Campaign: Penn wasn't representing Clinton in trade meeting

(CNN) - A Clinton campaign spokesman said Friday senior adviser Mark Penn's recent meeting with the Colombian ambassador to discuss a free-trade deal does not reflect Hillary Clinton's staunch opposition to the proposal.

"She remains steadfast against the Colombian Trade Bill," said spokesman Mo Elleithee, adding that the meeting was "not in any way done on behalf of the campaign."

The meeting, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, occurred Monday. Penn appears to have been acting in his role as chief executive of the international communications and lobbying firm, Burson-Marsteller Worldwide. The Colombian Embassy hired the firm to help achieve congressional approval of the trade deal.

Clinton has said she is against the trade bill, and has sharply criticized America's free trade agreements as she campaigns for the Democratic presidential nomination.

The Columbia trade agreement will be the first thing Hillary signs off of once she's elected and the other lobbyists will be calling at 3am to collect their debts as well.

There is no questioning the fact that the Clintons are not telling the truth. They only want to get back to the white house by all meanse. May be they want the presidency back to see if they can collect their former mistakes. Unfortunatly it is imporsible for them to win because as we can all see, the truth is coming out day by day. They are liers.

BTW: Bosnian sniper fire thing is nothing to make fun of. Bill Clinton did nothing for 4 years and hundred of thousands of people died in genocides.

Hillary was sent in 4 years as part of some USO-like visit, 4 years after Bill had promised he would do something, and she tried to drum it up into something important.

"Hillary is not believable – C'mon people don't tell me Barak is – Rev. Wright, Rezko, Lindsay St. Clair need I say moreā€¦Barak needs actions not words."

Right on – everyone's playing the same game, except one's more capable than the other.

Sure Mr. Penn! Just like NAFA in Canada!!! A member of your campaign goes there, spins it that someone from Sen. Obama's camp was there, until the Candadian Govt. comes out and states that it was Sen. Clintons camp that visited them. Give me a break.......

Most of you are forgetting the gamut of lies that have come from obama, they would probably out weigh Hillarys by a landslide , wake up all of you obama fools.

I don't seem to have a scale with me at the moment... perhaps you could weigh them for us, oh mighty balancer of honesty and integrety?

Sure! You and HRC have been so honest all along, we believe you, right Mark, right.

Huh. Ironic that Wright's comments are purported to define Obama but a Clinton campaign spokesperson doesn't represent anything about Clinton. More of same.
She only disagrees or agrees with statements that get her votes in the currently debated state. And everyone thought Romney was the flip-flopper in this campaign...
Just like she was and wasn't under sniper attack. Oh, that's right. As soon as she makes fun of her own lies they become harmless.
    People WAKE UP!

Everything that Mark Penn does is in some way on behalf of the Clinton Campaign.

Penn is not a Samantha Powers, a Geraldine Ferarro or a Rev. Wright. He is the architect of her campaign, along with Ickes and a few other key players.

We should not be surprised that Penn/Clinton are orchestrating a backstabbing of the blue-collar workers in America, all while touting anti-trade rhetoric. More lies and dishonesty from the Clinton Campaign...how disappointing.

This is too good to be true. Did they actually think this wouldn't be discovered? Wow! Major conflict of interest, or NOT?

Hillary, come on. Get real. Will you benefit from this economically? It would help your campaign? How about pay your debts? Or is it just to add to your millions that you will have to live on, once you lose the nomination, and get kicked out of the senate.

    Glad I'm an Obama supporter.

Aren't we tired of being lied too? OBAMA has pledged to tell us the truth. The Nafta gaffe was corrected once he found out from his staff (over 50 advisors) that his immediate answer was incorrect. This is Senator Clinton trying to tell us that Mark Penn there but he is not representing her. Who is he going to Lobby? George Bush?

Here is a direct quote from Hillary to reporters, after Obama's campaign was accused of meeting with Canadian officials on NAFTA:

"Just ask yourself [what you would do] if some of my advisers had been having private meetings with foreign governments"!

Well, Hill, they have. And now you get to sit back and watch what the media will do.
