She used a story told to her by an individual who claimed first hand knowledge of this incident in order to outline how important medical coverage is for Americans. That person didn't get their facts straight, but there is no doubt that there are Americans who suffer and who die because they don't have medical insurance. I am sure that most of the people who are reading this know someone or have heard of someone who was turned away or denied medical treatment due to lack of insurance. Instead of the Obama supporters looking objectively at their candidate's plan and finding it wanting, as it is, they perfer to misrepresent the facts of the story told by Ms. Clinton in order to try to score yet more cheap political points on the backs of the under- and un-insured Americans. Tells me a lot about them and their candidate.

While I'm at it, what was the official cause of death? Unisnured? Hillary should check out the facts before she slanders a hospital. Hospitals keep good documentation of every patient and event that happens, all the time! Yes we have health care insurance problems. Hospitals like to be reimbursed for the care we provide, since everyone there draws a paycheck, pays at the pump and grocery store like everyone else. Hillary didn't exactly lie on this one but for sure didn't use good judgement not "vetting" this one first.

I totally disagree with people that say she's lying in this particular story. She just related something she's heard, that turned out not to be true. It's hardly lying.

Now, that said, there's 2 points :

1 – Obama has been accused of lying although he also merely reported what his campaign have said about Goolsbe meeting with the Canadians, which turned out not to be true. So I guess that makes them even on the unfair 'lying' accusations.

2 – "She had no reason to doubt his word” ... Hmmmm ... really ? buying into a sensational story and going for it without checking for the facts ? especially when the story is that publicly exposed ? doesn't that recall you about something ? Irak vote anyone ? Talking about judgement ...

Objectively, If it's 3 AM in the morning and the phone is ringing carrying alledged news that Russia is starting a nuclear war against the U.S. I want no one other than someone that is willing and able to check the facts to pick up the phone.

I don't know which is more amusing- the amount of times Hillary has been forced to admit that she "misspoke" or how her supporters crucify the media for reporting it. It isn't bias- it's just that Obama doesn't do this, so they can't report it. The flip side of that is, naturally, that if Hillary just spoke the truth, she wouldn't have to see these kind of stories either.

Even if Clinton has a point about the broken healthcare system, you can't simply give false examples, there's no excuses when you're in politics giving speeches. to be able to say that you misspoke, or were misinformed just makes you look either incompetent or a liar. Always get your facts straight.

as a future resident, i get to see the true side of medicine...everyone gets treated equally...heck, we don't even care if you smoke crack just so you tell us so we don't go searching for some other cause...we don't care if you have insurance or not, people who don't have insurance probably are more self conscience because they know they'll be getting a bill in the mail for self-pay...the truth is, they probably won't pay anything and the hospital will eat the costs...this is the reality of the american health care system.

Check out any health care provider or hospital who attempts to serve the underserved to learn the TRUTH about the impact not having insurance has on health. The worth of this "charity care" is clear to anyone whose goal is a healthier community.

They put some bandages on her and told us to take her home , we refused and the next day she was in ICU,because she took a turn for the worse during the night,if we would have taken her home she may not be here today. She is now grown and a teacher, that had to work her way through college, because she couldn't get any help with that either.My children worked for everything they have on there own. We know Mrs. Clinton told the story as she was told. We know the mother and baby died. We know the mother sought medical attention and, according to the hospital was insured and not turned away. Was that Ohio Medicaid insurance for pregnant women? What great care and diagnostic work was done that she was dismissed twice and reappeared by ambulance with a dead fetus and then flown to Columbus too late to a hospital that couldn't save her. This is nothing short of poor care for a poor woman in a lousy health care system. Mrs. Clinton is not the bogeyman here...just the messenger.

The study conducted by FAMILYS USA, says an estimated 3,100 adults died in California in 2006 because they lacked insurance,could not afford care or received substandard or late care because of a lack of insurance.
The report follows a three-year study by the national Institute of medicine that linked roughly 18,000 deaths annually to a lack of insurance in the USA.
Families USA based in Washington, DC, says its report is the first to link deaths to a lack of health insurance on the state level.

It is clear she does not intend to spend any of her own millions to become president. Mitt Romney, another multi-millionair at least was willing to invest some of his own wealth in support of his cause. No wonder she refused to reveal her tax returns until forced to do so. This is just another example of Hillary Clinton's remoteness from honesty. To those individuals who continued to send her money so she won't have to spend her own $109.2 millions, all I can say is it's true that you can fool some of the perple ALL of the time!!

Health Care is a serious issue. So serious that when a candidate wants to use examples to show why improvements are needed they have to make sure of their facts. One mistake is all that is need to pop the balloon of intent. Especially for a candidate that has the (be it due to her own fault or not) baggage of being seen as someone who fabricates her stories in order to make her points.

What could she and her advisors be thinking to use a story like this and not get the facts? There was a name, a location and a time – everything needed verify information to back up her agenda. Instead, she misused the information and has now turned it against her and those who suggest that Health Care needs to be fixed in the U.S. The story is now a mockery thanks to her own doing and no one wishing to convince those on the fence or the other side of the argument on Health Care will ever treat it with the serious nature it may deserve.

Do we really want someone as president so willing to jump over the facts to move an agenda? We already had that for eight years with the supposed WMD in Iraq. Clinton either needs to learn to move past this "yellow cake" showboating or else drop from the race. i work in a hospital and NOONE has ever been turned away for lack of insurance or not able to pay the co pay/deductable. Most hospitals wait till you are out and if you have no insurance they will make a paymant plan with you and even if you do have insurance they will make a plan for the copay , if you need to. i agree with the lady who said why should we pay for everyone else health insurance? No one pays for my food, house ,ect. The job of the us goverment, according to the constutution, is insure domastic tranquilty and provid for the common defence, not health care for every one. Remeber when the goverment had the post office!! They couldn't even run that and now they want to run health care. And most countries that have socialiezed medician have 50% tax rate. ANd ask miss liar how she or Obama how they are going to pay for their health care programs.

Unless we know the exact circumstances of what happened (which we won't, because individual medical records are sealed), there is no way to blame the hospital for that. 2. The pregnant girl at hospital story without insurance dies story she tells for months until someone investigates and figures out the whole thing is a fabrication.

3. She was against NAFTA until her schedule from the white house is released and everybody realizes that she attended many, many meetings to support Nafta attended by others that were also pro NAFTA.

and while we're at it, lets not forget the lies about the planted audience questions in Iowa, about how she had said she didn't prepare questions ahead of time and how that specific girl was given a canned question to ask her.

And then, we can't also forget the lie about promising not to campaign in Michigan and Florida and then swearing up and down she never did that when push came to shove.

And then lets not also forget the lie about how she was totally for at large caucuses in Vegas, Nevada and had agreed to them months beforehand by signing on the dotted line to support them, until it came down to a few weeks beforehand and she was behind in the polls and she suddenly decides that at large caucuses are un Amercian and unfair and should be challenged, (because she always loses caucuses).

But if you must, keep sending her money – just do yourselves a favor and ask what happens to unspent campaign contributions after the candidate drops out – you can bet that at the least her $5M loan will be the first debt paid by her soon to be defunct campaign. Health care is important, and I usnderstand why Hillary would bring up a personal account. The hospital in question claims the pregnant woman was not denied care. Clinton accepts the hospital's claim. She will stop using the story. End of story. It's inherently wrong to tell such a story without ever bothering to check the facts. The woman had insurance. Furthermore, no hospital would have turned her away, or demanded $100.00 up front.

From her Bosnia story, to the "there's no such thing as pledged delegates" while she's out there trying to get the superdelegates to over turn the vote of the people, to her lies regarding NAFTA... and outsourcing to India... to her "I'm more qualified to be President because I lived in the White House for 8 years" she just comes off looking more pathetic by the day.

This is coming from a nurse of 18years, with ER experience. First thing, there is a law called EMTLA, all patients have to be checked in the ER, regardless of their insurance or money! Secondly, Clinton is just feeding us another of her lies. Pay attention PA, you can't trust anything she says. Who will answer the phone at 3am, hopefully, not a liar.

Last year I ran for a small local public office in my county. It was a part time position and with a full time job, I did my best to campaign when I had an opportunity. It was a basic one-man campaign of door knocking, civic gatherings, town hall meetings, church functions, or any place there was a gathering of people that would listen to my speech.

My opponent was the incumbent and rumors were plentiful about a checkered past that involved guilty verdicts in federal court on human rights violations. Many people told me stories and would often pull me aside to ask why I hadn't brought them up during the first month I was made aware of this information.

The reason was simple; I hadn't had a chance to track down the facts of those stories before I was willing to commit them in a public forum. When time and money was available, I spent time at the federal building collecting the facts. When I finally mentioned them in public, I had case numbers, verdicts, and transcripts. My facts were solid and weren't disputed by my opponent.

Senator Clinton tells us she trusted her resource and had no reason to doubt him. I find that a hard stretch that with so much attention on a presidential campaign, she would forgo a background check on an emotional stump speech that was sure to be fact checked by the media.

If one guy running for a small local office is able to fact check before speaking publicly, I do not believe a presidential campaign with hundreds of resources and tens of millions of dollars was unable to do the same.

My opinion is that if a person is willing to lie to get into office then they are most certainly predisposed to lying once they get into office. Perhaps Senator Clinton should step back and ask herself it being the president is worth the lies it will take for her to appear as the better candidate.

2. Bosnia Sniper trip: Hillary failed to consult her self to check the veracity of the story. Turns out the truth was the only casualty that day.
3. Hospital Stump speech: Hillary grabbed the most hear wrenching story for her stump speeches and again shows her disdain for the truth.

This is the problem that candidates can get into when they take stories from voters. Often times the stories get very distorted and the candidate gets in trouble. Coming after the Bosnia story, this only boosts the notion that Clinton is dishonest, though I don't think she had any ill intent with this story.

Mrs Clinton didn't just now start embellishing, exaggerating and outright lying, she's been doing that for decades, and was fired for being fraudulant with evidence from a legal committee investigating President Nixon during the Watergate build-up. And who did she marry? Someone equally interested in power at any cost. It is sickening to see people in such high places willing to deceive in order to gain position. And Barack Obama has done it too, and continues to by trying to explain away his willingness to endorse extreme philosophies only when they become public.

Nobody's perfect, but in the Democratic party's effort to find an emotionally satisfying candidate, they have eliminated the possibility of decent, normal people from emerging as their leaders, and only the deceptive can apply, and they did.

Two observations:

1. My perception has been that those supporting the Clintons believe the end justifies the means–it doesn't matter how the Presidency is obtained because the work they have to do there is just and true. A lot of their supporters seem to have the same mindset–this, and I am sure subsequent events, will not change their minds about supporting her. Incidents like this one, which tell us something about both the candidate and the organizations they set up and run, are about the only redeeming thing about this long running electoral process.

2. Some have commented here about the real issue being that we have a broken health care system. I'll agree that the system may have some problems, but I am not convinced that getting the government involved is going to solve those problems. The areas that government intervention has helped over the years are few and far between. Look around you–the evidence is pretty clear and the results are draining your wallet and the nation's budget.

The "misspeaks" just keep coming and coming.

She faults Bush for jumping on information to support his cases (WMD in Iraq) but didn't she just do the same with this tragic story about the woman's hospital experience?

Unless it's a life or death situation, hospitals can turn you away especially if you have a history of unpaid medical bills. All that hospitals are required to do is stablize you then they release you. In her story the woman was not in an emergency situation at the time. She said they did treat her later when it became an emergency, costing MORE money than if they would've treated her in the first place. And that's a sad fact. This story, I believe on the part of the Clintons. But being idiots and not checking your facts doesn't make the story excusable. Before you use these things in your speeches, you've got to think. Calling Clinton a liar here is overreaching - there's no reason (other than her track record) to believe she knew the story was false.

HOWEVER

This is yet another in a long litany of countless examples of her total lack of concern with the truth. It's easy to say, "Oh, she was told this story by a police officer and had no reason to doubt it was true," but the fact is that at some point she had to think to herself "whether or not this story is true DOESN'T MATTER." And THAT is a shining example of Clinton's relationship with the truth. If this were an isolated incident, one might give her the benefit of the doubt and call it a error in judgment to trust the story without checking on it. But it is NOT an isolated incident. Whether she's taking stories she doesn't know to be true and representing them as fact, making misleading representations, playing word games to obfuscate the truth or telling flat-out lies, she has demonstrated time and time again that in her world, the truth only has value if it serves her purposes.

From most people, this would be a matter of poor judgement. From someone with a history such as hers, it's yet another brushstroke in a painting that clearly illustrates her total lack of concern with facts. Leaders who manipulate facts to support their positions when they should be looking at the facts to determine what their positions should be are, quite frankly, dangerous.

It's a shame that so many fail to see or willfully ignore the seriousness of that problem.

There is an aspect to this story, the Bosnia story and others that the media is really not addressing. Which is why don't people within the Clinton campaign fact check what she says and why don't they tell her when she is mistaken.

Bosnia story in point: in all the hours of stories around the Bosnia "mistatement" no one in the media brought up the fact that Chelsea was there with her in Bosnia, yet never spoke up and said "mom, my account of what happened is pretty different, maybe you should change the way you tell the story....".

What this tells me, is something much more insidious than these silly mis-statements that come out every few days, it tells me that people within the Clinton campaign are afraid to be straight with her, to tell her the truth.

As a president it is absolutely critical that people around a president be free to give their advice truthfully and to be comfortable with that. If they don't, than you get situations like Irag and the bay of pigs.

If Senator Clinton has time, she should review the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act ( EMTLA), which was enacted by congress in 1986. This was enacted to prevent hospitals from refusing emergency medical treatment to patients who are unable to pay. I have worked in Emergency Medicine for over 15 years, and I have never seen anyone turned away from our hospital due to lack of insurance or inability to pay.

CNN-This story will not hurt Senator Clinton in any way. She was told this story by a law enforcement officer. Senator Clinton had no reason to doubt this deputy sheriff. I heard yesterday that Senator Clinton's campaign attempted to verify the story but due to confidenatily laws she was unable to verify the story. Anyway, she believed the story to be true and this kind of stuff does happen on a daily basis so the message is still true. Lastly, I believe the poor woman's family should sue the hospital. I am a nurse who understands the HIPAA law. I actually helped write the policy and procedure for this law for my company and I give our annual HIPAA Training. Therefore, this hospital released information that could be against the HIPAA Law. It strikes me as wrong to automatically say Senator Clinton lied. She did not lie. She repeated the story as it was told to her. CNN is trying to make something out of nothing to hurt Senator Clinton. I want to caution you. This bias is angering a lot of people. CNN's bias may actually be helping Senator Clinton.

I recently visited San Jose CA and was admitted to emergency due to gallblader infection. The hospital was Kaiser. I was suprise to be treated FIRST (because I was in serious pain) before they do my paper work... My foreign insurance require me to pay first and after verification, they will reimbursh. If I were to go on with an operation there which would cost US$ 10K (actually cheaper than what I had in my home country US$15k) which was a possibility at that point of time and the finance was discussed with the hospital financial planner, I am sure I will get the opeartion done even without insurance. I am actually suprise by how efficient and compasionate the hospital have on their patient.

With this Hospital story that was told by HRC, i knew in first instant that it cannot be true...

Also, after this election, I think Congress should draft some laws regarding married people and the presidency. There isn't a hospital in this country that would take responsibilty of their part in a patient's death. It is a fact that, in this country, one's wealth ranks the type of medical care you are given. I have health care coverage for about $150 a month, but it still cost me over $500 out of pocket to have a physical examination this year. Do you think I will ever have another one done...no. I can't afford it on top of paying 1/3 of my income to taxes, another 1/3 for living expenses and the remainder for unexpected expenses and misc. stuff that comes up. I view death as retirement . If anyone feels Hillary is lying about the story she told, look around....there are millions of stories everyday just like that one. I think people are "nit-picking" just because it was Hillary who told it as an example of our health care system. I know hospitals charge more to people who have coverage, because they have to cover the cost for the one's they treat who do not have coverage. Then in turn the coverage of insurance goes up to cover their cost for paying the high payments made to the hospitals that had to carry the burden of treating the ones who weren't covered. It is a cycle that needs to be broken, but it won't as long as there are people who are not covered. WE are all paying the high cost of health coverage as long as there are people with none. I think Hillary is on to something and it should be required that ALL people are covered. If this country can afford to strip trillions of dollars from hundred of programs to fund this unnecessary war, I would think that we could come up with a solution to make coverage affordable to all.....if we were not in Iraq. I can hear people now...."well, she voted for the war"...and NO, she did not...she voted to give the president the authority to go to war...BUT as a LAST resort...AFTER all other avenues were exhausted diplomatically. Little did she, and many others who voted to give him the authority, know that he planned to use it as a FIRST resort. I am sure they thought he was a level headed thinking president....not the "decider" that he is. Her speech given during the vote, if you care to hear the truth, is posted on youtube, check it out. It would be very easy to say you would have voted no when you weren't in the position to have a vote on it, like Obama, and IF you were not the Senator of NY where the Twin Towers stood. We didn't know at time who was involved in the attacks, as we now know that Iraq had absolutely no connection and Afghanistan should have been our main concern. Obama keeps talking about it, but considering that he is the Chair for the Afghanistan Subcommitte and has not held one meeting in over a year, he apparently is just as useful a resource as Bush and his minions. We trusted a man out fear, who was not to be trusted, but that was a different time. Bush was not experienced enough to run this country, as he has proved and we do not need to walk down that same avenue with Obama.

I think there is more to learn about the "medical coverage" this woman had. Was it HMO Health care coverage or what kind? The point being we have real problems in this country regarding health care coverage and before anyone gets all puffed up about that, remember, it does, and can happen with our current policies regarding health insurance. It is understood that candidates for public office cannot personally confirm the validity of mis-information provided for every item provided by staff that is intended for publication in any form of campaign material (written or oral). It is not understood how one candidate can be the victim of so many of these easily discredited items. I can only remember the lies Hillary tells than any inspiring message she had offered. I can almost tell line by line what Obama will say anytime he gets on the stage but cant even remember any good thing Hillary has said except attacks, exagerations and lies. Her attacks are more known than any economic plans she has to offer. Obama is so consistent that all the kids can tell u when this man will say if he gets on the stage. Clinton did not lie. She said that someone on the campaign trail told her the story and that's true. Someone posted earlier that hospitals are required to treat patients but that isn't true. Does that make them a liar?

Patients are sometimes turned away or left to sit in the waiting room until they die. Didn't this happen just recently in California, even after calls were made to 911 from the hospital? Hospital personnel can always claim that they didn't think the person needed treatment. Hospitals have also been known to refuse to accept transfer patients if they are unable to pay. They may be liable if they are sued but that doesn't prevent them from doing it in the first place.

And she claims she is the one that can be elected? At the rate her lies are comming apart she will have ZERO support by the general election. The Clinton Machine is all made up of this supposed "experience" and stories of her fighting for heatlh insurance, national security and jobs.

The longer we look at it, she was PRO-NAFTA, she did ZERO for health insurance and her stories are lies, her foreign policy experience is also based on lies... and the woman has not worked a real day in years as she sat on the Wal-Mart board and led scandal after scandal in her campaign finances.

As to this story, I am sorry people die but that is life. If they came up with a way to make everyone live to 100 for a measly $10 million dollars would I then be required to pay taxes to make sure that every poor baby boomer could play shuffleboard until that age? HEALTH INSURANCE IS NOT A RIGHT!!! Read the Constitution. If you want health insurance, work for it like I do... I do not ask for anyone to pay my house, food or insurance and neither should anyone else.

Several of you have said that the actual facts in this story need not be true since the problem that she is addressing is real.

The problem with that kind of thinking is that before you can fix a broken system you have to know what is wrong with it. Imagine if your mechanic replaced your alternator when your battery was dead. You would be out extra money and your car would still have the same problems.

Good policy is based on sound facts. The defenses of this misstatement sound an awful lot like some defenses I heard in late 2003 and 2004. Sure the yellow cake story turned out to be flawed and the Mohammed Atta who met with the Iraqis turned out to be a case of mistaken identity, but Saddam Hussein was a bad man and in the end isn't that really all that matters?

I for one am tired of policy based on belief. I'm not really an Obama supporter, and I have my concerns about McCain, but there is no way after all that I have seen that I would ever cast a vote for Hillary Clinton.

It is my understanding that Sen Clinton merely was repeating what she had been told, without checking or vetting the story. I am an Obama supporter who has little confidence in Hillary's commitment to the truth in this campaign, but in this instance, I don't believe she should be pilloried for repeating a story that she believed to be true.
I believe that she should be held accountable, along with Tom Daschle and John McCain, for not listening to her own Senate Intelligence Committee report leading up to the authorization for the Iraq War.
Even if Iraq had had WMDesruction, why did the Senators not ask the question, "How could a 3rd rate power with no Air Force, no Navy, no ICBM's possibly be a threat to America?" Why did they not ask: "Why should we take out the only government in the Gulf Area which is an avowed enemy of Iran?" Why did Hillary not ask those questions, and thereby save the lives of over 4,000 of our brave young men and women; and according to UNICEF, 650,000 to 900,000 Iraqi civilians? Why not, indeed?

It's one thing to repeat a story once or twice without checking it out. To repeat it many times, as the CNN article says she did ("frequently"), without checking it out speaks poorly of a public servant's character. If a candidate makes a story part of their repeated campaign speech, I believe they are obligated to make sure it's true. A basic responsibility of all people is to endeavor to speak the truth at all times. Someone who willingly ignores this does not hold my respect. "Truth is the material from which the leadership chain is forged." Or, as Abe Lincoln once said (remember "Honest Abe"?) – "Truth is generally the best vindication against slander."

I am surprised at the comments that I read on the tickler. How can anyone blame CNN for this story? CNN is not the one running for president and is certainly not the one who keeps telling lies. Advice to the candidates (and the dumb people who support your stupidity): If you don't your poor choices and mistakes to be reported in the news, don't make them!!

I grew up in Athens, Ohio, and I seriously doubt that the story Sen. Clinton tells really could have started there. It's a small town with a big university, Ohio University, so it is relatively cosmopolitan for its small number of permanent residents. As a college town, it is rather left-leaning, so I doubt that such harsh treatment of an indigent patient would have been tolerated.

If she has been lying about Athens, Ohio for all this time, all I can say is that I am even more disappointed in her. I'll cast my vote for her in November, nevertheless, but as far as donating time or money is concerned, she can count me out.

I am so tired of Hillary embellishing stories however she see's fit without blinking an eye. We all know there are plenty of health care cases where people are paying too much for insurance, high deductibles etc....but to take a story that someone off the street tells you and turn it into a full blown he said /she said story with supposed quotes from the patient and the hospital is rediculous. I am very disturbed at the ease in which Hillary can tell these embellished stories as fact.

Many Clinton supporters defend this story based on their belief that things like this DO happen. Can anybody out there actually name a specific hospital the U.S. where a specific person having a medical problem was turned away from the emergency room because they did not have health insurance? Perhaps I am naive, but this sounds like an urban legend.

I agree with Natasha above. It's one thing to repeat a story to a friend that someone else has told you, without checking to see if it is true. This is done all of the time. However, if you are [a] running for President of the United States, and [b] accusing your competition of being untruthful, incompetent, and inexperienced, you'd better be certain that ALL of your facts are in order. Hillary is showing more and more that she cannot be trusted, and that she will do and say ANYTHING to get back into the White House. Pennsylvania, is that really what this country needs?

As good as this story was for a campaign that catches the audience all over the globe, a presidential candidate should run a fact check to the authenticity of the story before carrying it on a campiagn trail.

In as much as she felt free to take credit for the story on her campaign train, she should be bold enough to accept the responsibilities for carrying stories not checked for facts.

As if Obama doesn't lie? How about the lie he told about his father? How about the lie he told about not taking oil money. How about the lie he told about not taking money from drug company's and come to find out he takes more from them than any other candidate. Obama has a long list of lies. They all do.

Hillary and the Clinton campaign treats American voters as idiots. Should the Clintons win, they will have proved their point.

It is sad to see someone as Hillary Clinton, a woman with a lot of positive attributes and capabilities, lie shamelessly to try to win something that she has already lost.

CNN, when will you report that Hillary was repeating a story told to her by a supporter. The tape exists. When will you put the story out about that? Stop trying to spin this story against Hillary. How many stories has Obama repeated which may not be completely correct? Have you looked into that?

I'd like to hear one good reason why Mrs. Clinton should drop out of the race before the entire population has voted. Example: Michelle Obama said in one speech that the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND was sucking the life out of our teachers, when in reality, it was Obama's big endorser, Ted Kennedy who co-sponsored the bill with George W. Bush. Never one word was printed about that. Yet Hillary's spouse need only show a certain facial expression and the talking heads, like Chris Matthews on MSNBC, starts immediately to dissect what exactly he meant by that expression, and before his program is over, he'll seat a Bill/Hillary panel who'll recall that not since Saddam Hussein was alive has anyone seen such an expression on ANYONE'S face, thereby suggesting that Hillary Clinton has surely committed treason, or husband Bill would have surely been smiling instead of grousing.

To the above, I've never seen a campaign so one-sided as this one in the eyes of certain media hawkers.

Obama flat out lied about not knowing of Rev. Wright's hateful, racist sermons until he was forced to renounce them in his presidential campaign after heeding Wright's counsel for 20 years. He lied on CNN, telling conflicting stories about this. Yet, because it has to do with race, and apparently because Obama is too tender to endure such criticism, the media has gone silent on this most worrisome issue of credibility. Do you think any hospital is going to admit being at fault? Give me a break! Thousands if not millions have been denied what at the time was thought to be non-emergency care. At times even emergency care has been denied.

as much as i dislike HRC, i don't really fault her for this one. stories get told and retold and retold and pretty soon the story no longer resembles the original. i highly doubt she discovered this one herself. i'm sure a staffer heard about it from a friend who knew a co-worker of the woman's sister, etc. the fact that it's a medical case makes verifying the details harder (hipaa).

So Hillary relied on a story given to her by a police officer and repeated the story to illustrated an already documented fact. The story told turns out to be uncomfirmable (the hospital wouldn't possibly lie about it?Nahhh...) and yet it doesn't change the already documented facts.

On the other hand, Obama "would have left the church" if his racist, anti-american preacher had not decided to retire. Funny it took him 20 YEARS to make that decision... I once left a church in less than 20 MINUTES of hearing that kind of sermon and didn't regret the loss of "friends" at all.

At least Hillary takes a stand. Obama talks big but usually it's someone else's words and after the fact. Give me a fallible human being over a media-gifted messiah that's being shoved down my throat any day. A long time ago, I learned that when something seems to good to be true, it usually is. If you can't fully vet a story, then simply don't repeat it. Shouldn't that be obvious?

If her campaign staff gives her speech material that hasn't been completely fact checked, what can you do? The media runs and prints inaccurate stories all the time, most of which are corrected and some are dropped. You can't call her a liar for using material that looked good right in the middle of a stump.

The point is, that the situation *can* happen or has happened to other people. Maybe not there, but in another place like a metropolitan area.

I recall Senator Obama using a story about a young military Captain in his speeches that was inaccurate as well. I guess that was okay because 1) it was Obama and 2) he was simply relying a story that had been told to him. There is no difference between what Obama and Clinton did in telling a story that had been told to them.

I am a die hard Obama supporter, but as usual I find CNNs reporting sloppy. The headline should be "hospital challenges Clinton story" rather than suggesting emphatically that she "lied". Truth is the hospital has a lot at stake to suggest that the woman was not denied care. My honest "opinion", and it is just that, "opinion", is that Clinton probably did exaggerate and "misspoke" given her long track record at doing so. However, I think it is the medias responsibility (and campaigns as well) to double check the facts and I suspect the NY Times and others are scrambling to do that right now.

If Clinton did indeed "misspeak" she will rightfully be blasted on all the news programs early this week and her trustworthiness ratings will be justifiably further damaged, if its even possible to get much lower.

Hillary is TOO LEGIT to QUIT !

When the democratic race was Clinton, Obama, Edwards, I thought I could support any two-combination of these three. Recently, however, Hilary Clinton has convinced me that her relationship with the truth is about the same as George Bush's; that is, they're strangers. I'm now solidly in Obama's camp and, if he gets the nomination, hope that he does not approach Clinton as a running mate.

I am an Obama supporter, but I do not think we ought to think the WORST about Hillary based on this story. Whether it's Clinton or Obama, I am sick and tired of these kinds of stories that have nothing to do with the issues. I don't like seeing good candidates brought down over nothing.

This is a true story. The woman was turned away for non payment of medical bills. It wasn't that hospital though. Mrs. Clinton didn't say that the stroy was true. She just said that someone had told her the story. She didn't mention the name or the hospital in her speech. If you research the data on the woman, she was turned away from an Ohio hospital. I happen to be pregnant and uninsured and my dr charges me $375 every month to go see him. This month, I can't come up with it so I won't be able to go. I PRAY that he will see me next month when I need to get a shot because I am RH negative and my husband is positive. If I can't get that shot at 28 weeks, I won't be able to carry any more children to term; I'll build up antibodies and miscarry. I am not on welfare or medicaid because up until this month, we made enough money to live without it. Now, my husband lost his job and with rent and car insurance and utilities, an extra $375 every month is hard to come by. Even the Chip insurance program costs that much a month. Maybe I don't work at a pizza place or live in Ohio, but these stories do happen.

It certainly is true that a person may not receive the care they need if they have no health insurance and income. It happened to me when I needed surgery and it wasn't done and it has left me a cripple.
Can't tell you how many times I have heard similar stories of people needing expensive health care and no insurance. People die.
Senator Hillary Clinton told the story as it was told to her and it probably was true. Hospitals and medical people are trying to save their own butts by denying the claim. If Hillary had as much expertise about the American health care system as she claims, she would know that pregnant women are required by law to be evaluated regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. In fairness to Hillary, ABC news gave the source of the story as a law enforcement officer telling her the story and she was then telling it on her campaign talks. SO there.
We are still waiting for CNN to begin a series on Gender and Politics – Women in America. But one must wonder if CNN's own gender biases are preventing the exploration of this and especially when their own polls show that more Americans would vote for a Black male to be President than a woman. Where are you CNN?

Some commentators here are saying that this falsehood (or carelessness with the truth–whatever you want to call it) isn't a big deal because our health care system really does turn some people away for not having insurance. But you don't do the cause of health care reform any favors by using false stories to make your point. In fact, that just makes it easier for ouropponents to dismiss the whole need for health care reform. So by being so careless in telling stories like this, Clinton not only shows (once again) her own character flaws BUT also sets back the cause for health care reform in this country.

This is the woman who touts health care reform as her platform, yet she couldn't investigate the sketchy details of one story that was told to her secondhand? Again, she goes into such "detail" in telling the story, just as she did with her Bosnia tale. The lowered voice, cracking with emotion . . . it all makes me question if there's anything genuine in any of the stories she's told during this campaign.

Why would I want to exchange one president I do not trust for another who is perhaps even more manipulative? The Clintons must think us regular people are fools that can be easily snowed. I work at a hospital, and Hillary should know, that hospitals NEVER refuse a person care regardless of their ability to pay. This is just what we need. President who does not get the facts before they speak or act. She told the story as she heard from the family. That family should be blamed instead for trying to exaggerate their story....though I am aware that turning people away due to lack of insurance is not uncommon.

The issue is healthcare, but it's also lying. One thing that lying does is that it hurts credibility. If Hillary cares so much about healthcare, she needs to act like it. The problem with some of these stories is the way they are first told or reported in the press. I would be vetting the story before I used it in my campaign. What the heck are Hillary's advisors doing? Oh, that's right, lobbying trade agreements on behalf of foreign governments.. ooops.. She needs to dump that guy. I live in MD, near DC, and stories like this are in the paper all the time. An ambulance is forced to drive on to another hospital because the first one they go to won't treat the patient. What makes the Clintons lie even when obviously unnecessary? Surely there are more than a handful of true stories about indigents who die because of inadequate medical care. Why must she make up tales? She used to say she was named after Mount Everest climber Sir Edmund Hillary. After it was pointed out that she was born before he even climbed the mountain and became famous, she dropped that story. But why was it necessary in the first place? Why would it matter how her parents chose her name?

If this is the voice of experience than I don't want it. She is not to be trusted and we already have that problem right now with the current President and all the lies he has told. Do you really want her answering the phone to solve world problems at 3am??? I know I don't. I hadn't made my mind up on who to vote for but I do know that as of now – it won't be her! It's time to remove the old political dinosaurs and start out fresh.

Well, Sen. McCain could make some fodder, but I think he's above the fray. Only he can speak of making the nearly total sacrifice to our Nation. I am not pro-war even though I spent 27 years as a Marine. But I resent politizing a social agenda at the expense of national security. Sen. Clinton should give up the ghost right now. I am soooo tired of Clinton supporters blaming CNN for reporting good for obama and bad for clinton. Did you ever think maybe if she didn't LIE so much they wouldn't be able to report anything. They report whatever news they find out for each candidate, bad or good. Its not their fault that Hillary has so many bad stories to report cause she can't tell the difference between whats real and whats fake. This is Not a characteristic I want the next president to have, we've had enough of that with Bush.

If you listen to urban legends and repeat them in speeches without checking the facts you will get burned. If you cannot verify the source or story keep your mouth shut. I am from PA, I was a Clinton supporter. I cannot believe that she would say such a lie to play with people's emotions, just for the sake of winning people's vote. I am disappointed, really disappointed. After the Bosnia story came out, I accepted the fact that she might have mis-spoke, but I was suspicious, but after this one, there is no way i am gonna support her. Everyone that has a backbone and self-respect won't support her anymore. I feel ashamed that I supported her all this time, I express my disappointment here. My choice is clear now, it's Sen. Obama. I hope more people realize this, it's time for change. PA, IN, NC and the rest of the states, you should think about it. I supported Sen. Clinton, just because she was a women, but now I think that's totally wrong, I was wrong, I hope other women like me realize this. I do not trust Sen. Clinton anymore. I will be voting for Sen. Obama.

I'm not a Clinton supporter by any means, but I think people are blowing this out of proportion. I'm really tired of the animosity I see in the comments on this site. There is no scandal here or in half the things people are blowing their stacks over. Please try to find some civility in yourselves and try to take the high ground for once. Her supporters, and those that are undecided, refuse to accept the fact that Hill and Bill will say and/or do whatever it takes to win.

To have Clinton win the nomination, and possibly the presidential election, the thought of having the Clintons back in the White House should be a wake up call to Americans.

Clinton says she will perfectly handle from the 1st day – sure she know about all the rooms and offices of White House and nobody has to show her about it.

The story was told to Hillary by a law enforcement officer. Why would she not trust him. Many candidates tell stories that they have heard as they tour the country. Besides – how can anyone confirm this when HIPPA laws prohibit the release of information. Also, how can this hospital say that the deputy sheriff was talking about this hospital since no hospital name or patient's name was every revealed by Clinton in any of her speeches. So, how is this confirmed as the same person and hospital?

I am not buying the half-baked responce of the Clinton campagain on this one. Unfortunately, there are many people in this world seeking their "15-minutes of Fame". A savvy candidate would allow his/her staff to look into the story before sharing it in a speech. In this case, this candidate has shown us just how gullible she is – grabbing an unverified story, inserting it into her speech, and expecting us to be stroked by her shallow sense of sympathy. I fault the candidate as well as her staff on this one. It just goes to show the incompetance that surrounds this candidates. Question: How many more "apologies" like this are headed down the pike? It is obvious to me there is a credibility problem here.

Is it too hard to believe that she's becoming desperate? Having to make up stories to attract votes. Regardless of the fact that she's addressing a real issue, having to rely on lies to get that story across doesn't show good judgment or leadership. Also, I'd like to address another issue: Hillary female supporters. I find it odd reading through this post that a majority of those that support Hillary and asking people to look beyond the lying are women. Why is it that women find it so necessary to continue to support her illogically and unconditionally? I find it troubling that the need to have a woman president supersedes the fact that this woman wouldn't be a good president to begin with. It's a true shame.

This "story" is absolutely unimportant. Let's get Americans (all Americans) health insurance. Now that is important.

Sounds like a repeat of what Al Gore did when he ran. Guess Hillary is taking a playbook from his campaign. I mean after all, either HIllary is completely delusional about daily events and stories or she is just plain out right lying. If this was fox, they'd say, we report, you decide!

However, that being said, I believe that most people are over-reacting to this story. Yes, the particular story she told may not be based on truth. Yes, it is inaccurate. She is right to stop telling it. However, there is a major problem in health care. I'm not convinced her plan is the right fix, but there is a problem. It is unfortunate that her efforts to illustrate this problem were not accurate in this instance.

Hillary did not make up THIS story. She was told a story by a voter, and found that it fit nicely with her speech. Considering the multitude of false stories she has been telling, I have to wonder about the wisdom to go ahead and tell the story without confirming it. Finding out this story is false has had the unfortunate effect of turning attention away from the health problem in America and toward Hillary's strained relationship with truth.

I have to disagree with Cal Jim 2. He seems to argue that because a mother and a baby are dead, it is definitely the fault of the hospital(s) and the broken system. So by his arguement if the system gets fixed, if hospitals treat people regardless of ability to pay, if insurance were given to all, and if health care providers gave their very best to treat their patients, then no mothers or babys would ever die again.

Unfortunately, mothers do die. Babies do die. Real people with real lives die. Health care providers daily do a heroic job of treating, curing, and saving our loved ones. And yet, despite their best efforts, sometimes people die. Where negligent medical mistakes are made, then yes it is understandable to be angry with "the system." However, we have no such information that this mother or this baby were treated poorly (other than Hillary's word for it–yeah I don't trust it either). It is very likely that despite all the best efforts of all the doctors and nurses and others involved, this mother and baby would have died anyway.

I am sad that in this great nation we have so many people overcome with hate, anger, dispair, and partisan politics that we are eager to place blame without having adequate information. That goes for Sen. Clinton, Cal Jim 2, myself, and all of us that waste time posting to these comment boards...

Yea I have worked in a hospital for many years. I believe the story is completely accurate. Who in their right mind would write in a patents file that they were denied care at your facility because of money. There is way too much liability in that. If the hospital admits this, they will be sued. Sooo they document some other reason for a denial of care or indicate in the records that the patient did not need the care and move on. Don't ever believe a hospital administrator who has the tacit goal of covering up for the hospital.

Anyone who has gotten sick without insurance knows how this works. I once got ill and had no insurance. The symptoms would have clearly merited a chest x-ray. Because I did not have insurance they said I didn't need an x-ray. When I had insurance, the same symptoms merited it. They knew my insurance would pay for it, but in the first case knew I probably would not have paid for it.

You need to study this issue a little more carefuly. I come from the civilized country in central Europe where the socialized medicine = corruption and the poor people suffer even more. They will not even put you on a kidney machine if you are over 60 years old because the Government cannot afford it. Look at the problems with our medicare. Our Government needs to figure out how to lower the cost of health care first before talking about socialized medicine!

IN the speech I heard the girl could not pay her co-payment. She never saw the doctor because her co-payments was to high. Her point was that some people have insurance but sill can afford to see a doctor.

I voted for Obama anyway, but early on I would have voted for Clinton in the general election if she won the nomination. Over the last 3 months, it is crystal clear that she just doesn't belong in the White House, she belongs in the big house and/or nut house. Lies, upon lies, upon lies. His new way of politics notwithstanding, no wonder Obama never went negative. Sooner or later, he knew she would destroy herself, and so she is.

Why is everyone here surprised that a political candidate lied? They all do it and if we were to examine Obama and McCain, we would find the same thing.

The story can very well have some truth to it. I was threatened with no treatment at a hospital er room while having chest pain with a history of heart attack due to inability to pay and no insurance. However the hospital staff would not release me, over objections of the financial office. This was in Florida.
But I am an Obama supporter as I feel we need real change in Washington, not more lies of the Clintons or exaggerations of the basic truths. We have had 16 years of this already with the Clintons and Bush administations. The sad thing is, that there are alot of gullible americans who will believe everything certain politicians say.

It's amazing that we never hear any anti-republican stories now that the Cheney News Network has been scared into not ever saying anything bad about the publicans. We are prepared with the fact that we need to eat everyday, and for the most part, we can control the amount of food we need to purchase with our money. Same with clothes. If I want to purchase a $200 pair of jeans...that is ultimately my decision. I'm not expecting anyone to pay those kind of bills for me.

I'm wondering if Hillary even knows the difference between the truth and a lie. She is obviously accustomed to saying whatever sounds good to the public regardless of it's truth. When she is speaking, she appears to be totally insincere – just grasping for anything that will convince the public to vote for her.
She's obviously part of the good ole boy network. Fool as many people as you can as quickly as you can, get elected and let the chips fall where they may.
I hope any voters who are still being mislead by her "knowledge" and "experience" will wake up and see how she has been distorting the facts.

This is NOT Clinton's lie. Someone told Clinton a story that was a lie and I would feel really bad if I was that guy. I just wonder why that wasn't mentioned in the article; only that the story was false. The media is really against Clinton, no doubt about that.

What really bothers me about this story is that in the long run it really hurts the cause of health care because those that are against universal health care can point to this and say "See, see! there really isn't a problem, it is all made up." This is much more important to the American people in the long run than anyones individual candidacy.
The issue of health care is very real in the US aand negative stories just hurt the chances of finding a solution.
Michele above is right. Preventative care is so much cheaper than hospitalization and other emergency care. In Oregon the average cost to taxpayers for un-covered emergency care is $600 per year. In other words we are paying for emergency care but not preventaticve care. One of the raesons we have by far the highest health costs in the world and yet over a third of our citizens are not coverd is that lack. When people aren't covered by insurance they don't go to a doctor until it is an emergency. Then we pay for it.
There are tens of thousands of stories every year of the problems with inadequate health care. Hillary is not at fault for wanting to find a story that illistrates the tragedy of a country that spends more in health care than any other country yet is way down the list of industrialized countries for coverage.
What Hillary is at fault for is not verifying the story. She couldn't that stupid as to believe that with all the dirt diggers there are today that the true story won't come out. And as I said, it doesn't harm her as much as it harms the cause of universal health care. Rush and his buddies will go to town with this one!

Here we go again. She didn't get the facts about Iraq and it got us into a war without end that has drained our economy. Now a story as emotional and heartfelt, enough to create a rage to go attack hospitals, except it is false, and she didn't take the time to gather the facts. God help Hilary. It's unfortunate you bloggers don't look at the whole story. She was told the "no insurance" story by the Sheriff deputy. They have video of the story. You would think the man would not lie about this story but apparently did. Does she have to check every story told to her? Before you start accusing Clinton of lying about this incident, you don't know what was told to her and why she repeated it. If it was made up by the person telling her then its that person who is at fault not her. Also, hospitals like to cover up things as well that shows them discriminating against people without health insurance. Clinton was only repeating what she was told and therefore she cannot be blamed for any errors that were made.

The most appalling thing about Hillary's use of this story is that IF she had really believed that it was true, then why didn't she call for an immediate investigation by the state, and by the congress?

Hospitals that receive federal funding such as medicare are not allowed to turn away patients in the way that she states. This is why so many hospitals are in such dire financial crisises. If the hospital would have done what she said it did, the hospital would have been fined at least $50,000 for just that one incident. If that was a common practice, it would have been fined $50,000 for EACH incident, lost its federal funding and accredidation!

Hillary Cllinton, as a US Senator, and the great policy wonk of health care, would know that!

The second appalling part of the lie was that she lead people to believe that if they do not have $100 or insurance, then why bother going to the hospital because they will just be turned away!!!

The third appalling thing is that she has insulted all of the nurses, doctors, and other hospital staff and grouped them all into a stereotype of uncaring healthcare system, instead of addressing the fact that the insurance companies and special interests and congress, of which she is a part of, are responsible for the fact that we do not have universal health care.

If someone told her the story, then she (or whoever) should have checked the facts. What kind of POTUS is she going to make? A yes woman, who just takes the word of other people without checking facts? Maybe...

I've done a lot of hiring in my career, and if I ever discovered that an applicant had falsified the work and resume they submitted, and then lied to me in the interview about the extent of their experience, I simply wouldn't hire them. Something that doesn't seem to get mentioned is that when you take credit for something you didn't do, you're stealing that credit from the person or people who actually did the work. In my industry, getting caught doing this typically results in getting blacklisted because it shows that you're an unethical, untrustworthy individual. I apply the same standards to Presidential candidates, and Hillary needs to be blacklisted.

The media must love the Clintons, and this is probably why Hillary is still in the race; can you imagine any other candidate raising so many controvercies?

I have trouble believing that the story is not true. Of course the hospital would deny turning a patient away, especially one that later dies due to complications that could have been prevented. Without exact proof of what happen, Clinton has to drop the story, but I bet there is more truth to it than not. The system always cheats the little guy, and the big guy gets away with murder.

Never been a fan of the Clinton's, but I always gave them the benefit of my doubts about their truthfulness. NO MORE! The "hospital story" was bad, but her speech in Memphis observing MLK. . . That was not to be believed. She "hurled"(?) her book bag across the room? Book bags in 1968? Tears? What garbage!

It is time for Mrs Clinton to drop out of the race before she completely discredits the Democratic party and has longtime supporters flee to the Republican party for many years to come hurting not only this women in Ohio but many many more nationwide!!!

This is another one of those-get Clinton stories that is a non-story. She didn't name the hospital. Obama gets a walk on big lies–Clinton's speeches are parsed to the smallest detail. This is Clinton re-telling a story told to her on the campaign trail..Should we now go back a vet all stories people are told on the road..How many will be 100% accurate. Even though I believe that Hillary Clinton likes to lie to boost her credentials, I think this particular misrepresented story from Hillary was a mistake that is not her fault. A video has been shown where a supporter was recounting the story to Hillary before she started using the story on the stump. So nobody should blame her for telling that story because she did not make it up. She heard it from a supporter.

I think we should, however, hold Hillary accountable for the BOSNIA lie because it is evidence that there is something pathological about her lies. She told that BOSNIA story at least 3 times which means that she told a lie, believed in it, and mislead the American people. We do not need such a leader after what has happened with this current administration that has told les, believed in them, and acted on them. It is either Obama or no one else.

Here in Kansas I know a similar thing exists. My former neighbor had no insurance. She was pregnant. If she had gone to the hospital on her own they wouyld not accept her. So when she was ready to give birth she was transported by ambulance. Pregnancy is not a disease nor is it an emergency so they do not have to accept you.

Adn here is a worse story than that a veteran was transported to a VA Center for an emergency situation. It turns out the VA Center had no ER. The EMTs actually dropped this man off the stretcher. The only person that came out to check on him was a non-medical person. The veteran died right outside oa VA Center in Oregon I believe.

I am sure Hillary's campaign tried to vet the story but Privacy Rights prevail. I know about privacy concerns because my privacy rights were violated by my therapist at the Vet Center in Wichita, KS. I know more than I want to.

Go to your local Hospital, tell them you have no medical insurance. see for yourself what kind of treatment you receive!

There is a law called EMTALA that specifically requires all hospitals to treat persons who present to the emergency room, and even has a provision for a woman in labor. The fine for not doing so is extraordinary, so I highly doubt this person was turned away, even if she did not have insurance. I do not disagree that our healthcare system needs extensive reforms, but this story is simply outrageous.

One more thing – who is checking the truth of what CNN reports? We all tend to believe everything it reports as fact.

My 22 year-old nephew has no insurance and had a $5,000 medical bill from a hospital emergency room. The hospital told my sister that if the bill wasn't paid, he would not be allowed to come back, period.

No doubt the story is true and the hospital is trying to cover their butt.

I voted for Clinton in our state primary in early February. I am dumb struck by her repeated foot and mouth disease. And quite frankly all the political fader between the Clinton and Obama camps and supports, is her own fault. I still think she would make a much better President than Obama but if she looses the nomination she will have nobody but herself to blame.

This doesn't surprise me one bit...when I first heard her tell this story I questioned it then. Being in the medical field, I thought it highly unlikely that someone in this woman's condition would not be treated because she had no insurance, This is part of the problem with our healthcare system. As a long time Nurse this problem occurs more frequently than what people know. With the economy failing and more people losing jobs or being forced to take jobs without insurance to support their families, the amount of individuals and families without insurance is rising. Hardworking, regular everyday people don't have access to medications and needed medical treatment because of the rising cost of healthcare. Even those that have jobs which provide insurance, many can't afford because of the rising cost of employee paid portion. As the cost of insurance goes higher, the benefit coverage decreases. If the presidental candidates truly have an interest in what is happening in everyday America, they should spend a day with me at my hospital and see what actually is occuring. The Kentucky primary is coming up and this would be the perfect opportunity to actually have knowledge of the real issues affecting everyday people.

At least she should have said, "While we haven't been able to corroborate this story, I heard from a voter I met in...." Even if the story was true, it doesn't support the need for "universal" health care. The U.S. doesn't have a "health care" problem. We have a "health" problem. When a majority of our health care dollars are spent on diseases that could be prevented or minimized if we took better care of ourselves, that is a "health" problem. Granted, pregnancy doesn't fall into this category, but universal health care doesn't necessarily encourage us to take better care of ourselves. Any health care system needs to focus more on preventive health care and not just providing dollars for diseases that could be prevented.

Just read the San Jose Mercury News from last Friday and you will find an article that gives the facts on how many people die a day and a month in California because they do not have health insurance. There is no way you can take this topic and blow it out of proportion. It is a fact and a reality that people die daily because they don't have health insurance. People need to understand how this issue is affecting millions of lives in the US. I will definitely support Hillary for fighting to help those less fortunate and for trying to get her message across.

I finally realized what is happening here. Have you seen Stephen King's "The Langoliers?" There is a time/space equilibrium warp and some beings with teeth come in at the end of each day and "eat" everything and then the next day is "constructed."

This is sad CNN. I have a lot of respect for your news broadcasting, it's my favorite in fact. Your headline which claims that Hillary's hospital story is false is terrible news reporting and once again shows your inability to stay neutral. The article states only that one particular hospital, not even confirmed by the hospital or Clinton, is saying it is not true. Of coarse a hospital at the center of a terrible claim is going to deny the allegations. Instead of reporting dirty headlines, try something more appropriate and dare I say true, like " Hillary's story challenged by hospital in question". It may very well be true that these stories are falsified or changed to help Hillary, but until it is found to be absolutely true, report it as an allegation, not a conviction. This country is founded upon the principle of innocence until otherwise proven. Come on CNN, you're better than this one sided reporting you've been doing throughout this campaign.

Clinton should always check the accuarcy of her stories before telling them, she keep lying about things that never happen or things that she never under went but once she is caught she and her serrogates will try to come up with one excuse or the other to deffend them selves. If she will be so ready from day one as she claims to be how come she never check the accuracy of her stories. Few weeks ago she lied that she was been under sniper attack while she was on a trip oversea with her daughter, she was caught red handed then she later blamed it to sleep deprivation. If she cant tell the the American people the truth then how can she answer the phone at three a.m if elected? She voted and sent our troops to war but when asked she stated that the way the resolution was written didnt show or give the president the authorization to wage a war against the Iraqi people. Please she might need some one to teach her how to read and comprehend at the same time, Obama might be a good teacher for her if she can stop castigating him and making John Mccain look better.

Had Clinton not been caught lying about other "stories", I'd be more inclined to be sympathetic to her on this one. Frankly, when I hear her talking, I don't have any idea whether I can believe her or not. I don't know her personally, so how am I supposed to know when she is telling me the truth or not? Is it 80% truth today, 90% truth tomorrow, 70% truth the next day? Unfortunately, this is exactly how I feel about George Bush. I can never know when he is telling the truth either. I don't care for George Bush for this reason. I feel the same about the Clintons. I'll be voting for Obama this year.

There is such a thing as fact checking. Journalists use it all over the world. If Hillary's team can not get their act together and provide truth to her speeches then for me her credibility ship is sinking fast. I was a Hillary supporter, but she has become dishonest and untrustworthy in my eyes. I do not want the type of president who will do any and everything to win. I want someone how can be honest, thoughtful, have independent thoughts and not resort to lies and unpleasant bickering. As of last month I have transported by political affections to Obama, who appears to be a more trustworthy candidate, and does not need to fabricate stories to get his points across to the public. Get your act together Hillary!

Where did the notion come from that health care is something that someone else should pay for instead of our taking the responsibility ourselves? No one pays for my food, no one pays for my clothes, no one pays for my housing. Why should I expect someone else to pay for my health care?
