A McCain/Rice ticket would blow out Obama and Clinton together.

Put a smart educated African-American woman next to Obama or Clinton & they become just your average liberal candidate.

He should fear McCain if he picks Romney as his running mate and Obama wins the Democratic nomination. A majority of the disenfranchised voters in Florida and Michigan, as well as many of the Democrats who support Hillary will end up voting for McCain/Romney, because Obama doesn't have a plan and was willing to sacrifice the voters in Florida and Michigan for his own gain.

Folks I am here to tell you that McCain doesn't have a chance, no matter what the poles say! The poles only survey a mere 500-2000 people, and it is not a good representation of the true pulse of the American people. THE PRIMARIES TELL A MUCH DIFFERENT STORY. The republicans only grossed 12 million voters to the democrats 22 million voters. Obama claimed 11 million voters on his own, well doubling McCain's 5 million voters, and almost overtaking the number of all republican voters. Hillary also took way more than McCain. In fact if the 34 states go the same way in the primaries that they do in the elections, Either Obama or Hillary will oust McCain on a landslide victory of about 300-30 electors, either one of them winning not only the majority of the states, but also all the biggest states. Texas democrat primaries well over doubled in voter turnout than the republican primaries. These are all better indicators and much more representative of America as a whole than a couple of thousand poll takers!!!

Howard Dean is a stain on the reputation of the Democrats and an architect of the divisive Obama candidacy. The people want Hillary and the Dems better nominate her because we will desert the lemming leadership if they try to foist Obama on the people. We will elect Hillary, or we will return the Republicans to the White House. But we will not be ignored by a political elite that seems to believe it knows better than ordinary Americans who their candidate should be. Obama = McGovern. Don't do it , Dean and Pelosi and Kennedy.

all you freak Obama fanatics woulda loved to have seen Hillary last election, you woulda turned out in record numbers to vote for hillary. Your over obsessive nature is what is dividing the country not the fact that we have two canidates that will fix the Bush problems. Yes Obama supporters you will need the millions of clinton supporters believe it or not to win. Calling us all stupid, ignorant and best of all racist for not supporting your canidate is rediculous. At this time I will support which ever Dem is nominated but you guys are makeing it harder and harder everyday.

DNC CHAIR HOWARD DEAN HAD BETTER THINGS TO DO THAN THINK OF MCCAIN AND A RUNNING MATE SUCH AS ROMNEY. THAT IS REALLY WAY OUT OF THE WAY OF HIS MANY DUTIES.ONE OF WHICH PESTERED SO LONG UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE TO FIX IT TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE VOTERS.
THAT NEGLECTED PROBLEM OF COURSE WAS AND IS THE SEATING OF THE MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA DELEGATES IN THE DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION.. NOW THE PROBLEM REMAINS
AND THERE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE A SATISFACTORY SOLUTION....NONE THAT WOULD WOULD SATISFY BOTH CAMPS OF THE TWO CANDIDATES. THE SUPER DELEGATES ARE NOW STUCK WITH THE PROBLEM. AND THEY WILL NOT PLACATE
THE VOTERS OF MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA

Dean should worry about the Dems before shooting his mouth about the Rethuglican politics.

The so-called elders of the party, including the "neutrals" like Pelosi have been so abominable in their transparent treachery against the Clintons, a whole bunch of us will revolt and either sit out or vote outright for McCain - the poll numbers in that other article are not lying.

And typical, the Obama supporters in that forum were ranting and blaming Clinton for the poll results. They should look at themseves why 1/3 of Clinton supporters say they would vote McCain - it is not Clinton's fault, it is the disgusting behaviour of Obama campaign, his media pals, and his groupie supporters. When Nov comes, I bet more than 1/3 of CLinton supporters will be breaking the McCain way.

The only one I fear is Dean -- who is anti-democracy and along with Obama shut down over 2 million voter's voices in America. Obama and his lawyers and supporters shot down a revote so that he can win an election -- not a man of integrity and will never get my vote. He will go down in the General Election -- along with Wright, Rezko, Farrakhan, The Weather Underground and his creepy cult following.

As an independent, I can say that at this rate, the Democrats have no chance at winning in November, with about 80% likelihood. The bitterness that is growing between Obama and Clinton supporters is hardening, and there'll be too much resentment for the Democratic nominee to garner the votes necessary to win. Dean has some comments of merit and some of none, his problem is knowing when not to insert himself into an argument.

In the meantime, McCain will probably win, because A) He's got tons of time on his hands to get organized, get some money, get some ads out there, and get going. B) With the Democrats ripping each other apart (stupidly enough), McCain can just promote himself, look like a guy who doesn't have to play dirty for votes (because he doesn't have to attack anyone), and C) As the Democrats' old wounds resurface, the just look worse, which, obviously enough, makes him look better by comparison.

Howard Dean is the best president we never had, a true statesman, with keen insight, and effective strategies. Too bad the media slammed him hard in 2004 once he voiced his opposition to media deregulation. The "Dean scream" was a manufactured bogus event that America fell for. Make no mistake, it's our loss. At least his plans of a 50-state strategy, did contribute mightily to great Dem successes in the midterms.

What is your answer:

"I feel I should not follow the same rules that other people do"
TRUE FALSE

If you answered "true": You must be a Hillary supporter

If you answered "false": You must be a Obama supporter

Just a quick emotional test in politics!!

Mr. Dean, You should fear Senator Obama more than anyone. He will not beat Senator McCain in the Fall. The Democrats will have their worst showing if Senator Obama is the choice. Senator Obama has the following items dragging him down: Lack of experience, Rev. Wright, Rezko, Nafta/Canada, William Ayer, MalcomeX, Louis F. to name a few. Senator Obama is more untruthful, too. He said he was not in the pew during Rev. Wright's hate sermons against the US, Whites, Jews, and Italians. Do you want to win in November? Release the delegates in Florida and Michigan. Punish the states by making them vote last in 2012. You know I am right.

We should all fear another 4 years of McBush should that happen. Four more years of the occupation and death of Americans and Iraqi civilians, 4 more years of our Constitution being shredded, 4 more years of America losing respect in the eyes of the world and 4 more years of our economy heading south because Republicans don't want to regulate any industry. How did that work our in the mortgage and lending business by the way?

You want more of this garbage?

For the Dems, My 5 star dinner bet is Obama/Hillary
For the Reps, My 4 star dinner bet is McCain/Romney

Reality is that Reps will loose.
Why?
Failed war
Failed Economy
Failed Health System
Failed Education System

All due to money diverted to the failed war and all created / destroyed under republican oversight. (Republican filabustering is not helping either!)

Only conclusion is real change.

Two white men can't deliver a clearer change then a Woman and a Afro dude!

Oh, did I mention who is willing to protect our dying oceans and stop the acid rains slow destruction and alteration of our food crops?

None of them. Therefore, what does it matter??

'Hoser2 April 10th, 2008 5:42 pm ET
What do you mean? Howard Dean as the DNC chair is brilliant. By disallowing Michigan and Florida delegates, he allowed the Democrat voters to crossover and vote in the Republican primaries!!. Why in the hell do you think we Republicans are stuck with McCain?? Brilliant ! Brilliant ! Brilliant !
Now, after Dean managed to get a third rate opponent to run against, all he has to do is now let the Dem's re-vote in Michigan and Florida and all will be well.
We Republicans got exactly what Howard Dean, the Democrat National Party, and the media wanted: a sub prime candidate. Brilliant!'

WHAT???????
Do you honestly think that Dean fixed the process to get McCain in so a Dem could beat him? ........... as a Democrat if feel that McCain had a better chance then any other Republican due to his ability to attract Independents.
You do realize that both MI and FL hold closed primaries, meaning that cross overs to the Republican side by Democrats would be impossible.

I do think that Obama and Howard Dean are laughable, they can't even unite their own party, yet somehow miraculously think they can unite the nation. Obama says he wants to run a different campaign...well let me tell you, he is running his campaign as dirty as all the rest of the politicians who aim to become president. All of you young people who are blaming Hillary-wait until the general election. Obama doesn't have a chance to win this.
Hillary 08 (if the democrats can salvage anything at this point)

I do agree that McCain/Mitt Romny is hard to beat. Why? Because Mitt Romney will help McCain win in UT,CO and MI. MI is where Mitt Romney was born, also Bush had won OH in 2004. The only candidate that can beat McCain/Romney ticket is Hillary. the reason Hillary will win in MI,OH and PA because she has the governer mayor and most of elected official behind her and she had already won some of this states already and that just be enough to beat McCain/Romney ticket. Go Hillary!

enough with the Dean bashing!!!

its the state chairs of the MI & FL Dem party that messed it up for their own states. Dean simply told them that the party has rules & there are consequences for not following the rules.

in the end, someway, somehow, MI & FL will get their delegates to Denver & the party will rally around its nominee, the Dems will defeat McCain & we will be rid of the Bushes forever - can't happen soon enough.

Dear Kelly - think you're incorrect about the unemployment rates under Clinton vs Bush: 5.5% under Clinton; 5.6% under Bush so far. Do things look up to you??

After reading these comments, I come away thinking that people really need to think for themselves, and stop being sheep about Howard Dean. It was Florida and Michigan that knowingly and willingly messed up their own primary chances, and now the fathead politicians from those states are pointing the finger at Howard Dean because they fear taking the blame from their constituents for their own bone-headed actions. Hillary Clinton is only stirring the pot because she has something potentially to gain. Just keep in mind, while she's whipped everyone into a frenzy about the people's voices not being heard in those states, her camp at the same time is arguing that super delegates should over-turn the will of the people.

Romney? C'mon Howard, who's kidding who? Romney had the full support of the Republican right wing and the vast majority of Republican money stakeholders and lost to a guy who was reduced to carrying his own bags through the airports just last summer and couldn't raise another dollar. A funny thing happened on the way to convention, though, the voters spoke up. And, no, they're not all crossovers as most of the primaries were closed - not open.

I say DO NOT underestimate McCain. He is formiddable. He can control the center and the center is where the election will actually swing (much to the chagrin of both liberal and conservative true believers). He survived years of North Vietnamese torture and has survived a primary campaign where he was AT BEST the Republican party elite's #3 choice (and perhaps lower) and had everything stacked against him - including the entire Bush/Cheney machine.

Of note in yesterday's ticker - a McCain-Condy Rice ticket would beat ALL possible Dem combinations. Including the Obama-Hillary so-called "dream ticket." And that includes in New York - the bluest of blue states. Chew on that for a while. I say again, DO NOT underestimate Sen McCain. (For the record - I'm an Obama guy).

The problem with Florida and Michigan is... In a race this close, and with so many people emotionally raw from the frustration of the last election.......EVERYONE wants their vote to count!! Imagine if you would, that you are a HUGE Obama supporter, yet due to bad politics, your vote doesn't count. Obama had a chance to vote on a re-vote (at least he was able to vote on it), and he SAID NO! Enough said!

Wrong though it may be -- I can't imagine Romney on anybody's VP list until all the attention to the FLDS polygamy headlines fade. I certainly don't imagine Romney has 20 wives stuck somewhere in Utah, but 10% of our enlightened voting population think Obama is a Muslim -- go figure!

To GENEVIEVE

I understand that you want to say that ROMNEY is attractive to Conservatives, but not for the Ultra-Conservatives for which anyone
who is not a ultra-right extremist is a liberal !!

So, this would be a good combination, but need to be evaluated in
front of a HUCKABEE alternative, with some less economic, even if
enough, economic knowledge, but with much more personal attraction!!

And of course, another alternative to be tested is with CONDOLEZZA
RICE, which is very FEARED BY THE DEMOCRATS, as the coordinated attacks and insults by their surrogates clearly show !!

She will attract an (even important) minority of the Black Vote, especially of the well to do voters which do not like OBAMA leftist
perception, and certainly a part of the women voters generally, which
have lost their ICON with Hillary's defeat. The first polls in NY, even if
clearly not definitive, seem to show this !
