Hillary and Bill Clinton.
Hillary and Bill Clinton.

(CNN) — Hillary Clinton wants her husband to quit talking about her trip to Bosnia in 1996, the former president said Friday.

"Hillary called me and said, "I misstated it, you said I misstated it, but you got to let me handle it because you don't remember it either'…I said 'Yes ma'am," Clinton said while touring the fire damage of a campaign office in Terre Haute, Indiana.

The comments follow those he made in Boonville, Indiana Thursday, when he strongly defended his wife over the recent coverage surrounding her 1996 Bosnia trip claims, saying the media acted as if she'd "robbed a bank."

"I got tickled the other day, a lot of the way this whole campaign has been covered has amused me, but there was a lot of fulminating because Hillary, one time late at night when she was exhausted, misstated and immediately apologized for it, what happened to her in Bosnia in 1995. Did y'all see all that? Oh, they blew it up," he said.

Bill is smart. Bill was a good president. Bill knows what it takes to be a good president. Either consiously or subconciously, Bill knows Obama is the right choice for right now. Experience is good, but what this country needs right now is inspiration. Smart people realize this, look at the polls…

Hillary didn’t handle anything. She just tried to laugh-it-off and make a joke out of it, like it’s no big deal. Both of them are big liars and now we have them disagreeing on several issues . . .
I don't know about you people, but I'm like McDonalds . . . I'm lov'in it!

I LOVE IT!!!!!

HRC supporters "it's over an done with. she owned up to it now lets move on…"

and then in the same breath "Barack said he was a professor when he wasn't (wow! HUGE lie there huh? even though UofC said he was a prof)" "he didn't hear his pastor say those racist remarks (uhh..he said he wasn't there for the remarks that have been playing on YouTube not EVER)"

please just accept that fact that your candidate is losing and WILL LOSE so we can all move one

Sigh.

Kevin   April 11th, 2008 3:47 pm ET

Watch, Hillary supporters will try to spin this as "look what a strong woman she is standing up to her man and telling him to shut up." Problem is, she failed when she could have shown the greatest strength by LEAVING him.

But no, so now they have a relationship of political advantage, and nothing more.

Marc   April 11th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

This is not funny. This could be our future. Don't her supporters see this? Please Pennsylvania, do the right thing. Just say no to Hillary.

david from texas   April 11th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

Our democratic party is in trouble this year. Both Obama and Clinton are liars. Obama is racist, Clinton is sexist, Bill is out in left field, Michelle "hates" America, and so on and so on. Man, I wish they could come together and start being positive and dwell on the issues at hand for once! Neither of them is better than the other. I'm almost ashamed to be a Democrat these days! The Republicans are loving this…..they know that in November, if this keeps up, it will be an easy win for them. Ok , Obama, Clinton….stop acting like school kids and start acting like candidates! Time is running out!

debbie   April 11th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

I cannot believe any of the bloggers really believe everything they hear on CNN or FOX these people are shaping the electins and your sorry butts are letting them…think for yourself,Hillary is our best bet for november dem's if it's Obama we lose .Michigan alone can screw up rhis election because of the blunder there!!!!!!!!! Hillary claim menopause symptoms women can relate we forget things but still seem to run our households better that any man I know.

Bill Clinton in not a liability. If Obama wins the nomination it's because he ran a good campaign, but let's give credit where credit is due. Hillary has run an excellent campaign too. I can't believe how many anti-Hillary comments there are on here. Hillary Clinton and Bill have devoted their lives to this nation and whether you like them or not, a little respect should be in order.

Ed Staskiewicz   April 11th, 2008 3:45 pm ET

I read the blogs and usually don't make any comments… but this one really got me!!
It's real simple folks: HRC doesn't have a chance because of the deceptive ways of her and Bill.

To think that this man will EVER reside at the White House again is incomprehensible by any means!!

1) He WAS a law professor, Civil Rights Law, read something. anything…

2) He could attend the church but not hear the remarks… who said he went EVERY Sunday, and besides that doesn't mean he agreed… what church do you attend?

3) HE didn't meet with Canadian officials, his campaign adviser did. And he was fired for it, however Mark Penn is STILL a Billary adviser AND Bill is making money of of the CFTA deal… please. let's be real.

Derrick, Atlanta GA   April 11th, 2008 3:45 pm ET

Thats funny…She tells Bill he doesn't remember…It is obvious she didnt remeber it either, because if she did she shouldn't have lied in the first place. The HRC campagin is silly.

Yotin   April 11th, 2008 3:45 pm ET

When Hillary read from a prepared text mis-speaking on the Bosnia thing, she could have just blamed her campaign staff like what Obama has habitually done.

I admire leaders who take responsibility for their actions, even if those actions were prompted by others. We need this kind of change. Bush has refused to take any responsibility for his misguided actions and I'm afraid Obama would be more of the same and NOT change.

shawnbob   April 11th, 2008 3:45 pm ET

funny thing is just this, when bill clinton was the President this Country was in a lot better shape! and everyone was joking that hillary must be running the country! now she is actually running and all you are complaining! get over the monica story, and please lets not even bring up all the lies…..Obama has been caught in numerous lies himself!

I think Hillary was wise to tell him to shut up. His defense of her wasn't going to help her any. All it did was rekindle the fire. I'm an Obama supporter, but I sometimes feel bad for Bill. I think he is desperately trying to help his wife win, but in his fervor to do so, he frequently makes things worse.

fcrooster   April 11th, 2008 3:43 pm ET

The Clintons haven’t changed!

Mark Penn reinforces the double standard the Clintons have always practiced, or how the rules of the game have always applied to everybody else but them. They don't know how to play fair. They're as bad as the Republicans they've whined about. I laughed out loud when Senator Clinton, speaking about President Bush's latest stance on Iraq this week, said something like: "I will face reality and bring our troops home." I'm a staunch Democrat and a Boomer for Obama…why? One reason is I can never believe anything the Clintons say. They'll say anything! They live only in their reality, which is pretty fantastic.

Forget Mark Penn! Senator Clinton hasn't let him go anyway. And there stands President Clinton out on the trail lying about his wife to his audiences. He blames the media for revving up her Bosnia lies, and then he tells a bunch more lies in the process. Mon Dieu! The American people need to fire the Clintons, as they're no better than what they seek to change.

The silver tongued articulate orator supreme can't even win a smile these days ! Poor Bill. It truly must be exasperating to drop so quickly from the most popular , well paid, speaker in the World to the most criticized non-paid, Speaker in America! I'm wondering if that old adage really carries water. You know the one that says, "what goes around comes around." It sure looks like it's coming full around for Bill ! If he and Hillary don't stop trying to mend their mis-speaks they're going to mending way into 2010 for as quick as they mend one or the other unravels! I hope they don't take up knitting! HA

Caryn, DC   April 11th, 2008 3:43 pm ET

I am familiar with it and it is something the Obama camp will never ever allow to get out. This would destroy him beyond repair.

Now back to the Clintons. Hillary's albatross around her neck is Bill. Unfortunately everyone is not looking at her as a the candidate who will bring this country back from destruction; but are blaming her for Bill.

There are a lot of things Michelle Obama has done and said that is just as wrong as BC, but as usual, CNN ignores it and it's allowed.

Obama is losing his star quality and is now looking for things to attack HRC on for they know her direction and policies they can't attack as they are right on target.

Are some of Hill-liar-ee Clintons supporters dumb or what?

They keep talking about Canadian talks and what went on with NAFTA.
I'm from Canada and there was no talks of NAFTA and was proven by the Prime Minister.

This lady is directly or whatever indirectly connected to NAFTA and now CAFTA.

After the lies and deceiving ploys by Hill-liar-ee some people say that they would only vote for Hillary or that dictator McCain, go figure.

I Thought about this last night and the only thing I can come up with is that, a supporter of Hillary, that says something like this is Prejudice or rasist.
I am not talking about the voters For Hillary that would vote democrat no matter what, it's the ones that say they would vote for McCain the exact 360 of Hillary or Obama.
You want more war because of your prejudice views, a man that only believes in war and claims to hate war, LMAO get real.
He knows nothing else but to start Wars and folks this guy is insane he would start a war with China. Then the world as we know it will be vanished. He is a tirate and a dictator and does not belong in office.

Even Hillary is a safer bet, you will only lose 100,000 jobes in the process and I am being nice about this number, you will be forced to pay for health care that you cannot afford and will be penalized for it, so get your bankruptcy papers ready, but at least America will still be around.
Obama is and will be the best President for the tough times at hand period.
I can't believe he would want this job with all the prejudice people that are still alive and well in the great U.S of A.

I am Irish Canadian and proud of it. I don't have a pin of the flag on my jacket, I show my patriotism by helping on the homeless shelter on the weekends and the week nights I help under privlenged kids at the local community center, amongs other things.

Obama 08 or even Hillary over McCain the lessor of two evils.

I would rather have a candidate whose shortcomings are self-aggrandizement and puffery over one whose policies will further diminish our world position and our economy as will John McCain's.

I will agree that nobody who fabricates being shot at gas done so by accident. Hillary's original claim about her experience in Bosnia was a lie. Let's call it that and agree it is indefensible.

Some of Barack Obama's issues, including his failure to repudiate hatemongering in his chirch, also reflect an error in judgment.

But errors in personal judgment or in image positioning pale in comparison with John McCain's irascibility, bellicosity and economic ignorance. I will vote for whichever Democrat wins the nomination long before I will vote for Sen. McCain.

Martha, Georgia   April 11th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

Once again, HRC and company making a mockery of the DNC and party. This is absolute nonesense. Now she is fighting with her husband, why will she not denounce his lies and fire him. HRC did not call Bill Clinton, all he is doing is watching the media and pundits, both of whom he criticizes so profusely when things don't go his way.

Pat   April 11th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

She tells him that he don't remember it as he wasn't there.
Well obviously she doesn't remember it either !! This is nothing short of a lie. How could anyone get confused about whether they were under fire or not ?! That is something you would remember forever.
When you continually lie, then you have trouble remembering the truth. That has been a problem with both Clintons for many years. They can't be trusted at all.

If Hillary is the best candidate, we're in deep do-do. Was she also exhausted when she mis-spoke about the Rose law office records? I can hear it all the next day after she authorizes a nuke attack. "Did I say that???? I must have mis-spoke". And Bill would follow that up by saying, "You would have thought, you know, that she'd robbed a bank the way they carried on about this," he added. "And some of them when they're 60 they'll forget something when they're tired at 11 at night, too."

I've noticed a clear difference between many of the Hillary backers and the Obama backers. Most of the Hillary supporters here are TYPING IN CAPS almost as if they are having to shout to get their voices hear because they get fainter by the day. The Obama backers are not as annoying and realize that their voice together can be louder than that of the hillary supporters and thus they do not need to TYPE IN CAPS to make a point. very interesting indeed.

Hello out there   April 11th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

Must be a slow day CNN. In spite of all her flaws (and Bills) she is still the best candidate to be President. She is commited to her Country and her follow Americans.

Hillary's flaws pale in comprison to Obama's and his choice of mentors and friends. Michelle Obama is no better when it comes to her true feelings about our Country.

I would think all of us want a candidate that loves America, has experience, and would put America first.

HILLARY IS THAT PERSON.

Some of you cannot even spell the word liar. And, why is this important?

Mr. Obama has made his own share of mistakes when speaking about issues that are relevant – like his insistance in PA ads that he won't take money from big oil companies – they are excluded from contributing by law. So why are you saying you won't take money that would be illegal to give and to take?

I honestly do not know who is the candidate anymore. It appears to me that bill is the front runner.
and she "Hillary" misses her time as a first lady….she is not able to defend herself against the public opinion.

Elisabeth   April 11th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

This is a ridiculous media story. Any thinking American should understand that her statement was self irony only. More serious is that Obama’s subcommittee has been inactive while Obama has campaigned for president! He chairs the subcommittee. Being a chairman he has held not one substantive meating, has he…..? That is something to talk and write about.

Kentucky   April 11th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Simply-she lied about it!
Why is it so hard to see that the Clintons have ALWAYS lied?

Debby   April 11th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

This is so lame CNN you have the same ticker below. I can see now why the Clintons are boycotting your news network and going over to Fox.

CES   April 11th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Oh Bill and Hillary – you are so humorus – Need a change in '08

JC   April 11th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

Between Clinton and her lies, Obama and his lack of experience and far-left policies (wants to cut the military budget while repealing the "don't ask, don't tell" policy which is as simple as keeping your business to yourself.) I am worried if either of them gets in the white house. Hopefully McCain can pull off a win but he should have been president 8 years ago anyway.

ILoveAmerica   April 11th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Earth to Hillary: You no longer have any chance of winning the nomination. So who cares what Bill says anymore anyway?

Candi SC   April 11th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Bill is trying to help Hillary every way he can so they can get the free trade deal to work. Work with me Hillary and everything will be okay. People will feel sorry for you on the Bosina trip just trust me honey. They will vote for you, just keep saying and doing what you do best tell lies.

D C   April 11th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Hillary did not misspeak. Everything that woman says is planned and calculated. She just flat out lied and got caught!

Uncle Sam   April 11th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

I challenge the American people – Democrats, Republicans, and Independents – to support the candidacy of Sen. John McCain and transcend partisan conformity. It is because I value the importance of divergent points of view that I challenge you to think outside of your political box and your own special interests. Due to the excitement generated by the Obama candidacy, his theme of change and unity, and attempts to portray a McCain presidency as a third Bush term, I believe that Sen. McCain's historic candidacy has been overlooked. John McCain is that rare politician who, because of his willingness and ability to cross party lines, is the true agent of change. In his humble way, he has not asked the American people to merely hope for change or simply believe that he will do as he promises. His actions over a lifetime of selfless service to America speak for themselves. History has shown us that the ability to bring about real change is not a matter of rhetoric or manner but of character and courage.

bruce   April 11th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

I am totally amazed at people who continue to make excuses for Sen. Clinton failures. She has exposed herself over and over again, and her supporters are in complete denial about her inexcusable behavior and totally irresponsible statements. Her supporters are willing to shoot themselves in the foot, just to despite someone from their own political party. Don’t they really want four more years of Bush policies? Do they really want to soldiers in Iraq for 10, 20 or more years, because that’s what they are going to get by voting for Sen. McCain. Their blind bias and lack of honestly looking at Sen. Clinton mistakes and misdeeds is a dangerous mindset…

Are people still that ignorant in this country? Is racism and sexism that deep? Is our hatred so blind we can see that truth?

Sen. Clinton is a flawed candidate not because she is a woman… She is a flawed candidate because of her poor character, poor decisions, poor leadership… The attitude she publicly displays completely turns off voters and more importantly… super delegates… Sen. Clinton is shooting herself in the foot, just like her supporters…

I have criticisms about Sen. Obama, however, I'm honest about his character, and his potential leadership. He hasn't done everything right, however, I don't see a complete blind bias, in people that support him.

I look at both of these candidates and can clearly see differences in their character, their behavior, public statements, how the re-act to their mistakes and more importantly, how they have run their campaigns…

I’m voting for Sen. Obama because he has demonstrated he is a person to lead our country. I’m voting for Sen. Obama because I believe he can bring about change our country needs. I’m voting for Sen. Obama because of human qualities I admire in people. I see him as a good person… not a perfect person… His character and attitude far exceeds the character and attitude is see in Sen. Clinton…

That’s not blind bias… That’s the real Truth…

This seems like a big public ploy to me so Hillary can say that she can control Bill, when she can't. Why else would Bill be bringing up this conversation. We all know Hillary doesn't speak about personal phone calls (ones with Bill Richardson, at least).

Andrew   April 11th, 2008 3:09 pm ET

"I remember landing under sniper fire," "There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base," Hillary Clinton

I am from Long Beach, California. Where I come from, we call that "lying", when you start a statement with "I remember" and it is completely unfactual.

Is mis-speaking another name for lying? It does sound nicer.

White Woman   April 11th, 2008 3:09 pm ET

Robert Miller, Tulsa Oklahoma   April 11th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Do we really want another 4 years of this? The Clintons lied enough to the american people when they were in the White House last time. Remember Bill Clinton lied under oath. A crime punishable to the rest of American people. It's called perjury! The American People deserve better!

John   April 11th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Larry Sinclair   April 11th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Reality Check   April 11th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

The only relevant thing about this issue is that Sen. Clinton had a successful mission on behalf of our country when she went to Bosnia during a time of war. When did Obama ever go to Bosnia or another war zone on behalf of our nation? Oh, that's right – he never did. He has ZERO foreign policy experience.

sky   April 11th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

I can understand her wanting Bill to keep quiet.

But I really don't truthfully understand the "mis-spoken business. I am getting older and I forget things too….I forget whether I did something on Wednesday or was it Thursday. I might forget where I put something, or things along these lines but I have to admit that I can't quite envision myself thinking I was fired upon when in fact I was read poetry. And its not even like she was mixing it up with another incident. The fact is…she has NEVER been shot upon.

SHANE IN CHICAGO   April 11th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

It's too bad the CBS show "hidden talents" was cancelled so fast. Hillary had a great chance of winning . . . . .she can cry on command, answer phones at 3am (although she may be prone to exaggeration at that time due to tiredness), and boss her husband around at will.

Mary   April 11th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

And lots not forget he said she was the first First Lady to attend a war zone , which is also wrong it was Pat NIxon, think it was 1969 or about there.
If Obama just sticks to his play book and keeps his head about him while others are losing theirs he will take the nomination.
She will try and bate him on Sunday night in the CNN discussions, and she will bring up Wright, he needs to stay on focus and if she goes that route he needs to hit the airwaves on Monday morning with the 800,000 payoff from the Columbians let the people of PA really see what they could be voting for , a history of supporting foreign trade polices that will continue and jobs will continue to leave the US

J   April 11th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Could Hillary also tell Bill to give up the $800,000 he earned from lobbying for the Columbian government, and which is now in their joint bank accounts? This would go a long way toward ending the conflict of interest issue.

Mark Vale   April 11th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Authenticity, honesty, truth, these qualities seem to be conspicuously absent from the Clintons. They seem to be exagerating big time lately.
Anything to get elected seems to be their prevailing approach.

OlvrWhit   April 11th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Hillary did mis-speak and the media did blow it out of porportion. fact is there was danger on that trip and the media all but ignored those facts…There was warning of sniper fire, the ceremony was cut short due to security threats…

Bill Clinton is 100% correct. The media distorts everything that Hillary does or says. So do you bloggers( unless its Obama and then your all upset that anyone dare say his name).

Hillary continues to be the best choice and when Americans wake up from there election dream they will see she is by far the most qualified to lead this nation.

Jeremy Abbas   April 11th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Apparently neither of them remember it.

From Bill's, "I smoked but didn't inhale" to "I never had sex with that woman" to Hilary's Die Hard version of her Bosnia picnic—neither of these prevaricators have a shred of credibility.

Hilary's 3 am commerical raises an excellent point. I am concerned over who will answer that phone call at 3 am. If Hilary's elected I'm afraid that call just might be answered in the Executive Bedroom by Monica or some new intern.

This is getting to be like a soap opera. End it already PA!

For those of you who believe that Obama has nothing going for him, all I can say is just watch. He is allowing Hillary to hang herself – and she is doing a pretty good job. When he faces off with McCain the gloves will come off. He'll have the poor old guy blubbering in a pool of drool in a debate. The teleprompter won't be able to move slow enough for McCain to keep up…

honkey white guy from cali   April 11th, 2008 3:07 pm ET

HA HA HA Well I guess she told him It is about time she put a muzzle on him the way things are going they both will end up broke and doing time for fraud. I would be willing to bet he will not be making as much as before. This has been a financial disaster for both of them!. At least she is starting to do the right thing. although I honestly believe that this whole thing is a puppet show for the American people so they will see her taking charge in the family even though her husband is dealing under the table to sale off jobs from the people she needs votes from. mark my words that marriage is over! right after her concession speech. I bet all those Clinton supporters whom that he was right to bite back like he did fell stupid now that there candidate told him to stay out of it hum. she can not run a marriage, a campaign, or the white house how can people still be voting for her HOW!

Ray Ito   April 11th, 2008 3:07 pm ET

A house that is divided against itself cannot stand.

Bill and Hillary have pretty much been divided on a host of issues such as NAFTA, Bosnia, race, (she had to apologize for his statements), etc.

If these two people are already fighting each other publicly on the campaign trail, how will it be like if ever they make it to the White House again?

He said: "And some of them when they're 60 they'll forget something when they're tired at 11 at night, too."

If at 60 you'll be tired at 11 at night, how can you be effective in answering the 3:00 a.m. phone?

What contradictions are the Clintons spewing? How can they bring so much confusion into the American politics and still claim to be relevant?

The Clintons time is past gone – they belong to a by-gone era.

Their presence is weakening the Democratic party base and the longer they stay on, the more they empower the Republicans.

Hillary needs to apologize to the American People for her lies.

Hillary really needs to step down from the race because she is making America look like fools to the rest of the world.

No one believes or trusts her anymore.

Anyone but Hillary '08

Mike Cobb, Palo Alto, CA   April 11th, 2008 3:07 pm ET

We've heard multiple reasons why Hillary got this one wrong … which is probably the clearest proof that it was a knowing fabrication. This is one of the reasons why I now understand my previous general feeling of discomfort with her. One other example: her sudden discovery of the Democratic voters in Florida and Michigan … as I recall, she agreed to the rules put forth by the DNC at the time. Now, because they didn't work out to her benefit, she wants to change the rules late in the game. There are words for both of these examples.

Chris   April 11th, 2008 3:07 pm ET

Hey if she's forgetting stuff at 11pm, what good is she going to be when that phone rings at 3?

billybob   April 11th, 2008 3:05 pm ET

yes, and she 'misspoke' in her book and the numerous other previous times she repeated the same lie. Love those Clintons, they sure now how to lie and then circle the wagons to minimize it. As has been said before, the Clintons have a strained relationship with honesty.

Phong Nguyen   April 11th, 2008 3:05 pm ET

There is no need for Hillary to embellish her records because they are great as is. It was a mistake and she admitted it. Let's move on as long as it is not repeated often! This is the first time I heard of something like this from her! S. Obama claimed to be a law professor in one of the early debates, which was not true! S. Obama denied hearing those racial remarks in his church, which was not true! S. Obama denied his campaign met with a Canadian trade official, which was not true!

Renee /Expat Winterthur Switzerland   April 11th, 2008 3:05 pm ET

Mark   April 11th, 2008 3:05 pm ET

I admire public service, but Hillary should focus on her marriage. Obviously there is no room for both Bill and the United States.

Ed   April 11th, 2008 3:04 pm ET

If she can't control him now how will she control him when he's First Gentleman? Actually Hillary seems to have very little control of her staff (Mark Penn) as well. What kind of Administration will she govern? On the flip side of the three canidates OBAMA has had the a very well run political campaign that has managed to go against the very politically experienced Clinton machine and (so far) beat it.

Jeff   April 11th, 2008 3:04 pm ET

I guess that he just "misspoke" three times. This is a claim that she made more than one over a period of days, it wasn't a single "misstatement".

Allan   April 11th, 2008 3:04 pm ET

Good job. Hillary finally got one right.

Now watch and see. Her fans will say:

"This proves that Hillary is able to stand up to Bill and therefore strong and read to lead on day one and blah blah blah…"

When you have to publicly rebuke your husband for perpetuating the ONE lie you've owned up to, you're climbing your way back up from the bottom of a very deep and slimy barrel.

James   April 11th, 2008 3:04 pm ET

Worse yet for the democrats, Bill is putting Hillary in the same camp as McCain – using "senior moments" to explain gaffes. Furthermore, no matter how old you get, I don't think you really forget if bullets are whizzing past you.

In the democratic party we elect by delagates. You were fine with the rules when you were 30 points up but now that a guy named Barack Obama is beating you badly it is a different story.

I WISH THE MEDIA would stop saying it is close it is NOT. IT IS OVER for Hillary if Obama lost 12 in a row he would of been gone before Texas and Ohio had a chance to vote.

Cindy   April 11th, 2008 2:58 pm ET

Hillary NEVER apologizes, she twists the facts!

In-fighting again— this time within her marriage for all amreicans to see! Do her supporters really not see that this is no way to handle ones personal affairs and certainly not the way to handle a campaign!!!

Go ahead Hillary, denounce and reject Bill but remember to keep him as an advisor– Isn't that the way you handle shaddy, incompetent, back stabbing people within your campaign?

Cher   April 11th, 2008 2:58 pm ET

And the comedy routine continues…

R CAL   April 11th, 2008 2:58 pm ET

Bill, Bill, Bill. Please, stop. Find a nice quiet place, and go there. You are not helping, truly.

Bosnian Sniper   April 11th, 2008 2:58 pm ET

Yes, this bodes really well for a Clinton Presidency. The Preisdent's spouse, a former President and larger-than-life figure himself, making statements that contradict the President's policy statements, and having to be reeled back in.

Should be smooth sailing…

Obama '08

Boye   April 11th, 2008 2:58 pm ET

I honestly think Bill doesn't want his wife to be president.

Karon   April 11th, 2008 2:58 pm ET

I wished I was a fly on the wall at the Clintons'house. I bet she will give Bill an earful for bringing up her lies again.
I love it!!! Bill keep it up!

Marilyn   April 11th, 2008 2:58 pm ET

Of course the media overreacted. They always overreact!!

tigerakabj   April 11th, 2008 2:58 pm ET

No, keep talking Bill. Implosion is underway folks. I am ashamed I ever thought about voting for you Hillary and supporting you Bill. Obama 2008!!

Pennsylvania Joe   April 11th, 2008 2:57 pm ET

The Clintons are a disaster. I was planning on voting for them until the past few weeks when her campaign clearly imploded.

I was looking for a clear indication of her leadership abilities and it's clear from the way she has run her campaign that she doesn't have any!!!

My vote is going to Sen. Barack Obama. I always liked him but needed to see more of him. And his recent trips through PA have helped me make up my mind.

Jean, CANADA   April 11th, 2008 2:57 pm ET

HAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHA!!!! Absolutely LOVE IT!!

OBAMA….countinue to just let her brandish her shovel so she can dig her own holes!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!

OBAMA 08, 12…TRUTH, INTEGRITY, INTELLIGENCE and sound JUDGEMENT

Marc Canada   April 11th, 2008 2:57 pm ET

Bill's the best thing ever to happen to Obama.

i love Hillary   April 11th, 2008 2:57 pm ET

I could not say this any better, so i copied it:

You go Hillary! You are our American girl!

The Democratic party would be wise to remember that for decades the largest voting block in the party has been white women and WHITE WOMEN OVERWHELMINGLY WANT HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT!! We will not have Barack Hussein Obama shoved down our throats by the corporate owned media who promote Obama 24/7 as they attack Hillary. The media support Obama because they know he's unelectable.

Investigative journalists (are they any??) should be asking Obama, Obama's campaign manager David Axelrod and Obama supporter David Wilhelm (Wilhelm is named in Rezko's criminal trial now underway in Chicago) about their connections to the toxic trio of Syrian born Antoin Rezko, Kenya, Africa leader Odinga (is he Obama's cousin??) and scariest of all AUCHI, who is also currently under criminal indictment.

Also, the revelations of Obama's connections to Crown, Exelon, casinos, Emil Jones, Ayers & Dorhn, "pastors" Wright, Moss and Meeks, etc, are enough to bring down Obama, add in the toxic trio of Rezko, Auchi and Odinga and he's a fatally flawed candidate, now and in the future. The Dems would be foolish to nominate Obama,he's too risky and unelectable. He would destroy the entire ticket in a general election.

WHEN WOMEN VOTE, DEMOCRATS WIN.

NO HILLARY AND IT'S PRESIDENT JOHN MCCAIN.

COUNTRY FIRST, PARTY SECOND. PATRIOTISM MATTERS.

*VOTE SMART! *VOTE PATRIOTIC! * VOTE HILLARY!*

Sean   April 11th, 2008 2:56 pm ET

If she can't control her husband or her campaign staff, why does anyone think she can lead this country? No one close to her has any respect for her, obviously. That should tell you everything.

Sue   April 11th, 2008 2:56 pm ET

She has yet to apologize or answer any directly related questions reagarding Nafta or CFTA. I guess she thinks with all the money Bills making, she does not owe the American people any truths. The only thing she has done right is just now when she tells Bill to Shut Up. The two of them are degrading the office of President, and need to just go away!

Marty in Orlando   April 11th, 2008 2:56 pm ET

You both should knock if off and out of the race!
Please get out so the party can be united.

Obama '08

Jane   April 11th, 2008 2:56 pm ET

More melodrama from the Clintons…. Who would have thunk it….

Obama or McCain '08

Mike   April 11th, 2008 2:56 pm ET

No Big Deal.

Harrison   April 11th, 2008 2:56 pm ET

Don't worry, CNN, you'll still get more quotes and amusing comments from Bubba. He cannot keep his mouth shut – not in his nature or appealing to his ego.

Sara from Arizona   April 11th, 2008 2:56 pm ET

Hwe campaign is like a three ring circus, laughable. OBAMA 08′

Mike   April 11th, 2008 2:56 pm ET

ha ha ha ha…her campaign is a wrap!!

April in Texas   April 11th, 2008 2:56 pm ET

For someone who tried to laugh off the Colombia thing that Bill was involved in and then tried to laugh off the Bosnia thing on Leno and now telling Bill to knock it off? Geez which Hillary is it? I guess miss speaking runs in your family as when he did bring it back up his info was even wrong. You too need a nap with all this sleep deprivation you are going through. As per Bills words "Chill Out"

Obama 08

Dee JAY in miami   April 11th, 2008 2:54 pm ET

LIERS>>>>>>>>>>>

OBAMA 08

Peter Kavanagh   April 11th, 2008 2:53 pm ET

What else can really be said about this campaign ? If this isn't the worst run campaign ever by a major candidate then whose is ?

Penn , you have the power to end this campaign so that the party can heal and Obama can win the election .

Do the right thing .

Obama 08 !!!

YES YOU CAN PENN !!!

RickytheGriff   April 11th, 2008 2:53 pm ET

Oh my God.

Do we really want the Hillary and Bill Show for four years? Didn't we suffer enough the first time around? What did we exactly do to deserve this?!

America must have Abused Partner Syndrome!

Lovely in VA   April 11th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

She said it more than once late at night. She said it at four separate events. The liars! I'll be so glaaad when they are out of this and we don't have to listen to their lies and coverups.

Angus McDugan   April 11th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

Bill… Let it die down and quit bringing it up. Gosh darn… She is trying to win.

Angus in 2008.

Corey, Maryland   April 11th, 2008 2:51 pm ET
