 Obama campaigned in Indiana Thursday.
Obama campaigned in Indiana Thursday.

(CNN) – Barack Obama appeared to have a bit of an awkward moment on the campaign trail in South Bend, Indiana.

From the pool report:

"[Obama] posed for report pictures with the staff when he apparently felt his phone start to vibrate in his pocket on his right thigh – against which one woman was closely pressed.

"Now that’s my phone buzzing there," he said, drawing a laugh. "I don’t want you to think I’m getting fresh or anything."

CNN—HOW IS THIS NEWS?

By the way, why is it the London Times does more vetting of Obama than you do? You might want to look at their Feb. 26th article on Rezko, Obama and Auchi…and the ties to the House Obama bought.

Also, kind of silly of you to have commentators saying that Obama is acting Presidential when he does not comment on the calling to "boycott" the opening ceremonies….ESPECIALLY when he told the Chicago Sun Times yesterday that a boycott of the opening ceremonies should be something the President should consider, but he "prefers to make policy announcements on HIS timetable and not hers" (Referring to Senator Clinton)

The least you could do, is get your stories straight.

NickNas   April 10th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

OK CNN while this is cute and all and I am an Obama supporter I would rather be reading more about the "further investigations" into the multiple Lies of the Clintons. I know that may be a TALL order so just focus on the ones in the last 2 weeks. That will keep a staff of 20 busy for a while. I may be an old timer at 46 but I remember when reporters followed up on stories and got to the bottom of things not just jumped from story to story without getting to and exposing the truth.

Andrew from PA   April 10th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

Yeah right ! You can pose for the Media but not some white guy who only wanted a photo for his wife. What a disgrace. Go on and go see your Grandma, see if you can scare her because you're a black man . America needs to throw this brother in front of the Bus not under.

Robert   April 10th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

OK. This is definitely a sign of primary withdrawal. We need it to be the 22nd already so we can have some real news.

Kristen   April 10th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

That is hillarious. Just one more reason to vote for him.

La504   April 10th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

It wouldn't surprise me a bit that he was "getting fresh". Every day there is some unpleasant, disappointing, and disturbing discovery about this man! If the "captive" for-O-media had chosen to be objective in their coverage, this individual would have been done for a long time ago, and just a vague memory of some momentary yuppie trend.

mep   April 10th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

All this - and a sense of humor too…Come on America, how much do we need this man in the White House? Soooooooooooo Much!!!

Nice Presidential remark!!! He needs to go back to Chicago!

Mike   April 10th, 2008 12:47 pm ET

It was Baskin Robbins calling him back to work, or perhaps Senator Clinton asking him to help her move her things back into the White House.

This is news?

It must be a slow news day, the Ticker seems to be putting up more of these non-stories these days.

caywen   April 10th, 2008 12:48 pm ET

Next, Bill Clinton will say, "Ah feel that this conduct is highly inappropriate and not becoming a commander in chief."

Then, the resulting hypocrasy will collapse on itself causing a black hole to swallow the earth and we all perish.

sumit   April 10th, 2008 12:49 pm ET

Whta is the point u are trying to make here ?

i think CCN has better things to cover rather than statement where Barack is saying about his some usual daily phone call for something.

Don't erode your good name on the coverage ..

Sean   April 10th, 2008 12:49 pm ET

Come on La504. Give us one example instead of making general statements. Every day something does come out about Clinton, however. Sniper fire, Columbia, NAFTA, CanadaGate, the Hospital story, $109 million yet still a "friend of the poor man". Obama hasn't thrown mud about any of it. But if she does manage to steal the nomination, don't think the Republicans will be so nice.

Chris from NC   April 10th, 2008 12:51 pm ET

It's unsettling to see so many people write negative comments about this guy, or use false information to slam him. He's an incredible human being, and you all should wise up.

I don't dislike McCain, either; I think he's been a great leader and has some solid ideals. But he's so interlinked with older politics, and therefore so many extremely conservative politicians will vie for influence.

Obama is great man. Stop being willfully ignorant.

Joe Green   April 10th, 2008 12:51 pm ET

Obama tells the truth.

This statement:

"Every day there is some unpleasant, disappointing, and disturbing discovery about this man!"

is a LIE, however.

You may have "misspoke" and were thinking of HILLARY and her prgnant woman stories (LIE) under fire in Bosnia (LIE) firing Mark Penn (LIE) and 110 million dollars in bribes.

The WORST they can say about Obama is that his minister once said some bad things. That's it? Then they must not "have" anything on him, then…..

Hillary, on the other hand…..

Carlo   April 10th, 2008 12:52 pm ET

"Getting fresh" is definitely the old way. My grandparents raised me, and they used to say that all the time, so I definitely understand where he got the terminology from. As stressful as this campaign is, its nice to see that he can still be self-deprecating and humorous.

Terry Williams   April 10th, 2008 12:53 pm ET

So this gets news but another superdelegate endorsement from PA, former and popular mayor of Pittsburgh, Maslof endorsement of Hillary is not news? Why do endorsements of Obama get front page headline news on the politics section but not news like John Murtha, the strongest opponent for the war in Iraq endorsing Hillary?

FIRST HE TELLS A CUSTOMER IN A RESTURANT REFERING TO THE POOR MAN'S MEAL THAT "HE WOULD BE A CHEAP DATE"

THEN HE REFERS TO A VIBRATING PHONE AS A SEXUAL INUENDO , I THINK OBAMA NEEDS TO PAY A VISIT TO MICHELLE AND THEY CAN PLAY HIS FAVORITE RAP SONG BY JAY Z

This man has tolerated more than most of us can imagine. He has been no darling of the press. His race has been made an issue by the purportedly non-racist Clintons. They HAVEN'T been able to make any scandals stick because this is a man of true character. Shame on La504 for such an ignorant and racist viewpoint.

Madison , PA   April 10th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

Hillary stop calling for negative tricks…!!!

Nancy riley   April 10th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

ha ha , I like a president with a sense of humour

Wise Dem.   April 10th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

Presidential candidates are ordinary people too.

Very refreshing

Texican   April 10th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

He's not even in office and already the ladies are lining up. Shades of Bill Clinton. At least with McCain we don't have to worry about hanky panky in the Whitehouse.

Now that Republicans voted to get Barak on the Ticket and that Witch of Hillary is almost done, We can go on to win in November.

And all the time you thought that we wanted Hillary? Nope, Obama will do just fine. McCain and THE AMERICAN Patriots will make sure that he is not our next President.

Democats's blew another one that they had in the bag.

Darren M.   April 10th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

LOL, he pulled a Clinton on that chick….

mark   April 10th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

How is that an "awkward moment"? It was Funny.

Anonymous   April 10th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

fesh with hiary

kathleen retired Professional w/woman for obama   April 10th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

Now, let us talk about "a topic". I read a condensed biography
on Obama last evening on the Internet and it was really interesting.
Obama helped the poor and disadvantaged most of his career.
He is a good man and he is very smart. He could have used his
"earned" degree to be a lawyer but he chose to be in the business
to stand up for the little guy. A GOOD READ FOR ANY ONE who
may have doubts about Obamaman. He don't lie. He don't trash
people. And he cares about the American people. And, Hannity
and Rove, he is very patriotic. Read it Hannity, the Obama basher
Read it Rove, the dispicable man who is very comfortable bashing
anyone that is not a Republican, although he seem to like Hillary
a whole bunch.

Realistic   April 10th, 2008 12:55 pm ET

Maybe the call was from Wal-Mart asking him to be on the board of directors and bust the unions; oh, wait ……

julie35   April 10th, 2008 12:55 pm ET

We need this man in the white house like we need a toothache! Has anyone read his book? Dreams,, this is one messed up guy. kinda sad.

Frank, Missouri   April 10th, 2008 12:55 pm ET

:) Funny !

Sarah   April 10th, 2008 12:55 pm ET

This "story" is only enlightening in that it provides a forum for people like poster Brad to spew a kind hatred and ignorance uglier than I ever get to witness in my everyday life. Thanks, Brad, for reminding me that there are people like you in this world. We still have so far to go.

Gaz Of Oz   April 10th, 2008 12:55 pm ET

Why are you allowing hateful postings such as "Brad" ( "Yeah right ! You can pose for the Media but not some white guy who only wanted a photo for his wife. What a disgrace. Go on and go see your Grandma, see if you can scare her because you're a black man . America needs to throw this brother in front of the Bus not under.")
on CNN blogs?

Don in CA.   April 10th, 2008 12:56 pm ET

Come on people, it wasn’t that funny. You want funny, then let’s elect Jay Leno.

Anne E.   April 10th, 2008 12:56 pm ET

He's definitely "fresh" — a sorely needed breath of fresh air!
Obama nay-sayers need to get over themselves and their issues.

Godspeed, Sen. Obama — all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.!

D   April 10th, 2008 12:56 pm ET

Brad and LA504:
Are you kidding me? What is wrong with you? This is a bit of fun, positive news and you guys act like it's the end of the world.

There is one way for you two to get instant gratification. If you are so tired of all the positive news, STOP WATCHING IT!.

I'm sure Hillary will have something negative for you soon, don't worry

Dobalina   April 10th, 2008 12:56 pm ET

Hey brad, that white guy was a stalker. Did you see him? "oh oh, pleeeeeeeeeeeze take a picture with me! pleeeeeeeeeze!"

He wanted Obama to get fresh with him. Much as I do. I'm totally gay for Obama. He's clearly the best choice.

But even if he's not in your opinion. Isn't it just fun to have a guy like Obama around. This is so much fun. The system doesn't work and it never will. So let's just elect this guy and have some fun for a change. He's like a party favor. "Hey look world! We're not complete morons after all! Here's our gift to you for acting like such dillweeds for the past eight years and allowing an idiot to make a mockery of our country!" Gobama. It's fun, all the little idioms you can make out of his name. That's enough reason for me to vote for him. Take a hike.

Mary   April 10th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

This shows the tight rope these people need to walk, thanks, mostly to Hillary's husband and the times we live in.

It is also good to see a bit of humor injected into what seems like a never-ending primary season…

Vivienne   April 10th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

What's the story. Do we have to report everything that happens. It's so pitiful.

Gabe Polson, The Woodlands,TX   April 10th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

So if Senator Clinton was getting as much airtime on CNN as Obama the lead would not be close at all. When will CNN give her 40 minutes to talk about anything. I watched in horror that speech that obama gave on race and was mortified that he thinks we are all stupid. I was also mortified when i watched a pundit on the Situation Room Say Clintons voters were just unwilling to vote for a black man. How about this…maybe we are just unwilling to vote for an unqualified candidate. How dare Blitzer not call this guy out on his comments. He just stood there, as usual, like a deer caught in headlights.

Hillary 2008

Enrique   April 10th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

dEMABRAT   April 10th, 2008 1:42 pm ET

Phil G. , New York   April 10th, 2008 1:42 pm ET

Great Job Obama lol Nice damage control

Now only if we could've gotten Bill Clinton to just keep it like that maybe he could've avoided empeachment lol

Nakae   April 10th, 2008 1:42 pm ET

HA! That's hilarious!

SHARON   April 10th, 2008 1:42 pm ET

So now WHAT??????? Is this going to be blasted all over the news , radio & papers? With all the problems that is going on now. You have nothing bettter than to report. SHAME ON YOU and the rest of the media.

Jen   April 10th, 2008 1:43 pm ET

MAYBE HE IS INTERESTED IN THE WOMAN

MICHELLE OBAMA IS NOT GOOD ANYMORE

John   April 10th, 2008 1:43 pm ET

Obama was thinking: I am keeping the getting fresh for the White House interns.

Sarah   April 10th, 2008 2:01 pm ET
