WHY is this OBAMA's fault? I fail to understand that why is it that every time someone says something it's SEN. OBAMA's fault?

This is getting absolutely childish and foolish...

Sen. McCain needs to GROW up, he certainly didn't apologize for Rev. Haggee's slandering and racists comments about the resident's of LA.

Give me a freakin break!!!

McCain better get a grip....or he'll never survive November against Obama. What a baby....

Rockefeller and Obama are cut from the same cloth. Obama doesn't dare dirty his hands - rather calling on surrogates to attach John McCain.

But hey - all you Obama-bots calling on John McCain to "deal with it".. yall certainly won't mind when America is reintroduced to B. Hussein Obama. Right?

It makes you mad doesn’t Senator McCain? It’s disrespectful and unfair isn’t it Senator?

Now…here is what I would tell McCain if I were Obama. I’ll apologies to you just as quick as you return the money you have taken form the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, and apologize for what they said about Kerry. Until then you can just sit there and be mad (and be a hypocrite).

the comment was made by a Senator who's a self-acknowleged obama supporter and the call to denounce it is from a Senator and McCain supporter. To pretend it doesn't potentially 'help' obama is insincere at
best, the point is to put it 'out there' even if you take it back later. It's standard old school politics on behalf of the candidate of c h a n g e. He has to try to tarnish a war hero and POW's record somehow, someway
and this is how you begin.

Connie;

Obviously you have never heard of the Tuskegee Experiment? It lasted from 1932 to 1972. The US Government allow poor black men infected with the clap to infect their family and lovers and they didn't treat them for the disease even though help was available. That is why someone might think that the government would do something like that.

Never before in the course of presidential politics have there been so many whiners. We've turned into a society of complainers and whiners. Everyone is called upon to disavow the words of someone else.

Why not hold those people who speak the words accountable and leave everyone else out of it. Is your favorite candidate responsible for the things that you say on a daily basis? The only difference is, these other supporters have the spotlight and we as "John Q. Public" do not.

Everyone needs to get off of their high horses. Chill out! Settle down! Get a life!!!! This whining and complaining needs to stop. Immediately!!!

As a Viet Nam vet (Air Force) I don't feel that Sen. Obama has to apologize for anything that he didn't say. I remember when Obama entered the Senate and McCain ask him to work on some legislation with him. Obama asked that he check with the Democratic leadership and McCain blew his top and called Sen. Obama all sorts of vile names. Did McCain apologize for his outburst? No he didn't and hasn't to this day. If McCain skin is that thin, he should go home to mommy and leave the game to grownups.

I know Sen. Rockefeller (and I am a Republican). He is a good man (I disagree with him on things) and he is honorable. The problem is that he got caught up in the illogical hysteria of campaign hyperbole and, combined with a lack of personal experience with military service (not a slap -- a statement of fact), stepped into to it with his comments.

One can serve honorably and have a different view. Similarly, one can not serve and be a good, patriotic person. The problem is when we get caught up in the BS and forget that we are all supposed to be on the same team.

I am so sick of you Obama supporters such idiots. If someone attacks Obama, you want the other candidate to denounce or even fire their supporters, but if Obama's supporters attack, you guys think that it is ok.
Obviously Obama has never served in the military nor had family members fight and die for the very freedoms he takes for granted. I oppose this war but not war itself when our men and women are defending our freedom and sacrificing their lives to make life better for us. I am the daugher, spouse and mother-in-law to verterans of WWII, Vietnam and Iraq.

Connie, Obama has truely not denounced wright yet along with other disgusting hateful stereotype comments made by him, his wife, by the radicals in the democratic party or by his campaign etc.
Whites, Italians, Jews and the United states of America have all been commented on in a disgusting hateful way yet no word from Obama.
Today we was all saying at work how the coverage of Obama is very one sided/biased and I just hope the ocverage gets more even handed as up to now it has been in favor for Obama

I don't think we had lasers at that time. But, we had these rabid anti war communist revolutionaries. They are the opposite of warmongers. both are unthinking extremists. It is over the top; to call McCain a warmonger.
When he is not representing his family business, Exxon,Sen Rockefeller has more than once used his position on the senate intel subversively to promote Democrat candidates.
Those who say Obama is not responsible are probably part of the moral relativist crown who always try to explain wrongdoing away somehow. They perpetuate the conditions where schools don't teach and untutored youth join drug gangs before going to prison. They don't see the connection between morlity and a happy life.

I'm not a McCain supporter, but even I know that you can't attack a soldier for doing his job. McCain performed his duties commendibly and he should be treated no less than the soldier he is.

That said, I don't believe having survived a war makes one qualified for the position of POTUS. I don't think he should be president, but I gratefully thank John for his service to our country.

Poor McCain! At last, some are summoning the courage to question his 'hero' status. Hundreds of thousands of brave, courageous men and women have put their lives on the line for this absurd war. Why is McCain a hreo simply bc. he was captured?! I agree with Howard Dean. McCain is an opportunist! And I agree with Ed Schultz. He is a war monger by any definition. This is not a smear but merely an accurate depiction of the man's insane lust for war. remember; "Bomb bomb bomb! Bomb bomb Iran!"

I wish the media would cover Obama in more detail as I wouldn't have voted for him knowing what I know now and much of what I know is not from the usual media outlets.
I voted for Obama thinking he was about change but this was before his lies came out , his horrible stereotype remarks about whites.
Don't hold your breath for Obama to denounce this, he hasn't denounced Rev wright fully yet nor has he denounced other hateful and sometimes racist language from his supporters.
The more and more I find out about Obama the more I do not ever want to see him in the white house and if the media did their job and reported fully about Obama then neither would most of this country.
Or this the real reason why they don't report about Obama as they want Obama

Vietnam War- John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Democrats

If you want to be taken seriously at least have a good argument before you open your mouth.

If know anything about dropping a laser-guided missiles from 35,000 feet, you know the jet islong gone when they hit. It to late to worry about the people on the ground because you can't call the missiles back ,so why is this a insult to all the men and women who are serving or have served in America's military." Now if target civilian thats something else

New Jersey, usually a democratic stronghold in presidential elections, is going to be a swing state this year in the election between McCain and Obama. Kerry won NJ with 5% margin. With McCain, that margin disappears. NJ voters do not care about Iraq war as much as they do about the big pharmaceutical and big financial companies closing their doors. Obama has declared a war on big business. Indeed, the democrats have been waging a war against big business. And then they are surprised that American jobs are being lost. I want to know what Obama will do for big business os they can create more jobs.

I am a democrat and have really gone off Obama,
Obama will not say anything as he hasn't got any guts to do so, until he clarifies his racist comments about typical white people and white folks greed, until he stands up to the radical left wing of the party which is destroying the party, until he clarifies his wifes racist writings in college and her I'm now proud and until he tells his racist pastor he was wrong then I along with my family will never look at this man as a man of conviction or a man of actions, he's been just words so far.
We as democrats are supposed to stand up to hate , not let racists get away with their rantings and now we have a racist running for our nomination.
I also await for him to clarify why he is friends with a terrorist, from the weather undergound.
I hope this time my comment gets added as usually they never on CNN

Are all Senators nuts?

IF what Rockefeller said is not true than McCain should call on Rockefeller to apologize.

And, has Rockefeller endorsed Obama? I do not think so.

But even if he did endorse him …. never mind.

This is just too childish.

NEWS ALERT...to all those who need clarification. Although McCain and his campaign are trying to make it seem like this....neither...Obama...nor...his...campaign...are...saying...this. Do I need to repeat this??? So why, oh why, would anyone thing Obama needs to renounce what Rockefeller said? If Obama wishes to, he can make a comment on it. But it's not his responsibility to denounce him, as he is not on Obama's campaign, nor was he speaking on Obama's behalf. Give me a BREAK, people (and that includes McCain, his campaign, and all the Hillary and McCain supporters who are trying to spin it like it's something he needs to do).

BSY-Nobody criticized Wright for his service to this country, we criticized his condemnation of the United States of America from the pulpit. We condemned his lies about the government creating AIDS to rid the world of blacks. We condemn his lies!

A little truth once in a while wouldn't hurt.

Facts?:

Iraq was never a threat to the U.S. and with its limited GDP, would have never been a threat; ever. Thats a fact; even with WMD, the threat we would present is far to overwhelming.

Al Qeada would be crushed by the larger Shia Militas in Iraq and they could actually find them; they are simply not allowed to mobilize. That; sadly is a fact.

Iran's only real threat is economic and its the sole worry we have when leaving Iraq. Really, really; we are dyeing over a possible 15% (guess) fluctuation in the economy.

The United States is under threat were we are not; that threat is only growing by the CIA estimates I've seen.

Is Obama responsible for all people who support him? If he is, then he has to talk with a lot of people. Is that realistic? No, not really; not for anyone. If Obama asked him to say it, then it show that there is cause for concern. I doubt that there is anyone in the Obama campaign that asked for that statement.

To ask Obama to appoligize for everything that had been said is foolish and unrealistic. Take it in stride McCain... I thought that you could tolerate more than that.

Hey Andy,
It's not "America right or Wrong" History pretty much shows that Vietnam was wrong, history will also show that Iraq was an unjust war, 98% of the world believes it.

A true patriot stands up for what is right, unafraid to tell the truth. Minions follow blindly, they are the weak.

Andy, I appreciate you willing to endanger your life and others if you joined for the purpose of protecting America, but not all join for that reason and when was the last time we fought a war for that reason? Think hard and answer yourself as truthfully as you can.

Lets see a US Democratic Senator talks about the Republican nominee for President- Sen. McCain- also known as Bush III. Folks want Obama to denounce. I guess McCain will be saying the same when those swiftboat type adds start rolling in.

I guess we are really into SILLY SEASON.

It is a different experience with a culture, where you are thousands of feet in the air using laser guided missles (which DID exist and WERE used) - then to be captured and tourtured.

I'm not sure how most people in the US would feel about a guantanamo bay terrorist suspect being tortured (like wat, erboarding), if there was one who was regularly blowing up towns that had military bases in them... well, if they actually survived my personal reaction to that, when they got back home, I doubt they could say the held a perspective that wasn't based in anything but utter disgust for me and my people.
So... McCain may be a hero and suffered horribly, but I doubt he can make decisions about current enemies without that experience leveraging the outcome substancially. - then again, he is about a million years old and may barely remember more than what he's had written in speeches for him.

The most difficult thing to do in our country is to criticize ill-conceived wars and foreign policy without opening one's self to charges of being unpatriotic. Rockefeller could do well to think about how he expresses such concerns. Even if a US military action, like Vietnam or Iraq, is stupid, morally questionable, and a disaster for our country, one has to realize that the men and women in our armed forces are risking and losing their lives. They need to believe that what they are doing is justifiable. This is one of the many costs of such a stupid move as Iraq, to waste the heroism and sacrifice of our armed forces in a "war" that costs so much to the combatants and innocent victims.

I wonder if McCain is so onboard with the Iraq fiasco because he was never able to come to terms with his own sacrifices in Vietnam. There are many parallels between Vietnam and Iraq. It was extraordinarily painful for many combatants to hear that their fighting was immoral or useless, not to mention coming home to a less than enthusiastic welcome. It is unacceptably painful for many Americans to ever admit that the country can do wrong with it's policies and armed forces. One has to draw the painful conclusion that America is great because of what we do, not because we are inherently infallible. If what we do is wrong or stupid, then we must stand tall and admit it, and apologize first to the men and women who fought the fight for people like Dick Cheney and his ilk. That being said, Rockefeller's comments are detestable.

McCain has some war experience about 35 years ago To become president one does not need that only experience.Does he understands any thing about ecnomics issues effectg common people like health care and jobs. Haveing come from rich elite family
he is unfit to be Present.
Does America want to stay in one war or other all the time I hope not !
Give peace a chance. Country is already in severe ecnomic downturn. Strong countries are ecnomically strong. If they fight all the time to become imperial power I rememwhat happened to ROME.
Wisdom does not always come with experience or age......Example BUSH. What good he has done in last 8 years.DOES ANY COUNTRY RESPECT AMERICA ANYMORE

As a republican in WV I have had to listen to Jay Rockefeller's mouth since the 70's.He first was against coal mining ,then when he saw it was a mistake,he did a quick 180 on the subject.I personally have been thinking about voting for Obama in Nov.remarks like this don't help.McCain deserves the respect of all Americans. You might not agree with his policies but we all owe him respect. If any candidate wants to win WV they need to get the NRA and gun owners endorsement.

We need to get the seniles out of the Senate and House of Representatives. I think Rockefeller has forgotten that he knew there were no Laser Guided missiles in 1967.

Rockefeller needs to retire gracefully before he forgets his way back to his home every evening.

as i welcome myself to the land of stupid, bored, underinformed ,overly opinioned, circular logicly challanged, and unfortunately, registered to vote people, i offer the following: nobody cares what JR says, said, or will do, therefore why should Obama denounce anything; next, anyone who thinks being a POW is a political advantage is an idiot, because if it was a political advantage they would all do it; finally, being a POW and or pilot in a war may not make JM a hero in everone's book but he served his country and his life was on the line (kind of like HC at the airport in Bosnia or BO in ....... , nevermind).

People are getting so out of hand in this election. I'm not a supporter of John McCain, far from it, but I read these blogs just about everyday and I just can't believe some of the nonsense. I don't think anyone doubts (except for the guy making the idiotic comments above) that John McCain is a war hero. We need to start talking about the issues.
Could we PLEASE start talking about how we are going to fix our economy. Could we PLEASE start talking about how we are going to better educate our children. Could we PLEASE start talking about how we are going to CONSTRUCTIVELY end the war. Could we PLEASE start talking about how were are going to stop the mortage meltdown. Just to name a few.

Hey Debby -- the Obama campaign did not make these comments, Sen Rockefeller did. And while all of us support our troops who fight in harms way, patriotism does not mean that you blindly support stupid decisions made by our government to send our troops to war in the first place.

I have seen no valid reason to question Sen Obama's patriotism. He has simply made clear that as Presidient, he commits to THINK SENSIBLY before acting -- as opposed to the callous and costly manner that our current administration has.

I can only hope that Sen McCain, if elected, would do the same.
