Chelsea Clinton has campaigned hard for her mother.
Chelsea Clinton has campaigned hard for her mother.

(CNN)—Chelsea Clinton will mark her 100th college campus appearance Thursday at Villanova University.

The former and potential future first daughter spent the early part of her mother’s presidential campaign out of public eye living in New York. However she has stepped to the forefront of the campaign in recent months as she seeks to garner support from younger voters, the majority of whom have supported Barack Obama’s White House bid.

Obama and Hillary Clinton ran evenly in Massachusetts and California among voters under 30 and Clinton won the youth vote in Arkansas, but large majorities of young voters have supported the Illinois senator in most other primary contests.

In addition to answering tough questions about her father, one recent question drew some additional attention. When asked whether she thought her mother would be a better president than her father, she said, “I don’t take anything for granted, but hopefully with Pennsylvania’s help she will be our next president. And yes, I do think she’ll be a better president.”

What ever you say is in vain. How can Elton John call us Americans misogynists for not voting for your mum, Hillary. In fact, tell Elton John that he is the misogynist for marrying a man. Idiot.

Shame on you and Hillary for playing race and sex cards. Hillary can NEVER be a role model to my kids. Pathological LIARS.

Go home and spend mommy and daddy's millions. You are a spoiled brat who is jockeying to get yourself elected to some office in a few years. You are in this for yourself. Selfishness is a hallmark of the Clinton family.

I'm not sure Chelsea Clinton's role is doing any good than harm. Diplomacy is everything in public relations. It seems she doesn't have it at the moment. …… or she's lost it.

Sasha —

Let's not be too quick to brand who is more NASTY and HATEFUL, the banter cuts both ways. Many Clinton supporters are far from Saints themselves.

So let's play fair and call it like it is. Both sides have "bashers".

P.S. I forgot a question I think chelsea would just LOVE to answer…What exactly is the religious group "The Family" that your mother is involved with and why has she not rejected and denounced their views? For all of you HRC supporters who still have Jeremiah Wright issues, I would have more issues with the "cult-like" religious group Hillary is involved with. You will never see Hannity throwing gasoline tipped arrows that way!

The Clinton camp owes U.C. Davis $5000.00 for a campaign rally in JANUARY! There is talk of sending the bill to a collection agency. With Chelsea now having visited 100 campuses, I wonder how much the Clinton campaign owes other colleges and universities.

Pay up Hillary!

BTW, polls show that if California primaries were held today, Obama would win. I am certain he also leads in the under 30 age group. Many California voters have buyers remorse over Hillary!

Peter in Canada   April 10th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

The Clintons use of chelsea is just plain SAD!
She was protected as a "private person" now they have made her into a "public figure". The poor girl has nothing but grief ahead of her as a result!

deep_eye   April 10th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

So What?   April 10th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

What would Bill and Hillary do if a grow man put an object between their 28 year old Chelsea's teeth and get some of it on her blue dress? So why is it ok for Bill Clinton to do that with a 21 year old?

SAD FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For Obama   April 10th, 2008 3:15 pm ET

Sorry but I dont think Chelsea is a credible person to be on the campaign since she cannot be asked the "hard" questions by the regular media. If she is gonna be out there she should be out there. ANd to hear that her mother still sheilds her from the campaign people because of times they want to use her for her mothers campaign.. The girl is 28!! She is an adult.. not a child anymore. It bothers me when people have so much clout to control too much of the world and certain people, certain media etc. That really bothers me alot. Say NO to Hillary and YES to Obama!!

fred   April 10th, 2008 3:14 pm ET

Isn't Chelsea a little old for the college crowd. She need to get married or start a career or something.

Chanda-Cincinnati Ohio   April 10th, 2008 3:04 pm ET

Why is it that when anyone asks this woman a question she does not like, idiots around the country say the person sking the question was an Obama plant. Are you people really that ignorant and juvenile to think that the Obama campaign sits around plotting who they are going to send to Chelsea's events? If she would stop acting like a 12 year old and give an answer to the "tough" questions, then people would stop throwing the "tough' questions at her. Neither of the questions that referenced Monicagate were of a personal nature. In my opinion, young clinton missed golden opportunites to spin the questions to her mother's advantag, and make those who asked them shut up. " None of your business" is not a response I would expect anyone campaigning for a canddiate to give to any question. If she is going to be out there, then she needs to get some thicker skin. I have a whole list of questions I would love to ask her, what did she think of her mother's Bosnia scenario? Did she fel her mother used an exaggerated story of the woman in WV to play up her Healthcare stand? What dod you think of the camaign fraud lawsuit your mother is currently involved in? How many times has yuor mother flipped on the NAFTA issue? Did she think not letting Michigan and Florida delegates not count was a bad idea from the start, or just after she started losing miserably in the delgate count? What happened to the jobs she pledged to bring to NY? etc. ….etc…..etc…..

Charlene Avery   April 10th, 2008 3:03 pm ET

Chelsea is proving to be very negative just like her parents.

I am voting for Obama partly because his message is not negative, he is respectful with the hard questions and he inspires me. Of course, he is intelligent, well-informed on ALL issues and handles himself with dignity with simple folks, and when speaking in Congress against the war (the war that Billary voted for..lets never forget this).

I await the evening on 4/22 to open the champagne for Barack.

If she keeps this up, then pretty soon, she'll have just as much "experience" as Hillary. I like how open the word "experience" has gotten thanks to Hillary. My wife works in the skin care industry doing product development and marketing. Since I've been married to her for a decade, I now have a decade of "experience" in the skin care industry too! Ooooo….and my Dad spent his whole life in construction. Since that gives me a lifetime of "experience" at it as well, maybe I can go get a job running a backhoe!

You can't save your Mama from her lies and dishonesty Chelsea…she's through! Go back and resume your own life while you still have some personal dignity and decency left.

Every one of them that I've talked to tries to sell him by knocking Hillary down instead giving me compelling reasons (e.g. What has he accomplished???) to support him.

karen   April 10th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

I really don't like Chelsea anymore. Or the Clintons for that matter. They are evil. People who support Clinton are living in a world where they support her because she is a woman not because she is a good candidate. There is nothing to like about HRC. SHE LIES. SHE IS BRINGING DOWN THE DEMS ! And she rides her husband's coat-tails through out her whole career. SHe is not a self made woman at all.

Sally   April 10th, 2008 2:39 pm ET

Like her mother, Chelsea also told a whopper about being under sniper fire. Ten days after her mother told her whopper, a voter asked Chelsea about whether it was true and she said it was. "And I was there," she added. It's on YouTube. Why has the press not brought this up ?

Politicians everywhere: DON'T help out struggling homeowners. DON'T bail out investment banks. Some people think doing so is the right thing to do, but do you know what? You are paying for it. You and you and you. If you pay taxes, you are giving a percentage of that to people who bought homes with no money down on ARM loans and investment banks who took those loans, wrapped them in fancy wrapping paper, and sold them off somewhere else. Capitalism means some people get hurt some of the time. There are losers and winners. Let's not make the responsible people out there losers with the rest of you.

heartlight 3, Maui, HI   April 10th, 2008 2:36 pm ET

She must be getting more articulate with practice. When she spoke in my state, she basically said "Vote for my mom, shes the best mom in the world." She did not answer any questions. I was disappointed because I really wanted to hear what she had to say about Hillary's policies and why she thought we should vote for her.

Venus   April 10th, 2008 2:35 pm ET

Give her some slack and give her some respect! I noticed no one has the galls to ask Bill or Hillary about Monica! Not to say that Chelsea should make that subject off-limit. I think it's great that she is helping her mother but, I don't think they really prepared her to really rally up the young voters- people around Chelsea's age and younger and that's too bad. And, although I support Obama - I think it's beautiful too see the Clinton family working together as a family!

Jedi Academy   April 10th, 2008 2:35 pm ET

Have you ever wondered why Hillary's not representing herself to the young people. I'll tell you, because most young people recognize a fake when they see one. Obama represents himself to the young people because he is for young people and their future. The Obama girl isn't campaigning for him. What's Hilliary hiding from you guys, huh? The babyboomers will vote for her out of loyalty, prejudice, or self serving because babyboomers care only about themselves, not the future generations. And I'm a babyboomer, I know.

Nice Clinton press release.

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought I was at hillaryclinton.com for a moment…

nina   April 10th, 2008 12:37 pm ET

Two things. One, I think that college student who originally asked about Sen. Clinton's credibilty regarding Monica Lewinski could have been handled much better. Remember, he is a Clinton supporter and Chelsea could've really pumped up her mother by providing an answer that was something like "look where she's at now". Instead she took her mother's route by way of saying, "it's none of your business" = not answering the question. Secondly, the question of who would be a better president? her mom or dad? Of course she's going to answer her mom, since that's who's running. If asked that same question when her dad was running, what do you think her answer would be?

CL   April 10th, 2008 12:37 pm ET

Does Chelsea even matter? She is just hoping that mommy gets elected so that she can run in 8-12 years. I am sick of Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton presidencies! Look where they all took our country. It's time for a change. OBAMA '08!!!

Cal Dem.   April 10th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

And?

mg   April 10th, 2008 12:25 pm ET

Girl save yourself the stress. Your mother has effectively run down her campaign. She has shown Americans that she is soooooooooooooo unreliable.

Bosnia ,N.Ireland ,NAFTA, Penn, Bowling, Hospital/pregnant woman etc etc etc

I like you but save yourself the stress. The game is over.

Terry, El Paso TX   April 10th, 2008 12:25 pm ET

I hope no one asks her about her parents' sex life. I hope no one asks anyone about his or her parents' sex life. If ever a question was in poor taste any time, any where, and under any circumstances, that is it.

Frank, Missouri   April 10th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

Her "Vote for my Mommy" Tour did not make a dent ..

Doug, Florida   April 10th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

Give it a rest Chelsea. Yo MAMA can't win.

OBAMA 08

Kelly From Oklahoma   April 10th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

Chelsea, good for you supporting your mom. And don't give in to the low lifes that want to bring up your father. He's not running your mom is. Good Work.

Angus McDugan   April 10th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

Given that Bill will be running the show, it is hard to say that Hillary would be better than Bill. Hope they allow her to answer the hard questions regarding ethics.

mg   April 10th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

Girl, save yourself the stress.Your mother has effectively run her chances out.She has shown Americans she is sooooooo unreliable, her come is a go.I like you but save your stress. The game is over.

jimmy velman   April 10th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

CHELSEA IS JUST THE RIGHT PERSON TO REPRESENT THE BEST
OF AMERICAN YOUTH……NOT, REPEAT NOT THE OBAMA GIRL
WHO" HAS A CRUSH " ON OBAMA. AND WHOSE DANCING? HAS MUCH TO BE DESIRED IN A PROPER WAY. GYRATING, GRINDING,AND SHAKING HERSELF TO THE VIEWER IS NOT THE KIND OF DANCING MANY OF US WOULD LIKE TO SEE.
EVEN LESS THAN THAT, SHE OUGHT NOT TO THRUST HER CHEST INTO THE CAMERA VIEW PROVOCATIVELY. IT MAKES FOR
, NO …IT IS…UNSEEMLY.

Sue   April 10th, 2008 12:20 pm ET

She did not address the questions regarding her mother. The only thing she did was reference one of the people who"prosecuted" her father. Be honest Chelsea, or don't be on the road for your Mother.

Anthony-Minneapolis,MN   April 10th, 2008 12:19 pm ET

I am sure she is nice person but I am getting sick of her. Given the scandals of her parents and what her father did that was so public I am offended that she is trying to take an active role in trying to get her mother elected. It looks phony, stupid, insulting to those of us intelligent making over $50k voters that do not support her mother.

WOW! Either she is setting up shop to run for office herself in the next 5 yrs or just plain ignorant to the fact that she cannot campaign for her mother without the question of her father's infidelity coming up.

Her mother set a very bad example for her and all women in America by playing this wounded, weak woman that has allowed her husband to soil her as his wife, as his quote "best friend", as the father of their child and unfortunately we have not heard him come out to say that what he put his wife, daughter through was unforgivable but hope someday they would.

Chelsea, please go away, do some more growing up, maturing and ,maybe in 5 yrs or so depending on what you say then you might have credibility

Mike   April 10th, 2008 12:19 pm ET

she doesn't look anything like her "parents"….'hmmm

NickNas   April 10th, 2008 12:18 pm ET

……….and Hillarys Polls just continue to PLUMMET! Clinton camp is struggleing to figure out who to fire next! Film at 11.

(giggle)

PA   April 10th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

It is amazing that Hillary is constantly saying that there is a media bias toward Obama, yet she gets three times the media coverage - Hillary, Chelesa, and Bill. The news has cut away from an Obama speech to show Chelesa before. I agree that the public is interested in seeing how this poor girl that we all felt so badly for during the Clinton 'bad' times has growm up but really is it news?

proud army and navy mom   April 10th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

let's see ..chelsea's 28. wasn't Monica 28 or younger when she was at the White house with Bill. Didn't mind asking her tough questions.

Jon   April 10th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

I wonder what Nancy Pelosi thinks about this….

April in Texas   April 10th, 2008 12:15 pm ET

Sadly with her selectivness on who can ask questions and what kind of questions can be asked has caused some issues. If she plans to continue to campaign for Hillary then no question should be off limits. What is her basis that Hillary will be a better president than Bill? I don't see it and Hillary has lost her own credibility IMO as while I was once willing to vote IF she won the nomination that has changed. I dont get how with all the issues that have come to the forefront support the thought that she would be better, if anything she would be the same or worse.

Obama 08

Grif   April 10th, 2008 12:15 pm ET

You're working overtime little Lady… I hope they're paying you well..

Pity it will be all wasted, for the battle in November is already Lost…

Borack Obama will go down in History. Fell at the last Fence….

DM, Arlington TX   April 10th, 2008 12:15 pm ET

Hillary Clinton is breaking the federal election law and no one is reporting this? why is that.

They was behind the Canada NAFTA smear campaign against Barack Obama and no one covered it when the truth came out.

Hillary Clinton major flip flop:

When she said to had shock the hands of MLK jr she was a young republician working for Senator Goldwater who was against the Civil Rights Act of 1964. In contrast to what she saying now.

Hillary Clinton voted for the War now says she against

She supported Nafta now says she against it

She hires Maggie William sho help to cause the Housing criss but now she says she against the lobbyist who gave her money to keep quiet.

He against the Columbian Free Trade agreement is but she against it now.

The Clinton is guilty of not being truthful they have a history of just saying anything to get elected

Chelsea should not me made to answer questions relating to her dad sex scandles or her mothers illegal campaign contributions. She is the hire to the presidency.

Marc Seattle Wash   April 10th, 2008 12:15 pm ET

This is a joke. I will not listen to Chelsea campaing for her mother and yet, you can't ask her a very important question. I am done with the Clintons

Obama 08 & 12

Terry Williams   April 10th, 2008 12:15 pm ET

She's great. She talks about her mom better than her mom talks about herself. Her brain is encyclopedic and she's very poised.

Debbie Silverman   April 10th, 2008 12:14 pm ET

I had a chance to meet Chelsea while working at campaign headquarters in Rhode Island. She came there just to thank us for "helping my Mom." She carries herself with so much grace & is charming. The Clinton's did a great job in raising her! Go Chelsea!

Debbie

Kel from AL   April 10th, 2008 12:14 pm ET

What a wonderful kid! Any parent should be proud to have Chelsea as a daughter. This is true love for your parents, folks. She knows mommy probably won't win, but she's still gone out there to 100 college campuses trying to save a sinking ship, and she's going to keep going until the ship finally goes under.

I'm an Obama supporter myself, but you've just got to admire that kind of dogged persistence, even if it is a bit annoying.

Nancy   April 10th, 2008 12:13 pm ET

Of course the young people support Obama over Hillary.
They aren't stupid, they can see through her lies.

fred   April 10th, 2008 12:13 pm ET

Go Chelsea!!

Your Mom is the greatest!!

Go Hillary!!

cala   April 10th, 2008 12:12 pm ET

She is a good role model for every American including her two notorious lier parents.

Madison , PA   April 10th, 2008 12:12 pm ET

Stay home if you don't want to answer to all the questions. We do not want a Clinton dinasty.

Darth Vadik, CA   April 10th, 2008 12:11 pm ET

Answer the questions Chelsea, all of them!!!

Mike   April 10th, 2008 12:11 pm ET

Keep on Chelsea! You are helping your mom and honoring those in 9/11 tragedy.

We remember the 9/11 victims and dont support any candidate that gives money and supports a church that blames America for this tragedy.

Harvey, Tampa, FL   April 10th, 2008 12:10 pm ET

Unless you attend college, her 100th college visit is none of our business.

andrea, Illinois   April 10th, 2008 12:10 pm ET

Chelsea could never convince me to vote for her mom. She is just too lame, boring and unenergetic…..

Jeff M.   April 10th, 2008 12:10 pm ET

I'm left wondering just who it is Chelsea is supposed to connect with.

Corey, Maryland   April 10th, 2008 12:09 pm ET

Does she want a cookie or something….

Obama Richardson 08!!!

Donna Kay   April 10th, 2008 12:07 pm ET

Who Cares? I am not trying to be sarcastic, I just don't see this as newsworthy in anyway and honestly don't care. At this late stage of the campaign it seems like pointless publicity. I would rather see an article about what issues Amy Carter is involved in - just being honest.

kathleen retired Professional w/woman for obama   April 10th, 2008 12:05 pm ET

Go Chelsea! Future President of the good ole USA.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brian   April 10th, 2008 12:05 pm ET

Quick ask her about Lewinsky
