(CNN) – A Clinton campaign spokesman said Friday senior adviser Mark Penn's recent meeting with the Colombian ambassador to discuss a free-trade deal does not reflect Hillary Clinton's staunch opposition to the proposal.
"She remains steadfast against the Colombian Trade Bill," said spokesman Mo Elleithee, adding that the meeting was "not in any way done on behalf of the campaign."
The meeting, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, occurred Monday. Penn appears to have been acting in his role as chief executive of the international communications and lobbying firm, Burson-Marsteller Worldwide. The Colombian Embassy hired the firm to help achieve congressional approval of the trade deal.
Clinton has said she is against the trade bill, and has sharply criticized America's free trade agreements as she campaigns for the Democratic presidential nomination.

I respectfully disagree with your comments. It is important to look at the situation objectivity. Yes, Penn meeting with Columbian officals regarding the trade deal may have been innocent. However, he is part of her campaign. Whenever one of her aids have meetings with officials regarding policy, they represent her campaign. It is difficult to comprehend the reason for the meeting when Hilliary said she will not discuss trade deals with any country for now until she evaluates all of the trade deals and determine what needs to change. Mark Penn did. If she was angry about Obama's aid meeting with the Canidian officials, then it is wrong when her advisors do the same. It is her inconsistancies that is the issue not Mark Penn.

As a female, I once supported Hillary. But now I am positive without a doubt that Hillary Clinton can't be trusted.
I don't know who lies the most, her or her husband Bill. I was once supporting Hillary on her own merit. but now I see she is may be more of a liar than her husband ever was.

Clinton says open trade is bad and wants to bolck it. By afternoon, her main advisor is selling open trade to another country. WAKE UP people! Good old Mark Penn. He does have a tendency to state his own opinion, on any given topic. Barack has the same kind of problems with his staff. Hillary is an honest person. Also, she could have refused to say anything, like Barack does, when something goes wrong. Instead she put her real opinion and stand, out there for all to see. If Hillary differs in opinion with her staff, shes takes control and puts things right. You always know where Hillary stands, on any issue. She will tell you what she will do about it. Not so with Barack. You only hear from him if the issue turns out to be, good for him. Hillary takes a stand, good or bad. You will always know what Hillary thinks, and what she will do. Good leaders, don't run from or side step a problem as Barack does.Good leaders face the problem, then make themselves clear on the issue. Like Hillary Clinton does.

This is why the press has a less than favorable taste for the Clinton campaign. They keep crying and yelling that their missteps are magnified, while the other camp's gaffs are muffled. Well, it seems to me that on a continuous basis, there is sheer craziness from her camp. I hope that they can get their act together so that these incredible roadblocks can be avoided for the party's sake.
