Sen. Clinton enjoyed a shot of whiskey Saturday night in Indiana. (Photo Credit: AP)

CROWN POINT, Indiana – After a day of taking shots at rival Sen. Barack Obama over his "bitter" remarks, Sen. Hillary Clinton relaxed in Crown Point, Indiana and took a shot of a different kind – Crown Royal whiskey.

Clinton was at Bronko’s Restaurant having a beer when the bartender asked, “You want a shot with that Hillary?” After some deliberation, Clinton settled on a shot of Crown Royal, a Canadian whiskey.

Later in the evening, the Democratic presidential hopeful also sat down and had some pizza.

I guess the Obama-bots will jump on the Canadian whiskey? I like Crown Royal myself. But, I really prefer Hornitos tequila. OOPs, that is from Mexico. Me bad….

me and millions.   April 13th, 2008 10:29 am ET

Obama and his supporters have a real disconnect with American people.

On one hand, Obama states Americans are bitter and angry because their government does not listen to them and has left them behind. And this frustration is reflected at the polls. True enough.

But then, The voters of Fl and Mi are being disenfranchised. The state and local governments are not listening to the people and are leaving them behind. They made rules to discount the votes of those Americans. Worse yet, voters are being punished, in a most undemocratic way, for the sins of elected officials.

How can this NOT create anger and bitterness that will be reflected in the polls in Nov. And Obama, hypocritically has hired lawyers to block a revote.

Matt   April 13th, 2008 10:29 am ET

See, she's just like us common folk….kinda reminds me of another president people wanted to have a beer w/….GW Bush…..that worked out well…..sarcasm

Now she's drinking to get votes, she's laughable. Are the American people going to fall for this again? Beware as soon as she get elected it's back to the same old stuff. Foreign trade agreements, lies, bad health care(she already failed at it once), lies, more war, lies. She'll come out richer than before however.

Daniel, Philadelphia   April 13th, 2008 10:29 am ET

Drinking on the job…great.

stephen   April 13th, 2008 10:30 am ET

she could of drank an American Whiskey. Did you bring her pistol with her, since she is magically pro-gun now.

DM. Arlington Texas   April 13th, 2008 10:30 am ET

Now, that the real Senator Clinton that why she thought whe was under sniper fire. See that answer the question to why Bill Clinton was on the other side of the white house with Monica Lewinski because Hillary was likely drunk.

See George Bush can at least say he got help.

PJ Cooke   April 13th, 2008 10:31 am ET

Doesn't that taste bitter?

ANTI CLINTONS   April 13th, 2008 10:32 am ET

Eat, drink and get fatter! the old alchy shows her true side, an old drunk! she is drunk most of the time you can see her blood shot eyes and her crooked walking like her crooked husband.

She looks like a fish out of water if she isn't drinking and shooting her mouth off, no wonder she makes up so many lies and stories then when she is sober, she can't keep them straight. She better get loaded up soon, she is about to get thrown out of the elections when Obama kicks her big butt out!

Lourdes   April 13th, 2008 10:32 am ET

CANADIAN whiskey? LOL.

Scott   April 13th, 2008 10:33 am ET

Huntingdon PA   April 13th, 2008 10:33 am ET

Obama is an elitist.

Go Hillary Go!

All the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

We can trust Hillary. She will take care of the USA and the world

me and millions.   April 13th, 2008 10:33 am ET

Hillary is right.

Obama is out of touch.

His lawyers Blocking a revote in Fl and Mi is just another example of government NOT listening to the people and leaving them behind.

Those voters are being punished for the actions of elected officials. To deny the vote is UNdemocratic and does not sit well with Americans. Yes, the voters of Fl and Mi too will become angry and bitter and they too will vote their frustration in Nov.

How can such a smart man not endorse and support the people's right to have their votes count? And how can he be blind to the fact that this will hurt the democratic party and himself in particular this Nov?

Even if he buys the nomination and were THE only name on the Nov ballot- he would not get my vote.

Kevin, fl   April 13th, 2008 10:33 am ET

I love Hillary- I would love to have a beer with her.

Karen   April 13th, 2008 10:34 am ET

Hillary campagin staffers who accuse Obama of appealing to "latte liberals" miss that Hillary herself IS a "latte liberal", Whiskey shot to the contrary.

Nikole   April 13th, 2008 10:34 am ET

ME AND MILLIONS— Your anger is misplaced. How can "Hillarybots" blame Obama for FL and MI? He had nothing to do with that. And she didn't care about your voices being heard at the beginning of this race when she was leading.
Critical thinking is severely lacking these days.

Kevin, fl   April 13th, 2008 10:35 am ET

Obama is an elitist liberal and his wife is a racist. It's amazing how many Obamaniacs are blind to this The democrats will never win without Hillary

Brett   April 13th, 2008 10:36 am ET

Yay! You deserve it, Hillary. Relax and take it easy!

Carol   April 13th, 2008 10:37 am ET

This is ridiculous! I can't believe that a presidential primary is slamming a shot in a pub. Clearly pandering, and shows that she will stoop to any level to win votes.

honkey white guy from cali   April 13th, 2008 10:37 am ET

I can not believe this bitter crap is even getting attention it was just one more example of Hillary going negative and splitting people even further!

How can she say he is out of contact with the American people there are the ones paying his bills not her in Mc Cain they have Corp. American and the lobby behind them him. she is so low! i like crown royal also but come on how presidential can she get! but I am not bothered anyway she will lose in PA I can not believe people there will vote for someone that obviously can not run the country and has been making money from them losing there jobs.

Go Obama 08

YES HILLARY IS BITTER, SOUR AND BOILING. SHE TURNS TO CORN FOR POWER AS SHE GETS TIRE QUICKLY. SHE IS A BEERSHIVA AND A CORN DIVA. A BAD COMBINATION FOR 3AM. HER CAMPAIGN WILL GO UP IN FUMES SOON AS SHE EVAPORATES.

Steve   April 13th, 2008 10:38 am ET

Hillary would snort coke and shoot heroin if she thought it would help her get elected.

carolinas   April 13th, 2008 10:38 am ET

Drinking Canadian whisky while campaigning in Indiana…Not at all a decent step as a mother. I too wonder that how low she can go to win this nomination by hook or crook method…shame Hillary.

OBAMA 2008….!!!!

Ephy   April 13th, 2008 10:38 am ET

Certainly, she is doing more harm than help to herself and her family's legacy (if any).
All she's done of late pertains to nihilism. That is, "herself or nothing".
Electorate won’t put long before they have deciphered her innermost egoistic intents.

All of a sudden she is for the 2nd amendment…sure she is, make her join the NRA first then we will see how far that goes LOL! Lying witch!

hazwalnut   April 13th, 2008 10:38 am ET

Go Hillary, you deserve to have a shot of whiskey. Canadian whiskey is the best and everyone who drinks whiskey knows that. Cheap whiskey gives you a headache. Just the facts but the unsophisticated Obama supporters wouldn't know that…they wish they were white winedrinkers…in fact, hey're the Thunderbird/Colt 45 group.

Jean   April 13th, 2008 10:39 am ET

You Obama lover are such idiots get a frigging life. I guess you think you are perfect . Wake up call you're not. Go Hillary. Jean

Tammy - KCMO   April 13th, 2008 10:39 am ET

Obama has nothing to apologize for in the comment he made. The average people he is talking about understood his comment and knows that he sympathizes with what we are going through.
Clinton on the other hand, will jump on anything that is said and twist it. Listening to her and her lies makes me need a drink! This person doesn't have a clue and I hope people wake up and don't vote her and Bill back into the White House.

WE ARE BITTER AS HELL AND NOT GOING TO TAKE CLINTONS ANYMORE.

Hayden   April 13th, 2008 10:39 am ET

At least Hillary is not being a snob by making demeaning remarks about small town America behind their backs like Obama……..

Instead she's having pizza and drinking beer and whisky with these people.

Go Hillary!

BatCat05   April 13th, 2008 10:40 am ET

Obama was saying that Americans have been promised economic changes that remain unfulfilled to this day. What explaination is needed for the anger and bitterness toward those Clinton and McCain-like politicians that have promised much and delivered next to nothing. Look at the record job outsourcing and job losses, the dollars decline and general mistrust of the government that millions of hard working Americans are affected by everyday. Many will not see the truth in the context of Obama's message, that's sad. Let Hillary convince you that you have been insulted, rather than explain why she couldn't deliver the jobs to the people of New York she promised and won't deliver to America if elected.

Ian, Maryland   April 13th, 2008 10:41 am ET

People, get over FL and MI. The state parties decided not to have revotes. The Michigan Supreme Court declared the election void. Put it behind you and realize your candidate WILL NOT WIN!!!

Martin in PA   April 13th, 2008 10:41 am ET

Get a grip, Huntingdon PA - Hillary is as "elitist" as they get. See if she gives a hoot about the "small people" when she gets into office. NOT. She'll just take care of filling her pockets and boosting her ego.

UGH!!!

David   April 13th, 2008 10:42 am ET

The biggest news is that Hillary was drinking a beer then went liquour. What a phony!!! Everybody knows "Beer before liquor, never sicker, liquor before beer, never fear"

kingsley   April 13th, 2008 10:43 am ET

coooh blimey ! now let me put this in perspective ! mis step all the way to two weeks to penn, try hard to split hairs on an American bitter truth, only this time, told by a fellow contestant, due to drunkenness and livid with anger and racsism that the other guy is about to steal the show, jump to the semantics while terribly drunk, all this time, not even close to the fact that everything now is on auto pilot to the greatest fall of a desperate politician who just couldnt get it. I am sorry HILLARY, you are a bad movie that stayed on an hour too long !

Andy   April 13th, 2008 10:44 am ET

Clinton and all of your pseudo-left wing supporters (that somehow manage to accommodate free trade), the Democratic party is done with you. Better switch to the other party now.

Us young kids are kicking you hypocrites out. Goodbye. Say hello to the new America

Roger   April 13th, 2008 10:44 am ET

All my life, I never knew Crown Royal was a canadian wiskey. Is this an innuendo or something.

Hillary is just like the rest of us Americans. She's down to earth,

a true American, does not look down on the Penn residents.

I hope everone read blackwell's column, he hit it right on the head

with Obama. If Obama is elected President all of us white and any

other race that is not black had better run for cover. Mark my words

Rev Wright and his anti American wife will be right by his side along

Charlotte   April 13th, 2008 10:46 am ET

Way to go Hillary…Obama is a jerk..Well, lets see, if your out of work and bitter, you become a gun toting, bible thumping, homosexual racist? I think he just stepped in it again. He is also a liar, worst then Hillary. She only embelished her trip to Bosnia. She was opposed to NAFTA and is opposed to CAFTA. People need to get the facts straight. He flat out lied about his Rev. and Rezko and NAFTA. Why do people continue to follow him as if he were a messiah?

Spider   April 13th, 2008 10:46 am ET

Wow. Drinking Canadian whiskey makes you unpatriotic? Leave it to the Obominations to come up with that.

She's just trying to appeal to the "average bitter US citizen" who resorts to drinking when things get bad economically and their religion, guns and racism haven't made them feel better. You just missed one Barack. Alcoholism is another result of bitterness.

Pier Giacalone   April 13th, 2008 10:47 am ET

Good Choice, Crown Royal. She will need a lot more of it in days to come. I love Crown, but I am still voteing for McCain.

Opportunistic Pandering   April 13th, 2008 10:48 am ET

With her guns story, her Bosnia story, and all the other things she conveniently claims to be or do, apparently what she really has experience with, and what she will be ready to do from day one, is lie.

Delaware   April 13th, 2008 10:49 am ET

Do not take what Barack said about biterness out of context. He did not mean that people was bitter because they were angry at any body. People are really fed up and it is real when they see their jobs been shipping to Mexico, China ,or India when they cannot find another job that pay the same and they are falling deeper and deeper in debt. All these jobs loses in America is due to NAFTA and NAFTA is the trade deal that Bill and Hillary were behind when they were in office.
We cannot trust Hillary when she goes behind Americans back and start negotiating trade with Comlumbia a country where previous gorvernment Democrat and republicans had avoided to deal with for various reasons. I want to ask Hillary what is her next trade move? May be Iran, Cuba, Lybia, Sudan, or communist Korea. We need transparency in our gorverment and we say no to candidate that is negotiating trade behind doors and when things get heated and say they were opposed it. We do not believe you. United we stand and we stand for Barack Obama. United States of America for Obama.

Celina Bean   April 13th, 2008 10:49 am ET

The problem that I have with this is that this is not an original idea. Hillary is only doing this to top Obama having a beer with the guys. Well, frankly it just does not look very authentic. I also think that this just looks tacky of her having a shot of whiskey. It just does not look right. So I am not impressed as it just looks too staged.

Jacqueline, NY   April 13th, 2008 10:50 am ET

Americans have a choice of electing an honest person for president or a liar or an old bag. Let Washington know that we are not stupid as they make us out be. They are making millions and people can't fill up their gas tanks. We need to vote with intelligence and let these people know we are sick and tired and "Bitter" for being left behind. I would love to go to one of Hillarys closed door fund raiser and see what she says. I know she never saw Obama coming. She thought she had this nomination in the bag. Since she did not have a backup plan, she has to do all the sleezy things she is doing. Margaret Thatcher and Indira Gandhi were great women leaders who would never use their gender to get votes or accuse the boys of picking on them. For someone who touts experience, her campaign is a financial mess, she has to lie, she still has not released her 2007 taxes, she filed an extension. I wonder why? We are not suckers and its about time we let them know this,

Hillary The True Winner!   April 13th, 2008 10:50 am ET

Brandon   April 13th, 2008 10:50 am ET

Does this really matter? Is this really indicative of her support for foreign products? Maybe she just likes Crown Royal. Maybe it's because she was in Crown Point, Indiana. Maybe who cares! Do you have to pick apart every single thing the candidates do, like the kind of alcohol they drink?

Buzz   April 13th, 2008 10:50 am ET

So many angry BITTER women attaching their egos to Hillary Clinton. If Obama loses, yeah, I'll be sad. But I am not going to vote Republican so I can pout.
Either Obama or Clinton would be better than McCain for America. I think Obama will win, but if Clinton nabs it, I will still support her because I happen to be a rational democrat with self esteem that extends beyond my candidate of choice.
Get a grip ladies. A failure for Hillary is no more a failure for all women than an Obama loss is a failure for all Blacks in America. Try to have some perspective please.

I read the comment that obahma had made about the people in pa.
Do we really want to have a racist president? that is what his comments were! If it was a white person that made this comment we would have the naacp on our backs. Look at the comments that his
spiritual advisor made know look at what he said. People need to see what he really is!!!!

Matt   April 13th, 2008 10:52 am ET

I'm not a Hillary supporter at all, I think she's far from trustowrthy, but who cares about this article? So she drank a Canadian whiskey. It's not like she was in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Crown Royal is a top-shelf, smooth Whiskey. Personally I prefer Jameson (uh oh…an Irish brand). Give the lady a break.

It's sad how small the minutia is that we use to determine who our candidate will or won't be. That says something about us…not them.

Celina Bean   April 13th, 2008 10:55 am ET

It is sad that in this day and time that we still have people, such as Jan's statements above, who make such racist statements and feel good about it. It is sad that we have people like that who feel so superior to others that they are willing to make such racist remarks in public. I'm sure that they thought this statement was cool, but just shows so much ignorance that you have to feel sorry for them. I'm just glad that most Americans don't have this same sort of thought process. That would be such a tragedy.

E1944   April 13th, 2008 10:55 am ET

I think she had knocked down a few when the reporter asked her
a question about Bill and she thought it was so funny. Angels
were dancing in her head from hitting the bottle.

joe   April 13th, 2008 10:55 am ET

After finding out Bill was on the other side of the White House with Lewinski, Hillary went to Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland and made a speech. Part of her speech included these words….We have a choice how to react. We can be pulled down by these disappointments, or we can be made BITTER and angry. But then we are losers……. Some may think Obama stereotyped us but Hillary called us bitter and losers years ago. Go figure!

ILoveAmerica   April 13th, 2008 10:55 am ET

First she's a gun lover, then she's drinking whiskey - now, will someone please bring the lady some chewing tobacco?

Hillary's attempts to turn herself into "one of the boys" are becoming ludicrous. I guarantee she'll change a tire on a pickup truck before this campaign is over.

Patrick Anthony Drake/Atlanta, GA   April 13th, 2008 10:56 am ET

I'm a beer drinker myself.

Go Hillary!

Sherylanne   April 13th, 2008 10:57 am ET

Obama again, with his "misstatements" then we will see him give a glorified speech and all will be forgiven..NOT THIS TIME.

He, as well as his wife Michelle, constantly show their dislike of the "typical white American". From the embracing of their Pastor Wright, to Michelle's comment "America is mean".

Obama was raised in an elitist lifestyle and he never had to wonder where his next meal was coming from or losing his home. He was given a good life that most of us will never obtain. He cannot relate to the daily struggles of us blue-collar workers.

I am struggling on how am I going to survive. I watch my children struggling; losing their homes, their jobs, their spirit. I do not embrace guns or religion to help me survive; I look to God for strength and trust the path he has placed for us.

My bubble has broken with the Obamas and I really did believe. I am looking at Clinton differently; she does understand the struggles and her having a drink is no different than Obama bowling.

SN from MN   April 13th, 2008 10:57 am ET

I notice CNN is not allowing comments on Obama's "clinging to religion" issue, but on the other hand, they are allowing the Obama generation continue to take shots at Sen. Clinton. Nice even handedness!

NObama!

Hillary '08!

Brian from California   April 13th, 2008 10:58 am ET

She probably wanted to celebrate when her staff told her that Obama's tax plan will hit people in Pennsylvania with taxes in the 64% when you factor in the removal of the ceiling of $200,000 and the 12.5% tax for Medicare and Social Security. In addition, he will hit the Corporation with an additional 10% tax. He will punish you and I and business that hire you and I so hard it will be by far an OBMANATION!!! Any smart businessman will leave and go to another country and hire the people in that country, duh!!!

Oh I kow what you democrats are going to say, business is evil and needs to be punished, that we should live in a welfare state. I disagree and the irony is that by raising taxes you end up slowing the economy significantly that you end up receiving less tax revenue than when it is bustling.

Do you think CNN, MSNBC or any of the main string media want to talk about ever plan to talk about the Obama tax plan and how hard it will hit everybody

Karen   April 13th, 2008 10:58 am ET

If she'll do this in public, what does she do in private? This doesn't look Presidential at all!

alice2   April 13th, 2008 10:59 am ET

CANADIAN whiskey - Doesn't that mean Hillary is ANTI-AMERICAN??? - If that was Barack, Hillary would be accusing him of being ANTI-AMERICAN, also another strike against him for DRINKING ALACHOL. It is obvious Hillary is getting so desperate to fit in & get votes she will stoop to doing anything. She is getting more & more ridiculous & just laughable to think she's running for Pres of U.S.

Dianne   April 13th, 2008 10:59 am ET

Gee, I wonder if she drinks whiskey while handling her guns!!?? Anything thing for a vote!!!

henriettap   April 13th, 2008 10:59 am ET

Hillary is trying to keep Obamas statement out front because she still hasn't come up with her taxes for the last year and she is also trying to get people to forget that she still has Mark Penn on her staff also if she does this then she hopes that people will forget about her forgetting that she did not land under fire in Bosnia as she kept repeating. Then Bill gets on the stomp for her and lets people know how forgetful she is at the age of 60,and when she gets the 3:00 in the morning call she will need all of her faculties about her.Now he has lived with her all these years so he should know her faults. And she can't come up with where some of her and Bills millions come from I say they are the elitest. And as for McCain he is still having problems remembering who the warring factions are in the middle east. And probably still has has his friend Charles Keating on his mind.

M Johnson   April 13th, 2008 10:59 am ET

Once again dirt, slander and 'entertaining' distractions prove to be the essence of American politics. Then we complain about the quality of our leadership? We wonder why young people shy away?

Delaware   April 13th, 2008 10:59 am ET

What Obama meant is all the lies that Candidates like Hillary is telling us during campaign and when they get elected they forget about us. He was was talking about the old Washington way that people are fed up with. Do not negotiate trade with Columbia and when we find out you tell us you were opposed it. This is what people are bitter against the lies the fake promises. Not because you told us that you were opposed the trade deal with Columbia does not mean we believe you. Hillary is telling us that she is experience has she been president before? No! Neither is McCain and Obama. We need a trustworthy president with good judgment not Hillary. She told us lies about Bosnia and Columbia enough is enough.

After Obama's "bitter" remarks - I'm not supporting him. This article shows Hillary fun, and cool side. I like it.

Annie   April 13th, 2008 10:59 am ET

Elite= a group of people considered to be the best in a particular society or category, esp. because of their power, talent, or wealth : China's educated elite | [as adj. ] an elite combat force.

Why is it so bad to be considered "elite"? Why is intellectual capability and advanced education frowned upon in our country? Many people who are at the top worked VERY hard to get there and weren't handed their successes or born into them. Obama is one of those people. I want the elite running our country…the "average guy" who got C's in school and would rather clear brush than read a book has done our country a LOT of harm.

And, if you agree with the logic that elite is bad, how do you justify voting for the woman who has made over $100 million dollars, whose daughter got a 6 figure salary at a hedge fund fresh out of college (and has no student loans to pay back), who lies continuously to the American people because she underestimates our capability to see through her? I just don't get it.

Ethan   April 13th, 2008 11:00 am ET

Wow, what do they only post the most inane comments on here? "Obama is out of touch!"… "Obamaniancs only care about themselves"…"omg CANADIAN whiskey"… Just goes to show the intellectual level of CNN's viewers. It's time people wake up and get their news from local sources, blogs, and European papers that won't spin every single thing these poor candidates do. I happen to like Crown Royal and think it's funny that she apparently has pretty good taste in liquor. I am a Hillary supporter, but an Obama voter.

demo crazy   April 13th, 2008 11:00 am ET

my lord, CNN: please, all your articles are on Clinton. You have yet to explain and cover the issue of Nafta and the Colombians,Bill and his remarks about Bosnia, w hich you have totally ignored, and yes she has been talking about the bitter remarks to get us all away from those remarks, but the people are not dumb as she call us……

please report the truth, she is drinking while working???
she lies
her husband lies about what the media said,
her daugther does not want to respond to answers, yet she wants to publically campaign,
what a joke

WISDOM   April 13th, 2008 11:00 am ET

Come on Billary Supporters!

I think she is done! I have seen enough lies out of her mouth.
Do you want me to remind those to you die hard Billary supporters?

Ok! Here they are:
1. Vote "Yes" on Iraq war: You said you din't know that you're voting for the war even though the title of the resolution was "Authorization of military force against Iraq".

2. Vote for the energy bill that gave huge tax breaks to oil companies, then when you're asked about this vote during the debate in LA, your response was: "Well, I voted for it then, but I was hoping that the bill does not go through" It reminds me the "Flip-Flop" woe that eventually gave 4 more year to Bush.

3. Promoting the "NAFTA" when she was the first lady, now she said she was always against the NAFTA? If you think this is not a misleading, then what is misleading?

4. Vote for the Bankruptcy Reform Bill that makes ordinary people like us will have very hard to have a second chance when you're in "a tough luck" situation.

5. Bosnia sniper fire? Well, let's give her that as a joke….She is kind a lady who feels OK to mix a little lie if it makes her story more appealing to people like you die hard Billay supporters.

6. Should I go on? I really hate her when she undermines people's intelligence. If you don't feel insulted when she speaks lies like these, then you truly deserve McBush for 4 years.

Sometimes acknowledging the truth takes more than emotional feelings from your heart, but a wise man will ask God for WISDOM!

Now, honestly, who do you think posses WISDOM? Billary, McBush or
Barack Obama? I think if you have a bit of wisdom, then you will know the answer to this question. I'm a patriotic American who believes in Jesus as my personal saver. When I think about what Jesus teach us and what's going on in this country's politics, they are contradicting in some degree. So we do need some change in politics. Let's hope that we can make this change in this November. God bless you and America and whole world (not just whole white world)!

hillary is such a people person, she understands small town PA, and small town America. barack doesn't connect with them, and his recent statements prove that. he will never win a general election. the swift boat people will have a field day with all of his "words that matter".

PIZZA AND BEER AND ONE FOR THE ROAD . THAT'S GOOD WHEN YOU'RE ON THE ROAD CAMPAIGNING AND YOU NEED TO SIT AND HAVE A QUICK LITTLE SNACK AND NO TIME FOR A SIT DOWN DINNER. AND HAVE A CHAT WITH PEOPLE IN THE RESTAURANT.
THAT'S THE KIND OF ATMOSPHERE, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HILLARY TOO. UNFORTUNATELY THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE WANTING THE SAME THING AND WHAT WITH SO MANY SECURITY PEOPLE, ONE CANT JUST FOLLOW HILLARY EVERYWHERE.
NOW, THESE PEOPLE WHO CRITICIZE HILLARY FOR EVERYTHING SHE DOES, EVEN IN THIS LITTLE OFF THE ROAD EATING PLACE

Lol, nihilism isn't "herself or nothing". If you're talking about ethics, then it is a rejection of morality and of all claims to power. It is essentially believing in nothing, or the idea of believing in nothing. So it isn't about one's self per se.

Michigan had a chance to have a regular primary. Our Ms. Granholm wanted to switch things around. Now she has to deal with the consiquences. I'm sorry, but you don't get a "do-over" just to suit your whims. Deal with it. Michigan is quickly sinking far beyond any depression of the 40's. We have greater issues to deal with here. Now all of Michigan has to live with Granholms decisions, wether we like it or not. Now lets figure out how to get our economy going, THAT'S something to spend time and resources on.

Why does the media keep on harrasing the Clinton's? I want to know as a citizen why they really hate the Clinton's. is it time to talk about BHO what really he can do for this country? Why don't we talk about if he really can win the November election if he ended to be the nominee. Guys, let's get real here! We all know that the Clinton's supporters will not vote for him no matter what happened. Why does the media keep on breaking the party apart? CNN, the only way to see the D-party to win in November is to see the two of them running together! or else, we just have to donate our money to the Republicans.

kentucky   April 13th, 2008 11:04 am ET

Hey CNN, here's a real "SHOT" for you! About a week ago a artical by Arianna Huffington "The Clinton-Columbia Connection" The artical not only tells about the 800 thousand Bill took from the Colunbians, but also 31 million that was donated by one of his oil buddies to the "Clinton Family Foundation." This is the the some foundation that the Clintons have used for their so called charities that were in part sent to some charities when Hillary started running for President. There are many articals about these scandals that can be found on REAL CLEAR POLITICS. Will you tell us more??

Wow. I read a comment here about how "drinking Canadian whiskey … is a crook's method"

Since when is crown royal illegal?

Some Americans need to grow up. MOST ASPECTS OF AMERICA ARE WORSE THAN EUROPE, CANADA, ETC.

Examples: Healthcare, life-style, food (some cases), education (free tuition for all universities in Europe).

Except, we technically do have the most advanced "technology" in Healthcare. We are just so preoccupied with getting money to the insurance comps that we don't use the technology

wyoming dem   April 13th, 2008 11:05 am ET

Keith   April 13th, 2008 11:05 am ET

Why is this story even newsworthy? So she had a shot of whiskey and some pizza. Big deal. I am an Obama supporter and even the story of him bowling I thought was ridiculous and out of focus. Over 4,000 troops are dead in Iraq and the media is reporting on what kind of whiskey she is drinking. How sad.

Elizabeth   April 13th, 2008 11:05 am ET

Jan, Lisa and all those who are SO AFRAID of Obama. Please try to curb your racists fears. After all it is and has been the black population support that have supported WHITE presidents for years.

Where are our morals that we can want to elect someone who has deliberately LIED, not mis-spoke, over someone who genuninely clumsily stated something that is true.

I forgot - it was people like you and other Reagan Democrats who drak the kool-aid of the Swift boaters who elected this moron we now have in office and got us into this mess. The reason you are paying nearly $4.00 at the gas pump.

Where is your morals and critical thinking when the husband of Hillary got paid $800,000 for a speech supporting the kind of trade agreements that are costing those in rural PA, NC and Indiana the jobs.

Reasoning is a hell of a thing.

mike   April 13th, 2008 11:05 am ET

Obama has no chance of winning in November. He is a rookie senator, of course he has no "baggage" yet! People should chill and use their brains because, clearly, the average american is stupid.
And stop calling Hillary a liar.

At least that's all you can say. Obama has been in the spotlight for, what, less than a year and he is already an elitist anti-american ignorant naive racist.

GO HILLARY

I got a box of Kroger Oatmeal from Canada. I still think NAFTA needs revisted for a fix. I'd rather have oats from Canada than China. So Hillary had a shot of whisky, no big deal, she's not a alcoholic like Bush making stupid decisions for our country. At least she will fix what is brike & what is not brike she won't fix. Sounds Like common sense to me. Exactly what this country needs. A President with common sense.

Ryan   April 13th, 2008 11:06 am ET

Ah yes, now Hillary is a good ol' girl, just drinkin' whiskey and shootin' guns with her pa' out on the back forty. She's a regular, hard working, average american, just like everyone she wants to vote for her. And Obama is an elite jerk who is ragging on the fabric of American society.

Nope.

How much money did Ms. Clinton and her hubby make last year? How much money did the average American make last year? Now I know that all the presidential candidates made more than your average joe, but the Clintons are so far beyond McCain OR Obama that it's absurd. THEY are the ones who are out of touch with America. Hillary is one of the biggest liars and posers ever to play at American politics… which is quite impressive. Drinking whiskey and talking about guns to make yourself seem less elite…. shameless and pathetic.

The sad thing is that Obama is right… people DO cling to guns and religion and bigotry and such in many cases. Why does everyone want to argue against that? It's true! He's not being elite… he's being honest. Hillary is being MORE insulting by pandering to such people with such transparent, juvenile, obviously-just-for-the-political-gain tactics. It's the equivalent of her showing up in my state (Montana) dressed in cowboy boots with spurs, a plaid shirt, and a cowboy hat, and then trying to convince us Montanans that she is essentially one of us. Grow up, Ms. Clinton. Regardless of whether you get the nomination or not, you will NEVER be President of these United States.

Roger   April 13th, 2008 11:07 am ET

I just looked on the ticker and nearly the whole first page was something to do with the "bitter" comments. The media so overbloated it and made it into some contraversy. My god, is this the sorta "action" you guys need when there is a long pause between voting?

And now this shiny gem, Mrs. Clinton drinking. An old-fashioned way to increase blue collar support, a simple tactic both sides use. this is news? I mean really, she must have CNN under her thumb. This long pause has not boded well for clinton.

John Smith   April 13th, 2008 11:07 am ET

If Country first, and political party second etc., then
The Democrats should be ashamed to think of any Clinton ever occupying high office in this great Country.

The Clintons have:
Lied to everyone (republicans, democrats, independents, catholics, agnostics etc) in this "country'. "I never.." "Sniper fire.." etc.

Divided and brought "bitterness" out of everyone in this Country; Hillary hated by over 50% of the people in this country.

Just look at what is going on now among the democrats, thanks to Hillary and her blind supporters; it is disgusting, and I feel "bitter about it".
Anyone who votes for a Clinton does not love this country, period!

Next, for Hillary supporters who may be uneducated, here are more words for "bitter" that you can add to your vocab
1. resentful
2. angry
3. cynical
4. hostile
5. feeling cheated (as Hillary does towards Monica)
6. hot
7. strong feelings

Let's talk elitism.

Elitism means a belief that a small subset of people should decide for everyone else what's best.

Hillary wants the superdelegates (a small subset of people) to overrule the Democratic primary voters and vote for her. And she wants the pledged delegates (a small subset of people) to feel free to vote for her over the will of the people who elected them as their representatives.

You, ma'am, are an elitist.

whiskypa   April 13th, 2008 11:07 am ET

CNN - this is not news. None of this is news.

It's strange that, on the one hand, Hillary Clinton and her supporters are protesting the news media's bias. Meanwhile, on the other hand, the news media is publishing outrageous, as well as seemingly over-the-top panderingly pro-Clinton articles, such as this.

And talk about elitism - Crown Royal and 109 Million dollars in the bank?

This is not news.

Hillary Clinton is taking this a little too far as far as I am concerned. She thinks Obama is out of touch????? What about all her lies??? Did she think the people are out of touch to think they would believe her??? And Bill Clinton standing there blatantly out and out lying about her Bosnia trip??? Is he out of touch with reality???? Do you think???? I bet if Hillary Clinton had said those words, nothing would have happened. I am so sick of the Clinton's using the genda card. What in heavens name is she going to do if she is elected? Does she think that this country or other countries are not going to put her down and hard? Get a life!!! If you can't handle the media and the people of the United States saying you are wrong, then get out of the race. You should have thought about that before you applied for the job!!!! You know, it amazes me that every time Sen. Obama speaks to or about the American People like adults, the hysterical campaigns of Sens Clinton and McCain get apoplectic. Sen. Obama's "Bitter" remark is nothing more than scientific fact. When people (and I mean all people) feel as thought they have lost control over their lives, either with the looming threat of foreclosure or loss of job or not being able to keep up the medical insurance to cover their families, they look for ways to regain some level of the control they feel they've lost . Owning a gun gives the owner of that gun the feeling that he or she at least has a bit of control when it comes to protecting that which is his whether it be loved ones or property. It's a fact. And the other reaction to loss of control to a government that won't listen to the people is to seek comfort and often times that comes in the form of religion or faith. Another fact. Don't confuse an adult conversation about the nature of human beings with the hysterical and desperate claims of two candidates who see their only chance of winning this election slipping away every day.

Maggie VT   April 13th, 2008 11:12 am ET

Obama 08 YES WE CAN!

Protectwolves   April 13th, 2008 11:12 am ET

Bottomline: Hillary is the ONLY candidate that can do what needs to get done. McCain is TOO old and more of the same; Obama DOES NOT have the experience…he needed to wait another 4 to 8 years to run for President. Mrs. Obama is scary…her remarks are also questionable. Look..it's a political year and all candidates are going to say stupid things. Me? I want each of them to be detailed on how they are going to set the wonderful country on the right course to get back the prestige, economy and progressive attitude we had before the fiasco named BUSH.

Jeanne Irvin   April 13th, 2008 11:13 am ET

Clinton is trying to be one of the good old boys drinking whiskey and touting her gun experience (which I doubt) to somehow show that she's not an elitist ($109 million). I hope that Pennsylvania, Indiana and North Carolina can see through this ruse.

RSP   April 13th, 2008 11:13 am ET

Obama-bots are elitist, spoiled brats who don't have real jobs, but are paid by the Obama campaign to spend every day blogging about how they despise Hillary. This is the campaign in a nutshell. The reason there are so many pro-Obama posts here is because Hillary supporters have to work for a living. They aren't spoiled brats, like Obama, who got a full scholarship to Princeton and Harvard through Affirmative Action, but still don't understand Americans and are not proud of it. Great…this is what we're getting for 4 years?

elis   April 13th, 2008 11:13 am ET

looks as if the averageUS Americans have a major problem: they prefer lies to the truth, anytime. They sound better while truth can be ugly. What they have not learn yet: truth is like water: it always rises to its own level. Looks the Clintons and the Bushers understand the average American soul better than Obama does. They dont like education and intelligence either. It makes them feel inferior. So, at the end of the day, you have what you deserve and will get what you deserve: someone who looks down on you and rips you off at the same time…the way it is done in Banana republics around the world. Well, every nation has the government it deserves…

Some people out there writing in seem of forgotten that word exists.

Marie   April 13th, 2008 11:14 am ET

Like a lot of these political snipets, I don't think this is very newsworthy.

Although I would like to point out something to "me and the millions," which is that you keep saying you're being blamed for the actions of your elected officials. You live in a democracy where you elect people into office to make decisions on behalf of you. You and the rest of the people in your state put those people into office and you have to accept the actions they take. If you don't like the actions they are taking then fire them. You're complaining about something you brought on yourselves.

V. Sheldon   April 13th, 2008 11:15 am ET

Do we really want this, making decisions that effect the entire planet-
in the White House?
Better someone who tells the cold, hard truth to the Nation than someone who misrepresents facts, spins the truth, says one thing and means another, and then goes out with her cronies and drinks Beers and Slammers?
Think before you vote. Think carefully.
PS- Hillary, despite what you say- we are bitter here in Indiana.

"Hillary's Problem is Obama's Problem":

The problem with Hillary and Bill is that they are NOT AUTHENTIC. You could even read it from Hillary's facial expression. She is too FAKE. However, it is becoming clearer to me that DECEPTION is what you need to win an election in America, and these goes all the way to define who Americans really are: GULLIBLE, if not how can Clinton still be in the race to be the leader of the "MOST GULLIBLE country in the World"

In the case of Obama, he is too AUTHENTIC for America politics. Good for him, he is being schooled on how in America, politician should not speak the TRUTH. Here, you can't just continue to be honest with your words and expect to win votes. The way to do politics in America is to tell the people what they want to hear, even if it is not the TRUTH. Drink whiskey where voters love to drink whiskey, claim you are an avid hunter where people like hunting even if you have never shoot a catapult. Obama if you want to win an election in America, GO AND LEARN HOW TO TELL LIES!

Melanie   April 13th, 2008 11:21 am ET

She'll need another drink when she realizes America is not buying what she's trying to sell–baloney.

Adam   April 13th, 2008 11:22 am ET

THIS IS A NEWS STORY?

gerald strother   April 13th, 2008 11:23 am ET

SHE HAS NO SHAME CLINTONS, WE ARE ALL BITTER ABOUT YOU MAKING MILLIONS OFF NAFTA WHILE THE REAL AMERICA IS TRYING TO FIND JOBS THAT YOU SENT OVERSEAS

Alice   April 13th, 2008 11:23 am ET

You gotta be a fool to be fooled by this woman. When will Hillary realize it is all over? For me, I relish the thought of seeing the Clintons throw a tantrum when thsy finally fold.

c   April 13th, 2008 11:24 am ET

Sen. Clinton takes a shot of whiskey? It's all for the vote. OK..so I now tell my daughter, that in addition to pretentious crying and out and out lying and other evils I forgot, she's going to have to learn to take a whiskey shot.

That's if she wants to be President. Wonder if I can persuade her to be a Dentist instead?

Miles   April 13th, 2008 11:24 am ET

How is this news?
It looks like it is another way to show the Pennsylvanians that Hillary is in touch. Is CNN working for the Clinton campaign? Is CNN getting paid yet? Y'all sure ain't doing real journalism. Shame on you CNN

Mae   April 13th, 2008 11:25 am ET

I drank whiskey.
My daddy taught me to shoot a gun.
I changed a tire on a pickup (it was American made)
I drove a double clutch farm truck.
I baled hay.
I can tell you right now. Hillary is not a real man. I am.
Vote for me.

Seriously she is doing exactly what Obama expected her to do. Sink low and go after the gun vote and the religious vote to distract folks from her record on NAFTA, her lies on the trail and her millions in the bank.

Mr Brandon Hiller   April 13th, 2008 11:25 am ET

This is funny she calls Obama elitist but takes a shot of fine Canadian wiskey in Indiana, where she should have had Jack. We all know who the elitist is.

Rick in Pennsylvania   April 13th, 2008 11:25 am ET

The headline should have been more like Hillary sipped a shot.

maynard   April 13th, 2008 11:26 am ET

she is the woman of many faces and this is on the way to prove it

Candi   April 13th, 2008 11:26 am ET

I hope that everyone can now see that Hillary do not want Obama to get all the action. Why did Hillary make a fool of herself and drank whiskey? What else did she do after getting drunk. This is sad. Hillary no standards at all when it comes to this campaign election. No morals at all, she seem to enjoy every shot she drank.

brittany   April 13th, 2008 11:26 am ET

Wow people. The woman is human. If she wants to take a shot and eat pizza, so be it. If I was in her shoes right now I'd be doing a lot more than one shot.

Peter   April 13th, 2008 11:28 am ET

She is worth 109M+dollars anyway. Loook the people she is drinking with. They are not regular folks. No wonder Obama has such a support!

Tony in NM   April 13th, 2008 11:30 am ET

alcohol and guns….

what a role model for the young

jfz   April 13th, 2008 11:30 am ET

These politicians will do anything except discuss the issues (they'll mention them, but not say what they'll do about them). They're driving ME to drink — Wish I could afford what they're guzzling!

Franky   April 13th, 2008 11:31 am ET

Whiskey!?!? Man, she's crazy….LOL!!

Ilove Obama   April 13th, 2008 11:31 am ET

I wonder how many gallons of whiskey she will drink before November.
We just happen to see this .

ben   April 13th, 2008 11:31 am ET

Hillary is wishing what you won't get!

steve laster   April 13th, 2008 11:31 am ET

If obama drank Crown Royal, CNN wouldn't have even mentioned it's Canadian Wisky.

CNN is biased and rating are showing.

CL   April 13th, 2008 11:31 am ET

She can drink an Obamabot under the table.

Matt   April 13th, 2008 11:31 am ET

Actually Jean, the Obama supports are the educated ones. The one who are capable of seeing through the lies of HRC. The ones that understand she will do anything to get a vote.

The HRC voters are the same ones who voted for Bush because he wasn't "elitist." It turns out he was as is HRC.

Why are Americans afraid of individuals who are capable of deep thought?

Gore, Kerry, Obama, J. Carter scare people because they are smarter than the average person and that somehow that is insulting to the common voter.

Our leaders should be smart and think outside the box! Talking intelligently does not mean you are elitist. HRC is a piece of work. If she STEALS the election she will get beat in the general and the first children who will be drafted for McCain's Iran war (every repub. needs their own war to validate their patriotism) are the blue collar work's son's who want HRC. Lets see if she'll stop by for a shot then? Actually she'll probably be too busy to vote for the war.

Jamie   April 13th, 2008 11:32 am ET

CNN:

WHO CARES?!

Lynn   April 13th, 2008 11:32 am ET

Obama is using the Rev Wrights tactics slamming one sector (small town USA) to score votes with another. In Obama's case, rich white people. A trick straight out of the Rev Wright's hand book. Cheers Hilary. You deserve a break.

ne, pa independent   April 13th, 2008 11:34 am ET

The Clintons will say and do anything to be elected…it's so ridiculously obvious.
Oh, and I'm in PA and yes, I'm bitter. In fact, that's putting it mildly.

lil   April 13th, 2008 11:34 am ET

Susan, if thats all it took to change you mind about Obamo you are
not very loyal and wouldnt have voted for him anyway.

Independent Now for Integrity and humility in Politics = Obama   April 13th, 2008 11:35 am ET

I bet the dumb hillary supporters eat this stuff up… Ask yourself this, do you really want a candidate that changes with the wind to garner votes. I don't think you can deny that Hillary will do anything and everything to win the nomination, even if it means dividing the democratic party. How can you guys not realize that Hillary's own ambition is the reason she wants to win, it has nothing to do with helping people.

Valerie   April 13th, 2008 11:35 am ET

Okay, let’s get real. The reason all the cable networks are adding political shows to their line-up is because of the excitement of this election. You take away Barack, there is no more excitement. The ratings and the revenue will go down.

People are excited about politics because of Barack Obama. If I had to watch Hillary and McCain for four years, I’d opt for watching paint dry. My husband pointed out the fact that if I don’t hear Barack’s name in two minutes of watching the news, I change the channel. He may be right, I get bored listening to lies, or beating war drums.

ILOVEAMERICAMOST   April 13th, 2008 11:35 am ET

I am just surprised after reading the nasty low life mean spirited comments from most of the posters that Hillary stopped at just one. She seems to have more balls than most of the men that ran against her, or the supposedly "male" senators of her own party including the empty suit running against her.

Brandon   April 13th, 2008 11:35 am ET

Am I missing something, or does this seem like a joke on the behalf of the writers? It's obviously nothing newsworthy. She just drank some whisky and ate some pizza. As one person above said, what's next; Obama eats potato chips? Obama goes bowling?

Oh, wait…

Roxanne NY   April 13th, 2008 11:35 am ET

Oh she is one tough gal! I would love to have her as my president!

jfeist   April 13th, 2008 11:35 am ET

I can't believe I'm actually reading something as totally irrelevant as this. I have so much else to do. This fluffy non-news is such procrastination fodder….

Diane, DE   April 13th, 2008 11:37 am ET

Folks in PA know the difference between a real arguement and bull hockey. Barack will win PA and go on to win the nomination. No matter what someone else says.

Go Barack.

Penn State   April 13th, 2008 11:37 am ET

Obama supporters are so bitter and out of touch with America!!!

American   April 13th, 2008 11:37 am ET

See how Hillary and McCain will pretend that we have no problems so that they will have less responsibility.
