McCain takes shots at Letterman

Watch John McCain take jabs at David Letterman

(CNN) - Republican John McCain gave David Letterman a taste of his own medicine Tuesday night.

The late night talk show host often pokes fun at the 71-year-old senator because of his age. But McCain interrupted Letterman's monologue to get in a few shots of his own.

You think that stuff's pretty funny, don't you?" McCain told Letterman: "Well, you look like a
guy whose laptop would be seized by the authorities."

McCain is not funny. He certainly isn't Red Skelton, Mickey Rooney or Jerry Lewis even in their late ages would make the audience laugh. McCain is and will always be a boring, no straight talker politician. It is just a matter of time before the lid on his kettle is ready to pop.

Buddy, Darth Vadik, CA, you feel safe with the Obama as President, with all of the lies and HATE he has with his Pastor.

    Enjoy your self.

  4. A REAL American

Darth Vadik, I can tell that you're obviously a supporter of Obama, judging by the liberal comments I've see from you lately. It's ironic how you are so concerned and afraid about what McCain SAYS, but you have no qualms about what Obama DOES (or does not do). McCain knows plenty about the world around him from his extensive experience in the military and Congress- compare and contrast that with Obama's accomplishments (or lack thereof) and experiences in Congress. Doesn't amount to a whole lot now, does it? Then factor in how his perceptions of America have been shaped for over 20 years by a blatant racist and America-hater who Obama referred to as a "spiritual mentor." It becomes evident then that Obama is the one with a narrow mindset, not McCain.

Liberals are impressed with WORDS, conservatives are impressed with ACTIONS, and anyone who disagrees needs to look at the remaining candidates' and their supporters as evidence.

I have news for Darth. McCain is twice the man you will ever be. McCain is the U.S. and represents the decent folks in this country that still believe in America and that it is worth fighting for. I was brought up to respect my elders and I still do, so do my children.
That is what America is losing today.

In case you haven't noticed the fastest growing group of Americans is centenarians and they actually show up to vote in every election. They also vote Republican because they know what is at stake in this election. Age=Wisdom.

Don't get too excited about the young man on the block. He will be toast in November. We don't need his vision of America.

Please tell me why it would be funny to say "Well, you look like a
guy whose laptop would be seized by the authorities." To me, he's just making fun of racial profiling...probably the only thing McCain is good at!

So sick of the mentality that we constantly have to be worried about terror. Him allowing the Iraq war to go on another "100 years" is terror.

Luckily, having McCain as the Republican nominee all but secures a Democratic leader – nomatter if it is Obama or Clinton. THANK GOODNESS. We certainly do not need a 3rd term.

At least he's having some fun and not covering up lies and dodging bullets, or dodging bullets about not dodging bullets (sniper fire).

Yeah...lines right off the teleprompter...A true leader will have the words with him..in his heart and in his head he will know what to say and do.I respect the Elders and I think McCain should be relaxing somewhere where its sunny and warm and not trying to remember where he is everyday and what his mission is.

I wonder how McCain kept his hot temper in check, during that appearance. He is well known for his temper with people that work with him in the senate, and even his conservative friends say he has a short fuse. Just what we need for a President.

Yep, he is not a comedian which is good because that is not what I am looking for in the next president. The democrats have the republicans covered on the whole entertainment section anyway with the "Hill and Bill show" and the "Audacity of Rehtoric" and the cat fighting. Makes for good tv but not for winning elections.

McCain is an american hero and will get my vote in the coming elections. If he has no clue then the democrats are probably in negative territory on that point.

It's a shame politicians feel compelled to pander to the media today.

Appearing on "Saturday Night Live" or "Letterman" or "The Tonight Show", etc... will not influence voters. Your experience, voting record, policy stances, etc... should be all that is required.

Unfortunately that is not the case since we now live in a culture fixated on the "sound bite" and too reliant on biased media reports.

This dynamic could very well lead to the election of a "media darling" in Barack Obama. A candidate who is wholly unqualified to be the next President (based on lack of experience alone), but remains viable due to his good looks, excellent public speaking skills and the use of catchwords like "Hope" and "Change" .

It remains to be seen if the Fourth Estate continues to cover up this glaring deficiency or will expose it as the General Election nears???
