(CNN) - The State Department has confirmed a breach on Sen. Barack Obama's passport file, his campaign told CNN.
"This is an outrageous breach of security and privacy, even from an administration that has shown little regard for either over the last eight years," said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton in a statement. "Our government's duty is to protect the private information of the American people, not use it for political purposes."
The campaign called for "a complete investigation" to find out who looked at Obama's passport file and why.

Well, why worry about identity theft now if our government lets just anyone see private files? It's just awful negligence on our government's part. This isn't just about Obama...it affects us all. It does sound rather "fishy" considering election timing. As for remarks about Hillary...she will always have secrecy and just as bad as Bush!

I came from Irish settlers who were discriminated upon, yet have yet to hear anything from Obama about me. He seems more concernced about only the African American population. Others struggled to make themselves in this country too, Barack, it'd be nice if you'd acknowledge that. This is why you'll never win in November, you don't have attract a broad audience.

To all the people out there who doesn't think this is a big deal: No, other candidate's file was breached. Why his? If we are going to look into his let's look into every governments official file. I don't have anything to hide and I still don't want everyone to know my business, plain and simple. So, get off your high horse of playing God. Do you think you should know everything about people? If the law says no, then obey the law. The people who broke the law are the ones that can't be trusted.
This outrageous act also transcends them just looking at Obama. What if certain people are looking at your file and stealing your personal information without mid-management reporting it. How about our Secret Service Agents personal information. I mean, if the State Department is just going to allow their contractors to access peoples info and do nothing about it, this is really serious.

It was brushed off too easily by checking only if the people had a criminal record and then letting them go. Upper level state Dept says they just found out about it now. WHY?
