New Clinton ad: Obama is 'out of touch'

CNN

Watch Sen. Clinton's new ad, "Pennsylvania."

(CNN) - Hillary Clinton’s campaign released a tough new ad Monday that features the reactions of some of her Pennsylvania supporters who say they were “insulted” by Barack Obama’s controversial recent comments about some small-town Americans.

The 30-second spot – which echoes several days of similar criticism from Clinton and her campaign - features a diverse group of voters reacting to Obama’s comments a week ago that some of the state’s residents were “bitter” and turning to guns and religion because of economic pressures.

Full script follows:

Woman 1: I was very insulted by Barack Obama.

Man 1: It just shows how out of touch Barack Obama is.

Woman 2: I'm not clinging to my faith out of frustration and bitterness. I find that my faith is very uplifting.

Man 2: The good people of Pennsylvania deserve a lot better than what Barack Obama said.

Woman 1: Hillary does understand the citizens of Pennsylvania better.

Woman 3: Hillary Clinton has been fighting for people like us her whole life.

I am disgusted with the entire tone of Clinton's ads. What ever happened to talking about yourself instead of denigrating your opponents by misrepresenting what they have said.

The bloggers have became so nasty, that I think this is the last time I read any.

I'm voting for the only candidate with integrity, Barack Obama.

It saddens me to see Hillary Clinton sink to such (NEW) lows. Really?
I honestly don't understand how anyone in this country can believe that what Barack Obama said was anything but the truth.
The small town people ARE bitter. If you say you aren't bitter or you try to believe that there are people who are happy to be without jobs...then you are still living in denial. Yes, there are those who aren't affected as deeply, but he never said EVERY person was bitter.
Stop being so easily offended, my gosh, how old are you people?

P.S. Take a look around you, this country is falling apart and supporting Hillary is a surefire way to make sure that happens even faster.

Clinton is a basket case. I guest she doesn't have faith in herself to win so she just continue to attack Obama. SAD, SAD, SAD, now is that the type of person you want in the White House?

Hillary has stooped to an all time low and comes across as a desperate and over the top and she is the one out of touch. Of course we are bitter–we are loosing are homes, can't afford the gas prices, and the cost of food is raising. And what about this stupid war that is costing us billions, trillions of dollars. And how dare she accused Obama of being an elitist when she has 109 million. Shame on you Hillary. I can't wait till this is over and her and Bill (partner in crime, liar) go away!

Obama's choice words about why rural America don't vote for him are what we call "Freudian slips-of-the-tongue".

These slips come naturally because they are what a a person really believes. I don't doubt for a moment that Obama believes what he said. And that's what troubles me...

To say that folks in small towns across America don't vote for him because these people are "bitter" about the economic hardships and misfortunes in their lives, and that they "cling" to guns and faith when these events happen in their lives, and that they virtually become anti-immigrants (and therefore bigots) because of these hardships - REVEALS A LOT about Obama and how he views Americans WHO ARE NOT FOR HIM.

I don't like this at all. Not at all...

Must be Clinton staffers, it would take too long to search high and low for people who would fall for her false statements. Everyone knows what Obama meant, maybe just more un-educated clinton supporters.

She is the one who is out of touch.

American voters are not as stupid as she thinks we are.

I actually found Obama's remarks questionable, but her response has been ten times worse.

Let it go Hillary. Don't you have a duck shoot to get to?

How much did Hillary pay these people to say these words? They must be laughing all the way to the bank. Especially when they vote for Barack next week.

People are beginning to see Obama is NOT ready to lead the free world, let alone those folks in San Francisco. McCain will chop him into bits. But Barak's a great VP for Hillary. I still think they could make a great team. But, then, I don't thrive on hate and vitriol.

If the Americans are too stupid to see throught the Clinton's and the Bush family monopoly then they deserve what they get.

After 20 years you think they could find someone else who could help their country.

Learn to speak Chinese as soon as possible. They will be hiring you when your wages are lower than theirs.

  20. Think people

Dawn, actually "getting caught" would mean being found out in a lie or in something you were afraid to have exposed, like um, lesseee...no, wait, it's coming to me...Oh, right, saying that you were shot at by sniper fire (ingeniously disguised as an 8 year old) when you were NOT.

If you can't tell the difference between an actual awkward phrasing (misspeaking)–saying something less well than you intended, and clarifying it immediately–versus LYING outright, then you might reconsider who is actually drinking the proverbial Kool Aid here. And FYI, you might want to look up the word "elitist" again, because you didn't quite get it right. Near as I can tell, the only ones being irrational here in their comments are the ones shouting (i.e., those with the incessant caps) and/or taking deep offense when they obviously had already made up their minds and didn't listen to Obama's perfectly logical explanation. Don't be such an unthinking drone.

No one sane or rational could look at the history and professional resumes of these politicians, or listen to their campaigns for the past 15 months, and proceed to label Obama as the elitist one. But trying to explain that to some of you is just a waste of breath. I trust that the majority of Pennsylvanians are smarter, more savvy, and better able to think for themselves tahn some of the sampling here.

Ronald Reagan once said about Third World countries ruled by cruel dixctaors that "people deserve the leaders they get". I guess that, looking at all that's going on today in American politics, in a country in recession, when people have been lied to over and over again the same governments that got them in this situation in the first place, I guess we can say that Americans deserve the type of government that has been in Washington and has made them "bitter" and "frustrated".

CNN, why do you consistently post and transcribe Clinton's campaign adds, but very rarely Obama's?

I only wish that most American people see Hillary Clinton for who she truly is. She is evil! She will dine with the devil to get back to the White house. She's a liar and cares for no one but herself. She is driven by sheer greed and over ambitious ego.

Where are the 200,000 jobs you promised New Yorker during your campaign for the Senate. Liar! She'll say anything she believes people want to hear. It will be better for George bush to rule a lifetime than have Hillary Clinton spend one day as President. Please people campaign against Hillary....

"People like us"...implication meaning that Hillary Clinton is above us mere plebians.
Yet, of course, she has been fighting for us all along...so out of gratification and humble loyalty we should just vote for her.

    How about NO?
