Barack Obama's campaign announced a March haul of more than $40 million, raised from more than 442,000 donors. There were more than 218,000 first-time donors, and the average contribution level was $96.
The figure is not official until the campaign submits paperwork with the Federal Election Commission. The official deadline for March paperwork to be filed is April 20.
The Obama campaign released the announcement the moment the daily Clinton campaign conference call began.

BARACK OBAMA 2008 AND 2012
LONG LIVE OBAMA
Well it makes sense, if you have money to invest then would you not invest it in the best and most profitable commodity or enterprise?
Obama is a good return for your money!!!
Americans far and wide are showing their dissatisfaction with Hillary Clinton. She should drop out now and allow the Dems to unify behind Senator Obama.
CNN – this is not a sporting event, we don't need an inning by inning report on hits, runs, errors, etc (money raised).
Amazing to say the least.
Cha Ching!!! Good for you Barack!!! I donated as much as was possibly allowed!!! Congratulations!!!!!
Wow... thanks for the support for McCain!!! This is great news! Obama can never beat him... go democrats (lol)!!!!
Wasn't there supposed to be some backlash over the crazy pastor in Chicago?
I guess Americans are more concerned about the crazy and tragic war that Hillary Clinton authorized Bush to pursue.
Oprah and oil money
If people wanted to help the economy, they spend that money at the store. We must not be as bad off as we think?
Sure would be nice is this money could be raised for campaining against Mc walking Cane.
Hillary.... um Hillary...... HILLARY He can win HE WILL WIN
Let's unite around our candidate.
YES HE CAN!!!!
Yes we can! Democrats will win in the fall.
And the beat goes on, the Clintons are on an ego trip, they are trying to raise money from Americans to cover their deficit. This trip is about to be over.
im obama to the end now baby
Gosh, how rude! Couldn't he wait for CNN to get their pants back on after Hillary's conference call? How pathetic.
YEAH. keep the donations rolling I just sent $100.00
Good for Him!
I think he should loan some money to Hillary so she can pay her bills/healthcare and stop reusing old campaign commercials. Can't run the country if you can't pay your bills!!!!!!
get rich or die lying
Impressive. The momentum continues to build
Congrats to the Obama campaign...All the bills were paid, no outstanding debt, no need to brorrow from the girls college fund.
WOW, this is how a campaign is suppose to be run..... thanks for the good example. :)
OBAMA 08 AND BEYOND........................
Good for him , but I am still not voting for him . New poll in PA said 40% of Clinton supporters would not vote for Obama in Nov. He is not going win.
Way to go, fellow Obama supporters!!
