules! A couple of pages won't be much of a chore! So let's see his record of service!
What's good for the Goose is Good for Gander!

Ethel   March 19th, 2008 10:59 am ET

What happened to my previous comment? Has it been censored and discarded because I insist that Americans think of who and what is driving our political machine? If that is so, then we are lost and my opinions are no longer protected by 'Freedom of Speech' and "freedom of expression'. Pity.

Alice in Fort Myers   March 19th, 2008 11:00 am ET

Now we need to see how much money Obama donated to his racist church

Del   March 19th, 2008 11:02 am ET

These records , in my opinion, have been edited and re-written so many times to read the way the clintons want them. we will only see contents they want. what couldn't be edited, they blacked out. Supposesly there were forty some thousand pages and they only left eleven thousand. What in the world is wrong with Americans? why haven't we learned the hilly-billys cannot be trusted with anything. Doing the same thing over and expecting a difference outcome is insane.

Norm   March 19th, 2008 11:02 am ET

What does the donors list for "His" library have to with her?????

Karie in MD   March 19th, 2008 11:02 am ET

Wohoo! It's about time! And I second Rick In Florida… bring on the tax records and show us your true colors and "experience."

Peter   March 19th, 2008 11:03 am ET

It's about time - can we have the rest of them please. you know the 33% that weren't released. Since she didn't have national security clearance I don't understand the problem.

YES WE CAN   March 19th, 2008 11:03 am ET

Ok, BUT WHERE ARE HER TAXES?

The Great One   March 19th, 2008 11:03 am ET

Rules are Rules i totally agree. I have a feeling that by the end of this race we will send in a wounded dog to fight a republican wolf.

king from toronto   March 19th, 2008 11:03 am ET

i agree with the first comment.but hillary' has bin to secretive.

Sue   March 19th, 2008 11:04 am ET

And 34 pages are missing. Who's fault is that?

end of obama   March 19th, 2008 11:04 am ET

Hillary is the right person for America. Obama hid more than Hillary, including his house, relationship with so many corrupted people.
let's unite for Hillary.

RYAN IN TEXAS   March 19th, 2008 11:04 am ET

Release your tax returns and other papers…..

300 million people 're caught up in a concept of two family leaders—what a shame and dumbfounded as it may sounds?

maya   March 19th, 2008 11:04 am ET

And people saying that Obama's speech was so "courageous" and "bold" are- I think- letting their emotions cloud their reasoning. Obama was forced to make this speech after a series of bad judgments -starting with sitting in the pews of a racist preacher for 20 years- rookie mistakes, and contradictory statements (Does anyone know- did he or did he not hear the speeches? He is flip-flopping all over himself. WHY DID HE NOT HAVE THE COURAGE TO SPEAK OUT AGAINS RACISM long ago). Obama insults our intelligence and our ability to reason. He is not bold, not courageous, not viable. He is a packaged candidate, a true politician.

ALB   March 19th, 2008 11:05 am ET

And now we need to see Obama's last 16 years of papers and taxes. Just to be fair…

JM, OH   March 19th, 2008 11:05 am ET

I agree 100% with "Rules are Rules". This election is too important to give to the Republicans. Say no to a 3rd Bush term with McSame.

Mike Jones   March 19th, 2008 11:06 am ET

Rick in Florida–I agree. Where are her tax returns for the last 8 years? Where is the contributers list for the Clinton library? Also release all the documents from your 8 years as 1st lady. Since you claim that as experience.

An Ohio Voter   March 19th, 2008 11:07 am ET

Please be advised, these documents are public records. They were always going to be released. I hope you Obama supporters find whatever it is you are looking for. So far as the joint tax returns for Hillary and Bill Clinton are concerned, I don't feel that they are anyone's business except the IRS's. The Obama supporters believe that they will find something to "blog about". They are running out of "rapid response" remarks that they can repeat over and over and over and over again. By the way, they are not 1040EZ's.

So far as the Clinton library records are concerned, I think you should ask Bill Clinton for those. It's his library and not Hillary's.

By the way Obama supporters, please omit the following words from your blogs: JUDGEMENT, HONESTY, LIAR, EXPERIENCE, TAX RETURNS, LIBRARY RECORDS, MONSTER, OLD, CRAP, RACIST, HOPE, CHANGE, AMERICA and OBAMA '08. Get a Life!!

Thank You…………….

Ethel   March 19th, 2008 11:07 am ET

Thank you for displaying both of my comments. All is not lost.

NONONONO OBAMA   March 19th, 2008 11:07 am ET

Shame on Obama

The only thing he can attack Hillary is to ask her to release tax return!

Come on! first,, who cares about this personal information? second, right now she has started releasing her information.

Shut up! All obama's blind and stupid supporters!

Do not forget GD America! such a scary sermon from Obama's pastor!

Obama… drop off this race. we will not give you any vote!

No Obama!

Rom,NY   March 19th, 2008 11:08 am ET

To "Rules are Rules"
I agree with you at 100%
We have a common enemy, McSame or McBush whatever you are more comfortable with
We should focus on him instead of tearing each other down
enough is enough !!

pc   March 19th, 2008 11:08 am ET

I'm wondering if the Clintons "edited" the documents before they were released. Yes indeed, what about her taxes? Why all the secrecy? America would like to know about the criminals they pardoned too.

Peg   March 19th, 2008 11:08 am ET

I browsed through 20 pages of her schedules to find out when she boarded a plane to Texas, who's party she attended…this isnt what Americans wanted to see..Hillary we are still waiting on the important documents…What are you hiding from us? Instead we get to read where you went galavanting around the world drinking tea and spending tax payers monies. I could do that too if i had the money you have…but i wouldnt call it experience!! Please!!! tax documents and earmarks, Please!!

Justin--Houston   March 19th, 2008 11:08 am ET

after reviewing partially some of her schedules.

she is a liar. i see no foreign experience what so ever. wow

puffbird   March 19th, 2008 11:09 am ET

I totally agree the Rules are Rules we dems need to quit bickering. Yes it is unfortunate that we had 3 great candidates this election but lets face it do we really want bush Jr in office? The war will never end with McCain and more innocent people will die. We need to support the party regardless of who wins.

Meagan, IA   March 19th, 2008 11:09 am ET

I agree that Obama and Hillary supporters should be more respectful, but Hillary is fighting Barack unfairly. She knows that he wants to run a clean campaign, and so she throws the kitchen sink at him.

That's why Obama supporters have to be more agressive online, because HILLARY won't fight fair.

So if she is going to run a slash-and-burn campaign, we're going to give her a hard time.

I also don't like her disloyalty to the DNC, and her loyal Democratic base.

If Hillary lightens up on Barack, we will lighten up online. So if you support Hillary ask yourself about her character, which by the way, Hillary supporters never talk about her character, instead of focussing on Barack.

margie   March 19th, 2008 11:09 am ET

I know CNN is looking for something to take the heat off Obama. Nothing will beat Rev Wrightgate.
Looks like McCain is going to be president (if Hillary is not the nominee).
Hope the superdelegates use their common sence as the rules say they should (independent thinking).
Thanks to Obama we now have a Black vs White race. Guess who will win?.

bill pike   March 19th, 2008 11:09 am ET

i want the document that shows how salaried people save $5,000,000 that can be GIVEN AWAY to the clinton campaign???? must be the same way the mayor of mexico city who made $40,000 per year bought a multi million dollar home in the U.S. GOOD FINANCIAL PLANNING

Fair and Balanced   March 19th, 2008 11:10 am ET

many democrats have historically not believed in the concept of "the media" as an agenda holder. Watching coverage here has been enough to convince me that, for a variety of reasons, the media all to often becomes a participant rather than an observer. On this topic - if there are questionable things in the record, don't bury it; if there are not, don't be silent. Do what you do - observe and comment neutrally, son't manufacture or ignore stories

Texas   March 19th, 2008 11:10 am ET

This election is a reality show….WHO CARES ABOUT HER TAXES AND DOCUMENTS?

All politicians lie…..voters just need to figure out the lesser of 3 evils at this point.

Tom Swift, Shopton   March 19th, 2008 11:10 am ET

Now… how about her tax schedules ???

What is she hiding ?

Where did the $5,000,000 gave, er… um… I mean loaned, her campaign come from?

Chris   March 19th, 2008 11:10 am ET

I am glad Hillary is doing this, now we can see all she did as First Lady and why she is more then qualified to be our next President.

I am so tired of Obama and his speech and his race issues that I will gladly pay for his plane flight back to Chicago so he can return to being an community activist. Just get him out of my sight - please.

Took my comment out on MIchigan CNN????   March 19th, 2008 11:11 am ET

Now there is going to a big deal about Hillary's schedule and tax returns. How come no one of Obama's supporters cares that Florida and Michigan will lose their vote? If the shoe were on the other foot all of you would be screaming at the top of your lungs. Shame on Obama for not agreeing to have their votes count. I thought from hes speech yesterday he wanted to be a healer and not a divider. Off to poor start Obama.

NoObamaLoveHere   March 19th, 2008 11:11 am ET

It's laughable when the Obama campaign asks for tax returns when all he's done is make public his last couple of tax returns while the Clintons have over 20 years of tax returns made public.

The Clinton team said they will be released on April 15. I see no reason why she should release them earlier just because Obama is being a whiny baby about it.

List of donors is a matter of privacy for the donors. I'm glad the Clintons have some sense of privacy for their supporters rather than releasing lists just to appease some people who think they're frauds.

Gimme a break! All this asking for taxes and donors is distracting from the real issue of the economy and the war - the issues you know that Hillary is better equipped to address, rather than Obama who will probably just make another pretty speech.

Political Jonze   March 19th, 2008 11:11 am ET

This was the least of the four requests I wanted to see. I want to see her and Bill's tax filings(see how much Dubai is paying them for influence), Clinton Library Donor Lists (selling presidential pardons), and her earmark pork requests(to see what Lobbyists she is involved with) in that order.

jeff in Alabama   March 19th, 2008 11:11 am ET

Very good. It is obvious due to the volume of the information that she has a lot of experience. She was had a much more active role than the typical first lady during her terms. Hopefully, this will put a lot of speculation to end and we can continue on to the nomination of the first woman President!

SHE LEADS   March 19th, 2008 11:11 am ET

I think it is good that we will able to see what she accomplished in the White House as First Lady.

Democrats need to rally behind Hillary, now that Barack will be vilified for the rest of the campaign by the Republicans.

Do you see why Clinton stayed in the race now?

SHE LEADS   March 19th, 2008 11:12 am ET

The right will use Wright to get McCain in the W.H.

AJ, IL   March 19th, 2008 11:12 am ET

Hmmm…the National Archives can release 11,000 documents today but Hillary can't release her joint tax returns since becoming a senator, or her congressional earmarks, or the Clinton Library donor list? What is she and Bill hiding?!?!

Paul   March 19th, 2008 11:13 am ET

Now let's see what her actual experience entailed.

therealist   March 19th, 2008 11:14 am ET

Finally! Release the hounds!!

April   March 19th, 2008 11:14 am ET

She didn't complain about Michigan and Floridia, until it was TOO late.. She was the only one on the ballot, and she wasn't supposed to be! She is not following the rules, and now she is blaming Barack. It's not going to work!!! As for this situation. YEAH WHERE ARE HERE TAXES, and why don't Clinton supporters ask valid questions? Instead they take every thing she says as 'gold'… By watching The Clinton Chronicles, a film made independently BEFORE she ran for nomination, making it obsolete as 'propaganda'… any fool would know better than to vote for any Clinton. Hillary is a liar… Or GO watch "Hillary Clinton: It's All A Lie"… made by a former Clinton Supporter!!!

Find the Truth Before you Hire another Bush to do the Job!!!

sozzi   March 19th, 2008 11:15 am ET

There will no news in these documents being released, because Hillary really didn't do anything while being a First Lady.

We need tax returns for the past 6 years. Period.

CB   March 19th, 2008 11:15 am ET

Good, maybe this will put a end to Hillary's critic's calling for proof of her experience. It a shame some of the documents have re-edits and other information crossed out. CNN says it is currently reviewing the documents and I'm sure other news agencies are too. Hopefully we will get the jist of her co-presidency years experience before the Pennslyvania primary. Eleven thousand pages huh, The Clinton's are skilled at illusions and its great the Clinton Team saw the documents first before the news agencies. I smell a Clinton ploy with the release of these pages, they don't let anything out without a calculated reason. Lou Dobbs, read those pages good buddy!

PA for Obama   March 19th, 2008 11:15 am ET

Hillary is feeling unusually confident and arrogant. Her lethal political operatives are up to something in PA. They are making sure that she wins by hook or by crook. Help America get on a healthier track by ridding us of Hillary. Invesitgate the Archives and don't limit your investigation to the boundaries set by the Clinton operatives.

steve   March 19th, 2008 11:16 am ET

Let the dumpster diving begin! I can see the media flipping through the documnets now slicing and dicing to find the dirtiest angles possible. I wouldn't be surprise if we see headlines later today or tomorrow about what HIllary's eating and shopping habits. It still amazes me how fearful the media is with a strong female candidate. The more they tried to buried her, the stronger her will and tenacity is and the more I'm convinced that this woman's got what it takes to be the next president of the United states. Hillary for President!

Political Jonze   March 19th, 2008 11:16 am ET

Hillary didn't release these out of the goodness of her heart, I believe a Conservative group has to sue for the right to have these files released from the National Archives. This is only a fraction of what they are still after.

These will show nothing, Camp Clinton will cherry-pick out dates and meetings with important people and Camp Obama will point to just what groups/lobbyists had access to the First Lady.

Chuck in Oregon   March 19th, 2008 11:16 am ET

I do not want to see her schedule, I want to see her actual foreign policy accomplishments that she has so clearly stated makes her the best qualified candidate for president. Where are the actual documents that back up her touted claims of resolving foreign national secutiry matters? Oh yes, I remember they will not be released until some time in November after the election. How convienent!! I am laughing so bad I cant continue.

slinkymalinky   March 19th, 2008 11:16 am ET

When is Hillary going to OK the release of the rest of the White House documents?

I mean, how much time does your library appointee really need to sort them out? 10 years!!

Ugh...   March 19th, 2008 11:16 am ET

Reading these posts make me sick…literally.

isaiah   March 19th, 2008 11:16 am ET

these documents wouldn't have been released without a rulling from a judge. By Senator clintons own admission, they were also screened and black lined. How can she say she is transparent and keep a straight face?

Pearl   March 19th, 2008 11:17 am ET

Shame on all Hillary haters. Democrats are in an emotional angry turmoil and I am dismayed by the hateful remarks directed at Senator Clinton.

While the haters are seeking disclosure regarding the Clintons are they also curious about who is contributing to Senator Obama's campaign fund.

suzanne from Texas   March 19th, 2008 11:18 am ET

HRC taxes are important to this election how?
I am more concerned with what type of train Obama is going to use to load all the "whiteys" on and where will the new "camps" be located at.

Jesus is LORD   March 19th, 2008 11:18 am ET

That is how it should be. Put it on the table and let me make my own opinion.

wolf   March 19th, 2008 11:18 am ET

Good now where are her tax retuns, Billies libray contributions

Maxine   March 19th, 2008 11:18 am ET

Of course anything that is HIGH SECURITY has been blacked out. So all of her peace work would fall under High Security. So foreign policy is back to where we started, not knowing the truth. But hey, if you are a Clinton you can distort the truth and the American people buy it.

She has ran a very nasty campaign and it has only given her more votes. So you get what you buy in this country.

Guido in New Jersey   March 19th, 2008 11:19 am ET

What's becoming more transparent is that Obama is just another sweet talking politician. The poll numbers are shrinking and we are learning more and more everyday exactly what Barack's all about. It's amazing how these two major issues in the Obama campaign - Rescko and now Wright are downplayed by the media. How is someone your mentor and spiritual director, you listen to his taped sermons while studying law and couldn't attend services, yet he all of a sudden doesn't agree with Wright's views? I don't trust him.

Go Hillary!!!!

Dickson Iriogbe in Tennessee   March 19th, 2008 11:19 am ET

We're getting closer to giving that old man John McCain a free ride to the White house. Democrats, the ball is in your court.

M.E.M FROM KANSAS CITY   March 19th, 2008 11:21 am ET

Hillary this a very good time for you to leave this race. Please leave with some dignity . We know you don't won't us to know what's in those Tax Returns or we would have seen them by now. HAVE SOME DIGNITY PLEASE!

MC- Atlanta,GA   March 19th, 2008 11:21 am ET

Where is Obama's record?

Thomas   March 19th, 2008 11:24 am ET

"Now we need to see how much money Obama donated to his racist church" - $26,040 in 2006, we dont know anything about the rest of the years because Obama only released ONE year 2006!

Jdona   March 19th, 2008 11:25 am ET

What is it with you people and Hillary's tax returns? Have you forgotten that both she and the President were paid MILLIONS to write their books? Yes they have money, they earned it. Is your jealousy or envy or is it just your hate filled souls and black hearts that make you scorn a couple that has devoted their lives to this country and served the people?

PAY ATTENTION!!!   March 19th, 2008 11:25 am ET

Stop putting out negative comment for Hillary CNN and posting off topic comments about Obama's pastor crap CNN post all posts if you are going to let one be off topic

March 19th, 2008 11:10 am ET
Your comment is awaiting moderation.
There has been a new report: first appearing on "Hardball" with Chris Matthews. It's been proven that Rush Lim's call for Republicans to vote for Hillary has increased HIllary's vote about 2 fold even where it has been shown she would loose.

If this is not disturbing enough for people to want to end this dragging out of the primary by Hillary I don't know what is. The Democratic Party is fractured and being attacked from within by forces who have no other reason but to sabotage the Democratice Bid for the White House. A vote for Clinton is a vote for McCain and if that isn't apparent by the action for Republicans to votes for Hillary what is?

Even now Hillary will not release the documents that would show what she is really about we don't need these types of tactics this close to choosing a candidate and we must turn a page of these type of old politics NOW!!

Kerry   March 19th, 2008 11:25 am ET

Wow, it took a lawsuit to force the Clinton's to come clean. If this information had come out early, Hillary could not have run a campaign claiming more experience - not like experience matters, when it comes to being President anyways.

But there are still 20,000 pages to *processed* and about 4,746 schedules have information removed, which means a lot of days and activities hidden.

For those still harping about Wright, get over it. The Wright controversy is actually good for Obama. It gave him an opportunity to make a great speech, but now it proves once and for all that he is a Christian and not a Muslim. As Obama said, there are a lot of angry people, from all ethnic groups, but especially in the black community, where the those with power and money, the white people, have done very little to provide better opportunity and chance for. We as American need to reach out to everybody else in America so that we can close this bitter divide.

What happened to the tax documents everyone has been asking for?
All of a sudden we have this distraction about what Hillary was doing from day to day. We know what she was doing. She was busy with "Damage Control" for her husband the President. So, now we know she was good at babysitting.
Lets see the tax documents.

KR   March 19th, 2008 11:28 am ET

Your sexism is showing when you laugh at the office of First Lady as some kind of honorary flower-arranging position. From Nancy Reagan's anti-drug program to the Bush ladies' literacy advocacy, first ladies have been integral to the presidency. All of you who would like to claim Hillary's foreign experience as bogus should listen to the PM of Ireland who says her participation was key. Yes, Obama was able to dig up a Hillary-hater to dispute that, but many others have spoken in support of her work. Obama does this to distract from the fact that he has NO foreign policy experience. I'd like to see a speech on sexism in America.

David, Gilbert Arizona   March 19th, 2008 11:28 am ET

The train wreck that has become the Democratic party just keeps on crashing.

Mike   March 19th, 2008 11:29 am ET

Rules are Rules I totally agree with you. If we want to win this election we need to stop treating each candidate as part of their own party. We are the Democratic Party. Both candidates will fight for the future of our country and will lead us farther away from our bruised and battered past than any other candidate will. I fully support Obama, but if it came down to it and Hillary was picked for the nomination I would still vote for her because I am a Democrat and both of these Democrats want to change America.

Celeste   March 19th, 2008 11:30 am ET

Black America is united like never before and that is a good thing. There is strength in unity. It is a shame they are voting for an inexperienced candidate who basically is a dreamer. If it were someone like Colin Powell, he would have my vote. However Obama? Wake up and smell the lack of experience and let's vote for a candidate that can really make a difference! It is a shame this election has turned into a race issue! Good riddance! Hillary deserves our respect and is a truly qualified candidate. Equal opportunity is a good thing, but the candidate must have what it takes to do the job and I personally feel that Obama is not that person.

Where's Clinton?

Nothing about Clinton…

Yeah, he may be inspirational, but after the Clintons and the Bushes, ol' Ralph here is in need of some inspiration.

This aint' yer grandpa's America anymore.

Get used to the new face of America. It's real. It's now.

Nancy   March 19th, 2008 11:31 am ET

After hearing Obama's speech, I will vote only for Obama.
Even if these papers show Hillary had only one year of true experience, I don't want anymore of her lies and dishonest ways.
She's ruining this country.

Steve C - Atlanta   March 19th, 2008 11:31 am ET

The documents may not find anything incriminating, but will definitely point out that the only expereince she got while first lady, was picking out the White House christmas tree - and not negotiating peace in Northern Ireleand or anything else of high level relevance.

Chris   March 19th, 2008 11:31 am ET

This is funny. Barack Obama wants Republicans to vote in the Democratic primary???

Does Barack Obama know that Republicans are strong with regard to their love of country and that, after watching Barack Obama defending his church minister who appears to have been preaching hate and what many view as ANTI-AMERICAN sentiments from the pulpit, he is unlikely to get any Republican votes. Rather, I think people, including Republicans, will vote for Hillary Clinton to keep him from having ANY chance of getting into the Oval Office.

The Republicans already cleaned up the closets of the Clintons for years. Obama still have many skeletons to show the country. The Wright fiasco, the porks for University of Chicago Hospitals, where his wife is the VP (on leave). True bonanza for the Republicans.

pennythoughts   March 19th, 2008 11:33 am ET

Can we please see Obama's schedule for the last 12 years? I'd like to understand his 130 present votes in the Illinois Senate and his mediocre record as a US Senator? And can I please see as many tax returns as you are demanding of Clinton? That will help me believe Obama is really willing to be transparent.

Eleanor   March 19th, 2008 11:33 am ET

"The wisdom of judgement" words of Senator Obama today describing the vote to go to war which by now we all know he voted against but Senator Clinton voted for pales by a twenty year vote Sunday after Sunday after Sunday of not getting up from his pew and walking from his church. Can you imagine if he deplores all that he has heard over the years the weekly explanation and confusion to his children. You know the curriculum in Sunday school if his girls attended was tilted in the same direction as the church.Yes he did not choose his grandmother but he did choose his reverand. His wisdom of judgement now scares me.

NIC   March 19th, 2008 11:34 am ET

These Clinton Haters are so funny. They should really watch their words, alot of what they say is offensive. Not to mention, if Hillary gets the nomination or wins the Presidency, there will be alot of back tracking and denial on past inappropriate comments. Reminder here, we are trying to stop the hate. The same people that say racism, sexism and ageism is a big issue, are the same people causing the hate, causing the divide. Be more thoughtful on your responses then a knee jerk reaction remarks.

Randy - Denver   March 19th, 2008 11:38 am ET

Maya - yes we know if he did or did not, he was asked about specific sermons he did not hear them (surpirse sometimes a representative/senator will miss a church service as part of their job) so he did not hear those specific sermons, he did , however, state he had heard similar speeches. Now for those of you who are calling the church racist I defy you to stand there and tell me your church has never said a racist thing. I grew up a southern baptist (as an older adult I have since converted to Catholicism) and I heard similar things, from the opposite perspective, spoken EVERY SUNDAY in those churches so do not get so holier than thou.. the fact is folks the people of Mr. Wright's generation WERE and to a large part STILL ARE racist, on both sides, so do oyu suggest we do not follow the bible and honor or fathers and mothers (who are, afterall from that generation)? Believe it or not, with the exception (apparently) of the radical right, most people can hear something spoken by a pastor and not automatically believe it is the perfect truth, most people can still respect someone without agreeing with everything they said.. where I am from we call that being an adult.. I guess that makes me one of the Obama cult? rigggggght

VSILKY   March 19th, 2008 11:38 am ET

We are so tired about hearing what people are saying about the Pastor and his remarks about Hillary and his views!!! She has on numberous occasions and still trying and I know won't stop trying to bash Obama.. You are on the same team, just different views.

Stop the hatred and just know that all people are entitled to their opinions. Just becuase something is said, doesn't mean all is in argreement..

I am so proud to be an American and with Obama heading us, I beleive we would wind up in the right direction. (CHANGE IS KEY< AND A MAJOR FACTOR for all of us). The world views he had to oppose upon us before we were even ready to deal within this at this segment of our lives (racism). This only shows us this is what is needed and people need to be able to accept us for what we are, what we know, how we do certain things and how we live. We are all products of God and some have more obstacles then others to bear…

Let him judge and make this a smart campaign!!! Let's help the people and stop the hating………

Susan, State College, PA   March 19th, 2008 11:38 am ET

I am glad some documents were released and that CNN is reviewing them. I bet you won't find anything of much interest or relevance, because these docs were released to placate the public and bolster Hillary's claim of transparency.

Let's see something of substance for a change. Not a diversion, not a smokescreen - recent tax returns would be good, donor records, if complete, would also be informative.

Hillary is so busy, though, we probably won't see any additional records released until April 23rd, at the earliest. How anyone could vote for her is beyond me.

STAN   March 19th, 2008 11:39 am ET

To Hillary supporters, can you please say something about your educational background before posting and calling Obama a lier and other insulting remarks. Example: I'm currently attending college.

Kathy   March 19th, 2008 11:39 am ET

Do you really think Hillary would care about "every vote counting" if she didn't need them so badly? She will do anything to win, and this is just the latest ploy to gain votes. I wish she would just get out and stop dividing the party; if McCain wins in November Dems can and should blame Hillary Clinton.

K   March 19th, 2008 11:39 am ET

Wow. CNN will scour documents to find anything on Clinton just to take the heat off Obama. Only Obama could sit in a church for 20 yrs with his mentor spewing anti-American and racist sermons, have him as one of his campaign spiritual advisors, and get free air time on national tv with a presidential back drop to give a 37 min speech on himself and his views and his lies. Then he and the DNC want to alienate all the voters in Michigan and Florida b/c he's scared he will lose in a revote. If McCain or Hillary did any of this stuff their political careers would be over.

Michigan and Florida will go Republican in November. Good job Democrats. You are such morons. The media is so biased they forgot how to report the news with both sides commentary. Great. 4 more years of Bush style politics. Thanks a lot. Losers.

What's the point? These documents will only demonstrate the fact that she was just the "first lady", and I use first lady lightly….. Let's see the tax records………that's the meat and potatoes of Hillary and Bill.

Gigi   March 19th, 2008 11:41 am ET

Obama supporters wouldn't be putting so much pressure on Hillary to release these documents and their tax returns if they weren't hoping to find some mud/dirt to throw around to cloud the issue about who is the better candidate. Obviously he needs something to direct attention away from the scandulous speeches of his "mentor". Neither he nor his wife and children certainly weren't faithful church goers if he was unaware of these hate filled sermons.
And, not rich, etc., with $900,000.00 on his tax return and a wife making $120,000.00 a year? Obama supporters and CNN need a reality check.

I really don't think the country needs the same old Politicians running the country with the same old policies. Rich get richer and poor get poorer. I don't know why everyone is so upset about it taking so long to get a portion of the documents that were requested to be released.. Sanitizing potentially damaging records takes ALOT of time!!! People need to understand that the Clinton library employees are working as hard as they can to get it all clean. Just be patient, you'll get the pure lilly white Clinton story as soon as it gets done soaking in censory bleach.

First of all, you can bet that only documents favorable to the Clintons were relesed. Amazing how suddenly they appeared. Bull. I'm not falling for it.
Secondly, for any caucasian person on this blog to call the Obama campaign racist is laughable if it weren't so pathetic. I'm caucasian and if it weren't for HRC, racism would have been minimal in this campaign instead of at the forefront of discusions every day.

Who gives a rat's a*s. You're not black….although, you do play one on TV.

Terry   March 19th, 2008 11:51 am ET

Let's talk truth. Anyone from Pennsylvania that should read my comment, do me a fovor, remind all your friends and family of the huge rumors and facts of the Clinton clan. There was whitewater, there was a suicide of one of their closest friends, if anyone in Pennsylvania attends a rally for her, someone in that state should be wise enough, bold enough, and interested enough to ask her what big lobbyist support her campaign, who is responsible for funding of the library and be bold enough to not settle for anything, demand names, if anyone from Pennsylvania whether you are white or black, latino, hispanic, does not raise these questions than like so many others you have actually been sucked in by the Clintons. Pennsylvaina voters deserve accuracy and truth. She has finally released some of the papers, that had to be done through court order. Pennsyvania voters, ask yourself, do you want more court appearances if the Clintons are elected.

Vong Kim   March 19th, 2008 11:52 am ET

America you came out tough once again. Yesterday when I spoke to a family member about what the latest blog in my nation was, they said America was again the smear as many rode into the capital, but this morning everything was quiet. Anonymous   March 19th, 2008 11:52 am ET

Perhaps we shall have insight as to where Bill was after browsing her schedule. Is she suggesting she was traveling alone while trying to save the world? Wasn't she chatting with Eleanor Roosevelt on these trips all the while Bill was trying to become client #10?

Has she been chatting with Eleanor Roosevelt for this 2008 campagne?
“Mrs. Clinton wrote about her imaginary conversations with Eleanor Roosevelt in her June 10 syndicated column. She said she talked to Roosevelt about the role of a first lady.” "She usually responds by telling me to buck up, or at least to grow skin as thick as a rhinoceros," Mrs. Clinton wrote.”

And the HRC imagination wishes to run this country?

She needed an entire VILLAGE to get her health care going years ago and failed. And her imagination still wishes to run this country?

Dre   March 19th, 2008 11:53 am ET

All these haters on here, Obama is trying to bring this country together. Convenient that Obama somehow LOST all of his schedules and appointments when he was in the Illinois legislature.

For the candidate calling for transparency, Obama should have not thrown his meeting records away.

But hey,it is okay to cry and whine for others to do what you will not do yourself or isn't that called hypocrisy?

My family and friends feel the same way.

Obama did not vote against the war because he was not in the Senate to place a vote. So it's very easy for him to say that he was "against" the war.

Obama has proven to me to be a liar, just like every other politician, I'm sick of the speeches, how is a speech going to put food on my table for my family? how is a speech going to give my children health care? how is a speech going to let me keep my job?

This hilarious part of this whole tax debacle is that the people crying to see tax records for the Clintons are likely the same who: (a) decry "politics as usual"; (b) know NOTHING about Obama before voting for him except he was "new" and "inspiring"; and (c) have not bothered to do the same for their local representatives, whether it be in city, state, or federal positions.

In other words, this is just another witch hunt orchestrated by the Obama camp and conducted by the Republican strategists for years and years. Ah, the irony of it all…

You Obama supporters are so rude to the Hillary supporters.
What makes you think that we would vote for Obama in the general election.
He is going need the Clinton supporters , if he wants to win.

Say What???!!   March 19th, 2008 12:02 pm ET

Interestingly, 31 pages of the REAL IMPORTANT STUFF hasn't been included, MIssing they say?! hahahaha LMAO!!

Never McCain   March 19th, 2008 12:03 pm ET

Let the games begin. You will find that Hillary's claim of 35 years of experience is just silly and stretching on dishonesty. If she were applying for a job and claimed this in her resume, she would be disqualified from applying.

NickNasc   March 19th, 2008 12:04 pm ET

TAXES AND CLINTON LIBRARY DONORS LIST OR NOTHING!!!! THIS IS A DELAYING TACTIC!! WE already know she has no real experience. Heads of STATE have come forward to out her lack of involvment in the things she claimed to have done.

CNN=Fox News   March 19th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

Thanks for your comments Clintonistas - the combination of your smugness, refusal to reach out to the other side, and sheer idiocy exactly reflects your candidate. Will be interesting to see for ourselves the paucity of Clinton's much-touted "experience."

Go Obama!

Brent FL   March 19th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

Okay, now I want ALL of Obama's documents released from the time he was a "community organizer", Illinois Senator, and part-time attorney for a political lobbyist firm in Illinois. I want to see completely transparent records of all his dealings with Tony Rezko and the Exelon Corporation. Of course it needs to include not only all meetings but also the legislation he worked on to repay Rezko and Exelon for their generous contributions to his campaigns. I'd also like to see all the records concerning Tony Rezko's fund raisers for Obama and the sweet real estate deal he engineered so Obama could afford the mansion and adjoining strip of land. Complete copies of all tax returns for at least the last 10 years, too. Let's see just how much transparency Obama is willing to reveal. (You Obama fans, just cool your jets, Hillary will be releasing her taxes by April 15 or shortly after.)

Hillary Supporter   March 19th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

CNN has been rather kind to Obama, but not quite as accommodating to Hillary. I get the sense it just may be deliberate. Obama gave a speech to justify his mentor Rev, Wright and got accalades from CNN as to a "Great Speech".. I think it falls short of seeing the bigger picture, why Oprah left this church and Obama stayed listening week after week this anti white rhetoric. I now have a better understanding as to why Obama does not wear the Flag Pin on his lapel and why he doesn't place his hand over his heart when he pledges allegiance. His way is to turn the focus from himself toward Hillary so he becomes the subtext and she the story. Nice try Obama, see ya!

GO HILL!!!!!!!   March 19th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

OK, now we all can find our what Hillary had for breakfast in 1995…YAY!

WHERE ARE OBAMA'S RECORDS FROM THE ILLINOIS STATE SENATE AND WHERE ARE HIS TAKES FOR ALL YEARS BEFORE 2006????????????????????

Mark Diplomat   March 19th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

Thank God we have an honorable candidate in Mr. Obama who has prided himself on transparency, integrity, admitting to human frailties, and now, to raising the level of race in America to a respectable, intellectual level.

He is so correct that we must move forward into the 21st century, and leave behind vicious, hateful sentiments which do nothing more than pull and tug at the American fabric of society.

Draw together, end the polarization of the Clinton campaign, and re-focus the next weeks and months on issues of critical importance to ALL of US — the sad war in Iraq, our flagging reputation in the international community, faltering economy and mortgage mess — and concentrate on what America once was, and will be, as a more "perfect union."

Godwin   March 19th, 2008 12:08 pm ET

If you think you have found the smoking gun on Obama due to his race and Rev. White, then you have not seen a thing. I say, just wait until Hillary releases her tax returns and donor records. I cannot imaging a more forceful way for the Clintons to win again than to just lay it all out and let the world see. If there isn't nothing to it, then stop acting like there is. By all means, please release the records on April 15, not April 23.

Dan, PA   March 19th, 2008 12:08 pm ET

Could Obama release the same records of his political life?

Mind you this is just a portion of Hilary's political career.

More importantly, character that simply can't be put on paper - such as strength and great resolve - is what makes me believe this woman can get us out of this mess.

TheLeftNut   March 19th, 2008 12:09 pm ET

HERE'S AN IDEA…

VOTE DEMOCRATIC!

Problem solved.

scott lymann   March 19th, 2008 12:11 pm ET

once these clowns all read it, they will say "now what"
- you people are always against the clintons, it is sad.

SHOW US THE RECORDS< SHOW US THE RECORDS then when they are released people question the timing. I am glad that all you people who throw stones are so informed.

Clowns, the lot of you.

MPM in CA   March 19th, 2008 12:11 pm ET

If you support Clinton, we have to do something about CNN's coverage. All the videos about Obama are all lop sided. They are supposed to bring one Clinton supporter and one Obama supporter but all of them seem to be supporting Obama. What the heck is going on. See it for yourselves. Listen to the ugly words they use when they refer to Clinton and listen to the wonderful words they use when they talk about Obama. It's not fair!!!
Everybody seems to be raving about his speech but to me it is nothing but a cover up of his inexperience. He has gotten a lot you fooled. I think he is nothing more than a salesman who uses words to sell his product. He is the kind of salesman that can sell the ugliest car and still come out smelling like an air freshner. But, at the end it's all fake. It just covers up the stink temporarily.
So go ahead. Let yourselves be fooled.
To me, I am still sticking to the one who I think can run this country better. Go Hillary!

Chunnie2008   March 19th, 2008 12:11 pm ET

Obama gave us Americans a commission, search your ourselves, our hearts, our souls and see if there are any evil in us, (the evil of racism. The one without sin cast the first stone. America's racist past has damaged many people white and black. Now we have a chance to vote for a decent human being, not a perfect human being, because non is perfect, but a smart, intelligent, God fearing man, a man who loves this country Fox news got hold of a few sound bites of a radical preacher, and I must agree the bites were disturbing, But do you condemn a decent man because his minister preaches a social gospel, the wayall the African American preachers preaches, is he is to to be condemned?. Before you all go ahead and throw out the baby with the bath water, investigate the pastor, see as the Senator said, all the wonderful things he as being doing for the community. If African Americans of that age group have a rage like we see on the sound bites, without seeing the entire sermon, then one must ask the question, what or whom gave them that rage. CNN, I hope you will print my comment this time.

Mary   March 19th, 2008 12:11 pm ET

I don't believe for one minute that the Democrats stand any chance of uniting. The hate that the Obama supporters have spewed forth have convinced this Democrat to NEVER give him my vote.
McCain will be the next President and that is exactly what the Dems deserve.

merfy   March 19th, 2008 12:12 pm ET

It's insane and sad what I've been reading here. A strong indication that we as Americans have a long way to go regarding race relations. I’m glad Obama put it out there. Contradictions or not, it needed to be said. Quit whining about the timing of it. Quit whining about did he fix the Wright problem. HE ISN’T REVERENAND WRIGHT! Let's move on. Quit calling his church racist. That’s just ridiculous. We should be celebrating the fact that there are two positive forces in the Democratic Party. We should be celebrating all that Obama and Hilary are doing for minorities and women - such as bringing to light that blacks in America are more than rappers, athletes and criminals. They can be successful doctors, lawyers, mayors, governors, devoted wives and husbands, etc. This gives young black children and other minority groups strong examples of wh
