How can she claim anything other than being in proximity? The second argument is she did not directly involve in writing and negotiating the stipulations and terms of any treaty or accord, no matter it was Northern Ireland’s or Bosnia’s, etc. The third argument is the photo or video shown that she was hugging a little Bosnian girl for her precious photo op. She did not have any picture to show her under fire or posing by an Abraham Tank in the battlefield. So any indication of Bosnia was a dangerous place (“under snipped fire”) is a lie. By the same 1st token, McCain cannot take any credit for the troop surge in Iraq; he is not even in the command chain structure of US military. How can he claim any credit? A liar, too. How can Obama keep taking credit of “Opposing the war of Iraq” while he was not even in any position and proximity to do that? By the same 2nd token, the former President Jimmy Carter cannot claim any credit for the Camp David Peace Accord (Sep 17, 1978), and the final peace treaty between Israel Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat (March 26, 1979). He did not involve directly either in writing of the stipulations or negotiation of terms of the Accord and peace treaty. Jimmy Carter basically provided free accommodations and unlimited Latte using taxpayer money. He should be ashamed of claiming any credit for that. Bill Clinton also cannot claim any credit for the resolution of Croation war or the success of Northern Ireland peace treaty. He was not there nor his signature was on the treaty. If he claimed any credit, what “remaining credit” would be given to British Prime Minister Tony Blair? By the same 3rd token, Iraq and Afghanistan are no dangerous places for reporters, the President, the Senators, and the Generals. The proofs are videos of these people making lengthy speeches, analysis, unnecessary interviews and some casual jokes. No blown up suicide bombers on the video, no explosion of roadside IED on spot, not even scenes of demonstration. Everybody on the picture and video was smiling. So any reporters who claimed he/she went to Iraq in 2006- 2007 under the blaze or chaos of a Civil War is also lying because he/she stayed in the peaceful Green Zone. I remember seeing a video of president Bush wearing an Arab Traditional Costume dancing with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia in January 2008. I guess he must be on a pleasant vacation trip. In the real world of business, it is a norm for the CEO, the VPs, the executives, the general manager, the product manager, the development manager, the engineering manager, the team leader down to the engineers who actually designed and made the product, all took credit for the success of a product within their domain. It does not matter whether these managers and executives actually contribute any exotic idea to the design, production and marketing of the product or not. They may just once in a while check and push the schedule, take a nap or remain silent during the meetings, or tell a joke. The successful product will be on all of their resumes. The role Hillary played was not an ordinary first lady role like Nancy Reagent, Barbara Bush, or Laura Bush. She had an active role and was very involved in every aspect of Bill Clinton’s policies, except she was not on the government payroll. What people seem to forget is that each dedicated delegate also gets to help form the party platform. Once upon a time, that meant a lot more, but it still means a lot to some of us. We're not annointing a king or queen, we're getting the voices that reflect the sum of our party to the Convention, so each has a voice. At the end of this whole thing, it will be important for those Convention delegates, Murtha included, to unite around the Party's nominee. And, by any fair standard, that should already be Barak Obama. Rep. John Murtha is a great man. He just has the wrong candidate who needs to step down from the campaign trail.
