Obama said Wednesday he wants Gore for his administration.
Obama said Wednesday he wants Gore for his administration.

(CNN) - Al Gore has a spot in a potential Barack Obama administration, the Illinois senator said Wednesday.

Asked at a campaign event if he'd consider Gore for his cabinet, Obama immediately said he would.

" I will make a commitment that Al Gore will be at the table and play a central part in us figuring out how we solve this [climate change] problem," Obama said.

Obama also said he talks with the former vice president on a "regular basis," and often consults with him on climate change issues.

Could Gore serve alongside Bill Clinton in an Obama administration? Last November, the Illinois senator said he'd offer the former president a job "in a second."

"There are few more talented people [than Clinton]," Obama said then.

Peter Paul vs Hillary....

Why isn't this civil case, getting any press? HRC, Bill and little HRC are scheduled to go to court in November. Maybe she's thinking....

If I become the President, I can't be charged.....hmmm.....

Everyone needs to go to YouTube and type in "Paul vs Hillary" – it's a full-length video, with at least 13-16 clips.

Now that's some SCARY stuff!

Question   April 2nd, 2008 5:59 pm ET

The experience thing is killing me! How does one gain experience to become President? Is there a course you take? Or maybe a book you read? Truth is there is nothing you can do to prepare for the Presidency; I think 9/11 proved that. Also, look at what the experienced people have done to this country! I say we give the new person a crack at the job!

Obama has been saying from the get-go that he is all about change.

So why would he want an over-the-hill, aging and stagnated cracker like Gore?

Get someone fresh and new. Gore is old school.

PolySci   April 2nd, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Since Global Warming isn't viable, we now have climate change as another way to reach into taxpayers pockets. Obama look up the facts and the costs that would produce no measurable impact

Jeff   April 2nd, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Message to Vigo. Don't all people running for office do the same thing? Sometimes the comments to these postings clearly show how uneducated the responders are. What is Obama supposed to do? Surround himself with the dumbest people? I suppose you'd then vote for him? People, come on!!! Al Gore happens to be a politician who's been involved with climate change issues for years now. The guy won an Oscar award for crying out loud. (Although, he wasn't my choice for the Oscar).

So Vig, what better choice is there on that particular issue? If this is how most citizens are making their decisions on whom to elect, God help us.

Why is Obama arrogant? He was just answering a question. He did not even say any thing definite. He said, "he'd consider".

Read people, Read !!. Unless you (those who are criticizing Obama) do not know how to read. Hmm.. aren't you the same group who will be voting for McCain when Obama wins or moving to Canada. I must say..that is very intelligent . (sarcasm)

Gore wont endorse obama, so now Obama tries to connect his name to him without his permission.

I really hope Gore comes out and politely declines with a bemused grin on his face.

It would serve Obama right for trying to cash in on his influence.

How can people actually be leaving comments about Obama being a SLIMEBALL when Hillary is the one tearing the Democratic party apart with her tactics? Hilary is a 50%+1 type of candidate... she doesn't care about the democratic election process, she will do anything to win this election. It's clear that America wants Obama, and America WILL have Obama. Hilary, for the sake of our country, go home.

Al Gore should be THEDEMOCRAT'S CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT OF THE USA.
Sorry to say folks, but, Obama looks a lot like being underprepared, but yeah: he's got the looks and also the nice words. And that's it?
Is that enough?

Gerardo in Los Angeles   April 2nd, 2008 5:53 pm ET

Any surprise here really? Gore should be part of the next administration if the president is a Democrat. For all that was said about Gore 8 years back I think few disagree that we would probably be better today if he had been elected, at the very least he has gained praise and distinction while president Bush has become a symbol for everything wrong with America today. Most likely, Gore will eventually support Obama, there is too much bad blood with the Clintons and he really owes them nothing.

Dennis in Spokane   April 2nd, 2008 5:53 pm ET

Gore would be great as head of the EPA and even better if he was given the clout to really get the DOJ after repeat offenders.

Jeremy   April 2nd, 2008 5:53 pm ET

Do something about global warming? What global warming? We are at the end of the coldest winter in recorded history. Of course Al Gore and the media are silent on this little fact.

Obama lies and lies and more lies...Obama couldn't run on experience because he doesn't have any and he is great about talking about change (The best he has been offering is new idea) but he have not have the courage to do what is necessary to make it happen. He is on the senator floor for three years now so what has he accomplished? What change? Obama will not win, because we will make sure he doesn't.

McCain 08

" I will make a commitment that Al Gore will be at the table and play a central part in us figuring out how we solve this [climate change] problem," Obama said."

Where does it say Obama wants Gore to be his VP??

For goodness sake!!!
Get it right people!!

Mike in Houston   April 2nd, 2008 5:53 pm ET

Al Gore in an Obama administration. Mr. Gore is just a mouthpiece for a cause that has not yet been scientifically validated. He himself doesn't really understand it (see him live if you doubt).

ellen   April 2nd, 2008 5:52 pm ET

Obama is ridiculously naive. Would it not go without question that any president would offer Al Gore an honorary seat at any table to discuss global warming?? Duh?? Obama reminds me of a middle school child choosing his team to play kickball. Where are the sophisticated and intellectual qualities as well as just plain common sense in this candidate? Also, where is Michelle Obama? I have not seen or heard from her for weeks.

No Obama!   April 2nd, 2008 5:52 pm ET

jo   April 2nd, 2008 5:51 pm ET

For those of you that think it's an insult to Gore...

Ummm...He was on the top of the ticket at one time BUT COULDN'T GET ELECTED.

He has done a lot of research and work on the climate and you have to give him kudos for it. If you don't think anything is wrong with the planet then that is your choice but don't get arrogant and act like you know more.

What science books have any of you ever read? What do you know about the planet and climate more than experts do that back Gore's findings?

These blogs I swear are always filled with a bunch of pig-headed know-it-all Americans.

Gore should be honored to be sought after by Obama. He is probably thinking about endorsing him too. You know he was put through hell dealing with the Clintons.

linda   April 2nd, 2008 5:51 pm ET

I think Obama has been given so much more positive television coverage than Hillary. Much more time and I wonder why? Could it be corporate America? Do they feel it would be easier for McCain to win against Obama? America did well when Hillary's husband was President, I think she would do the same. What is it we really don't know about Obama?

Gore has been VP before. Why would Gore care to be VP again? OB's words are used to feed fools only, … Most americans are clever than that…

-joeh

joeh, it's not Obama's words that are feeding the fool's, it's the fool's not hearing those words correctly that are feeding themselves. He never said VP, joeh. You're right, most American's are clever, but you're not one of them.

Beth Barbee   April 2nd, 2008 5:50 pm ET

I'm amazed reading all of the responses. In the article i saw i saw no specific mention of Gore as a potential VP, merely as someone who would be a welcome addition to an Obama administration. Although i agree we wouldn't benefit from an entire administration filled with former political insiders, a strong, smart and effective leader always hires to complement his strengths, not duplicate them. There is nothing wrong with admiring traits and knowledge in others and expressing a desire to include that talent on your team. for the past 8 years GWB has done nothing but surround himself with anyone who will tell him what he wants to hear and support him at all costs. Barack has openly said he wants people around him who will question and challenge so that the BEST solutions are put on the table. not just his.

Arthur-Texas   April 2nd, 2008 5:50 pm ET

Obama must not be very secure of the way his campaign is going if he keeps begging Gore for his endorsement.
I do not think the former vp will endorse a person who has a spiritual mentor that hates white people and the u.s.

Susan MO   April 2nd, 2008 5:50 pm ET

We are not for Obama anymore. Now for CLINTON. Sure, he would like to have Gore with him, because he ( Obama ) lacks experience. And what we have seen, is he likes being 'in the news a little too much'. Somewhat 'star struck'. Not good for a president,

Murphy in Texas   April 2nd, 2008 5:49 pm ET

This fight is getting way too nasty on both sides. The candidates don't need to spew venom at eachother anymore....we are doing it for them. We are buying into every spin that the media gives this election. Their ratings depend on getting us all stirred up over absolutely nothing!!! No one even seems to pay attention to their candidates plans or ideas for this country. You're all wasting time calling them liars or making fun of issues like race or gender....What is wrong with you people????? Lets keep to the subject matter and let the debates continue in an adult like manner. I support Hillary but I would never dream of bashing Obama or any supporters that believe in him. I think he's a good man but I prefer her...this does not make me an idiot. This makes me lucky to live in a country where I have a choice.

Unhappy and Happy   April 2nd, 2008 5:48 pm ET

I think it would be great to have Gore handling environmental issues, but if he gets anywhere close to being a Vice President, then Obama would lose many Republican votes, like mine. His vice presidency candidate needs to be a moderate; like most Republicans view Obama.

I have written several pro-Hillary posts today, and none has been deemed worthy by our esteemed pro-Obama CNN. The man lies and lies some more, but it's OK because he's a nice-looking, calm, MAN who must not be able to lead us astray. After all, he's got God and the good Rev. Wright advising him. I am getting ill reading about his lies on factcheck.org and then coming here to read the supporters. Wake up before it's too late.

Go for it Obama   April 2nd, 2008 5:47 pm ET

I am a Clinton supporter but now its too little too late for her. There is no possible way she can win now. I will support Obama if he wins which I'm positive he will. Al Gore would be a great choice for Obama. Al Gore is very experienced and Obama can bring out change. A combination of the two would be unstoppable. I say Obama if u want Gore then take him. The last person I want in the White House is another Bush like McCain. I prefer Clinton over Obama but I'd rather have Obama than another Bush.

I get annoyed when a sensible person with a brain says Hillary can win the whitehouse. Hillary takes women for granted and she is playing the gender card all the time. She keeps saying women should vote for her because she is a woman. Well give me a break! At least barack does not play the race card and he knows what he is talking about. I like the idea of Gore in the administration. Americans, please wake up, stop creating the Bush/Clinton dynasty and vote for Barack Obama. He is the only chance that we have to salvage our already bad image in the world.

There was a trick to whoever asked that question in his campaign. Somebody here posted that if Obama claims that we are done with old politics, then picking Gore in his cabinet is another flip-flop he is so used to doing all throughout this race.
You will see his inconsistencies in this race as you get to know him more.
On another note, Obama thinks that if he mentions Gore in his campaign, it will sell to people who always rooted for Gore.
I agree with the others- it is arrogance.

What gives Obama the right to be talking about a VP? Why don't you ask Sen. Clinton who she would choose? CNN, when Clinton wins the nomination, you will all look like idiots. I have written many e-mails to CNN, but not one has shown up on "comments". You and your reporters are disgusting. So anti Clinton, I hope people are smart enough to see what's going on all over that country. Why didn't CNN show Wright controversy in January?? They, like all other media, tried to cover up for Obama. He is scary to even be trying to run for President. He and his cronies have been throwing the kitchen sink at Clinton. Report on that.

Liam   April 2nd, 2008 5:42 pm ET

Is the media afraid that if that fact is exposed, Sen. Obama "may" lose a large voter base? Let's ask our savior Mr. Gore what he thinks!

Why is this a surprise? It seemed obvious that Gore would become head of the EPA (which is one of the Cabinet level administrative positions and is the only one directly related to the environment). His environmental advocacy and prior government experience would make him ideally suited for the position.

I have no doubt that Hillary would also offer Gore the job if elected. People are over analyzing this. Gore IS the best person for the job, so obviously Obama (and most likely Clinton) would give it to him. Yes, as in all things there is a political angle, but that is not what is driving the decision.

People should read what Obama said.
He did not suggest the VP spot for Gore. He said he would gladly include him in his administration. THAT means he would offer him something appropriate to his interests in the enviroment and dealing with global warming etc. It could mean a cabinet post or as heading a special federal initiative or in charge of a Federal agency or as a special advisor to the President etc etc etc. This is a sign of respect for Gore and openness to his message on global warming.
This is obviously a response to a question specifically asking him about whether Gore could play a role in the administration.
Hopefully sneer-posters can stick to the subject for their comments.

Common Sense   April 2nd, 2008 5:31 pm ET

Hillary and republicans please stick to the issue! He never said VP and he's not arrogant enough to say he thought the election would be over by super tuesday. Please give me a break, he's a very humble and gracious man. He really could have destroyed Hillary by now.

veronica lynne   April 2nd, 2008 5:31 pm ET

This is truly a joke! The highly qualified Al Gore needs to serve UNDER this inexperienced Senator?? I don't think so Obama.

Danny-SanJose-CA   April 2nd, 2008 5:30 pm ET

Obama is totally blank, Obama 08 will lead America to worst than Bush. Go Obama 08

Steve   April 2nd, 2008 5:30 pm ET

What we need is Gore to be President and Obama to be his private Secretary. Then he might learn something instead of always about good thing others say.

Matthew   April 2nd, 2008 5:30 pm ET

Who cares who he would consider as part of his cabinet??? Maybe he'll get rev Wright to! Obama is an inexperienced racist America hater with NO original thoughts or ideas. If he wins, America loses.

Rob   April 2nd, 2008 5:30 pm ET

As a foreign observer, the issue of climate change is the most important aspect of this race for me, because America must take a lead on the issue for anything to be accomplished.

I am glad to hear that Al Gore will be offered a role in an Obama administration and I would hope that Hillary Clinton and John McCain (who both talk about combating climate change) would do something similar if either of them become president.

Joyce in Florida   April 2nd, 2008 5:30 pm ET

NObama, right on with your comment. There is no way that Al Gore will ever do this. He is way too smart for that. Al Gore does not need Senator Obama for anything. He is doing perfectly well all by himself.

Just the arrogance of Obama is truly amazing. He is so stuck on himself it is really sickening. This man is NOT PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL.

As NObama said, it is time for John Edwards and Al Gore to endorse Hillary Clinton. Then, maybe Obamarama will finally shut up for once.

Let's go Pennsylvania, Indiana, North Carolina and beyond and make Hillary Clinton our nominee for President. She is the most qualified, intelligent, and has the experience to turn our country around.

GO HILLARY 08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pete   April 2nd, 2008 5:29 pm ET

Obama has great foresight. That's what leadership is all about. Hillary is good looking at focus groups, polls, and then shamelessly pandering. She's a weak candidate and can only ride ole' Slick's coattails for so long!

Seriously, if she was any sort of leader, most of us wouldn't know who Obama is.
But since we do – TEXANS FOR OBAMA!

Thanks Hill!

Susan in San Francisco   April 2nd, 2008 5:28 pm ET

Way to go! I have been waiting for Al Gore to enter the picture. Obama is a very smart man. He will pick the brightest people to be part of his team when he is PRESIDENT. Now, how about John Edwards and Bill Richardson? They need places in the Obama administration. I can't wait until 1-20-09 when we get a CLEAN slate!

Ben, MD   April 2nd, 2008 5:28 pm ET

I'm afraid that I think Gore will refuse almost any job, especially VP. He's just in another field. I wish he endorses Obama so the two can work together in two different capacities to save the planet.

Obama '08

jane   April 2nd, 2008 5:28 pm ET

Sounds as though Senator Obama is taking possession of the presidency already. In reality, I would imagine that both he and Senator Clinton would accept counsel from Al Gore on environmental matters. But this makes headlines ... as though Obama's hasn't gotten enough of a free ride from the media already.

RobJohnson   April 2nd, 2008 5:28 pm ET

What was Obama supposed to say? "No way! I wouldn't touch that hack Gore with a ten foot pole!"

Nobody wanted Gore to run for President more than I did. If he had, he would be the nominee today and we'd all be talking about what a cinch it would be that he will beat McCain in November.

Unfortunately for America, Gore didn't choose that path. I think it's a shame he didn't, but don't blame Obama if Gore made a bad choice.

Any President, be it Obama, Clinton or McCain, should be honored to have Al Gore serve as head of the EPA, or Secretary of the Interior, to pick two good examples.

Dan, Idaho Falls, Idaho   April 2nd, 2008 5:28 pm ET

PSSSSSSSSS – CNN – you may want to explain in this article what a Cabinet post is for your readers. Judging by some of these comments, people might not be sure you aren't talking about some sort of furniture Obama is interested in.

John   April 2nd, 2008 5:27 pm ET

sivananthi....Hillary didn't like Gore, and he & Tipper dispised her...what makes you think he was going to endorse her?

Anyone but Obamination   April 2nd, 2008 5:27 pm ET

Obama has the audacity to hope, Gore would consider being on a ticket with him. In second place, (LMAO) Obama is so stupid, he didn't even leave his name on the ballot in Michigan, wised up for Florida after he saw Hillary was smart to leave hers on in Michigan. He then campaigned for the voters in Michigan to vote uncommitted if they wanted to vote for him. What a loser, lies about Pharmaceutical contributers, lies about big oil, lies about his preacher, lies about Rezko. His lies out number Hillarys, big time. Why can't people see him for what he is, a waste of skin.

miles blair   April 2nd, 2008 5:27 pm ET

So mush hate and anger from both sides. so sad!!! clinton supporters say they will vote for Mccain. obamas side says the same if there person is not the chosen one. Too bad Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" is just a cycle of the earth. It's easy for anybody to make a small change look big when you change the scale of your chart.

political posteuring on BO's part! WHatever!

Phoenix   April 2nd, 2008 5:25 pm ET

Gosh, I wonder how many cabinet "or higher" spots Obama has been promising. All these pictures of him with various endorsers look like they just said nod, nod, wink, wink. Except Gore doesn't seem to be in this picture. Gore has money, a cause, everything he needs whether you agree with him or not–what can Obama offer him?

Debra   April 2nd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

Obama insults Al Gore!

Brendan   April 2nd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

Hmm, maybe he should offer him Secretary of Energy? Secretary of the Interior? National Park Service? I imagine most of those administrations have Bush's oil friends in them. Could be a good change of pace for the sake of the environment.

Jessica   April 2nd, 2008 5:23 pm ET

Wow, he is already picking his cabinet! What is next? Color schemes for his White House bedroom?
Of course he wants Gore, anything to make him look better. It isn't like anyone has come out and said they don't want Gore. And I wonder if that position for Bill will still be available at the end of all this if Obama suceeds?
And I have yet to hear Gore endorse him. I can say I want Sandra Day O'Connor and George Clooney in my cabinet, but it doesn't mean anything either!

kiki   April 2nd, 2008 5:23 pm ET

This is ridiculous. How arrogant can you be Obama!!

Ali   April 2nd, 2008 5:22 pm ET

Luke my dear,i hope you are reading this.Obama was answering a simple question and gave his sincere answer. And talking about him saying any thing to win Gore`s endorsement, have you been listening to the Clintons? Tell me;who said the pledged delegates are not required to stick to their commitments?Whose supporter went all that low to call someone 'judas'? wake up.

John   April 2nd, 2008 5:22 pm ET

Chill out everyone...Obama was ASKED a question by a woman that was in the audience during a campaign rally. He answered it, just because some of you don't like his answer, you whine like babies....

Grow up!!

Jen DFW   April 2nd, 2008 5:21 pm ET

Another example how Obama says what he thinks you want to hear.... There are three candidates but the women is the only one talking about a plan. GO HILL

Jeff in AL   April 2nd, 2008 5:20 pm ET

Why would Gore want to be on his cabinet? He's been VP before so I doubt he would want that role again. Seems there is some other motive behind these words. Not sure what it is but I don't trust Obama. Where is Mechelle these days?

phenixrising   April 2nd, 2008 5:18 pm ET

This is good news! I love Al Gore!

Doesn't Everybody?   April 2nd, 2008 5:18 pm ET

I'm sure everybody would be glad to have Gore on thier team, he is a very smart, very experienced politician, but I doubt Gore wants back into politics, he can do more out of it I believe.

Ralph   April 2nd, 2008 5:18 pm ET

When Hillary is chosen as the noiminee at the convention, she should ask John Edwards to be her VP.At least he has brains, Obama doesn't. President Gore has already been there, and I don't think he would go there again. Watch as Obama cries when Hillary ,the best is chosen.

Sharon   April 2nd, 2008 5:17 pm ET

GO HILLARY!!!! Anyone see the NEW Quinnepiac POLLS.....No story from the media?????
HILLARY BEATS McCAIN NATIONALLY IN FLORIDA, PENNSYLVANIA AND OHIO!!!!!!!!!!!!! By GOOD amounts!!!!! McCAIN BEATS BO IN FL!!!!!!!!!
WHOO HOO!!!

Kyle   April 2nd, 2008 5:17 pm ET

Who said anything about Gore being his VP? Read the story first, then comment. And to the person who said Obama should be under Gore: unfortunately Gore isn't on the ticket, so why shouldn't he be utilized in some other way? And as for Obama saying anything to get elected... *cough*Bosnia*cough*. I don't understand why we all can't come together and realize that every candidate has a darker, more devious side. But some are much worse than others.

Mildred   April 2nd, 2008 5:17 pm ET

Go Alcore, The clintons think everyone owes them. No one wants 4yrs of Clintons in the White House, Because Bill owes her something by promising her a gate to the white house by calling in favors with his friends. So if any more indorsement are out there ,go with your own judgement not the Clinton machine. They already left enough stains on the White House. Lets start fresh.

Nobillary Andobama   April 2nd, 2008 5:17 pm ET

Foolish sheep.

why would BHO want Al Gore the VP of Clinton with 8 years of experience in the white house to be in his cabinet. Oh just global warming...Obaba u r against experience go get Oprah, Wright and 50 cents for your cabinet

Gorefan   April 2nd, 2008 5:16 pm ET

Did anyone read the article? Obama was asked if he would "consider Gore for his cabinet". What was he suppose to say? There is a big difference from Obama bring up the subject himself and simply answering a question.

liz   April 2nd, 2008 5:15 pm ET

This man will do and say anything just to get elected. I think he would also sell his soul just to get into the White House. How you people cannot see that this is just a slick jerk who would do anything to get there. I think all you Obama supporters will eventually get very disappointed if he gets elected. I give him about 1 year before everybody gets fedup of him maybe not even that long. He is even spending 3 x what Hillary is spending in advertising and all this is wsted money. I wonder who else he has promised positions to? I am sure alot of people are going to really find out that what said in his campaign promises will not happen.

Hillary keep on with your campaign because I know you can pull this off.

RFB   April 2nd, 2008 5:15 pm ET

Don't be so obvious obama, you think this is going to cinch the nomination for you. Good grief you are so transparent it is scarey. Is this supposed to conter Elizabeth Edwards endorsement of Hillary's health plan. Sad Sad little man.

Floridian   April 2nd, 2008 5:14 pm ET

This is hysterical!

Everyone here is talking about how horrible Obama is for saying something nice about Bill Clinton and something else nice about Al Gore. The comment about Bill sounded respectful to me – he said there are "few more talented people" than Bill Clinton?

How can you people turn this into arrogance and insult? What was Obama supposed to say – "Al Gore sucks and I wouldn't want him near my cabinet even though I care about the environment?" Get a life people.

bigben   April 2nd, 2008 5:14 pm ET

Why Gore is more qualified then obama

John Figueroa, PA   April 2nd, 2008 5:14 pm ET

I wouldn't be surprised if Al Gore endorsed Obama over Hillary, his job was more like 3# once you add the HIllary factor. I also wouldn't be surprised if they kick the Clintons off the democratic party, because Hillary is in no mood to give up, just like Huckabee... Sigh, makes you want to vote Independent.

Brandon   April 2nd, 2008 5:14 pm ET

Do people actually read these articles before they respond? It seems like in most comments that the details of the article are completely ignored in the views of the poster. It is important in this election that we pay attention to what is actually going on, and not be clouded by our partisanship.

Bradd Anderson, Columbia, MO   April 2nd, 2008 5:13 pm ET

Gore would be a great president or VP, but I suspect this quote is being taken out of context by the reporter. Gore has been clear that he's not interested in the presidency, much less the VP role, and Obama knows that.

Obama will make a good president, but wouldn't Hillary make a great Secretary of Health & Human Services??

gerard morei   April 2nd, 2008 5:12 pm ET

Al Gore is a real honest American Citizen. Very soon he will endorse Hillary Clinton for President, because he knows she have experience, and also lived inside the White House for 8 years. Hillary and Gore are pro the same issues.
Hillary for President 2008!!!!

Barb   April 2nd, 2008 5:12 pm ET

Would like to know why Al Gore did not have President Bill Clinton out campaigning for him when he was running for president.

His absence and endorsement was noted by many. Was it the Monica issue and that Mr. Gore was a family man that did not approve of Bill's affairs? Was it a policy issue? Was it to distance himself from a possible impeachment?

What is the real reason? Mr. Gore please help the voters to know the man you worked for better.

Paris   April 2nd, 2008 5:12 pm ET

What an opportunist this guy is.
I can’t wait for America to see Obama’s true face.

Mark, Gainesville, VA   April 2nd, 2008 5:10 pm ET

I think Senator Edwards and former Vice President Gore both agree the Clinton is most qualified, but they do not wish to stir up more trouble by announcing support for Clinton. Their silence, when many Obama supporters are pressing through the media for Clinton to step aside, is telling. What would happen to Democratic players such as Pelsoi and Dean if both Edwards and Gore come out endorsing Clinton. I think it would shake them up and the nomination processs up a lot. It may be the shot in the arm this process needs. Maybe then we will see Michigan and Florida treated fairly. By fairly I mean a true representation of the these States' voters wishes, not some made up solution.

Rob   April 2nd, 2008 5:10 pm ET

What is wrong with you people? Who wouldn't want someone who is internationally recognized as a credible source on climate change, one that many folks feel like they can believe, to be part of their group to deal with the issue?
Its like saying, you don't want Lebron on your team, cause you don't like Cleveland.
Sometimes I read this stuff and I think it wouldn't matter who is in the white house if the average american citizen were like some of these posters. Madness, madness.

d   April 2nd, 2008 5:10 pm ET

Omg...........just what this country needs. Gore sitting on the sidelines along with Obama. We WILL be bankrupt while these two fill their own pockets on the "global warming scare tactics". I am sorry, but as it has been reported, Gore shot down hundreds of scientists with claims that disapproved Gore's thinking. Now we have this. By the way, I do not support any of the main candidates.

Indie CA   April 2nd, 2008 5:09 pm ET

This is why this country is in the situation it's in, look at you people. VP, GO Hillary... BLAH! Can't you read, can't you understand the advantage of consulting elders of all parties, and others to form precise plan and decision? It's not a ploy, it's not for votes, get a grip!
I don’t' even support Barack... some of you can't even spell it right!

joseph   April 2nd, 2008 5:09 pm ET

i don't care who he choose, this country need good head with big idea. To make this clear, i do not think Obama is asking Al Gore fir VP, but a memeber of his team, which is not an insult, but a privilage.

RT   April 2nd, 2008 5:09 pm ET

HE'S TALKING ABOUT GORE SERVING ON THE CABINET TO TACKLE ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES...

NOT ABOUT GORE BEING VICE-PRESIDENT!!!

ITS OBVIOUS ALL YOU "VP" POSTERS DIDN'T READ THE ARTICLE!!!

HP Boston   April 2nd, 2008 5:09 pm ET

As a former Clinton supporter, I have to admit Obama is a little confused but I am sure he will find the WRIGHT way!

Gore has no time for politics now, he is on an important mission, informing the world of Global warming and all it's dangers.

Cosmo   April 2nd, 2008 5:09 pm ET

Why not? Gore has sold the world one of the biggest lies ever told, and if he gets Obama elected, he will have sold America the second biggest lie ever told.

KCMO   April 2nd, 2008 5:07 pm ET

Doesn't matter if Obama is Junior to anyone ... he's still getting more votes than anyone has before!

Besides, remember people (americans have such terrible memories ...) that JFK was also a Soph (or Jr?) senator who beat out the then Vice President.

LIz from Pittsburg and the other ... read up on your history before you make such silly and uninformed comments! Geeez.

Chris from San Antonio   April 2nd, 2008 5:07 pm ET

And if Hillary said she wanted Gore in her cabinet?

You Hillary Supporters would be foaming at the mouth to shove it in Obama's face. Pathetic how desperate you've become.

yvonne   April 2nd, 2008 5:06 pm ET

I am so tired of hearing others say things like he will do anything just for endorsement. Would you be saying the same thing if Hillary was approached with the same question. Why don't most of you just admit that you can't see this Country having a Black man for president . But you know what would really make some of you undercover racist cringe. If he does win the Presidency, and Richardson the only hispanic Senator becomes his Vice-President. Now swallow that pill

JD   April 2nd, 2008 5:06 pm ET

Obama sympathisers, let them talk. Obama will win in November. If God is on your side, who can be against you? I think Obama and Clinton will mend fences sooner than we think, and we will have them both. Chill out guys. We will as a united team win this thing, much to Sen.Clinton's delight, because she will be a part of the team. We love them both, no force and fight. Obama is our next President, with Clinton on his side.
JD

Angela D   April 2nd, 2008 5:06 pm ET

I love watching all the Hillhaters come out spitting and foaming at the mouth after yet again NOT READING the fine print so to speak.

I'll give them a break though considering Obama got another SD endorsement, is closing that "huge" gap in PA, may have had upwards of 30M plus donated to his campaign by his faithful and hardworking supporters, all topped off by the FACT that he did win TX afterall (since it's about the delegates right?)

Lemon sucking is to be expected when all your savior can do is regurgitate another 3:00 a.m. but still hasn't released those tax records. LOL

Robert in NE   April 2nd, 2008 5:05 pm ET

Please people, enough with the arrogant comments, don't you think we have had enough arrogant comments from Hillary lately.

Barack is playing nice with Gore, of course, he won't be in the his Cabinet!

Barack has this baby locked up. For those of you still on cloud nine, Hillary only gets a percentage of the delegates not all of them, do the math!! HRC would have to win 75-80% of the popular vote just to catch him. HRC supporters have been duped into a losing cause, talk about a pipe dream, a candidate with the most delegates never goes to the convention and loses, unless you live in a communist country!!

Wake up and smell the coffee, the superdelegates will put this to bed on July 1. After HRC loses a couple more primaries, put a fork in her, she's done.

If HRC was ready on Day 1, she wouldn't have lost 30 out of 40 primaries. Her arrogance finally caught up to her.

To win the GE, the little states count too!

HRC says she is now Rocky, she has made a mockery of the political process. As a long standing Democratic, a son of a union worker, HRC take your ball and go home! The game is over and you lost fair and square!!

Obama 08

Gore is a Nobel Prize winner! He did the VP thing, he goes up, not down with you dumbo!

Sith Lord   April 2nd, 2008 5:04 pm ET

This guy relies on hype for his campaign, Clinton relies on whining for her campaign, McBain seems like he's going to continue the policies of Bush...

all 3 knuckleheads... it's sad nobody who actually cares can ever get into the position for the job and cleanup America and not only the economy, but put money towards helping the homeless and not prolonging a war which has exhausted our soldiers. All these politicians do is talkup what people want to hear and people enjoy it like premium candy. It's pathetic! McBain is going to defeat whoever comes out of the Dem side, which is without a doubt Obama. The only pleasure in that will be Obama stumbling in a debate when he has to answer questions rather than dodge them.

Rory   April 2nd, 2008 5:03 pm ET

I don't know where people are getting the idea of Gore for VP – it wasn't anywhere in the article. Gore would be great in anybody's cabinet. Hillary would say the exact same thing. Any Democrat running would absolutely have to consider Gore in the cabinet. I don't see how this makes Obama arrogant or 'star struck'...

Dane   April 2nd, 2008 5:03 pm ET

This would be an awesome addition to an Obama future administration. Who better to consult the president on the issue of climate change than a man who has dedicated a significant portion of his life to the study.
OBAMA 08

Jennifer   April 2nd, 2008 5:03 pm ET

Obama was asked a question, and he answered it. He didn't just say this out of the blue to try to "suck up" to Gore. Again, since the Clintonites probably won't get it, HE WAS ASKED A DIRECT QUESTION, SO HE ANSWERED IT!

Kinda how Clinton, after saying she was going to avoid commenting on Wright, decided to comment when she was ASKED a direct question at a rally. Hmmmm?

OBAMA 08

jay, FL   April 2nd, 2008 5:03 pm ET

For those who say "Obama will say anything..." need to take a long hard look/ listen to their fave candidate...actually it won't even take THAT long! Hillary would sell her soul for this nomination. say anything and probably do anything. Be fair, honest, and realistic. We all know who is more likely to lie...but i guess "that depends on what ur definition of 'is' is..."

James, Houston, TX.   April 2nd, 2008 5:03 pm ET

He's not talking about making Gore his V.P. He is talking about having him in his cabinet.

Canuk   April 2nd, 2008 5:02 pm ET

In the game of politics, getting support from influential people is smart.

Beats using fictional characters (HRC and Rocky) will she chant Adrian when she wins, or maybe she will remember that she was not in the movie at all.

It is not how long a person serves there country while in government that makes them a great leader it is how there character will react to an event and the will of the people that determines it.

Having another old 'set in there ways' person that will react like Bush will leave everyone in the state that the US is seeing right now. So JM thanks for fighting for the country but we need change and a non cold war mentality to strengthen the US

Andrew B   April 2nd, 2008 5:02 pm ET

Although Gore was Clinton's VP for 8 years, it's interesting he still hasn't come out to endorse Hillary yet. Goes to show that even their "friends" don't like the Clintons. I've decided to vote for Obama since even Gore won't go Clinton. He must know something I don't (in addition to the sleazy hate-filled campaign she's been running).

I don't think so, probably Secretary of (Renewable)Energy or something like that-

i advise that you go read some scientific papers, instead of what the oil industry tells you. indeed, perhaps attending high school would be of benefit to you. the world is getting warmer, with or without human input, yes. however, because of human(largely US, chinese and european) carbon dioxide emissions from cars and power plants and such, the heating process is taking place 90 times faster and will result in a global temperature rise almost 300% greater than any previous rise. and thats if we stopped all global carbon emissions TOMORROW.

stop being a naive pseudo-christian, right-wing, NRA extolling waste of oxygen, grow up, and smell the CO2

Do people read anymore? He did not say he wants Gore for VP. He said that he would have him as apart of his "CABINET" and that he would have him handle issues dealing with the climate. Maybe if people read into the facts and not the hype our country would be able to function better. Reading is fundamental.

Al Gore is practically a rockstar. What makes Obama think Gore would play second fiddle to someone younger and less experienced and qualified than he is? Obama is delusional.

jorge lopez   April 2nd, 2008 4:57 pm ET

My God thats why im not voting for Obama H. Baraka.... and by the way didn't Obama say that he wants new people in his cabinet....

Hillary or McCain....

Obama 2008 but not Gore in the ticket. I like Gore as defendant of Climate change that's it.

Seth   April 2nd, 2008 4:54 pm ET

Do you HRC people even read the actual story?

This isn't about a VP position. It is about a cabinet position.

And Obama didn't bring it up, someone specifically asked him if he would consider Gore for his cabinet.

RTFA, please.

Arrogant? What's more arrogant than being in second place and offering the front runner the VP position. Do you actually follow politics or just offer hate for Obama?

David   April 2nd, 2008 4:54 pm ET

What is wrong with that, if Obama is need to bring back a person who is able to work for the American people. Don't judge him because he is a rival to Hillary but as a person who will serve America.

Obama 2008

B.Brown   April 2nd, 2008 4:54 pm ET

More distortions about Obama. The good thing is that most people aren't idiots and can see through the sham. July 1, 2008 is your deadline, so enjoy it while you can.

vjh   April 2nd, 2008 4:53 pm ET

No, Obama is not being presumptious or arrogant. At a town-hall meeting in PA, Obama was asked if he would tap the former vice president for his Cabinet, or an even higher level office, to handle global warming. He answered yes re: Global Warming. He stated that since he has not won the nomination, he couldn't answer a VP candidate. Was he suppose to reply with "It's none of your business? " C'mon, if you are going to post, get your facts straight and stop reading in between the lines.

Al   April 2nd, 2008 4:52 pm ET

Al Gore's entire campaign is based on sensationalism and doomsday dogma, not on actual scientific evidence.

How stupid are you???

it   April 2nd, 2008 4:52 pm ET

Obama is truly ordained. He will prevail.

Alice   April 2nd, 2008 4:52 pm ET

PS – nobody suggested he pick Gore as his running mate. The question was whether he would ask him to join his Cabinet.

For those of you who do not know the difference, Cabinet members are folks like the Secretary of Energy and Secretary of the Interior – both posts that could use someone savvy about climate change.

GG   April 2nd, 2008 4:52 pm ET

Obama is just a joke..... He sold out his mentor, the Rev., for his political aspiration, and now he is is begging for Gore's endorsement. I keep saying it... America, be careful this man will sink us all!!!

Al   April 2nd, 2008 4:51 pm ET

Hillary should pack her bags and leave the country. And take all of her supporters with her!!

Concerned Voter   April 2nd, 2008 4:51 pm ET

I love this. Gore was not elected president by not having votes counted in Florida. Sound familiar Senator Obama? Do you really think Al Gore will go back into politics? He is a smashing success without you.

Kate   April 2nd, 2008 4:51 pm ET

It amazes me how so many readers (or one reader posting several times) can turn such a benign article into something so ugly.

No matter whom the next president is, I'm sure that Gore would be thrilled to be combating climate change as part of the new president's administration.

Liz   April 2nd, 2008 4:50 pm ET

To all the HRC supporters...doesn't it make you wonder what kind of people the Clintons really are, not the public personalities, when the people who know them best are not supporting her.

Austrian, Please don't be so naive about CLIMATE CHANGE. Do you know about Discovery Channels or something like that? Come on. You are the schmuck.!!!

People here are simply idiots...Obama wants Gore for cabinet. How is that a lie? Does it say Gore for VP? Exactly!!!! Stop being idiots and stop being Hilibots!!!

Boye   April 2nd, 2008 4:50 pm ET

It's pretty clear that most of the Clintonians don't bother to read articles that are in favor of Obama. They just whine based off the title of the article, if you had a little more that a kid's IQ, you would actually read the article and not provide blind criticism. We already know you HATE the man but please.

Alice   April 2nd, 2008 4:50 pm ET

Cool down! The man was ASKED if he would consider giving Gore a job in his administration. I am sure Hillary would give exactly the same answer is she were asked – YES, in a heartbeat.

DUH!

William   April 2nd, 2008 4:49 pm ET

Gore has said in the past that he will never serve in a cabinet level position in someone's administration. Obama is just trying to attract votes. It will never happen.

Bernhard / Germany   April 2nd, 2008 4:49 pm ET

Change we can believe in? I have great trust and respect to Barack Obamas ability to do a real change to your country, but mixing up change with the Clinton administration (Gore), now, is that a good idea, I don't think so. All i've heard and seen about Obama leads me to the conclusion that Barack would be well served in keeping himselves far away from the Clinton White House.

Adam   April 2nd, 2008 4:48 pm ET

I think the important note to take from here is that Barack Obama is looking for experts in their respective fields to help make positive change in this country. It's not about slamming Hillary or lying or being arrogant. It's about getting the best information available to proceed with decision making and to surround oneself with the top experts in their fields. It would be foolish to do otherwise.

Anything but Hillary Clinton   April 2nd, 2008 4:46 pm ET

De javu, i have been taking of this great idea, over the last couple of years. Its called true revelation!
OBAMA/Gore 08 – 016

Bailey   April 2nd, 2008 4:46 pm ET

I'm consistently amazed by the level of ignorance that is depicted in these comments. The man said he would offer him a place on his cabinet. Not make his vice president.

Having former vps, and presidents on your staff would be a good thing. Not that many would take him up on that offer(why go back to work?)

Bunch of fools.

Dan Rather   April 2nd, 2008 4:46 pm ET

Do you HillBilly people know how to read???

Obama never said anything about Gore being his VP! He was RESPONDING to a question given to him. He would have Gore in his cabinet dealing with global warming. Geez, you people need a life!

I promise you, if HillBilly would have said this, you people would be drooling at the thought and praising it as the second coming. Get a hold of yourselves!

What makes you think that it is HillBilly's birth given right to be our president? You people are making it sound like this is owed to her! Get over it! She blew it! She cant even handle her campain finances so what makes you think she can handle our's???

google paul vs. clinton. do your homework. jump on the train because with or without you, Obama will be in the White house. Deal with it.

gloria   April 2nd, 2008 4:45 pm ET

It is nice that Senator Obama and Mr. Gore are such good friends and they chat regularly. Offering him a post is way to premature. He has forgotten he has to win the Democratic Nomination first.

And he has far from done that.....

Also, what self respecting democrat wouldn't want Gore in their administration.

Larry   April 2nd, 2008 4:31 pm ET

What are you people talking about? There is nothing arrogant about that comment. It was complimentary. He's not naming him VP; in fact, HE'S NOT EVEN TALKING ABOUT BEING A VP. He's talking about bringing on Gore as an advisor. Who wouldn't want that?

It's time for him to be able to at least discuss what his administration might look like. After all, he's the frontrunner for one party's nomination.

Some of these comments are insane.

andrew   April 2nd, 2008 4:29 pm ET

I question the intelligence and reading comprehension of many of the people who have posted here already...Obama simply said he would gladly accept Gore as a member of his administration, not as the VP! There was no mention of an Obama/Gore ticket. Try reading the article before posting your wildly speculative and reactionary responses. Also, take some basic grammar lessons.

joeh   April 2nd, 2008 4:28 pm ET

Obama would SAY anything to get himself nominated.
What a CHANGE... by his words, words, and words....

Gore has been VP before. Why would Gore care to be VP again? OB's words are used to feed fools only, ... Most americans are clever than that...

Just to claify he did not say he wanted Gore for VP but would be honored to have him on his cabinet...and who wouldn't?

Chris, AZ   April 2nd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Why are Hillary supporters so angry today? Florida is being counted. I'm an Obama supporter, and I'm very happy about the news in Florida. Now we've got HRC supporters calling Obama all kinds of horrible things, because he answered a question. Is it any wonder why people are getting turned off by this kind of ugliness?

"Asked at a campaign event if he'd consider Gore for his cabinet, Obama immediately said he would."

Of course, he would want Gore, who wouldn't (and you can't say McCain)?

Swalker327   April 2nd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

YOU GO OBAMA!! Perfect Choice!!

Sorry HRC fans - your girl is cooked - get over it!!! Let's see what male she tries to immitate next - RAMBO?? Why doesn't she just go buy one - she thinks she has one anyway?

Ken from California   April 2nd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Agree, that Gore should probably not be a part of Obama's cabinet, but he is such a strong and recognized proponent for us to pay attention to what we are doing to damage our own planet, that Obama and other World leaders might want to consult his ideas.

Statements such as the climate changes has nothing to do with our emissions, cutting down rainforests, etc are downright ridiculous, so stop being a lobbyist for ignorance, please...

But Gore himself is a lobbyist now, and he should stick with that. He's doing a good job of using his name to create awareness.

HRC has done what she could, she's an intelligent woman, but – fair and square – Obama is heading for the nomination, and if you are a HRC supporter, the most stupid thing you can do is to get so negative that you go and vote for McCain in the general election. If you do, history will never forgive you!

Roy   April 2nd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

As Bill said – "Chill out" Hillary fans. Obama was responding to a reporter's question. No one expects Gore to work in Obama's administration after he was elected president. Bush was selected. Gore was elected.

4Hillary   April 2nd, 2008 4:26 pm ET

Hillary "Rocky" Clinton .....with you all the way to the Oval office!!!

Ohiobo, J From Canada   April 2nd, 2008 4:26 pm ET

Steve, you are uninformed. Obama took credit for bills that he minimally supported and not even law yet. Obama does not have the experience and judgement to be a president. He is a very likeable and smart person, but he is not ready. Hillary is Democrats chance of gaining back the whitehouse, otherwise America will have old crancky McCain with the continuation of misinformed Bush doctrine of war.

Rob   April 2nd, 2008 4:25 pm ET

Mc Cain will destroy Obama in the GE I can see the ads now with McCains 100 years of service to his country and patriotism vs. Obama's wife's comments on her finally being proud of this country and Obama's choice of anti-american, rascist church choices. The swing state's will pick patritism over change. Dem's only chance specially with a long drawn out primary is a split ticket Obama/Clinton Clinton/Obama, or at least someone who Clinton supporters trust. Obama has set himself so far apart he'll make himself a easy target and undecided's will go with old reliable over fear of change. So keep bashing Clinton sure her 45ish percent of Dem's will just be so eager to support your canidate after all the hate Obama supporters spew, doesnt look like change to me looks like a bar fight on any given blog. I guess the Clinton years were'nt that bad if you guys all love Gore so much.

Illinois 2   April 2nd, 2008 4:25 pm ET

Why should Al Gore accept a cabinet post when he could just sit back and be drafted at the convention for the top job as President and then find a really good VP, I'm thinking Bill Richardson someone without an ego problem like Barack has!!!!!!!!!

HAM   April 2nd, 2008 4:24 pm ET

An Agnostic Democrat   April 2nd, 2008 4:23 pm ET

Well, we know one thing for sure after reading these blogs from all the Clinton supporters and the bloggers hired by the Clinton campaign to flood the blogosphere as "Former Obama Supporters" and the like: There will be more toxins in atmosphere than any other time in history. Bill and Hillary have made more than their share of contributions along with the other weasley campaign operatives and surrogates.

Liz, Pittsburgh PA   April 2nd, 2008 4:22 pm ET

If I were Al Gore I would find this to be extremely offensive!!!

It would be like your son or daughter offering you a position under them. Al Gore can only be at the top of a ticket.

Rachel, Nashville TN   April 2nd, 2008 4:22 pm ET

"would that not be too much Gore in Washington. aren't you saying Clinton era was the past, you are for the future…"

Um... excuse me, but Al Gore and Bill Clinton did not converse much during the Clinton Administration and to this day, they are not exactly "buddies." In fact, Bill spends more time working with George H.W. Bush than any other politician, so there you go. Remember the clip in An Inconvenient Truth when Gore blasted Bush Sr. and Clinton for not supporting him in environmental efforts during their presidential terms? Get your facts straight first.

If Obama is president, he is supposed to pick the best people for his cabinet, and the best advisors.... and Gore is the best advisor you can get on alternative energy and climate change. So.... it's actually more about working with smart, forward-thinking people from the past to change the future.

You are going to discredit him for hypothetically picking the best person for the job? Well, that's just illogical thinking.

Al Gore should never be Obama's VP..he is way ahead of that.

However- I agree that Al Gore should hold a very powerful and significant position in Obama's cabinet when it comes to climate change.

Al Gore has become the symbol for the "clean environment" lately. He can make a difference to the environment.

Hillary and Obama Agree!   April 2nd, 2008 4:18 pm ET

In my opinion, the media has it so wrong; it's not that Hillary and Obama tend to agree for the most part, Obama agrees with Hillary because he has no plan or clue.

Replay the debates! "The proof is in the pudding." If he becomes the Democrat nominee, he will have to stand on his own to feet when debating against McCain.

Toni   April 2nd, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Barack wants to bring back Bill's cabinet, although he wants to be Bill.First he offers Bill a post, then he offers one to Al.Is he trying to buy people's support? Is that the reason for all those other losers switching to his side?Mr.Obama I do not think you are ready for this job.You lack loyalty. I have said it before, and I'll say it again-it shows you will have no loyalty to your constituents. You resemble Bush's playhouse. There is only one person capable of undertaking this monumental job of putting this country back – Hillary.

People...get a grip. You really need to slow down and read this article thoroughly. It states, Barack would and does consult Al Gore on CLIMATE CHANGE ISSUES....This is where he would find Al a position in his Cabinet. He didn't say anything about a VP position at all. This world is changing and it is an important issue to most people around the world. Al Gore has a lot of experience in this area. Why wouldn't he consult him. Read People, READ!!!

would that not be too much Gore in Washington. aren't you saying Clinton era was the past, you are for the future...

obama lies and lies and more lies

Linda. Boston, MA   April 2nd, 2008 4:06 pm ET

Obama will do anything to try and get votes. Al Gore would never even consider being Obama's VP? Obama must think we all idiots.

Well if you thought this topic was about Gore being his VP, then you ARE an idiot.

Brian G, Sugar Land, TX   April 2nd, 2008 4:05 pm ET

Ouch! As much as I personally respect Al Gore, he stirs emotions which could be used by McCain to attach Obama's policies to address climate change.

That is to say, it might have been wiser to wait until after elected to say that Gore will have a place in his administration.

I believe most people expect(ed) it anyway. No need to give McCain and the head-in-the-ground anti-environmentalists an issue to pursue like Gore's competency as head of the EPA.

Steve   April 2nd, 2008 4:05 pm ET

Barrack Obama has sponsored two laws that were signed during his tenure in the congress.....

Thanks for your dillegent work Barrack

Yes, DM again Arlington, TX   April 2nd, 2008 4:04 pm ET

Michigan uncommitted voter   April 2nd, 2008 4:03 pm ET

Great. Gore for vice president should be taken into consideration also.

KOR   April 2nd, 2008 4:03 pm ET

Sure just as Barack latches himself to anyone he can use. Watch out, Al. Barack will probably add his name to the credits of An Inconvenient Truth.

Thomas For Hillary   April 2nd, 2008 4:03 pm ET

More arrogant by the day I see.

Susan   April 2nd, 2008 4:02 pm ET

Obama, who we were first for, but not now. He probably would like to have Gore for help if he is elected. Obama does not have the experience he should to be running our country. Another thing is that he appears to be 'star struck', which again, is not good for a president. Think about this America.

ECHEWEOZO   April 2nd, 2008 3:59 pm ET

thanks barack

Candical   April 2nd, 2008 3:59 pm ET

It is time for Gore, Edwards and the others to climb down from the fence and get the Clintons to pack up and go home.

April in Texas   April 2nd, 2008 3:57 pm ET

I would love to see Gore help with the global/ climate change as its important to the enviroment. Just another reason I am proud to support Obama as he makes good judgement and great choices.

Obama 08

2008 Hillary! Go   April 2nd, 2008 3:55 pm ET

haha! Are you kidding me?

Mr. Obama.. I guess he does not even know who he is. He thought he will be next president already?

BTW. Gore was VP and #2 before. How come could you have Gore to be #3.4.5.6...............?

What a JoKE!

Zac   April 2nd, 2008 3:54 pm ET

Please not Gore, I'm a huge Obama supporter, voted for a democrate for the first time... but this alone makes me rethink my vote. Gore is the rich mans Michael Moore. Just lost my vote.

j   April 2nd, 2008 3:52 pm ET

Gore would be an amazing part of an Obama administration.

Jim Shimmer   April 2nd, 2008 3:52 pm ET

That would be an unstoppable ticket!
2 honest, bright, smart, intellectual, tough people!

V Independent   April 2nd, 2008 3:52 pm ET

Please folks Gore had his opportunity. Time to move on. I really don't understand Senator Obama relationship with the typical political folks....I thought he was for change or does he plan to change the folks that are supporting him?

piecrust   April 2nd, 2008 3:51 pm ET

I find this Obama thing laughable. He is a "Junior" to Al Gore, he should be "under" Al Gore. The nerve!!!!!

Get Real   April 2nd, 2008 3:50 pm ET

Oh brother...spare me Barak. First he says he will give Bill Clinton a job, now it's Al Gore. Obama is always about the flavor of the month.

Vig   April 2nd, 2008 3:49 pm ET

Obama courts anybody who he thinks he can use in some way to fortify his value as a nominee – it's been Bloomberg now Gore and a few in between and more to come. Obama – there's no there, there.

Doug, Florida   April 2nd, 2008 3:47 pm ET

Heavenly Choir: Obama, Obama, OBAMA
HRC: Shut up!

Obama will do anything to try and get votes. Al Gore would never even consider being Obama's VP? Obama must think we all idiots.

The Austrian   April 2nd, 2008 3:45 pm ET

Oh, Obama, you're such a schmuck. Al Gore's entire campaign is based on sensationalism and doomsday dogma, not on actual scientific evidence. Yes, the earth is getting warmer, but it's not because of anything we're doing. Did you know that the National Security Council was worried about Global COOLING back in 1974 and were freaked out about that like we are today?

You will be a puppet to the lobbyists, just like Bush. The only difference will be which lobbyists you pay attention to.

Doug, Florida   April 2nd, 2008 3:44 pm ET

HRC : I'm not quiting! Iam in this for the long haul because the people deserve a choice – they deserve a president who's ready on DAY 1.

OBAMA: Give it a rest Hillary then continue Swearing Ceremonies
