There's a a plan brewing.

Lee WV   April 2nd, 2008 2:45 pm ET

Now she and her husband need to get behind Obama and help him over the top

Denis   April 2nd, 2008 2:43 pm ET

More power to you Elizabeth. I wish John was still in the race. I am supporting Hillary now. I believe that John Edwards' support of the working man and his drive to get all Americans Universal Health care should continue. Hillary Clinton is the only one who truly understands the issue that John has been eworking for.

Universal Health Care is available in all of the Western European Counrties and Canada. Americans who feel that this will bring socialism to American are incorrect. Universal health Care has nothing to do with political idealogy but everything to do with America's obligation to care for its citizens, just like social security. The health of America and Americans is a priority. People should not loose their life's belongings if they get ill. Universal Health Care is not free. It just means that everyone pays into a system. People still will have their choice in who they want for their doctor.

Elizabeth, I was so happy to see you and in reading further, I realized
that there was an another motive for your "coming out" Excuse me,
but had Hillary promised you Husband, John the V.P. job? Yes,
I know that Pa. Gov Rendall has been promised the Sec of Energy
job IF she wins. That would be a travesty if John would go for a
very unlikable woman who would hurt America by her, "
old politics",. The truth will come out but please do not hurt Obama.
No one wants another liar. We have been lied to enough and Americans crave the truth. Wonder Why???????????????????

Here's the ticket: Clinton/Elizabeth Edwards!!!!!!!!

Rita   April 2nd, 2008 1:51 pm ET

Mrs. Edwards please tell your husband to either get back in the race or quit . He is taking important votes away from the other 2 candidates. Please tell us he isn't holding out until August so he can throw his delegates out at the last minute to send one of them over the edge to win it all!

Nicknas   April 2nd, 2008 1:49 pm ET

I am very happy for her don't get me wrong. I hope all the best for her but……………….Why all of the press all of a sudden? Are you setting us up for something? Her husband is wasteing away on the sidelines and this is a way to boost his image??

John Edwards is just another self serving fence sitter. If he goes with Hillary then I will have to believe all of the " Ambulance chaser" stuff I heard about him. Is there noone in washington who sticks by their guns??

VOTER FOR TRUTH AND DIGNITY IN AMERICA   April 2nd, 2008 1:42 pm ET

We love you Elizabeth, but upon reading further, Did you just
endorse Hillary for your husband. Oh No. Hillary is a "politics
as usual liar". I think you just endorsed Hillary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Absolutely
not. Obamas Health Care Plan is just as good if not more caring
to people who cannot afford Health Care at all. This is a sham.
Elizabeth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OBAMA OR NO ONE 2008 or no one, Mrs. Edwards!!!!!!!!

It would be the best ticket…Clinton/Edwards.

I am very happy to she is back, and healthy. May god keep her, and her family

Angela   April 2nd, 2008 12:55 pm ET

Great woman! She deserves the honour. John Edwards is a major key in saving the almost certain defeat of the Party if the Clinton-Obama thing continues any longer. Mr. Edwards should endorse Sen. Obama who now has a clear lead. Failing to do so will make him an instrument of the Democrats' failure to win the elections. The same goes for Superdelegates who have not expressed public support for Mr. Obama yet. Remember: too late is always too late! Save the Party!

kim portland, oregon   April 2nd, 2008 12:45 pm ET

elizabeth, please tell your husband to run with obama as VP. america needs the leadership, excitement, level-headedness, and political goals of obama/edwards. it's going to take some very strong and committed people to drag us out of the mess the repubs have gotten us into the last 7 years!

Larry from LA   April 2nd, 2008 12:44 pm ET

I hope that John Edwards does not endorse anyone until after all the primaries are over.

Chuck in Oregon   April 2nd, 2008 12:44 pm ET

Sure Edwards would step up and support Obama. That would be a killer team. They may not agree on everything, but I do believe they could work through it all and come up with one heck of a platform to run on and kick McCain back to his chair as a Senator.

Keeping It Real!   April 2nd, 2008 12:44 pm ET

I like Elizabeth Edwards very much but I believe the only reason that she and her husband has come out now is to get the spot light back in an effort to help Hillary Clinton. The reason they didn't do it sooner was because they know that their followers will wonder if John Edwards really was sincere in all that he was touting on the stump. If anyone can recall he blasted Hillary several times by saying that she is a big reason or rather example of what's wrong with Washington. He also compared her several times with being in lock and step with the lobbist. He made even harsher statements. I believe the Edwards have struck a deal with the Clintons. John Edwards is very ambitous and probably is more concerned about his own political future. Remember in the debates how he stated more than once that he and Obama were the only two change agents in the race. He stated specifically that Hillary was a Washington insider and the status quo. I am not fooled by the Edwards although I do like them this sudden media blitz is to make health care an issue again so that they can use that as a reason to endorse Hillary. Edwards knows that if they are to be of any help to Hillary than they have to come out now. Obama is not going to wheel and deal with anyone to get their endorsement. Obama don't want to be indebted to anyone when he gets in office. Just think about my opinion with an open mind and you will see that what I say has real logic to it. Obama is what's best for this country because you cannot bring about a real change with the same old same old. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Edgar - Orlando, Florida   April 2nd, 2008 12:42 pm ET

Guy   April 2nd, 2008 12:36 pm ET

She's the kind of woman the Dems should have found for the ticket, not Hillary. Honest, warm, uncalculating, down to earth, self effacing and with grace under pressure when overcoming life's travails.

At least it's something for her to do…. I guess

Celia Ann   April 2nd, 2008 12:24 pm ET

I hope that she speaks with Dr.Marvin Kalb while she is there. He has a whole different perspective on the media coverage of these primaries. I had the opportunity to speak to him and he is very insightful and has the abilty to get to the real problems with the bias in media coverage. By the way, Sneator Clinton has the edge on the media no matter what she says.

John   April 2nd, 2008 12:24 pm ET

So, why all the Edwards coverage? Is he going to be on the Clinton ticket? Two stories on his wife in a day seems a bit odd unless there's more to it.

Gail   April 2nd, 2008 12:22 pm ET

We all wish Elizabeth and her family well and continued good health.

The wife of a former presidential hopeful who lost two times…. and this is news why?

Bella from Florida   April 2nd, 2008 12:18 pm ET

I would like to comment on something Elizabeth said this morning on Morning Joe. She was asked about Hillary and Obama's Health Care Plans and she said that Hillary's Plan was better than Obama's It will cover all Americans and his wouldn't. In order for this issue to be resolved once in for all it needs to be a Universal Health Care Plan. It's going to take a lot of work to get it done and Hillary is the only one that can do it. If we don't do it now we will never get all those Americans out there without Insurance Insured. Please make the right choice and vote for Hillary to get this done.

austbill   April 2nd, 2008 12:16 pm ET

Best wishes to you, Elizabeth. It is so great to hear you speaking up these days.

Wilson voting Expat   April 2nd, 2008 12:01 pm ET

The Edwards' add substance to any ticket, especially since HRC's post-debate attack personna over this past month his mired this race into the worse kind of 'silly season' carrying the media down with her into the worse kind of tabloid journalism and political pandering. It is refreshing to see a Dem leader demonstrate that this election is really about people and issues that serious-minded Americans actually care about!

I am thankful your health is ok Elizabeth. We have been very concerned for you.
