Obama: I'd take a vow of silence if I could

Obama said Thursday he’d lay off the speeches for a while if he could.
Obama said Thursday he’d lay off the speeches for a while if he could.

LAFAYETTE, Indiana (CNN) – Democrat Barack Obama told an Indiana audience Thursday afternoon that he doesn't like hearing the sound of his own voice as much as some people might think.

After first mentioning that there was a time when presidential rival Hillary Clinton was "really hammering away" at him by saying he was more of a talker than a doer, the Illinois senator said, "She's not doing it as much now. I guess because it wasn't working."

But, said Obama, it's "not just because I like hearing myself talk."

"I promise you, after 15 months (on the trail so far) I would be happy to take a vow of silence and not say a word. I'd be happy just to sit in an office somewhere and solve all kinds of problems without ever having to give a speech."

The first thing out of your evil double-talking mouth that I can concur with.

Unfortunately... like all your other comments, this is just empty talk.

Make us all happy and actually stick a sock in it.

I think it will be sheer poetry to have Obama in the White House on the 150th anniversary of the Civil War and Emancipation Proclamation. I think his message that it is "we the people" who must revive and energize democracy with our full civic engagement and not one politician or another is much more important than the details of his policies–which, like any politician's, are subject to what happens on the floor of Congress as well as the compromises that are part of policy making. I believe Obama is the way of the future; that his populist ideology, his character and integrity and wisdom will make him an outstanding national and global leader. That he will inspire us to take back our government and our country from special interests. And I think those two little girls in the White House alone will cause a paradigm shift in American identity that restores our hope and our faith in ourselves and our country. I have not felt this way about a candidate since Bobby Kennedy when i was 15 in 1968 And if he loses–I think we will have lost a remarkable opportunity that may not arise again at the time when we seem to need it most.

    You should hear Obama talk....

"I don't recall having any conversations with Rezko about the house."

"I don't know exactly how much Rezko donated to the campaigns over the years."

    "I don't remember meeting Auchi."

"I don't recall the non-profit companies I worked on as an attorney that were in partnership with Rezko."

"I don't recall hearing divisive comments from Rev. Wright."

"I don't remember writing any letters supporting Rezko's buildings."

'Are you ready America? Ready to do something different? Ready to veer away from the same old politics in Washington?"

Yes stop the talk. It will even be a good idea if you droped out of the race so our presidential cycle will continue.

George Bush – Bill Clinton – George Bush II – Hillary Clinton – George Bush III – Chelsea Clinton ...

These are the owners of the White house so do not be jealous!

At lease we alternate, unlike the Castros; Fidel – Raul ...

America please support the unbeatable dynasty!!!

It is refreshing to actually root for someone. I am so excited about his candidacy. With Hillary I'm bored to tears, and I also feel she is in an exclusive club that regular people can't join. She only comes down off the mountain when she needs votes.

Go away Hillary, as soon as you lose this election.

  13. Typical White Person

Go away, little boy – you're out of your league

You're just a silly little boy who reads prepared speeches well – oh, and you also have black skin, which you've used to your advantage at every opportunity – you play the race card so well, it's almost as if you're the second coming of OJ – you're black when it suits you (such as when you forgave your racist minister and threw your typical white grandmother under the bus in your – LOL – HISTORICAL (or should I say HYSTERICAL?) famous (or should I say infamous?) – LOL – "race speech" – oh, it won't be forgotten, that's for sure, at least by CNN, who I think is totally in love with you – at least Jack Cafferty is – do Jack a favor – let him know your cell will NEVER vibrate against HIS thigh

Poor Jack, he'll probably cry himself to sleep every night for the rest of his life...."Barack doesn't want me, after everything I've done for him" – he'll be like that car commercial....

LOL – the biggest racist of all time asking all us typical white folks to admit we are racist because we found Reverend Uncle Looney Wright's sermons disgusting

I AM LOVING THE IRONY!!!!!!!!!! WHERE, OH WHERE are Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson when you REALLY need them!!!!!!! I'd LOVE to see them on Oprah discussing how RACIST white America is because they won't vote for an inept, inexperienced, stumbling, bumbling, racist Black man

OH, this is BETTER than Jerry Springer!!!!!

    McInsane wants more war, really?
    McInsane hates war, really?

He knows nothing else folks, he will bleed this Country into the ground.

We are Safer because of the war in Iraq, I don't think so.

When can this war end, um, when there is more violence, I mean when there is less violence, I mean when I can figure out what is the difference between the two parties that want to kill each other, I mean when we have 10,000 troops killed, I mean when 200,000 Iraq people killed, I mean I have no clue.

On the housing crisis let the people figure it out thats what we do with our 100 million dollars safely in my wifes bank account, we struggle with the rest of the people.
Yes I see how you can feel our pain, no offense but I don't think the Clintons can either.

What kind of president that Hillary is going to be because she is already negotiating free trade with nation that previous governments Democrats and Republicans have avoided to have trade with for various reasons. Her and her advisor already negotiatiating with Columbia. What is next for Hillary trade agreements? May be Iran, Cuba, Syria, or Korea.

Barack Hussein Obama....yes please shut the eff up as well as your pastor buddy Mr.Wright. With both your traps shut we'll have peace and quiet again.

Plus...your promises..which at last count is about 10,000..just makes you a non-credible candidate....I mean you're totally out in left field...and speaking of left field...you got as much chance being the next President as the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series this year....ouch.

  21. WE LOVE YOU!

Oh people will go gracy if they don't hear your vioce. The voice of hope is what keep many people going Mr. President.

Many people don't like Mrs. Hillary in fact she lied to everyone as usual, about jobs , she said she will create poverty panel to solve poverty in the country, but she didn't know jobs keep poverty away, she will tell everyone she didn't take money from lobbyiest and special interest which eventually will pay back in kind when or if she became president,

she tell everyone that she will answer their call, but she will send Mr. Penn to take the calls,

she will deny taking money from Peter Paul, but she lied about it, because evidence prove she indeed took money from Peter Paul,

She can't manage the country becuase she could managed her campaign which is less then 100 people compare to the whole nation.

So, Obama you are the true hope people seek, that while they donate money to support you. I don't need to study in university before realizing it.

So, If you think people do not want to listen to you, your are wrong. In facts people are eager to hear your voice and they have tape it playing it over and over every day.

I wokeup every day searching for where you are campaigning. I can't not listen to the news without your topic.
Whenver the media mention your name I stay toned eventhough I am tired from work.
Soo many people feels that way, it has became our daily routine to hear you speak. I will pay for your speeches.

    Thank you Barack Obama

    yours truly

    Prince.

People should be the same when they campaign and when they are in office. Maybe he talks a lot about change or other stuff now but when he gets elected he will do nothing. Same as other politicians.

In additon, he is so arrogant. He thoughts people love hearing his speech. Not me. I can stomach his voice. I change chanel whenever I see his talking. He also fools people who have not experienced life and people who think good things come easy without having to work.

Not feel comfortable with Obama being president.

We love to hear you Obama. You are a genuine, warm human being and you do inspire us. I have no problem being inspired by someone these days...in fact I kind of like it. Guess the polls in Pennsylvania are starting to show that too.

Everything coming out of Hillary's mouth is a scripted lie. Hearing her speeches is like listening to an overacted daily soap opera...in more ways than one.

After Bosnia, the best she could come up with was sleep deprivation, then she just misspoke, then she just forgot where she was, then she said it just proved she was human. NO it just proved she is a pathological liar.

She says she didn't support NAFTA, doesn't believe in the Colombian trade agreement, Penn gets caught brokering a deal, Hillary ACTS DECISIVILEY and Penn resigns, BUT Penn works daily on her campaign. Bill says he supports Colombian trade agreementst; Hillary just dismisses it and says oh that's just Bill's opinion. Then we learn Bill just got paid $800,000 for "JUST WORDS". I'm kind of thinking the only ones who acted DECISIVELY here were the Colombians. They actually fired Penn when they learned he could not guarantee them the deal or the Clinton package.

America we need to pay attention here while we can still say MADE IN THE USA!
