Sen. Barack Obama is challenging Sen. Hillary Clinton to release her 2006 tax returns.
Sen. Barack Obama is challenging Sen. Hillary Clinton to release her 2006 tax returns.

(CNN) — A spokesman for Hillary Clinton’s campaign sent out a press release Tuesday morning belatedly attacking Barack Obama for his failure to release his tax returns – at virtually the exact moment the Illinois senator’s campaign posted his 2000-2006 filings on his campaign Web site. [View tax returns here]

“In the public record there are 20 years of Hillary's tax returns, hundreds of thousands of pages of records from her time in White House and countless other documents detailing her time in public life. Sen. Obama's record is far more opaque. Sen. Obama has not released his tax returns, except for 2006,” Clinton spokesman Phil Singer said in a statement sent to reporters just as the Obama camp posted the Illinois senator’s returns online.

The newly-released Obama documents include all schedules. In a statement sent to reporters, the Obama campaign criticized Clinton for not releasing her 2006 tax returns, pointing to her decision to lend her campaign $5 million earlier this year, and former President Bill Clinton’s $20 million payout from supermarket holding company Yucaipa.

Clinton has promised to release the returns sometime after this year’s April 15 tax deadline, just a few days before Pennsylvania’s April 22 primary.

“Senator Clinton recently claimed that she’s ‘the most transparent figure in public life,’ yet she’s dragging her feet in releasing something as basic as her annual tax returns,” Obama’s communications director, Robert Gibbs, said in a statement. “Senator Clinton can’t claim to be vetted until she allows the public the opportunity to see her finances — particularly with respect to any investment in tax shelters.”

UPDATE: At a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Clinton announced that she would be moving up the release date of her tax returns, and might make the documents public within the week.

SHAME on you Hillary Clinton… haha.

I want to know where Hillary and Bill are getting the cash since they left office. Corruption, Scandal, Kickbacks… Snipers?

Hillary must not know what the word transparent is. She lies about NAFTA, "experience" and her foreign trips. I bet she cheated the IRS too.

Rikki   March 25th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

Small wonder Hillary Clinton is the toughest candidate , with all the hate, backstabbing and backbiting constantly aimed at her.

Knowledge is power. Having the knowledge of things allows people to take the right decision for themselves. I hope the american people understand that. Hiding something is also lying because for example, if you dont say you've been unfaithful to your spouse, you remain a liar. Hiding something is lying, remember that.

That's what my mamma told me growing up at least…

I will vote for Obama becuase he handles the gutter politics with dignity & grace. He is always a step ahead of Hillary. If he can forsee her dirty tricks and respond to them so quickly, then, he deserves to be President. I want a President who can bring people together and he is doing just that. Keep up the great work Obama. Mr. President!

I believe Senator Hillary Clinton has a gross amount of hiden agendas on her finances and is tr ying to get in as far as she can through the back door before the deadline for filing and if the dead line is extended she would try to wait out through that also. In my opinion this candidate is as slick as a come. SHOULD BE CALLED SLICK Hillie

I once heard that a biographer of Hillary say that she "had a difficult relationship with the truth". Seems his insights were valid.

Suzanne   March 25th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

Hey Suzy,

If you want to know more about Barack's position, all you have to do is go to Barack's website. Just like if you want to learn about Hillary's or McCain's, go to their respective websites as well.

You'd be surprised what you'll learn if you do a little research. However, if you want to verify the legislative experience for any of them, there are plenty of governmental websites showing exactly what bills they have written. By the way, between Clinton and Obama, the score is 2 to 2 in important pieces of legislation, and one of Obama's was regarding transparency. :)

Release Tax Return from 1993!!!

And is this Obamas and Michelles Tax Return???

Mad Texan   March 25th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

She is so absolutely right in doing so. She does not have the release them until after April 15. That is the deadline for filing, STUPID. So Obama supporters and his campaign shut the h…! up. You are beginning to sound ridiculous if this is all you can smear Hillary with. I am dang tired of your smear tactics on Bill also. He is not running for President, however, you Obama could not even sweep up the tracks of this man. I doubt even that you could shine his shoes. YEAH BOY!!! He is the greatest President of modern times. Obama will never be able to balance the budget or leave the office with three trillion dollars for a Republican to give away. HILLARRY 08

Hillary, when you do release you tax returns, will there be any "miswrites" in the information similar to your "misspeak" on Bosnia?

BigAce   March 25th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

Yeah Dawn, good post

Why aren't the Clintonians asking for Hillary's earmarks, tax returns and Library donations list? Could they be afraid of what the information would show? It's hypocritical to call out your opponent for something that you have failed to produce.

I was just now listening clip where HRC is mocking Sen.Obama for Rev. Wright sermons. So I think she is bigger sleazy ball than anybody expected. John McCain refused such a personal attacks. Now when we know how these clips were created and broadcasted by FOX News happily all the time, HRC takes it as a weapon against Barack Obama. Is she really Democrat or is she hidden Republican? Well I think mainly she is a liar.

how do you loan your campaign 5 million dollars as a stimulus pkg bcz her campaign was floundering for cash at the time. thats the ross perot move. its also funny we wont see those tax returns til just before the penn primaries doubt even then. everything is reveal the truth after the nomination. i want to know the truth about who i am nominating before i nominate you.

Past primary and caucus results have shown that EDUCATED voters heavily favor Obama, and UNEDUCATED voters heavily favor Hillary. Just goes to show that everyone can see through Hillary's LIES and DISTORTIONS except the sadly IGNORANT, who blindly accept all of the drivel she and her supporters keep dishing out. WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!

History repeats itself. We see it all the time. Maybe we should look at the historical accounts of Hitler's rise to power in the 1930s. You will notice some startling similarities between her campaign and his. Saying that pledged delegates can switch sides is putting her one step closer to facist dictator. You can almost hear the jack-boots marching.

1. She lied about foreing policy experience. You can't "mispoke" about imaginary bullets. Esp. if it's the central theme of your campaign.
2. Won't be transparent with taxes. obama has
3. Won't be transparent with ear marked projects. obama has
4. She plays dirty

SHE LIED TO ADD SUBSTANCE TO HER "RESUME"! SHE ASKED THE AMERICA PUBLIC TO HIRE HER FOR THE JOB OF PRESIDENT — WELL HILLARY DO NOT DESERVE THE JOB BECAUSE SHE "EXAGGERATED HER RESUME".

SHE LIES ABOUT EVERYTHING — CAN'T HELP HERSELF — SHE IS BIPOLAR!

AJ   March 25th, 2008 3:14 pm ET

Obama's tax returns mean nothing. Do you really think he listed gains from his dirty property dealings with a criminal? The best thing that could happen to this country would be for Obama and all his crazed supporters to fall into a big hole, never to be seen again.

Jonathan Swift   March 25th, 2008 3:14 pm ET

Clinton has not released her tax returns or earmarks or contributors to the Clinton library since she and President Clinton left the White House. The 20 years previous is not the point. When Bill Clinton was running he refused to release his tax returns back to the point where it showed Hillary making a killing in cattle futures in the space of one day. I am suspicious that something(s) similar are in the documents yet to be released. The usual Clinton nonsense is to use April 15 as the deadline- as if the Clinton 2007 returns are the issue. Having never worked for the Clintons I can say she is ruthless, dishonest, and power hungry without being accused of being a Judas. No matter what happens, even if I hold my nose and vote for her in November, I will not feel that the sentiments just expressed are misspoken.

Mel   March 25th, 2008 3:13 pm ET

Stop the mad dog "Hillary". She is not capable to be white house again. She is lier, she is rude, she is "monster". The american people will not let her to do the damege on them again.

Obama campaign again denudes Hilary's campaing as an orgasam of intellectual anarchy. No wonder people are tired of Hilary. In the absence of having anything intelligent to say, she reverts to attacking. Maybe she will realie she has been outsmarted before she destroys the party.

Dear HRC,
The past few months have me shaking my head and pointing my finger at you.
You're consistant lies and attempts to do and say anything to win the nomination have led me to look beyond the Billary 1990's economics I so enjoyed.
You will never win my vote, even if you are nominated.

Obama 08! YES WE CAN

peace   March 25th, 2008 3:09 pm ET

Enough of the sniping! Both candidates have good points and bad points and every person needs to step back and determine who best matches with their interests. Let's quit beating up on each other to try to make your candiate look better by making the opposition look worse. This is not a matter of right or wrong. Bottom line is Hillary's continued lying is as bad as what Obama's pastor said. No one is really convincing anyone else to change sides. All that is happening is we are managing to throw this election to the Republicans. Are you so concerned with being right that you are willing to let the Republicans have a few more years? Just look at the state of affairs in the U.S. today when you respond. Do you want more of the same?

Kathy from Michigan   March 25th, 2008 3:09 pm ET

Hillary invested $1000 in cattle future and made $100, 000 profit when they lived in Arkansas. She didn't disclose this profit until the year in White House. Rather than admitting to have insider information and treated favorally by the agent because of her status as the wife of the governer, she said she made such outrageous profit because her father read the financial section of the newspaper for her when she was young. This is Hillary, always hiding, omitting and changing the facts, so did she do with the whitewater and travel budget office.

mary   March 25th, 2008 3:09 pm ET

So all of You Obama people keep puting down
Hillary what about all the misspoken words OBama says
everyday no one makes a big deal out of it. You know he is
in a lot of troubel over Rev. Wright and now the other Rev.
who says hate full stuff like the first one. By the way a poll
was taken and it says 55% of the people sirvaded did
not want Obama for President that should tell you
some thing. Obama people want us to forget about the Rev.and
the slum lord on trail. But who can when he belongs to a church for 20 years and says those hate full things and then he says he
never herd it and they in his speech he says he did who is
the liar now . I would not trust him to be president as soon as he is
we would have that Rev. Wright by his side advising him
do you really want some one like that in the white house not me.

NLC frm New York   March 25th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

What is everybody concerned about. Hillary said she will release them by 4-15-08 and she will do as she said. Good know that Obama's taxes are out lets see how much he gave to his Church and let's see how much he received from Rezko or how much Rezko gave him with another name or company or institution.

Allison D.B.   March 25th, 2008 3:07 pm ET

Hilliary has been in this downard spiral from the very begining of this campaign. Anytime your not willing to talk about the issues/solutions of this country and, focus on Bush,Obama, Richardson bashing. That tells the American people that you've already been defeated, (She's actually the one that killed her own camapaign). Stick to something that's at least attainable.

Right after she "misspoke" about Bosnia too. She said that she has never misspoke about it before, but again, more lies.

On March 17, she said in a speech:

I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.

In a Feb. 29 speech she said:

I remember a trip to Bosnia where the welcoming ceremony had to be moved inside because of sniper fire.

Slick Willie's Daddy   March 25th, 2008 3:02 pm ET

Funny thing about this: I have a bi-polar cousin that sees things that aren't there too. It sounds like someone needs her medication. Better yet, it could be a Senior Moment. If this is the definition of being vetted, then she and McCain are truly kindreds.

One more thing:

Why hasn't Senator Clinton agreed to debate Obama in PA yet? Whatever happened to the "Meet me in Ohio" rhetoric? Surely she can call Obama's camp and work something out. The scheduling conflict excuse seems very precipitous not allow for at least one.

Hillary's campaign complained about Senator Obama not releasing his tax returns? When Hillary was asked to release her 2006 tax return she replied that she has released many tax returns in the past so she felt is was not necessary to release 2006. She is waiting until April 15th to release her 2007 tax return in the hopes we will forget about the 2006 return. She must think her 2006 tax return has something that will be a 'deal breaker' if revealed. The voter's have a right to see it NOW.

HIllary will release her taxes as she stated after APril 15. There are many years of Clinton records available, all clean.

Some of us really will not vote for the other candidate, simply because we do not like that candidate — this is not being spiteful but reflects personal opinions that are deeply held. I will not vote for Obama — I think he is ruining this country by running for president at a time when he needs to be getting more senate experience. This is just my opinion, but I am tired of hearing everyone blaming Hillary when she is more "prime time" in her life for this moment than the competition.

I take Hillary at her word about saying that she misspoke. Is it possible that her speechwriter may be to blame for this? As for Obama getting his tax records out just at the moment Hillary's camp asks about them…hmmm…makes me wonder if Obama has a spy working in Hillary's camp. Given all the nasty rhetoric flying between the two camps, I wouldn't be surprised at all if that was the case.

There are just too many things about the Clinton's, they practice the art of deciption, and tactics that in my opinion are not good for America, imagine how one would raise thier kids, be a great example not a trash talker, would you tell your kids that putting other people down and throwing in the kitchen sink each time you know your fate is the way to go for America. Some people just don't know how to quit even though when they know at the end she will loose.

OBAMA has this locked down, it's like being down by 5 touchdowns, the other team is still trying to be respectable, but the time eventually runs out and the score is pretty much the same result. somehow she thinks she can trick the public and ruin the party's chance to get elected in 2008. She need to let it go save face, she is loosing creditbility and the lies and desciption is becoming even more obvious as times goes by.

The oft-used line "There are 20 years of tax returns" is so misleading it may as well be a lie.

THE TWENTY YEARS THEY TALK ABOUT ARE 1980-2000. They deliberately don't say this to make it sound like the "last 20 years." I don't know why no one calls them on it.

The years after 2000 are when they became Multi-millionaires! It is important to know how the Clintons personally made many millions of dollars in that 6-7 years. Who are they indebted to? They could just call their accountant and release those returns, leading us to wonder what they are hiding?

In 2008, we have two (2) and two (2) only viable presidential candidates – Clinton and McCain. I shall vote for Clinton if I find her name on ballot. If Clinton is not there, for the first time in over 40 years I will vote for a Republican. At my age, you do the right thing, and that which is best for the country. Tex   March 25th, 2008 2:45 pm ET

Hillary, please tell me that you didn't "misspeak" or "miswrite" flase information on your tax return. What the hold-up?

Nat Apir   March 25th, 2008 2:44 pm ET

Billary, is a pathological liar, serial spinner and one of the the most vindictiive , sadistic and tyranical characters to have come out of America. These characters will distroy any one, and anything to get to the White House .

spyturtle   March 25th, 2008 2:44 pm ET

the clinton's blind ambition. a campaign run by inept politicians that under estimate the public. dinosaurs that didn't keep up with the times. hillary with her xerox. a campaign always one step behind….politics as usual doesn't work anymore when information is at our fingertips at all times.

JoAnne Allen   March 25th, 2008 2:44 pm ET

What does misspoke mean? isn't that the same as I told a story that I knew was not true. She has the audacity to state that she says so many words that she will naturally misspeak at times. How many times has she done this that nobody checked. Sometimes I truly think that she doesn't know what she did or didn't do. It depends on what's needed at the moment, and who is the audience. That is why I just don't trust her and I never will.

And another thing, what is wrong with James Carvel? He looks terrible and he is another one who misspeaks.

If Obama is so fixated on the Clinton tax returns, perhaps he should run for IRS Commissioner. He certainly is not presidential material – not even close. Standing on stage while his henchman labels a US President of being like McCarthy – that is a page out of the Reverend WRIGHT PLAYBOOK.

Kurt   March 25th, 2008 2:43 pm ET

I'm keeping the faith that Obama's colors will continue to come out . . . he's way too sneaky . . . I'm on to him . . . and many others are starting to see the light too . . . this is one democrat who will be voting for McCain if Obama is the nominee . . . no question . . .

Sham   March 25th, 2008 2:42 pm ET

Hillary has definitely lost my vote! The lying Bosnia trip episode just adds to the conglomerate reasons why one should not vote for Hillary:

Hillary supporters should google HILLARY PROJECT and research this candidate before you make the huge mistake of voting for her.

Republican   March 25th, 2008 2:42 pm ET

Who Cares The Democrats R Worthless They Dont Know How To Run A Country Especially Obama

Belle   March 25th, 2008 2:42 pm ET

Have all you people rejoicing in Obama releasing his tax records actually read and compared them yet? Or are you just too busy bashing Clinton?

Take note of Michelle's salary increase, and the fact that Rev Wright doesn't consider him a rich man. If only I was so poor…

Abraham   March 25th, 2008 2:42 pm ET

I like to know: What kind of moral lessons was Hillary teaching her daughter when she kept lying to us about her "Bosnia, under snipper shots" experience?

And what will her Super-delegate supporters do enlight of this horrific lie she has been telling the nation for how long now? Hopefully, they wille exercise due judgement and rush to their other option. Sen. Obama.

donna   March 25th, 2008 2:42 pm ET

Bill Richardson has every right to lend his endorsement to whomever he desires! The Clinton's are NOT entitled to the presidency!!! Their tactics are disgusting! We certainly do not want their lies, distortions, and cover-ups in the oval office! Haven't we had that from Bill and now George?!? And let's see those tax returns! Give 'em and IT up!!! Go Obama!

Deborah   March 25th, 2008 2:42 pm ET

Slick Billary has a lot of junk to erase from her records that is why she/he has not released the information.

Slick Billary is a liar and a deceiver.

Americans don't be fooled by her/his lies!!

Cheryl   March 25th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

I hear a lot of nothing going on. This campaign is a media circus and every one of us(me included) are playing along. The comments are about people none of us really know. Your going to vote for who you are going to vote for and let's just leave it at that.

Zeke   March 25th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

Hillary take your basketball and go home. Nobody wants you on their team.

Jason   March 25th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

It's amazing that people (Obama supporters) are worried about Hillary's returns while at this very moment she is giving a speech about solutions for the economy…hmmm, which one should we care about more.

let's stick to the issues people!

Hillary 2008   March 25th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

Haha! Wondering what else can Obama attack Hillary except tax return?

Nothing else right? So Obama people are singing the same song every day until they are tired? Maybe never?

We need Hillary, No Obama

Trish - PA   March 25th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

I am amazed at the grammar and spelling of the majority of Clinton supporters who post comments. And most of these comments have no substance and are filled with name calling and hate. I guess it's true that the educated people tend to be Obama supporters and the uneducated people… well, you get my drift.

Hey DGH, u STOP!!! Why is it that Clinton supporters always try to turn a positive into a negative. Obama has been a transparent figure from the start. Who cares about all the years prior that are out, the fact is that they all should have been out on both sides much earlier. Hillary is obviously hiding something harmful to her campaign or she would have relaesed them by now… she is probably using the black marker on them as she did with her schedules to cover up harmful information

Melissa   March 25th, 2008 2:38 pm ET

People, be civil, please. I repeat, you are hurting your favored candidate in the general election.

JD   March 25th, 2008 2:37 pm ET

Hillary deserves to be president because she spent approximately 8 years defending against scandals created by her husband? This is not the type of experience we need in the White House.

My fear is that there will only be more of the same if she is elected. Her reluctance to provide tax returns is a sign that she is hiding something..AGAIN.

VOTE OBAMA

Rob   March 25th, 2008 2:36 pm ET

Obamaniacs, he is not going to get elected…Bet the house on that…We couldn't stop Bush with Kerry or Gore, who were squeaky clean, Obama is as anti American as they come, he is not getting in…

Cindy   March 25th, 2008 2:36 pm ET

Yes Hillary you "misspoke", you misspoke about lots of things!!!! Your experience as listed on your resume is slowly whithering away to becoming non-consequential!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So as I have always known judgement over experience especially when one lies about theirs is what americans can COUNT on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hillary you're the one that bringing down the democratic party!!!!!!! Not Richardson, NOT Obama, NOT the news,.NOT the DNC only YOU!!!!!

Wise up Pennsylvanians—- she doesn't care about you or your state!!! SHE ONYL CARES ABOUT ONE THING WINNING EVEN IF SHE HAS TO PLAY DIRTY TO DO IT!!!!

Bilbo983   March 25th, 2008 2:35 pm ET

It is not Senator Obama who has been misrepresenting the voters; it is Senator Clinton who has done so. Senator Clinton can't win on truths as she has plenty to hide. I just don't trust her. I expect her campaign promises to be as empty as her claims as her foreign policy experiences. It's time she stops exhibiting herself as an angry woman. obsessed with winning at whatsoever costs.

It's hard for parents, with daughters, to try to explain to them that not all women do opt for misrepresentation and dirty kitchen tactics to reach their ambition, like what Senator Clinton is doing.

Wynter (NH)   March 25th, 2008 2:34 pm ET

How many spokesmen does Obama have on his "attack dog leash"? It seems there are dozens of attack dogs he lets loose to mangle the facts and rant about something stupid in the press.

Where is the clean politics, Obama?

The man doesn't have the experience, the skills, nor the knowledge to be the President, but so many blind fools seem to enjoy his speeches and empty rhetoric. Makes you want to design an IQ Test before giving people the right to vote. Wake up fools!

Simply saying,
Wynter

angela   March 25th, 2008 2:33 pm ET

If Obama is so transparent then he needs to release all his tax returns and his papers relating to his time in the illinois senate if he can find them because it appears he misplaced them, 5 years of tax returns doesn't add up to transparency, the obama camp has been whining about hillary releasing her schedules etc, he should do the same

Roger B from Portland, OR   March 25th, 2008 2:33 pm ET

I think this is the first taste of things to come. Obama is resting up, preparing himself for a big push. They aren't going to let the Clinton camp get to them. They will rise above it, as they have for most of the election.

Obama will regain anything lost after the Wright issue and will gain more I suspect. They wont attack Clinton, just be better than her, which is much easier than it seems.

Clinton dragged this into the mud, Obama got a little dirty but he's back from his shower and people will remember to see Obama for who he is, not how his opponents depict him.

Julius - Canada   March 25th, 2008 2:33 pm ET

The best way to let people not focus on your shadow is to have them discuss about somebody else or something else.
At times some of the candidates have been very successful in directing media attention away from their weaknesses and failures and moreso away from the things that really matter to the voters.

CY from a non democratic country   March 25th, 2008 2:33 pm ET

This is in regard to the previous article that is closed for comment in which Hillary says that pledged delegates can switch sides!!!!!

This woman is literally sounding like she will physically attack Obama if he wins this nomination. I am a Clinton supporter that is bowing out to vote for Obama because of this.. She has literally gone insane and she's left me wondering the agenda behind her grasping at straws. Hillary deserves to be President. Barack has not earned that privilege.

You just stop! The Clintons have so much garbage and lies that there is no room on one side of the Empire State Building.

sam   March 25th, 2008 2:31 pm ET

Hillary has misspoken many times. The most damaging has yet to come to common awareness. The case of Peter Paul vs Clinton will go ahead in California and if Clinton is the democratic candidate the existing tapes will almost certainly be used by the Republicans to "swift boat" her campaign. I would encourage that voters research this case.

Kevin   March 25th, 2008 2:31 pm ET

I'm ashamed of anybody criticizing Obama for taking a few days off right now. It's not for him, I'm sure… it's for his two young daughters who need some of his attention.

I don't care if you don't like or support Obama, but at least have a heart and some empathy and try to understand the world from somebody else's perspective. Don't make this into another political football.

William   March 25th, 2008 2:31 pm ET

Can someone please send me a link where I can see this "experience" from Mrs. Hillary Clinton? Can someone please stop her from saying that she has 35 years of it, because she doesn't…

With all this anticipation over tax returns, Democrats and Republicans alike will be going through them with a fine tooth comb looking for something.

I think the Clinton camp should release their returns pronto and end the anticipation…It is actually within the Clinton's best interests.

This argument from the Obamas is ridiculous. It is just meant to deflect from their problems (big ones I might add) and because they have nothing real to attack her on. But, every single day they find some non essential thing to say negative about her.
They want to steal the election, not win on his own merits.

Senator Clinton already stated she will have her returns available when they are filed. I still haven't finished my returns yet and I only have one income coming in.

Also, to those who state that Senator Clinton is going to ruin this for the democratic party, please stop.

Pinnochio Clinton   March 25th, 2008 2:22 pm ET

OOOOOOOOOO…let me be!

I am just waiting for my nose to shrink.

German Merman   March 25th, 2008 2:22 pm ET

As a German, I am puzzled by the American obsession with tax files. Over here in Germany, nobody in his right mind would care about the taxreturns of a politician. These things are private in Germany and everybody respects this privacy.

As far as I know, the IRS is VERY thorough with income tax files, so any hanky-panky would not go unnoticed. Clinton has to file a lot of information about her financial situation as a senator, so what kinds of world shattering relevations do Clinton haters expect?

The First Lady files were just good for another stroll down memory lane to the Lewinsky affair and I guess that the tax files will not reveal much more. There are already 20 years of files available to gloat about, so what do you expect? She knew years ago that she would run for office, so cheating for a couple of thousands of dollars would not be worth it, would it?

Why is she not releasing her tax returns now? I guess that she wants to have the headlines or the stuff is just not available right now. We will see…

Ratgurl   March 25th, 2008 2:22 pm ET

I bet the next thing the Clinton campaign demands is a letter from Obama's kindergarten teacher. Seriously, Hill, you're just digging the hole deeper. Keep digging!

madeleine   March 25th, 2008 2:22 pm ET

I would be very surprised if Clinton's tax returns are made public before Pennsylvania's primary but you never know. In any case I'm sure someone is working very hard right now at making everything look good.
Does anyone really expect those tax returns to be truthful?

Janet   March 25th, 2008 2:20 pm ET

I was recently at a meeting for women supporters of Clinton in PA and we were talking about the issues. I learned that Hillary recently lied about her experience in Bosnia.

Many of us decided that we have had enough of this. We agreed that we kept ignoring the negatives from Hillary because we so desperately wanted to have a women as president.

Well we just learned that Obama is considering Sebelius as his running mate. She is the women who led the democratic address to the last Bush State of the Union address. She is a wondering lady and committed mother and wife. She'd make a great VP.

Obama is our choice.

Golly!!! What is the big deal? If there isn't anything to hide she surely makes you wonder…..

Candical   March 25th, 2008 2:19 pm ET

Clinton is not going to release her tax returns until a time just before the Pa. primary. The documents will not be complete. The full understanding of them and the questions that will be raised will be too late to be published prior to voting. Then they will blame everyone else for "unfair dirty attacks.

sacto joe   March 25th, 2008 2:19 pm ET

How ironic! Clinton starts to blast Obama for not releasing HIS tax returns, which he is at that moment in the process of doing – and she STILL hasn't released her tax returns!!

Come on, Hillary: confession is good for the soul.

Paul-Williams   March 25th, 2008 2:18 pm ET

I'm far more interested in Obama's dealings with Resko, ties to Wright and that terrorist group that dombed the Pentagon than I interested in his tax return. A uniter worshiping with a congregration that preaches seperation of the races and blames his country for 911? You just wait until the Republicans have a go at him.

Maggie   March 25th, 2008 2:17 pm ET

tomdavie   March 25th, 2008 2:16 pm ET

I dunno folks. Obama releases his tax returns, then DEMANDS Clinton does the same, except she is under no obligation to do so. Its actually very stupid. Obama DEMANDS because he is KING of the united states?

I think Clinton made the smart play here. She doesnt jump and down because Obama and his cronies tell her to do so. That would be worse than waiting.

She will release em by april 15th. If there is any real dirt, Obama can hit her over the head with it then. If there isnt, Obama will look like an IDIOT.

Come on Barack release all those tax forms from your early political years up until this year. The country woild like to see how you made all the connections in your early political endeavors, where, how much ,and what you as a neophye poiltician became so successful/ powerful in such a short time and where the MONEY came from and is still coming from. What is good for Hillary is good for you. Any politico from Chicago is one that should be checked and double checked.

Tim   March 25th, 2008 2:15 pm ET

Oh Hillary, what lie will you use on April 16th as to why you wont release them before the 22nd? Hmmmmm? Mayhaps you got caught in some more sniper fire.

Charlie Murphy   March 25th, 2008 2:14 pm ET

Hillary needs 80 percent of the remaining super delegates so basically it's over. The only thing she can accomplish now is to create an environment where Obama loses so that she can run in 2012. This is the new strategy from the Clinton campaign according to many.

As a democrat I find it upsetting that we are allowing this to go on. It's time for the super delegates to step in and end this mess once and for all.

Jim   March 25th, 2008 2:14 pm ET

I was just watching Sen. Clinton on your live feed, and now i understand why you won't carry her live on cnn, she make Bush, Mccain, and Obama look like fools.

Correct, so let's see—– so far we have the so-called expert in foreign affairs (who can't seem to remember what her visit was like to one of the places she quoted as touting when alluding to her foreign affairs experience) AND now that she has quoted herself as the one that is vetted and as the most" transparent person she knows, REALLY SO WHERE ARE "YOUR" tax returns HILLARY?????

She lied to the people in the Macrh 4th debate by stating that she would release them in two weeks and then she moved the deadline to AFTER the April 15th income tax deadline…. ALL SHE EVER DOES IS PLAY BY HER OWN RULES!!!!! WHATEVER WORKS FOR HILLARY APPARENTLY IS WHAT SHE'S VOTING FOR….

I CAN'T SEE HOW HILLARY SUPPORTERS CAN'T TELL WHEN THE WOOL IS BEING PULLED OVER THEIR EYES!!!!!

Mohamed   March 25th, 2008 2:11 pm ET

Has any one watched Michael Moore documentary about Health Care. In there there was a clip about how much money Hillary was given to forget about the social health plan she was fighting for. I hope some one would bring that up in her tax return….etc. Something is not right here. I think she will need to be more truthful. Her husband indeed did well for the country during his presidency, but I do not know about her !!!!! Why not release her taxes in detail ?????????!!!!!

Being in the white house for a number of years gives you the experience to be commander in chief of the US of A. Chealse Clinton should start warming up she has the experience more than Obama. Even in foreign policy. After all was she not in Bosnia too? Gutter politics?

Eli, Milwaukee   March 25th, 2008 2:08 pm ET

Ha! Like always Obama got one up on the Hillary camp. He consistently shows that he has nothing to hide while Hillary continues to be this candidate of secrecy.

They thought by making this comment that it would overshadow and defuse Obama's request for the past couple months for Hillary to release her tax returns so as to uncover who has been contributers to her and Bills bank account , which she STILL has yet to do. So they thought he would be just as reluctant to reveal his(Obama) and therefore could shoot back with "why should we reveal something that you refuse to do yourself?"

Well, they underestimated Obama. He is not only an candidate of change in regards to politics, but he is also the candidate that has the ability of how politicians do business in Washington!

Obama 08!

Cheryl Wilson   March 25th, 2008 2:07 pm ET

I think lying about Bosnia is a lot harder for Hillary to explain than anything that's likely to be on her tax returns. Still, it is strange that they're waiting so long to release them. It's not like they can't hire someone to get them out quickly. The delay makes no sense.

Amanda   March 25th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

Who gives a pigs eye about tax returns, who said, she said, he said. If they what to win they need to talk about what is important. Our economy, the war, health insurance, etc. Enough already with the elementary fighting.

Gil - California   March 25th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

Too bad so say Hillary. Or should I say

Close, but no cigar!

Adams   March 25th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

Clinton is not a legitimate candidate unless she is vetted – should she fail in this process then all the campaigning is for nought. If there is not something to hide then her returns should be forthcoming

Yonas   March 25th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

Hillary, he already did, long ago. His six year tax return, include last year. Why you are so scared to do same thing. I guess there is something mystery about that.

You know just be honest about yourself. I believe there is nothing wrong with that.

debra   March 25th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

In response to a note I saw earlier today. So now that Obamas people are through playing the race card, it sounds like they are starting in criticizing people over 30. Apparently we are all a bunch of geezers. Apparently we are too old to have hopes and dreams of our own. What do they want? They think that older people should be seen and not heard? They must really hate their parents. They need a reality check that people over 30 make up a good part of this country, and with age comes experience- something that Obama and his people don't have. And just to get this straight- just to prove you really don't know anything at all – since Obama people think Clinton supporters are all geezers- I know a lot of college kids that like Clinton. So stop the name calling and just shut up until you get a brain to go with the saize of your pie hole.

Bryan   March 25th, 2008 2:03 pm ET

Doesnt matter she wont release them. SHe will be too afraid of sniper fire to post them. This woman will lie cheat and steal to get into office. Do we REALLY want another Bush?

Trev   March 25th, 2008 2:02 pm ET

About time. Now he finally has something to talk about. Of course he has not released his state Senate docs yet. According to him they could well have been thrown out. Maybe there would have been something in there about why he voted "present" all those times instead of taking an actual stand on the issues.

I am done with Obama. I thought he was a good person until the McCarthy attack. It is going to be hard for Democrats to unite around a person who hasn't offered a substantive proposal in weeks.

K.Wright   March 25th, 2008 2:02 pm ET

Hillary's camp outmaneuvered?! What has this campaign come to. Obama girl is right. Hillary needs to go back to New York, her pseudo home for the sake of getting into the senate.

cj   March 25th, 2008 2:02 pm ET

Wait a minute we are waiting for Hillary's 2006 taxes?

Joseph   March 25th, 2008 2:02 pm ET

Why Clintons are hiding things from general public. This shows Hilary is not honest.

She is trying to get the nomination through back door. If she gets this way, young people like me will stay away from general election.

Democratic leaders are wasting time now. It is them who need to talk now and let Hilary know the facts.

Remember, people living in small states are people too and are part of Unites States of America

Colie Brice   March 25th, 2008 2:02 pm ET

I'd like to see all financial dealings Obama had on realstate with Ruso, and want to know why Obama has'nt revoked the Black panthers support, And why he would let his child sit in that church that shed so many bad ideas about white folks and my Country. Terry

Dave/HI   March 25th, 2008 2:01 pm ET

You think the Clinton's tax returns is the only problem they are facing? Let me see…..how about Hillary's mis-statements (I call them lies) of everything see says about her past "political" background? Every time she or Bill says are negative and over the top and that is making our democratic voters disgusted and irritated. If the Clinton's campaign continues to play dirty politics and spread sickening and stupid comments about Barack, we the democratic voters will not forget this when general election comes about. Obama talks and stands for character and judgement in the political sphere. And I believe in him. Character and judgement is the key to everything in this primary. Just remember, Hillary had never resorted to "dirty politics" when she was in the lead and she stated so. But, as soon as she began to fall behind, all I hear from her campaign is negative.. negative … negative and more of slimy; stinky and dirty remarks or comments from them. That is why character and judgement is soo important in any political campaigning. It shows the true picture or background of a candidate. The lies and slimy remarks from her campaign team dictates what their party is all about. Just imagine, if she would become the next president, I couldn't trust her wisdom and leadership because of her mis-guided character and judgement.

dmw   March 25th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

It would be nice if Obama and his campaign tells us what he can do and his experience rather than always putting Hillary down about something. The 'change' and 'yes we can' does nothing to tell us what he can do other than the fact he was a community organizer in Chicago and was in the Illinois State Senate where he did not keep any records.

What is Obama's experience to run this Country? And where can we go to see his record to prove he has this experience?

Charles Alexander   March 25th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

She is not releasing her taxes because she has something to hide. Lending your failing campaign 4 million dollars is a huge deal that should bother people supporting her. She is intentionally waiting as long as she can so that should doesn't hurt her chances in her "must win" Pennsylvania’s April 22 primary.

When they do get released, I bet not everything will be on the "up and up".

robert   March 25th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

“Full disclosure on Senator Clinton’s part is especially important because she recently loaned $5 million to her campaign, shortly after revelations surfaced that her husband was to receive a $20 million payout from Yucaipa, a supermarket holding company that invests in tax shelters in the Cayman Islands,” the campaign said in its release accompanying the returns.

“Senator Clinton can’t claim to be vetted until she allows the public the opportunity to see her finances—particularly with respect to any investment in tax shelters,” said Obama Communications Director Robert Gibbs.

DavidMattews   March 25th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Hillary,

Obama just made you look sophomoric and puerile. For Hillary fans, that means stupid and idiotic (thought I would save you the time looking it up in the dictionary).

So…He's upped the anti, and responded to your attack even before you where finished with it. Time to live up to your own statement – lets see those tax returns. If you don't want to release them – I have no problem with that. My only demand in that case is that you bow out.

(I'd add "gracefully" to that last sentence, but the expiration date on that term has long since expired

I hope Hillary Clinton stops talking about her many years foreign experience and being vetted. How can she lie about her visit to Bosnia. She thought nobody will remember an event which took place twelf years ago – little did she know that the video for her arrival in Bosnia is there to be played. she cant pretend that she forgot she just lied. People are anxiously waiting to see her tax returns. She cant say she is vetted until her tax returns are submitted.

we non- americans think america has more hope of regaining lost non- american respect and hope with barack obama in the helm of affairs. with the clintons attack on obama's tax returns, the least said about it the better. it simple holds no merit.

That's right Obama make you point stand out….you have nothing to hide. Bring it all on. You have proving that you can take critical critizism and make it positive. You can accept agreements and disagreements. You are not trying to force the public to like or dislike you. Post your info. They won't find anything on it. C Glaeser   March 25th, 2008 1:50 pm ET

Refusal to release Hillary's tax returns – This is story that need to appear way more often that just once a week or so…. this is THE STORY which should LEAD every day, every night, non-ending until the Clinton's release their tax returns for the last several years….. there is WAY TOO much that we don't know about the source of Hillary's money…… she is running for PRESIDENT – if she won't be open & honest about how they went from well-off to super rich; well, that is a BIG PROBLEM… I'm hoping there is nothing there – but the longer they dig in, the longer they stall – the more it smells…… she shouldn't be able to even stall to April 15 – the people have a right to know…. if she wanted her tax returns kept private, she shouldn't have run for President of the United States….. do you think there is any chance that she is filing separately – would the Clinton's try to be that crafty as to think that would solve the income stream problem??

MJ   March 25th, 2008 1:50 pm ET

sunil de silva   March 25th, 2008 1:48 pm ET

I am a Democrat and was a strong supporter of Bill Clinton during his term as president and was shocked when the "Bushies" stole the election from Al Gore.
For the past seven years I have watched in horror and sadness, the mess that George Bush has created not only in this country but around the world.
However, I cannot stand by and not voice my concerns about Hilary Clinton and her lies, half truths and her attacks on Obama. I believe the Clintons will do anything to win the nomination and get to the White House. Imagine the possibility of fours years with Hilary and Bill in the background and the potential for four more!!!
If she gets the nomination, I will vote republican and for McCain!

Sorry, Pennsylvania will vote for this lier and cheat than voting for a honest and decent bi- racial American. That's why Pennsylvania will be the most Economically deprived state in this union if, Hilary or McCain wins. Give up your claim and become a team with Hillary and enjoy VP and grow up to become president

Stephanie, PA   March 25th, 2008 1:42 pm ET

How fitting. Spoke too soon, yes? The Clinton campaign blasts him and at the very same moment he is actually posting his returns on-line. Imagine doing something like that and no one even had to force his hand. So, what does her mouthpiece have to say now?

Sad to say, I was a Bill and Hillary supporter for years. I never believed some of the nasty back-biting things being said about them. However, this entire primary has proven to me that they are exactly what people have said…manipulative, scheming, insincere and shameless.

Frantz (Atlanta)   March 25th, 2008 1:42 pm ET

I still don't understand the reason why the tax returns have not yet been release. Obama has release all returns for the last 5 years. What exactly are the Clintons hiding?

Anthony Leroy   March 25th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

I am a Hillary supporter yet for the past weeks I have came to the conclusion that Obama would be suited better to be our next president. I don't feel to comfortable to entrust in someone that distort or mislead the people by lying about a simple event. Yet again that cannot release her tax return. She wants our support yet she cannot provide the people her tax return. How shamefull.

Mike K   March 25th, 2008 1:40 pm ET

I.R.S. says you have till April 15th , I guess they still have a-little time yet. I myself wouldn't want too show my tax returns . Obama campaign would just resort too more false statements. If the I.R.S. had found any thing wrong with those returns I'm sure we would have heard about it already. Hillary I wouldn't show them anything . Let them wallow in there own self righteous claims. Dear Fellow Hillary Supporters,

The more Hillary stays in the race the mainstream media will get more and more ads and money. They know this and they want this race to continue. Ultimately, this horse race will hurt all of us who are real democrats. As far as I am concerned, I thought Biden was the best choice; however, it is time for Hillary to quit as she has virtually no chance to win other than destroying the party. I am sorry but you should tell her, I beg you, that this cannot go on and on…..

Obama never said those things or wrote them. But H. Clinton said those words about sniper fire wrote them in a book and a speech. SHE LIED TO USE ABOUT THIS AND NAFTA. Do not fall for the oaky-doke Pennsylvania!!!

Yes, Senator Clinton, you need to release your taxes, and please do not insult our intelligence. The American public deserves to know how a presidential candidate makes a living. How did you afford five million dollars for your campaign? That's a large sum for a family of public servants. I'm not even looking to find something ugly in those records, but the mere fact that you do not want the public to see something is more than worrying.

Barack started this mess. Gees……….people, does this even matter? I dont particular care to see Barack's tax return, nor do I want to see Hillary's or John McCains. This is sillyness. How about all you bloggers, you wanna post your tax returns to? We can all see each others tax returns and discuss them freely.
Can I ask a simple question, what do tax returns have to do with a person competence in running the country? This stupid idea of seeing peoples tax returns is that people are desperate to find something, anything that may lead them to say STOP! Searching to find anything so that they may saw AH HA! What a joke, a failed war, a bad economy, a troubled heath care system and all people want is to see their tax returns. Priorties people, priorities! I guess getting good sounds answers and proof on the important thing (important issues), i guess that doesnt matter anymore. Maybe important issues is to old fashion. I guess now of days the way you look (gotta look presidental) and other silly irrelevant stuff like that matters more then things/issues that come down to life and death.

Obama campaign, can you please stop lying! I wonder how people don't realize that Barack lies when he says that he's bringing change into the White House. He's constantly attacking Hillary, and that's called bring change, huh?

His voting record–? Foreign Policy Experience? Change–yeah, right. Different lies, but not change. "I'm just trying to win an election here. So, that's No. 1″ He DEEPLY care about bringing change. That's the kind of change we really need. GIVE ME A BREAK!! HILLARY '08!!!

WallyWutMD   March 25th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

Notice how quickly Clinton's attacks are being batted out of the air. Obama is responding quicker than they can even finish spewing their sentence.

Carrie in Texas   March 25th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

It’s becoming clearer every day that the only reason Hillary can possibly have to stay in this race is to do everything she can to ensure that John McCain wins in the fall. Then she can run again against McCain in four years, when the electorate will finally wail “uncle” in response to TWELVE years of Bush…and she can step in as Savior….

Oh wait, she’s already cast herself as Savior, right? Since Bill Richardson is “Judas……”

Dave W.   March 25th, 2008 1:29 pm ET

What is she afraid of? She and her campaign dragged their feet in releasing the documents from her years as first lady. They then released only a fraction of them, and they were severly editted. We then find out that her claim of expeirience in foreign policy is not backed up by these documents. What does she have to hide?

gharbourne\   March 25th, 2008 1:29 pm ET

I did not have sex with that woman oops! sniper fire wow !, we have all probably told a lie or two in are days , but I can't respect anyone who once caught in it ,dosn't step up to the plate …………..weak character in my opininon………her supporters keep making excuses for her I see them on cnn all the time they don't even listen to the truth……….its like they are all brain washed …………..feel your truth AMERICA…
from a canadian.

enoch needles   March 25th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

How can Hillary release her tax returns when she can't even get to Staples to make copies because of all the sniper fire? You Obamans are so intolerant.

Crystal Mitchell   March 25th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

Senator Clinton is a phony, nothing she has said has come to any truth, and she say's what she needs to say to fool the America people. And when someone calls her on what she says or does, she dismiss it as if it doesn't matter. She starts waning, which is what it would be like if she reaches the White house, but worse. Senator Obama is a straight up guy, thinking and acting out of the box, which is what we need today. Long gone are the old ways of doing business. The biggest mistake we can make is to put all our hopes in someone that say's one thing and does another, which is Senator Clinton. How can you stand in front of a group of people on more then one occasion and tell a story, like I said a STORY like the one she told concerning the snipers and not flinch. That takes practice. To be able to LIE like that. Come on America wake up and see the story!!!!!! Where are the taxes, being manipulated, to fit what she wants us to see. If the taxes had nothing to hide she would have produce them long ago. Look at what she did with her White house papers, blunted out almost most of it to not show her inconsistency.

Derrick Martin   March 25th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

I agree with Hillary she is the most transparent figure in public life because I can see right through her and her lies and distortions.

Saska   March 25th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

This is how you handle a request for transparency: by answering it.

Not by complaining that a request for transparency is a personal attack.

joe   March 25th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

you have the nerve to criticise sen Obama for not releasing his tax returns? what a crazy campaign.

Mark   March 25th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

Hey Clinton, GET OUT OF THE RACE ALREADY! The American people don't trust you.

Paul   March 25th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

Hehehe….Clinton shot herself in the leg by actually LYING about being under sniper fire…and then LYING that she 'misspoke'…and then quickly wants to divert negative attention to Obama by hitting on his tax filings which he just did at about the same time the attack came…how interesting?

Let's face it: Hillary Clinton by touting her so called "foreign policy" credentials had made reference to this incident to shore up her resume and qualify herself as being more ready to be "Commander-in-Chief" from day one, right? Well, with what we know now, what has she done? Hillary Clinton LIED to get an advantage — that is exactly what she DID! Tell me if this is not the long and short of this whole story.

I hope people see that she covered the first lie (sniper fire) with another lie (misspoke)…are you kidding? Someone tell me what a lie means..otherwise we would soon equate every lie to a misspoke! That is, LIE = MISSPOKE; MISSPOKE = TRUTH, therefore LIE = TRUTH!

Is Hillary a mathematician??

Joe Brown   March 25th, 2008 1:25 pm ET

Liar…Shame on you.

Alex H   March 25th, 2008 1:24 pm ET

Your movie, Hillary.

Al in Dallas   March 25th, 2008 1:23 pm ET

What is Hillary hiding?

mark from NY   March 25th, 2008 1:23 pm ET

hillary does not want to release her tax returns because she knows that there is something wrong in her tax return. she also knows that she is not trustful to the american people. people, don't take billary lies, particularly in bosnia.

Seth   March 25th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

Hillary can't win – do the math! All of you Hillary supporters are hanging on to a sinking ship and bringing the party down with you. I'm not mad at you for hurting Obama, I am made at you for helping to put McCain in the White House by making Obama spar with Hillary because she refuses to do the right thing and drop out.

Hillary, DROP OUT NOW and stop killing you party.

vic nashville,Tn   March 25th, 2008 1:09 pm ET

Obama need time!!!! first he has talk to Tony Rezko because numbers has to match

Danny G. Boca Raton, FL   March 25th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

So you meant to tell me for all this time, the Obama camp kept pounding on Sen. Clinton about her Tax records, he had not made his returns available? call me crazy but that sounds hipocritical!

April   March 25th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

God Hillary's campaign is grasping at straws. I really wanted the best candidate to win, and then defeat McCain, but she is getting more and more disgusting as time goes on. Come on Hillary tell us some more lies about how you dodged enemy fire. At least that's entertaining.

sb   March 25th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

What the public doesn't seem to get is, Hillary is above all this. She doesn't need to disclose information. She doesn't need to tell the truth. She doesn't need to explain herself on any issue. She is entitled to the Presidency. All these trivial matters are just getting in her way.

2008 for Obama   March 25th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Go obama, you are really trustworthy

Alex Stone   March 25th, 2008 1:05 pm ET

I think Sen. Clinton has something to hide. She palns on coming up with another excuse before the PA primaires, then release her taxes thereafter hoping that the discuss about the sources of her income will die down before the general elections. I can tell you right now, there is a lot of money from interest groups. I wouldn't be surprised she files incorrect information then later file an amendment.

Ravi   March 25th, 2008 1:05 pm ET

Blind offense really is the best defense for the Clinton camp. I'm surprised that Sen. Clinton has decided to attack another candidate on transparency issues given her refusal to release her own tax returns.

The Clintons' idea of "transparency" involves heavy redactions (White House archives) and false accounts (Bosnia).

Truth   March 25th, 2008 1:05 pm ET

Hillary Match that!! Hillary and the republicans only argument is Rev. Wright statements. However, Hillary has lied and now unwilling to be transparent for americans.

Eki Ehizele   March 25th, 2008 1:05 pm ET

As we say in Nigeria, "Hillary, over to you".

Mike   March 25th, 2008 1:04 pm ET

lol….. i know she hates that her little attack wont work….. But Hillary can i see where that 5 million came from? I know it was a donation from one of your overseas friends

KS in TX   March 25th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

This is too funny! 20 years of tax info, all of which predates this run for presidency. Let's just see where the $5 million came from.

Connie   March 25th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Oops, Phil…wrong as always!

OBAMA '08!

Gary in Toronto   March 25th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Either there is something damaging in Clinton's still un-released tax returns or she should really fire her advisors.

My guess is that she's ducking a North Carolina debate because that would be past the point where she would have to release them and she doesn't want to take questions from the moderators on the topic.

Wayne   March 25th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Transparency improves accountability. This is part of what Obama means by change. Transparency and increased accountability of our leaders will improve government overall. Obama is the future..Hillary is the past.

HILLARY..DROP OUT NOW!!!!! You are improving McCains chances.

Gillis   March 25th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Yea. She's transparent all right. We can see right through her lies and deceit. She's not fit to be commander in chief.

Rose - Baltimore, MD   March 25th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Clinton camp should not be pointing fingers at Obama. Hillary has not released her tax returns which I believe will leave alot to be desired and we will be sorry that we even asked for them. We will be ashamed on her behalf because she has no shame at all. Now that Obama's 2006 are on his website, can hillary's now post hers too, why do we have to wait till April 15 2008 to view her 2006 tax information.

Dobalina   March 25th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

C'mon. Give her a little slack. She needs time to cover up all the shady contributions, gifts, investments, etc.

By the way, isn't Phil Singer lying? They're guarding those records from her time as First Lady. Probably need to doctor them to reflect her lies of foreign policy experience and her contributions to all the endeavors for which she claims responsibility.

carmen   March 25th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

No shame whatsoever! How can the Clinton campaign even dare to demand Sen.Obama's tax returns when the whole country has been waiting for hers for the past 9 years!!Such a double standard, they believe they are entitled to do whatever they please. America deserves much better!

North Carolina   March 25th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Can't you come up with anything better than that? Tax returns? She'll get around to it. She goes to her U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services meetings; Sen. Obama is so busy running for Pres. he can't chair his own Subcommittee on European Affairs. Somehow releasing all those tax papers ahead of Sen. Clinton seemed like a more important job. Who do you want for President???

Gary in Toronto   March 25th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Either there is something damaging in Clinton's still un-released tax returns or she should really fire her advisors.

My guess is that she's

carlo   March 25th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

You see that Hillary? It really doesn't take that long to show tax returns! And you have an accountant! Most of us have to do it ourselves, and I can pull up my tax returns faster than you.

Andy   March 25th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

What the hell is HRC hiding. HRC and Bill are still holding back on tax returns. Archieve details same.

HRC need to disclose her baggages if she seriously wants to run for the highest political office in USA.

Andy

James   March 25th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

Someone owes Sinbad an apology.

Jake, California   March 25th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

How can Hillary 'misspeak' twice on being fired at in Bosnia?

There is a big difference between being fired at and not being fired at.
If she remebered the exact date the incident happend, how can she not remeber whether she was fired at or not?

God help us please, this woman has got to go…She's really mean to the American people.

She lied about Nafta and got away with Ohio, now are Pennsylvanians willing to be equally missled?

Independent in DC   March 25th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

lol…oops

Candi South Carolina   March 25th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

Now Hillary campaign, how can you be so stupid to ask Obama for his tax returns when Hillary haven't complied to nothing except lies. head chief of staff for Hillary, clean-up, check-yourself, and clean-up around your own door before you ask someone else to do that. That is stupid, stupid to attack Obama for something your campign haven't done. You idiot needs to be fired. Hillary that is why you are so screwed up now. Idiots running your campign.

annie   March 25th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

I used to be a Hillary person but it's clear to me that she's got something to hide.

Dylan California   March 25th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

hahaha take THAT Hillary!

NOW POST YOUR TAX RETURNS! WHAT ARE YOU HIDING??

kim   March 25th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

Stay positive and continue to rise to the challange of others….millions of Americans are with you and will be extremely proud to call you Mr. President.

JJ   March 25th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

Clinton please release your returns! if there is nothing to hide please just release them and show everyone you have nothing to hide. I dont understand! Now is not the time to be secretive being that you have just been caught in a blatent lie about Bosnia.

Liz, Pittsburgh PA   March 25th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

Who cares?
It is not a requirement for politicians to release their tax returns. It would be different if it was a requirement and one was not fulfilling it. Let's talk about issues that people actually care about!!!

Sharon   March 25th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

Now we just have to wait for Hillary's excuse for not releasing her tax returns before PA. The credibility of her "experience" is already in shreds. I just hope that the MSM holds her accountable for a lack of transparency, and won't just give her a break because "everyone" expects her to lie and cheat.

Billy J Austin,TX   March 25th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

Well… glad she did it, maybe now we can have a serious debate about issues… oh wait… Obama thinks we don't need to hear anything else, unless HE gets to do all the talking, in a speech.

Veterans for Obama   March 25th, 2008 12:58 pm ET

She's transparent all right, just not in the sense she means.

Very Concerned American   March 25th, 2008 12:58 pm ET

Maybe we can examine Obama a little bit more than just his tax returns.

Check out his ties with campaign funding from Antoin Resko. Obama will deny that too.

Recently I read that he has many questions to answer about his ties with this criminal from Chicago. During a debate, Obama said he only worked a few hours for him.

Not true. Another guy that Obama didn't know about? Obama made a "boneheaded " mistake. That's a presidential answer?

Obama didn't know about his pastor now Obama did not know about Resko even though he knew him for years.

Obama's cover up of his past is getting out of control.

Iris   March 25th, 2008 12:58 pm ET

Go Obama! Let's begin to digest joy in our spirits and celebrate the soon victory for the Democrats come this fall. Hooray in advance for our party! For we will make America well again!

GOMAB6   March 25th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

News Flash…the reason for the delay in Hillary's Tax returns is because they were "MISSFILED".

Sally   March 25th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

Tax returns are personal and private and every individual has the right to keep them private, along with their medical records. For goodness' sake CNN, stop being so biased against Hillary and stop the gutter press, it's beneath the dignity and respect you used to have.

Sandy   March 25th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

I want to see her 2006 tax return. I hope the news networks will continue to press for that return. One has to wonder why it is taking her so long to release it. A copy machine is not that hard to find.

Sue   March 25th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

Thanks again CNN. Anything you can find that is anyway negative to Hillary is what you use!!! Shame on you and I really don't care what Obama does. Again this is newsworthy?

Veterans for Obama   March 25th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

He has nothing to hide.

Where are your Tax records Hillary?

matt   March 25th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

This is the next leg down for the clintons. First tax returns, then Library donors, and eventually the California case Paul vs Clinton.

Lets hope she stops dragging the rest of the party down with her….

molly   March 25th, 2008 12:56 pm ET

Clinton is an open book – she is not perfect – BUT – we do know all about the Clinton's past.
Obama is another stroy – we have recently learned some details which indicate a very questionable background – ranting, racist, anti-American pastor for the past 20 years. This is something that just will not go away – not matter how his campaign tries to spin it.
Obama will never be elected with this pastor who he will look to for advice and mentor. I have considered him in the past, but, now could never vote for him. We really need to look closer at his record – we are electing the President of the UNITED States!

Dave in Alexandria, VA   March 25th, 2008 12:56 pm ET

He's a US Senator, Michelle works an ordinary job, and he's published some books which are probably the core of their income. Overall, I wouldn't expect anything interesting. This is why nobody really cares about Obama's returns.

As for Clinton's, well, many people and organizations will pay $$$$ to stand in a room with Bill Clinton, and he has used that demand to reap in big money (some of which supported a loan to HRC's campaign). Nothing wrong with earning a lot of money, the question is where is this money coming from, and what conflicts does it create? Clintons have never scored very well on ethics…

Cory   March 25th, 2008 12:56 pm ET

No wonder the Jr. Senator from New York doesn't want her tax records released. After the latest flap with her "experience" claims being blown way out of proportion, she doesn't want to have any other missteps.

And on the subject of missteps, maybe I lead a very ordinary and uninteresting life, but I'm sure if I flew into a warzone and had to run under the cover of the military through a cross-fire of enemy snipers, that's not something I would "misspeak" about, as certainly I know it's not something I would soon forget. I know the meaning of embellishment, and I think her comments are overqualified for that word.

Chad   March 25th, 2008 12:55 pm ET

do me a favor…

google… "paul vs clinton".

Enough said!

fred   March 25th, 2008 12:55 pm ET

Funny, this is about Obama releasing his tax returns and all you can do at CNN is talk about Hillary's!!!

G.B.S   March 25th, 2008 12:53 pm ET

good move by both candidate

Jerry Tsai   March 25th, 2008 12:53 pm ET

The media needs to make sure that everybody understands that Clinton is not releasing tax returns of the last 7 years that ALREADY HAVE BEEN FILED!!!

All you need is a photocopier and half an hour! Hil- LIAR -y Clinton, stop dodging the truth and spinning lies!

Jaroslav   March 25th, 2008 12:53 pm ET

This is not surprise I guess because everybody knows what HRC is about.
I just hope people don't leave media to distract them by faulty accusation of Barack Obama and stop HRC lying machine before it is too late and she steels the nomination.

Mike   March 25th, 2008 12:53 pm ET

It is a constant series of attacks from Obama to distract everyone from the Rev. Wright issue and the grandmother issue.

The reality is that Obama is racist and used his own family and pastor for his political career.

Obama is done.

Brandy   March 25th, 2008 12:53 pm ET

Where is all the nasty comments and reckless talking now?

These people are so stupid. How do you send out press releases complaining about something that has already been done? Whomever that spokesperson was that sent out those releases, needs to be fired for pure and utter stupidity.

This is so typical, put out good sound information for Obama and nothing.

Put out a 30 second sound byte on a pieced together sermon, and you get 20,000 posts responding and bashing under the guise that they love America and are "good GOD fearing Christians" while calling this man everything but a child of GOD.

Priceless

Desiree   March 25th, 2008 12:52 pm ET

Hillary Supporters: You know hillary can't win. You know Hillary is dishonest. Why can't you see it? Do you want that kind of person as a President?

I was someone who is honest and someone who does not cover up. The whole Wright issue is not even Obama's issue. Think of the country people.

OBAMA 08!

Reginal Smith   March 25th, 2008 12:48 pm ET

I think it is becoming pretty clear to the American people that Hillary can not be trusted. She has misspoken about her encounter in Bosnia blasted Obama for not releasing tax returns to turn attention away from her failure to release her own tax return. She can not even meet a simple deadline as releasing her tax return and remembering what happened during a so called hostile situation. How can she be trusted to run a country and protect Americans from enemies? Hillary as president is a scary thought. In addition she is ruining the democratic party with all the games she is playing. It is obvious Hillary is more concerned about her self ambition to be president then the welfare of the american people.

Please consider this my request Hillary for you to step down so we can deal with todays important american issue and not your personal issues.

Iamwmd   March 25th, 2008 12:48 pm ET

I wonder will she white out all the meaningful data like she did with her whitehouse schedule?

….I smell Clinton games…a Reporter NEEDS to ask…WHICH RETURNS, Mrs. Clinton, are you releasing 2006 OR 2007?

She's up to something….

Mark, Berwyn PA   March 25th, 2008 12:47 pm ET

Oops, more egg on your face Queen Hillary. Release your tax returns already!!!!

Clean ! Always a step ahead!

So, Hillary Clinton – show us where you suddenly after 2000 got the millions and millions of dollars from … $5Mio of which you put into your campaign. Who gave this money to you ? THAT MATTERS !

jane   March 25th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

Why is Hillary's not releasing her tax returns?.She must have some thing that she is hidding that she does not want the public to see.
Hillary is high time you show us how much money you send with our tax enjoying youself and also how much money that you have put in your account. The best thing is for you to drop out of this race because we don't want you to use our tax money to put in your account.

Crispus   March 25th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

I know keep saying this…so
HC will destroy this party to get the nod. She can only motivate her people only by getting them to hate the other guy. Her campaign almost "flamed out" and she had to loan herself 5 mil. to keep it going. She might as well be Mitt Romney…at least he did the right thing and got out of the race when it was time. Also, I wonder why would Yucaipa give Bill 20 mil?

Darth Vadik, CA   March 25th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

Let me see:

Hillary said she was for the SCHIP program, now it turns out the Clintons were opposed to it.

Hillary said she was against NAFTA, now it turns out she was for it so much that she briefed 100 most prominant business women on it and its benefits.

Hillary said she went to Bosnia under sniper fire, now it comes out that the hardest thing they had to do over there was get a nice resaturant.

…but let me guess, Obama is the liar?

The nerve of some people.

kyle   March 25th, 2008 12:44 pm ET

ha! Great timing! Thank you for your honesty, Barack Obama. You will have my vote in November.

Scott C   March 25th, 2008 12:44 pm ET

HAHAHA!!!

The only thing she could think to do to deflect the fact that she wont release her tax returns was that Obama wasn't either.

Now he has released them all and his schedule, something the Clinton campaign had to be sued into releasing.

He is openly giving all this information, so far she has only released one thing and only because she HAD to because of a lawsuit.

Watch her and all the delusional Clinton supporters come back and cite Rev. Wright now.

Just release the papers Clinton.

Peggy S   March 25th, 2008 12:44 pm ET

Hillary is NOT trustworthy.

White, Female Boomer for Obama   March 25th, 2008 12:43 pm ET

The world is watching and the Clintons' reputations are being ridiculed and torn to shreds.

This woman does not have the integrity needed in a leader. Now she wants to "win" by arm twisting pledged delegates after pretending to care about Florida and Michigan??

Hillary demanding Obama's tax returns be released is a joke. Does anyone here actually believe that Hillary's tax returns are going to be clean of corruption or shady deals? Spring is appearently Silly Season in Hillary World

Tom   March 25th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

All the way back to 2000? Wow – didn't think he'd been an adult for that long………oh wait……maybe that's his supporters………Sooo……how much did he give to his church????

Keith   March 25th, 2008 12:41 pm ET

The only thing transparent about Hillary Clinton is her willingness to distort, distract, delay and decieve to Win what she believes to be her right.
Take note – Hillary's tax returns are not public record only that information required by the Senate is. This information does not reflect all sources of income nor even total income.

Just watch we will not see the records being discussed before the PA primary…this is Clinton basics…distort, distract, delay and decieve.

She has the least INTEGRITY of any canidate that has run for the White house this year…we can not afford to have an individual of her character in the White House.

Tim   March 25th, 2008 12:41 pm ET

Wow, talk about transparency!!! Way to go Senator Obama. Your move Senator Clinton.

Deb   March 25th, 2008 12:41 pm ET

Obama is no longer a viable candidate.

I'm sure if we look hard at the return we'll see the proof behind some of his very public lies!

We want to hear about Hillary's solutions for America!

No more Hate, No more Obama!

DKaylan   March 25th, 2008 12:41 pm ET

Way to go, Obama! We keep seeing how he's continuing to keep to his messages of change, hope and unity, stating where he stands in issues important to Americans, staying honest and transparent, while Hillary seems to be imploding as her campaign (and those supporting and advising her) becomes more and more negative, revolving around deception (aka negative spin), non-transparency, desperation, and "misstatements" giving credence to what everyone is saying about the Clintons doing whatever it takes to win the nomination.

bigben   March 25th, 2008 12:40 pm ET

More cheese with your whine? Obama

April in Texas   March 25th, 2008 12:40 pm ET

Ok now what are you hiding or covering up in your delays of releasing your tax returns Hillary Clinton? I can hear it now when she does release her tax returns it will be its a typo or something when something shows up.. I applaud Obama for being transparent and not embelishihing or padding his resume.

Obama 08

Jeremy   March 25th, 2008 12:40 pm ET

HILLARY CLINTON WHERE ARE YOUR TAX RETURNS? IT DOES NOT TAKE THIS LONG> YOU ARE VERY WEALTHY AND HAVE RESOURCES TO PREPARE YOUR TAXES.

THE ONLY REASON YOU MAY BE TAKING SO LONG IS BECAUSE YOUR ACCOUNTANTS ARE TRYING TO HIDE SOMETHING SO YOU ARE BUYING TIME.

WHERE ARE YOUR TAXES?

Considering Obama   March 25th, 2008 12:39 pm ET

Dear Hillary,

I am your supporter but I finding it difficult continue to defend you when you are not helping me out here. Can you please release your 2006 tax returns? So I and other supporters can push back against Obama supporters. Show them you have nothing to hide. If you don't I have to think otherwise.

Jimmy Alderson in Atlanta   March 25th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

Wow Hillary, calling the Kettle Black are we? So you don't release your tax records yet and you berate Barack for not releasing his?

Well as you can see your kitchen sink must be running low because he did release them, AT THE SAME MOMENT you were criticizing him.

You see, Hillary, you are nothing more than a Necon. You act like one, you campaign like one, and you seem to mis-remember the true facts about being shot at like one.

Today I saw a USA Today paper that said the dream ticket was more than wishful thinking. Well I for one will not vote for any ticket that has you on it.

OBAMA 08

Edward M. Magee   March 25th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

Mrs clinton will find another reason to withhold showing her tax returns, after the April 15th deadline, as promised.

Edward   March 25th, 2008 12:37 pm ET

It's your turn HRC…show us the real HRC

kizzi   March 25th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

nice move obama.let's see what the Clinton's are hiding

Linda   March 25th, 2008 12:35 pm ET

Obama WALKS THE WALK!

He released his Earmarks FIRST, then challenged Hillary to do the same. She has NOT met his challenge.

He released his taxes FIRST, then challenged Hillary to do the same. She has NOT met his challenge.

The only challenge of his that she has met was releasing the White House papers which, unfortunately for her, only show how much she lied about all the "foreign policy experience" she's been claiming.

Her unrelenting secrecy is exactly why she rates highest as being most UNtrustworthy (well that, plus all her lying….)

VOTER FOR TRUTH, DIGNITY-OBAMA/EDWARDS 2008   March 25th, 2008 12:35 pm ET

Just goes to show you. Obama does all he can to be UPFRONT with
the American People. Hillary, "misspoke" can be added to the Webster
Dictionary because Hillary uses that word, which is not a word everyday. Hillary's "mispoke' means lie. I can't wait til she releases
her Tax Returns. I don't think she will. They are not done yet excuse.

Reality check #1   March 25th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

Who really gives a crap about either one of their tax returns? I would much rather have health care than to hear about taxes, I have my own to worry about, that's enough of a worry for anyone.

S. Williams   March 25th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

Obama 08′!!

My man, always one step ahead of you Clintonistas….

YES WE CAN

Dawn   March 25th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

OK Hillary, let's see:

1. tax returns
2. earmark requests
3. presidential library donors

Sam   March 25th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

Prior to posting these returns on his website Obama had disclosed them 100% to reporters years ago.

As always, the Clinton campaign is having a bit bit of a problem with truthiness.

Vince - Phoenix   March 25th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

Hillary….. YOUR move…..

Ross in MD   March 25th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

HA! The Clinton camp is always a step behind Obama.

By the way, how is it that they can criticize Obama for not releasing his tax returns when they haven't released anything since 2000? How about that donor list to the Clinton library? Their hypocrisy is laughable!

Jim F   March 25th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

This just continues the central theme of Hillary's campaign – "Too little, too late." WHERE ARE YOUR TAX RETURNS, LADY? Perhaps she "misspoke" when she said she'd release them soon…

Naeem   March 25th, 2008 12:33 pm ET

CHECKMATE

Jazz   March 25th, 2008 12:33 pm ET

Wonderful. Only 14 more years to go. We care more about what will be done with the taxes we pay. Back to the issues please.

Angelo   March 25th, 2008 12:32 pm ET

When Hillary campaigned for her senate job she hounded her opponent Lazio. Even back then she had Howard Wolfson do some of the hounding.

Funny that back then Hillary found it “frankly disturbing” that Lazio doesn’t show his tax returns. Hillary’s camp would often have someone dressed in Uncle Sam outfit at Lazio’s public campaigns in order to pressure him and make him look bad and non-transparent.
Back then Hillary just showed the public her returns on her New York stay which was very minimal. That’s all she showed.

Wow!!! Double standards Hillary!!!

William - Virginia   March 25th, 2008 12:32 pm ET

All candidates should release their tax returns. However, all remaining candidates should be delineating their stances at the same time. This is beginning to seem like a very lame primary between the democratic candidates, very much off the issues that would hopefully reveal differentiation with John McCain.

Andre S   March 25th, 2008 12:32 pm ET

What's Hillary's excuse now. Her inability to be transparent and truthful should show the American people that this woman is not suited to lead this counrty. Remember it was a series of lies that began this very costly and meaningless war. This is not about race, gender, or sexisim. This is about a candidate that will unite and be willing to confront the truth, as he did over the Wright incident. That's what we need now in a leader. We simply can't trust Hillary.

Darth Vadik, CA   March 25th, 2008 12:32 pm ET

…and why do I have this feeling that Hillary is a female version of Cheney?

Jake, California   March 25th, 2008 12:31 pm ET

Clinton camp is a COPY CAT! They were not interested in releasing documents to the public until Obama called for that, now they are hopelessly attacking him to release documents even at the VERY moment when he's releasing his documents.

Didn't I say the Hillary people are not smart at all?

While Obama is taking a break, they are out there looking for low blow, meaningless attacks.

I am sure she and her cheerleaders are out there this morning trying to get some WEIRD photos or videos of Obama from his vacation on St Thomas Island so they can say he went to meet with Al Qaeda!

DROP OUT Hillary you heard the Obama girl!

Ifeanyi Azubike Houston Texas   March 25th, 2008 12:31 pm ET

How will their tax returns lower the price of gas? How will it lower the cost of milk? The press is setting the wrong agenda for the campaigns by consistently galvitating towards mundane personal issues to the exclussion of what really matters.

Darth Vadik, CA   March 25th, 2008 12:31 pm ET

Hillary's as transparent as a lead (Pb) safe.
Not even Supermans X-ray vision could see thru it.

Concerned Voter   March 25th, 2008 12:31 pm ET

That is hilarious! I think that shows that Obama is always one step ahead of Hilary!

Proud of the Obama Camp today!

hmmm looks like egg on their face; Hill camp

Stand Strong America!   March 25th, 2008 12:30 pm ET

how much for the flip flops and Obama Girl were reported.
better yet… HOW MUCH DID HE GIVE TO WRIGHT AND THE CHURCH!!!!!!

loser!

Heidi   March 25th, 2008 12:30 pm ET

HILLARY YOU CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE. HE IS STAYING ONE STEP AHEAD OF YOU IN EVERY WAY. AS A WOMEN WHO IS A MANAGER AT HER JOB AND HAVE MANY PEOPLE WHO WORK FOR ME, YOU INSULT ME AS A WOMEN.

TAKE YOUR FRIEND AND YES HE STILL IS YOUR FRIEND GOV BILL RICHARDSON ADVISE, GET OUT OF THE RACE WHILE YOU STILL CAN SAVE FACE.

Sophia   March 25th, 2008 12:30 pm ET

What will you come up with next Hillary?

CC   March 25th, 2008 12:29 pm ET

I take it that the Clinton campaign missed the release because it seems that they are at issue with Barack putting all his paperwork on the camaine web site while she has'nt.

Now they look stupid.

Joe   March 25th, 2008 12:29 pm ET

Why can't Senator Clinton release her tax returns until just before the Pennsylvania primary? Is she filling out the forms herself? I doubt that. It looks like she's got something to hide.

Let's hope we don't fall for that again. In Ohio, she misled people on NAFTA and not she hopes that the fact that she and the former President have received millions of dollars from special interests will hit too late in the campaign.

Enough is enough. If you're truly ready on Day 1 … release your tax returns now!

TheLeftNut   March 25th, 2008 12:29 pm ET

Wake me up when it really matters.

If Dems loose in lose in November, it will be the fault of the "Clinton never Obama" and "Obama never Clinton" people.

SHAME ON YOU! You're no better then Limbaugh Lemmings.

Rick in Florida   March 25th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

I HOPE TAX EXPERTS WILL PORE OVER HILLARY'S RETURNS, WHENEVER SHE DECIDES TO FINALLY GRACE US WITH THEM, AND LOOK INTO BILL'S MILLIONS FROM DUBAI, MEXICO AND KAZAKHSTAN , AND ALL THE HIDDEN-DONORS TO CLINTON'S LIBRARY…….AND SEE HOW THE FUNDS HAVE BEEN USED FOR HILLARY'S BENEFIT. LET'S ADD 'TAX EVASION' AND 'IMPROPER CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS (again) TO THEIR LIST OF HIGH-CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS!!!!

Chido Williams   March 25th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

Thats a fact-what is she afraid of. She wants the voters to vote for her and then release the tax returns after -very calculating. She thinks she can outsmart everybody -Not anymore If she was not put under pressure for her schedule, nobody would have known the lies which she calls "misspoke" were all about. Enough of the Clintons.

Kelly, VA   March 25th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

How in the WORLD does somene from the Clinton campaign have ANY room to talk?? She was the one who has yet to release her 2006 returns….how funny that Obama never requires asking to provide his returns…this serving as additional proof, since they were posted likely before he knew about Clinton's memo. I still wonder what is lurking in Clinton's papers….

OBAMA '08

Justin from West Haven, CT   March 25th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

Clinton has all her money in the Caymans, we aren't going to see her cash.

HP Boston   March 25th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

Justin from West Haven, CT   March 25th, 2008 12:27 pm ET

Clinton- 20 million, wonder where that came from.

Tom Swift, Shopton   March 25th, 2008 12:27 pm ET

Hillary needs to stop stalling & release her Tax returns NOW. Exactly where did the $5,000,000 she gave… er, I mean "loaned"… her campaign come from?

Gore/Obama '08

NC Primary MY TURN!   March 25th, 2008 12:27 pm ET

the fighting has to stop!

carrie   March 25th, 2008 12:27 pm ET

americans will be stupid if they dont elect a president as transparent as obama.hillary took all year to release her tax returns and lies about being under sniper fire, while videos show her walking calmly with her daughter.
her husband is a liar(i did not have sex with that woman) and she obviously is.
at this rate i would rather see mccain as president than hillary.
hillary has single handedly destroyed niot only the democratic party, but america as well.i cant imagine what she would do to the world, this goes to proove that if you cant take are of your home,u cant do anything.applies to billary

Nina Bathy   March 25th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

Well, there it is Hillary! Now it's your turn. Or are you afraid more skeletons will be coming out of your closet as fast as the lies that keep spilling out of your mouth! Just quit already before you get fired for lying on your resume!

Do the right thing08/Obama08

Jeff   March 25th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

it must suck to be 3 steps behind obama all the time…i wish i had millions of dollars to blow on a campaign that was done a month ago

suzy   March 25th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

I wish Obama would post his EXPERIENCE, especially on foreign policy which he and media continue to blast Hillary on – and no one seems to EVER ask him what his experience is??? Why – do we really not care???
free ride once again – amazing.

D Taliga   March 25th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

Why she dident relese her tax return befor the Elaction In Texas and Ohaio? she live from lobbyist and corruption they finance her,and she will serve them.

DGH   March 25th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

Just stop! Hillary has had far more years in public life than Barack and so she's naturally going to have far more to scrutinize. When Barack has her years of experience and public service let's look at his records.

Hillary deserves to be President. Barack has not earned that privilege.

Them Dems   March 25th, 2008 12:25 pm ET

LOL. Hillary got owned on this one!

And HOW ON EARTH do u try to criticize someone else when they r hiding HER tax returns!

Again, she needs to fire her staff asap…

CW in DC   March 25th, 2008 12:25 pm ET

And how do you like THEM apples?!?!

He released 5 years of tax returns instantly. Let's see Clinton top this one…..LMAO!!!!

I'm taking all bets her tax returns won't get released!!!

And for those who will say what relevance is this – don't you want to know if your potential candidate for presidency is in somebody's pocket and owes them favors?

Realistic   March 25th, 2008 12:25 pm ET

The dirty politics of the Clinton campaign continue unabated, thus reminding America that a second Clinton presidency will simply be MORE OF THE SAME infighting of the Bush-Clinton-Bush cycle.

Obama doesn't care about voters   March 25th, 2008 12:25 pm ET

Obama's campaign are major Scammers… they need to bow out now. They're attacking cause they know that she's going to win.

LOSERS

Zia   March 25th, 2008 12:25 pm ET

Clinton says she 'misspoke' about sniper fire.

More like lied about it. How can anyone forget whether or not they were shot at. Liar. Like husband like wife… only worse.

michael, ny   March 25th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

Hillary said: "the first time in 12 years or so, I misspoke".

Does anybody have another video of Hillary saying "I misspoke" in the last 12 years?

That will make a great story.

But again, she will say I misspoke on mispeaking.

NIckNas   March 25th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

Your Serve Hillary!!!

My NEW Favorite Saying;

TO SAY THAT HILLARY HAS PRESIDENTAL EXPERIENCE IS LIKE SAYING THAT YOKO ONO WAS A BEATLE………….

Obama supporter   March 25th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

It is so nice to have a transparent candidate :)

Steve Ca, USA   March 25th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

Well Mrs. Clinton where's the beef?

Mary   March 25th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

Everyone knows it takes time to make up a second set of records to release to the public.

She doesn't want anyone to see the real ones.

If she didn't have anything to hide, they would have been released by now.

I just don't trust her all.

yokel   March 25th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

ABOUT TIME!!! How long has he been hiding this from the AMERICAN PEOPLE!!!

Ron, TX   March 25th, 2008 12:20 pm ET

Obama is awesome.

Obama releases same call for tax returns they've been saying for weeks, at the same time releases Obama's tax returns, and Clinton spokesman goes into the same old tired tirade against Obama that "he hasn't either!"

Well, now he has! Show us the dirt, Singer!
