Blitzer: Clinton resurrects the Wright controversy

The economy once again may be the dominant campaign theme.

The economy once again may be the dominant campaign theme.

(CNN) - After staying out of the Barack Obama controversy over his former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Hillary Clinton has now weighed in big time. She was asked about the flap when she met with the editorial board of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review today. “He would not have been my pastor,” she replied. “You know, you don’t choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend.”

A few moments ago, at a news conference, she essentially said the same thing before the microphones and cameras. And as she did earlier in the day, she noted that she had spoken out last year against Don Imus for his racially-charged comments about the Rutgers University women’s basketball team. “I gave a speech at Rutgers University saying that hate speech was unacceptable in any setting, and I believe that.”

Suddenly, the Rev. Wright uproar has returned to the forefront. The other flap of the day – her embarrassing and erroneous description of her 1996 visit to Bosnia – has been pushed a bit aside. She acknowledges that she made a mistake in describing the scene of her arrival at the Tuzla airbase.

All of this must be seen within the context of this incredibly close race for the Democratic presidential nomination. With four weeks to go to the Pennsylvania primary and the 10 other contests that will follow, every utterance by the two candidates is critical. The scrutiny all around will be intense because the stakes are enormous.

Cool. Just in time to soften inquires into her lies to our country about her being ready on day one. This should be good enough for her followers. The rest of the country is just further digusted by her complete lack of credibility, let alone experience of any meaning whatsoever. Bu-bye Hillary. Hillary 2016 ! Get some experience.

She clearly is losing her grip – on the campaign, on the public, on her staff.

Desperation is not a pretty sight. Poor sad, sad woman.

This would be laughable if it weren't so pathetic.

Mr. Blitzer, why do you cover this story for, it's not news. Yesterday, your pompoms came out for Hillary, when you reported Puerto Rico was going to the primary and the caucus system.

Ask Hillary, where are her tax returns.

But to be fair, it's the media as much as anybody that's resurrecting the Wright controversy. At least Mr. Cooper had the good sense to move on Clinton's Bosnia yarn, a story that could have been reported on last week.

Hillary Clinton thinks she is so smooth. Please, don't think for a second that the reporter – whoever they were – that asked her about Reverend Wright comment isn't (A) a Clinton supporter looking to re-hash the issue or (B) a journalist who the Clinton's asked to bring up the issue.

The media is suppose to be impartial but of course there are certain ones who have chosen their sides. Clinton will literally stop at nothing to try undermine the process to somehow win the nomination.

I don't really care if you even blow Obama outta the water in Pennsylvania. YOU WILL NOT WIN THE POPULAR VOTE. So if she's doing what she feels so she'll win. Because Hillary is banking on any Democrat taking her side over the Republicans.

Newsflash – Most Democrats will not support you. So DROP OUT.

Gee imagine that... Another moron who has to bring up this stupid controversy that should have absolutely nothing to do with the race its self. She wants to criticize Wright well after all the claims that her husband was the "first black president" and they both are such pillars of the black community she should have no Right to say anything about it! If you have never attented the mans church for longer then the 2 minutes of youtube clips you should shut your mouth. THE MAN RETIRED HES NOT THE ONE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET OVER IT!!!

Hillary's win at all cost campaign for the presidency reveals a sad caricature of a desperate woman. Hillary clearly lacks integrity.

The Dems could make it clear to her that if she doesn’t win this for herself, but instead just sets Obama up to lose, then she will not be the nominee.

Unless she can set up a good case for herself going forward, it should be Obama, or, if something happens that causes him to implode or trip down the stairs, it should be Gore or some other third party.

We just can’t have her trying to tear him down all the way ’till June, thinking she’ll win this thing.

I am sick of people getting mad because Obama stated his Grandmother's fears. My Great Grandmother was worse than Obama's, she wouldn't even acknowledge our existance. She hated black people until the day she died. She would talk to her son and not his wife or his children. I bet there's a lot more of this than people talk about, people need to be honest and move on. I like Obama can speak from both sides and it is pretty ugly.

Where are your tax returns, Hillary? What are you hiding?
Or did you mis-speak when you said you were putting them together?

How many times will you mis-speak before you just come out and admit that you lied?

Clinton represents what American's are trying to change: two-faced lying politicians that have only their best interests at heart. Hillary, stop ruining the Democratic party. You lost. Pack up your lies and your boyfriend Mark Penn and go back to New York.

Wolf, did Hillary leave Bill after it was proven that he had sex with several women. Some which she had to have known about. When was the last time something so dramatic as being shot at that you did not remember it. When will the news come out and said Hillary you lied; not once but several times. You don't keep miss speaking unleast you want to try to turn a lie into the truth. You know if you hear something over and over again it begins to be known as the truth.

Hillary I think you were with your husband to fulfill your political ambitions. Now it seems like you will not get the nomination, so will you leave Bill after the convention?

Obama supporters are more concerned with Hillary misspeaking about a trip to Bosnia then thier own hero lying about NAFTA and getting mentored by a preacher who blames 9/11 on the victims. Give me a break. As a 9/11 survivor, someone who ran from the Towers when they fell, I think Obama's relationship with his pastor is appalling. 20 year relationship with the patrioric Reverend Wright. 20 year relationship with the indicted Tony Rezko. Have to give Obama credit. He is very good at pulling the wool over his supporters eyes. But then again what do I know. I'm just a "typical white person."

I am very trouble to see the Dem party chairman coming out to endorsed Hillary Cliton. I think the Chairman should be neutral so we have the Gov mayors and the party chairman, which is a slap in our facr for those that support Obama.

I'm glad more voters are starting to look at her game plan, remember everything they do is calculated for their advantage. How else was she going to kill that lie, other than to think of what will make headlines and say it. One thing for sure, after dealing with the Clintons, John McCain will be no match for President Obama!!!

On a day when she is caught in a lie about her Bosnia experience – she had to do something to deflect the "bad attention". Rev. Wright is a easy target for her and her campaign.

She needs to step aside. The opinion of her as well as President Clinton are declining rapidly.
