Let's see those tax returns so we can follow the money……………

Jacqueline Samms   March 19th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

I just sawv the document, all 1,616 pages of it. About 1,300 pages were blank and there were a lot of private meetings with Maggie Williams….She had a lot of meetings with her.

sam   March 19th, 2008 1:25 pm ET

If people are going to believe that Hillary's records are doctored in some way, then why are all of these people pushing to have them released? If they find something questionable, the Obama lovers will jump right on it. If nothing is found, it will be because the records were "edited". It's all so convenient.

ted   March 19th, 2008 1:24 pm ET

Hillary has pushed harder for taxes to be released than Obama ever has

oh please   March 19th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

I love that Justin reviewed "20 pages" and called Sen. Clinton a liar. 8 minutes after release, 20 pages out of 11,000…what's that? Like 0.01% of the documents? Way to go Einstein!

flip-flop   March 19th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

One more point I would like to make. After Geraldine Ferrao made her controversial comment, Obama immediately came out and said her comments were divisive and ultimately forced Ferrao to resign. If Obama feels so strongly against raicsts comments, how come he could go to Wright's church for 20 years and his sermons are much provocative and divisive. He certainly made a eloquent speech about race yesterday, but he made it only after he's confronted by the media and public.

Brent FL   March 19th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

Obama, Release all your records: appointments, meetings, trips, fund raisers, all legislation you worked on. Also ALL financial records showing all campaign contributions you received including those from Rezko and Exelon. And detailed records of the fundraisers held by Rezko in his private home for you. And don't forget to include your tax returns for the last 18 years. Be sure to include donations you made to charity and name the charities. Which charity did you give your Rezko donations to? I understand you contributed $25,000 in 2006 to your racist church. How much in 2007 and how much during each year before?

Peter   March 19th, 2008 1:20 pm ET

Hey "Rules are Rules," I thought this election was about putting the best candidate in the White House, not any particular party. If the Dems put forward the third best candidate (of the remaining major party candidates), that candidate will not get my vote.

Nando, Florida   March 19th, 2008 1:17 pm ET

TAXES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

NYC, New Yorker, NY   March 19th, 2008 1:17 pm ET

Apparently Obamabots are deaf . Tax Returns will release after April 15, 2008 . After Tax. Obama should release all his taxes from all the years he was a Professional. Common obama you need tp be transparent.

Clinton/Powell'08

Erik   March 19th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

When will Obama release all of his tax returns? He only release one year so far. Hillary releases financial and tax information every year as US Senator.

What Obama really wants is to know how much Bill makes giving speaches and who he speaks to.

Tyler Collins from Ky   March 19th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

I think Obama had every right to complain… He was honest with the public, he put the cards on the table. If Hillary messed up everyone should know, just like if Obama messed up every one should know!

Megan   March 19th, 2008 1:13 pm ET

Let’s be real. Hillary cannot logically win this nomination using conventional means. Her only option now is to land a KO. She will use every Clintonian wizardry to land a KO on Obama. She hasn’t succeeded so far, and she never will. The only thing she is going to accomplish is to leave a battered and bruised Obama to fight McCain. At this moment Clinton is the best Republican.

flip-flop   March 19th, 2008 1:13 pm ET

Obama said there's no talk between his aides and Canadian official, then a week later he had to acknowledge the meeting did occur after the Canadian govt shown the document to prove that. His foreign affair adviser told our European allies not to take Obama's talk of withdrawal of our troop in Iraq seriously as they're only campaign talk. Obama last week denied he had any knowledge that his pastor made devisive, anti-American sermon. Now he said he did. All the above incidents happened within a month time. He claims he is honest and he is the new kind of politics. I think the facts and truths speak for itself.

GBB   March 19th, 2008 1:13 pm ET

Stan- re Hillary's voters on education, I'm an educated RN in NC, we haven't voted yet by the way, I have a Business degree, pursuing an MBA and may possibly go on to law school. How's that for education??? I also keep well informed as to what's going on in politics and the economy, blogs and have for 20+ years. I know fakes and empty words when I see them.

souza   March 19th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

Obama has to try and focus on issues that Hillary has no control over.
Documents are released Happy Obama?
What about the 300.000 dollars he under paid to Tony Rezko for the property he bought from him?
Why aren't we asking questions about that?

Anonymous   March 19th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

I have not seen my posting. I have aired my views of this election. This is free speech. The only way that the democrats will win the election is if Hillary is the norminee. No one in their right mind (ie) the suprdeleates wil truthfully vote for Obama. He oes not have the qualities to be a good president.

Terry   March 19th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

This is a joke; she is going to only reveal what she wants us to see. We the American people have to wake up before it is too late. Why is it that the news organizations don't release the ongoing scandals involving the Clintons this very moment? Is it because you’re waiting until they are elected into the Whitehouse or is it that they made promises to CNN to provide them first dibs on worthy news. I can't believe any coverage on the ongoing lawsuit or Bill Clintons dealings overseas. What gives? Where is the fair and balanced reporting? By the way if race is an issue I am a white male CEO of a company in New England.

Rick in Oregon   March 19th, 2008 1:11 pm ET

These people complaining about the release of so many documents need to do a little research. Hillary Clinton is not in direct control of all the papers from her tenure as first lady. The National Archives are in charge of reviewing and releasing those documents. Educate yourselves!

Also, is Obama ready to release the last 20 years of his tax returns? Because that is what is out there for Hillary and Bill Clinton. The only one that is missing so far is 2006. So Obama doesn't really have a reason to be complaining about transparency until he releases all his tax returns from his years in gov't service.

Find something real to complain about people!

Dan (TX)   March 19th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

Yep, picking out china and placemats for State dinners makes her qualified for Commander-in-Chief. Her SOCIAL ENGAGEMENTS were vital to the nation's security – NOT!

Most CEO wives have more "experience" than Hillary.

Good grief!

Cal   March 19th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

Obama is a whiner and a loser.
Nice church by the way !

Hillary go away   March 19th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Did they mention how she stole the china from the white house during clinton years?

Baida   March 19th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Very impressive experience related to food..dining and tea parties. I believe Hillary has a great experience in different food in more than 80 countries. understanding different type of foods will help in understanding foreign affairs and conflicts and international relations.

Well done and taste good Hillary.

Hill Supporter from Minnesota   March 19th, 2008 1:05 pm ET

I can't believe the Democratic Party has messed things up so much. If the voters of Florida and Michigan are disenfranchised, the Party will be viewed around the world as the most inept party ever. If cousel was involved in the decision to take away the right of the voter to vote, they should be fired from the DNC. Who in their right mind would not want full participation in this process? Get your act together and allow Florida and Michigan to vote and take responsibility for the poor decision you made to exclude voters because of the incompetence of party officials who made this stupid decision based on the states who wanted to have a greater affect on the primary process.

RT   March 19th, 2008 1:04 pm ET

From what I've read so far, she attended a lot of dinners, luncheons, flights around the country and she went to the ballet. Not much in the way of executive experience so far………..

GBB   March 19th, 2008 1:04 pm ET

These documents were in the control of the archives, not Hillary. The U.S. govt had to sign off for them to be released. I've seen enough of Hillary for 16 years to know she is intelligent, qualified and the best of all candidates to lead. Obama needs to go ahead and bow out, the racem issue to too overwhelming, most of us are not racist and we're too busy working, being parents and being regular Americans to spew anger and hate in church on Sundays, now he won't let Michigan voters be heard in a re-vote. Anyone who won't count votes is truly un-American in my opinion. Also by the way, Rev Wright gets credit for bringing Obama to Jesus 20 years ago, where was Obama's soul the 20+ years before that?

Whatever it take hillary   March 19th, 2008 1:04 pm ET

transparent? For your advantage only if your really wanna be transparent show me your TAX Hillary ……and I will believe you.

Kim   March 19th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Well by the time that someone is actually given the Democratic nomination, Clinton and Obama will have done enough work to make McCain's job easy!

"The Truth"   March 19th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

I supported Clinton and Obama but I'm very certain that if Obama win Democrat nominee, McCain will be the next President.

Sensible Cape Coral Fl   March 19th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

The whole topic of experience is dreadfully overblown (1) No one person could have acquired ALL the experience necessary to be President. (2) The present administration must have the accumulation of hundreds of years of experience and look where it has gotten us. (3) Hillary does her homework. No other candidate has a greater command of both domestic and foreign affairs than she.
(4) Now if only scared white males can get over their hang-up about smart women.

Neutral   March 19th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

The stupidity of the American people never ceases to amaze, at least 60% of US population are plain dumb and stupid. The National Archives has JURISDICTION over those records of Hillary Clinton, what can and cannot be release to the public for national security purposes. The national security of this county supersedes your right to know what are in those records.

Obama must release his records when he was a state senator, his tax records from the time he was an elected government official in Illinois all the way to the US Senate. The letters he wrote favoring deals of Rezko with the state of Illinois MUST be shown to the public.

kylef   March 19th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

Glad to know you guys think Obama is this picture perfect automaton don't let the guy be a human being for God's sake.

Cause I know your asking yourself now, thats right RON PAUL'08

Obama the true Visionary in the race   March 19th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

Just look at the documents and you will find out for yourself that Obama was right: "Experience – What experience?".

bobby   March 19th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

Can i take my vote back? I voted for Obama in the Va. primary, I feel he has lied & deceived the voters, he should be impeached from the election…

Nuwan Samaranayake   March 19th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

I am happy that this was out. We all can see what she has done and has not and I guess media will dissect and disintegrate this document completely to find everything. And Obama will find all the negetive truths about this to attack Hillary since they are more focused on finding what she has not done than what she has done. I hope at least media(specially CNN) will give us an unbiased picture since none of the regular citizens are going to spend time to read all that.

NOBAMA NO WAY!   March 19th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

AND leave it to the Obamamamas to keep posting replies, because they always have to try to get the last word in.

Whatever it take hillary   March 19th, 2008 12:58 pm ET

cherry picking again as Bush did to go to war. We need your tax please. What does it take to realese your tax for the people ready to vote for you. TAX please, TAX please, TAX please…….TAX…TAX

Anonymous   March 19th, 2008 12:58 pm ET

NOBAMA NO WAY!   March 19th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

Even Pat Buchanan said that these tax return cries are ridiculous, and won't make a bit of difference in this race. But Obama's camp doesn't have anything else to go after Clinton for, so why not go after tax returns?

CLINTON WILL PREVAIL!!!!!

Issues Please.....   March 19th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

I have so much respect for Hillary but it time for he to get out this campaign………so that we can move this country in a more postive persepective. I'm tire of this trash that been going on based on trying to dig up information to hurt each candidate.

We are not going to find out anything in those documents because the Clintons are going to let us know what they want us to know. She still haven't release her taxes or her earmarks so as long as she prolong this the longer this effects this party.

maya   March 19th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

To STAN who posted "To Hillary supporters, can you please say something about your educational background before posting and calling Obama a lier and other insulting remarks. Example: I'm currently attending college."

STAN- It's LIAR, not "lier" (sic). I could say more, but I think your comment written in your own words (ending with your proud flourish of "I'm currently attending college") says it all!!

Jerry M   March 19th, 2008 12:53 pm ET

The Obama campaign and online supporters like to claim that they are fighting a "clean" campaign and only reacting in kind to Hillary's negative attacks.

This document which-hunt suggests the complete opposite. It is obvious to me that Obama supporters are quite happy to spread a message of "guilty by innuendo", by suggesting, repeatedly, that Hillary has something to hide. Then, when she releases her White House schedule, most of them don't even read it before screaming "Now release your tax returns!!".

You never wanted a full disclosure did you? You don't like the fact that a full disclosure may reveal nothing significant, because you would prefer to stoke unfounded suspicions and sow the insideous message that Hillary has something to hide. That is dirty politics and smacks of Karl Rove.

Speculation   March 19th, 2008 12:53 pm ET

It amazes me how many of your are speculating what's in these documents. I'm supportive of a much smarter nation that does not rush to judgement without facts.

kylef   March 19th, 2008 12:51 pm ET

If Obama is in the position because he black; then Hillary is only where she is because her last name is Clinton. Please" Obama drop out for the good of the country"' so Hillary can be guaranteed the nomination. She is loosing across the board.also she is only in the race because of the electorial value of states like TX,CA. The Clintons' are NOT good people. They just had the prescence of mind not to throw their dirty laundry in our faces, like the current administration. It helps when the media is so love struck with your husband they give him a free ride. Wow kinda like Obama now, Karma does exist.

JDC   March 19th, 2008 12:49 pm ET

Hillary and Bill are holding back on the REAL dirt; just read Judicial watch news to see how the Clintons have FOUGHT to keep their incriminating records sealed up.

fred   March 19th, 2008 12:49 pm ET

LOL Next, the Obama people will want to know how many times Hillary goes to the bathroom and what kind of toliet paper she uses.

I lean more and more towards Obama with all of the negative comments because they are so petty. Realistically, as a friend, you can not control a person's thoughts or actions. You accept "friends" for who they are or you don't be their friend. How many of you are squeaky clean??? so why expect either of them to be??

Who ever you say yes to, for heaven's sake, please don't let it be JOHN MCCAIN :|

As we all know that Obama is a good person. it is a shame on some people that dont understand what black people have been thur- and that race has been and issue for many years. or thousand of years. and know that one pastor said something about the white American has been taking over the county for over thousand of years .(. know the American is hurt). come- on let be real know..as long American is talking about race/ on the upper hand it ok! but as one Pastor talk about white American it a promble..

get over yourself

Alice   March 19th, 2008 12:47 pm ET

The only thing these documents will expose is Hillary's total lack of experience and her repeated LIES about her readiness to take the helm "on day one". The docs will show she never sat in on National Security counsel meetings (if she was privy to sensitive intelligence, then Bubba must have revealed secrets to someone w/o security clearance….read CRIME), she never negotiated peace agreements….etc. Hillary's resume is bogus…..THAT's what the documents will reveal!!

bond   March 19th, 2008 12:47 pm ET

Um yeah she was a wife. Apparently not a very good one since she couldn't keep her man happy.

Edd   March 19th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

Move on People! HILLARY is credible and clean! Unlike Obama who will forever be haunted by his illegal dealings with Rezco! And of course, the ghost of J. Wright! I can't believe people are still voting for this amateur candidate. Can't believe it!!! What's wrong with you Obama supporters?

Mervin Morgan Jr.   March 19th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

Can someone/anyone give solid evidence for Rev Wright being a racist? Please quote one line from his sermons that deems him a racist. That is an inflammatory thing to call someone with no proof of such and the word shouldn't just be flying around the way it has been. It's completely irresponsible and unfair.

Noel   March 19th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

Can you say REDACTIONS, this should be entertaining. I wonder if there will be any trips to the cigar shop on her schedule.

John   March 19th, 2008 12:44 pm ET

Don't expect much in the release of documents….the good stuff will likely be redacted or was never submitted to the archives in the first place….any bureaucrat knows how to cover hers/his trails…especially one as "experienced" as Hillary

Wisconsin   March 19th, 2008 12:43 pm ET

Sorry for the double post. CNN was not showing the first one.

Lisa   March 19th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

Well, this takes away obama's last string, because when she blew him out before the pundit and cnn, said this was his only wedge and the only thing to (hit) her with. so i say go hillary and for the re-vote well regardless of the out-come every one has that right. and if they continue faltering on hillary for trying to keep our country together i say vote for mccain,

Marian   March 19th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

Obama doesn't want a revote because Obama can't win there. That simple. Obama is just like other politicians–whatever it takes to win.

Ted in Chicago   March 19th, 2008 12:40 pm ET

Hillary

Mine just dissapeared and they were mild compared to Obama supporters

CNN is playing games – big time

Like when a story is negative on BO – the comments close faster then when the blogging is anti Clinton

Watch for it – not just Hillary – but she is right on the money

Rick   March 19th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

Cnn has been letting Hillary off the hook and have drop talking about the Clintons releaseing ther tax records. I bet that if she would have released the before the Ohio and Texas primaries she would have not won those states. What are they hideing . Why has CNN stop asking Hillary to release them. They where broke when they left the whitehouse due to all there legal battles . Now she is the Senator of New York and purchased a large home . now she can afford to loan her campaign 5 million dollars. Bill has mantioned that they have done well with all there overseas investments. I think Ohio should have pushed for the Clinton to release there tax records before they voted I bet a lot of these investment where from US companies now overseas and a lot of jobs lost here in the US.

Hillary is pushing for a revote in Florida in Michicgan. if Obame won those states would Hillary be asking for a revote. Hillaty would say and do anything to win .

Hillary should be useing all this coverage that she was complaing she was not getting and talk about the issues.

No revote in florida . Florida has become the joke of the elctions every year.give us a break. No revote in Florida or Michicgan Hillary needs to move on and get on with the issues . If Obama won Michgan And Florida Hillary would not be asking for a revote.

TIM IN SACRAMENTO, CA   March 19th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

It looks like to me that Hillary (Billary) is still trying to forsake all the rules put in place. She still denies the fact that Michigan and Florida made the conscious decision to move up their primaries which eventually led to the dienfranchisment of their voters. Now that she is behind and the prospect of the two "wins" in these two states she is pushing to break the DNC rules and undermine democracy to get the nomination. I agree that something should be done. But in a fair way. Obama is trying to make the playing field fair and Hillary is still trying to cheat her way there. She claims not to have any invovlement in the dirty politics that have plagued Obama recently but if you read her Memo to the state of michigan that is all it is is dirty smear politics. Obama consistantly takes the high road and tries to make things fair and keep on the issues while The Hillary camp is constantly feeding the press negativity about obama.

Now, to get to the topic at hand, let's see what CNN and the others find in these release documents. I bet you these don't contain the questionable information we are looking for but we'll see…

Do you actually think the Clinton Haters care?! NO they dont, they will stop at nothing! First they were upset that there were no records available (hiding). Then they got upset at the timing of the records released (too slow). Whats new Clinton Haters?! Let me guess, what will upset you next? Will you get upset that the records were mailed in a small yellow envelop, rather you wanted a big red envelop instead. Maybe you be upset if was sent via UPS and not by FedX instead. What is it about you Clinton Haters that you take things to the very depths of your core that you will die with this preconsived notions that Hillary=devil and Barack=Prophet.

Hillary Supporter   March 19th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

To Mark Diplomat, You sound like someone who actually believes Obama's the new hope. Afraid not. This is a serious problem he has attending a church with anti-American speeches while a contender for the White-house sat there every week with his children. I find that troubling.
Truth be known, black were given the OK to vote in the 1800's', woman were given their right in the 1900's. Guess who really has been the abused part of this culture? You got it, Woman!
Obama is yet another man seeking office. For over 200 yrs. that is what we have. I think after all you anti Hillary folks think about it, a woman has more then earned the right, especially this election. Go Hillary!!

Good. Hillary will now show the many people she has met with and all she had done and thus, why she is better qualified than Obama.

Let see, does Obama have any foreign gov't travels other than the one that resulted in the turban picture? Probably not. The diaper was on the wrong end if you ask me.

Also, the list of all the people from the "Lippo Group" that gave cash to Al Gore and the Clinton's over the eight years they were in office.

Hillary did not release these documents for fear of looking LIKE A FOOL!! It took a LAWSUIT!! SHE IS NOT FIT TO BE PRESIDENT!!

I will vote INDEPENDENT before I VOTE FOR BILLARY!!

Matthew   March 19th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

I can't believe that the Democrats, after the worst presidency in U.S. history, are squandering away this election. The GOP did the right thing in nominating McCain; at least he's acceptable to moderates like myself.

MG   March 19th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

Interesting that it took a law suit to get the Clinton's to release them. Too bad for Americans that these are not the full records.

Mir   March 19th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

Please, over 20 years of her tax returns are available. Please stop whining about the 1 year that hasn't been made available BEFORE APRIL 15!

Hillary is so transparent she is liks saran wrap
Cafferty is a fool

margie   March 19th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

latest news on the papers………..Boring. So far nothing. Did you all know that Hillary actually took commercial flights as first lady??. What a waste of tax payers money. YES we are paying for all the records.
So now I want to see Obama's records. I want to see if he had meetings with anti american people…..oh yes he did every Sunday.
I guess I better get used to President John McCain since Obama can never be president.

Maggie   March 19th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

Maya yes he said maybe he was not there ,you say .he did not go to church because of being in the Senate, yet he did not do anything about the Afghan war he was to busy running for president to worry about the troops over there

Michael   March 19th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

So, how many late night hours, staff and bottles of WhiteOut and paper shredders?? I'd say if it's released – it's been "taken care of".

People – the Clintons are NOT honest. Check out newsarchives about Norman Hsu, Vince Foster, etc. Don't trust the news, do your own research.

records?   March 19th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

Oh, and btw ALL First Ladies have their documents are released. Just log on and look. Stoopid.

Mary, Wisconsin   March 19th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

I like how the Obama campaign tries to make the Clintons look so bad and like they hide everything. Well look here Obama camp — THE CLINTONS ARE GOOD PEOPLE. They arn't private and dirty like you think. GO HILLARY 2008!!! WE HAVE HUGE LEADS IN PENNSYLVANIA!!!!

Sameer   March 19th, 2008 12:20 pm ET

Democratic party must be cursing the day it gave Obama the ticket. He has brought misery to the party that I don't think I have seen in my entire life. All this talk of hope, change and uniting the country and look what he did to his own party, he divided the party and the country as never seen before. Shame on you Obama, drop out now and let the party begin its healing process because under you this party will see its end.

Joanne   March 19th, 2008 12:19 pm ET

Where are OBAMAS documents. Tax returns…..Rezko. first 60k 250k how much did you keep……………house bargain…………..what favors did you have to make ……………………no one gives 250k and not ask for favors

We demand to see all SAINT OBAMA

Denise   March 19th, 2008 12:18 pm ET

I am thankful that Senator Clinton has released her documents. When you are a public official, you have no choice. This was not Senator Obama's fault. This lawsuit comes from an organization who went after her during the whitewater scandal for full disclosure. This originated because of the Bill Clinton's library.

missouri   March 19th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

This is truly pathetic! And we wonder why our country is so screwed up. I mean really, are you people actually looking at what you are posting? When Obama can provide his schedules and as many tax returns as the Clintons have on file, then and only then do they have room to complain. To the people saying the Clintons made this about race, who are you kidding. All the media outlets have been polling and showing results based on race and gender. Just the mere fact that Obama is the first true black contender and Clinton the first true female contender brings this issue to the mix, whether people want to admit it or not. Someone wanting to know the education level of Clinton supporters… what does that matter? It doesn't take a college education to understand the issues or draw an opinion of someone's character. Everyone will choose their candidate based on their own reasons. It is truly shameful to see people making such ridiculous and childish posts. Democrats and/or Independents need to stick together regardless of which is the nominee if this country is to be turned around.

A. Harrison   March 19th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

After this, her taxes, their daily diet, Chelseas birth certificate, what esle do you need?

Hillary 2008!

Wow!   March 19th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

I just went to the archives and picked a year, it took 158 pages just to get through one month! and 2700 pages to get through one year! Sheesh! I was bored by February. Also a bit unnerved. I don't think I could ever be in a position where everyone knew what I was doing, when and who I met with. Having every moment of your day scheduled has to suck. Better them than me.

Hillary Supporter   March 19th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

CNN where is my posting? Everyone I write is held in moderation while similar ones are posted after mine. I think freedom of speech, last I checked was a constitutional right. Isn't that correct? Please post both of mine, as I do check back and again and noticed a pattern here.Discrimination is the word I had in mind

Please refer to the comment policy regarding questions about comment deletion. Thank you.

I agree, now we can see where her leadership is from . However, I am sure only favorable documents will be revealed and exactly why aren't her taxes being released before the PA primary? What I do not understand is how she can get away with amking a statement that she agrred to the DNC rules of MI and FL not being counted now, however, she has conveniently changed her mind. Too bad she didn't change her mind abt the war in Iraq-that one vote would have made a difference to me-Mrs Clinton! Also, Mrs Clinton-or Hillary Rodham Clinton, whatever your name is, please don't talk abt the loss of manufacturing jobs, and jobs leaving the US-your husband signed for NAFTA!!!!!!!!!

merfy   March 19th, 2008 12:12 pm ET

It's insane and sad what I've been reading here. A strong indication that we as Americans have a long way to go regarding race relations. I’m glad Obama put it out there. Contradictions or not, it needed to be said. Quit whining about the timing of it. Quit whining about did he fix the Wright problem. HE ISN’T REVERENAND WRIGHT! Let's move on. Quit calling his church racist. That’s just ridiculous. We should be celebrating the fact that there are two positive forces in the Democratic Party. We should be celebrating all that Obama and Hilary are doing for minorities and women – such as bringing to light that blacks in America are more than rappers, athletes and criminals. They can be successful doctors, lawyers, mayors, governors, devoted wives and husbands, etc. This gives young black children and other minority groups strong examples of what they can become. It's a refreshing change to see that on television now more than ever. It's amazing how influenced many of you are by the media. I'm so sick of black this, white that, latino this, etc. I challenge them (the media) to keep race out of politics for at least 72 hours. Then maybe we could all focus on the issues. It'll never happen though. It's obviously too good for ratings. The bottom line is always the dollar isn't it? Also, CNN – QUIT CALLING IT "THE RACE SPEECH “. You get the idea don’t you…? ONCE AGAIN IT'S THE MEDIA feeding the race frenzy and causing further division. Why not refer to it as “The Union speech" or simply use the title "A More Perfect Union." Is it really that hard?

Mary   March 19th, 2008 12:11 pm ET

I don't believe for one minute that the Democrats stand any chance of uniting. The hate that the Obama supporters have spewed forth have convinced this Democrat to NEVER give him my vote.
McCain will be the next President and that is exactly what the Dems deserve.

Chunnie2008   March 19th, 2008 12:11 pm ET

Obama gave us Americans a commission, search your ourselves, our hearts, our souls and see if there are any evil in us, (the evil of racism. The one without sin cast the first stone. America's racist past has damaged many people white and black. Now we have a chance to vote for a decent human being, not a perfect human being, because non is perfect, but a smart, intelligent, God fearing man, a man who loves this country Fox news got hold of a few sound bites of a radical preacher, and I must agree the bites were disturbing, But do you condemn a decent man because his minister preaches a social gospel, the wayall the African American preachers preaches, is he is to to be condemned?. Before you all go ahead and throw out the baby with the bath water, investigate the pastor, see as the Senator said, all the wonderful things he as being doing for the community. If African Americans of that age group have a rage like we see on the sound bites, without seeing the entire sermon, then one must ask the question, what or whom gave them that rage. CNN, I hope you will print my comment this time.

MPM in CA   March 19th, 2008 12:11 pm ET

If you support Clinton, we have to do something about CNN's coverage. All the videos about Obama are all lop sided. They are supposed to bring one Clinton supporter and one Obama supporter but all of them seem to be supporting Obama. What the heck is going on. See it for yourselves. Listen to the ugly words they use when they refer to Clinton and listen to the wonderful words they use when they talk about Obama. It's not fair!!!
Everybody seems to be raving about his speech but to me it is nothing but a cover up of his inexperience. He has gotten a lot you fooled. I think he is nothing more than a salesman who uses words to sell his product. He is the kind of salesman that can sell the ugliest car and still come out smelling like an air freshner. But, at the end it's all fake. It just covers up the stink temporarily.
So go ahead. Let yourselves be fooled.
To me, I am still sticking to the one who I think can run this country better. Go Hillary!

Dan, PA   March 19th, 2008 12:08 pm ET

Could Obama release the same records of his political life?

Mind you this is just a portion of Hilary's political career.

More importantly, character that simply can't be put on paper – such as strength and great resolve – is what makes me believe this woman can get us out of this mess.

Godwin   March 19th, 2008 12:08 pm ET

If you think you have found the smoking gun on Obama due to his race and Rev. White, then you have not seen a thing. I say, just wait until Hillary releases her tax returns and donor records. I cannot imaging a more forceful way for the Clintons to win again than to just lay it all out and let the world see. If there isn't nothing to it, then stop acting like there is. By all means, please release the records on April 15, not April 23.

Mark Diplomat   March 19th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

Thank God we have an honorable candidate in Mr. Obama who has prided himself on transparency, integrity, admitting to human frailties, and now, to raising the level of race in America to a respectable, intellectual level.

He is so correct that we must move forward into the 21st century, and leave behind vicious, hateful sentiments which do nothing more than pull and tug at the American fabric of society.

Draw together, end the polarization of the Clinton campaign, and re-focus the next weeks and months on issues of critical importance to ALL of US — the sad war in Iraq, our flagging reputation in the international community, faltering economy and mortgage mess — and concentrate on what America once was, and will be, as a more "perfect union."

GO HILL!!!!!!!   March 19th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

OK, now we all can find our what Hillary had for breakfast in 1995…YAY!

WHERE ARE OBAMA'S RECORDS FROM THE ILLINOIS STATE SENATE AND WHERE ARE HIS TAKES FOR ALL YEARS BEFORE 2006????????????????????

Hillary Supporter   March 19th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

CNN has been rather kind to Obama, but not quite as accommodating to Hillary. I get the sense it just may be deliberate. Obama gave a speech to justify his mentor Rev, Wright and got accalades from CNN as to a "Great Speech".. I think it falls short of seeing the bigger picture, why Oprah left this church and Obama stayed listening week after week this anti white rhetoric. I now have a better understanding as to why Obama does not wear the Flag Pin on his lapel and why he doesn't place his hand over his heart when he pledges allegiance. His way is to turn the focus from himself toward Hillary so he becomes the subtext and she the story. Nice try Obama, see ya!

Brent FL   March 19th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

Okay, now I want ALL of Obama's documents released from the time he was a "community organizer", Illinois Senator, and part-time attorney for a political lobbyist firm in Illinois. I want to see completely transparent records of all his dealings with Tony Rezko and the Exelon Corporation. Of course it needs to include not only all meetings but also the legislation he worked on to repay Rezko and Exelon for their generous contributions to his campaigns. I'd also like to see all the records concerning Tony Rezko's fund raisers for Obama and the sweet real estate deal he engineered so Obama could afford the mansion and adjoining strip of land. Complete copies of all tax returns for at least the last 10 years, too. Let's see just how much transparency Obama is willing to reveal. (You Obama fans, just cool your jets, Hillary will be releasing her taxes by April 15 or shortly after.)

CNN=Fox News   March 19th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

Thanks for your comments Clintonistas – the combination of your smugness, refusal to reach out to the other side, and sheer idiocy exactly reflects your candidate. Will be interesting to see for ourselves the paucity of Clinton's much-touted "experience."

Go Obama!

NickNasc   March 19th, 2008 12:04 pm ET

TAXES AND CLINTON LIBRARY DONORS LIST OR NOTHING!!!! THIS IS A DELAYING TACTIC!! WE already know she has no real experience. Heads of STATE have come forward to out her lack of involvment in the things she claimed to have done.

Never McCain   March 19th, 2008 12:03 pm ET

Let the games begin. You will find that Hillary's claim of 35 years of experience is just silly and stretching on dishonesty. If she were applying for a job and claimed this in her resume, she would be disqualified from applying.

Say What???!!   March 19th, 2008 12:02 pm ET

Kenneth   March 19th, 2008 12:02 pm ET

To Lisa-Oklahoma (comments above): HRC is being asked to release her 2006 taxes. We know the 2007 taxes are not due until 4/15/08, but folks want to see the 2006 taxes. I hope this helps.

Charles (California USA)   March 19th, 2008 12:02 pm ET

I hope that CNN will report all the positive things from the report instead of just looking for items that would have a negative effect on Hillary's nomination bid.

Fat chance of that happening – right guys?

Emily in Illinois   March 19th, 2008 12:01 pm ET

IF the November election comes down to a choice between McCain and Clinton, at this point, I would choose McCain, and I'm a Democrat! She does not have the integrity an honesty that McCain or Obama does.

Brian   March 19th, 2008 12:01 pm ET

You nailed it, Rex. I am also caucasian and my skin crawls everytime I hear Hillary speak, now. I am also tired of the media continuing to claim that Obama has the support of blacks in this country. Believe it or not, Hillary fans, he has many white supporters as well. We are fed up with her style of divisive politics and want a candidate who can pull us together as a people. My candidate just so happens to be black.

He attack her about her taxes. He wants americans to forget the comments of his church that hates americans and whites, avery childish behave.I listen to hillary and really you feel that she cares about America.Obama move on and speak clearly because you are hiding behind stupid issues and is you ,your wife and your pastor that your are the dividers.

Jason   March 19th, 2008 11:57 am ET

This hilarious part of this whole tax debacle is that the people crying to see tax records for the Clintons are likely the same who: (a) decry "politics as usual"; (b) know NOTHING about Obama before voting for him except he was "new" and "inspiring"; and (c) have not bothered to do the same for their local representatives, whether it be in city, state, or federal positions.

In other words, this is just another witch hunt orchestrated by the Obama camp and conducted by the Republican strategists for years and years. Ah, the irony of it all…

Allen   March 19th, 2008 11:56 am ET

Obama did not vote against the war because he was not in the Senate to place a vote. So it's very easy for him to say that he was "against" the war.

Obama has proven to me to be a liar, just like every other politician, I'm sick of the speeches, how is a speech going to put food on my table for my family? how is a speech going to give my children health care? how is a speech going to let me keep my job?

Houston, Texas   March 19th, 2008 11:55 am ET

Where are her tax returns?

I'm a Republican who voted for Obama and will continue to vote for Obama in November.

My family and friends feel the same way.

Convenient that Obama somehow LOST all of his schedules and appointments when he was in the Illinois legislature.

For the candidate calling for transparency, Obama should have not thrown his meeting records away.

Hillary should release her paper and tax returns because if it was Obama the media would be on Obama about his tax returns and white house papers. Hillary is not to be trusted. Hillaary is maken the demoncrate party look bad because she praise McCain on his experience over another demoncrate candidate.

Anonymous   March 19th, 2008 11:52 am ET

Perhaps we shall have insight as to where Bill was after browsing her schedule. Is she suggesting she was traveling alone while trying to save the world? Wasn't she chatting with Eleanor Roosevelt on these trips all the while Bill was trying to become client #10?

Has she been chatting with Eleanor Roosevelt for this 2008 campagne?
“Mrs. Clinton wrote about her imaginary conversations with Eleanor Roosevelt in her June 10 syndicated column. She said she talked to Roosevelt about the role of a first lady.” "She usually responds by telling me to buck up, or at least to grow skin as thick as a rhinoceros," Mrs. Clinton wrote.”

And the HRC imagination wishes to run this country?

She needed an entire VILLAGE to get her health care going years ago and failed. And her imagination still wishes to run this country?

America you came out tough once again. Yesterday when I spoke to a family member about what the latest blog in my nation was, they said America was again the smear as many rode into the capital, but this morning everything was quiet. Your political candidate threw in another victory for the sanctity of america, maybe instead of a divided station you can be a united Nation. All the best, Good luck, I am pulling for you.

Let's talk truth. Anyone from Pennsylvania that should read my comment, do me a fovor, remind all your friends and family of the huge rumors and facts of the Clinton clan. There was whitewater, there was a suicide of one of their closest friends, if anyone in Pennsylvania attends a rally for her, someone in that state should be wise enough, bold enough, and interested enough to ask her what big lobbyist support her campaign, who is responsible for funding of the library and be bold enough to not settle for anything, demand names, if anyone from Pennsylvania whether you are white or black, latino, hispanic, does not raise these questions than like so many others you have actually been sucked in by the Clintons. Pennsylvaina voters deserve accuracy and truth. She has finally released some of the papers, that had to be done through court order. Pennsyvania voters, ask yourself, do you want more court appearances if the Clintons are elected.

People need to understand that the Clinton library employees are working as hard as they can to get it all clean. Just be patient, you'll get the pure lilly white Clinton story as soon as it gets done soaking in censory bleach.

Dale   March 19th, 2008 11:45 am ET

well I hope this may be another nail in the coffin of the Church of Clinton Cult. the remaining nails are the phone records and the tax records that she won't release.

mohamed   March 19th, 2008 11:45 am ET

100 % your right Brother Well i guess we now know how to get information from the Clinton Campaign, file a lawsuit… reminds me of the bush whitehouse

Former Obama supporter   March 19th, 2008 11:44 am ET

iIf fascinating how CNN is reviewing the documents not to prove her experience, but to discredit her. Everyone knows they will do anything to help their precious Obama.

PT   March 19th, 2008 11:43 am ET

Mr. Chris–Obama would not have to speak on race if people such as yourself would leave it alone!!! He is a very good candidate! He has my vote. May the best person win–My wish is that our next president be of the Democratic Party. If not, we're doomed………….

Tom,des moines   March 19th, 2008 11:42 am ET

I truly hope Obama and his supporter will finally shut up once and for all. about her taxes she will b releasing on 4-15-08.

Mike M. Majmundar   March 19th, 2008 11:42 am ET

I agree with PA for Obama. Hillary will do anything to win Pennsylvania. I hope her Tax Returns are released before the PA Primary and whole lot of garbage is found. I really don't think the country needs the same old Politicians running the country with the same old policies. Rich get richer and poor get poorer. The country will need to make a 180 degree turn to gain some respect in the world.

Kevin, Louisville, Ky   March 19th, 2008 11:42 am ET

If George Bush can win the WH, then any monkey can!!

This election presents the US an opportunity to change the world's view about it and heal itself.

Barack in his speech threw the gaunlet to the American pple ..prove to the world that you are worthy of a higher standard!!

The State of the Union is crumbling and the whole world sees it ….China is rising and the Mideast is growing ,,,Africa and South America does not care about the US policies again, they got Asians investors…..

America has a change to heal itself or chose the direction of the Roman empire when the barbarians threatened and its currency was worthless and ,,,,,,,,,

The choice is yours …. Barack, Hillary or McCain ….

God guide you all !!

eric barthel   March 19th, 2008 11:41 am ET

canada to be honest Hillary clinton she's hiding something we will find out soon or later

Gigi   March 19th, 2008 11:41 am ET

Obama supporters wouldn't be putting so much pressure on Hillary to release these documents and their tax returns if they weren't hoping to find some mud/dirt to throw around to cloud the issue about who is the better candidate. Obviously he needs something to direct attention away from the scandulous speeches of his "mentor". Neither he nor his wife and children certainly weren't faithful church goers if he was unaware of these hate filled sermons.
And, not rich, etc., with $900,000.00 on his tax return and a wife making $120,000.00 a year? Obama supporters and CNN need a reality check.

Michael "C" in Lorton, Virginia   March 19th, 2008 11:41 am ET

What's the point? These documents will only demonstrate the fact that she was just the "first lady", and I use first lady lightly….. Let's see the tax records………that's the meat and potatoes of Hillary and Bill.

SNP   March 19th, 2008 11:40 am ET

what are in those 27 days that have been withheld? And when will they be released…why not now?

gary   March 19th, 2008 11:40 am ET

HRC is releasing all of her documents ,how about Obama. He is always slamming her ,what does he have hes hiding from the country.Iam sure he has alot of corruptions ,that he isnt telling anybody. He is a slick operator. He isnt going to ruin his chances in this race telling us the truth. He has already lied saying he never heard anti-american sermons.Than in a speech he admitts he has ,but talks his way around it like he always does.He got caught lying that is why he did this speech.Give me a break. He can smooth talk these voters and supporters ,and he knows it.Everynight I quarnetee he laughs behind your backs.I wouldnt trust my life in his hands no more than the whole countrie's.America better wake up before its to late. Operations Chaos is WORKING!

Down with the Democrats!

K   March 19th, 2008 11:39 am ET

Wow. CNN will scour documents to find anything on Clinton just to take the heat off Obama. Only Obama could sit in a church for 20 yrs with his mentor spewing anti-American and racist sermons, have him as one of his campaign spiritual advisors, and get free air time on national tv with a presidential back drop to give a 37 min speech on himself and his views and his lies. Then he and the DNC want to alienate all the voters in Michigan and Florida b/c he's scared he will lose in a revote. If McCain or Hillary did any of this stuff their political careers would be over.

Michigan and Florida will go Republican in November. Good job Democrats. You are such morons. The media is so biased they forgot how to report the news with both sides commentary. Great. 4 more years of Bush style politics. Thanks a lot. Losers.

Kathy   March 19th, 2008 11:39 am ET

Do you really think Hillary would care about "every vote counting" if she didn't need them so badly? She will do anything to win, and this is just the latest ploy to gain votes. I wish she would just get out and stop dividing the party; if McCain wins in November Dems can and should blame Hillary Clinton.

STAN   March 19th, 2008 11:39 am ET

To Hillary supporters, can you please say something about your educational background before posting and calling Obama a lier and other insulting remarks. Example: I'm currently attending college.

Susan, State College, PA   March 19th, 2008 11:38 am ET

I am glad some documents were released and that CNN is reviewing them. I bet you won't find anything of much interest or relevance, because these docs were released to placate the public and bolster Hillary's claim of transparency.

Let's see something of substance for a change. Not a diversion, not a smokescreen – recent tax returns would be good, donor records, if complete, would also be informative.

Hillary is so busy, though, we probably won't see any additional records released until April 23rd, at the earliest. How anyone could vote for her is beyond me.

VSILKY   March 19th, 2008 11:38 am ET

We are so tired about hearing what people are saying about the Pastor and his remarks about Hillary and his views!!! She has on numberous occasions and still trying and I know won't stop trying to bash Obama.. You are on the same team, just different views.

Stop the hatred and just know that all people are entitled to their opinions. Just becuase something is said, doesn't mean all is in argreement..

I am so proud to be an American and with Obama heading us, I beleive we would wind up in the right direction. (CHANGE IS KEY< AND A MAJOR FACTOR for all of us). The world views he had to oppose upon us before we were even ready to deal within this at this segment of our lives (racism). This only shows us this is what is needed and people need to be able to accept us for what we are, what we know, how we do certain things and how we live. We are all products of God and some have more obstacles then others to bear…

Let him judge and make this a smart campaign!!! Let's help the people and stop the hating………

Randy - Denver   March 19th, 2008 11:38 am ET

Maya – yes we know if he did or did not, he was asked about specific sermons he did not hear them (surpirse sometimes a representative/senator will miss a church service as part of their job) so he did not hear those specific sermons, he did , however, state he had heard similar speeches. Now for those of you who are calling the church racist I defy you to stand there and tell me your church has never said a racist thing. I grew up a southern baptist (as an older adult I have since converted to Catholicism) and I heard similar things, from the opposite perspective, spoken EVERY SUNDAY in those churches so do not get so holier than thou.. the fact is folks the people of Mr. Wright's generation WERE and to a large part STILL ARE racist, on both sides, so do oyu suggest we do not follow the bible and honor or fathers and mothers (who are, afterall from that generation)? Believe it or not, with the exception (apparently) of the radical right, most people can hear something spoken by a pastor and not automatically believe it is the perfect truth, most people can still respect someone without agreeing with everything they said.. where I am from we call that being an adult.. I guess that makes me one of the Obama cult? rigggggght

We learn to forgive and forget. Slavery was not nice and yet we live together, fight together and in some cases die together.

America is greater than the sum of it's parts. \

NIC   March 19th, 2008 11:34 am ET

These Clinton Haters are so funny. They should really watch their words, alot of what they say is offensive. Not to mention, if Hillary gets the nomination or wins the Presidency, there will be alot of back tracking and denial on past inappropriate comments. Reminder here, we are trying to stop the hate. The same people that say racism, sexism and ageism is a big issue, are the same people causing the hate, causing the divide. Be more thoughtful on your responses then a knee jerk reaction remarks.

Eleanor   March 19th, 2008 11:33 am ET

"The wisdom of judgement" words of Senator Obama today describing the vote to go to war which by now we all know he voted against but Senator Clinton voted for pales by a twenty year vote Sunday after Sunday after Sunday of not getting up from his pew and walking from his church. Can you imagine if he deplores all that he has heard over the years the weekly explanation and confusion to his children. You know the curriculum in Sunday school if his girls attended was tilted in the same direction as the church.Yes he did not choose his grandmother but he did choose his reverand. His wisdom of judgement now scares me.

pennythoughts   March 19th, 2008 11:33 am ET

Can we please see Obama's schedule for the last 12 years? I'd like to understand his 130 present votes in the Illinois Senate and his mediocre record as a US Senator? And can I please see as many tax returns as you are demanding of Clinton? That will help me believe Obama is really willing to be transparent.

L. Tran, TX   March 19th, 2008 11:33 am ET

The Republicans already cleaned up the closets of the Clintons for years. Obama still have many skeletons to show the country. The Wright fiasco, the porks for University of Chicago Hospitals, where his wife is the VP (on leave). True bonanza for the Republicans.

Steve C - Atlanta   March 19th, 2008 11:32 am ET

The documents may not find anything incriminating, but will definitely point out that the only expereince she got while first lady, was picking out the White House christmas tree – and not negotiating peace in Northern Ireleand or anything else of high level relevance.

gb   March 19th, 2008 11:32 am ET

Chris   March 19th, 2008 11:31 am ET

This is funny. Barack Obama wants Republicans to vote in the Democratic primary???

Does Barack Obama know that Republicans are strong with regard to their love of country and that, after watching Barack Obama defending his church minister who appears to have been preaching hate and what many view as ANTI-AMERICAN sentiments from the pulpit, he is unlikely to get any Republican votes. Rather, I think people, including Republicans, will vote for Hillary Clinton to keep him from having ANY chance of getting into the Oval Office.

Steve C - Atlanta   March 19th, 2008 11:31 am ET

She's ruining this country.

Black America is united like never before and that is a good thing. There is strength in unity. It is a shame they are voting for an inexperienced candidate who basically is a dreamer. If it were someone like Colin Powell, he would have my vote. However Obama? Wake up and smell the lack of experience and let's vote for a candidate that can really make a difference! It is a shame this election has turned into a race issue! Good riddance! Hillary deserves our respect and is a truly qualified candidate. Equal opportunity is a good thing, but the candidate must have what it takes to do the job and I personally feel that Obama is not that person.

Mike   March 19th, 2008 11:29 am ET

Rules are Rules I totally agree with you. If we want to win this election we need to stop treating each candidate as part of their own party. We are the Democratic Party. Both candidates will fight for the future of our country and will lead us farther away from our bruised and battered past than any other candidate will. I fully support Obama, but if it came down to it and Hillary was picked for the nomination I would still vote for her because I am a Democrat and both of these Democrats want to change America.

David, Gilbert Arizona   March 19th, 2008 11:28 am ET

KR   March 19th, 2008 11:28 am ET

Your sexism is showing when you laugh at the office of First Lady as some kind of honorary flower-arranging position. From Nancy Reagan's anti-drug program to the Bush ladies' literacy advocacy, first ladies have been integral to the presidency. All of you who would like to claim Hillary's foreign experience as bogus should listen to the PM of Ireland who says her participation was key. Yes, Obama was able to dig up a Hillary-hater to dispute that, but many others have spoken in support of her work. Obama does this to distract from the fact that he has NO foreign policy experience. I'd like to see a speech on sexism in America.

lip   March 19th, 2008 11:27 am ET

What happened to the tax documents everyone has been asking for?
All of a sudden we have this distraction about what Hillary was doing from day to day. We know what she was doing. She was busy with "Damage Control" for her husband the President. So, now we know she was good at babysitting.
Lets see the tax documents.

Kerry   March 19th, 2008 11:25 am ET

Wow, it took a lawsuit to force the Clinton's to come clean. If this information had come out early, Hillary could not have run a campaign claiming more experience – not like experience matters, when it comes to being President anyways.

But there are still 20,000 pages to *processed* and about 4,746 schedules have information removed, which means a lot of days and activities hidden.

For those still harping about Wright, get over it. The Wright controversy is actually good for Obama. It gave him an opportunity to make a great speech, but now it proves once and for all that he is a Christian and not a Muslim. As Obama said, there are a lot of angry people, from all ethnic groups, but especially in the black community, where the those with power and money, the white people, have done very little to provide better opportunity and chance for. We as American need to reach out to everybody else in America so that we can close this bitter divide.

PAY ATTENTION!!!   March 19th, 2008 11:25 am ET

Stop putting out negative comment for Hillary CNN and posting off topic comments about Obama's pastor crap CNN post all posts if you are going to let one be off topic

March 19th, 2008 11:10 am ET
Your comment is awaiting moderation.
There has been a new report: first appearing on "Hardball" with Chris Matthews. It's been proven that Rush Lim's call for Republicans to vote for Hillary has increased HIllary's vote about 2 fold even where it has been shown she would loose.

If this is not disturbing enough for people to want to end this dragging out of the primary by Hillary I don't know what is. The Democratic Party is fractured and being attacked from within by forces who have no other reason but to sabotage the Democratice Bid for the White House. A vote for Clinton is a vote for McCain and if that isn't apparent by the action for Republicans to votes for Hillary what is?

Even now Hillary will not release the documents that would show what she is really about we don't need these types of tactics this close to choosing a candidate and we must turn a page of these type of old politics NOW!!

Jdona   March 19th, 2008 11:25 am ET

What is it with you people and Hillary's tax returns? Have you forgotten that both she and the President were paid MILLIONS to write their books? Yes they have money, they earned it. Is your jealousy or envy or is it just your hate filled souls and black hearts that make you scorn a couple that has devoted their lives to this country and served the people?

Thomas   March 19th, 2008 11:24 am ET

Guido in New Jersey   March 19th, 2008 11:19 am ET

What's becoming more transparent is that Obama is just another sweet talking politician. The poll numbers are shrinking and we are learning more and more everyday exactly what Barack's all about. It's amazing how these two major issues in the Obama campaign – Rescko and now Wright are downplayed by the media. How is someone your mentor and spiritual director, you listen to his taped sermons while studying law and couldn't attend services, yet he all of a sudden doesn't agree with Wright's views? I don't trust him.

Go Hillary!!!!

Dickson Iriogbe in Tennessee   March 19th, 2008 11:19 am ET

Of course anything that is HIGH SECURITY has been blacked out. So all of her peace work would fall under High Security. So foreign policy is back to where we started, not knowing the truth. But hey, if you are a Clinton you can distort the truth and the American people buy it.

She has ran a very nasty campaign and it has only given her more votes. So you get what you buy in this country.

Shame on all Hillary haters. Democrats are in an emotional angry turmoil and I am dismayed by the hateful remarks directed at Senator Clinton.

While the haters are seeking disclosure regarding the Clintons are they also curious about who is contributing to Senator Obama's campaign fund.

isaiah   March 19th, 2008 11:16 am ET

slinkymalinky   March 19th, 2008 11:16 am ET

When is Hillary going to OK the release of the rest of the White House documents?

I mean, how much time does your library appointee really need to sort them out? 10 years!!

Chuck in Oregon   March 19th, 2008 11:16 am ET

I do not want to see her schedule, I want to see her actual foreign policy accomplishments that she has so clearly stated makes her the best qualified candidate for president. Where are the actual documents that back up her touted claims of resolving foreign national secutiry matters? Oh yes, I remember they will not be released until some time in November after the election. How convienent!! I am laughing so bad I cant continue.

Political Jonze   March 19th, 2008 11:16 am ET

Hillary didn't release these out of the goodness of her heart, I believe a Conservative group has to sue for the right to have these files released from the National Archives. This is only a fraction of what they are still after.

These will show nothing, Camp Clinton will cherry-pick out dates and meetings with important people and Camp Obama will point to just what groups/lobbyists had access to the First Lady.

steve   March 19th, 2008 11:16 am ET

Let the dumpster diving begin! I can see the media flipping through the documnets now slicing and dicing to find the dirtiest angles possible. I wouldn't be surprise if we see headlines later today or tomorrow about what HIllary's eating and shopping habits. It still amazes me how fearful the media is with a strong female candidate. The more they tried to buried her, the stronger her will and tenacity is and the more I'm convinced that this woman's got what it takes to be the next president of the United states. Hillary for President!

PA for Obama   March 19th, 2008 11:15 am ET

Hillary is feeling unusually confident and arrogant. Her lethal political operatives are up to something in PA. They are making sure that she wins by hook or by crook. Help America get on a healthier track by ridding us of Hillary. Invesitgate the Archives and don't limit your investigation to the boundaries set by the Clinton operatives.

CB   March 19th, 2008 11:15 am ET

Good, maybe this will put a end to Hillary's critic's calling for proof of her experience. It a shame some of the documents have re-edits and other information crossed out. CNN says it is currently reviewing the documents and I'm sure other news agencies are too. Hopefully we will get the jist of her co-presidency years experience before the Pennslyvania primary. Eleven thousand pages huh, The Clinton's are skilled at illusions and its great the Clinton Team saw the documents first before the news agencies. I smell a Clinton ploy with the release of these pages, they don't let anything out without a calculated reason. Lou Dobbs, read those pages good buddy!

sozzi   March 19th, 2008 11:15 am ET

There will no news in these documents being released, because Hillary really didn't do anything while being a First Lady.

We need tax returns for the past 6 years. Period.

April   March 19th, 2008 11:14 am ET

She didn't complain about Michigan and Floridia, until it was TOO late.. She was the only one on the ballot, and she wasn't supposed to be! She is not following the rules, and now she is blaming Barack. It's not going to work!!! As for this situation. YEAH WHERE ARE HERE TAXES, and why don't Clinton supporters ask valid questions? Instead they take every thing she says as 'gold'… By watching The Clinton Chronicles, a film made independently BEFORE she ran for nomination, making it obsolete as 'propaganda'… any fool would know better than to vote for any Clinton. Hillary is a liar… Or GO watch "Hillary Clinton: It's All A Lie"… made by a former Clinton Supporter!!!

AJ, IL   March 19th, 2008 11:12 am ET

Hmmm…the National Archives can release 11,000 documents today but Hillary can't release her joint tax returns since becoming a senator, or her congressional earmarks, or the Clinton Library donor list? What is she and Bill hiding?!?!

SHE LEADS   March 19th, 2008 11:12 am ET

The right will use Wright to get McCain in the W.H.

SHE LEADS   March 19th, 2008 11:11 am ET

I think it is good that we will able to see what she accomplished in the White House as First Lady.

Democrats need to rally behind Hillary, now that Barack will be vilified for the rest of the campaign by the Republicans.

Do you see why Clinton stayed in the race now?

jeff in Alabama   March 19th, 2008 11:11 am ET

Very good. It is obvious due to the volume of the information that she has a lot of experience. She was had a much more active role than the typical first lady during her terms. Hopefully, this will put a lot of speculation to end and we can continue on to the nomination of the first woman President!

Political Jonze   March 19th, 2008 11:11 am ET

This was the least of the four requests I wanted to see. I want to see her and Bill's tax filings(see how much Dubai is paying them for influence), Clinton Library Donor Lists (selling presidential pardons), and her earmark pork requests(to see what Lobbyists she is involved with) in that order.

NoObamaLoveHere   March 19th, 2008 11:11 am ET

It's laughable when the Obama campaign asks for tax returns when all he's done is make public his last couple of tax returns while the Clintons have over 20 years of tax returns made public.

The Clinton team said they will be released on April 15. I see no reason why she should release them earlier just because Obama is being a whiny baby about it.

List of donors is a matter of privacy for the donors. I'm glad the Clintons have some sense of privacy for their supporters rather than releasing lists just to appease some people who think they're frauds.

Gimme a break! All this asking for taxes and donors is distracting from the real issue of the economy and the war – the issues you know that Hillary is better equipped to address, rather than Obama who will probably just make another pretty speech.

Took my comment out on MIchigan CNN????   March 19th, 2008 11:11 am ET

Now there is going to a big deal about Hillary's schedule and tax returns. How come no one of Obama's supporters cares that Florida and Michigan will lose their vote? If the shoe were on the other foot all of you would be screaming at the top of your lungs. Shame on Obama for not agreeing to have their votes count. I thought from hes speech yesterday he wanted to be a healer and not a divider. Off to poor start Obama.

Chris   March 19th, 2008 11:10 am ET

I am glad Hillary is doing this, now we can see all she did as First Lady and why she is more then qualified to be our next President.

I am so tired of Obama and his speech and his race issues that I will gladly pay for his plane flight back to Chicago so he can return to being an community activist. Just get him out of my sight – please.

Tom Swift, Shopton   March 19th, 2008 11:10 am ET

Fair and Balanced   March 19th, 2008 11:10 am ET

many democrats have historically not believed in the concept of "the media" as an agenda holder. Watching coverage here has been enough to convince me that, for a variety of reasons, the media all to often becomes a participant rather than an observer. On this topic – if there are questionable things in the record, don't bury it; if there are not, don't be silent. Do what you do – observe and comment neutrally, son't manufacture or ignore stories

bill pike   March 19th, 2008 11:09 am ET

i want the document that shows how salaried people save $5,000,000 that can be GIVEN AWAY to the clinton campaign???? must be the same way the mayor of mexico city who made $40,000 per year bought a multi million dollar home in the U.S. GOOD FINANCIAL PLANNING

margie   March 19th, 2008 11:09 am ET

I know CNN is looking for something to take the heat off Obama. Nothing will beat Rev Wrightgate.
Looks like McCain is going to be president (if Hillary is not the nominee).
Hope the superdelegates use their common sence as the rules say they should (independent thinking).
Thanks to Obama we now have a Black vs White race. Guess who will win?.

Meagan, IA   March 19th, 2008 11:09 am ET

I agree that Obama and Hillary supporters should be more respectful, but Hillary is fighting Barack unfairly. She knows that he wants to run a clean campaign, and so she throws the kitchen sink at him.

That's why Obama supporters have to be more agressive online, because HILLARY won't fight fair.

So if she is going to run a slash-and-burn campaign, we're going to give her a hard time.

I also don't like her disloyalty to the DNC, and her loyal Democratic base.

If Hillary lightens up on Barack, we will lighten up online. So if you support Hillary ask yourself about her character, which by the way, Hillary supporters never talk about her character, instead of focussing on Barack.

puffbird   March 19th, 2008 11:09 am ET

I totally agree the Rules are Rules we dems need to quit bickering. Yes it is unfortunate that we had 3 great candidates this election but lets face it do we really want bush Jr in office? The war will never end with McCain and more innocent people will die. We need to support the party regardless of who wins.

Justin--Houston   March 19th, 2008 11:08 am ET

after reviewing partially some of her schedules.

she is a liar. i see no foreign experience what so ever. wow

Peg   March 19th, 2008 11:08 am ET

I browsed through 20 pages of her schedules to find out when she boarded a plane to Texas, who's party she attended…this isnt what Americans wanted to see..Hillary we are still waiting on the important documents…What are you hiding from us? Instead we get to read where you went galavanting around the world drinking tea and spending tax payers monies. I could do that too if i had the money you have…but i wouldnt call it experience!! Please!!! tax documents and earmarks, Please!!

pc   March 19th, 2008 11:08 am ET

I'm wondering if the Clintons "edited" the documents before they were released. Yes indeed, what about her taxes? Why all the secrecy? America would like to know about the criminals they pardoned too.

Rom,NY   March 19th, 2008 11:08 am ET

To "Rules are Rules"
I agree with you at 100%
We have a common enemy, McSame or McBush whatever you are more comfortable with
We should focus on him instead of tearing each other down
enough is enough !!

NONONONO OBAMA   March 19th, 2008 11:07 am ET

Shame on Obama

The only thing he can attack Hillary is to ask her to release tax return!

Come on! first,, who cares about this personal information? second, right now she has started releasing her information.

Shut up! All obama's blind and stupid supporters!

Do not forget GD America! such a scary sermon from Obama's pastor!

Obama… drop off this race. we will not give you any vote!

No Obama!

Ethel   March 19th, 2008 11:07 am ET

Thank you for displaying both of my comments. All is not lost.

An Ohio Voter   March 19th, 2008 11:07 am ET

Please be advised, these documents are public records. They were always going to be released. I hope you Obama supporters find whatever it is you are looking for. So far as the joint tax returns for Hillary and Bill Clinton are concerned, I don't feel that they are anyone's business except the IRS's. The Obama supporters believe that they will find something to "blog about". They are running out of "rapid response" remarks that they can repeat over and over and over and over again. By the way, they are not 1040EZ's.

So far as the Clinton library records are concerned, I think you should ask Bill Clinton for those. It's his library and not Hillary's.

By the way Obama supporters, please omit the following words from your blogs: JUDGEMENT, HONESTY, LIAR, EXPERIENCE, TAX RETURNS, LIBRARY RECORDS, MONSTER, OLD, CRAP, RACIST, HOPE, CHANGE, AMERICA and OBAMA '08. Get a Life!!

Thank You…………….

Mike Jones   March 19th, 2008 11:06 am ET

Rick in Florida–I agree. Where are her tax returns for the last 8 years? Where is the contributers list for the Clinton library? Also release all the documents from your 8 years as 1st lady. Since you claim that as experience.

JM, OH   March 19th, 2008 11:05 am ET

I agree 100% with "Rules are Rules". This election is too important to give to the Republicans. Say no to a 3rd Bush term with McSame.

ALB   March 19th, 2008 11:05 am ET

And now we need to see Obama's last 16 years of papers and taxes. Just to be fair…

maya   March 19th, 2008 11:04 am ET

And people saying that Obama's speech was so "courageous" and "bold" are- I think- letting their emotions cloud their reasoning. Obama was forced to make this speech after a series of bad judgments -starting with sitting in the pews of a racist preacher for 20 years- rookie mistakes, and contradictory statements (Does anyone know- did he or did he not hear the speeches? He is flip-flopping all over himself. WHY DID HE NOT HAVE THE COURAGE TO SPEAK OUT AGAINS RACISM long ago). Obama insults our intelligence and our ability to reason. He is not bold, not courageous, not viable. He is a packaged candidate, a true politician.

RYAN IN TEXAS   March 19th, 2008 11:04 am ET

Release your tax returns and other papers…..

300 million people 're caught up in a concept of two family leaders—what a shame and dumbfounded as it may sounds?

end of obama   March 19th, 2008 11:04 am ET

Hillary is the right person for America. Obama hid more than Hillary, including his house, relationship with so many corrupted people.
let's unite for Hillary.

Sue   March 19th, 2008 11:04 am ET

And 34 pages are missing. Who's fault is that?

king from toronto   March 19th, 2008 11:03 am ET

i agree with the first comment.but hillary' has bin to secretive.

The Great One   March 19th, 2008 11:03 am ET

Rules are Rules i totally agree. I have a feeling that by the end of this race we will send in a wounded dog to fight a republican wolf.

YES WE CAN   March 19th, 2008 11:03 am ET

Ok, BUT WHERE ARE HER TAXES?

Peter   March 19th, 2008 11:03 am ET

It's about time – can we have the rest of them please. you know the 33% that weren't released. Since she didn't have national security clearance I don't understand the problem.

Karie in MD   March 19th, 2008 11:02 am ET

Wohoo! It's about time! And I second Rick In Florida… bring on the tax records and show us your true colors and "experience."

Norm   March 19th, 2008 11:02 am ET

What does the donors list for "His" library have to with her?????

Del   March 19th, 2008 11:02 am ET

These records , in my opinion, have been edited and re-written so many times to read the way the clintons want them. we will only see contents they want. what couldn't be edited, they blacked out. Supposesly there were forty some thousand pages and they only left eleven thousand. What in the world is wrong with Americans? why haven't we learned the hilly-billys cannot be trusted with anything. Doing the same thing over and expecting a difference outcome is insane.

Alice in Fort Myers   March 19th, 2008 11:00 am ET

Now we need to see how much money Obama donated to his racist church

Ethel   March 19th, 2008 10:59 am ET

What happened to my previous comment? Has it been censored and discarded because I insist that Americans think of who and what is driving our political machine? If that is so, then we are lost and my opinions are no longer protected by 'Freedom of Speech' and "freedom of expression'. Pity.

Pat M Canada   March 19th, 2008 10:58 am ET

To all the commenters/bashers on the other Clinton Thread regarding her Released Schedules – I have only one thing to say –
I guess it won't take as long to release Obama's schedules! A couple of pages won't be much of a chore! So let's see his record of service!
What's good for the Goose is Good for Gander!

sue, NJ   March 19th, 2008 10:57 am ET

oh boy!!

here we go!!!

hold on to your seat belts!!

we are not going to be in for a BUMMPY RIDE!!!!!!!!!!

Concerned Voter   March 19th, 2008 10:56 am ET

Now that Hillary is catching up to Obama in the polls, it is lcear to me the her plan to take over the world is working. MMMOOOOOHHHHAAAAHHHAAAAAHHHHAAAA!

Tim   March 19th, 2008 10:56 am ET

Good. Now tax forms and earmarks please.

Peg   March 19th, 2008 10:54 am ET

hmmm…im not sure what these schedules are suppose to be proving. What are you hiding Hillary? We demand to know!!

Shame on you America   March 19th, 2008 10:54 am ET

If anyone thinks they'll be anything incriminating in these documents, you're kidding yourselves…. Hillary is waaaaaaaaay too good at hiding documents. She still has some old White Water documents burried in her backyard.

Keeping It Real   March 19th, 2008 10:52 am ET

Ok. Lets see if anything is there????????

Tea And Cookies, Anyone?   March 19th, 2008 10:52 am ET

Maybe she will reveal her high powered talks to dignitaries, or maybe she stopped a serious world conflict–NOT.

This woman would have us to believe anything. News Flash–she was First Lady. Nothing more, nothing less.

Obama 08

TRUTH   March 19th, 2008 10:52 am ET

Here comes the truth of her leadership. I bet her job was to keep up with Bill Clinton affairs.

Bob   March 19th, 2008 10:52 am ET

OK, are you happy Obama and his cult?

Lets just wait for the Cult to try and spin this anyway they can to get the spotlight off Obama and all the lies he has been telling.

Stan   March 19th, 2008 10:51 am ET

Hillary: "I am probably the most transparent person in America"

You know that's a lie Billary! Where are your phone records for the WH years?

Where's your tax returns?

Where's the donor list that made up over $500 million in contributions?

"the most transparent"? What a joke!

vicki $$$$$$$$   March 19th, 2008 10:51 am ET

She released the papers that would show her in a favrable light . So the media will cover this story instead of the fact that she refuses to release

HER TAX DOCUMENTS AND CLINTON LIBRARYDOCUMENTS

Grif   March 19th, 2008 10:50 am ET

Cant stand the truth… Then why ask for comments…

Pity,,,

Jim   March 19th, 2008 10:49 am ET

Oh no…… it's the billing records version 2

Her Highness   March 19th, 2008 10:49 am ET

It's about time, I guess we will have more "nothingness" from Her Highness.

Please check that all expenses paid tour around the world for "critical foreign" experience.

SR   March 19th, 2008 10:49 am ET

Sen. Clinton: 7 yrs as a senator, serves on the U.S. Senate Committee for Armed Services, also 8 years First Lady=knowledge if not experience; Sen. Obama: 3 yrs as a senator, can't be bothered to chair his Subcommittee of European Affairs, 20 years in Rev. Wright's church. You do the math.

Fair and Balanced   March 19th, 2008 10:48 am ET

I used to believe the Republican myth of "the media" agenda was just that – a myth. Watching this election, I have come to realize that individuals in the media do selectively seize on information and do thereby become participants in the phenomenon instead of just observers. Their motives can be as simple as advancing a storyline that is drawing interest, or as nefarious as a personal agenda. A plea – when you review these, be neither pro-Clinton nor pro-Obama. If there are things that are questionable, don't bury it.

PA   March 19th, 2008 10:48 am ET

Now release the eight years of tax returns and the records of the $500 million dollars donated to the Clinton Library. As a PA voter, this should be released BEFORE the PA primaries!!!!!!

Michael, Torrance, CA   March 19th, 2008 10:48 am ET

Big deal!

Obama supporter   March 19th, 2008 10:47 am ET

Obama is correct you need to not only be ready on day one but also right on day one. Unfortunately he is neither; he wasn’t right on day one when buying his home. He hasn’t been right on day one for over 20 years picking Rev. Wright.

What a hypocrite! I am black and I am switching to vote for Clinton–she deserves it.

Stan   March 19th, 2008 10:47 am ET

It's gonna get good very very soon now. Hillary, who has based her campaign entirely on experience that we can't examine!!

So for over a year now, we had been forced to eat her rhetoric without actually seeing any proof other than the testimony of her surrogates. Finally we have documents that can be seen for what they are.

Do anyone know the website to go to?

g4hillary   March 19th, 2008 10:47 am ET

now obama can stop crying about it.

Eric   March 19th, 2008 10:45 am ET

Happy now Obama? I can just see your campaign sifting through every document to try to find something that will hurt Hillary or your will take something and spin it as usual. I bet Jack Cafferty is there helping. lol.

Randy - Denver   March 19th, 2008 10:44 am ET

Well i guess we now know how to get information from the Clinton Campaign, file a lawsuit… reminds me of the bush whitehouse

Rick in Florida   March 19th, 2008 10:43 am ET

What about her TAXES to show where she and Bill get their money? And the list of DONORS to the Clinton Library and her campaign to show who's giving money/getting influece? They both continue to STONEWALL about these disclosures, which are far more important than the tea parties she attended in Ireland!! STOP HIDING, HILL.

La Petite Sorciere   March 19th, 2008 10:43 am ET

about time, and let me guess is this her foreign experience resume on which she claims she saved the world and brought peace to Ireland?
she will do whatever it takes to steal the election from anyone and from the people………shame on Billary

Hong   March 19th, 2008 10:43 am ET

Good. Hope those documents make this election more transparent.

Rules are Rules   March 19th, 2008 10:41 am ET

Obama and Hillary supporters WE need to stop Hating on each other, about the likes and dislikes. If we want our party to win we need to stop. Unless you want McCain in the whitehouse.

This race is about putting our party in the whitehouse. WE need to come together, start thinking and stop hating.
