Mark Penn has resigned his post as chief strategist to the Clinton campaign.

(CNN) - Mark Penn has given up his role as chief strategist for the Clinton campaign, it was announced Sunday.

"After the events of the last few days, Mark Penn has asked to give up his role as Chief Strategist of the Clinton Campaign; Mark, and Penn, Schoen and Berland Associates, Inc. will continue to provide polling and advice to the campaign," Clinton Campaign Manager Maggie Williams said in a statement.

Sources in the Clinton campaign tell CNN's Mike Roselli Penn realized over the weekend that he needed to step aside, and that Clinton was disappointed that he had met with the Colombians.

I am wondering do Hillarys major supports go along with another unfair trade agreement? If any of them do, how will they explain their willingness to support the backroom deals to deceive their very own local, and statewide voting public?
We need to call this primary what it is, a woman and her mafia running a campaign to steal what ever they can from all Americans.

Mark Penn is still an advisor so Hillary can continue to SAY ANYTHING TO WOO THE VOTERS and WINK WINK TO SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP!

I guess Hillary thinks AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE STUPID AND THEY WILL BELIEVE WHATEVER SHE SAYS. Just look at how many people follow her in the HILLARY'S FANTASY LAND!

LOL! So it's alright for Penn to continue to advise the Clinton campaign after the shady double talk with the NAFTA dealings? Why not cut ties with Penn altogether? Makes no sense. Then again, it does make sense. The Clintons want to keep Penn close so he can continue to get those CAFTA dealings completed. After all, it was Bill Clinton that put NAFTA into progress. The Clintons are allergic to being honest and their whole campaign revolves around fooling stupid and uninformed voters.

This is a big issue. One of her chief strategists working with her on her campaign, while at the same time working on a free trade deal. I hope the voters in Pen are paying attention!!!! This could cost her the state!!!

Maya, don't try to turn this around on Obama. I really feel sorry for people like you who have to hide behind your lies. Because if you truly believe in someone like Billary, then you must share her morrows, lieing, being a hypocrit, being self centered and only for themself.

Thank God for Karma – you better look in the mirror to see the truth and not just the jaded reflection or you'll find yourself reaping what you soe...

This is her do-do – Obama's be trying to run a straight and clean campaign cause that's the way he would want to President or country – but miss Billary is doing any and everything she can do to win – again, the way she would run our country.

Wake up and smell your own do-do.
Quit being a troll, this is billary's s(hit)! Not Baracks!!!

What a sneaky hippocrate. Her campaiger strategist played the same double face talking to please the Columbians for profit and advised Hillary about trade. She is a total phony, a dishonest woman. Now, she says more twists to come, trying to drag Obama in hot water. No. she thinks we are stupid. Go retire with your $109 million.

"will continue to provide polling and advice to the campaign"

    How "presidential"

Maybe he can chip in as an accounts payable clerk or as a fund raiser as they're obviously short staffed there.

Hillary likes to talk about all the problems Bush has caused and presents herself as a problem solver. If she goes on to run the country the way she's managed her campaign, there will continue to be no shortage of problems for her to talk about solving.

Can you say double speak. Why is he advising if he is fired. I heard him speak on CNN saying how the obama campaign says one thing and does another.

Hillary said the same thing about the canadian affair.

unknown to most is that msnbc reported that it was actually said that senator clinton is not as a harsh critic as she appears on the stump.

I am tired of being lied to

I am voting for a better future for America and that is Barack Obama

Please realise we are the Democratic party first

If you really care about the issues you wouldn't vote for mccain who is far removed in our democratic ideals.

I have a gut feeling that Obama, plus a sound Cabinet and any Congressional make-up, is going to take the United States of America back to its former glory. Your country is on it's back and needs to recover quickly. THE WORLD IS WATCHING!!!

When will people realize...Hillary is NOT the best choice for president!! She has run a SHODDY campaign, squantered millions of dollars and made countless mistakes, missteps and *MISSPEAKS*. Obama, by contrast, has pretty much run a flawless, upbeat and positive campaign. Why do you people STILL back her??

To North Carolina–better get your facts straight–Hillary didn't fire Penn–he decided to step down BUT she is keeping him on for advice-

Hillary's own conduct reflects her campaign Strategist- Double talk and Conflict of Intrest. She cannot be trusted to hold ANY public office.

Thanks for making the right decision. The Obama supporters are full of it. Hillary had nothing to do with Penn's phone call. Penn is gone so leave Hill alone.

Hillary will win the nomination on the convention floor.

So he quits his main role with the campagin, but the HRC says that he is still going to be around to give advice...This is funny...What's the difference? He probably wasnt getting paid anyway because Hillary Clinton had already announced she wasn't paying her top staff. Enough with the games.

  23. Wake Up Pennsylvania

Mark Penn – contacts the Colombian government over a pending free-trade deal, despite HRC's criticism of the U.S.-Colombia trade pact.
HRC – we were under sniper attack in Bosnia
James Carville – compared Bill Richardson to Judas
Maggie Williams – involved with mortgage companies stealing from the poor
Geraldine Ferraro – Obama's winning because he's not white
Patti Solis Doyle – fired and replaced with Maggie Williams
William Jefferson Clinton – "Jesse Jackson won South Carolina in '84 and '88. Jackson ran a good campaign. And Obama ran a good campaign here.

    Need more?

The people that say Clinton shud get out and she is a loser better start thinking for themselves, although it is hard with all the negative news the media unfairly gives her. CNN is one of the worst. Lou
Dobbs even did a show about how unfairly Clinton has been reported.
I still don't understand why Americans cannot see things for themselves. They stand with a man (who I did back in the beginning) that went to a small chuch after the Nevada primary and spoke to the congregation and told them to listen to their leaders, pastors and even gang leaders because when he becomes President there will be a meeting and there will be new rules for the black man.
After that Wright comes in the picture and dams America, whites and Jews. Wake up people he is not who he seems to be.
And you make remarks about Bosnia?
Of course he generates more money that Clinton, he has an open checkbook with Oprah! By the way, Oprah is a REPUBLICAN, and all of a sudden she is backing a democrate? Of course she says it is not because he is black!
Also, Hillary Clinton is not behind in the polls if you count Michigan and Florida. Both names were up for vote in Florida and Clinton won it and it shud be counted. Obama had his name on in Michigan and the last minute toke his name off. His own fault. I thought this was the UNITED States of America not the United States of America excluding Michigan and Florida!!
People please open your eyes and ears and listen to everythng. I was once for Obama until I realized what he really is. There is something wrong inside him he is hiding.
