Clinton: I have different attitude than my husband

 Clinton campaigned in Pittsburgh Wednesday.
Clinton campaigned in Pittsburgh Wednesday.

(CNN) - Hillary Clinton said Wednesday she has long disagreed with her husband on issues of free trade.

"I have a long record of being on a different attitude toward trade than my husband does," she said in Pittsburgh. "I don't think any married couple I know agrees on everything. And we disagree on this."

Bill Clinton has indicated in the past he supports free trade with Colombia. The New York senator is now sharply critical of the measure and said she will work to see it is not authorized by Congress.

Asked Wednesday if she had talked about this issue with her husband, she said "we talk about everything."

8 years of Bill's presidency counts for her experience but he's policies that failed do not. The more you talk, you angrier I get for taking us Americans as fools.
    Just go away.

ok, just give back the $800,000 that your husband took from the Colombians . . . . . oh yeah, I forgot, you're using it to finance your campaign.

How about Mark Penn or Wolfson? They work in your campaign, and share Bill's views. So Hillary, if you are your "own" woman, and you "are" the one running for president, not Bill, then denounce and repudiate their opinion on the Colombian trade agreement, and immediately discharge them from your campaign.

If " the history of suppression and targeted killings of labor organizers in Colombia" changes, will Hillary support the Dubai port deal then?

Yes Clinton, we want to believe what you are saying but I dont think you would have believed if it was someoene else in your shoes. McCain is also has a different attitude than Bush so is Obama with his surrogates. You are running a campaign of smear so it is hard for anyone to see if you are being honest or not. Were it that it is Obama in that situation, you would be all over the place like a chicken wanting to lay eggs. Now, do us a favour and stop lying. You are only saying this to get votes.

As you did with Mark Penn, tell him to bolt from the campaign. A lot of hypocrisy here. When you were the first lady, you nodded as Bill campaigned for free trade. You gave thumbs up to NAFTA. Now that you're campaigning for the Democratic Party presidential ticket, you want to distance yourself from Bill. And you want Americans and a dippy immigrant like me from a Third World to believe you. Hillary, you're very cunning. Two weeks ago, you said one can't choose his family, but can choose his/her preacher. This was in reference to the Jeremiah Wright controversy. You anticipated Bill's fraternizing with proponents of free trade would be blown out. What a clever preemptive strike! You can't fool all the people all the time.

    Hello People,
Do you not see the writing on the wall. Bill sold advanced services based on his wife becoming president. Hillary and Bill owe the American people nothing, but they do owe some rich/powerful people so who do you think will benefit next year.

Hillary is, once again, the best person for this country. What people don't seem to understand is that it's ok to change your mind on things once you get more information. She may have been in agreement with NAFTA early on, but as things came to light that showed our country did not strongly benefit from NAFTA....as it currently stands....she changed her mind about it. So what! Most people change their minds about things once they realize it's not working very well.

I'm glad that she will publicly acknowledge that she and Bill do not agree on NAFTA....but she will be the one running things and not him. I like Bill, despite all of his flaws, but he won't be the one running the country.

It seems a very complex concept for the over-simplified rants and raves but Hillary is her own person. Good for her. Although sexist attitudes and nay-sayers will still babble about 'billary" – you do know that was the cry of the ultra-right wing during the Clinton administration. I wish the average voter was smart enough to know the difference.

Hang in there Hillary – you are winning in electoral votes – remember November!

  13. Just Imagine

Hillary has alwyas been her own person and would make a great President. Now if only the men for men only club would step up to the plate and vote for her – not to mention all the African Americans that always liked her and have gone Obama's way out of guilt or pressure would be "your own person" like Hillary – this could turn out to be the best election ever.

Imagine everone voting for the person they really want!!!

Noticed she did not answer the question if she talked to Bill about it. She answered a different question by saying "we talk about everything." I'm sure there are plenty of things they don't talk about. She avoided the issue.

Do you really believe that Bill is not going to be involved in setting policy. How does it look to the rest of the world when the President is going in one direction and the "First Man" is actively supporting another direction. This woman doesn't have consensus in her own household. She can't even convince her own husband to support a viewpoint. How can she convince Republicans and the rest of the nation. Forget about reaching across the aisle. You need to reach across your own dinner table first.

She's her own woman! She has put her own special twist on how to lie and deceive the voters. Nice going, Hillary. Remember people: Carl Bernstein, who wrote the book on Hillary, called her a "serial liar." Bill Safire of the NYT, a respected journalist, has called her a "congenital liar." It's not like these are unsubstantiated charges.
As far as the "endorsement" from Mrs. Edwards, uh, that's not big news. Both Hillary and Mr. Edwards are on record as favoring mandates - which are dead on arrival in Congress no matter how much of a majority the Dems have. Remember that thing called the filibuster?
Obama has the RIGHT solutions for America.

there are some Hillary supporters in here that really need to open there eyes to what a bunch of lies she is all about. I think what your seeing in the democratic party is much like in the republican you have your right wing conservative Christians on one side and people like john Mc Same on the other. In the Democratic party you have those extreme progressive liberals like Obama and then you have the ones like Hillary who really are neither republican nor democrat they just use the party to there on devices when need to weed these people out of the party! and get back to what we really stand for no more Clinton Lies!!!! Bye Bye Baby and you wonder why Obama is not paying her any attention he knows she will lose same as the rest of us it is only time! and with who he is bringing in the party we don't need the backstabbing, lying, two faced democrats like these any longer time for a stronger party and stronger America.

    Go Obama 08
