And hopefully he won't endorse Hillary.

If only Gore could've won 8 years ago, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now. Obama has virtually NO EXPERIENCE whatsoever. He even said when he was on vacation last week that he "wants to be left alone". I'm sorry, but if you're the PRESIDENT, you can never be left alone, ever!!

Step back, Obama, or you'll let McCain win the presidency. I know for sure I'll have no problem voting for McCain if Obama wins the nomination.

I see lots of people giving up on Obama because of the Wright Scandal and what his wife said.

People have to realize that the america rich white people know and the america that non rich whies and blacks no is very different. It is easy to say that only people who 100% agree with the rich white ways and never been oppressed or cheated love america.

I love America too. but in a different way. I am sure that Mrs. Obama feels the same. I love the people I see everyday. I do not love our government or corporate powers. This governemt tries to say we have Freedom. Well, we dont have rights with that freedom. No right to health care, no right to fair treatment. This country works for the corporations, for foreign countries, and the richest people. IT doesnt not work for the everyday tax payign person. Mrs. Obama obviously loves the country. Nobody in their right mind would but their lives aside for a country that they dont care for. People are upset about the Wright scandal and the quote of Mrs. Obama because they are based on truth. And the truth hurts.

Obama faces these truths and hopes to change them. Make us better. It is sad that we can spend trillions of dollars on another country and tell ourselves there isnt enough money to make us healthier or safer or lead better lives.

Just because Obama and those close to him arent blind to the fact that this couontry is screwed up, doesnt make them any less patriotic than those who skip over the harsh truths and focus on iraq and sugar coat what we really need to face. It makes them more patriotic, to me, that he is willing to bring these things front and center and challenge all of us to make this country work for the citizens. ALL Citizens.

HOLY COW!

Wouldn't that be poetic justice for someone who was robbed of a bona-fide election only to be handed the nomination again when he wasn't running!

What an absolute October surprise that would be...that kind of surprise would be followed by cheering, a few heart attacks and a general moistening of the atmosphere as the collective jaws of millions hit the floor with tongues wagging!

I have seen enough - I am convinced after watching the House of Reps this last year and now watching this Dem primary that the Democrats cannot manage kool-aid stand.
McCain looks remarkabley solid compared to this carnival.

Just watched President Bush's news conference with Australian Prime Minister on CNN News.

The CNN White House News Reporter reporting back to CNN referred to both Nations leaders as Mr.? What the hell is this about CNN? Why are our National Leaders not being respected with leader ship titles?

This is equivalent to letting children refer to their parents by their first names and it is dumb. Stop it please!

Sorry of this is OT on this blog. Could not find any way to respond to CNN News directly.

Boy is it funny how everyone is so patriotic (as oppose to saying how unamerican Obama is). Eveyone here seems ready to over turn the will of the people to install their candidate. Obama did not make these rules--he wasn't on the political seen but the Clinton's were. It is the Clintons who made up a lot of these rules and now they are getting caught in their own net. As for Gore, why didn't Gore and Hillary run together in 2004? Because she will never be VP to Gore and Gore will never be VP to her. As for Barack I actually think he could be more powerful NOT being the President. He actually will have more clout working behind the scenes, like being a power broker. If he has this much polish to run against the CLINTON MACHINE now and people way he's not ready. Just imagine him when he is ready? We all know thhat Washington DC is dead NO ONE can get anything going there anymore. The good people are leaving and I actually think it will polluite Barack's chances of being a really good President as an INDEPENDENT. This election just may be the beginning of the end for DEMS AND REPS. A third party will emerge soon called INDEPENDENTS, WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!!!

While Gores comments are appreciated, this is a close race. I can understand neither side wants to back down at this point. If Obama wants to play by the rules set, the super delegates may decide this election and he will need to respect that. Otherwise, we are changing rules midcourse which is exactly what he is opposed to with Michigan and Florida.

Mr. Gore is no longer a member of the official body politic he should not be viewed as a political leader. His senior status in retirement counts for little.
It is too late for Al to just come in and take it. Pelosi has not achieved what she wanted in the house, but is showing her metal as Dems convention chair. She and other heavy weights are pushing for unity and not a battle at the convention. The Clintons would take this to the convention, destroy the Dems and would not win against Mccain. HRC claims experience, NOT! Pelosi has the experience with this and will do well. Also look for Fl. and Mich. to be seated, delegates however may not be as they are today, 50% or percentage as the canidates have earned.

It looks like Gore might see his time come. Obama is a flat tire and can never win the general election, Hillary has been hurt by the news media's insane negative campaign against her. These two have showed why Dean has no leadership and Gore is waiting in the wings. Why does hte democratic candidate have to be chosen now is my concern. The news media has been disgusting in covering this election. It would be great for the news media to report the news instead of creating news - "yellow journalism". Now there is a novel idea, reporting the news without the spin.

When Bill Clinton was on the ticket, I knew he would make a good President. He turned out to be one of the best as far as the country is concerned.I couldn't belive Bush, the son, won the election. (I still think it was fixed). Look at the mess he got America into. This time around,if Hillary cannot win the nomination, let Gore be on the ticket. America cannot afford Obama, or McCain to be President.

Gore is NOT the answer.........please! We're in the position we're in because there are 2 strong "other" candidates. If I had to rank them I'd still put Obama at the top at Clinton at the bottom. Gore is somewhere in between. I don't think he or Hillary Clinton could beat McCain, plus our country really NEEDS someone as outstanding as Barack Obama. Another chance like this will not come for years!

We're also in this position because Clinton will not back down like the other candidates have done. She is the Mike Huckabee of the Democratic Party, only she had put more negative spins on the process than any candidate ever has. She'd be long gone by now if she were anyone else.......no, she is not entitled to the presidency.

I wish she would just back down. Ego and narcissism!

Mr. Gore is correct in his claim that the process will work itself out. It isn't going to be pretty, but as long as both candidates are mathematically alive then you cannot cancel the rest of the primaries. Maybe everyone will realize that we need to modify this system extensively before 2012 to a regionalized primary that covers the nation in the span of 2 -3 months and finishes in early April. Mr. Gore should point out what a vast and unnecessary "carbon footprint" this campaign cycle has left to date.

Will one of the Obama haters please tell us exactly what it is they hate so much about him? And please don't claim that it has something to do with "attacks he has made on Hillary", because he really hasn't made any himself. There have been a few swipes from his supporters or staffers, but there have been plenty from HIllary's as well. Hillary herself has attacked Obama- Here's an example: A few weeks ago, a story came out about a comment made by an ex-aide, saying something to the effect that Obama would not follow any specific plan that he or anyone had right now if he were to become president in 2009. Instead, he would need to consult with the generals on the ground, appraise the situation when the time came in 2009, and then make decisions based on the cuurent situation at that time. For what it is worth, Hillary has said that she plans to do the same thing. But the Clinton campaign decided to spin the story, and Hillary herself came out and said that "... in fact, now we find out that Senator Obama has no plan." Talk about spin, half truth, and taking something out of context...

I do not think that Mr Gore is interested in the job. He is doing just fine with his work on environmental issues. He can accomplish more in that role. And I believe it is important. Global Warming is a reality that nobody else wants to talk about. It is a planet wide issue.

This is a democracy. Let the people vote. If it goes until the convention, fine. But that's the system. We Democrats then get behind whatever candidate. But I did not vote for Gore. Having him shoved down my throat would be against everything I thought the party stood for.

Ok, Gore is being sensible by saying it will work itself ot and that we have time. However, all these people getting excited about Gore at the top of the ticket are just as bad as those that would just prefer to coronate Obama now. Where will democracy have gone if the behind the scenes guys simply appoint someone no one voted for? Does no one see the hypocrisy in this after all the thrashing and attacking of the Clinton campaign for what is really only clarifying the true reason we have superdelegates?

This campaign has gotten ridiculous, and contrary to what popular opinion may be, I strongly believe that it is the fault of the DNC, these silly superdelegate endorsements that make things more confusing, and dirty politics of the Obama campaign. Yes you read that correctly. I don't think Clinton has played half as dirty as she really has the right to to win this thing.

THIS is the Democratic leadership? Jeez, we might as well sign up for 4 more years of Bush. Leaders take a stand when the going gets tough. They don't sit back and wait for the opportune time to benefit from a mess. Al Gore just lost my respect and will not get my vote if he is on top of the Democratic ticket.

I am registered democrat. I do not like Obama.
I am honest in stating my feeling. I feel Obama is worst than President Bush. Now Obama supporters will say I am not real democrat. I do not mind, but I cannot vote for Obama in any case. There are many people around me, who have same feeling. By the way, I am very educated and having very successful career. I have read books from both Hillary and Obama.
The negative feeling might have come because of
1. Immature, insincere and arrogant behavior of Obama
2. Liberal media’s pro-Obama bais, which is trying to push Obama. Media is trying to sell a quarter as a dollar (thinking people are stupid)

CNN Moderators, please post this one.

I have always thought Al Gore to be among the brightest and most sane of those in the Dem Party, I do not think he wants to be the President after all the B.S. he went through. However I am hoping that as he was the Vice President under Bill Clinton and that the Clintons have always spoke so highly of him and how they endorse all his ideas that he will also be for Hillary. He is much too smart to outright endorse anyone and I hope he just keeps on being the way he is.

The Democrats are finished, all because an idiot "Black man"

is sick with power…..

How could this message be approved by a CNN moderator?

We have a once in a lifetime chance to have a great leader, but the media is wrapped up with personal stories rather than issues. Unfortunately, this has real consequence as voters comments clearly reflect the intense emotion arising from lopsided stories.

sparraguslover,

what you’ve just wrote is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point were you even close to anything that can be considered a rational thought. Every one in this blog is now dumber for having read it.

Yes, please introduce the idea of Al Gore getting on the ticket! Then we can make global warming the centerpiece of the general election. With an issue like this, which EVERYONE cares about, nobody will get caught up in the war, taxes, healthcare, social security, or anything else. Gore can unite the Democrat party and bring them to a swift loss in the general election!

The Gore fans have lost their minds. He's not going to be the nominee and he's not going to be VP... again. We all think Gore is a great guy, but please give it a rest.

I'm not at all surprised to have an idiot Hillary Dem Rep from Florida to make such a stupid suggestion. Obama doesn't have to compromise. The leader in delegates gets the nomination period.

I'm not surprised why Florida is always a mess when it comes to voting with idiots like Mahoney in charge.

I think the process should play all the way out. Obama will sweep the last 5 states and the Hillary camp will have to continue to buy delegates because that momentum argument won't stand a chance.

Even the mayor of the state she represents is going with Obama

If anybody should bow out it should be Obama. He has the least chance of wining in the general election, becasue he did not win any of the big blue states in the primary. The red states are not going for him in the general. To think that the blue states that voted for Hillary Clinton are just going to vote for Obama because he is a democrat is wrong. I know many, many people who are not going to vote for him if he gets the nomination, and these are die hard democrats. Some are going to write in Clinton's name, others are going to vote for McCain. If the DNC thinks the 30% of Hillary supporters that said they will not vote for Obama no matter what, are just blowing smoke, they are in for a big suprize if they hand this nomination to him. We have big problems with him getting the nomination when Flordia and Michigan that went for Hillary are not included. The whole racist church thing has lost alot of white supporters too. You will see in Pennsylvannia, how his support has declined!

Am I missing something here? Am I in a "twilight zone." Isn't the USA a democracy? How can we choose a candidate out of thin air and ignore the people who have worked and voted for candidates of our choice?
