Watch Jesse Ventura on CNN's Larry King Live Tuesday night.

(CNN) – Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura is back and angrier than ever at both political parties.

"I never vote Democrat or Republican," the former wrestler said on CNN's Larry King Live Tuesday night. "I will pick someone else, a libertarian on the ballot. Someone else. I will not vote for a republican or democrat. I don't do it every election — I wish they would allow none of the above on the ballot."

On his own political future, Ventura said he is not planning on running for president because of the difficulty third party candidates have in securing ballot access.

"Am I going to run? Too difficult," he said. "Because they make an independent like me jump through 50 different hoops because every state has different things you have to do to qualify to get on the ballot."

Who cares about this hasbeen. What he thinks is news?

Craig   April 2nd, 2008 3:37 pm ET

Both Dems will lose. I know it.

Marty   April 2nd, 2008 3:34 pm ET

Why can't people who leave their comments spell? Why don't they know basic grammar and syntax? I thought the Obama people were supposed to be the smart ones. They are supposed to be educated and young and superior, right? I am very disillusioned, and now I feel that their candidate may also be less than he is tauted to be.

Dave   April 2nd, 2008 3:27 pm ET

Did any of you people watch the interview? Was there anything he said that wasnt the truth? This guy knows what is really going on in Washington. Thanks for speaking up Jesse!

Cathy   April 2nd, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Derrick said it best ! Actors!

CA teacher   April 2nd, 2008 3:20 pm ET

For your sake, I hope we elect someone who can improve the public education system. It's difficult to take the opinion of an illiterate seriously.

Steve   April 2nd, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Too many shots to the head I guess.

Jesse!!!!!!!!!   April 2nd, 2008 3:15 pm ET

My Gov. can beat up your Gov!!!

What a refreshing breath of fresh air!!! Speaking the truth, your the man Jesse!

(Dude, just get a haircut or tell us it's for a movie charater - what's up with the hair?)

Very Concerned Community   April 2nd, 2008 3:13 pm ET

Please ………….

Bob   April 2nd, 2008 3:10 pm ET

Jessie please run for President.

Connie - Minnesota   April 2nd, 2008 2:50 pm ET

Just two words for Jesse: Who cares?

JB Oakland   April 2nd, 2008 2:49 pm ET

Derrick,

Your comments slamming Obama are moronic at best. Obama is hands down better prepared to lead than McCain on every issue you just mentioned.

Bdiddy   April 2nd, 2008 2:39 pm ET

Ahh lighten up everybody. You would have tuned in for the debates!!!!

I would have loved to see him dressed as The Body standing next to old McCain. That would have been priceless.

Rob   April 2nd, 2008 2:38 pm ET

well,
i was watching it and i have to say that he is actually right. He had some weird opinions about Iraq but everything else I agree at almost 100%. if you guys want someone that would bring change you wouldnt vote for Obama you would vote for him

rob

Phil in KC   April 2nd, 2008 2:32 pm ET

OK - he's entertaining to watch and he definitely has an opinion about nearly everything. But I care what he thinks why?
I do think he makes a valid point about the problems 3rd Party (or 4th Party or 5th Party) candidates have getting on the ballot. When it comes to President, it needs to be standardized nationally and it shouldn't be an impossible task. But Jesse Ventura is not someone I would vote for.
Of course, I didn't think anyone would vote for a washed-up B-movie actor but I was proven wrong abut that…..

John - Maryland   April 2nd, 2008 2:20 pm ET

Geez - Go back overseas and hide under the rock you came from……What a disgrace.

Brian G, Sugar Land, TX   April 2nd, 2008 2:17 pm ET

This must be a slow news day for you guys at CNN.
Jeez, better you should be reporting kittens stuck in trees than this "mis-Adventura".

Tom New Hope, MN   April 2nd, 2008 2:10 pm ET

Jesse you had your time as Minnesota govenor and majorily blew it. Now it is time to sit down and shut up!!!

Craig Pottruff   April 2nd, 2008 2:04 pm ET

Jesse Ventura? I would rather see Conan O'Brien as President! Actually, he would probably make a good President ;)

raf   April 2nd, 2008 2:03 pm ET

Thank you, Doc Brown.

Jazz   April 2nd, 2008 2:03 pm ET

This is the type of leader the people of Minnesota elected. Now they want us to trust them on Obama. Heaven help us all.

kenny   April 2nd, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Go back to the WWF on Monday night and shut your month.

Alonzo Demetrius   April 2nd, 2008 1:51 pm ET

Governor Ventura was a joke, played on the people of Minnesota by the youngsters who had to also pay the price (maybe by now they have matured). Ventura's statement supports just why we SHOULD have parties, and our elected officials should come through those parties. That way we have some idea what they stand for before they are elected.

Christina   April 2nd, 2008 1:50 pm ET

I'm sorry, why do we care about Jesse Ventura?

Vig   April 2nd, 2008 1:50 pm ET

The male ego never ceases to amaze - some people are limelight junkies. I have absolutely no interest in hearing what this "has-been" has to say.

Jeremy - Worcester, MA   April 2nd, 2008 1:41 pm ET

The governor would be the best candidate in this field of presidential wannabes. Maybe he and Ron Paul could run as the Libertarian ticket? They'd have my vote and not an insignificant number of others.

chris   April 2nd, 2008 1:37 pm ET

anybody but a lying raciast anti-american black man to run the country or a lying socialist women id rather slowly lower our country to hell in a handbaskete then to just throw it down as fast as we can with what the dems are putting on the table

Mildred   April 2nd, 2008 1:35 pm ET

Did Jesse Ventura take his crazy pill today. He looked like a big clown on TV talking crazy.

Bart   April 2nd, 2008 1:32 pm ET

He may be a jester, but the joke is on YOU.

rick   April 2nd, 2008 1:31 pm ET

Pointless news.

Obama or McCain for 2008

Jack/OK   April 2nd, 2008 1:30 pm ET

As a former resident of Minnesota who did vote for Jesse Ventura, I recall he had his moments like anyone in elected office. However the biggest thing I remember was, he was the first elected official from the state who gave money back to the residents of the state, along of course with the help of the then Democrat held House and Senate.

People have to remember, he is no worse than who the US Supreme Court put into office back in 2000.

...and yet he speaks the truth   April 2nd, 2008 1:30 pm ET

You can hate him all you want, you may not respect him, you may think he's a joke… I, MYSELF, don't even like him… and yet he speaks the truth. The United States is a REPUBLIC… NOT a democracy so why are we trying to spread democracy??????
Citizens need to wake up and realize that they are not citizens (Upper case C not lower case c) Citizens have rights, corporations don't. Our government is lying, cheating, stealing and breaking laws… they have betrayed us and nobody seems to care.
The 2 "major" parties make it impossible for a 3rd party to run but the American Citizens don't seem to care.
Our last election was between 2 "skull and bones" bothers and nobody could even report on it… WHERE are we headed?
Hate him if you want… it's not a popularity contest… it's about the TRUTH.

Derrick   April 2nd, 2008 1:29 pm ET

I think Jesse Ventura and Barack Obama are the same and have TONS in common. Both are actors and DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING about POLITICS, POLICY, FOREIGN RELATIONS, ECONOMICS, or HEALTHCARE.

Electing Barack Obama is like electing Jesse Ventura or George Bush.

Hillary Clinton or John McCain. …. NEXT! NEVER OBAMA

Chris, Toledo, OH   April 2nd, 2008 1:27 pm ET

Larry suggested the possibility of Ventura running with Ron Paul, but both have the same argument against third party runs. I just don't understand why they wouldn't exhaust every opportunity out there to advance the fight for freedom against the two main nationalist and socialist candidates.

JONNA   April 2nd, 2008 1:26 pm ET

So sad, that you couldn't find anything more interesting to broadcast. I changed the channel.

A Minnesotan   April 2nd, 2008 1:26 pm ET

I can not beleive CNN and Larry King take the time to interview this guy, when there are so many more interesting, relevant people. Who cares what Jesse is doing - just let him stay away.

Heh   April 2nd, 2008 1:22 pm ET

A resident of california mocking a celebrity governor?! that's a good one!

Pat Va   April 2nd, 2008 1:19 pm ET

He was on Larry King last night….and very, very angry. About what? Who knows?

dana west   April 2nd, 2008 1:18 pm ET

everyone seems to feel the same way about ventura, but he did make one good point, and that was mcains should be retired now.

S Koch   April 2nd, 2008 1:18 pm ET

Why would you waste time/space on this bozo?

northphily05   April 2nd, 2008 1:10 pm ET

You dudes are the Joke, Ventura spoke the truth, it might have been harsh but it was the truth. You guys are use to placid promises and hearing things that you want to hear. you'r the joke, Ventura "08″

IknowaJoke   April 2nd, 2008 1:05 pm ET

Jesse Ventura reminds me of that Clown Arnold Schwarzenegger, though Jesse actually knows how to speak and problably more intelligent.

Swalker327   April 2nd, 2008 1:03 pm ET

No only does he sound crazy — he looks scary. Was he a wrestler or lead star in the movie Alien?

grandma in MN   April 2nd, 2008 1:02 pm ET

When Jesse was our governor he'd close his office every day to watch his favorite soap opera but that was after his inaugeration where he flew on stage of theTarget Arena wearing a boa to his favorite song: Wherewolves in London. Yeah. This is just what we need at a critical time in our history.

Jeff   April 2nd, 2008 12:56 pm ET

why do people always complain about things being news or not? this is the political ticker. you want news, click on the home page

Ron Klemp   April 2nd, 2008 12:55 pm ET

After reading all the comments, I can only iterate what they say in Minnesota and neighboring Fargo, "End of story!"

kathe oakland, california   April 2nd, 2008 12:55 pm ET

Since you have no party, not even an independent - why in the world would I listen to you - where is your stance as an American voter when you do not even choose anyone.

You run for President - - - GOD NO

Jeanne   April 2nd, 2008 12:51 pm ET

I prefer not to vote for Dems or Reps either. I'd like to see a good solid 3rd party candidate. Too bad the current system makes it so difficult for independents to run. But I guess that's democracy for you.

fairandstraight   April 2nd, 2008 12:44 pm ET

Anyone can get an interview on CNN. Who in the world cares about what this guy has to say. He doesn't have enough hair to be president, much less the brains. How do you go from wrestling to politics anyway?

Native American View Point   April 2nd, 2008 12:44 pm ET

True..havingt this guy on the news was a big waste of time. Why does CNN think its news to pull has beens off the shelves and try to make news out of them? How sad…

Edgar - Orlando, Florida   April 2nd, 2008 12:41 pm ET

Down here not a lot of people will be voting for Obama….from my end no Hillary then hello President McCain.

Praetorian, Fort Myers   April 2nd, 2008 12:41 pm ET

His values are right on!!
We desperately need a third party in this country.
There is no moderate voice–on the extreme left and the extreme right–and neither are what's best for the nation.

Where's Ross Perot!!

bryen   April 2nd, 2008 12:41 pm ET

Bring back ACE VENTURA!!! (Not Jesse Ventura)

jamaster   April 2nd, 2008 12:41 pm ET

I thought he made some good points which surprised me considering he used to be a wrestler. He sounds like a frustrated and angry individual and he has every right to be considering the way politics is run nowadays.

Cathy   April 2nd, 2008 12:40 pm ET

Are You Kidding Me?? We've already lost the respect of the world community now. Guess their having another good laugh.

RG from MA   April 2nd, 2008 12:39 pm ET

This waste of prime news space is outrageous! He was on Larry King last night and I was wondering to myself what on earth was CNN thinking?

jason   April 2nd, 2008 12:35 pm ET

Objection, your honor!

relevance?

Max Goldblatt   April 2nd, 2008 12:34 pm ET

I take what Mr. said to heart, what he says makes sense, he is a straight shooter and in my eyes a great american.

DrFill   April 2nd, 2008 12:33 pm ET

Better than Nader
DrFill

dave   April 2nd, 2008 12:31 pm ET

"I wish they would allow none of the above on the ballot"

Seriously? It's called not voting.

After further review,Texas   April 2nd, 2008 12:28 pm ET

Time to read the Drudge report.

Dear CNN   April 2nd, 2008 12:28 pm ET

Is your informatipn relative to the election reliable?

Vick   April 2nd, 2008 12:27 pm ET

whos this guys….please dont waste your time and website space for these people.

DLF   April 2nd, 2008 12:27 pm ET

I watched the video and I am proud of Jesse Ventura for telling it LIKE IT IS!!! I said WOW!

I am sure that the Republican and Democrat sheep will call him negative names and all but just the same there is someone who has some real sense in this nation.

Jesse doesn't just talk the talk, he walks the walk! Hear what he said about using solar energy for electricity?

I wish I was able to do that!

kp   April 2nd, 2008 12:26 pm ET

I think if we put nun of the above on the ballot, we will violate the division between church and state.

Bill Stapp   April 2nd, 2008 12:26 pm ET

Jesse was willing to stand up for his beliefs and he put his name on the ballot. It was a surprise when he was elected, but I doubt many of those making such negative comments have EVER put their names up for public scrutiny. The people of Minnesota were tired of the usual politics… they wanted a change. Sound familar? It is what Jesse still wants and what we really need.

Davin   April 2nd, 2008 12:25 pm ET

How dare CNN suggest that there could be a third party option. What is this supposed to be, a democracy?

eddie   April 2nd, 2008 12:24 pm ET

Are you people shocked. The ultra liberals who run the democratic party have pushed us moderates out.
These are the types that back the most liberal senator obama, just like the senator of minnesota, just like the former governor, and just like pelosi and reid.
Vote hillary for the mainstream working american!

Sue Poirier   April 2nd, 2008 12:22 pm ET

My husband and I want Jesse Ventura to run for President. We believe he can fix the mess we're in.

Justin, PA   April 2nd, 2008 12:19 pm ET

I used to take this guy seriously but he lost a lot of credibility. Neither party is as bad as the other party makes them out to be. He seems too influenced by negative ads.

Blackwater66   April 2nd, 2008 12:19 pm ET

I am with Jesse ! None of the above would be fine and it is too bad a 3rd party candidate cannot even get into the race for the real Americans int his country.

God Bless You !

ryan   April 2nd, 2008 12:18 pm ET

he could never be able to beat mccain, clinton, or obama even if he ran for the dems or republicans

Dan in Chicago   April 2nd, 2008 12:18 pm ET

Yes, I totally agree with him. The parties are so corrupt and the system is so biased…. I'm honestly appalled by the number of people who think you shouldn't be allowed to run or recognized under a different party or as an independent. What the hell is wrong with you people?

Unshrub   April 2nd, 2008 12:16 pm ET

I have been living next door to MN since before Jesse became governor. He started out great and did a good job, but he then let his personality get the better of him and he he turned his office into a freak show.

Delta Dave   April 2nd, 2008 12:14 pm ET

Is this even worthy of airing. Ventura is a joke!! Please, with all the important things going on in the world, do we have to be exposed to this idiot?

TTM   April 2nd, 2008 12:13 pm ET

There is absolutely no way.

BJ in ATL   April 2nd, 2008 12:11 pm ET

Jesse Ventura is from Fresno.

kelly haas, moorpark, california   April 2nd, 2008 12:10 pm ET

Atleast he's not hillary !

RealNewsGuy   April 2nd, 2008 12:07 pm ET

CNN once more you have "entertained" me - now, I am going to go to a foreign new network to get some "actual" news….thanks for providing me with all your comedy and bias crap.

sophia nyc   April 2nd, 2008 12:05 pm ET

Merciful heavens.

This is the political change we need. Away from these clowns.

Jason   April 2nd, 2008 12:04 pm ET

I will vote for him over the other three clowns. Heck, I'd even help out to put him on the ballot if thats what he is saying he needs.

Mike   April 2nd, 2008 12:01 pm ET

Presidential Smackdown

Mary56   April 2nd, 2008 12:01 pm ET

Who cares?

strong   April 2nd, 2008 12:00 pm ET

Jesse Ventura? What a joke.

I guess since he saw that if George Dubya could be president, then anyone could be. The world is full of dolts.

bob in la   April 2nd, 2008 12:00 pm ET

Jesse needs to find a life outside politics. He sounded like an uniformed hack last night on Larry King.
When confronted with facts he just dismissed them becuase they did not fit his rant for the evening.
This country is not the WWF- our lives are real!

AlanBTR   April 2nd, 2008 11:58 am ET

Yes, I remember when he ran for governor of Minnesota. His speeches were very convincing. He really sounded like he was going to bring on CHANGE. Sound familiar?

We cannot elect people because they give good speeches. We need to elect those that can bring about REAL CHANGE.

Hillary ‘08

Lydia   April 2nd, 2008 11:57 am ET

I watched thus yesterday. Governor??? What a joke.

D.D.   April 2nd, 2008 11:57 am ET

As VP Cheney would say: "So?"

Kmp;   April 2nd, 2008 11:56 am ET

Better him than Nader

Joe Black   April 2nd, 2008 11:54 am ET

This is important, because?

It is a sad day for America, when political commentary from someone who faked fighting with people is considerd "insight".

While he is entitled to his opinions (as we are all), his are hardly news.

His only brush with politics was a total disaster.

Karri, Minnesota   April 2nd, 2008 11:53 am ET

I'd vote for him, and I think he did a great job as govenor. I don't care if he was a wrestler or not. People just can't handle having the truth laid out in front of them sometimes the truth hurts and people can't handle it. I love being an independent.

Alex H   April 2nd, 2008 11:53 am ET

KC - You mean like the actor Ronald Reagan who was governor of California before becoming President?

No no no, not like that… that would discredit your point!

Anyone but Obamination   April 2nd, 2008 11:52 am ET

At least he is a better choice then Obama..

Tom   April 2nd, 2008 11:52 am ET

He should use his time somewhere else. There is no ways that he could win. I’m not even sure how he was elected to gov. of MN before.

Change 4 America LA, CA   April 2nd, 2008 11:52 am ET

Wrestling is fake and so it this guy… Where do these people come from…
Please just go away…

BEEN THERE...   April 2nd, 2008 11:51 am ET

AS A RESIDENT OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, I CAN SAY FOR A FACT THAT THIS GUY IS A BUFOON. HIS TERM WAS A TRUE BLACK EYE TO OUR STATE.

skyhawk   April 2nd, 2008 11:50 am ET

Starring in "Predator" turned out to be a pretty good poltical move! I am from Minnesota and I got a chance to shake his hand after he gave a speach @ the U of Minnesota and took a pic w/ him. What a cool guy!

FNJ in PA   April 2nd, 2008 11:50 am ET

Really he needs to go away!

OBAMA 08…OR ELSE MCCAIN!

RJ from Texas   April 2nd, 2008 11:49 am ET

Jesse Ventura is an absolute idiot.

Uncle Sam   April 2nd, 2008 11:45 am ET

Jesse makes a good point. Independent candidates have a very difficult time competing against the two-party establishment. This despite the fact that there are now more Independents than Democrats or Republicans.

Sherry in Kentucky   April 2nd, 2008 11:44 am ET

I saw this interview with Larry King last night and he was really good. I agreed with just about everything he said. He made the other talking heads look like the spinsters they are.

George from Minneapolis   April 2nd, 2008 11:44 am ET

I am from Minnesota and I can say WHAT A CLOWN. No one but the intellectually challenged should care what he thinks about politics. Now, if he was talking about wrestling them maybe he should be acknowledged.

Anyone but Obamination   April 2nd, 2008 11:42 am ET

At least he is a better choice then Obama…

Chris from NC   April 2nd, 2008 11:42 am ET

Nice haircut

Teresa   April 2nd, 2008 11:37 am ET

Too Bad Jesse. It all about money which you probably don't have enough of.

Will   April 2nd, 2008 11:37 am ET

I would vote for Jesse Ventura for President!!

David   April 2nd, 2008 11:36 am ET

Hey Jesse, Maybe Lou Dobbs can convince you to run for president. Any Independent to him is better than the qualified candidates we have now. But be careful, he changes his mind daily.

Donald S.   April 2nd, 2008 11:36 am ET

A slow news day CNN?

Floridian   April 2nd, 2008 11:34 am ET

If it is "too difficult" for you to jump through the hoops of registering in all the 50 states you want to lead, then you certainly shouldn't be running for president. Good call, Ventura.

Victor   April 2nd, 2008 11:34 am ET

You have to admit the man is colorful. People will listen to him, good or bad, they will listen to him

AMY   April 2nd, 2008 11:33 am ET

I agree 100% with Jesse. I wish none of them were on the ballot. I will not vote. They lost me a long time ago. Too much bickering and no solid answers to anything. This whole thing is a joke. Not one of them has told me what they are going to do for me.

Dee   April 2nd, 2008 11:32 am ET

Get a hair cut!

Richard, FL   April 2nd, 2008 11:31 am ET

Jesse is back!!! Way back.

Chris from San Antonio   April 2nd, 2008 11:30 am ET

He doesn't have time to bleed. Or vote in a two-party system.

Marc   April 2nd, 2008 11:28 am ET

You ran Minn. like a big dummy. Vince your long time boss for WWE was holding the strings and you did just what he said and Minn saw unemployment rise and job losses. Go do something with your hair and leave this kind of work for people like Obama.

JDC   April 2nd, 2008 11:27 am ET

Jesse understands how all we get fed from the two parties is political HACKS!

Stu Smith, CA   April 2nd, 2008 11:24 am ET

So now we've heard from Fifty Cent and Jesse Ventura. When is Carrot Top going to weigh in?

S.B. Stein E.B. NJ   April 2nd, 2008 11:24 am ET

It would prove interesting if he or some other well known independant could be on the ballot on all 50 states. As of now, I don't think that there is anyone out there that is good enough and could get on the ballot in all 50 states that would be electable. If you are going to to do that, there needs to be a really wealthy guy (or group of people) to gather behind one person that could rally behind.

Tex   April 2nd, 2008 11:23 am ET

Golly gee, this is really news worthy. I will now sleep better at night.

Nancy   April 2nd, 2008 11:21 am ET

Why are we even covering this guy???????

KC   April 2nd, 2008 11:20 am ET

Jesse,
There is no way that you would win the presidency anyway. We have been humiliated enough having a cheerleader-dolt for the past 7-plus years. We do not need a pro wrestler! Good God!
Please let us elect someone with a brain this time!

Bryan   April 2nd, 2008 11:19 am ET

CNN is this really important news????
Who cares what this guy has to say anyway !

Michael Guinn- Ventura, CA   April 2nd, 2008 11:18 am ET

I can't believe this guy was the governor of a State!

FEDUP   April 2nd, 2008 11:17 am ET

This jerk couldn't handle being Governor much less president, why is he even being ask this question?

Sylvia   April 2nd, 2008 11:14 am ET

Hillary needs to run as an independent
