Listen to Bill Scheider’s analysis and Clinton's misspoken comments.

(CNN) — Sen. Hillary Clinton said she "misspoke" last week when she gave a dramatic description of her arrival in Bosnia 12 years ago, recounting a landing under sniper fire.

Clinton was responding to a question Monday from the Philadelphia Daily News' editorial board about video footage of the event that contradicted her assertion that her group "ran with our heads down" from the plane to avoid sniper fire at the Tuzla Air Base, Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Tommy Vietor, a spokesman for rival Sen. Barack Obama's campaign, said the Bosnia claim was part of "a growing list of instances in which Sen. Clinton has exaggerated her role in foreign and domestic policymaking."

Clinton told the paper's editorial board it was a "minor blip."

CR   March 25th, 2008 10:04 am ET

I guess that depends on what the word "misspoke" means…..

truth be told   March 25th, 2008 10:04 am ET

i'm so interested to see how her rabid surrogates spin this one out!

LLMC   March 25th, 2008 10:04 am ET

how do you misspeak about being shot at…I dont know but I had been shot at I would remember it…just as if I have never been shot at I would remember it…she is some candidate…

Kevin - Jonesboro, GA   March 25th, 2008 10:04 am ET

All lies eventually come to surface…she should have learned this by now just watching her husband!!!

B in NC   March 25th, 2008 10:03 am ET

We know Senator Clinton will do anything or say anything to be more electable. That is the way of a politician. What else is new?

Coder   March 25th, 2008 10:03 am ET

If by "misspoke" she means "blatently lied", then yes, I can see that.

What???   March 25th, 2008 10:02 am ET

"minor blip" ??? Hillary lied about this as she has lied about other things. Do we really want a president that going to exaggerate/ lie to the American people……..

Herman   March 25th, 2008 10:02 am ET

Ms. Clinton is devil straight from hell, she as continue to do nothing but lie. Just like Bill lied about Monica he has taught Hillary how to lie, cheat, and deceive the public. We really don’t need these people back in the White House and Hillary need to drop out of the race with what little dignity she still has.

What a shame, shame, shame…. and she trying to bring down a good man Barack Obama with her.

This was a clear deliberation to mislead the public on her foreign policy.

Obama 08!!!

Roz, IL   March 25th, 2008 10:02 am ET

sure she mis-spoke, sounds like RESUME PADDING to me.

Steve, ATL   March 25th, 2008 10:01 am ET

The sun rises in the east and the Clinton's tell lies. Is anyone really surprised. For crying out loud, she claimed that she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary. Problem is that she was born before the mountaineer made the history books. Standard operating procedure for a Clinton.

Charles Douglas Lemay   March 25th, 2008 10:01 am ET

"FALSUS IN UNO, FALSUS IN OMNIBUS"

Look it up…

Smokey   March 25th, 2008 10:01 am ET

As a proud serving member of the USMC, I am absolutely repulsed by this allegation which is nothing short of a blatant lie.

If she were a Commissioned Officer in the US Armed Forces, she would be asked to resign after an allegation like that. In the US military we have a techincal term for this behavior……..Phoney!

She will be campaigning in North Carolina soon, a state with a high population of US military. This ought to go over really well there. This is not the nail in the coffin, just one of the many.

Vote your conscience.

are you kidding me   March 25th, 2008 10:01 am ET

Are you kidding me? "Misspoke" she lied!! I watched her address the public and speak about the danager she encountered on this trip. Running to cars, ducking sniper fire. She even Dismissed Sinbad's recollection because he is "just a comedian". She is a liar!! Same old Politics, not even a woman can change that. How disappointing.

Robert B   March 25th, 2008 10:00 am ET

Minor blip? And the Clinton supporters wonder why the Obama supporters keep saying she will DO AND SAY ANYTHING to get into the white house.

give….me…a….break!

Martin Howell   March 25th, 2008 10:00 am ET

Make sure not to misspeak when you answer that 3 a.m. phone call.

Clinton is a fraud   March 25th, 2008 10:00 am ET

Seems to me that the Clintons (Billwinsky and HRC) are pathological liars.
You have just lost my vote forever. I hardly see anyone these days rooting for you anyway.

Mark in Missouri   March 25th, 2008 10:00 am ET

Ah, more glorious Washington doublespeak.

If Senator Obama had "mis-spoken", I'm sure some sharped-tongue vitriol would have immediately spewn forth from Mrs. Clinton's mouth.

Mark my words, if she becomes the nominee, McCain '08 baby!

LISA   March 25th, 2008 9:59 am ET

Ok Hillary… I have heard you state this a number of times.. what is going on in that dillusional mind of yours. Ypu will say anything to get people to vote for you.. Greedy little thief. Please just go away. I used to want to vote for you.. but I cannot vote for someone I DO NOT TRUST.

todd   March 25th, 2008 9:59 am ET

She just "misremembered." What a joke.

Christine   March 25th, 2008 9:59 am ET

"Minor blip"?

There's a BIG different between walking calmly off a plane after being told there MIGHT be sniper fire and running and ducking for cover with your head down to avoid sniper fire.

Doesn't surprise me at all…..

Jessica, MI   March 25th, 2008 9:59 am ET

Hillary "misspoke" just as much as Bill "did not have sexual relations with that woman"

Liars.

Joe   March 25th, 2008 9:58 am ET

Misspoke????!!!! Oh that's right…she's a democrat…they do that OFTEN! We should be used to that!

Give us a break   March 25th, 2008 9:58 am ET

So what else is going to say to get elected. I trust her about as far as I can pick up a car and throw it. As a retired military member, I would follow her into battle only out of morbid curiosity.

Carine   March 25th, 2008 9:58 am ET

Misspeakiing indeed! Then HIllary always mispeaks! b/c everything she says is so wrong! I've had it with this lady, if its not Obama, then I'll just sit at home and not vote as I don't like McCain either.

Ladyleo Atlanta   March 25th, 2008 9:58 am ET

MNDem   March 25th, 2008 9:58 am ET

People, is it not obvious?

HILLARY WILL SAY OR DO ANYTHING TO GET VOTES!

You are crazy if you think the Clinton's actually care about you! It is a power grab and we are all just pawns in their game.

Obama/Richardson '08

Herbert   March 25th, 2008 9:58 am ET

So let's see. She lied about Bosnia, she lied about Nafta, she lied about being fully vetted.

How can she be fully vetted when she hasn't filed tax returns for 8 years; hasn't released her earmarks, hasn't released the list of donors to the Presidential Library and hasn't released the list of donors to the Clinton charity?

"A minor blip"; well lets see the rest of information released and let the American voters determine whether this is a minor blip or not.

Clinton Supporter   March 25th, 2008 9:57 am ET

Minor blip, misspoke, call it what you want! It was a plain boldface lie, and the media should tell it like it is. A LIE!

And because of this, I am changing my vote. If we cannot trust her with something as simple as that, why would anyone want her to preside over our great country?

Lawrence O.   March 25th, 2008 9:56 am ET

Minor blip?Honestly, this is very typical of the CLINTINS.

Joanne   March 25th, 2008 9:56 am ET

"misspoke"

Hahahahahaha!
Yeah, right. Nice try!

HotBeans   March 25th, 2008 9:56 am ET

What's really troubling about this video is Hillary's haircut. Oye.

Edubs   March 25th, 2008 9:55 am ET

Hillary lies about Bosnia, Barack lies about Rezko and Wright, Bill lies under oath…. politics as usual for the Democrats. But the Hil-bots and Obahhhma-freaks will follow blindly along. Libs are sheeple.

Shem   March 25th, 2008 9:55 am ET

She is UNTRUSTWORTHY. The polls were correct to depict her as so, and now she should shut up and endorse Barack Obama instead of dividing the party with her LIES.

LB   March 25th, 2008 9:54 am ET

its just like her to lie to make herself look good and it doesnt matter how many trips she went on, that is something you would never for get not to mention her only childs life was endanger. in my opinion she new what she was saying was a lie not a misspoke or minor blip

Think - FL   March 25th, 2008 9:54 am ET

Whatever. If you watched the speeches where she talked about it she tried to paint this very detailed, dramatic, romanticized event where she risked her life to help those poor people. What a total crock. I can't believe people fall all over themselves for someone so obviously disingenuous. This is a small example of a much larger character flaw.

Ivar   March 25th, 2008 9:54 am ET

By the way according to reports Chelsea was 16 at the time and hence a minor. She should be investigated by the justice department for child endagerment. NEED I SAY MORE.

TF   March 25th, 2008 9:54 am ET

HRC supporters do you really believe her now. This is two times she has lied to us. This country needs an honest and truthful leader not anouther Clinton.

Lisa in TN   March 25th, 2008 9:54 am ET

"We arrived in the afternoon…" when really it was morning, I think would be an example of 'mis-speaking.'

"Under sniper fire, we ran for cover…" when really you participated in a friendly meet and greet (with small children even!) is a calculated lie.

It would be an alarming example of dishonesty if it wasn't so sad.

pbj   March 25th, 2008 9:54 am ET

"Misspoke" as in "said something that was not true"? Don't we call that a "lie"? Gee, what a surprise, coming from someone married to the guy who "misspoke" about having had sex with that woman.

Way to kill two birds with one stone, Hillary: refuted your claim to foreign policy experience AND confirmed your propensity to do anything, including lying, to win.

Mo   March 25th, 2008 9:53 am ET

Nonesense, how could someone forget if they came under fire or not?!!
Sort of like saying: The doctors removed a golf ball size tumer from my head. Sorry, I misspoke, they were thinking about it.

Heather   March 25th, 2008 9:53 am ET

Yup - nailed for the liar she really is!

Debbie   March 25th, 2008 9:53 am ET

I'm sure they'll find she "misspoke" on all of her "experience" issues.

kris   March 25th, 2008 9:53 am ET

HILLARY CLINTON IS A PROFESSIONAL LIAR!!!!!!!…THIS IS NOT NEWS

Jim in FL   March 25th, 2008 9:52 am ET

We used to call it "LYING".

C Watson   March 25th, 2008 9:52 am ET

Hillary also “misspoke” about her vote for the Iraq war, about her support for NAFTA, about Macedonia, about Ireland, about CHIP, about claims that guardsmen and reservists didn't have health insurance before she went to work, etc, etc.

One can only hope her supporters “misvote” to reward her.

Kevin, Louisville, Ky   March 25th, 2008 9:52 am ET

Well …well ..well…spinning the story? I Still believe she has 35 yrs of experience in …………lying ;)

Nikki from reality   March 25th, 2008 9:51 am ET

We call this a bold faced lie where I come from.

Jennifer   March 25th, 2008 9:50 am ET

One other comment….

If this was OBAMA that mispoke, the media would be tearing him to shreads. It's about time that the media calls Hillary on her lies.

Good job CNN.

Martin, Santa Monica   March 25th, 2008 9:50 am ET

she will do and say anything to get elected …

Barb   March 25th, 2008 9:50 am ET

Can't trust anything she says!!! We surely don't want to trust her with a RED PHONE moment, she may mispeak!!!

Spirit of America   March 25th, 2008 9:50 am ET

She is obviously way ahead of her time. The sniper fire she had in mind then is the stuff coming at her hard and heavy from the Obama camp now. About time we had a visionary for president.

fred   March 25th, 2008 9:50 am ET

Go Hillary!!!

Obama has misspoken how many time???

John, Fairfax, VA   March 25th, 2008 9:50 am ET

It is unbelieveable that Obama on vacation got 200 mostly stupid comments, and as it appears right now, this gets little attention. People go on vacation to make time for what matters in lie people: family. Obama isn't dodging anything by being on vacation. Just like Hillary isn't dodging any bullets in the footage. LOL!

Joe   March 25th, 2008 9:49 am ET

Clinton misspoked about something that took place years ago but Obama LIED about not being in the church during those hateful anti-American sermons and there's no talk about it. Unbelievable!

Claire, Austin, TX   March 25th, 2008 9:49 am ET

This is the real question though. Is her campaign this dumb or do they think we are? Both are scary..

Helene   March 25th, 2008 9:48 am ET

What else is new ? Next thing we'll know is that she is also fighting in Iraq on her spare time ? Enough lies and deception, Clinton !

Ravi   March 25th, 2008 9:48 am ET

Or just plain lied. . . at least twice in an attempt to boost her non-existant foreign policy experience.

Andy   March 25th, 2008 9:48 am ET

Misspoke? Is that the same as lie?

YLR   March 25th, 2008 9:48 am ET

Everything that is questionable or negative, she considers "minor". Let another candidate say a lie like that and she will run it into the ground and ride it 'til the wheels fall off…

She makes me sick.

Shelagh   March 25th, 2008 9:48 am ET

A 'Minor blip" or an outright lie???
If Hilary doesn't know the difference between these two things, that's scary! And if she does, that's even scarier!

Vocie of Reason   March 25th, 2008 9:47 am ET

" Misspoke" call it what it is….A Lie….She is not trust worth….She will do and say anything to win! I don't trust anything she says!

Odi   March 25th, 2008 9:47 am ET

By "misspoke" do you mean she lied about her foreign policy experience? I guess that Iraq vote was a minor blunder to.

Jyh1920   March 25th, 2008 9:46 am ET

MISSPOKE?!? ARE YOU SERIOUS?
"I remember snipers shooting at us and having to run from the plane" YOU MEAN YOU LIED!
She has a credibility problem. She will do and say anything to win.

Eddie   March 25th, 2008 9:46 am ET

To knowingly misspeak = to deceive or lie

I love the way standard politics can manipulate words to save their hides.

Christopher, Phoenix, AZ   March 25th, 2008 9:46 am ET

We would generally call that, 'lying,' but when you say a million words a day (since talk is the only cheap thing left) I guess you have to start making things up to meet your quotas.

karen from VA   March 25th, 2008 9:45 am ET

I find it pathetic that she has the hubris to lie so easily, that her attempt to discredit Sinbad's honesty came so easily and naturally to her, and that she thinks we are all stupid. Her arrogance is simply laughable.

lie   March 25th, 2008 9:44 am ET

Correction she is not trusted by 53% of the american people now it will rise to 100% very soon

Dawn   March 25th, 2008 9:44 am ET

Misspoke? How about just outright lying. Give it up lady, your "experience" platform has buckled and you've fallen flat on your face.

Obama '08

Tom Swift, Shopton   March 25th, 2008 9:44 am ET

`
Hillary says … QUOTE: "I say a lot of things — millions of words a day — so if I misspoke, that was just a misstatement,"

OOPS ! She misspoke again!

Millions of words per day ???? People say about 3 words per second when they talk. If she spoke non-stop for 1 day (24 hours) she would only use 259,200 words. That's non-stop, 24 hours. Studys show that a woman speaks around 20,000 words per day. Can this woman ever stop stretching the truth ?????

`

Justin from West Haven, CT   March 25th, 2008 9:44 am ET

Yeah real minor, like the fact you haven't ran a positive campaign or proven you have any experience.

Helene   March 25th, 2008 9:44 am ET

What else is new ? Next thing we'll know is that she is also fighting in Iraq on her spare time ? Give us a break Clinton, drop out of this campaign !

Amy   March 25th, 2008 9:44 am ET

Hillary Clinton knew exactly what she was saying (SO MUCH FOR EXPERIENCE); and, as far as, McCain's error, he didn't have a clue what he was talking about.

Superdelegate   March 25th, 2008 9:43 am ET

depends on the meaning of "sniper fire" is. If by sniper you mean 8 year old girl with poem… then yes.

LGriff   March 25th, 2008 9:43 am ET

Well, well, well, now we know. Hillary has been lying through her whole campaigning to get where she's at. Now, can America really trust this woman as our president. I don't think so. Doesn't the Clintons know that honesty is the best policy, good or bad.

I agree, Hillary owes the United States an apology as well as the people of Ohio. They were mislead badly based on the NAFTA scandal.

Obama 08, 2012!!!!!!!

Misspoke are you kidding stupid CNN she can spin you to what ever way she wants. You think people are stupid enough to fall fall this. She is a lier and everyone knows it. Her trust worthness in the american people will rise for the current 53% to 100% very soon.

Saad   March 25th, 2008 9:42 am ET

It was wrong what she did.. i.e. lied… but at least she admitted she misspoke… unlike the current administration… her lying did not kill 4000 Americans and put us in a whole for billions of dollars… yes it was wrong… and everyone does wrong things… but by comparison of the above, which is worse?

jeff   March 25th, 2008 9:41 am ET

Between this incident and the Good Friday Peace Accord in which Nobel Laurette Lord Trimble described her touted role in it as, "a wee bit silly", I think Hillary Clinton needs to resubmit her Commander-in-Chief test for a regrade - and not to Professor Mark Penn.

gman   March 25th, 2008 9:41 am ET

So how many more lies has she told? The sad part is she didn't realize how silly it sounded the President would send his wife and daughter into a dangerous situation. But lets not forget the lie about she didn't support NAFTA, who really contacted the Canadians, and numerous other lies. But we get the government we elect.

nick   March 25th, 2008 9:41 am ET

Tell me. What do one expect form a Clinton? Does anyone remember "I did not have sexual relations with that woman". this is what they do. They lie. If you vote a Clinton in that is what you will get and that is a liar.

Doug R.   March 25th, 2008 9:41 am ET

This happened 12 years ago and CNN is still fixated on it.
FYI …politicans misspeak and exaggerate everyday. I can cite you example after example if you like.

Shame on you America   March 25th, 2008 9:41 am ET

And is it just me, or does the little girl in the video look like Bill Clinton??? Things that make go, "hmmmmmmmmmmmm…"

David, Atlanta   March 25th, 2008 9:41 am ET

All politicians misspeak. What is the difference between misspeaking and lying? This was a calculated fabrication for political gain. Integrity at some point becomes essential to getting my vote. Clinton does not have any integrity.

Adam   March 25th, 2008 9:40 am ET

Its nice she can admitt when she was wrong. Obama dosen't know how to do that? He is still making his Pastor out to be a Saint!!

Typical White Person   March 25th, 2008 9:40 am ET

At least she didn't attend a racial, anti American church for 20 year's.
The whole congregation should have been deported, end of story.
She did it and admitted she misspoke, get over it.

Brandon Chicago   March 25th, 2008 9:40 am ET

Come on Hillary don't blow it. Your record is already way beyond Obama 's . Everyone has seen that already., don't start the same tactics that the Obama campaign does oh so often. Stick too telling the truth on your record. People sees Obama and who he really is. No saint-hood here. We have finally seen alot of lies come from camp.

greenfun   March 25th, 2008 9:39 am ET

lisa north carolina   March 25th, 2008 9:39 am ET

i find this crazy funny - she is a huge story teller! and i am tickled by it… how can u mispeak?

BBB   March 25th, 2008 9:39 am ET

The first thought that went through my mind is lack of judgement. IF there were truly sniper fire… then why would she have put her (then) 16 yr old daughter in the line of fire. It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it makes me wonder about common sense. BUT since it turns out the retelling was seriously flawed it just makes me wonder about other things…. again.

Dan (TX)   March 25th, 2008 9:38 am ET

Amazing what happens when the American public has access to the FACTS and can call out a candidate for MISSPEAKING.

Her exageration of the facts is an insult to all of the US/UN troops that actually put their lives in the line of fire for peace. How sickening.

I hope Hillary and Chelsea enjoyed their tourist-style visit and elegant state dinners while in country.

Hillary was probably thinking of some of the bad neighborhoods around Washington DC instead. :)

matt   March 25th, 2008 9:38 am ET

Busted…She's a legend in her own mind. She's repeated the 35 years experience line so many time she actually has started to believe her own lies.

misspoke?????????????.lets see how american realy feels about lying???????

Will-South Dakota   March 25th, 2008 9:38 am ET

Katy   March 25th, 2008 9:38 am ET

Yep. It looks like she misspoke. Her campaign cleared up what she experienced by referring to her book. Easy mistake to make. For those Obamaniacs who might make an issue, consider that Clinton's foreign policy experience, no matter how you measure it, is FAR GREATER than Obama's. That is undeniable and is the central point for Democrats. End of story!

Corey, Bloomington IN   March 25th, 2008 9:38 am ET

When will she learn that words matter?

Mike A.   March 25th, 2008 9:38 am ET

She did not "Misspeak", She "LIED"!!!!

Where's the change?   March 25th, 2008 9:38 am ET

Wow, Obama… way to keep with your promises. Looking for dirt to bring Clinton down, that's the way I figured you'd do this!

Talk is cheap. Politics as usual.

Adam   March 25th, 2008 9:37 am ET

Lets see, How many times has Obama flat out LIED to us?

1- About saying his camp had not said anything to Canada regarding NAFTA!

2- About him not being at Church or hearing any of the comments that his pastor had said

and those are just ones from the last month.

Not to mention the "Typical White Person" comment.

I can hear the Obama Cult coming now….Anything to take the heat of Nobama!

Bruryah   March 25th, 2008 9:36 am ET

She said it didn't she, she knows that one should think before speaking.

Dr. Truth, Boston   March 25th, 2008 9:36 am ET

this is obviously just one example of many lies she tells. clintons are liars no matter who they are. they will do anything in the world to get and keep power. depends what the defintion of "is" is…depends on what the dfinition of "sniper fire" is

Bernetta   March 25th, 2008 9:36 am ET

Liar, Liar, pants on fire. Was this part of her 35 years experiences that she continues to claim she has?

Deb, Iowa   March 25th, 2008 9:36 am ET

"Misspoke", hah, she was hoping she wouldn't get caught with that story.

Rose - Baltimore, MD   March 25th, 2008 9:35 am ET

Sen Clinton, this is not minor or misspoke words. You are a liar. Good thing your supporters are ignorant and cannot quickly catch such things. Obama asked for your foreign polciy claims to be examined. You named 5 and this was one of them. You have proved time and again, and also remined us that you are a liar and will continue to be one.

Orlando   March 25th, 2008 9:35 am ET

This lady is full of it.. Hillary Clinton whole ife and experience has been very exaggerated. Is that really what americans want is someone to lie to the and tell them what thet want to hear.

Peggy S   March 25th, 2008 9:34 am ET

"Misspeaking" is when you accidentally switch out a word that alters what you meant.

"Lying" is when you tell people something that's blatantly not true.

She is basically lying about "misspeaking"

Patty NH   March 25th, 2008 9:34 am ET

Well, well. Another Clinton contrived lie. I watched her as she told this story of her "bravery". She lies so much she believes herself. Now more lies. You don't forget situations like that. More of the same old same old with the Clintons. Seems to be in their blood.

Chelsea   March 25th, 2008 9:34 am ET

Her little white lies are getting bigger and bigger, when do you think her nose will start growing? If she will lie to us about this, what will she lie to us about if she became President?

Ed   March 25th, 2008 9:34 am ET

What other things has Hillary sugarcoated?

Makes me think there's a lot more exaggeration from the Hillary campaign than we originally thought…

i was once a huge Hillary supporter, but after lie after lie…

i have decided to vote for Obama.

Pennsylvanians for Obama!

Paulinus   March 25th, 2008 9:34 am ET

Would she have gone to Bosnia with the knowledge of possible sniper attack? No. She should not be excused for this blatant lie. Such life threatening instances should be vividly remembered. Her intension was to deceive the people of Pennsylvania like she did to the people of Ohio. How can she be trusted in the White House?

ross   March 25th, 2008 9:33 am ET

BobW Rochester, NY   March 25th, 2008 9:33 am ET

Hillary has "misspoken" about much of her record. She "misspoke" about Northern Ireland, opening borders in Kosavo, SCHIP and other legislation. She has demonstrated she is ready on day 1…to "misspeak". In face of contradicting eveidence and her detailed account, it looks more like she just plain lied!

Monika   March 25th, 2008 9:32 am ET

When she is using it as an argument for becoming president, its a big misspoke. She tryed to pictured herself as brave and it came out very wrong. hahaha. Go Barack!

Jasmyne   March 25th, 2008 9:32 am ET

I don't know about you but I think I would remember being shot at…. So i definately don't buy her "I misspoke" argument. I buy it just as much as I bought "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." Pergury all over again. The Clinton are definately a scandelous bunch. SMH

lugina   March 25th, 2008 9:32 am ET

I am from Bosnia…Clintons did great job in Bosnia–Kosovo, save millions of lives…period…

THANKS U.S.A.
THANX CLINTONS for HELP in CROATIA-BOSNIA-KOSOVO…WAR.

Tom Swift, Shopton   March 25th, 2008 9:32 am ET

Misspoke? If it were someone else, people would say she lied.

I can see misspeaking about what she had for breakfast that day, but there is a world of difference between her saying she had to low crawl thru sniper fire and what really happened.

I guess it all depends on your definition of "spoke".

Pegg   March 25th, 2008 9:32 am ET

She has used this description IN ONE OF HER SPEECHES!!

HOW is that misspeaking?!!?

TN Voter   March 25th, 2008 9:31 am ET

"millions of words a day"? That's 23 words a second! OK, so she mispoke again — or either spends all her time in words and not action. GO OBAMA!

Rick in Florida   March 25th, 2008 9:31 am ET

Now the definition of lying and exaggerating is to "mis-speak"??
AMAZING. When will we finally be rid of these people??

Renee Day   March 25th, 2008 9:31 am ET

Misspoke is just another wordfor LIE. What else is she lying about. And you want this liar to run the country, built on just more lies. Did I say lie enough for you or should I have used the word misspoke.

dmw   March 25th, 2008 9:30 am ET

At least Hillary has a record to look at; Obama does not have any record of anything. His only mantra is 'change', 'yes we can', and my pastor is a racist whose church I attend for 20 years—oh yeah, he was a community organizer and voted 'present' in the State Senate.

I'll take Hillary any day over Obama.

E. D.   March 25th, 2008 9:30 am ET

Mispoke, another word for "lied". Or perhaps she was just hallucinating, and this is the person some people want to answer the red phone. Really, it's time everyone woke up.

Kathy   March 25th, 2008 9:29 am ET

Oh, I'm sorry. Did I say that I have experience in foreign policy? I misspoke. Oops! No biggie.

E. D.   March 25th, 2008 9:29 am ET

Lie.

Ernestine   March 25th, 2008 9:29 am ET

As I have said in other blogs, Hillary can lie with a straight face.

jaded   March 25th, 2008 9:29 am ET

Only in politics can a lie be called "misspoke"

maxwellinformed   March 25th, 2008 9:29 am ET

Between this boldface lie and McCain's "senior moments" I don't know how you can argue who the best president would be.

Mike from Pennsylvania   March 25th, 2008 9:29 am ET

She lie to ohio about comander and chief and it worked.

They say Pennsylvania is like ohio, so making this lie should also work.

Its easy to trick voters so easy.

I see why Bill Richardson endorse borack.

Voters open your eyes.

I'm going back to vote for Obama.

The Clinton's not tricking me.

rdbtwthlins   March 25th, 2008 9:29 am ET

Believe me, you will never forget sniper fire. In fact, the little voice in your head will be telling you to watch the horizon for years, decades after its experience. Sorry Hillary, 'misspoke' is a bad choice of words too..

suzyq-philadelphia   March 25th, 2008 9:28 am ET

Here she goes again , as a kid we called it diarrehia of the mouth……..
..enough said

Patty   March 25th, 2008 9:28 am ET

You misspoke? Or did you LIE, Mrs. Clinton??

OBAMATRUTH.ORG   March 25th, 2008 9:28 am ET

Who cares its the ECONOMY STUPID..

Why most of us are going to work..Some PRESIDENTIAL are off on vacation…

Only Hillary can deliver

Terry   March 25th, 2008 9:28 am ET

We all know she stretched the truth about what happened during the trip. You know, this would be an excellent time to release the last 8 years of the clinton tax returns.

Eva   March 25th, 2008 9:27 am ET

Liar liar sniper fire!

Antoine   March 25th, 2008 9:27 am ET

Clinton says she "mispoke" about her experience. Umm, how do you forget about being shot at. Trust me, I've been shot at and I can't forget that experience. She flat out lied and is now trying to cover it up. Just for once will somebody tell the truth.

Sue   March 25th, 2008 9:27 am ET

HOW do you mispeak an entire description of a scene?!?!

HOW do you mispeak 3 or 4 entire SENTENCES?!!?

LYING thats how!!

Devon   March 25th, 2008 9:27 am ET

So that is what Hillary is calling lying these days.. "a minor blip".

J Moses   March 25th, 2008 9:27 am ET

Hillary seems to constantly be "Mis-speaking" regarding her experience and it doesn't do a thing to boost people's confidence in her. Barack gets a lot of flack for not having this type of experience, but at least he's not lying about it. It's time for a new face in the White House. Someone without decades of political favors to repay. It's OBAMA TIME !

Sarrah   March 25th, 2008 9:27 am ET

I hope the rest of her experience is not similar to this
Bill/ Hillary you both liars

Lissa   March 25th, 2008 9:26 am ET

I guess lies really aren't anything more than 'minor blips' to these people…

BCNU purple state, usa   March 25th, 2008 9:26 am ET

A minor blip? That's amusing. I love how the campaign said she "misspoke". I saw the video of her comments made on St. Patrick's Day where she actually prefaced the comment with "I remember well the …"

I would certainly remember if I were under fire in a combat zone, and probably quite WELL too.

She gets caught in a lie and has the audacity to say, oops, well, I simply misspoke. If my kids "misspoke" in this manner, they'd probably be grounded for quite sometime.

Will we ever hold potential presidents to an equal or higher standard than most of us expect out of our own children?

Would you take a car back to the dealer if he simply "misspoke" about it getting 80 mpg when it only gets 14? The base price is 6,000 dollars, but with the added options is 452,000?

Sham   March 25th, 2008 9:26 am ET

She has been misspeaking for her entire life!

Brad, Obamaha NE   March 25th, 2008 9:25 am ET

of course she did… this is getting hard to watch.

maxwellinformed   March 25th, 2008 9:25 am ET

Wondering why Obama on vacation is the top news on Political ticker, what is this TMZ?. Man, HillBill really stuck it to the press, and they forget how to do their job. Here she is running for president and caught in a boldface lie. Where is the media coverage. She described with such detail sniper fire and danger about her trip to Bosnia. "Running with her head down", and it was more like a trip to Ft. Detrick in MD. America you really do get the president you deserve.

Shawn   March 25th, 2008 9:24 am ET

Nice fish story Hillary!!!

Jessie   March 25th, 2008 9:23 am ET

Liar Liar Pants on fire.
Come On Hillary, we all dont have fools written on our foreheads.
You lied you were caught, just admit it, apologise and move on.
We all still vividly remember a certain man called Bill lying about a certain affiar he once had.

vanchava   March 25th, 2008 9:22 am ET

As a long time Bill Clinton supporter, I sympathize with him.

Hillary Clinton will NEVER get my vote. She lied about NAFTA, she won't admit her mistake of voting for the Iraqi war, she's lied about her role in North Ireland and NOW Bosnia.

When will we ever get the truth about Hillary.

SHE'S TRULY A DISGRACE

I'll be waiting for April 15

TheLeftNut   March 25th, 2008 9:21 am ET

WOW! Everybody's mispeakin'.

I'm sick of these primaries and the STUPID "Clinton never Obama" and "Obama never Hillary" crowd. There never was a dumber bunch of Democrats…just as bad as Limbaugh Lemmings.

Oops! I think I mispoke.

Jb   March 25th, 2008 9:21 am ET

lying rules!

Brandon   March 25th, 2008 9:20 am ET

Yeah, she misspoke… It was an accident, not a lie. She accidently repeatedly told a story that was accidently not true, and accidently intended to boost her experience claim. I am sure there are many people who accidently believed her and now wonder how much of her experience was just an accidental falsehood.

AKA for Obama!   March 25th, 2008 9:20 am ET

The media "spin" on this story will be no big deal. I wonder what the conversation would be if Barack Obama, a candidate touting his vast experience in foreign relations, had made this type of mistake? I think it would be a much bigger story!

vjh   March 25th, 2008 9:20 am ET

There's a huge difference between misspeaking and telling an outright lie……

actxent   March 25th, 2008 9:20 am ET

Now who is the liar?

west palm beach, Hawk   March 25th, 2008 9:20 am ET

I guess she's speaking to her uneducated voters. How could anyone believe anything that comes out of this lady mouth. She maybe worst than Bush after all.

Bukky, Baltimore   March 25th, 2008 9:20 am ET

why do my posts just disappear.

This was a lie plain and simple. This qaulifies as a textbook defination of a lie. She did not "mis-speak" she lied.

Antoinette   March 25th, 2008 9:19 am ET

Misspoke, yeah right

She exxagerated. Sniper fire but you are getting off the plane and dont have your head down ducking for cover

You're greeting a little girl

Lol

Rob   March 25th, 2008 9:19 am ET

Hillary Clinton supporter or not…. that's just funny.

Brattleboro, VT   March 25th, 2008 9:19 am ET

Misspoke!??
Bizare!

The truth is coming out; just wait and see!

Mark Webb   March 25th, 2008 9:19 am ET

Her whole life is a lie!!! Or a misspeech if you prefer.

RobinLC   March 25th, 2008 9:19 am ET

Who cares. Obama is attempting to draw off fire from his own trouble with a racist anti-american ranting preacher and his wife that from her own words seems to agree. His campaign is worried and they should be.

Lucy   March 25th, 2008 9:18 am ET

LOL……Hillarious! Literally

That's one bad lie.

David   March 25th, 2008 9:18 am ET

I saw the 2 videos. I wonder how can any body trust this lady again. Big liar…
Now I understand how she continue to live with Bill after his Monica scandal and lying about it…

John Kay   March 25th, 2008 9:18 am ET

Misspoke????? Do I hear her appologise too? Sorry seems to be the hardest word for her. Hahahahahah.

Cate   March 25th, 2008 9:18 am ET

Jessica Simpson has been to Iraq several times to perform for the troops. I've even seen pictures of her in combat gear getting out of helicopters. So that counts as "foreign policy experience", too? HRC didn't "misspeak", she lied. You don't misspeak if you are reading from a prepared statement.

Arnold, WV   March 25th, 2008 9:18 am ET

Misspoke?Just like her husband misspoke when he said "I did not have sexual relations with that woman'.George Washington said "I cannot misspeak,I chopped down the cherry tree.Barry Bonds misspoke about not using steroids. This adds a whole new light to things.Misspoke ,yea right.

julie   March 25th, 2008 9:17 am ET

isn't obama in st,thomas on the beach, maybe visiting with rev,Wright who is in st,croix, funny they are both in the virgin islands at the same time. Whats going on here?

Cliff   March 25th, 2008 9:17 am ET

Hillary - will say anything to get elected.

Abbey   March 25th, 2008 9:16 am ET

Hmmm…I'm pretty sure that was a big ol' lie! Paint it any color you want, but a lie is a lie.

The sadness about this is that she doesn't have to lie about something like this-why isn't she pointing out the truthfulness of her record rather than make a dumb mistake like this.

I'm not a Clinton fan, but this is beyond dumb. The american people think your UNTRUSTWORTHY-this doesn't help your cause Hillary.

Casey from Canada   March 25th, 2008 9:16 am ET

Yeah.. Misspoke. So, we should take her at her word and continue to torment Obama for someone else word.

Her words, Florida and Michigan counts for nothing and later it is Obama's fault. Just words?

Fair is Fair. Or Did I forget American have forgotten that.

Cliff   March 25th, 2008 9:16 am ET

Hillary - loose with the truth.

Marguerite Nash   March 25th, 2008 9:15 am ET

I think that was a pretty big "misspoken." If she can continue to repeat her claims like she has so many times, how can she be trusted to run the White House? Seems to me Bush has basically said the same things many times????

And why do the Clintons keep bringing McCain's name up so often and praising her so much???? Are they voting for McCain????

What!!   March 25th, 2008 9:15 am ET

NOT HILLARY- SHE SUPPOSE TO BE PERFECT—THAT'S WHAT HER SUPPORTERS BELIEVE.

dm from PGH   March 25th, 2008 9:15 am ET

Wow Hillary. That's sad. She says she has all this foreign policy experience and one of the examples she gives is a lie. She did not "misspeak", she LIED. It seems like another example that shows Clinton will do anything, including trying to deceive the voters by distorting what is true, to win the election. The scariest thing is that if this video had never surfaced, she would have acted as if her story was 100% accurate, knowing that it was completely exaggerated.

steveg   March 25th, 2008 9:14 am ET

Now this is a situation in which she could really use Bill's advice… how to deflect criticism when caught in a situation in which you "misspoke" and misrepresented the truth. Shameless.

vicki   March 25th, 2008 9:14 am ET

Or you could say **** SHE WAS LYING******

Urbandale   March 25th, 2008 9:14 am ET

Minor blip?
That kind of minor blip caused US 4000 dead in Iraq. Think about it.

Ray, Atlanta Ga   March 25th, 2008 9:14 am ET

Hillary Clinton is a joke and a liar, I do not see any bulletproof clothing on either. Another lie, I do not believe anything she says.

Bill, Sacramento   March 25th, 2008 9:14 am ET

Mis-spoke!! That could be the difference between pushing the button and not pushing the button.

"I meant DON'T push the button - I just mis-spoke"

Ooops!!!!!

SR(Queens, NY)   March 25th, 2008 9:13 am ET

She Misspoke??? She flat out LIED, TRUTHFULLY, and KNOWINGLY! This adds to why she should not be President!

Let's see if CNN pundits jump on this the same way they would if it were Obama!

BARACK OBAMA '08

Adam in Indy   March 25th, 2008 9:13 am ET

Do you mean misspoke as in "He (rev. wright) never used deragorty speech when I attend his services"

QuasiMondo   March 25th, 2008 9:13 am ET

Geez, next thing you know she'll be talking about how she personally cleaned up Harlem after Bill set up shop on 125th st.

Bob   March 25th, 2008 9:13 am ET

Gee and I thought she had a ton of experience! Oh wait that's right she has experience at misleading people for her own purposes.

Looks like more resume padding to me…

Go OBAMA 08

Jared   March 25th, 2008 9:13 am ET

Misspoke? Yeah I can see forgetting or confusing details about geting shot at and having to run to your car. Just like someone could confuse details about her "35 years" of experience or other foreign policy experience. That coupled with her inability to do simple math problems (delegate count), if I were a Clinton supporter, not only would I urge my candidate to drop out of the race, but I'd urge them to seek medical attention for what appears to be the early stages of dementia and forgetfulness.

Mark   March 25th, 2008 9:13 am ET

No big deal. She was visiting foreign countries. She wasn't baking cookies at the White House.

Every time the Obama camp brings up foreign policy it serves ad another reminder that Obama does not have any experience.

Orlando from Sevile, Spain, Europe   March 25th, 2008 9:12 am ET

Sorry, I think my English is not good enough. Misspoke? Is that the word to be used when someone says something that is in contradiction with facts?

I thought it was a lie.

PA   March 25th, 2008 9:12 am ET

This is not misspeaking - this is misleading voters!

Hillary needs to release all of her papers and taxes so that we can see where else she is trying to mislead voters, before we have to vote on April 22.

Gbest   March 25th, 2008 9:12 am ET

HA! How do you forget something like that? How is that something that you can "misspeak"? This is especially troubling when you have spoken about this several times in MUCH DETAIL. She is a liar and will do anything to get into office. This would be Bush III regime. You do NOT FORGET landing in sniper fire with your child just as you would not forget giving birth with said child. Are we all that stupid?

VW, Montgomery, AL   March 25th, 2008 9:11 am ET

A "minor blip"? A minor blip is when words are used out of context or something is SLIGHTLY exaggerated. Her account on the trip to Bosnia last week was a lie, simple as that! I'm sure Clinton supporters will try their best to spin this as usual

Henry Miller, Cary, NC   March 25th, 2008 9:11 am ET

Hillary Clinton probably isn't an idiot, but she apparently thinks the rest of us are.

Jack   March 25th, 2008 9:10 am ET

So what she mispoke. Obama lied about NOT ever hearing the Rev. Wright spew his unpatriotic messages.

I swear that the MEDIA does not want this woman elected and the Dems are doom b/c Rev. Wright along with William Ayers will cost Obama the presidency.

CNN and MSNBC can go to hell for doing a disservice the media.

Appiah-Marfo   March 25th, 2008 9:10 am ET

Stop!, Stop!!, Stop!!! lying. It's always appropriate and potent, when people other than you tout your own horne. The content of resumes are factual and official. It is therefore, dishonest when an individual "manufacture contents".

VIVIAN   March 25th, 2008 9:10 am ET

Liar Liar

Frits   March 25th, 2008 9:10 am ET

I did not have sex with that woman…….oops I misspoke
How stupid do you think we are? We see just for what it is !!!
A flat out lie to boost "toughness". We should demand and expect more of our future president……..

Mike in Houston   March 25th, 2008 9:09 am ET

As Bill Clinton would say: It all depends on what the definition of "sniper fire" is….

So now we understand that exageration and lies are "minor blips" and were words "mispoken". Guess that explains President Bush's decision to invade Iraq. Just a "minor blip".

Danielle Harrington   March 25th, 2008 9:09 am ET

misspoke= lie

Phyllis   March 25th, 2008 9:09 am ET

Clinton News Network (CNN) -

The only place where a vacation trumps a candidate's mis-spokeness.

How many mis-spokens equals a Bush.

Let's list some
1. NAFTA
2. Bosnia
3. S-chip

Joe   March 25th, 2008 9:09 am ET

How exactly do you mis-speak about getting shoot at? Just another clear indication that the Clintons will do and say anything to get back in the White House, including blowing up the democratic party.

TJ   March 25th, 2008 9:08 am ET

What else have you "misspoke" about? She's a liar, and not a very good one!
Obama 08

Renee   March 25th, 2008 9:08 am ET

Where are all the "Obama is a liar" screamers on this one…..

Hillary is a bigger liar. I think when you lie about your foreign policy experience that it would be a most significant lie of them all….Shows that she will do and say anything to get elected. But of course you Clinton supporters will make up another excuse for her "mistatement".

Scott M.-Kalamazoo, MI   March 25th, 2008 9:08 am ET

Geeze Louise, she really "misspoke" in great detail. I think embellishment or down and out lying is more the word for it. If she is the democratic nominee we are doomed to another four years of Republican cronism. Wake up democrats before its too late.

Wayne, Greenville TX   March 25th, 2008 9:07 am ET

In other words, she lied.

Barack Obama keeps looking better and better every time someone involved with the Clinton campaign opens their piehole…

George   March 25th, 2008 9:07 am ET

"Misspoke", this has been consistent with the Clinton campaign - all lies, spin and shades of the truth. Adversity exposes character.

Sure   March 25th, 2008 9:07 am ET

She's described it "as running with heads down to avoid sniper fire" MORE THAN ONCE SHE'S USED THAT LIE!!

Now shes back peddling on her comments!!

"Thats what I remember from it"???

We already have a senile old McCain out there, why would we want Hillary too with her lies?

Gerry   March 25th, 2008 9:07 am ET

Mispoke-lol. How about a bare faced lie?

Call it wthat it was.

Sean   March 25th, 2008 9:06 am ET

Misspoke….right.

Jose A. Nieves   March 25th, 2008 9:06 am ET

What a despicable liar!

Mel   March 25th, 2008 9:06 am ET

MISSPOKE? Sounds like a LIE to me! What a slap in the face to us in the military. This is not a MINOR BLIP, it's a MAJOR LIE!!

I trust Obama!!!

Jordan   March 25th, 2008 9:06 am ET

Here it is… the beginning of the Clinton damage control! Hillary will have a lot more explaining to do after people scrutinize her first-lady experience claims!

Stephen   March 25th, 2008 9:06 am ET

…hey, seemed like a good lie at the time. oops. you mean there's video footage that unquestioningly makes my statement a lie. oh yeah… i "mispoke" sorry.

Florida   March 25th, 2008 9:06 am ET

Look at a youtube video Obama goes to Africa He went there to a crown of Muslims.

Bob Stephens   March 25th, 2008 9:06 am ET

I think Clintons 35 years of experience is about as honest as this make believe story that she hatched up for the election. She and Bill are a match made in "heaven". " I did not have sex with that women"…………. What is amazing is that there are so many people in Pennsylvania that are buying her BS stories and going to vote for her in the primary.

vicki $$$$$$$$   March 25th, 2008 9:05 am ET

Why can't you just say the words *******she was lying*********** ***************************

kenney   March 25th, 2008 9:05 am ET

all she does is lie to the people and they fall for it. hillary support wake up and smell the Obama.

Nando, Florida   March 25th, 2008 9:05 am ET

no she LIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you expect from a Clinton?????

Ally   March 25th, 2008 9:04 am ET

Liar Liar pants on fire :)

Jeff   March 25th, 2008 9:04 am ET

LIAR LIAR LIAR!!! YOU LIED ON YOUR JOB INTERVIEW SO YOU ARE NOT GETTING THE JOB!!! Nice try!

jess   March 25th, 2008 9:03 am ET

how about the claim of bringing peace in ireland? a nobel laureate who participated in the process laughed when he heard hillary's claim about her role on that issue.

i see a pattern of minor blips, and not one…

Dan   March 25th, 2008 9:03 am ET

I didn't have sex with that women! This Clinton thing has a ring to it! Go to youtube and watch the video Hillary doesn't want you to see, "Peter Paul"! Then go to MSNBC to see the real news, Fox and CNN are bais, and two weeks behind in their stories.

I dare CNN not block this out!

Disappointed   March 25th, 2008 9:03 am ET

I saw the speech she was giving and basically she lied! There is no way she can twist what she said. Hillary Clinton has been stretching the truth and out right lying about her experience this entire time. She is campaigning on experience that she doesn’t have and misleading everyone.
