Murtha campaigned with Clinton in his home district in Pennsylvania.

LATROBE, Pennsylvania (CNN) – Rep. John Murtha's endorsement of Hillary Clinton on March 18 came at a welcome moment for the Democratic candidate: it was only her second endorsement from a superdelegate over the course of several weeks.

On Monday evening in his home district, the anti-war champion and 17-term congressman campaigned with Clinton for the first time and explained his presidential pick.

"Let me tell you something," Murtha said, taking the microphone from Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell. "I have served with seven presidents, and they all got gray hair except for Reagan. Anybody that’s been in the White House for eight years knows how tough it is, understands, has the experience that you need to be president of the United States."

Murtha said he is "convinced that we are in one of the worst situations that I have seen in the 35 years I have been in Congress," but argued that Clinton is “a person that understands the policy" who can restore "our credibility worldwide."

Rendell praised him for vocalizing his opposition to the Iraq war in 2005 and joked that "Jack Murtha is so important to Pennsylvania and has done so much for us that I almost considered having the historic commission put up one of those markers outside his house."

Clinton said she was honored to have Murtha's endorsement.

Hallelujah to Congressman Murtha!

Larry Buchas   March 24th, 2008 9:31 pm ET

Murtha decided to join the minority. He represents the older wing of the party. Just what we need, the old wing of the Democrats versus the old wing of Republicans.

Their way is the old way. They represent the setting sun. Most prefer a rising sun.

Pat Va   March 24th, 2008 9:31 pm ET

Poor, pitiful Hillary…is this the best you can do???

Herman   March 24th, 2008 9:32 pm ET

Yep bring out the old generation to lead us into the 21 century give me a break. These people are the ones who have the country like it is because they don't know how to bring anything new.

Veronica   March 24th, 2008 9:33 pm ET

Exactly, that's why we're in the mess were in now! Another old school politician. When Bill Clinton got into the white house he was young. So whatever Mr. Murtha, let the younger generation take over now. If all of those old school politicians knew so much, why are we (USA) in such a mess!

Vig   March 24th, 2008 9:35 pm ET

Obama is laying on his buttocks in St. Thomas - is this the same guy who chants change we can believe in? He's just coasting - this gives you a glimpse of how he really is not a work horse - he's a talker.

justpaul   March 24th, 2008 9:36 pm ET

Wow. So according to Murtha, Chelsea Clinton, the Bush twins, Eleanor Roosevelt, and even Barbara Bush's dog Millie all have what it takes to be president. Clearly Jack doesn't think it takes much, which explains his choice of Clinton.

Luthorcrow   March 24th, 2008 9:36 pm ET

Big surprise, aren't dinosaurs part of HRC's base?

Honestly, Murtha carries weight for the beltway but not main street. But is disappointing that he wasn't able to look past the generational gap and do the right thing. Back HRC at this point is just another way to drag the Democratic party down into the mud.

It's time to win kids, put away the toys and back Obama. We are at the point that HRC has no way to win other than backroom dealing which would not be good for the party are a winning ticket against the biggest dinosaur of all, McCain.

The Scales of Justice!!

Political Jonze   March 24th, 2008 9:37 pm ET

I thought endorsements don't matter anyways? So can Mighty Murtha be dragged though the mud by the Obama Camp simply because he chose to support the "other side"? Can he be called "Judas" for backing a pro-war candidate?

Doc Jerome   March 24th, 2008 9:37 pm ET

Some old dogs just refuse to learn new tricks. Murtha is one of those, with even less courage.

Terell   March 24th, 2008 9:40 pm ET

Isn't Mutha's endorsement as important as Bill Richardson's? After all, Murtha is an icon of democrat politics. One other thing: what happened to the campaign of hope Obama was running? All these negative attacks coming from the candidate of hope. Perhaps Obama is no different than any other politician. America should not gamble on an inexperienced candidate.

Beyonce Pride   March 24th, 2008 9:40 pm ET

He is extremely intelligent and aware of America and the issues at hand. His judgement is very sound and to go with HIllary only continues his path of good judgement.

Venus   March 24th, 2008 9:42 pm ET

Wow! No wonder we need a change! It's funny - after Obama's speech last week - it appeared things were getting quite - then bam!!! Thousands stood in lines in two places in Oregon - on Saturday a crowd of 12,000 people! This morning I watched Hillary's speech with a crowd of 150—- Change - Yes we can and will! Devil in the Blue Dress, Blue Dress…

memoryaid   March 24th, 2008 9:42 pm ET

Murtha had great judgment on Iraq, but he's more corrupt than most republicans out there. Look it up.

We're seeing this become more and more an election of big interest representatives vs. Obama. Maybe that's why even Clinton is supporting McCain.

Thats why he supported Sen.Clinton.

Hillary 08
Dont let the media, Obama, Pelosi or the like force you to turn over the nomination to Obama.

The campaign goes on … all the way to Denver if it needs be.

There is nothing democratic about ignoring the voters of MI and FL.

The nomination of Obama is ILLEGITIMATE without a revote in MI and FL..

And we want no part of an ILLEGITIMATE nomination.

I will sooner vote MCCain over Obama.

mari   March 24th, 2008 9:45 pm ET

It is exciting to see that a democrat came out and endorsed Hillary'. It shows that people with real inside knowledge of what it really takes to be the president of the United States of America. A real hard working true democrat who trully loves her country!

Jamal   March 24th, 2008 9:47 pm ET

I ask Obama's supporters that why do you people are acting so stupid and biased? Just ask yourselves for a minute, if you'd have really supported this guy unless you'd have been fed with a very biased info about Obama!! I mean the media is hardly challenging him, and you want to select a person for a President just on the basis that he strikes an emotional chord with us!
Isn't it the same philosophy we adopted when we selected Bush as a President 8yrs back, that he sounds like and he is one of us!!
We do need a fighter, one who wont give up easily, and i think i'm starting to Hillary for that matter.
As a lady, she has shown guts to fight the media and the hardcore liberal democrat activists like us. And she is not fighting us to snatch the food from our plates, but for an opportunity to be given to her so that she can provide more and bring us more prosperity!!
I'm really starting to open up my mind to her. It toolk a long while to open up my biased mind, but it did now.

Leah DiMarco, TX   March 24th, 2008 9:47 pm ET

Dear Hillary - please do the right thing and drop out of the race and go back to your senate job. America is ready for new leadership that will lead us into the future. Senator Obama is a person of courage, wisdom, intelligence, and integrity - America will be safe in his hands.

Gary in CT   March 24th, 2008 9:48 pm ET

We are NEVER going to have change in Washington if we keep allowing politicians to get relected SIXTEEN TIMES!!!! This is what Hillary stands for.

Experience? Eight years of pillow-talk with the POTUS? GIVE ME A BREAK!

This is what Hillary wants to continue doing in Washington….get all these Washington longtermers together and continue to screw the country some more! ENOUGH! Get rid of Hillary and these kinds of bozos.

Independant/Iowa   March 24th, 2008 9:48 pm ET

At least you deleated my comment on Murtha being #1 in the pork barrel parade and followed by clinton in 10th place.

As apposed to just letting it hang for 27 hrs as you did last 2 time

See what CNN does with this one.

Jim   March 24th, 2008 9:48 pm ET

Black boy running for our highest office. This black boy has been lying to American public and is resorting to dirty and negative politics. If you ask any minorities other than blacks, they will tell you they have been discriminated by blacks more than any race in this country. Obama is the worst kind of politics. Bring the race issue on the table and blames everyone if they use the race card. He feels that he is the only one who has the right to play the race card.

Bill Jergens   March 24th, 2008 9:48 pm ET

This is actually really big for Hillary. Obama keeps on using his speech about judgement and 2002. Well John Murtha has been the strongest opponent to the war in Iraq and stood up against it and now he's backing Hillary. His confidence in her in getting out of Iraq safetly and properly as well as the backing of more than 34 generals and admirals as well as 2 joint chiefs of staffs says a lot about the trust and confidence these military leaders have for Hillary.

Thomas   March 24th, 2008 9:49 pm ET

I am very outraged at the comments of some of the people on here. Congressman Murtha is my representative and is a real gentleman and a veteran. This man has served my district very well for over 30 years and you people are on here slamming this great man for some mysterious person who has been a senator for 2 years and running for president for another year. I know CNN and their blatant love affair for Barack Obama, so the chances of this getting posted are slim to nill but you people need to get real. Talking about vague, generic, "change" DOES NOT make you qualifed to be commander in chief. As some would say, "you've been 'bamboozled!'"

Mary   March 24th, 2008 9:50 pm ET

Murtha we share your wisdom in recognizing Hillary Clinton is a brillant person and so ready to lead this country. Pat VA your judgement is so lacking in what Murtha could tell you, that is what is pitiful. While we all like the rising sun it is the setting sun that can tell the story of the the day and lend expectation of what tomorrow may bring. Don't knock age and experience if you are to youg to know about either. Believe me if you live someday you will known what age brings to you life experience.

Mary   March 24th, 2008 9:51 pm ET

I guess us old folks won't be needed if Obama gets the nomination.
This old codger wouldn't give him my vote if Hillary herself asked me to.

ch   March 24th, 2008 9:51 pm ET

This is a big endorsement for Hillary - Murtha is highly respected.

Concerned Canadian   March 24th, 2008 9:52 pm ET

I've asked my American friends why they hate Hillary so much and why she is so bad for the Democrats as nominee for President.
They said they don't know, but they feel that way from the stuff they hear from the media. Hmmm.

The media asked people leaving exit poles and those who just listened to one of Barack's stump speech , why they are supporting Barack..they say not sure or I don't know..just do. Hmmm.

So from what I observe, most of the electorate is influenced in some way or another to support a candidate without a plausible explanation in doing so. Fascinating. Power of persuasion at its best.

dave   March 24th, 2008 9:52 pm ET

YOU GO JOHN!

Tim   March 24th, 2008 9:52 pm ET

Good job! I was an Obama supporter but after last week go Hillary or MCcain! Obama claims he is the new generation but he is the same old politicians. Ted Kennedy and John Kerry are also old politicians!

Puddytat   March 24th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Fine …. anybody but McCain

Charlotte   March 24th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

How old is Ted Kennedy? Obama-bots get real. This man knows who can do the job, he knows Hillary has what it takes to get it done.

Hill Yes   March 24th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

Unlike some of Obama's endorsers, Murtha has integrity. He was a vocal opponent of continuing the war in Iraq. He is an honest, decent and kind man who knows what it means to be loyal and to have honor, again, unlike Obama's supporters.

Brian   March 24th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

17 terms? ROTFLMAO If NOTHING else abput Clinton screamed to "Politics as Usual" this endorsment does….hope that works for ya Hillary…climb on that horse and hope the American public dosen't see how bought and paid for you truly are.

justobserve   March 24th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

Who is more experienced than McCain? What experiences Clinton has had are quite bad to be proud of ( all the time defend her husband, failed healthcare change, overseas holidays paid by taxpayers, but as her and her supporters' spins go, if it is bad, you learn from it; if it is good, you drum it up. A win-win position for her. But if her opponent has experiences? Sorry, they are not counted or insignificant! It's these kind of superdelegates that do more harms to the party than good to support Clinton's delusional cling to power at this late stage. She wants to destroy Obama so she can try again in 2012. She doesn't care about the party, only her own ambition.

in phoenix   March 24th, 2008 9:56 pm ET

Get with it! Youare so easily led! Obama is saying that he is the "different candidate", that he will "change" the way politics is done in Washington….but Obama is from Washington! He is speaking from a position won in Washington and a part of Washington. Obama says he is different, but his campaign sounds the same….except when Clinton's campaign calls him on something, then Obama says "politics as usual"! This is the same old story clothed in new dress!!! You cannot be apart of the establishment and at the same time separate from the separate and "above" the establishment.. Wake up!!!

dlr   March 24th, 2008 9:56 pm ET

Old school politic thinking. She is behind the times like her supporters (i.e. former politicians) and will not be able to move the country ind a different direction. Just more of the same old Bush thinking, but on the democratic side. Misrepresentation and secrecy of information. Where is her integrity…..At any cost, one loses integrity…

Judy   March 24th, 2008 9:56 pm ET

Rep. Murtha has served Pennsylvania for 17 terms. I have heard no negative charges against him. Now I will wait to see how Senator Obama's campaign and supporters will tear him down. I am sure that some will say that he represents the "old wing Democrats"; well guess what; Kennedy is "old wing Democrat" AND he ignored the voters in his own state to support Senator Obama. Should the voters trust superdelegates who ignore the will of the people in their own states? If they can ignore their own states voters than lets hope that if Senator Obama becomes president that he does not appoint any of these people because if he does than he will be no different than Bush who also ignores the will of the people.

FEDUP   March 24th, 2008 9:57 pm ET

Michael   March 24th, 2008 9:58 pm ET

I think this is good news for Hillary Clinton because Murtha is a long time respected Democrat and a war hero. I completely agree with Murtha, Hillary is the right choice. I do however think Gov. Richardson was wrong to endorse Obama because Hillary won the state of NM and Richardson is going against the majority of the voters in his state. Back to Murtha, he made an excellent point, Hillary can restore the credibility of our great nation around the world however, if Obama were to get the nomination I think he will lose due to the offensive comments made by his former Pastor. Obama did say he disagrees with the comments made yet he has been going to that church for 20 years which does raise questions in my mind about his judgement and I wouldn't vote for Obama if he did get the nomination. I'm sticking with Hillary.

KE   March 24th, 2008 9:59 pm ET

Go, Hillary. I think she has the best chance winning in November just like it was for Bill Clinton. Tried and proven fact.,

Everybody else who are picking on Hillary's credential is like focusing on the missing button of her achievements. Obama's got a easy ride. But now Obama camp is flailing. None of their endorsers make sense like Hillary's endorsers does.

Maybe it's time America stop formative action and give everybody healthcare, that's fair.

In Denver convention no one will freak out for outcome just like no one freaked out on the decision made by Obama camp not to count Michigan and Florida votes and few delegates went for Obama against the outcome of their own states.

Go, Hillary!

Jermaine   March 24th, 2008 10:01 pm ET

I must LAUGHT OUT LOUD because Hillary is "honored" to have his support, however when Govenor Richardson endorse OBAMA she SCREAM OUT LOUD!

This woman is beyond contempt, Americans should take notice that Hillary would be worst than NIXON! Murtha is another ANGRY prehistoric dinasour from the Democratic party. What all this hatred from the Hillary camp is about is that Bill and Hillary, and Terry Mac engineered what was to be a coronation for Hillary. They never saw HOPE and the LIGHT of the world on the horizon, they discounted and brush off OBAMA but Americans are Hungry for something new and that is neither Hillary nor Mccain, it is OBAMA and the change we seek and now he will bring.

Billary put Dean in charge of the DNC in order for him to sit out the election so Hillary would be in. They agree in August of 2006 not to make MI & FL nor any state moved up their Primary, and in 2007 they Punish both states with Billary full support. Today all seem to change in the name of Power. Billary overstated her experience but now her chicken is comming home to ROASTS! As my grandmother always say, your lies will catch up with you in the end and God bless your soul. Hillary is so POWER HUNGRY that although she know she cannot win fairly she and all her Pre hsitoric supporters from the Dems who back then were very anti- civil rights until a northerner named Kennedy force it down their throats, now we know what they really think.
Hillary need to go look for that BLJUE DRESS, YES IT NEED TO BE SAID EVERY TIME WE HEAR IT WE REMEMBER WHAT THE CLINTONS BRING TO THE TABLE. NOTHING BUT DEVISIVENESS!

It is a new dawn in America!

OBAMA-GORE 08

Edward J. McDonald   March 24th, 2008 10:02 pm ET

Murtha is a stand up Viet Nam veteran. Pennsylvania knows which end of a mule to hook up to. We're not fooled by white liberal guilt. We're not idiots! In this election Hillary makes sense. I would never vote for Bill but I will vote for her. Oh by the way quit telling her to give up. Thats not the Old American way and it's not the Pennsylvania way. In Pa. you don't quit till your beat. Just ask a Philadelphia club fighter when they raise his hand in victory but his face is a bloody pulp.

Tex   March 24th, 2008 10:02 pm ET

I am sure Hillary would be proud to accept "any" endorsement even Murtha's. Murtha is another one of the old politicos like Clinton who supported Bush and voted for war against Iraq. Always interesting to show that bothMurtha and Hillary lacked the right judgement then in voting for the war. Murtha is still exhibiting his bad judgement in endorsing Hillary. I wonder what he has been promised.

Likewise, for Murtha to say Hillary has the experience to be President of the United States based upon her residing in the White House for eight years is like what someone else wrote on another CNN article:

"TO SAY THAT HILLARY HAS PRESIDENTAL EXPERIENCE IS LIKE SAYING THAT YOKO ONO WAS A BEATLE…………."

maya   March 24th, 2008 10:03 pm ET

Several of these comments show what political newbs the Obama supporters are. Rep. Murtha is a huge deal. Very respected. Anti-war- actively stood up against it. In fact, some Obama people thought he'd go that way because of that…

I don't want the Democratic party taken over by a bunch of unpredictable newbies…..we can't afford to lose this election…

Chris   March 24th, 2008 10:03 pm ET

Oh brother..Murtha knows that if Obama takes power, he is out of job. Murtha is not willing to change. Please leave the political business. This country needs progressive individuals and not go backwards.

Barack Obama - President of United States of America

Murtha - Saudi Scam (Abscam investigation)

John Murtha with Governor Robert P. Casey.
In 1980, during his third term as a Congressman, Murtha became embroiled in the Abscam investigation, which targeted dozens of congressmen. The investigation entailed FBI operatives posing as intermediaries for Saudi nationals hoping to bribe their way through the immigration process into the United States. Murtha met with these operatives and was videotaped; ultimately, he was named an "unindicted co-conspirator"[3] but he was never indicted or charged. He did agree to testify against Frank Thompson (D-NJ) and John Murphy (D-NY), the two Congressmen mentioned as participants in the deal at the same meeting and who were later video taped placing the cash bribes in their trousers. The FBI videotaped Murtha responding to an offer of $50,000, with Murtha saying, "I'm not interested… at this point. [If] we do business for a while, maybe I'll be interested, maybe I won't", right after Murtha had offered to provide names of businesses and banks in his district where money could be invested legally.[5] The U.S. Attorneys Office reasoned that Murtha's intent was to obtain investment in his district. Full length viewing of the tape shows Murtha citing prospective investment opportunities that could return "500 or 1000″ miners to work.

In phoenix - you are right on the money. Obama is playing smoke and mirrors. How can he fingerpoint at the same people he will need to build coalitions with to get things done?
When will the press wake up (especially CNN!) and realize that Obama is another Jimmy Carter - maybe potential greatness as a statesman, but not as president. HOPE alone won't get things done, but will lead to another gas crisis, inflation and lack of reality in dealing with foreign policy.
The truth is he ran too soon and will make a great VP. Wake up America - this isn't the time to be hip and try the latest fad, your future is on the line! Hillary 2008; Barack 2016.

It looks like a lot of young Obama supporters have nothing but contempt for the older generation. You think experience doesn't matter and that people who have worked for so many years to make America a better place should be ridiculed and marginalized. I guess we'll have the last laugh in November when McCain wins in a landslide over Obama.

Independent Voter from Texas   March 24th, 2008 10:04 pm ET

Uhhh…Murtha already endorsed Hillary so I don't get the DEBUT. Oh that's right, she doesn't have anyone to counter Richardson's endorsement so she just "parades" him out again. Ok I get it now.

Really Hillary, you didn't have to create such a whopping BIG lie about your Bosnia trip. We all knew you were lying about your experience. But that Bosnia FAIRY TALE is so disgusting even for you. You even knew Chelsea was there with you for goodness sakes. Again, you really think we voters are that stupid…you think the press couldn't check it out?

Shame on YOU Hillary Clinton. Well maybe the real shame here is for the idiots who really believed you.

Maryann   March 24th, 2008 10:05 pm ET

Not long ago I was very open minded and undecided about this election. Needless to say, thngs have changed.
There are a few questions I have for the news media.
Why is it Hillary Rodham Clinton and Not Barrach Hussein Obama?
Could it be you are afraid of an unjustified slant with using his name?
What about the way the media has been reporting the news with quite a slant towards getting Obama elected?
I don't believe a clergyman who preached with such hate and said "GOD DAM AMERICA" never before talked to Obama before like that. That is a bunch of garbage!!! I don't trust Obama now, I believe he is a liar. The only thing he has going in his favor is a golden tongue to preach. I wish more AMERICANS would wake up and see exactly what is happening.
I do no believe we have ever had an election where the media is so prejeduced against a candidate before (Sen. Clinton). It is wrong people and lets wake up. The only thing Obama has proven is that he knows what to say to get people rallying. Please look at the reporting and reconsider what is going on!!!
NEWS MEDIA: Why don't you do a story or some good reporting on how we are being threatened with a race riot if Obama is not elected? That really changed my mind on Obama. I do not believe he is neutral of this race issure. Maybe the news media is afraid of the Imus effect? He was wrong, but are we going to constantly live in fear of discussing it especially with the threat of a race riot if Obama is not nominated?

Slap Stick, Florida   March 24th, 2008 10:05 pm ET

Yes Mr. Murtha, we are in a bad situation because the Democratic Congress has done absolutely zilch since taking over Congress 2 years ago. They are too busy questioning professional atheletes about steroids to bother with the real problems facing our country.
And you, Hillary, and Obama are part of the problem. Get Hillary the nomination so this Obama cult followers will go away in November.

I'm a minor, but I'm smart enough to realize that wisdom comes with age. I don't was this so called "new wing" of the Democratic party to be lead by an untested, inexperienced president. Praise to Murtha for endorsing the better candidate. Note to Obama, come back in 8 years.

In the meantime, I will support McCain if Obama is the nominee.

OK, LEMME SEE, the younger generation wants change, Hill supporters scream hooray for a guy that Makes McCain look 20, and you think we are worried? This guy only endorsed Clinton because he is obviously on his way out and needs his pension.

Somebody give him his walking cane when Obama gets the nomination! Some change agent the Clintons are!

LATINOS 4 Hillary   March 24th, 2008 10:14 pm ET

People visit your local Prison or Ghetto..

Observe the NON-interaction between Latinos and African Americans.

There isn't any..

Latinos will not vote for an African Americans..

Bridget   March 24th, 2008 10:14 pm ET

Murtha's a good guy but he unfortunately just invalidated all the statements he's made in the past year by deciding to back a pro-war hawk. What was he thinking? Or was he afraid of the unpleasantness that everyone else who has picked Senator Obama over Senator Clinton has said they had to endure when telling Clinton of their decision not to endorse her?

Edgar   March 24th, 2008 10:15 pm ET

Obama pastor said that America deserved 9-11 and that our goverment placed the Aid virus to kill black people. Americans how can we vote for Barak. Wake up and listen to Murtha and vote for Hillary. She is patriotic and will put America above all else.

dwnlal   March 24th, 2008 10:15 pm ET

Rep Murtha is an important endorsement for Clinton. I just hope the media would give this endorsement as much air time as Obama's. Congratulations to Hillary and like Murtha says, Hillary is a person that understands the policy and who can restore our credibility worldwide. Go Hillary!

Eddie P.   March 24th, 2008 10:18 pm ET

Keep on trucking Hillary . It aint over till the( — )lady sings. Thank you Rep. JOHN MURTHA for your support of Hillary. I thought all the superdelegates had lost their mind. You know!!! kinda like Kennedy ,- Richardson- ,and- BUG EYED PELOSI among others. Obama is no candidate of change, and has anyone asked Richardson if Obama has promissed to make him his running mate if and that's a big IF he wins the nomination. Please someone ask him. Let's see how good Richardson can tell a lie. And if the DNC does not decide on a revote in Florida and Michigan the republicans will have 4 more years in the white house.

Max   March 24th, 2008 10:20 pm ET

She can't restore her own credibility here at home after her Bosnia flap, I'm supposed to believe she can restore our nation's credibility worldwide? Sorry Jack we have a better option and I'm taking it.

It is a 50 state plus Electoral Process - Unity & Mandate   March 24th, 2008 10:21 pm ET

Rep. John Murtha is a great man. He just has the wrong candidate who needs to step down from the campaign trail. When people compare the GOP "winner-take-all" model to the Democratic proportional system, I'd much rather have the Dem system where, even if I am not in the majority, my vote can matter for the Convention. What people seem to forget is that each dedicated delegate also gets to help form the party platform. Once upon a time, that meant a lot more, but it still means a lot to some of us. We're not annointing a king or queen, we're getting the voices that reflect the sum of our party to the Convention, so each has a voice. At the end of this whole thing, it will be important for those Convention delegates, Murtha included, to unite around the Party's nominee. And, by any fair standard, that should already be Barak Obama.

JOHN   March 24th, 2008 10:23 pm ET

HEY JIM READ THIS. MORE VOTES, MORE DELEGATES, MORE STATES, ENDORCEMENT BY RICHARSON, SHE CAN'T CATCH BLACK BOY. NOW SAY IT JIM. PRESIDENT OBAMA. LOL.

Diane   March 24th, 2008 10:23 pm ET

Hillary cannot claim any credit and experience from Bill Clinton’s presidency for being a first lady at White House.
The first argument is she did not have an appropriate title and job description, federal government paid stubs to prove she was actually employed by the Clinton’s Administration. How can she claim anything other than being in proximity?
The second argument is she did not directly involve in writing and negotiating the stipulations and terms of any treaty or accord, no matter it was Northern Ireland’s or Bosnia’s, etc.
The third argument is the photo or video shown that she was hugging a little Bosnian girl for her precious photo op. She did not have any picture to show her under fire or posing by an Abraham Tank in the battlefield. So any indication of Bosnia was a dangerous place (“under snipped fire”) is a lie.

By the same 1st token, McCain cannot take any credit for the troop surge in Iraq; he is not even in the command chain structure of US military. How can he claim any credit? A liar, too. How can Obama keep taking credit of “Opposing the war of Iraq” while he was not even in any position and proximity to do that?
By the same 2nd token, the former President Jimmy Carter cannot claim any credit for the Camp David Peace Accord (Sep 17, 1978), and the final peace treaty between Israel Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat (March 26, 1979). He did not involve directly either in writing of the stipulations or negotiation of terms of the Accord and peace treaty. Jimmy Carter basically provided free accommodations and unlimited Latte using taxpayer money. He should be ashamed of claiming any credit for that. Bill Clinton also cannot claim any credit for the resolution of Croation war or the success of Northern Ireland peace treaty. He was not there nor his signature was on the treaty. If he claimed any credit, what “remaining credit” would be given to British Prime Minister Tony Blair?
By the same 3rd token, Iraq and Afghanistan are no dangerous places for reporters, the President, the Senators, and the Generals. The proofs are videos of these people making lengthy speeches, analysis, unnecessary interviews and some casual jokes. No blown up suicide bombers on the video, no explosion of roadside IED on spot, not even scenes of demonstration. Everybody on the picture and video was smiling. So any reporters who claimed he/she went to Iraq in 2006- 2007 under the blaze or chaos of a Civil War is also lying because he/she stayed in the peaceful Green Zone. I remember seeing a video of president Bush wearing an Arab Traditional Costume dancing with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia in January 2008. I guess he must be on a pleasant vacation trip.
In the real world of business, it is a norm for the CEO, the VPs, the executives, the general manager, the product manager, the development manager, the engineering manager, the team leader down to the engineers who actually designed and made the product, all took credit for the success of a product within their domain. It does not matter whether these managers and executives actually contribute any exotic idea to the design, production and marketing of the product or not. They may just once in a while check and push the schedule, take a nap or remain silent during the meetings, or tell a joke. The successful product will be on all of their resumes.
The role Hillary played was not an ordinary first lady role like Nancy Reagent, Barbara Bush, or Laura Bush. She had an active role and was very involved in every aspect of Bill Clinton’s policies, except she was not on the government payroll. When she represented Bill Clinton to travel to Bosnia (Kosovo), to Northern Ireland, to Palestinian to promote the idea of “a Palestinian State” in 1998, how can Obama’s advisor, the former aide of Clinton Administration, categorize them as if she was on leisure trips?
The Obama’s accusation shows how lack of real world executive experiences Obama and his advisors are if they are not intentionally and maliciously deprived Hillary of her fair share of experience and merits for her non-ordinary first lady role during Bill Clinton’s years. Even more outrageous are: while they discredited her for any merit, they wanted her to bear the brunt of NAFTA, the genocide of Rwanda, the retreat from Somalia, the failure to kill Bin Laden, the divisiveness, and all negativities she took from the Neo Con and Conservative Republicans during that time. Now she had to take the shots from Obama’s camp within the Democratic Party. Only a true warrior bears the scars of injury.

I just know that this won't be posted…
But in the case that I'm wrong, here it goes:

WHY DOESN'T CNN GIVE THE DESERVED SPACE TO THE STORY THAT PROVES THAT HILLARY LIED ABOUT HER TRIP TO BOSNIA?

ON THESE DAYS WE MUST CHECK THE DRUGE REPORT IN ORDER TO GET ACCURATE NEWS…

Медведев   March 24th, 2008 10:24 pm ET

Murtha? I'm sorry it took me about 10 minutes to stop laughing. If this is the best you've got you can go home now. Obama knows what he's doing, his people are holding the torch for freedom until he gets back from the islands. Hillary people, you started this war, now lay down your weapons and concede defeat so we can elect this man. Obama.

Jermaine   March 24th, 2008 10:25 pm ET

HILLARY SUPPORTERS BELIEVE HILLARY SHOULD GET THE NOMINATION BASE ON HER TIME IN THE WHITE HOUSE OR FOR STANDING BY BILLS SIDE DURING BLUEDRESS AND CIGAR GATE. OR MAYBE IT'S HILLARY LIES ABOUT DODGING FROM BULLETS IN BOSNIA, MORE LIES. I WAS IN BOSNIA WHEN HILLARY CAME TO MANY LOCATIONS AND I WAS IN BOSNIA FROM DEC 95-NOV 96. THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS WAS LAND MINE, THE COMEDIAN WAS RIGHT, HE DIDN'T HEAR ANY BULLETS OR MORTARS AND NOW THEIR THE VIDEO TO PROVE HILLARY LIED, SEE ANDERSON COOPER. THIS LADY JUST HAVE A MISSION ACCOMPLISH MOMENT, SHE IS SO OUT OF TOUCH. IN AMERICAN WE REWARD WINNERS, HILLARY IS LOOSEING PEOPLE AND THERE IS NO WAY OUT. AND FOR SOME TO SAY OBAMA SHOULD RUN IN 2016 IS AN INSULT, MAYBE HILLARY SHOULD HAVE RUN IN 2004 BUT SHE WAS CALCULATING AND BELIEVED SHE HAD THIS IS THE BAG. HILLARY USED FEAR, RACE AND RELIGION TO TRY TO CRIPPLE OBAMA, HOWEVER IF SHE ENGINEERED A WAY TO TAKE THE NOMINATION IN AUGUST SHE BETTER REMEBER SHE IS ON HER OWN, THE BLACK VOTES THEY SO DESPERATELY NEED WILL GO WITH AN THIRD PARTY RUN WITH OBAMA. HILLARY IS THE ONE WHO HAS PUT THE PARTY ON THE BRINK OF DESTRUCTION AND MAYBE OBAMA SHOULD BE THE GENTLEMAN AND LET HER HAVE IT, THEN START HIS OWN PROGRESSIVE LINCOLN PARTY, HE WILL WIN THE PRESIDENCY BECAUSE THE HUNGER WE FEEL IS DEEPER THAT HILLARY'S GREED!

OBAMA-GORE 08 DEMOCRATS

GORE-OBAMA 08 THIRD PARTY OPTION

THERE IS NO PLACE FOR HILLARY!

joe   March 24th, 2008 10:26 pm ET

HC,

"I will sooner vote MCCain over Obama." This guy is a republican. We will vote who gets the nomination.
HC get a life

Orack Bobama   March 24th, 2008 10:27 pm ET

Come on, Jimmy boy! If you want to endorse a candidate, you gotta get yourself a new false tan (like the formerly pasty white-latin Richardson did), and grow a goatee.

These dems are really LOOKIN' GOOD!!!

Alice Fort Myers Fl USA   March 24th, 2008 10:27 pm ET

Florida and Michigan voters - send an email to that idiot Howard HEEEEAHHHHHHHH RULES ARE RULES, BAD CHILDREN!!!!!!!! Dean at dnc.com and one to Thurman also if you're from Florida

I did

I will WRITE IN Hillary if that racist Obama gets the Democratic Party nod, and I don't even care if Hillary asks me not to

I could NEVER vote for Obama/Hitler - Hitler was also a racist politician who gave a nice speech and thereby convinced all the sheep to vote for him in a democratic election

A lot of major politicians also backed him……….as did the Church at the time……..

Goodness - history DOES repeat itself……

Nancy Riley   March 24th, 2008 10:28 pm ET

Malcolm X’s autobiography seemed to offer something different,” Obama wrote.
“His repeated acts of self-creation spoke to me; the blunt poetry of his words,
his unadorned insistence on respect, promised a new and uncompromising order,
martial in its discipline, forged through sheer force of will.”

While working as a community organizer for a group of churches in Chicago, Obama
was repeatedly asked to join Christian congregations, but begged off.

Farrakhan compared Obama to the religion’s founder, Fard Muhammad, who also had
a white mother and black father.

Gene in Texas   March 24th, 2008 10:28 pm ET

Mr Murtha you sounds so ignorant and naive. How can you criticize Bush for war and still support a candidate that voted for it?..You 're such a hypocrispy and i loss every respect i have for you. You showed us the same politics in Washington DC—politicians never mean what they say….shameful…

A&A   March 24th, 2008 10:30 pm ET

venus…even his BO camp is beginning to realize that huge rallies do not help him connect with regular folks…so what is the point of the big rally comparisons…just shows your ignorance and blind fate in a no good liar

Abby, Northern California   March 24th, 2008 10:48 pm ET

Hillary Clinton is too flawed to be electable. Hillary rather destroy the Democratic party for her own personal satisfaction. It is really sad to watch her disgrace herself in such a shameful way.

Anee   March 24th, 2008 10:56 pm ET

While obama basks in the sun on vacation, enjoying his money, some change, with his old folks, kennedy, kerry, richardson, some change, yeah right.
Clinton is out there working while OB the poor little rich guy lies in the sun. What a joke.
OB should concede, his Rev. Wright did him in he is now unelectable!
