Watch Bill Richardson endorse Obama. (AP Photo)

(CNN) — Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico endorsed Sen. Barack Obama in the Democratic race for president Friday.

"Barack Obama will make a great and historic president," Richardson told a rally in Portland, Oregon, with Obama standing at his side.

Richardson said Obama's recent speech on race in America, saying he "understands clearly that only by bringing people together, only by bridging our differences can we all succeed together as Americans."

"He appealed to the best in us … as a Hispanic American I was particularly touched by his words," Richardson added.

This tell American people we can bring change if we really try hard to do so I admire Gov Richardson because he truely friend of the Clinton but look he knew what was right for American people is to endorse a great leader such as Obama.

Mani, NJ   March 21st, 2008 3:39 pm ET

Voting for Barack Obama will be the biggest mistake this country will make right next to electing George Bush. The man has the nerve to attack Hillary Clinton when its his character that is now in question. While he is giving 'I don't know that man….' speeches and, 'My grandmother was a white woman who dislikes black people….', Hillary Clinton is focusing on the economy, healthcare, and the housing crisis. This is an election and sometimes things might get sticky. That does not make her any less electable (oh by the way she's ahead in national polls) or any less dishonest than Obama.

mm,ma   March 21st, 2008 3:38 pm ET

It surprising how you close comments when something is against Obama and keep it open when its for Obama. Glad I stopped watching CNN. Though I hated them once, I am watching Fox now. they are more fair and balanced than you guys.

Denise   March 21st, 2008 3:34 pm ET

This country has already gone down the drain or haven't you noticed Kim?

Jenny Johnson   March 21st, 2008 3:34 pm ET

The People of the United States of America are being censored by CNN! CNN will not allow anymore than a few anti-Obama statements at a time. It's time for THE PEOPLE to get a new news network. Shame on CNN

Doug in Orlando, Fla   March 21st, 2008 3:32 pm ET

I know my pro-hillary comment won't be shown.

This is huge, and I think we all know it.

AMK   March 21st, 2008 3:31 pm ET

CNN you wouldn't post my comment either…..

Jean   March 21st, 2008 3:30 pm ET

Doesn't make a difference – I'm still voting for Hillary. I don't trust Obama.

Alen   March 21st, 2008 3:29 pm ET

DNC is doing everything to derail Clinton. I hope Hillary will consider to run as an independent is November. I WILL NOT vote for Obama in November and I consider myself true Democrat.

mathew   March 21st, 2008 3:27 pm ET

Has anyone else realized that everything that has been said or done to the Clintons over the years, is now getting used by the same people to Barack. I think it is a shame the Clintons are using any and every play in the book to win especially being as most of the plays are out of the the republician book. Because you Clinton supporters continue to mutter insults and state that you will not vote Obama in the general, I will not vote Hillary in the general because of the racist and un american things her supporters say.

Mike Levy   March 21st, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Endorsements mean nothing any more. The only thing that matters is who the super delagates vote forThey get to cast their vote on who they think would be best for the job.And this time im glad the nominee will be decided by wisdom. The people blew the last 2 presidential elections.GO SUPER DELAGATES

Brenda in SC   March 21st, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Those of you who are disappointed in Richardson's endorsement, go on his site and email him. Let me know that he won't be getting a position in the White House. I see CNN is continuing to show its bias toward electing Barack Obama – still wonder if Oprah owns some stock.

I'm confused   March 21st, 2008 3:24 pm ET

No one voted for Gov. Richardson in the primary but now he is the cat's meow? Seriously?

Ram   March 21st, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Democracy is smart people. Smart people make up their own minds who is best suited for them & the country. Common sense is vital. We should not be guided or misguided by endorsement of famous people, pundits, church & religious groups or journalists.

Doug in Orlando, Fla   March 21st, 2008 3:23 pm ET

funny hillary picked up 5 superdelegates today and obama picked up 1….why are we not seeing the 5 hillary picked up. I find it odd nothing is being said.

Green Pea, NC   March 21st, 2008 3:20 pm ET

For those Dems that say that they won't vote for Obama if he gets the DEM nominee, proves just one point – that America is still prejudice.
We are SUPPOSED to be the most progressive country in the world, not the most hypocritical.

Justin, Grand Junction, CO   March 21st, 2008 3:19 pm ET

Thank you Gov. Richardson!

Message to all the Clinton supporters : time to jump onboard, let's unite and defeat McCain!

Rob   March 21st, 2008 3:19 pm ET

To those individuals that are complaining that Richardson should've endorsed Hillary Clinton because he is her friend… well, you aren't supposed to endorse your friend, you are supposed to endorse the candidate you feel would be the better president.

M.A.   March 21st, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Obama has a pride on his honesty that is unknown on Sen. Hillary Clinton, perhaps because there is a lack of it there.

larry loebig   March 21st, 2008 3:17 pm ET

If I want fair and balanced I guess I will need to go to fox news – cnn might as well endorse Obama – they helped get Bush elected and now Obama – does that tell you anything?

julia   March 21st, 2008 3:14 pm ET

I believe he have done it with hope that Obama picks him as VP.
He is endorsing Obama despite his constituency vote for Hillary.
I guess its ok for super delegates to vote against will of their states too?

Go Hillary!

linda-Texas   March 21st, 2008 3:14 pm ET

Obama's "new politics" is ominously reminiscent of the "new economy" and we all know how well that worked for us.
Remember Enron–the company no one had ever heard of–rocketed to the top on false information and ultimately imploded with millions of investors losing everything.

Bill   March 21st, 2008 3:14 pm ET

It's a pleasure to read the positive, hopeful, and fresh comments in favor of Sen. Obama. The comments for Sen. Clinton seem to have a common thread of anger, negativity, and sarcasm. Get a grip.

Emilio, New York   March 21st, 2008 3:13 pm ET

Jack:

Dare we say an all miniority Democratic ticket! Obama / Richardson sounds like an unstoppable ticket to me. Richardson's foreign policy experience would be a great compliment to Obama, and clearly Richardson is Presidental material in case of need. Obama and the DNC should give this serious consideration. Que viva Obama / Richardson!

Joann Virginia Beach VA   March 21st, 2008 3:13 pm ET

CORRECTION:

And don't forget that Bill Clinton met with Obama's pastor in 1998. What does that mean? That's why Hillary is keeping her mouth shut.

Joann – Virginia Beach, VA

Joseph   March 21st, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Richardson's endorsement is meaningless at this point. He should have endorsed him before Texas. What happens to Obama if he loses Pennsylvania? Many plls have him donw by 15-20 points. If Hillary wins PA by 15 points – all bets are off on Obama winning. He needs to be comeptitive in PA.

Angela   March 21st, 2008 3:11 pm ET

All of you who keep saying that Bill Richardson betrayed a friendship are the same ones who called for Obama to kick Rev. Wright to the curb. Is friendship and loyalty only good when it serves you?

louise in New York   March 21st, 2008 3:11 pm ET

Thank you Gov Richardson! Excellent choice. Would love to see you as VP!! I feel hope again..Obama is this country's hope for unity within our borders and the rest of the world..and the two(Obama & Richardson) together just make it better.

Russell   March 21st, 2008 3:11 pm ET

Barbara, We WILL vote for Obama in NC! Speak for yourself please!

jellymom   March 21st, 2008 3:11 pm ET

this is so sad…they are both out for themselves and neither isinterested in bringing meveryone together. How are so many people so taken in by smooth talk. There really dosn't seem to be anything behind it. So sad that people need heroes so badly. Real change begins with self…work on it!

What Now   March 21st, 2008 3:11 pm ET

Now there is a first and a ticket I can vote for: Obama 08 and Richardson in 2016. Lets get this thing going and make it happen.

Lisa   March 21st, 2008 3:10 pm ET

Go Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes We Can.

Jared   March 21st, 2008 3:09 pm ET

Most impressive.

Obama will have to lose badly in the remaining states to not get the nomination now.

He will win: North Carolina, Oregon, South Dakota, Puerto Rico, and Montana.

Hillary will win: PA, Kentucky, Indiana, and maybe West Virginia.

The math goes his way I believe.

Chuck O   March 21st, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Richardson is a loser, that couldn't even make it past January. Obama needs all the help now that the national polls are changing and the American people are really seeing what type of person he is.

Chelsea   March 21st, 2008 3:06 pm ET

For those who don't like Obama, nothing will satisfy them. But Obama is America's best hope for the future. Tear him apart on racial lines, and we risk a once-in-a-lifetime president. God is on his side!

Thank you Bill Richardson. You could have done this earlier though.

Brandon   March 21st, 2008 3:06 pm ET

Yes we will vote Obama in NC.

Slott   March 21st, 2008 3:05 pm ET

It looks like Edwards and Gore are the only Dems smart enough to not endorse anyone.

Dev   March 21st, 2008 3:04 pm ET

This is the best thing that has happened in this election. MOst Americans believe in racial reconciliation and honest dialogue. I am so glad this has happened. This is awesome!!!

Which words touched him? The ones about "typical white people"?
Obama is a RACIST who isn't even doing a good job of pretending otherwise.

We want to know more information about Obama's pastor and his 20 relationship with Wright's church. We need an answer! Who changed the topics. CNN should air more important news as breaking news. Obama and CNN owe American an anwer.

piecrust   March 21st, 2008 3:04 pm ET

Someone made a comment that Bill Clinton met with Jeremiah Wright once or twice. So what, did Bill jump up and down like what they do in their church? Petty!

I don't trust Obama anymore..who cares about Richardson.

nancy canada   March 21st, 2008 3:04 pm ET

this probably won't get posted…>CNN=pro OBAMA

it's really sad how see through obama is yet americans still vote for him?? after the whole BUSH fiasco wouldn't you want someone who has actually done something and not someone who gives speeches? when something negative about him comes out he says he has no knowledge of it and then a couple days later, changes it and says he does??? too fake for a me VOTE FOR HILARY!!!

Observer   March 21st, 2008 3:03 pm ET

Thank you Gov. Richardson for exercsing good jugdement. You do bring alot of good practical Foreign policy sense to the presidential campaign.
From a very happy democrat

Durpe   March 21st, 2008 3:03 pm ET

Barabara in NC, you say that people in NC will never vote for Obama, but I wonder if that's because you are a Clinton supporter. If that's the case it makes me wonder if this fight has gotten so ugly for the democratic party that we can't unite this party come General Election time.

That would be truly sad.

Reggie   March 21st, 2008 3:02 pm ET

Obama will win despite the the Clinton neg. problems

dana   March 21st, 2008 3:02 pm ET

What difference does it make? His endorsement has come late and Richardson does not speak for the Hispanic community. Hillary already won New Mexico, California and Texas so Richardson looks like a fool endorsing Obama and his intentions are so obvious. Bill Richardon is vying for VP with Obama and Obama offered him the spot. Everyone knows that Clinton did not offer him the spot and does not want him as her VP. This is why Richardson is endorsing Obama. This is a poiltical move. Strategy. Or Stratigeri as President Bush calls it.

Kelly From Oklahoma   March 21st, 2008 3:01 pm ET

Obviously CNN is or Obama. He's even on the Live Section right now… I never see Hillary on. Richardson could not even get out of the single digits in his campaign. And his endorsement is front page news??

Don, San Francisco   March 21st, 2008 3:01 pm ET

Is it possible Gov. Richardson sees what many of us see; that the direction of this primary campaign is doing great harm to the Democrat's chances in November? His suggestion that the Party gets behind Obama and gets its eyes on the real prize, the White House, is sound advice in my opinion.

Ehis Olu   March 21st, 2008 3:00 pm ET

What a pity.
Now he has lost every ounce of respect I have for him.
He is probably eyeing the VP spot…….
I'd like to see his face come June , when he discovers he has joined the loosing camp.

An Agnostic Democrat   March 21st, 2008 3:00 pm ET

Just goes to show what a weak and unelecatble candidate Hillary is. Pretty pathetic that she can't even get the endorsement of a long time friend and former colleague. Oops! That's two former Dem candidates now backing Mr. Obama.

Her campaign knew going into this she was going to be hard to sell no matter how they packaged her (>50% negative rating even including her own party). This is common knowledge in the Clinotn circle of deception and corruption. Why do you think they're all so negative and divisive in that camp and try projecting that outward to others? The truth is, she's packaged herself, and it ain't too pretty either no matter how you spin it!

errrr   March 21st, 2008 3:00 pm ET

The fact of the matter is that Richardson like other elite party Dems are looking out for themselves and yet they don't know that they're shooting themselves in the foot.

They want the next generation of voters to be Dems, and think that Obama can deliver this-but have not considered the consequences-becasue of Obama's supporters now. They hope that Dems will hold power for a long time to come if they start them young.

However they have not thought it thru and neglect that the college kids are still in their formative years, and in fact most with more world experience will become independent-like me- or even republican-especially if they go into business. They will lose the base of reliable core Dem voters now, the kind who vote in every local, state and federal contests.

Because of their greed for future power, they forget that they won't even be able to win this time as reflected by the Dem defection rate if Obama is nominated.Sorry, but half of the country-republicans&independents-are for McCain and any defection will ensure McCain wins and that's math like Obama supporters like to point harp on. After Wright, my company employees and those I've spoken to at church will no longer vote Obama no matter who comes out of the woods to endorse him, unless it was Jesus. McCain if necessary.

Monica, Texas   March 21st, 2008 2:59 pm ET

They certainly look good together….They make a powerful team!!!

Rice   March 21st, 2008 2:59 pm ET

His endorsement is so bad. Bill Richardson will lose his hispanic foundation in the future. Bill Richardson supported a falling angel. Obama is over.

My .02   March 21st, 2008 2:59 pm ET

Ray – For you to say that Obama is just a smooth talker and doesn't speak his mind, just goes to show how out of touch you are with reality. What's so wrong with giving a good speech? Would you prefer McCain's speech over Obama's? God, I hope not. Mister can't even read from cue cards himself. God, ignorance is bliss.

laurie   March 21st, 2008 2:58 pm ET

Great speech by Richardson. Apparently the Clinton supporters do not watch any of Barack Obama's speeches or interviews. He definitely answered hard questions regarding his ideas on improving the direction of this country. I was not listening to Hillary as I personally dislike her and have ever since she walked down Pennsylvania Ave next to Bill. I have now taken the time to listen to her and unfortunately, as I already knew, she is determined to win the nomination whatever the cost. I sincerely hope other super delegates take a lead from Richardson and get this over with.

SarahJ   March 21st, 2008 2:57 pm ET

For Clinton supporters saying you will vote for McCain if she doesn't win SHAME ON YOU! SHAME ON YOU! He does not stand for health care for children, for protecting retirement, for fixing and broken war, and yet you are so selfish that you will not vote for a man that stands for 95% of what Clinton stands for, and instead vote for McCain, who is vastly different? SHAME ON YOU. you should be ashamed of yourself. Take a look in the mirror, ask yourself 'why will I not vote for Obama, why will I vote for McCain if Hillary doesn't win? Why will I not protect my children, or my children's children?' Voting out of spite is SELFISH.

Its a sad a selfish world we live in.

I'm an Obama supporter but would never vote for someone who is hell bent on destroying the economy, who won't protect my children's education, who will keep us in Iraq for "100 more years." I would vote for hillary in a heart beat over McCain.

Richardson is doing what is best for the party. The republicans have already rallied behind McCain, we need to do the same.

Linn   March 21st, 2008 2:56 pm ET

Never fully appreciated Richardson, insofar he was overshadowed by the bravura of the other Democratic candidates. But his recent endorsement of Obama, eloquent in its simplicity, required courage and candor, and a true understanding of what American leadership should be at this critical juncture in our troubled history.

Wouldn't Richardson be the ideal running mate, should Obama…by the greatest of luck ( and despite the lock-hold of the Clintons on the Democratic establishment) actually make it to the White House.???

HRC in 08   March 21st, 2008 2:56 pm ET

What happened to all of the hoop la of the superdelegates following the will of voters in their jurisdiction? Clinton won the majority of delegated for New Mexico. Does this set a president that the rest of the superdelegates are free to vote their professional judgment? This could open the field for Clinton to win more superdelegates. I sure hope so.

California Independent   March 21st, 2008 2:56 pm ET

Not going to help. I can't imagine what position Richardson could get with his 'issues' reported in the last couple of years. In this day of media, it would not remain quiet and I can't imagine he would sell.

Yall betta wake up   March 21st, 2008 2:53 pm ET

I think this is a mistake. The Dems are so bent on Obama being the nominee that they are willing to hand over the WH to the republicans cause that is exactly what is going to happen. I don't know why they are so blinded by Obie. I'm not. He's not electable. He said he is about change, but all I have seen is more of the same. He's just like all of the other politicians. He's a TYPICAL POLITICIAN.

Rechi   March 21st, 2008 2:53 pm ET

Voting Obama is like voting Jeremiah Wright. How can we say for sure that Obama does not believe what Wright does?

Obama, you are a liar and does not deserve to be the president of this country.

Abomination   March 21st, 2008 2:53 pm ET

Richardson just does whatever DNC leader Howard Dean tells him to do. This is pathetic. It just shows Richardson's disloyalty to the Clintons. How can he sit there and watch sports on TV will Bill Clinton while secretly horsetrading behind his back? Totally disengenious.

Voters should be VERY SUSPICIOUS of this move and the timing. Just when Obama gets caught attending a racist, anti-American church that gives "lifetime achievement awards" to radical bigots… then they roll out that Richardson barrel.

People should be asking themselves why is Howard Dean so intent on taking down Hillary Clinton. He's going to take down the whole party with him in one big raging scream.

I don't wager most Americans would vote for a candidate that is as inexperienced and who uses such poor, boneheaded judgment as Obama anyway.

La Raza   March 21st, 2008 2:52 pm ET

Now maybe we can bring this to a close. Edwards will endorse Obama next week.

Tejano   March 21st, 2008 2:51 pm ET

Say Goodbye to Bill Richardson's career. Some do it by soliciting prostitutes, others prostitute themselves. Hispanics listen up you are being railroaded into Obama's campaign.

Obama '08   March 21st, 2008 2:51 pm ET

THANK GOD!

I was so worried that Richardson would have endoresed Clinton.

Now we just need Edwards and Gore, then the other Super Delegates will fall into place.

Rosa of Azores   March 21st, 2008 2:51 pm ET

Richardson made a mistake if he thinks that Obama could give him the VP position, that has already been promised to CNN.

Glenn   March 21st, 2008 2:50 pm ET

Bill Richardson is a great Democrat and American. Too bad some of the other Democratic leaders don't have the same courage and cahracter and endorse Obama now as well.

You have to ask the question why are Edwards, Biden, Gore, Pelosi and others sitting on the sidelines and watching what is ploitically expedient for themselves and continuing to allow Hillary to polarize both the party and country with her campaign of hate and division? Why can't they, for one brief moment, be real leaders and do what is right and not follow the politics of old?

They need to endorse Obama and help start the healing that the Democratic Party needs so badly, right now!

Jesusita Martinez   March 21st, 2008 2:50 pm ET

Are you kidding me, Richardson? Your endorsement has no meaning, except that you betrayed the Clinton's and us Latinos. How do you explain the fact that the majority of Latinos voted for Senator Clinton? And now you endorsed Obama?

“He appealed to the best in us…?” The question here is that Obama's speech did not address the real issue of his pastor. Understand that the issue here is not race but rather Obama’s credibility and judgment character.

Shame on you Bill Richardson.

Armand1980   March 21st, 2008 2:50 pm ET

Obama 08 + Richardson as Secretary of State!

Pierre Martin   March 21st, 2008 2:48 pm ET

Richardson is a proof of disloyal opportunism, after brought by in cabinet by Bill Clinton, he had an opportunity to give back the favor at Senator Clinton. What kind of change would Richardson propose us, other than change his shirt!

obamamama   March 21st, 2008 2:48 pm ET

Gov. Richardson: In response to the Clinton campaign slandering of his endorcement for Senator Obama, Gov Richardson wants to get away from stereotyping and he wants to go where Senator Obama is at, away from stereotyping.

Excellent. I couldn't ask for a better response from an experience and a proven leader in him.

A&A   March 21st, 2008 2:46 pm ET

how about the New Black Panthers endorsement? and my God that live footage of the endoresement today was way too long…how come Hillary keeps of getting cut off, and his just go on forever…if i hear one more time about the urgency of now i might barf…clearly Bill has high personal political agenda with this endorsement…such a back stabber

Ray   March 21st, 2008 2:46 pm ET

I still have a bad feeling about Obama. He is a smooth talker but I think he will never speak his mind. He has hired many flacks to secure a universal appeal and he talks their talk. I am not impressed that he can walk the talk however. Wait until after his presidential bid fails…he and Michelle will slip and truly speak their mind. Action speaks louder than words to this voter

Sylvia   March 21st, 2008 2:45 pm ET

I was an initial Richardson supporter. I believe Mr. Richardson made a wise decision to endorse Mr. Barrack Obama. Mr. Richardson has the most foriegn experience than any candidate currently running and Mr. Obama is very fortunate to get Mr. Richardson's support.
Thank you, Mr. Richardson.

Gil Saenz   March 21st, 2008 2:45 pm ET

Go Obama! Thank you Mr. Richardson! Let's all come together as one America! Let's send a unified voice to the world that America can change for the best and remedy our past wrongs.

I guess the Gov didn't buy Clinton's 35 years of foreign relations "experience"; which probably consisted of tea parties and cruise ship christenings

HM   March 21st, 2008 2:44 pm ET

I think Obama will make a wonderful president. His America is the America I want to live in. I have never doubted his patriotism or his love for this country or his ability to understand Americans. This is a great endorsement, I have great respect for Richardson as well. Being close to the Clintons, I'm sure this was a difficult decision to make and shows the real strength of Obama.

Obama '08!!

Armand1980   March 21st, 2008 2:44 pm ET

Well, this is is my Second post that most likely will be deleted by CNN comentator because is not PRO-OBAMA>

Hillary Clinton supporters, Barack Obama will not win the nomination without our support. There are hundreds of thousands of us who will not vote for OBAMA if he is the nominee, I dont care about he democratic party, i care about my choice for the nominee and for the person that i believe will be best for this country. I urge you not to vote for OBAMA is he is the nominee, lets vote independent or Mccain, that will be better than to have an anti-american govern america.

Bill Richardson's Reason   March 21st, 2008 2:44 pm ET

It was the "speech" that led to this endorsement. Now you tell me how important this endorsement is.

Oh the Republicans are so going to take this election!

Hill Girl   March 21st, 2008 2:44 pm ET

Governor Richardson is playing political roulette. He obviously wants our of New Mexico. His ticket out is Senator Obama. If things go that way, he'll likely get a ticket to DC. If things don't go that way, his choices are gonna pretty limited. The Clintons do value loyalty and Senator Richardson apparently has none.

Cheryl   March 21st, 2008 2:43 pm ET

Maybe now we can finally stop the fighting within our party and get ready for the general election. I think I speak for a lot of Americans when I say that we are tired of all the fighting, we have enough fighting in Iraq. Sen. Clinton is taking the day off, and we all can say together HALLELUJAH!!! If we can get her to just be silent for the rest of the month, or until April 22. That might be the last state she'll win, one can only pray!!!!!! Obama/Richardson 08!!!!!!!

Rene D   March 21st, 2008 2:43 pm ET

Two eloquent Americans speaking this morning. What a refreshing situation. If we could get beyond the various "camps" and get down to real people, we'd really have something going for a change. I would be all for an Obama-Richardson, even a Richardson-Obama (my earliest hope) ticket!

alg   March 21st, 2008 2:43 pm ET

To those who are sick of the Clintons, I ask…What were you sick of back in the 90's? The peace or the prosperity?

r.mary   March 21st, 2008 2:42 pm ET

As a hispanic and from Chicago, I am very disappointed in Richardson endorsing Obama.

Mark - Gilbert, AZ   March 21st, 2008 2:42 pm ET

I feel sorry for you Hillary supporters for being mislead by Hillary.

I read your comments and even a close supporter isn't dumb enough to support her after watching her campaign. Just goes to show that political double speak, a disenguine message and complete and total hypocrisy only leads to smarter choices: that choice is Obama.

Well done Gov! Cry more HRC supporters!

Tommy   March 21st, 2008 2:41 pm ET

Obama could never say anything against his friend Wright but he can condemn all white women like Ferraro and Hillary and his own Grandmother. Why is Obama so hateful to white women?

Jesusita Martinez   March 21st, 2008 2:40 pm ET

Neither Hillary or Obama is perfect. What everyone need to do is google and watch "The Shocking Video Hillary Don't Want You To See" and boy is it shocking!!!!!!!!!

Andrew   March 21st, 2008 2:39 pm ET

What if Bill and Hillary Clinton had the endorsement? What would Bill and Hillary Clinton say? How would Barak Obama respond? Barack Obama would congratulate Hillary and Bill Clinton. Watch how Bill and Hillary spin the fact that, Bill Richardson, the Govenor of New Mexico endorsement of Barack Obama for President of the United States.

the comments on here are so much more polarized than a few weeks ago, it's amazing. i hope this nomination process ends soon.

Jim   March 21st, 2008 2:39 pm ET

It is hilariously ironic to see these Hillary supporters try to attack Obama's character.

From her misrepresentations about her vote on Iraq, to her "kitchen sink" strategy, to denigrating a fellow Democrat in comparison with McCain, and on to the ridiculous over-inflating of her duties as First Lady, Hillary has exhibited anything but character.

She WOULD be a deeply flawed nominee, just as she has already shown herself to be a deeply flawed candidate.

William O. in Michigan   March 21st, 2008 2:36 pm ET

I wonder how the Clinton team will spin this as a negative… wait, they already are trying. I think they said 'both of us have a lot of people endorsing us'. Ha!! But this guy was in the Clinton administration AND is a close personal friend of Bill. This has gotta hurt!

Obama 08!!

Floridian   March 21st, 2008 2:35 pm ET

For everyone who is saying nasty things about Richardson, the guy was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize 5 times. FIVE TIMES. How many times were you nominated? So quit saying insulting things about someone who has really made a difference in America and the world.

Not everything revolves around your love of your candidate or hatred of the other – at least have some respect for Richardson for the statesman he is.

rb   March 21st, 2008 2:35 pm ET

Richardson, why are you so unthankful?

Go Hillary!

Tommy   March 21st, 2008 2:35 pm ET

Obama will never be elected. He has insulted every white American. He is formenting a racial riot. Obama is not for unity he is for civil war.

kcfromtexas   March 21st, 2008 2:33 pm ET

Obama attacks! I thought he was all about hope and unity and change and inspiration. What a fraud.
He is the most devisive politician in my lifetime and sadly, the media love it.

Denise Hoover   March 21st, 2008 2:33 pm ET

David Plouffe's remarks are completely irresponsible and vicious in nature. His words reek of desperation and inexperience. He is not helping his candidate or the Democratic Party and should be reprimanded or removed from his position in the campaign for Senator Obama.

Jack   March 21st, 2008 2:33 pm ET

Richardson just made a dumb move.

Hillary won New Mexico, and Hispanics all across the country are voting in large numbers for Hillary and at the same time rejecting Obama for his inexperience, his upbringing/race, and his baggage (Rezko & Wright).

Richardson: you just hurt your career.

Latino Voter   March 21st, 2008 2:33 pm ET

What a backstabbing loser. It just goes to show you, that being a friend to someone doesnt really matter. The Clintons were so good to Mr. Richardson, then he goes and does this.

Its just like the African Americans forgetting how good the Clintons were to them. Ill just say "wow", lets start a movement entitled "Hillary Supporters for McCain 08!".

R.A.   March 21st, 2008 2:33 pm ET

Both Clinton and Obama have been trying to get his endorsement.
He's done alot of good and even been nominated for the Nobel peace prize a few time.
He chose Obama. That speaks volumes and i hope others follow suit.

Love America   March 21st, 2008 2:33 pm ET

We don't like to vote a person who has 20 years relationship with a pastor who hates America. BR's endorsement is wrong.

Don   March 21st, 2008 2:31 pm ET

Whether Obama becomes the democratic nominee or not, I feel that he and Bill Richardson can do so much to bring unity amongst the different ethnicities, especially if they could get Hillary on the bandwagon also. Maybe if more news outlets showed their viewers different races working together, we might actually live up to our creed that all men (including women of course) are created equal.

Obama-Hillary-Richardson 08

anne oconnor   March 21st, 2008 2:30 pm ET

sorry bill richardson, you really are a rat to Mrs. Clinton, I have no sympathy for you at all and I will never vote for obama, he hates white people………………….

Marc For America   March 21st, 2008 2:30 pm ET

Today soon to be former governor Bill Richardson gambles with his own political future by endorsing Obama against the will of the people of his own state won by Clinton. He underlined the hypocrisy in the Obama campaign's argument that elected officials should support the candidate that won there own state. He is now disowned in the Hispanic community

Tam   March 21st, 2008 2:30 pm ET

As a typical white person who supported Gov. Richardson's campaign, I'm really disappointed that he thinks Sen. Obama is a uniter. Obama made a racist remark, basically called his own grandmother a bigot, and made it clear he will not represent my interests since I'm just a typical white person…

This is not the type of change I want for this country.

Alice   March 21st, 2008 2:28 pm ET

Obama wants to change the attention of his pastor's GDA. We should think about this GDA. Obama should quit right now. If Obama is a " typical white person" having this kind relationship with Wright, he already did quit for sure.

Jim   March 21st, 2008 2:28 pm ET

I used to think Richardson was smart and I respected him. Not anymore!

Karen p   March 21st, 2008 2:28 pm ET

Thank you Bill Richardson! I am so happy that Bill Richardson has the courage to back the candidate he knows to be the best for the country over and above past "friendships" with the Clintons. Hillary is NOT Bill and Richardson has used his intelligence and foresight to make his decision.

jgzeger   March 21st, 2008 2:27 pm ET

Richardson's endorsement of Obama should have about as much impact as a mosquito hitting the windshield of a car going 20 mph.

vic nashville,Tn   March 21st, 2008 2:26 pm ET

Really it is too late New Mexico voted for Hillary . Nearly 65% Hispanic American voted for her what he is doing now ? Another politician !!!!!!!!! Compare to these two Hillary is the best

Greg, San Francisco, CA   March 21st, 2008 2:26 pm ET

Obama/Richardson would be a pretty formidable ticket. Richardson has the experience to trump any concerns about Obama's lack of it and will carry a key Southwestern state that borders both Mexico and John McCain's Arizona. The fact that he's a former Clinton exec also scores political points.

Roger S   March 21st, 2008 2:26 pm ET

As a British closely watching the American politics, I hope Gov. Richardson edorsement of Sen. Obama should open the eyes and voices of other Americans in saying no more to political dynasties. Unless off course, America wants to create a Clinton-Bush Monarch where Chelsea would take over the mantle from her Mum should Americans decide to elect Hillary as Pres.

This will be great for Obama's campaign. Bill Richardson was by far the most experienced candidate in the Democratic nominee field and it was a shame how his candidacy was totally overlooked. With Richardson as his VP, I think Barack could have a general election in the bag.

The "real dream team" has finally come together! Hope and experience and a shared goal of a United States of America. North, south, east, west and a focus on home and a great perspective of the rest of the world. Shared GOOD judgement instead of tear down politics. Sounds tough to beat! Now if John Edwards would agree to be Attorney General…pretty dominating force.

Trina   March 21st, 2008 2:20 pm ET

What took him so long? I hope this endorsement starts to the mend the democratic wounds so that we can take the White House in the upcoming election. Where are the rest of the superdelegates? Get on board please…time is a wasting.

Fabienne   March 21st, 2008 2:20 pm ET

That's a major endosement! That only proves that Barack Obama is the one! The maths are very tough on Sen Clinton now. Hope she majors in miracle like Ockabee because she desperately needs one!

Let's stop fighting and back up the one that is much closer to win this nomination and more qualify to beat John McCain: Obama!

Obama has not only shown us that he has bad judgment and is a liar but now he can add hypocrite to his impressive resume. Hillary won New Mexico. Bill Richardson, a superdelegate, should support Hillary according to Obama's argument. If Barack does manage to make it to the White House, I can't wait to see what back door, untransparent deal he cut with all the good all boys that support him like Richardson, Kerry and Teddy.

This a strong message to the super delegates and party it is time to unite.

AR   March 21st, 2008 2:16 pm ET

Bill Richardson is a very smart and very wise man. He is able to see what some have seen but many have yet to see, let alone understand. He knows it'll be very bad for the country to lose this rare opportunity which may never come around again for a very long time. Eight years from now, with Obama as the president, this country will look back and say WOW!! we didn't think all that was possible and how come no-one has ever done these. And yes, this country would also wish that Obama remains in office but he can't. Remember this comment.

Betty   March 21st, 2008 2:16 pm ET

I had begun to wonder, during this current trend to discredit Sen. Obama, if someone would step forward and acknowledge the consistency of Senator Obama's campaign! Not once has he dispayed the Clinton attitude of "win at all cost". Her position changes with each situation if it gives her an advantage, which makes one think she would sell her soul to win this election. George Bush only concerned himself with what he wanted and that he would twist the truth to get his way. These tactics seem to appeal to many and I had begun to lose hope that the honesty of a campaign would be mean anything, so the endorsement of Gov. Richardson reminds me that change is still possible.

Don   March 21st, 2008 2:15 pm ET

Great endorsement from someone who is well respected for his honesty, hard work, loyalty to America and who represents an increasingly large segment of our population. This could very well serve to confirm that Obama will be the nominee as other super delegates will follow as well they should.

Obamarama   March 21st, 2008 2:15 pm ET

Thank God there are people who actually listens to truth, honesty, boldness, and integrity. Obama emptied himself to America. He should be rewarded. Richardson is a great statesman.
Obama want to lead on a very tough issue that no polititian except perhaps, Abraham Lincolm is bold enough to touch.

Illinois   March 21st, 2008 2:15 pm ET

This guy, Richardson, is playing political game. Should we trust him or Obama. The answer is "NO". The Obama guy is even worse, he is a liar. He said he had never heard what his crazy pastor said, but in his speech he confirmed that?????????????

karen   March 21st, 2008 2:15 pm ET

Its good to see the good in Obama has been reflected in his speech as he maintain the idea of his strong belief in unity .The gov has recognized the will of Obama and made a good choice ….it is now Hilary "s turn to realise the best person to represent the party is Obama …sometimes our strength is in our belief and not our mouth.

Good endorsement Gov…

Ticket of Hope: OBAMA Al Gore   March 21st, 2008 2:14 pm ET

Thank you Bill – we Americans love you as much as you love America. Now it is time for other democratic leaders to come forward, endorse Obama and give an end to this in-fighting that can only benefit McCain.

Jan   March 21st, 2008 2:13 pm ET

Obamas speeches are becoming very boring , self-serving and preacher-like. The debates were much more stimulating and interesting. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that he loves to hear praise about himself. How about a little more down to earth reporting,CNN? If he could only say something new and prove he has has solutions! Will someone please advise Mr Obama that this election is about the American people and not about Barrack and his not so unprivileged background (loving grandparents with wealth-Ivy league and private schools)

brian   March 21st, 2008 2:13 pm ET

Bill Richardson might have been seeking running mate as Hillary camp was sending out signals to Obama camp offering him as her running mate.

nn   March 21st, 2008 2:13 pm ET

Has anyone noticed that every endorsement Obama gets is on the front page of all the news web sites and when Clinton gets an endorsement like John Murtha endorsement the other day all the networks put it somewhere that nobody could see. Even on the TV Obama endorsements are the first big news and Clinton's barely makes it to end of the news.

CNN and MSNBC all these networks are disgrace to balanced journalism. I am sick of the coverage of these news media.
And I am sure my comments will not be posted.

Ray Ito   March 21st, 2008 2:12 pm ET

Here comes Obama's Secretary of State!
Gov. Richardson is a true leader who could not be swayed by Bill Clinton's secret fireside chat visit. The rest superdelegates should stand up for what is right and follow Richardson's example. This is a new age for a new kind of politics.
Only by going this way can the Dems win the White House. A huge plus for Obama and America!

R.S.   March 21st, 2008 2:09 pm ET

Why didn't I see an extensive coverage of Rep. Murtha endorcing senator Clinton or many other very important endorcements that Hillary Clinton has received by now.
But all airwaves on cable, including CNN, spent the entire morning talking about Gov.Richardson's endorcement of Senator Obama and the entire rally was filling the cable for almost an hour.

CNN and MSNBC continue their efforts to promote Obama over all other candidates.

Hillary Clinton is one candidate that CAN and WILL deliver CHANGE that we so desperately need in our country.

The race speech was a plus to get Richardson's endorsement. It might not help Obama in the primaries left but it should hold or move more super delegates. It's all about the delegates in the end.
Obama never heard the bad sermons by Wright. Plus he is only his minister. His minister was retired when he started running for President. I was mad at my priest last election when we he said we should support Bush to go to war. Look at all the people who have died now and others injured and they and us will be dealing with their problems for the rest of their lives when the facts for going to war had not been proven. Also my church has had problems with their own morality of dealing with abuse. I

Senator Obama has shown us a better way, he takes the higher road, while Clinton, takes the lower path every time. She is the 'old' America.

The new awakened Global America can only happen with a radical change, and Obama is that change.

Which demonstrates how he will put our country back on the 'right road' when he is elected President. As the President of our country, he will enable us to have a renewed pride and spirit in our Nation, and it's leader.
Really listen and look at him and you won't be able to deny he is the type of man the American people desperately needs to renew their faith in their country..

Bull. The reason Richardson endorsed Obama is because Obama had no choice but to offer him the VP nod. He cannot win the GE as it is and with the hispanic vote, maybe it won't be a landslide.

Obama wasn't chosen by the people to be the Presidential Nominee but by the media who keeps him front and center regardless of what comes out of his closet. He (Obama) has been shoved down our throats. And being that the media is owned by the GOP, don't you think there is a reason for it?

It is unfair that the media is portraying this as a devastating blow to Senator Clinton. Why not spend more time showing all of the black superdelegates voting for Clinton? Or better yet, why not address the issue that black superdelegates have felt "pressured" to vote for Senator Obama? It is true that Richardson is friends with the Clinton's. And as friends, I believe the Clinton's respect him enough to make his own choices. Everyone would be a little sad if a friend of theirs sided with the competition; however, people can make their own choices without hurting friendships. This is America!

charlie in Philly   March 21st, 2008 2:01 pm ET

Unless I am wrong, that makes three Presidential candidates who have endorsed Obama – Richardson, Dodd & Kucinich – it is time to unify!

ron   March 21st, 2008 2:01 pm ET

very disapointed in him, but with no more hispanic states, it will do no good. besides, obama tried using the kennedys to endorse hispanic, and lost big time. Hispanic will nevert vote for obama. purely for the fact that he is inexpirence and racist. The only historic candidate is Hiliary

Zina   March 21st, 2008 2:00 pm ET

The endorsement was amazing to watch. You can tell they are men of great character and want the best for this nation. Democrats, lets unite no matter who the candidate is.

Obama '08

michael, ny   March 21st, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Richardson knows better.

Clinton contiues to exagerate her fund raising. Her $34.7 Million February was really only $19.6 after you subtract her own loan of $5 million, plus $10 million she moved from a Senate campaign fund.

Eric   March 21st, 2008 1:59 pm ET

He sure would be an historic president, however, not for the better. I'm very surprised in Richardson. I thought he would do the right think and chose the right person for the job, Hillary Clinton. Richardson displayed a lack of judgement today and wants to ruin it for the Democrats. After hering about Obama and Wright I don't see how anyone in the right mind could vote for Obama. I will vote for McCain if Obama gets the nomination. PA voter.

froggy   March 21st, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Clinton can not win. It is mathematically imposssible. If the super delegates give it to her, it will be seen as the same old sleazy do anything to win Clintonista tricks. The nation is TIRED of the Clintons and their baggage.

Hillary and Bill, do us all a favor anfd just go away!!!

Jonathan   March 21st, 2008 1:59 pm ET

He'll definitely be historic…but the question is what kind of history will it be?

MJA   March 21st, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Without the Clinton's Bill would be nothing. What did Obama promise you? V.P. or cabinet position? What a joke

Caly   March 21st, 2008 1:58 pm ET

Obama/Richardson 08 ?

Kris from AZ   March 21st, 2008 1:58 pm ET

A former Clinton aid endorsing Obama. Now that speaks volumes! Hillary is not to be trusted.

rose   March 21st, 2008 1:58 pm ET

this is it! GO OBAMA.

Ben, College Park, MD   March 21st, 2008 1:58 pm ET

It's great that the party leaders seem to come together to end the fight inside our party. I appreciate Gov. Richardson's brave act in the time of difficulty for Sen. Obama's camp.

But I wish he'd done it before Texas, because it could have ended all this considering the narrow margin of Sen. Clinton's victory.

To be honest I also love to see Gov. Richardson as Sen. Obama's running-mate. His experience in every stage is just invaluable for the country.

Stacy Clarks, Texas   March 21st, 2008 1:58 pm ET

GO RICHARDSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laura   March 21st, 2008 1:58 pm ET

I think this is really excellent news. I wonder if there is any chance we'll see an Obama/Richardson ticket?

Ernie   March 21st, 2008 1:57 pm ET

Let's not be so naive to believe that Senator Obama will not be a once in a lifetime person of change that is more than capable and willing to navigate America better than any one person in the public eye today. Senator Clinton has proven time and again that she will stoop to new lows and do ANYTHING to get back into the White House, to include ostracizing the Democratic Party and Americans. I'm sick and tired of her and her camps tactics. She avoids the real issues that we care about and isn't letting up on her unmerited attacks on Senator Obama. Look at the issues and you will be enlightened.

prakash chand   March 21st, 2008 1:56 pm ET

Too little too late.

Edwina R.   March 21st, 2008 1:55 pm ET

It is a shame that Bill Richardson has decided that it would be his best chance at the second seat, Vice President , by endorsing Obama. Great President? Nope, historic ? offcourse, just as Hillary would be.

Judgment is Lacking....   March 21st, 2008 1:55 pm ET

Who cares…The speach did not answer the questions. That is what Obama does, he delivers good speaches but answers no questions.

Sly Domber   March 21st, 2008 1:55 pm ET

Richardson for VP! Denis supports Obama; Dowd supports OBama; Now Richardson…all of whom ran for president. What does it say about Hillary? Time to go home, HRC!

Anne E.   March 21st, 2008 1:55 pm ET

Kudos, Governor! That makes two of you; time to give a nudge to Edwards, Biden, et al.! I look forward to seeing you in a cabinet position in the Obama administration!

CR   March 21st, 2008 1:54 pm ET

Holding true to form Hillary dismissed Richardson's endorsement the same way she dismissed every state Obama won so far (and all the people whose voices have already been heard, Mrs. Clinton).

If Richardson's endorsement was irrelevant to her why has she and her husband been pandering for his endorsement since he dropped out of the race?

Gwendolyn   March 21st, 2008 1:54 pm ET

Looks like Gov Richardson is hoping for a Cabinet position again. Well, at least he has international experience. Obama will do OK as a President if he can be surrounded by folks who aren't so naive.

Vada   March 21st, 2008 1:54 pm ET

Rather than uniting the races, I fear the endorsement of Bill Richardson might farther separate the races. Instead of voting for the individual that can best serve ALL the races, I fear that now (even more so), it will be all about what race the candidate is.

Robert, San Diego   March 21st, 2008 1:54 pm ET

Although this endorsement was a long time in coming, I think it shows that Hispanics and African-Americans have more in common than they would like to believe. Together, only positives can be expected.

clark   March 21st, 2008 1:54 pm ET

i was touched by his speach also, it was very personal and sincere… having a biracial son i can tell you he was speaking from the heart

Independent Voter   March 21st, 2008 1:53 pm ET

Heeee's Baaaack!!!! Obama is back and is in full effect.

Si Se Puede! 08

Diane T   March 21st, 2008 1:53 pm ET

Bill Richardson is a big phony and two-face. He supposed to be a good friend of the Clinton's and now he back stabs them. I have seen phony people in my lifetime, but Richardson takes the cake!

Bob   March 21st, 2008 1:53 pm ET

Obama has been saying that the superdelagates should follow the will of their constituencies… Obama lost in NM… so under Obama's own words, Bill should be supporting Hillary.

Charlotte   March 21st, 2008 1:51 pm ET

Still no flag pin on Obama?

Marc   March 21st, 2008 1:51 pm ET

Way to wait until after Texas voted. Richardson, I hope who ever wins the nomination leaves you off their short list for veep. You're a terrible debater, by the way.

Seam   March 21st, 2008 1:51 pm ET

He appealed to the best in us? are you really serious? Obama has loss my support! the more i know him the less i like him. If i could turn back time and media should have exposed about this guy months ago! I felt so blindsided!

Proud American   March 21st, 2008 1:51 pm ET

Common sense will prevail.
Obama '08

Gail   March 21st, 2008 1:51 pm ET

All respect for Richardson out the window. He is a bad judge of character.

Bob, Florida-RFO   March 21st, 2008 1:50 pm ET

Thanks Governor Richardson, excellent endorsement!

Go Barack '08

Sue   March 21st, 2008 1:50 pm ET

Fantastic, Bill Richardson!!! And great timing! Hopefully more endorsements of Obama will follow.
I think an Obama/Richardson ticket would be unbeatable!!! At the very least, Richardson should be Secretary of State!

Nancy Mengshol   March 21st, 2008 1:50 pm ET

After eight years of the Bush smirk, get ready for the Obama snear. This pandering toan icon who is completely ill-prepared for the presidency is sickening……..I'm not reading any more news until the election….will vote for Obama only to save the Supreme Court.

gerry   March 21st, 2008 1:50 pm ET

Tremendous endorsement for Obama. It's sure to help him with the Latin vote.

JW from Washington, DC   March 21st, 2008 1:50 pm ET

Way to go Bill! Seeing as Richardson used to work for President Clinton, I think this endorsement means a lot. I generally don't think they mean much, but I am glad to see Richardson wasn't bullied by the Clintons to endorse Billary. WAY TO GO.

Zak   March 21st, 2008 1:50 pm ET

Awesome awesome, this should help things along.

Obama 08′

Nigel   March 21st, 2008 1:49 pm ET

Very Dissapointed; He betrayed US!!!! But Hillary will get the nomination without his help!!!!

politcal thinker   March 21st, 2008 1:49 pm ET

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus he's a super delegate! Sorry Hill, maybe in 2012.

chantal   March 21st, 2008 1:49 pm ET

it smell VP, one is unpatriotic and the other one unfaithfull where the US is going? At this rate I think Senator McCain chance are groing by the minute

Paul from Kissimmee   March 21st, 2008 1:49 pm ET

Let's see. Clinton or Obama? What the heck. I'll endorse the front runner Obama. That was a really big decision.

Ben   March 21st, 2008 1:49 pm ET

I wonder what backroom deals took place here? Richardson (whom i liked a lot as a candidate) turned his back on his friend for this guy! What a joke. How much do you want to bet that Richardson will be Obama's VP if he gets the nomination….

Carl, ND   March 21st, 2008 1:48 pm ET

Two minorities, even though Americans are changing will never work. The country is not ready. Don't put him or Hillary on the ticket or the Dems are doomed.

Obama 08

No to Hillary and Richardson for the VP

Matt C   March 21st, 2008 1:47 pm ET

I hope this helps quell Hispanic Americans' fear of a Black candidate.

Michelle, VA   March 21st, 2008 1:47 pm ET

It's nice to see that there are some who can still think for themselves. I have a dream ticket suggestion: Sen. Obama and Gov. Richardson.

April in Texas   March 21st, 2008 1:47 pm ET

Awesome! Lets come together democrats otherwise we will get stuck with 4 more years of the same old stuff.

Monte   March 21st, 2008 1:47 pm ET

One needs to aks, "What was Richardson promised by Obama, VP or some other position"? It means nothing except he stabbed the Clinton's in the back. Guess superdelagates don't have to go the way their state voted – New Mexico voted for Hillary. Richardson's public career is over.
Richardson just proved that he can't be trusted, guess he approvesof Rev. Wright's comments.
As a "typical white woman", I am deeply offended by Obama's remarks as should every American be.

Kevin   March 21st, 2008 1:47 pm ET

The races and the democratic party are coming together.

To those of you who think this endorsement means nothing, look at Richardson's diplomacy record; he is a political figure who knows how to work with the world and gain respect. We need that. Let's move forward!

Kim   March 21st, 2008 1:47 pm ET

must have been promised the VP position. I hope all of these politicians are ready to take responsibility for their decisions when this man takes our country down the drain.

Steven Furtado, Kunkletown PA   March 21st, 2008 1:47 pm ET

I'm glad Richardson saw what the speech was really about rather than dissect it like the talking heads on the news networks. As much as I like Obama, I'm grateful that the Clinton campaign is staying out of the Wright controversy. I may not agree with many of the things she does, but I have to give her kudos for that. I hope she makes a habit of this.

Norm   March 21st, 2008 1:46 pm ET

If this endorsement gets him to Nominee ,I give up on the Democratic party

Mr. C.   March 21st, 2008 1:46 pm ET

WOW Senator clinton shrugged it off.. Hmm… says much about her Monstrous behavior.

anita   March 21st, 2008 1:45 pm ET

"historic president"

Historically inept and without courage.
A continuation of the current president's qualifications.

txpoodoo   March 21st, 2008 1:45 pm ET

Good speach by Mr. Richardson. The two seemed at ease with each other on stage, unlike Romney and McCain.

CCS   March 21st, 2008 1:45 pm ET

Yes! Now all we need if for the two of them to be on an Obama-Richardson ticket! That's my kind of dream team!

debbie   March 21st, 2008 1:45 pm ET

No distancing there!!!!!!

Let's go DEMOS Let's go!!!!!!!!

Sara   March 21st, 2008 1:44 pm ET

Excellent endorsement. OBAMA 08′

Michael   March 21st, 2008 1:44 pm ET

Welcome aboard Bill!!! Glad to have you!

Charlotte   March 21st, 2008 1:43 pm ET

I saw the speech, the usually redundant speech by Obama. The urgency of now,MLK, and I did not vote for the war. Is this all there is to him? Why do people want to hear the same thing over and over?

Obama the other white meat   March 21st, 2008 1:42 pm ET

Obama paid off another person. Richardson is dumb because he just now rode the coat tails of a fallen angel. All the issues of Obama are starting to surface and the end is near for his political career.

Thank you Gov. Richardson!   March 21st, 2008 1:42 pm ET

What a fantastic endorsement! Thank you Gov. Richardson for doing the right thing!

viva la Obama 008   March 21st, 2008 1:42 pm ET

does obama have a plan for mexico?

Barbara   March 21st, 2008 1:41 pm ET

We will never vote for Obama.
