Campaign: Penn wasn't representing Clinton in trade meeting

(CNN) – A Clinton campaign spokesman said Friday senior adviser Mark Penn's recent meeting with the Colombian ambassador to discuss a free-trade deal does not reflect Hillary Clinton's staunch opposition to the proposal.

"She remains steadfast against the Colombian Trade Bill," said spokesman Mo Elleithee, adding that the meeting was "not in any way done on behalf of the campaign."

The meeting, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, occurred Monday. Penn appears to have been acting in his role as chief executive of the international communications and lobbying firm, Burson-Marsteller Worldwide. The Colombian Embassy hired the firm to help achieve congressional approval of the trade deal.

Clinton has said she is against the trade bill, and has sharply criticized America's free trade agreements as she campaigns for the Democratic presidential nomination.

So what. Who cares. They all lie get over it. You just have to discern which one you can vote for.
Remember W lies. "I'm a uniter not a divider, The U.S. should not be the policeman of the world, I am going to reform social security, and the IRS, we know Sadam has WMD and know where they are, if we do not give the american people back their money congress will spend it..."

And so on. At least her "lies" have not cost the tax payers any money or their lives.

This says it all, Hillary’s SENIOR ADVISOR Mark Penn's IS A LOBBYIST. His role as chief executive of the international communications and LOBBYING FIRM, Burson-Marsteller Worldwide.

Hillary likes lobbyists!!! She said so many times!!!

That’s what is bringing America down!!! These lobbyists are trying to control America!!!

HERE IS THE POINT. Hillary represents OLD Washington politics!!! What happens is that bills get watered down to the point that America is told be happy with the deal but the real winners are the lobbyists. This is oldest CON GAME in world.

Obama has said this happens in Washington and wants this to stop.
Hillary likes it because she gets money (contributions) out of it.

    America wants CHANGE!!!

Hillary Chief Campaign strategist is CEO of a lobbyist firm.
She has accepted millions of dollars in contributions from lobbyist.
He takes time out of a heated Campaign to do his side job which is to negotiate a trade deal she claims to be against (Nafta) but she publicly praised it when her husband drafted it and he was in office.

What a tangled web we weave. I am done with her. She is a liar

So just because the day jobs of people on the campaign is different what their positions in the campaign means that the campaign takes on those positions as well?

That is quite unfair. Then you should really take a look at Obama's campaign and all the CEOs of the drug companies and oil companies that work on his campaign. Hmmmmmm.....

Penn wasn't talking about Hillary, but Samantha Power and Obama's economic advisor WERE actually talking about him when they said that Obama wasn't really going to back out of NAFTA or pull troops out of Iraq

People have day jobs... this guy wasn't representing Clinton campaign, and as far I can tell did not contradict her stand on trade. There was no "wink... wink" here unlike what some did with the Canadians.

Here is what Hillary said in Ohio:

    Here is what she said:

“If you come to Ohio and you go give speeches that are very critical of NAFTA… and then we find out that your chief economic adviser has gone to a foreign government and basically done the old wink-wink – ‘Don’t pay any attention, this is just political rhetoric’ — I think that raises serious questions…

“I would ask you to look at this story and substitute my name for Sen. Obama’s name and see what you would do with this story… Just ask yourself [what you would do] if some of my advisers had been having private meetings with foreign governments.“

In Obama's case it was an unpaid advisor, in Hillary's it is the guy who make more money than anyone else in her campaign and from all reports runs it.

Hillary's had a lot of "mis-speaks". Heard her comments in Memphis today and am wondering about her statement that she attended a Dr. King speech in Chicago when she was 14 years old–that one probably cannot be fact checked. But, I would certainly be surprised that a well to do white girl attended one of his speeches in about 1964. Would love to hear more about this experience–who took her to the speech, etc. etc.

The only cunning and disloyal person in this primary season ( both democrat and republicans ) is Hillary. I am really worried why no woman has challenged this lady ( Hillary) . May be the rest of the woman in USA are not as cunning, greedy, disloyal.. as men. :-)
