New Clinton ad: Obama is 'out of touch'

CNN

Watch Sen. Clinton's new ad, "Pennsylvania."

(CNN) - Hillary Clinton’s campaign released a tough new ad Monday that features the reactions of some of her Pennsylvania supporters who say they were “insulted” by Barack Obama’s controversial recent comments about some small-town Americans.

The 30-second spot – which echoes several days of similar criticism from Clinton and her campaign - features a diverse group of voters reacting to Obama’s comments a week ago that some of the state’s residents were “bitter” and turning to guns and religion because of economic pressures.

Full script follows:

Woman 1: I was very insulted by Barack Obama.

Man 1: It just shows how out of touch Barack Obama is.

Woman 2: I'm not clinging to my faith out of frustration and bitterness. I find that my faith is very uplifting.

Man 2: The good people of Pennsylvania deserve a lot better than what Barack Obama said.

Woman 1: Hillary does understand the citizens of Pennsylvania better.

Woman 3: Hillary Clinton has been fighting for people like us her whole life.

What a strange political season. Hillary flat out lies about her Bosnia experience again and again. She lies about why she lied (tired). Then her chief surrogate (Bill) lies about her lies. Obama uses the word bitter instead of just angry, and the Clintons along with the help of the press go bonkers over the words.

Then the candidate that is closest to the people and has spent much of his life working on their behalf in the streets of Chicago is accused of being elitist while the son of admirals and the Clintons that have made tens of millions get off with a slap of the wrist.

Hillary thinks that only she can beat McCain, when in reality in this political season only Hillary can get beaten by a Republican. Her negatives will continue to rise as she continues to polarize the democratic electorate.

Any democratic leader that supports Hillary needs to have a serious conversation with their conscience.

Oh those Clinton – they are so mean. Give me a break Koolaid drinkers. The Clintons are not allowed to point out what an idiot Obama was in CA? Poor Obama! What a hypocrit he is – he attacks all the time and his "followers" are such whiners. You have CNN and MSNBC in the tank with you so quit whining.

As it happens, voters do care about his stupid remarks, so deal with it.
You know he got caught and you just can't stand it!

He is an elitist – someone who thinks he is complicated while others are simple.

Bitter… Really? Why would we be bitter? Maybe it’s because the bankers who offered predatory loans are now "retiring" with multi-million dollar packages? Maybe it’s because we are struggling to pay our mortgages while the banks get bailed out by DC? Maybe it’s because our jobs have been shipped overseas, some by Bill Clinton. Yes, we are bitter, and there is nothing "elitist" about speaking the truth!

Still can't figure out what was untrue or false about what Barack said. It's just like most American's not to like what we see when we are shown ourselves in a mirror that reflects what truly is before someone is able to cover it up with falsehoods.

It's good to have a candidate tell America exactly what it needs to hear. It appears to me that his rivals are a little 'bitter' that they didn't expound on this issue first.

Ultimately, we all have reasons to be embittered, having seen our government hijacked by those who seem entirely divorced from our aspirations. Small towns are occupied by some of those who deserve to be most frustrated of all. Barack Obama recognizes that our bitterness is not cured by ignoring it or dismissing it. It is cured by talking about it - and working to replace it with hope.

Clinton is way out of touch with the reality of the average American...this ad is pretty childish and shows that Clinton is desperate now, and I have news for you Ms Clinton, "the White House is out of your reach this time!"

I am so tired of her trying to side track the issues. Is this the only strategy her staff can come up with? When will she learn that being negative doesn't suit her well. All she have to do is look at her last Negatives polled!

I have not decided on whom to vote for yet but after this last non sense, she certainly won't receive my vote. Hillary, the ONE MILLION DOLLAR LADY…yea she really can relate.

Lou Dobbs just cited the 20% lead Hiilary now has in PA. Thanks Lou, you're the last one on CNN that I can count on, even when I don't always agree with you.

Obama is not only out of touch, but both his wife, Michelle, and Mr. Obama are true racists... Hillary is correct to call him out on his stupid Silliness.

If this is the silly season, then Mr. Obama is truly the silliest!

what's wrong with being bitter when the world sucks?
i'm sure workers wouldn't be bitter if they had clinton's millions.
bitterness and anger sometimes give us the energy to make important changes. beware the one who advises you to remain "positive while starving". she does not wish you well.

Once again, Hillary is doing what she does best: "Spining" As far as I am concerned, the only one out of touch is her. She will do what ever she can to win. One word to describe this ad.....more like two, "SAD, SAD"

Hey guess what? There's some truth in what Obama says. Offensive, probably. Truthful, probably. Unfortunately HRC is smart enough to know how to prey on those who can't look in the mirror and ask themselves why the words are offensive.

This ad has the potential to backfire given the reaction when she tried to use the same rhetoric today in her speech – the crowd seriously disapproved.

    Obama supporters.
Your guy can do and say whatever he wants offending and insulting people and never apologize even when is wrong 100%.
As long has people like you that forgive and excuse Him, He can continue to B.S. you as long he get the nomination.
Think about who he really is and see why he cannot win in November if he is the nominee.

  25. DNC look!!

The surprise is that the DNC doesn't see this man is poison for the party.

The left wing will not win the election...just like the right wing won't.

The great middle centrist unified America will win the election... and we all want Hillary.

The Democratic elders could not possibly continue to support Obama after witnessing his childish ploys... his admonitions not to parse his words, his lecturing and pontificating, his looking down his nose at the rest of America, and worst of all his mocking and jeering behavior towards the other democratic candidate.

He is very dismissive... anything but a uniter who can reach out to others.
