Sen. Clinton told her travelling press corps about her love for the Rolling Stones while aboard her plane Sunday.
Sen. Clinton told her travelling press corps about her love for the Rolling Stones while aboard her plane Sunday.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Call her a Honky Tonk Woman: Hillary Rodham Clinton is a big fan of the Rolling Stones.

Speaking to reporters aboard her campaign plane Sunday morning, the Democratic presidential contender said she was eager to see "Shine a Light," the new documentary about the legendary rock band that was directed by Martin Scorsese and opens Friday.

Clinton said she attended her first Stones show as a high school senior in 1965, and has been a few times since. She praised Mick Jagger, the band's 64-year-old lead singer, and said she admired his work ethic.

"If you go to a Stones concert today and I have been, it's just amazing," Clinton said. "He has this incredible presence. He is very disciplined, he works out, and he's incredibly devoted to what he does."

The film, chronicling a Stone performance at the New York's Beacon Theater in fall 2006, even features a clip of guitarist Keith Richards meeting Clinton's 88-year old-mother, Dorothy Rodham. The Clinton Foundation, the former president's philanthropic effort, held a fundraiser during one of the concerts.

Clinton said her mother is an even bigger fan of the Stones.

"I thought she was going to just levitate," Clinton said of introducing Rodham to Richards and Jagger.

Hillary my Great Great Grandmother marched for Women's Right to Vote and was arrested for her actions. My Great Great Grandmother stood up for not only my right to vote but for all women to vote. Obama Rev. Wright has insulted my family calling us garlic nose italian's. As far as I know Jesus never used his own father name in vain. nor did Jesus ever use GD in any of his teachings. So Hilliary you have the vote of not only a great great grand daughter of a Women's Right to vote Protester , but also a Garlic Nose Italian. Hillary you have the vote of 30 Garlic Nose Italian's from Missouri. Hillary Cnn is afraid of you just like "Good Old Boys" on the hill. Kepp up the good work Mrs. President.

Joi   March 30th, 2008 10:12 pm ET

Please, how is Obama to blame if the votes dont count in Florida and Michigan? He is not the DNC! I GUARANTEE if it were the other way around you KNOW Hilary would be doing her dardnest to have those votes not count! She is a lame liar. I wonder why none of her supporters are commenting about her 'sniper fire'. OBAMA 08!

Powered by the People   March 30th, 2008 10:12 pm ET

Fl MI Gov broke the rules and need to be voted out.

Primaries were not valid. Not DNC, Hillary or Obama fault, just the Governor of those two states.

Vote them out —Please

50/50

FL got it wrong in 2000 , No! Gore could not win his own State

Gore would Flop

Hillary and or Obama would win.

DNC pick Gore that would disenfranchise all fifty states.

silly season, for the sorry loosers

4 more years of Bush or McBush

gordon   March 30th, 2008 10:08 pm ET

As a supporter of Hillary, it is amazing to me that such a large percentage of Obama supporters are filled with such hate and vindictiveness toward her. If you are following Obama because he's the candidate of hope and inclusion, and I believe he is, you ought to sit this one out and wait for David Duke to run again. He's more your type.

Kiesha   March 30th, 2008 10:03 pm ET

This message is directed to "please" and all other hillary faniatics. News flash if FL and MI did would not be a deciding factor and legitimacy for Hillary she wouldn't care about these states. The Clintons only care about themselves and winning and not the American people. If the roles were reversed and Obama needed these votes to be counted. These states and the DNC wouldn't even entertain this idea. She knew they wer going to count a year before. She underestimated her competition. She did not run a good campaign. One whom runs his campaign well is the one that runs the country well. Obama has proven time and time again that he is adaptable, and is willing to make changes when things are not working instead of staying "the course." WE NEED A FORWARD THINKER AND LITIGATOR.
WE NEED OBAMA 08.

P.S. NO SNIPER FIRES PLEASE. OH YES, CHELSEA WASN'T RUNNING NEAR THE TWIN TOWERS DURING 9/11

i think the republicans have been meddling in the democratic primary.
the reports on obama's minister. the failed florida and michigan primary. it's not hillary clinton that's dividing the party. it's the underhandedness of the republicans. remember, florida has a
republican govenor. why would he let millions of people wait in traffic
jams and in line for hours for nothing. the florida people had to be
determined to vote to go through what they went through. the republicans are trying to undermine the primary. the democratic
party needs to be very careful. i don't care if this is posted. cnn should
watch for what is going on. i know what the florida people went through to vote and this is completely unfair.

Hey, Justin from West Haven , CT. Not all baby boomers are corporate sell outs. I'm disgusted the way Senator Clinton has played the gender, race and victim cards. And now she says Michigan and Florida votes should count, even though Obama wasn't even on the ballot in Michigan and never campaigned in Florida like Senator Clinton did even though she signed an affidavit stating she wouldn't campaign in Florida or Michigan. If she insists the super delegates select the nominee, then why does she care about Michigan and Florida? So much for honesty and keeping her word. Let's see where Senator Clinton moves the goal posts this week.

Thanks CNN. It was kinda refreshing to hear a story about the candidates that didn't basic portray them negatively. It's a reminder that they are people underneath all the politicking, name calling, gender bias, racism and….the list goes on. Nice to be able to see them as just plain people doing ordinary stuff… which is a side I think the public needs to see more of.

The Democrats whined loudly in 2000 about false claims that voters were disenfranchised.

Now, they're actually doing it themselves - and all because of renegades in the state parties choosing to thwart the rules and get their primary on the boards early.

The voters in MI and FL should not suffer because of misbehavior on the part of their state Dem party leaders.

SDunn   March 30th, 2008 9:30 pm ET

Please says,"If you don't count the votes in Fl and Mi- then Obama wins by cheating.Who will vote for someone who cheats another democrat out of her victory?"

Are you ignorant? How many times do they have to report on this subject! Hillary thought she was going to win the nomination on super tuesday, that is why she signed that document regarding FL and MI to begin with. She had no clue that Obama would be able to compete with the Clinton machine. She didn't think she'd need FL or MI to win the nomination. So she signed that document willingly with NO PROTEST! If she was so concerned about disenfranchising voters in MI an FL she would've said something at that time. Now all of sudden since she's behind she's now concerned about MI & FL. What a crock. Those of you who fall underneath Hillary's spell need a reality check. The only person cheating here is Hillary. She knew the rules in the beginning; you should blame her for signing away your votes!

So, what stakes do you have in the Healthcare company really?

The on-going campaign of Clinton and Obama is actually helpful to the Democratic cause because it attracts attentions. In addition, this is a tag-team approach so that the Republicans are not sure which one to campaign against. When the issue of the nominee is finally resolved, the united Dem will be in a stronger position to re-take the WH.

If the DNC will not seat/count the FL and MI delegates, then an option in resolving the FL and MI mess is to allow the remaining superdelegates to represent the way FL and MI have voted. This would allow the DNC ruling to stand, and the superdelegates to exercise their independent judgement while representing the will of the people. This would at least appease those voters in FL and MI, and give legitimacy to the candidate who wins the delegate count.

OBAMA '08

Sam   March 30th, 2008 5:28 pm ET

Like Hillary, I can't wait to see "Shine A Light." I wonder if she could introduce me to the Glimmer Twins.

Matt   March 30th, 2008 5:25 pm ET

Irrelevant story. CNN is really digging for anything at this point.

Chris   March 30th, 2008 5:25 pm ET

Did she say anything about policy today?

Susan   March 30th, 2008 5:24 pm ET

Dear Mrs. Clinton, for the sake of this country and your party, after you have your encounter-please just go home.-what don't you understand-you lost!!

Bademus   March 30th, 2008 5:22 pm ET

biyids   March 30th, 2008 5:21 pm ET

JLUK   March 30th, 2008 5:19 pm ET

Go On Hillary. You are one of the strongest human being (forget the word woman) that I have ever met. Go on Hillary. I am there for you all the way.

Allen Childs   March 30th, 2008 5:19 pm ET

Why is this news???

Mon   March 30th, 2008 5:17 pm ET

What does this have to do with the situation in the U.S. today???

Does this rock band support Clinton?

Is this why it is news?

ddddave   March 30th, 2008 5:17 pm ET

I like the Stones as well, but she'd still make a terrible president.

Nice try though.

ps in jo'burg   March 30th, 2008 5:16 pm ET

wow. fascinating. far more interesting than the story on politico discussing how clinton is struggling to pay her campaign bills. Is CNN even trying anymore?

JOJo   March 30th, 2008 5:16 pm ET

That photo just doesn't look suitable for this article. Just something evil about Clinton with a basket.

matt   March 30th, 2008 5:13 pm ET

hilarious.

Clinton cant play basketball or bowl to relate, so she claims to be a rolling stone fan.

Now we have to verify that she attended the concerts….

Chuky   March 30th, 2008 5:13 pm ET

I love Hillary but I think Chelsea will make a better president.

Chelsea Clinton 2016!!!!

R   March 30th, 2008 5:13 pm ET

This is not news.

Tom, ALBUQUERQUE, NM   March 30th, 2008 5:12 pm ET

I love you Hillary Clinton, I admire your tenacity. I believe you can still win the Democratic nomination. PLEASE DON'T QUIT, WE CAN'T RISK AMERICA'S FUTURE WITH OBAMA.

Susan   March 30th, 2008 5:11 pm ET

'08 hopeful? Why can CNN just put HILLARY CLINTON on it's ticker headline - would the Obama fans whine? Give the woman some positive press!

BL / NYC   March 30th, 2008 5:10 pm ET

Very cool…

Clinton / Edwards 2008

Grif   March 30th, 2008 5:08 pm ET

"This could be the last time"? Maybe the last time, I don't know..
