He should fear McCain if he picks Romney as his running mate and Obama wins the Democratic nomination. A majority of the disenfranchised voters in Florida and Michigan, as well as many of the Democrats who support Hillary will end up voting for McCain/Romney, because Obama doesn't have a plan and was willing to sacrifice the voters in Florida and Michigan for his own gain.

Folks I am here to tell you that McCain doesn't have a chance, no matter what the poles say! The poles only survey a mere 500-2000 people, and it is not a good representation of the true pulse of the American people. THE PRIMARIES TELL A MUCH DIFFERENT STORY. The republicans only grossed 12 million voters to the democrats 22 million voters. Obama claimed 11 million voters on his own, well doubling McCain's 5 million voters, and almost overtaking the number of all republican voters. Hillary also took way more than McCain. In fact if the 34 states go the same way in the primaries that they do in the elections, Either Obama or Hillary will oust McCain on a landslide victory of about 300-30 electors, either one of them winning not only the majority of the states, but also all the biggest states. Texas democrat primaries well over doubled in voter turnout than the republican primaries. These are all better indicators and much more representative of America as a whole than a couple of thousand poll takers!!!

The so-called elders of the party, including the "neutrals" like Pelosi have been so abominable in their transparent treachery against the Clintons, a whole bunch of us will revolt and either sit out or vote outright for McCain – the poll numbers in that other article are not lying.

And typical, the Obama supporters in that forum were ranting and blaming Clinton for the poll results. They should look at themseves why 1/3 of Clinton supporters say they would vote McCain – it is not Clinton's fault, it is the disgusting behaviour of Obama campaign, his media pals, and his groupie supporters. When Nov comes, I bet more than 1/3 of CLinton supporters will be breaking the McCain way.

As an independent, I can say that at this rate, the Democrats have no chance at winning in November, with about 80% likelihood. The bitterness that is growing between Obama and Clinton supporters is hardening, and there'll be too much resentment for the Democratic nominee to garner the votes necessary to win. Dean has some comments of merit and some of none, his problem is knowing when not to insert himself into an argument.

In the meantime, McCain will probably win, because A) He's got tons of time on his hands to get organized, get some money, get some ads out there, and get going. B) With the Democrats ripping each other apart (stupidly enough), McCain can just promote himself, look like a guy who doesn't have to play dirty for votes (because he doesn't have to attack anyone), and C) As the Democrats' old wounds resurface, the just look worse, which, obviously enough, makes him look better by comparison.

Howard Dean is the best president we never had, a true statesman, with keen insight, and effective strategies. Too bad the media slammed him hard in 2004 once he voiced his opposition to media deregulation. The "Dean scream" was a manufactured bogus event that America fell for. Make no mistake, it's our loss. At least his plans of a 50-state strategy, did contribute mightily to great Dem successes in the midterms.

I do agree that McCain/Mitt Romny is hard to beat. Why? Because Mitt Romney will help McCain win in UT,CO and MI. MI is where Mitt Romney was born,also Bush had won OH in 2004. The only candidate that can beat McCain/Romney ticket is Hillary. the reason Hillary will win in MI,OH and PA because she has the governer mayor and most of elected official behind her and she had already won some of this states already and that just be enough to beat McCain/Romney ticket. its the state chairs of the MI & FL Dem party that messed it up for their own states. Dean simply told them that the party has rules & there are consequences for not following the rules.

in the end, someway, somehow, MI & FL will get their delegates to Denver & the party will rally around its nominee, the Dems will defeat McCain & we will be rid of the Bushes forever – can't happen soon enough.

After reading these comments, I come away thinking that people really need to think for themselves, and stop being sheep about Howard Dean. It was Florida and Michigan that knowingly and willingly messed up their own primary chances, and now the fathead politicians from those states are pointing the finger at Howard Dean because they fear taking the blame from their constituents for their own bone-headed actions. Hillary Clinton is only stirring the pot because she has something potentially to gain. Just keep in mind, while she's whipped everyone into a frenzy about the people's voices not being heard in those states, her camp at the same time is arguing that super delegates should over-turn the will of the people.

Romney? C'mon Howard, who's kidding who? Romney had the full support of the Republican right wing and the vast majority of Republican money stakeholders and lost to a guy who was reduced to carrying his own bags through the airports just last summer and couldn't raise another dollar. A funny thing happened on the way to convention, though, the voters spoke up. And, no, they're not all crossovers as most of the primaries were closed – not open.

I say DO NOT underestimate McCain. He is formiddable. He can control the center and the center is where the election will actually swing (much to the chagrin of both liberal and conservative true believers). He survived years of North Vietnamese torture and has survived a primary campaign where he was AT BEST the Republican party elite's #3 choice (and perhaps lower) and had everything stacked against him – including the entire Bush/Cheney machine.

Of note in yesterday's ticker – a McCain-Condy Rice ticket would beat ALL possible Dem combinations. Including the Obama-Hillary so-called "dream ticket." And that includes in New York – the bluest of blue states. Chew on that for a while. I say again, DO NOT underestimate Sen McCain. (For the record – I'm an Obama guy).

The problem with Florida and Michigan is... In a race this close, and with so many people emotionally raw from the frustration of the last election.......EVERYONE wants their vote to count!! Imagine if you would, that you are a HUGE Obama supporter, yet due to bad politics, your vote doesn't count. Obama had a chance to vote on a re-vote (at least he was able to vote on it), and he SAID NO! Enough said!
