Clinton raises $20 million in March

(CNN) - Six hours after senior advisers to Hillary Clinton told reporters her March fundraising total would not be released until later this month, campaign sources tell CNN her campaign raised $20 million during that time period - about half of what rival Barack Obama took in for the month.

The heavens are opened and the celestial choir are singing "Time to quit, Hillary"

Hillarys' supporters should do the right thing and start supporting Obama, so that we will have a democrat in the White House. Hillarys' supporters should think about the country and support the winning candidate.

Whats more important is how little of it can be used for the primary season. THATS BECAUSE ALL OF HER MONEY COMES FROM LARGE DONORS WHO ARE MAXED OUT.

Obama has his worst month effort in the press and raises 40 million.

Wake up HIllary supporters, lets get behind Obama now and make this election a mandate victory for Barack.

Time to put your pettiness aside for the good of the country.

Now that is down from the $35 million she raised in February. I wonder why? Liar comes to mind. She is losing her support because people realize that she cannot be trusted.

Looks like the well is beginning to dry up. I wonder how much of that is for the general election. Also, if you take out the 14 million in debts the campaign has, then she really only raised 6 million and has only about 3 million on hand. Obama has over 70 million on hand.

    Hmmmm!!!!

I don't underestimate Hillary Clinton's ability to use that amount to its fullest potential to ruthlessly tear down Barack Obama and tear apart the Democratic party and hand the election to John McCain.

It doesn't matter – Clinton or Obama, they're both approximately the same. Clinton is less-able to hide the fact she's a true politician, that's all. Obama is good at hiding it, but in the end he's just a politician.

I wonder how much McCain is raising for the GE? With democrats wasting all their money on the primaries, does that mean they won't have that much for the GE?

McCain has more integrity than both of them combined. I can't wait to see what he does as president!

By the time they release the official numbers, it'll be probably be half of that. But everyone will forget by then.

The Clinton camp actually did this about a year ago. Aback in Feb of 07 they claimed to rake in $6.3 million in a single day. Later when they released the official numbers 3 months later, it turned out to be closer to $2 million. But no one in the media confronted them about it....

Tsk! Tsk! I am not surprised with all of the lies she tells. It sounds like people are starting to see through her. Try these additional lies for size:

    1) HIllary claims she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary, who scaled Mount Everest . . .NOT!

    2) Hillary claims Chelsea was jogging around the World Trade Ctr on 9/11. In fact, Chelsea was watching everything on TV.

    3) Hillary claims that she started the Children's Health Insurance program. NEVER INVOLVED!

    4) When running for N.Y. Senate, she claimed she has always been a Yankies fan. Too hilarious!

I have lost respect for the Clinton's. Sorry Hill-billies!

I now can see why the Hillary Camp did not want to announce the amount they have raised on the same line/day as the Obama Camp. People can too easily do the math, side by side. Sounds like the donor money is drying up and out of the money raised, they still have outstanding debts from the previous two months. Hmmmmm

That's still a lot of money. Clinton has lots of loyal supporters and good democrats. In the end, we will all support whichever democrat is the nominee, despite what we say and how we are voting now. I know lots of Obama and Clinton supporters who say they will vote for McCain -and are being honest – but when they recover from their disappointment and think about it, they will vote for the democrat, whoever it is.

Obama's contribtions average about $96.00 however Clinton's average contributors was about $170.00. Why is it that? Can someone remind her that she overdue on paying her bills.

Senator Hillary Clinton is one of the most distructive people in government much like President Bush she like to rack up bills for someone else to pay.

How in the hell can she say that she pro union when she worked on the board of Wal-Mart fighting the Union. She was heartless than and she is heartless now. By her not paying her bill some one can be going hungry. Raising $20 millions dollars she should pay all of her bills.

  67. Democrats United

This is a good total for Senator Clinton. She will win Pennsylvania, albeit not by as large a margin her campaign was hoping for. In the end, Obama will get to be the Nominee and she will endorse him. Come November, the Democrats will be united and will handily defeat McCain. Sure there will be lots of anger from Clinton supporters and they will loudly voice their support for McCain in an outburst of anger and resentment toward Obama for sneaking into this election and snatching the first real chance we have come to electing a female President. Obama will probably have to pick a female other than Clinton (Kathleen Sebelius, D-KS) for the VP spot to satisfy the majority of these supporters. Clinton will be forced to campaign hard and strong for Obama to heal the wounds of the Party. She will probably have to go as far as to say, "I will not run again in 2012"

We need Obama because he is not spoilt by Washington politics yet. Hope he will not, ever!

Hillary supporters, it is time to get behind change – get behind the only candidate who can change the future for USA. Abandon the dilly dally candidate, and vote for Obama.

Now I see why the Clinton campaign did not want to announce their totals on the same day in the same breathe as the Obama campaign. Sounds like her supprt is drying up and there are still outstanding bills to be paid to vendors in Ohio and dont forget about health premiums due for her employees. She is the Healthcare leader but can't pay health premiums Hmmmmm

Clinton only wastes people's donation for her own selfserving desire. I wish the media would show side by side the opposite views or statements by Clinton, such as her recall of Bosnia's snipers fire and the actual scene; her telling people Obama wants to end the race with him saying she can go as long as she likes; her 3 am phone call and the misspoke due to sleep-deprivation; her saying MI&FL votes won't count (or her signed agreement of such) and her spin that she cares for their voters' right; So many that will make a hilarious cartoon series.

    Just thought of something funny!

Hillary's supporters drink a lot of beer that McCain's wife produces. Hillary's supporters get poor and get bigger bellies, while McCain's wife rakes in millions.

I heard McCain's wife has agreed to open her beer money coffers to pay for his biography tours. The beer money she got from Clintonians!

If you think about it, Clintonians are funding McCain's campaign at the expense of her own presidential bid. Won't it be smarter to give that contribution to Obama? Wake up Clintonians – do yourself a favor and give your money and vote to Obama. Please!

The Obama campaign will have brought in twice as much money. What is even more impressive is how much of that is due to the number of first-time and small donor contributions...the numbers are staggering. The reason, Obama is the "People's Candidate" and even in a time of economic certainty Americans are willing to give their time, their energy and their "hard earned" money to a candidate who offers a new direction and vision for America.

Interesting that the article on Sen. Obama's total for March reads:

"Impressive as the $40 million figure is, it is well below the $55 million Obama raised in February."

Sen. Clinton raised $20 million in March–$15 million less than in Feb.

Sen. Obama raised $40 million in March–$15 million less than in Mar.

So why doesn't the Clinton article also read:

Frankly, I am sick of seeing Hillary on TV. Whatever she says is lined with lies and her personal ambition.

She agreed with the other candidates that Florida and Michigan won't count, but now is changing her mind because it suits her.

Pennsylvania should spare us all the pain, and vote for Obama, so we democrats can start uniting the party and stop wasting any more crucial $$ on this primary.

And...McCain, he's now won the nomination, but what is he doing? He could be developing policies, trying out solutions to problems, but instead he is doing a "biographical tour" of the country. Another politician, like Hillary, who sees the whole point of this exercise as winning a popularity contest, rather than trying to solve real issues for the country.

McCain and Clinton are purely in this race for their own perceived greatness.

    Hillary's math test:

    a) I can run this country's economy

    b) I can ruin this country's economy

    Her Answer: b)
YES she is correct she will ruin us, because she will pocket it all in, after all this is personal

Hillary won't quit until she's milked every cash cow out there that's contributing to her campaign so she can get her bills paid. It's not like the Clinton's haven't made millions since leaving the White House, she just wants the little people of America, in unimportant states, that are too small to matter, to give her the money so she won't have to use any of those millions already in her bank accounts, and also, who knows how that money ended up in their bank accounts. Maybe some of it's from her slumlord grandmother from Pennsylvania.

Here's what's so funny: Hillary's is unable to raise the same amount of money to be even close to Obama even though she had all the "fat cats" in her corner. Her fundraising effort is so poor that her campaign is not paying all their bills and Hillary and company are now being called "deadbeats." This is same Hillary who kicked off the campaign and considered herself the Democratic Preisidential Nominee Incarnate. This is same Hillary who was going to end Obama's campaign on Super Tuesday on February 5th. This was the same Hillary who led Obama in PA by 20 points in February and now is done to 9 points with three weeks to go.

I was never a supporter of Hillary. I have always seen her and Bill's true colors. I think she should just bow out gracefully. I am not saying that because I support Obama, but she should just stop thinking of herself at this point. Let Obama focus on McCain, it is going to be a bloody fight. If she bows out I think I would respect her more.

In other words, beware small business owners in states that still have primaries to go. If she can not raise enough money to pay her bills, when the election is over and Obama is finally named the winner, Hillary will not be able to pay you! Demand the money up front, or expect to take a loss because she can not spend the money that is for the General election to pay the bills that she will still owe for the primary.

Why is Obama raising so much more money? More small donors who give often and more new donors. The Superdelegates are beginning to catch on that people feel part of the campaign THEY are funding. Obama calls for personal responsibility, and we, his loyal donors, phone volunteers, etc., feel responsible for helping to bring about the new political reality we want, by working for and paying for OUR campaign. We expect Barack to push for changes, and we will be VERY sure other elected officials know we expect them to help move the country forward. My generation helped end an unpopular war and extend voting and other civil rights. Now we get to help this generation impact the country's agenda!

How can Hillary make any statements about the financial institutions that have hurt homeowners, when she is hurting many small businesses, Mom and Pop businesses, by not paying her bills? If she only raised $20 million, and had $13 million in debt left from February, then she will not have enough money to run her campaign and still be able to pay the small businesses. If she is insisting on continuing to run and put everything on "credit" with the small business owners, when all is said and done, she will not be paying the small business owners. Her campaign is broke, but she doesn't care because it won't come out of her pocket, it will come out of the pocket of all those left holding the bag.

Its done..... she claims she knows how to answer the "red phone" at 3 AM for foreign and economic crisis.

Bosnia showed us what she would do at 3 AM. She would be "sleep deprived" and comment about snipers in the hills. Next up, nuclear war to take them and Sinbad out.... while she rides the unicorn to the next dream world.

NAFTA and her campaign finances show us how she would handle economic crisis. She isnt paying small vendors, can not raise cash and keeps charging it because she has "hope" that it will take care of it self. As American as that is these days with the housing and credit crisis, it is NOT the leadership by example we need.

I am still dumbfounded by this perception of the Clintons fighting for the small guys, yet they boast over 50million in personal wealth, invest in tax havens, have the most influential movers and shakers of Wallstreet on their side and yet dont pay the small vendors.

But truth has a way of floating to the top after all the skimming. Watch that community organizer fellow who only recently finished paying his student loan and is worth less than 2 million in personal wealth. Rumor has it the Clinton campaign "burn rate" is $500,000/day, which means she spent at least $15 million in March while raising $20 mill. But we don't know how much of that $20 mill was for the general election; it could easily be $5 million or more because we were hearing way back before Super Tuesday that a large fraction of her contributors had already maxed out on their $2300 limit for the primaries. Conclusion: cash on hand available for the primaries must be close to zero. No wonder they're stiffing vendors and skimping on media buys in Pennsylvania and foregoing them entirely in Indiana and North Carolina.

This is a campaign on artificial life support. Thus the scorched earth, slash-and-burn tactics against Obama. It guarantees she'll get on TV for free, it's her last desperate hope of knocking the nomination out of his grasp, and if that doesn't succeed it at least weakens him for November so McCain can win the presidency and Hillary can come back in 2012 with an "I-told-you-so" campaign against a 76-year-old incumbent still hopelessly bogged down in Iraq. Despicable.

You Obama supporters (at least ones on this blog) are a mean-spirited, sanctimonious and hypocritical bunch. Keep up the nasty attacks against the Clintons and her supporters and you've ensured a McCain win in the general election. I never thought I would say this but these so-called Obama supporters are worst than the Republican attack machine. And I never thought I would say this but for the first time I am seriously considering abstain from voting should Obama win the primary. This is not a threat - this is a reflection of how disgusted I am with the election and with the Obama camp in general.

CNN, please publish this so Mr. Obama and his supporters and the high profile, male-dominated surrogates know the anger and resentment among the Clinton supporters. Perhaps, the Obama camp doesn't care and believes Obama can win without the support the other half of the Democratic Party.

Let the people vote on the issues they believe in instead of brainwashing them with nonstop TV ads and asking them for money 10 times a day. For the past few weeks I get 10 emails from the Obama camp. My husband is unemployed and he wants me to donate to his "movement'? From what I see he seems to have enough. REALLY, THE disorganized Clinton campaign is a major argument
not to consider her for President.

I do not know what criteria she used to select her staff, but it seems
that the main criteria were Friendship and Gender, instead qualification.

This here is a typical example. Some staffers though that it would be
harmful to admit that she was not able to raise more tan 50% as OBAMA, then saw the reaction of the Media as there was no explanation of the release delay other than bad news and then, probably other staffers or herself decided to release the amont.

PROBABLY THE DELAY OF THE TAX RETURNS HAS THE SAME
