While I know some Obama supporters feel like Hillary is devisive, this I hope will help somewhat to diminish that notion. I am glad to see Hillary speak what I have felt all along. It is not in the democrats best interest to support McCain regardless of which one of them secures the nomination. While I do have a preference as to who should win, I will support either one because it is the best decision to get out of the Bush scenario for a 3rd term, which is what McCain is. Bravo Hillary! BTW I am sick of all the bickering about who is better on both sides. It is a hard fought fight and it should be. All states and people need to have their chance to vote. Asking either person to quit is just not the way it should be done. Let it be over when it's over and quit asking either one to concede. Lets face it, the Republicans did not have 2 great candidates to choose from and that is why you don't see this happening on their side. I am confident in saying if it did you would see just as much of a struggle between them.

With such a close race- remember neither of them will reach the number of delegates they will need- both need to stay in and hear the voices of the remaining states and primaries. Lets see what the rest of the country thinks.

I am glad that she is finally saying that she doesn't actually want her followers to switch parties. With the way she's been talking about her opponents, I would have given about 50/50 odds that Obama was going to have to run against a McCain/Clinton ticket.

TBH, I still have a lot of doubts about her commitment to the Democratic party, and about the character of someone who is willing to do that to their party.

This may cause her to lose a few of her supporters: they want to hear that it is okay to approve of McCain more so than Obama, because spite is more fun than reason.

Of course, she may gain a few Obama supporters since she is, for once, seemingly giving a crap about peace in the democratic party.

Not me, of course, for a simple reason: A transparent government is the most important thing in the history of american politics, as far as i'm concerned; and Obama seems to be the only person who wants to give that a shot.

With all her trashy rhetoric, she's basically jeopardized the Democrats chance of winning the 2008 general election by fractioning the Democratic party. It really perplexes me that some or many Clinton supporters would even consider voting for a man who would sincerely purposed a "100 year war" in support of this "war on terror". We won't know how much damage she's done until the 2008 general election. It wasn't up until Hillary's negative campaign bullcrap that polls showed Obama trailing McSame McCain in the polls for the 2008 election.

In 1994, Hillary Clinton, and alter ego Bill, failed at presidential leadership by alienating important players in the health care reform initiative.

That same year, as a direct result of alienating the electorate, Republicans took over Congress, initiating the "Republican Revolution" and years of nasty partisanship.

She has always been described as "polarizing", even before the campaign. Now she has managed to polarize members of her own party.

What's really troubling here is that her credibility is gone. It's actually hard to believe her when she says she wants to unify the party, in the face of such strong evidence that she wanted to divide it.

I hate Clinton, but at the same time, I'm very glad / relieved to hear her say this, and I hope her supporters take it to heart when Obama captures the nomination.

There has been speculation that she has tried to sabotage the Democratic chances this election so as to build herself an "I told you so" campaign platform for '12. This new statement does not completely eradicate those suspicions, but, it is a step in the right direction.

Whether or not she offers this merely as an attempt to improve her plummeting approval rating, makes no difference to me, as long as she means it and will act accordingly once she loses the nomination, and as long as her Clintonistas listen to what she's said here and do indeed close party ranks and never, -ever- let another Bush/McCain into the White House.

I am an avid Obama supporter, but this makes my respect for Hillary Clinton jump it is great that she is putting up a fight while placing a seed in her supporters that even if she isn't the one that gets nominated thats no reason to abandon the hopes and dreams of the democratic party that both candidates hold in such high regard. I will support Obama til the end if he gets the nomination or not, but no matter who the Democratic candidate is I'm going to be perfectly happy with them.
